Alaska Airlines, American Airlines and Qantas Paid Programmes

Alaska Airlines, American Airlines and Qantas offer programmes enabling customers to pay to gain access to their lounges. These programmes are not part of the oneworld agreement, and members of these programmes are not entitled to access lounges under the oneworld agreement.

Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan Members and Premium Customers

Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan MVP GOLD 100K, 75K, and MVP GOLD members may access oneworld lounges when travelling to somewhere outside of the U.S., Canada, or Mexico.

Additionally, Alaska Airlines customers on Alaska Airlines operated domestic flights, connecting to or from an international long-haul flight in a premium cabin on the same day, are eligible for oneworld lounge access before the domestic flight.

American Airlines AAdvantage Members and Premium Customers

International North American Flights

American Airlines AAdvantage members members, regardless of their tier status or class of travel, are not eligible for access to oneworld member airline lounge when travelling solely on North American flights between the U.S., Canada, Mexico (except Mexico City), the Bahamas, Bermuda and the Caribbean.

Limited Time Offer: Effective 1 April 2021, American Airlines First and Business Class customers, as well as American Airlines AAdvantage Executive Platinum, Platinum Pro and Platinum members will be eligible for lounge access to AA Admirals Clubs when travelling on an AA operated international flight. Domestic Flights

American Airlines AAdvantage members, regardless of their tier status or class of travel, are not eligible for lounge access when travelling solely on domestic U.S. flights (some exceptions apply). For more information, visit American Airlines’ website.

Premium Customers

Customers traveling in First or Business class, who do not hold oneworld Emerald or Sapphire status, are not eligible for lounge access when travelling on American Airlines domestic flights solely within U.S., between U.S. and Caribbean, between U.S. and Mexico (except Mexico City), or Canada, other than the exception listed below:

Customers traveling in First or Business class on select non-stop domestic U.S. transcontinental flights (JFK-LAX and JFK-SFO, and vice-versa) are eligible for lounge access.

SriLankan (UL) FlySmiLes Exceptions

Lounge access is not applicable for SriLankan Airlines‘ FlySmiLes Platinum and Gold members travelling in Economy class out of Male (MLE), Gan (GAN), Trivandrum (TRV), Tiruchirappalli (TRZ), Chennai (MAA), Madurai (IXM), Bangalore (BLR), Cochin (COK), Coimbatore (CJB) and Hyderabad (HYD) to Colombo (CMB) and vice versa on SriLankan Airlines-operated flights. It will also apply to SriLankan Airlines FlySmiLes Platinum and Gold members booked on an international itinerary arriving on a flight of less than 5 hours duration and connecting via CMB to and from any of the above-mentioned short haul sectors. This exception does not apply to other member Emerald and Sapphire customers.

Airport Lounge Exclusions

British Airways‘ Concorde lounges are not included in the oneworld lounge access policy.

Qatar Airways‘ Al Safwa First and Al Mourjan Business lounges in Doha (DOH) and Qatar Airways’ Premium Lounges in London (LHR) and Paris (CDG) are excluded.

Exclusion of certain Business Class fares

Qatar Airways “Business Lite” fares are not eligible for lounge access.

Finnair “Business Light” fares are not eligible for lounge access.

oneworld connect Access

Eligible customers travelling on a oneworld connect journey involving Fiji Airways and a oneworld sponsor, either British Airways, Cathay Pacific or Qantas, will have access to a select number of global lounges. Альянс хотя и проигрывает по количеству участников Star Alliance (26 авиакомпаний) и SkyTeam (20 авиакомпаний), но по общему размеру флота и количеству пунктов назначения идет со Скайтим практически вровень. Во многом благодаря тому, что ключевые авиакомпании альянса – огромная по размеру флота American и большие Qatar Airways, British Airways, QANTAS и LATAM.

Если говорить об авиакомпаниях из Европы, то их в oneworld всего три:

Россия представлена в oneworld авиакомпанией S7 Airlines, которая перед вступлением в международный альянс значительно улучшила качество обслуживания, обновила парк самолетов, заменив устаревшие советские самолеты на современные лайнеры Airbus, Boeing и Embraer. Теперь перевозчик полностью соответствует всем международным стандартам безопасности и качества сервиса.

Возможно, со временем в oneworld появится еще какой-либо авиаперевозчик из России, но на данный момент альянс заявляет о своих планах по расширению присутствия в других регионах – особенно в Африке и в Китае. Там oneworld сейчас практически не представлен, в отличии от Star Alliance и SkyTeam.

Бонусные программы авиакомпаний – членов oneworld

Бонусной программы под единым брендом в oneworld нет, однако все участвующие авиакомпании признают бонусные баллы других партнеров по альянсу. Достаточно зарегистрироваться в одной бонусной программе любого из членов альянса и на этот бонусный счет копить баллы от любых полетов, совершенных на рейсах участников oneworld.

И еще одна отличительная особенность бонусной программы альянса oneworld. Копить баллы можно не только на рейсах полноправных участников альянса, но и аффилированых авиакомпаний (как правило дочерних для того или иного перевозчика).

oneworld: безопасность и происшествия

Сегодня oneworld предъявляет очень строгие требования к авиакомпаниям, являющимся его членами. Стандарты безопасности едины для всего альянса. Перед вступлением каждая авиакомпания проходит ряд серьезных сертификационных процедур. Они показывают ее соответствие требованиям и стандартам.

Каждый авиаперевозчик, претендующий на вхождение в oneworld, проходит внешний аудит. Он включает проверку компании по 118 пунктам. Большая часть из них связана с обеспечением безопасности.

Мы проверили международные базы данных по авиакатастрофам, чтобы найти все происшествия с погибшими, которые случались с самолетами авиакомпаний, входящих в oneworld.

Также случалось несколько крушений и случаев гибели самолетов у разных авиакомпаний, но они обошлись без гибели пассажиров или людей на земле. Катастрофы с лайнерами S7 Airlines случались задолго до вступления авиакомпании в альянс.

Перспективы развития oneworld

Для всех международных альянсов один из самых перспективных рынков сейчас – индийский. Там oneworld сейчас не представлен. Также в альянсе нет африканских авиакомпаний или часто летающих в страны Африки. Логично предположить, что это основные направления развития альянса.

С другой стороны, у oneworld сильное представительство в большинстве стран Латинской Америки, благодаря авиакомпании LATAM. И в Азии авиакомпаниями Malaysia Airlines и SriLankan.

Возможно, в ближайшее время в альянс войдет еще одна или несколько авиакомпаний из Европы. А в 2018 году ожидается присоединение к альянсу национальной авиакомпании Республики Фиджи – Fiji Airlines (в прошлом – Air Pacific).

oneworld connect partners provide select alliance benefits to frequent flyers from any oneworld member airline travelling on their flights, with a more extensive range of benefits offered with a subset of oneworld member airlines, known as their «oneworld sponsors».

Customers with Emerald, Sapphire or Ruby status in any oneworld member airline’s frequent flyer programme will be able to use priority check-in desks, where available. Also, customers with Emerald or Sapphire status will be offered priority boarding.

The additional benefits offered by oneworld connect partners to customers from their oneworld sponsors and vice versa include:

Through check-in of passengers and their baggage for journeys, including connections between a connect carrier and any of its oneworld sponsors.

The ability to earn and redeem frequent flyer rewards, and earn frequent flyer status points, for eligible flights. (For customers from oneworld connect airlines, these benefits depend on the oneworld connect partner offering a frequent flyer programme.)

Access to select lounges at key airports for First or Business Class passengers or those with eligible top-tier frequent flyer status.

Select other customer benefits may also be offered between oneworld connect partners and their oneworld sponsor airlines.

Oneworld — третий крупнейший авиационный альянс в мире — после Star Alliance и SkyTeam. Авиакомпании — члены альянса и их подразделения отличаются высокой степенью сотрудничества в планировании, продаже билетов, программах лояльности, стыковках рейсов, кодшеринге, совместном использовании терминалов аэропортов, что сокращает затраты и позволяет обмениваться опытом.

Oneworld был создан в 1999 году, был первым альянсом авиакомпаний, который использует централизованную систему управления. Находящийся в Нью-Йорке, центральный офис Oneworld управляется Управляющим Партнёром, который отчитывается перед Правлением альянса, которое состоит из руководителей каждой из авиакомпаний — участников альянса. Председатель Правления избирается по принципу ротации. После значительного расширения в 2007 году (Japan Airlines, Royal Jordanian и Malév Hungarian Airlines становятся членами альянса, в то время как LAN Ecuador, LAN Argentina, Dragonair и пять подразделений Japan Airlines, присоединяются как аффилированные авиакомпании) альянс стал обслуживать около 700 направлений почти в 150 странах во всем мире, выполняя более чем 9000 ежедневных рейсов. Авиационные альянсы — это глобальные партнерские объединения авиакомпаний.

Star Alliance

Первое из подобных объединений создано 14 мая 1997 года. На сегодняшний день это самый крупный и самый успешный из существующих в мире альянсов.

Ежедневно осуществляется около 21 000 вылетов.

Воздушный парк составляет 4 023 самолета. Логотип Star Alliance размещен на каждом из них с обеих сторон входной двери.

Расписания всех авиакомпаний составляются с максимальным удобством для транзитных пассажиров. Это позволяет снизить время на трансферы.

SkyTeam

Второй по величине альянс авиаперевозчиков, создан 22 июня 2000 года.

Первое объединение, в которое вошла и российская авиакомпания Аэрофлот.

Ежедневно осуществляется около 13 000 вылетов.

Воздушный парк составляет 1 941 собственных самолетов и 1 199 самолетов партнерских перевозчиков. На боковой поверхности корпуса каждого из них размещен логотип альянса.

One World

Третий крупнейший альянс в мире создан 1 февраля 1999 года.

В состав входят следующие авиакомпании: American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, DragonAir, Finnair, Iberia Airlines, Japan Airlines, LAN, Malev Hungarian, Mexicana, Qantas, Royal Jordanian. С 15 ноября 2010 года в состав альянса вошла российская авиакомпания S7 Airlines.

Global Support Teams/Counters

Oneworld offers a Global Support Team service in select airports around the world. These teams consist of connection experts that are ready to assist in person with transfers between member airline flights.

This is achieved through the constant monitoring of connecting flights. If a Global Support agent deems your flight connection at risk, they will meet and assist you whenever possible. This may include the use of fast-track immigration and security lanes to assist in catching the next flight.

Additionally, this service is extended to member baggage to increase the likelihood of the baggage accompanying the member to the final destination.

Similarly, the Global Support Team assists in providing services if a member has missed a connecting flight. These services can include updated travel information, new boarding passes, and assistance with overnight accommodations (where applicable).

SkyTeam vs OneWorld — Какой альянс выбрать?

В мире существует три крупнейших авиаальянса авиакомпаний: OneWorld, SkyTeam, Star Alliance. О первых двух мы сегодня и поговорим. Почему только о первых двух? Потому что в альянс oneworld входит наша авиакомпания S7, а в SkyTeam входит авиакомпания Aeroflot. В то время как в Star Alliance входят только зарубежные авиакомпании, поэтому летая по России толку от этого альянса не будет. Я сделаю отдельную статью на блоге только с точки зрения кругосветных путешествий, где сравню все три альянса. А сейчас расскажу что же выбрать нам, простым россиянам, которые немного летают по своей родной стране, немного летают по миру и хотят пользоваться дополнительными услугами и преимуществами во время полета. Сразу оговорюсь, что эта статья предназначена для новичков и рассматриваться в ней будет только первый уровень программ лояльности, до которого может дойти любой желающий без особых напрягов.

SkyTeam

Начнем с самого популярного в России перевозчика, Аэрофлота, и как следствие с авиаальянса Небесной Команды. Для того, чтобы получить серебреный уровень и как следствие дополнительные плюшки нужно за год налетать 25 полетов в эконом-классе или набрать 25000 миль. В целом любой начинающий путешественник за год может дойти до этого уровня, даже без оплаченных командировок. Например полет из Тюмени в Ереван и обратно принесет уже 4 полета, так как будет совершена пересадка в Московском аэропорту. Что же стоит за этим серебряным уровнем?
Если говорить про полеты Аэрофлотом, то приоритетные стойки регистрации (бизнес-стойки), что позволит вам не стоять 25-30 минут в очереди за талоном и сдачей багажа. Дополнительное место багажа и +25% миль от тарифа вашего авиабилета на всех рейсах альяса. Это если вкратце. А если более подробно, то обратите внимание на таблицу ниже, где SU обозначает что это возможно только на рейсах Aeroflot, а ST — на рейсах альянса включительно:

Любите зеленые самолетики? Они вас тоже 🙂 Выбирая зеленые самолетики в полетах по России вы выбираете альянс Одного Мира и вот что это вам дает, на первом уровне программы: приоритетная регистрация, дополнительный багаж + 25% миль от вашего тарифа авиабилета. А так же выбор места сразу после покупки (включая двух попутчиков(!), а так же места extra space без доплаты (!)

Ну а теперь самое важное: как получить то этот статус Ruby? Для этого нужно совершить на 5 полетов меньше чем в альянсе SkyTeam, a именно 20 полетов или набрать 20.000 миль.

SkyTeam vs OneWorld

Ну а теперь давайте сравним два альянса и определим какой из них более выгодный.
1) Получить первый статус программы лояльности проще от альянса OneWorld
2) Больше преимуществ предоставляет тоже альянс OneWorld (где можно пересадить себя на места с большим пространством у ног, в то время как SkyTeam предоставляет только скидку в 25%)
3) Накопленные мили выгоднее использовать кстати тоже у OneWorld. Если на премиальные билеты разница в целом небольшая, то вот на бесплатный апгрейд с эконома в бизнес у OneWorld выгоднее:

8500 миль за апгрейд до бизнес-класса если вы летите из Москвы скажем в Грузию. И 11000 миль за апгрейд в Европу. Вот что предлагает SkyTeam за тот же маршрут из Москвы в Грузию:

А вот OneWorld:

Те же 20000 миль за полет Туда-Обратно в Грузию, но вот если вы покупаете билет только в один конец, то SkyTeam потребует от вас 15000 миль, а OneWorld только 10000 миль.

4) Авиакомпании в альясе:

Вот что входит в SkyTeam и посмотрите сразу, какие из них вам знакомы? Про какие авиакомпании вы чаще видите упоминания о распродажах и акциях? AirEuropa это кто? Я летал только China Southern и тот один раз был случаен.

А вот у OneWorld дела обстоят интереснее:

Чуть больше половины компаний входящих в альянс я знаю, летал ими и постоянно слышу упоминания о них в распродажах и скидочных билетах. Чего стоит только такой авиаперевозчик №1 по США как AA? А вылеты из Финляндии Finnair? Да постоянно!

5) Багаж. А вот по багажу однозначно выигрывает SkyTeam. Уже с первого статуса вам предоставляют дополнительное место багажа, в то время как у OneWorld такое предоставляют только со второго уровня программы лояльности. Если багаж важен для ваших путешествий — выбирайте SkyTeam.

Итог

Выгоднее остановить свой выбор на OneWorld, и отдавать предпочтения именно авиакомпаниям входящих в их альянс. Это выгоднее во всех отношениях, по сравнению со SkyTeam. Ну и летать по России зелененькими самолетами. К тому же после ввода новой тарифной политики летать с ними стало даже дешевле чем Аэрофлотом, если у вас нет багажа.

SriLankan усилит присутствие альянса в Южной Азии. Управление

Генеральному директору подчиняются вице-президенты по коммерческим вопросам; Членство и клиентский опыт; и по корпоративным коммуникациям, финансовый директор и ИТ-директор.

Генеральный директор подчиняется Управляющему совету Oneworld, в который входят руководители каждой из авиакомпаний-участниц. Совет управляющих регулярно собирается для определения стратегического направления и обзора прогресса. Председательство в совете сменяется исполнительными директорами членов альянса. Генеральный директор Qatar Airways Акбар Аль Бейкер сменил генерального директора Qantas на посту председателя в мае 2021 года.

Новый глобальный альянс

В преддверии официального запуска альянс приступил к обширной программе общения и обучения сотрудников, в которой задействованы практически все 220 000 сотрудников, нанятых пятью авиакомпаниями, чтобы гарантировать, что они смогут выполнить то, что обещал бренд альянса. На момент запуска в 1999 году авиакомпании-участницы Oneworld и их дочерние компании обслуживали 648 пунктов назначения в 139 странах и перевезли 181 миллион пассажиров с флотом из 1577 самолетов.

Swiss International Air Lines (Swiss) приняла приглашение присоединиться к Oneworld в сентябре 2003 г. после подписания 23 сентября 2003 г. меморандума о взаимопонимании (MOU) о заключении широкомасштабного коммерческого соглашения с British Airways. oneworld ® today launches a new platform for linking up to the world’s premier airline alliance – enabling customers to enjoy more services and benefits across an even more extensive global network.

The first airline to join in the new capacity as a oneworld connect partner will be Fiji Airways.

A date will be announced in due course for when Fiji Airways will start offering oneworld connect services and benefits (see below). Meantime, it is business as usual.

oneworld connect is the first new membership platform unveiled by oneworld since the alliance was originally announced 20 years ago.

oneworld is in discussion with other carriers interested in participating in the programme, from various parts of the world including the Americas, Asia-Pacific and Europe.

American Airlines, Cathay Pacific and Qantas already code-share and have frequent flyer links with Fiji Airways. British Airways and Fiji Airways are currently discussing areas for potential bilateral cooperation.

What oneworld connect means for customers

oneworld connect partners will provide select alliance benefits to frequent flyers from any oneworld member airline travelling on their flights, with a more extensive range of benefits offered with their oneworld sponsors.

Customers with Emerald, Sapphire or Ruby status in any oneworld member airline’s frequent flyer programme will be able to use priority check-in desks, where available. Also, customers with Emerald or Sapphire status will be offered priority boarding.

The additional benefits offered by oneworld connect partners to customers from their oneworld sponsors and vice versa include:

All oneworld connect partners will make their networks available via Global Explorer, the round-the-world fare offered by all oneworld members and select other airlines. Fiji Airways already does so.

All oneworld connect partners will be required to maintain IATA IOSA safety certification.

oneworld’s regular range of services and benefits remain in place for customers flying with the alliance’s full member airlines and their affiliates.

CEOs explain oneworld connect’s strategic rationale

oneworld Governing Board Chairman Pekka Vauramo, CEO of Finnair, said: “In the 20 years since oneworld’s conception in 1998, global airline alliances have expanded their breadth to the extent that they now account for 60 per cent of total industry revenues and capacity globally, and 70 per cent of revenues between the world’s top 125 business city airports.

About Fiji Airways

Fiji Airways is the flag carrier of Fiji. It serves 21 destinations in 13 countries and territories, including oneworld hubs Sydney, Hong Kong, Los Angeles and, from next month, Tokyo. Royal Air Maroc to join oneworld

Royal Air Maroc is to join oneworld®, adding one of Africa’s leading and fastest growing airlines to the world’s premier airline alliance.

Its election as a oneworld member designate was announced as the Chief Executives of the alliance’s 13 current member airlines gathered in New York for their year-end Governing Board meeting, just weeks before the alliance celebrates the 20 th anniversary of its launch.

Royal Air Maroc is expected to be implemented into oneworld in mid-2020, when it will start flying alongside some of the biggest and best brands in the airline business. Its regional subsidiary Royal Air Maroc Express will join as a oneworld affiliate member at the same time.

From then, the recruits will offer the full range of oneworld customer services and benefits, with the one million plus members of Royal Air Maroc’s Safar Flyer loyalty programme able to earn and redeem rewards on all oneworld member airlines, and with its top tier members able to use the alliance’s more than 650 airport lounges worldwide.

Until then, it is business as usual for Royal Air Maroc and oneworld and its existing member airlines.

While Southern Africa’s Comair, which flies as a franchisee of British Airways, has been a oneworld affiliate member since the alliance lauched in February 1999, Royal Air Maroc will be oneworld’s first full member from Africa – the only continent, apart from Antarctica, where the alliance has, until now, had no full member.

Royal Air Maroc is today the largest unaligned carrier in Africa – with a transformational strategy well underway to develop it quickly into a truly global airline and the continent’s leader in terms of both size and quality.

It carried 7.3 million passengers last year on a fleet of 55 aircraft, with a network that currently connects its Casablanca base with 94 destinations in 49 countries across Africa, Europe, the Middle East and North and South America, including oneworld hubs Doha, London Heathrow, Madrid, Moscow Domodedovo, New York JFK and Sao Paulo.

Its schedule today will add 34 new destinations and 21 countries to the oneworld map, taking the alliance’s network to 1,069 airports in 178 countries and territories

Under its ambitious five-year plan, it plans to expand its fleet significantly, carrying 13 million passengers a year across a global network serving 121 destinations in 68 countries. This will add another 15 destinations and nine countries to the alliance network – giving the alliance a total of 1,084 destinations in 187 countries and territories.

Three established oneworld member airlines – British Airways, Iberia and Qatar Airways – currently serve three destinations in Morocco between them: Casablanca, Marrakech and Tangier.

oneworld CEO Rob Gurney noted: “When we unveiled our new membership platform oneworld connect in June, we said that in the future oneworld would target as full members large airlines that have a significant presence in the alliance’s prime target market, providing connections between the world’s leading business centres. About Royal Air Maroc

Royal Air Maroc is the flag carrier of Morocco. It carried last year 7.3 million passengers on an average of 245 daily departures. Its current fleet of 55 aircraft is centered on Boeing 737-800s and Embraer 190s on short to medium-haul routes, with Boeing 767 and Boeing 787-8s flying longhaul services. It receives its first 787-900s this month (December 2018). Its regional affiliate Royal Air Maroc Express operates five ATR 72s.

Royal Air Maroc offers a two-class Business and Economy product on most international routes, including seats that convert to angle lie-flat beds in its premium cabin.

It is undergoing significant investment in product and marketing, with a new brand image and marketing content, cabin refits, redesign and new uniforms all planned in the coming months. In the past five years, its improved service and quality levels have been recognised with Skytrax raising its quality rating to four stars.

In 2017, the airline and its subsidiaries generated revenues of US$ 1.7 billion, achieving operating profits of US$ 48.5 million. It employs 5,413 people. Royal Air Maroc, which celebrated the 60 th anniversary of its foundation this year, is 98 per cent owned by the state of Morocco.

It already code-shares with Qatar Airways and with oneworld’s partner Iberia and S7 Airlines. It is expected to develop further links with other oneworld member airlines as it prepares to join the group.

Авиационные альянсы – это одно из главных понятий, который должен знать любой турист. Постараюсь кратко объяснить, почему эти знания помогут сэкономить на перелетах.

Три глобальных авиационных альянса

В настоящее время в мире существуют три глобальных альянса авиакомпаний: SkyTeam (СкайТим), Star Alliance (Стар Альянс), Oneworld (Ван Вёрлд).

Авиакомпании объединяются в альянсы с целью снижения затрат на авиаперевозки, оптимизации бизнес-процессов и роста пассажиропотока. Но нам обычным пассажирам все это не совсем интересно.

Авиакомпании внутри альянса унифицируют следующие элементы:

— бонусные программы для пассажиров

— вводят совместные рейсы

— согласовывают расписание рейсов.

Говоря проще, при организации стыковочных перелетов проще, дешевле и удобнее летать самолетами одного авиационного альянса. При организации своих путешествий по Азии, США, Европе и иным направлениям я всегда использую перелеты только в рамках одного авиационного альянса, благодаря чему сэкономил уже немало средств.

Познакомимся со всеми альянсами поближе.

Альянс авиакомпаний SkyTeam (СкайТим)

Это второй по величине авиационный альянс в мире. Могу точно сказать, что россияне и особенно жители Дальнего Востока чаще всего пользуются именно его услугами. Ведь в состав альянса входят Аэрофлот — Российские авиалинии (Aeroflot — RussianAirlines) и KoreanAir (Кореан Эйр), широко представленные во Владивостоке.

Fast track through security

We know your time is precious and you’d prefer to be in one of up to 620 oneworld lounges, rather than waiting in line at airport security. That is why, at select airports worldwide, oneworld Emerald frequent flyers (including Qantas Frequent Flyer Platinum members) can access the ‘Fast Track’ or ‘Priority Lanes’ at security check points no matter which cabin they are travelling in.

Due to restrictions or local agreements with Security Fast Track facility operators, not all oneworld carriers are currently able to extend this benefit to all Emerald tier customers.

Relax in more premium lounges around the world

If you are a Qantas Platinum Frequent Flyer or Gold Frequent Flyer member (equivalent to the oneworld Emerald or Sapphire tiers), or you are travelling in a First or Business Class cabin on any oneworld member airline (excludes oneworld connect partners), you can access up to 620 airport lounges throughout the world. This means you can relax or catch up with work in comfort and style before departure.

To be eligible, you must be departing on a flight that is both marketed and operated by a oneworld member airline.

oneworld lounge access for frequent flyers by tier status

Enjoy exclusive access to premium airport lounges around the world with Qantas Frequent Flyer Platinum and Gold status. Members of oneworld airline frequent flyer programmes with the equivalent of oneworld Emerald or Sapphire tier status can use any lounge offered by any oneworld member airline when departing on any flight marketed and operated by any oneworld member airline, regardless of cabin class being flown.

The following exceptions apply:

1. American Airlines and Qantas offer programmes enabling customers to pay to gain access to their lounges. These programmes are not part of the oneworld agreement, and members of these programmes are not entitled to access lounges under the oneworld agreement.

3. Arrivals lounges are not included in the oneworld lounge access policy.

4. British Airways Concorde Lounges are not included in the oneworld lounge access policy.

5. Qatar’s Premium Lounges are not included in the oneworld lounge access policy. However, oneworld members holding First or Business Class tickets on Qatar Airways or other oneworld members are invited to use the lounges.

6. Qantas Frequent Flyer Gold members, regardless of their oneworld tier status, cannot access Qantas Domestic Business Lounges.

oneworld был создан в 1999 году и стал вторым международным авиационным альянсом в мире после Star Alliance. Сейчас это третий по величине альянс, объединяющий в себе 13 авиакомпаний из разных уголков мира. Россию в oneworld представляет авиакомпания S7 Airlines – второй по размеру флота и маршрутной сети перевозчик в стране. Альянс хотя и проигрывает по количеству участников Star Alliance (26 авиакомпаний) и SkyTeam (20 авиакомпаний), но по общему размеру флота и количеству пунктов назначения идет со Скайтим практически вровень. Во многом благодаря тому, что ключевые авиакомпании альянса – огромная по размеру флота American и большие Qatar Airways, British Airways, QANTAS и LATAM.

Если говорить об авиакомпаниях из Европы, то их в oneworld всего три:

Россия представлена в oneworld авиакомпанией S7 Airlines, которая перед вступлением в международный альянс значительно улучшила качество обслуживания, обновила парк самолетов, заменив устаревшие советские самолеты на современные лайнеры Airbus, Boeing и Embraer. Теперь перевозчик полностью соответствует всем международным стандартам безопасности и качества сервиса.

Возможно, со временем в oneworld появится еще какой-либо авиаперевозчик из России, но на данный момент альянс заявляет о своих планах по расширению присутствия в других регионах – особенно в Африке и в Китае. Там oneworld сейчас практически не представлен, в отличии от Star Alliance и SkyTeam.

Бонусные программы авиакомпаний – членов oneworld

Бонусной программы под единым брендом в oneworld нет, однако все участвующие авиакомпании признают бонусные баллы других партнеров по альянсу. Достаточно зарегистрироваться в одной бонусной программе любого из членов альянса и на этот бонусный счет копить баллы от любых полетов, совершенных на рейсах участников oneworld.

Главное, что не требуется регистрация в нескольких программах разных перевозчиков – это удобно!

И еще одна отличительная особенность бонусной программы альянса oneworld. Копить баллы можно не только на рейсах полноправных участников альянса, но и аффилированых авиакомпаний (как правило дочерних для того или иного перевозчика).

oneworld: безопасность и происшествия

Сегодня oneworld предъявляет очень строгие требования к авиакомпаниям, являющимся его членами. Стандарты безопасности едины для всего альянса. Перед вступлением каждая авиакомпания проходит ряд серьезных сертификационных процедур. Они показывают ее соответствие требованиям и стандартам.

Каждый авиаперевозчик, претендующий на вхождение в oneworld, проходит внешний аудит. Он включает проверку компании по 118 пунктам. Большая часть из них связана с обеспечением безопасности.

Мы проверили международные базы данных по авиакатастрофам, чтобы найти все происшествия с погибшими, которые случались с самолетами авиакомпаний, входящих в oneworld.

Также случалось несколько крушений и случаев гибели самолетов у разных авиакомпаний, но они обошлись без гибели пассажиров или людей на земле. Катастрофы с лайнерами S7 Airlines случались задолго до вступления авиакомпании в альянс.

Перспективы развития oneworld

Для всех международных альянсов один из самых перспективных рынков сейчас – индийский. Там oneworld сейчас не представлен. Также в альянсе нет африканских авиакомпаний или часто летающих в страны Африки. Логично предположить, что это основные направления развития альянса.

С другой стороны, у oneworld сильное представительство в большинстве стран Латинской Америки, благодаря авиакомпании LATAM. И в Азии авиакомпаниями Malaysia Airlines и SriLankan.

Возможно, в ближайшее время в альянс войдет еще одна или несколько авиакомпаний из Европы. А в 2018 году ожидается присоединение к альянсу национальной авиакомпании Республики Фиджи – Fiji Airlines (в прошлом – Air Pacific).

Malaysia Airlines

Qantas

As the only Australian airline in any global airline alliance, it offers an extensive domestic network besides serving points in Asia, the South Pacific, Europe, North and South America and Africa.

Qatar Airways

Qatar Airways has a vast network across the Middle East and beyond and was named as Skytrax’s Best Middle East Airline for the seven years running and has been awared the Skytrax’s Five Star ranking since 2004. Other recent awards include Business Traveler USA’s Best Airline for International Travel and Aviation Business’ Airline of the Year 2011. It joined the oneworld alliance in October 2013.

Royal Air Maroc

Royal Air Maroc is the national carrier of Morocco and the leading airline in Africa since its creation in 1957. They connect their base in Casablanca with over 105 destinations in 54 countries over six regions (Africa, Asia, Europe, Middle East, North America and South America). Royal Air Maroc joined oneworld in April 2020.

Royal Jordanian

Royal Jordanian is the national carrier of the Kingdom of Jordan and joined the oneworld alliance in 2007. It serves some 60 destinations in 40 countries throughout the Middle East, where it offers one of the most extensive networks of any airline to Europe, Asia, Africa and North America.

SriLankan Airlines

SriLankan Airlines is the national airline of Sri Lanka. The airline currently operated to 32 destinations in 20 countries. with a fleet of over 20 aircraft, they cover a vast area of South Asia. SriLankan Airlines joined oneworld in May 2014.

Fiji Airways

Fiji Airways is the first member to join oneworld connect. Fiji Airways is the flag carrier of Fiji. It serves 21 destinations in 13 countries and territories, including oneworld hubs Sydney, Hong Kong, Los Angeles and Tokyo. Fiji Airways’ inclusion in oneworld connect will add seven territories – its Fiji home and the neighbouring South Pacific nations of Kiribati, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu and Samoa.

Fortunately that’s starting to change, with a huge number of people traveling abroad again. When I think of my international flying memories, the perks I’ve received on account of my oneworld Emerald status are among my favorites. I wanted to dedicate this post to why I love oneworld Emerald status so much, as I’m sure I’m not alone. What is airline alliance status? There are three major global airline alliances — oneworld, Star Alliance, and SkyTeam — and combined they have dozens of airline members. Not all airlines belong to a global alliance, though many major airlines do. One of the benefits of these alliances for frequent flyers is that there’s a certain level of reciprocity when it comes to elite perks. You don’t earn elite status directly with an alliance, but rather you earn status with a member airline, and that status maps over to an alliance elite tier. Just to give some examples: Personally I think oneworld Emerald status is the most valuable of those by far, so let me share why. I value oneworld Emerald status immensely What are the benefits of oneworld Emerald status? The oneworld alliance has three elite tiers — Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. Emerald is the top tier status, and is typically earned with having high level status in a oneworld frequent flyer program. What are the perks of oneworld Emerald status? Here are the high-level benefits, roughly in the order that I value them: Below I wanted to go into a bit more detail on the benefits above that I value most. Lounge access with oneworld Emerald The single best perk of oneworld Emerald status is the lounge access benefit, as members receive access to oneworld first & business class lounges when traveling on a oneworld flight the same day in any cabin. They’re allowed to even bring one guest with them (also traveling on a oneworld flight). Now, there are a few things to be aware of: As far as I’m concerned this leaves some really phenomenal oneworld Emerald lounges, including some that I’d rank among the best first class lounges around the world. Cathay Pacific oneworld Emerald lounge Hong Kong Qantas oneworld Emerald lounge Singapore Preferred & pre-reserved seating with oneworld Emerald I wish this weren’t actually a benefit that I valued, but unfortunately some airlines in oneworld charge for seat assignments, even in business class. For example: While I’d probably otherwise usually book away from airlines with policies like this, oneworld Emerald status makes this a non-issue, as I can continue to select seats in advance for free. Assign Qatar Airways seats for free as a oneworld Emerald member Do note that each airline has a different policy when it comes to assigning oneworld Emerald members priority economy seats. Some will assign extra legroom economy seats for free (for example, American gives oneworld Emerald members with joint venture partners free Main Cabin Extra seats), while others won’t. Assign British Airways business class seats for free as a oneworld Emerald Priority check-in & boarding with oneworld Emerald As a oneworld Emerald member you can generally check in with international first class, and also board with international first class. Personally I love this perk because when I review flights it’s handy to be able to board business class when first class boards, so I can snap pictures of the cabin before it gets too full. Note that the exact policy of each airline differs. For example: Extra baggage allowance with oneworld Emerald status While I only travel with hand luggage a vast majority of the time, for those times where I check luggage, the extra oneworld Emerald baggage allowance comes in handy: For example, while American Airlines domestic first class passengers get two free checked bags up to 70 pounds each, as an Executive Platinum member (oneworld Emerald) I get a third free checked bag with the same weight limit. The extra oneworld Emerald baggage allowance comes in handy How does oneworld status compare to others? Why do I prefer oneworld Emerald status to top tier status with Star Alliance or SkyTeam? First of all, the oneworld alliance is the only one to have a true “top tier” alliance-wide status. For example, Star Alliance Gold is the highest Star Alliance status, and you generally get that with mid-tier airline status. Bottom line While there’s huge value to airline status in general, I find that reciprocal alliance perks really shine with oneworld Emerald. Any time I consider giving up on status with American Airlines, I’m reminded of how much I’d miss oneworld Emerald status. There’s something about the peak experiences that the status allows that makes me really value it. It sure is nice to fly American business class out of LAX and use the Qantas First Lounge. It’s too bad that Hong Kong continues to remain largely closed, because Cathay Pacific probably has the strongest oneworld Emerald recognition of any airline in the alliance. Anyone else love oneworld Emerald as much as I do? And anyone disagree with my take, and prefer status with Star Alliance and/or SkyTeam?
