F/A-18C Reallistic HUD for VR

This mod provides a reallistic depiction of how the F/A-18C HUD works in real-life. This mod is best experienced in VR.

In real-life, the F/A-18C HUD can only display symbology on the area of the combiner glass that reflects the combiner lens. The pilot sees only a portion of the symbology with each eye and his brain fuses the images of both eyes into a single image of the entire symbology. The real HUD also displays a green glow on low light conditions when the brightness of the HUD is too high. This makes the real HUD a bit harder to see and use than what is depicted by default in DCS.

This mod intends to simulate the limitations of the real HUD to bring the F/A-18C simulation a step closer to realism. It does this by clipping the symbology to the two circular areas that represent the reflection of the collimation lens on the combiner glasses and by adding several green glow effects to the HUD rendering.

Among other things they added a UFC display created by TecnoBit to incorporate new systems and a better and Multifunctional Upfront Control Display. To emulate this upgrade I have made a mod which adds the display as a payload in the central station.

Combined Arms VR Hud Fix

Combined Arms does have an amazing potential in VR, it only needs a proper rework to match the current level of DCS modules.
Current VR implementation is bugged and scopes are broken.

This mod attempts to fix most scopes and tweaks few other parameters.
Calibration of the scopes is done on HP Reverb G2. I hope this fix works on other VR headsets as well.
You will need to recenter your headset upon entry of the vehicle, and before shooting the target (for the best precision).

DCS Ka-50 (BS2) Blue Chinese Cockpit Mod v1.1 ( DCS: World 2.5

This mod replaces the Hornet’s left and right DDI screens with flat LCD screens. Improves the dynamic reflections on the screen glass. Changes the font to off-white.

It also alters the green filter applied to the FLIR/MAVF/AG radar picture all displays, so the AG radar picture, TGP and Maverick, SLAM etc video will now appear in gray-scale.

This is a complete pack with a lot of northern animals for decoration etc.

To pointing me in the right direction with sling loading, I thank @Grajo very much with his MOD: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3310436/

Some of the animals have been already in a Mod-Pack earlier on, which is no longer working in 2.5. I brought them up to the new standard and modified them.
Some of the animals were coming from Sketchfab and the user Pablo444 under CC Attribution.

I modified them with Blender 2.91 (Poligon reduction and DCS Structuring) and exported them to EDM Format.
My next plans are to create animated animals. However I have first to learn the DCS structures for exporting «bone deforming» EDMs.

This mod version works with DCS World 2.5.6, from version 2.5.6.50321 up to 2.5.6.61527.3 (the final release of 2.5.6, before 2.7).

This is a modification to slightly improve graphics performance with no noticeable image quality loss, and no issues with slow loading of missions.
It works perfect for regular screen monitors, and also absolutely fine in VR.

This mod is also IC compliant for Multiplayer (no issues whatsoever in Online MP).

PLEASE NOTE: this mod will NOT work with the newer 2.7.x version of DCS. For that one, please look into my other files (click in my user name).

Su33 Cockpit HDD Reflection Mod

After completing my «Su33 Cockpit Instrument Reflection Mod» that reduced and/or eliminated the reflection from the Su-33 dials and gauges (found at: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3313194/), I heard from some pilots who requested I do the same for the Flanker’s HDD. Since the HDD reflection is defined by altering a different cockpit file, I decided to create this as a sister-mod to the gauge and dial reflection mod. You don’t need the other mod to alter the reflection of the HDD, but they definitely go together to address the whole cockpit reflection gauge/dial/HDD look which many feel is too pronounced and difficult to read clearly.

And Flanker pilots from the early DOS and Lock-On days may recognize the return of the overlay grid on the HDD 🙂

Dark Viper Cockpit Mod HAF 337 sqn V2

This is a cockpit mod for the F-16C which features darker textures and some little details that represent the Hellenic Air Force’s 337 squadron «Ghost», which is tasked and dedicated to the Air Intercept mission. MFDs textures have been edited to have some LCD feel which improves visibility. Corrected some errors that exist in the default cockpit. Added light weathering on ICP buttons.

This mod is OvGME ready.
Passes IC.

OUTDATED Normandy Winter Textures

**I will be working on updating the textures and trying to figure out how to change the splatmap textures so we can enjoy winter in 2.7!**

Usage:
-These textures replace the Autumn textures on the Normandy map, so to use it, simply set the date to any month in Autumn.

-Unzip the Normandy_Winter_Textures.zip
-Place all content in DCS World/Mods/Terrains/Normandy/Vfxtextures

If you want to keep it save, you can use JSGME

If you do not use JSGME, make sure that you create a backup of the Vfxtextures folder.

This mod does not pass the IC check.

Issues:
-We were unable to change the Splatmap textures, since these textures are directly linked to the 3d Mesh in the terrain editor.

Australian Daring Class Destroyers, HMAS Vampire [D11], and livery for HMAS Vendetta [D08].

HMAS Vampire was the third of three Australian-built Daring class destroyers serving in the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). One of the first all-welded ships built in Australia, she was constructed at Cockatoo Island Dockyard between 1952 and 1959, and was commissioned into the RAN a day after completion.

She was one of the last all gun Destroyers in the Royal Australian Navy. Regularly required to do plane guard duties for HMAS Melbourne II with her sister ships HMAS Vendetta [D08] and HMAS Voyager [D04].

Armed with 6 x 40mm Bofors guns in 2 single and 2 dual mount turrets for air defence, and 6x 4.5in Guns in the 3 main turrets.

HMAS Voyager not included as she was bisected by the HMAS Melbourne in 1964 and was resting on the bottom of the Tasman Sea when these 2 ships had their mid-life refits in 1970 (as modeled here).

Livery is included for her sister ship HMAS Vendetta [D08].

For players in VR or playing in an area with alot of background light, it’s hard enough to see out of the cockpit when flying with no labels on.

This mod changes a few small things with the canopy of the F-86F:
-Reduced scratches
-Removed reflections
-Removed dive lines
-Reduced tint of both the gunsight glass and canopy to see ground targets in low light conditions.

Optional folders:
-remove tint entirely (canopy and/or sight)
-remove scratches entirely (canopy only)

How to install:
-JSGME or manual copy (see readme)

Limitation: Part of the gunsight lamp reflection is still there, I’m only able to edit the smaller DDS files. It may be embedded in one of the complex files that I can’t risk changing.

Leander Class Frigates (Royal Navy)

Backstory:- I fell in love with the Leanders as a kid, when the BBC series «Warship» was aired on TV back in the 70’s, and also seeing them on Port calls to my hometown
Oban ( hence my forum name) and my late father was a matelot aboard HMS Daring in the 1950’s. I made several of the «airfix» plastic kits back in the day too.

I purchased the model off CGTrader and tried to find tutorials on hot to put vessels in game, to no avail, and I though I’d hit up both admiral189, and Hawkeye60 to see if they could help.. the result is what you see today.

V1.0 Release:- The initial release will feature 26 Royal Navy Leander class frigates with the 4.5″ guns, and there’s a further 12 Exocet fitted frigates, 12 Exocet Towed arrays,
and 4 Leander class Towed arrays (This class never existed, and is purely a bonus) so a whopping 38 vessels
to choose fr om.

Adds a 2 POS Slider switch (I use on my X56) speedbrake command to the F/A-18C, F-16CM, A-10C. F-14B, JF-17 (this one replaces the T3 down command), and AV-8B N/A. Just delete the aircraft you don’t have/want. OvGME ready.

Better Labels for DCS World 2.5.6

The idea is not new. But Opacity in Labels.lua is broken and many don’t realize there is workaround.
This Labels file is adjusted to be subtle enhancement to visibility.

Install: Extract to DCS Main install path or use mod manager. Must choose Dots only labels in game.

I have included comments in the file for further adjustment per your preference. Search for Taz1004.

Dot size will depend on your screen resolution and can be adjusted with font size in line 60
Recommend font size of 3 or 4 for VR. 8 for 4K monitor.

Fly all non-flyable aircraft except 1 For Lock On Flaming Cliffs 1.10-1.12a

Have you ever wanted to fly planes like the F-14 or the Mig27K? Well now you can do that along with other non-flyable aicraft execpt 1 cause I ran out of time to do it. You wont be able to fly the helicopters but you will be able to fly all other aircraft except 1. Now in other files that tell you that you can fly this aircraft by copying that skin somewhere else well this is so much easier. Simply back up the meinit.xml file in your me folder then copy my edited one in the me folder to overwrite the original and there you have it. You will now be able to fly all non flyable aircraft except 1. The best part about this is that when your controlling the plane with this file then you’ll still have the same cockpit as that 1 plane that you could originaly fly in the game but now when you go outside your cockpit you’ll notice that the plane is the same one you chose and not just that but you also get the exact charateristics of that plane. SO enjoy. I have fully tested this and only found 1 bug and thats where if you control a plane that has a propeller on it you’ll notice that the propeller doesnt want to animate altough you will still be flying the plane cause the engines are still going. Other then that there were no problems. That includes weapons for the non flyable aircraft. I think you all would agree with me that this is the easyest way to control non-flyable aircraft. And also the plane you chose even if its a non-flyable one will have the same engine sound as the plane you chose and not one of the originals. And also note that if you pick a plane that used to be a non-flyable aircraft that you couldnt control then when you hit the fly button the loading screen will turn blue. This is normal. The loading thing will still load and it will return to normal when the flying mission comes up.

Please Note:This will only work for Lock On Flaming Cliffs 1.10-1.12a. All other versions below that you will lose control of the plane if you try to fly it the moment you start a mission in any version below 1.10. And also if you would like to comment on this and tell me what you think of this then drop the support topic and comment.

Created using the default textures that I desaturated then recolored and darkened. I stuck mostly to the original colors, but turned most of the brown and yellow to black and white, because I hate those colors. I also changed some switches to grey to make them stand out better. Gauges were heavily played with to make them much easier to read, and reflections were removed from the gauges glass.

Mi-8MTV2 Transparent Controls Indicator (IC Pass) (JSGME/ovGME Ready)

Simple edit of lua responsible for controls indicator.

Mod includes several possibilities:
-In the upper left corner with the autopilot
-On the top left corner without autopilot
-In the lower left corner with the autopilot
-In lower left corner without autopilot

This mod was made compatible with DCS version 2.7.11.21408.1 (latest OpenBeta as of 17th March 2022).
It may or may not work with future versions (will be updated whenever possible).

This is a modification to slightly improve performance with no noticeable image quality loss, and no issues with slow loading of missions (same as original!).
It works perfect for regular screen monitors, and also absolutely fine in VR.

This mod is also IC compliant for Multiplayer (no issues whatsoever in Online MP).

PLEASE NOTE: this mod will NOT work with the older 2.5.6 version of DCS. For that one, please look into my other files (click in my user name).

Russian letters Ka-50 RICARDO HD pit.

Unchain Rudder from Trim in the Ka-50

-all test are made in DCS World 1.2.6-

This implements a new trimmer logic for the Ka-50.
So you don’t need to recentre the rudder after you have released the Trimmer.
You just have to move your rudders a little tiny bit to get to your old rudder position.

OUTDATED Normandy Winter Textures

**I will be working on updating the textures and trying to figure out how to change the splatmap textures so we can enjoy winter in 2.7!**

Usage:
-These textures replace the Autumn textures on the Normandy map, so to use it, simply set the date to any month in Autumn.

Issues:
-We were unable to change the Splatmap textures, since these textures are directly linked to the 3d Mesh in the terrain editor.

Australian Daring Class Destroyers, HMAS Vampire [D11], and livery for HMAS Vendetta [D08].

Armed with 6 x 40mm Bofors guns in 2 single and 2 dual mount turrets for air defence, and 6x 4.5in Guns in the 3 main turrets.

HMAS Voyager not included as she was bisected by the HMAS Melbourne in 1964 and was resting on the bottom of the Tasman Sea when these 2 ships had their mid-life refits in 1970 (as modeled here).

Livery is included for her sister ship HMAS Vendetta [D08].

F-14B Dogfight Training is a simple multi-mission for DCS World that allows to practice both BFM and ACM combat on the F-14B Tomcat form Heatblur Simulations.
The mission will let you choose the type of engagement (BFM or ACM), the type of aircraft which you will face and the skill level of the AI pilot. Then, you will be put straight at the begin of the engagement without the need to deal with departure procedures and long navigation to the training area.

SCRAMBLE!

Since the IADS roll-back from the previous 3 nights the young conflict has been relatively calm with diplomats having conversations on open and behind-the-scenes channels. Most of the USAF presence at Larnaca has since moved to Incirlik, to include half the F-22’s, since the infrastructure is already there. A single squadron of F-16’s make up the USAF presence on Cyprus and has been on 10-minute alert in case of a Syrian aircraft coming west over the Med.

You and your flight will be on Ground Alert for any Syrian incursion from the East. You have 2 other flights of F-16’s on alert as well. A 24-7 AWACs is up for Tact C2 support and an occasional RC-135V/W flies to monitor Syrian SIGINT.

Destroy Hizballah missiles warheads

Iranian forces are trying to deliver missile warheads to the Hizballah terrorist in Lebanon.
A cargo plane is due to arrive to Beirut airport in Lebanon and unload the warheads to an armed convoy.
Wait for transport to land and try to spot the truck the warheads are loaded onto.
It is estimated the armed convoy will consist 3 vehicles, 2 armed cars and a truck in the middle.

Destroy the truck with the warheads after it leaves the Terminal area (wp Bravo)

Do this before it makes it to the Dahya area.

Mission RHU v2.1

Hello pilot,
this is my first mission ever based on SEAD and A/A combat. I will make a campaign out of this if this makes even 1 like!
I recommend playing it with friend, but I designed it to be solo playable. This mission can be planned by you for ex. land on carrier or on the Sochi-Adler airbase, kill secondary target, fly around SAM sites. But please stay near waypoints or this mission will not be fun at all. (Sorry but the png files were too big so i have to put a link here to discord. It goes 123 as normal) For this mission is recommended having 16GB+ RAM because lot of effects are used.

What it says on the tin. Every known SAM site, current or not, in the Caucasus region. Crimean peninsula not included, because I was making this for something that didn’t require it and then realized it was a good template. That’s also why there’s about 200 static aircraft at various airfields.

I suggest selectively deleting SAMs you view as superfluous, as there are a LOT and I put every site I could find on there, whether there was still a SAM there or not.

Falklands War / Malvinas War Campaign. [Singleplayer][A-4][Pucará][All free modules]

This is a campaign representing the Falklands/Malvinas War using all free modules and mods so anyone can play it. There are 15 missions using A-4 and Pucarás from the argentine side.

All battles are representations, using real squadron names, and as close to the real number of air and sea units as possible in each battle, so you can get a feeling of what the pilots had to face in the conflict.

Welcome to the Fighter Weapons School training campaign for the Aerges Mirage F1

In this 16 mission training campaign you will learn/practise every aspect of weapons delivery in the Mirage F1.
Tasks range from simple navigation using TACAN offsets to low level bombing to more advanced techniques like toss bombing or pop up attacks.
Overall there are 10 air to ground missions, 5 air to air missions and 1 naviagation exercise.

Each mission is described in the accompanying manual, providing the player with all necessary attack parameters, gunsight depressions, sight pictures and if needed cockpit switches.

Moreover the manual covers basics like cold start, radio handling and creating own waypoints using TACAN offsets.

Required are the Syria map and the Aerges Mirage F1.

The insurgents advance has taken the Georgian forces by surprise and they have managed to capture key cities. The Georgian government has requested urgent help from NATO and the US. In response to Georgia’s request, the US has sent TASK FORCE 60 led by CVN-73 USS George Washington carrying VFA-192 of which you are a squadron leader.

Operation Black Knight begins and its objective is to help the Georgian forces to recover their country and eliminate the insurgent forces, we must act with caution, we must not provoke Russia and lead the country into a large-scale war

die Kampagne besteht aus 12 abwechslungsreichen Missionen. Kleine Info: Man muss bei allen Missionen nachdem alle Ziele erfüllt sind auch wieder zurück zur Air Base fliegen und erfolgreich landen, sonst zählt die Mission als Fehlschlag.

I have just taken zelog’s Cyclone 3 campaign for the Su 25T and made it work with DCS 2.5.6
Items changed are:
Situation and task description
Fixed initial position of all aircrafts (otherwise you or your mates just blow up as soon as you enter the cockpit)
Eliminated appearance of allied aircrafts on the runway as you come into land (not sure why they were there in the first place)
Fixed some inconsistencies in the triggered actions
The enemy staff in one of the mission has been placed in an easier to spot location (was impossible to spot for me using VR)

I really enjoyed playing this campaing, so thank you Zelog for making this available in the first place.

We were invited by the UAE to Sir Abu Nuayr Airfield to demonstrate the capabilities of our KA-50 Black Shark.

The rising tensions between Iran and the UAE and the new emerging threat of religious extremist opened a gap for a new sea / land based attack helicopter. If we play our cards right, we can land a good deal. All we have to do is to give them a presentation of the potential of this great combat machine.

Without any surprises, this should be a walk in the park.

Para un mayor realismo, se ha reemplazado la voz en castellano del centro de mando por una voz en español con acento extranjero.

Estamos ubicados en Larnaca, Chipre. donde hemos establecido una base militar para construir un puente logístico para las operaciones de transporte aéreo entre el Líbano y los países pertenecientes a las Naciones Unidas. Las fuerzas que compiten por el control del Líbano se oponen a nuestra presencia y han programado un ataque aéreo contra nuestras posiciones.

Nuestra misión es anticiparnos, neutralizar el ataque y evitar que sus bombarderos despeguen. Si esto sucede, nuestra posición quedará devastada.

No tenemos muchos recursos. Cuatro F/A-18 despejarán el espacio aéreo hacia la base hostil y regresarán a Lanarca. No debemos meternos en su lucha y debemos conservar nuestro armamento, lo necesitaremos sobre el objetivo.

[HOT FIX ] Afghan start up for Hind (+50deg overboard)

Here is the HOT FIX of Hind`s Afghan startup script, that allows u to start up in high outboard temperature. Still fast as possible, but now its more stable (I had to increase timeouts for engines stable work, so 2’35» now. All who loaded previous one, change for this one pls. Disabled sight on this time, bcoz someone of u flying civil also, so if u need go combat, u need just to turn sight on. Also need ur feedback about this script work.

What changes?:
-start up till +50 overboard available;
-start up complete in 2’20» (at +10), 2’35» (at +50) ; default is 3.30 as usual;
-9K113 rdy in 3’30» as before, with warning as b4 😉 ;
-no sight on (if u go combat-turn it on or change script as on pic #2).

How to install: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\Mi-24P\Cockpit\Scripts\Macro_sequencies.lua
