It’s time to revisit Animal Crossing in the new DS version of the beloved GameCube game. This beginner’s guide to Animal Crossing: Wild World will help you get started on your new life.

Animal Crossing: Wild World is the DS version of Animal Crossing, the massively popular GameCube game that was released a couple of years ago. As in that game, your task in Wild World is simply to live; at the beginning of the game, you’re plopped down into a town, told to earn a bit of money to pay off the mortgage on your home, then let loose into the world. Along the way, you’ll have to plant trees, care for your town’s environment, catch fish, dig up buried fossils, shoot down UFOs with your slingshot, and a whole bunch of other tasks. Of course, you don’t have to do anything at all, if you don’t want to; the game is structured so that you’re never pigeonholed into performing one task.

Of course, there’s far more content in Animal Crossing: Wild World than there was in the first Animal Crossing, including hundreds of new items, new holidays, and online multiplayer with friends. This short guide is just intended to get you started with the game, especially if you never played it on the GameCube. There are many, many more tips and guides for the game on Gamefaqs.com, so feel free to check them out if you’re looking for more information.

Getting Started

As you begin the game, you’ll find yourself in a taxi, heading out to your new town. Your driver will start interrogating you, asking you all manner of personal questions in a rather brusque manner. That saucy cur! Anyway, this is your opportunity to set out a number of items of pertinent information, such as the current date, and then your name. After entering your name, you’ll be able to let the driver know whether or not it’s «burly» or «cute». If you choose the first option, you’ll be considered to be a boy; if you choose the second, you’ll wind up as a girl. After that, you’ll have to choose the name of your town, before the driver finally lets you out and you get to start your new life.

You begin by entering Town Hall. Talk to the clerk here to hear all about your new house, which has been set up for you by Tom Nook. When you’re done talking, head out of the Town Hall and head over to your new house. Feel free to poke around a bit, if you wish; there’s not much to do at the moment. When you leave, though, the devious slumlord known only as Tom Nook will approach you and shake you down for a full 19,800 bells. Since you currently have a grand total of zero bells,

Tom Nook’s Tasks

After you get your house set up, Tom Nook arrives and asks you to stop by his store; you’ll have to engage in a bit of indentured servitude before you can actually take advantage of his store to buy and sell items. When you’re ready to get working, head over to his store; just make sure you have at least seven open slots in your inventory.

When you arrive in the store, Tom will want you to switch into your work clothes, which he’ll automatically plop into your inventory. To do so, open your inventory (which you can do by hitting the map button, then clicking on the suitcase icon to the far left of the row of icons), then dragging the work clothes onto your portrait.

Task One: Plant the Plants

Your first task for Tom will be to prettify his house by planting trees and plants all around it. He’ll give you seven plants and shrubs to plant, so head outside, find a likely spot, then start tapping the plants in your inventory and select the Plant option from the popup. You can be as stylish as you like, or you can just plant all seven plants in the same spot; Nook isn’t going to be able to tell the difference.

Task Two: Introduce Yourself To the Town

The second task that Nook gives you will be to introduce yourself to the neighbors. This basically entails tracking down and talking to all of the other homeowners in the area; there should be three or four of them to worry about. Some will be in their homes, while others will be walking around. You have to talk to all of them, and you’ll need to repeatedly talk to at least one of them until they ask you about your birthday. In addition, you’ll need to talk to the Mayor, who’s standing outside the Town Hall. You don’t need to worry about the characters in the museum or the shop or anywhere else; just your neighbors and the Mayor will do.

Task Three: Furniture Delivery

Ah, well, time yet again to venture out into the world and deliver goods for Nook. This one’s simple: just find the neighbor that Nook wants you to deliver the furniture to on the map, talk to them, give them the item from Nook, then take whatever they want to give you.

Task Four: Write a Letter

Be sure to note whom Nook wants you to write the letter to; it’s best to do this right away, before you forget who you’re sending to. Nook will give you some stationery, so select it in your inventory and choose Write a Letter. Select the intended recipient, then write whatever you like. It’s not like anyone’s going to be reading it; feel free to type out «!@q23423» and send that. No matter what you type, head over to the Town Hall, and walk to the right of the person behind the bar to hit the post office. After mailing your letter, you’ll be able to return to Nook for your next assignment.

Task Five: Carpet Delivery

As before, all you have to do here is find the target for your delivery, give them the carpet, receive what they choose to give you in return, then return to Nook.

Task Six: Water Can Delivery

Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть фото Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть картинку Animal crossing wild world. Картинка про Animal crossing wild world. Фото Animal crossing wild world Tom Nook will buy basically any junk that you happen to find around time, and also act as a fence for the hot ice you pick up during your nighttime career as a cat burglar.

Hey, guess what you have to do now? You know the drill; find the recipient and give them the can.

Task Seven: Post On the Message Board

Tom wants you to take advantage of some of that free word-of-mouth advertising. Obviously, a viral advertising campaign, followed up by overbearing stealth marketing among the hip urban crowd, is what’s called for. To your dismay, though, all Tom can think is to post a message on the town messageboard, near the Town Hall. Head over there, select Post, then type out something like «Come to Tom Nook’s shop!» or something equally catchy.

And that’s it! With these seven tasks out of your way, you’re able to get started in the wild world of Animal Crossing. Nook will now agree to buy items from you and sell his stock, if you wish.

Making Your Fortune

The first thing you’re going to need to worry about in Animal Crossing will be making a bit of cash. With money, you can start to pay off Nook, buy items from his and other shops, put money into your savings, and so on and so forth. Of course, Animal Crossing isn’t all about making bank, but getting the first few thousand bells in your pocket will be important, since it’ll let you buy a shovel, net, fishing rod, and other basic tools from Nook.

At the outset, the easiest way to make some bells will be to head down to your shoreline, where you should be able to find plenty of shells and sand dollars, and the like. Bring everything you find back to Nook and sell it, and you should be able to get enough cash for a shovel or a fishing rod, which will help you compound your earnings by giving you other methods of earning cash.

General Activities And Making Money

Shoveling

With a shovel in hand, you’ll finally be able to dig up all those mysterious holes in the ground and see what’s underneath them. Actually, we guess they’re not really holes until you dig them up. anyway, you should have seen a few spots on the ground that look a bit different than what the ground normally looks like, as if there were something buried there; usually there’s just a little brown smudge to break up the normal pattern of the ground. When you find one of these spots, move your shovel on top of your character in the inventory screen, and try to dig it up! Generally you’ll find fossils, which you can bring to the Museum proprietor to have them identified. If you wish, you can donate the fossil to the museum, or bring it to Nook to sell, or plop it down in your house as a decoration. You’ll also occasionally find other items, such as seeds or gyroids.

Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть фото Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть картинку Animal crossing wild world. Картинка про Animal crossing wild world. Фото Animal crossing wild world You never know what you’ll find when you dig stuff up! Don’t forget to bury a bunch of junk in your friend’s towns when you visit; they like that.

With your shovel, you can also dig up holes anywhere you like and bury items. Burying most items isn’t very useful, but if you bury seeds and water the resulting hole, you should find yourself with a new kind of tree before long. You can also bury other items just to see what happens. For instance, try buying a second shovel, digging a hole, then burying one of your shovels. If you leave it alone for a full day, then dig it up again, it should have turned into a Golden Shovel, which you can now use to plant money trees by burying bags of money with it. Handy!

Bug Catching

Bugs can either be sold at Nook’s shop, or brought to the museum for cataloguing. To catch a bug, you’ll need a net, which you can buy at Nook’s shop. With the net equipped, find a bug, aim at it, then swing the net at it to catch it! Simple. Unfortunately, if you’re reading this close to the time it was posted, you’ll have a hard time finding any bugs to catch, as there aren’t many of them available in your town during winter. If you want to have an easier time spotting bugs, flip your game clock forward to summer or fall and look around for bugs then.

If you catch every type of bug at least once, you’ll earn a Golden Bug Net.

Slingshotting

If you happen to buy a slingshot from Tom Nook, you’ll be able to use it when you’re outside. If you happen to note something float across the upper screen of your DS, quickly equip your slingshot and attempt to shoot it down. Many of the items that float around up there are rare, and you might even be able to shoot down people or UFOs!

After you shoot down 15 items, you’ll earn a Golden Slingshot if you manage to shoot it down. The Golden Slingshot makes it easier to hit items as they float across the sky.

Fishing

Fishing is a bit more complicated than shovelling stuff up, but has its own rewards. To fish, buy a fishing rod from Nook, then head out to one of the bodies of water in your town and look for fish; they’ll appear as black silhouettes in the water. When you’ve found a likely candidate, try to stand near it, without brushing up against the water, as this will likely spook it. When you’re in a good position, point yourself upstream and cast your bobber. The bobber should float downstream, and hopefully glide past the fish and get its attention. As the fish starts heading towards the bobber, it’ll nibble a few times (and you’ll see the bobber go up and down) before finally taking a full bite (when the bobber will fully submerge itself). When the bobber’s submerged entirely, reel the line in, and you’ll have your very own fish.

Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть фото Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть картинку Animal crossing wild world. Картинка про Animal crossing wild world. Фото Animal crossing wild world Fishing can be tough to get the hang of, but it becomes easier when you get used to it.

Of course, one of the overall objectives for fisherman is to unlock the Golden Fishing Rod, but to do so, you’ll need to catch every type of fish at least once. Doing so is no mean feat, though, considering that many fish can only be caught at a certain type of day, or in a certain type of body of water (lake v. river v. ocean), or in a certain type of weather. You can refer to Gamefaqs.com to find more information on all of the varieties of fish, and the specific parameters for catching them. It’s not strictly necessary to catch all of them unless you want the Golden Fishing Rod, although the rarer fish will of course net you more cash at Tom Nook’s shop. The Golden Fishing Rod itself will make it easier for you to catch fish, as they’ll be attracted to your bobber.

Fruit Harvesting

Another primary area of interest in Animal Crossing is planting and growing fruit trees. Each town that you create will have one type of fruit initially available on its trees. If you want to plant more of that kind of fruit, shake down a fruit from the tree, dig a hole elsewhere, and plant your fruit there. Over time, the fruit will either grow up into a new tree, or die. (If it dies, you might have planted it in an area reserved for future events, or too close to a rock.)

When a fruit tree is in bloom, you can shake down the fruit and sell it to Nook for more pocket cash. Try to get a variety of fruit growing in your town! You can find other types of fruit when you visit friends, or when they come to visit you; sometimes you’ll also earn fruit when you perform tasks for the characters in town. Try not to cluster different kinds of fruit together, though; it’s best to keep fruit segregated in their own small groves. Also be sure not to plant trees directly next to each other; try to keep at least one space on each side of a fruit tree, and don’t plant them next to rocks.

Note that you can also shake empty trees, as well. Empty trees won’t drop fruit, but they’ll often drop bags of money worth 100 Bells each. Of course, they might also drop beehives, which will issue forth the insect overlords and give you a whopper of a stung eye. If you’re quick, you might be able to use your net on the beehive and collect the bees, which are worth a few thousand bells; otherwise, you might just have to walk around with a shiner for a while.

Money Rocks

There are going to be numerous rocks scattered around your town. If you hit these with your shovel, you’ll find that one rock per day will be a money rock, and will net you numerous bags of money if you repeatedly hit them. The first bags will contain only 100 Bells, though subsequent bags will offer double the amount (200, 400, 800, and so on). Of course, you have to quickly hit the rock in order to obtain the final bags of money, and you’ll continually be pushed away as you hit the rock. If you want to get all of the bells, you’ll need to dig holes in the ground behind you before you start hitting the rock; they’ll arrest your backwards movement, and let you pound away on the rock and hopefully net all of the cash that’s coming to you.

Buildings And Characters

Your Home

Thanks to Tom Nook, you’re going to have a home of your very own as soon as you move into town. As the saying goes, though, there’s no such thing as a free lunch, and you’ll have to pay Nook back for your loan. After you’ve paid off the initial debt on your house, though, you can keep on paying Nook and earn bigger and more expensive houses to fit all of your stuff in. You initially owe Nook 19,800 bells; the costs of the bigger houses are listed below. Each house upgrade after the second will add around 35 spaces to your house.

Note that you don’t pay these funds directly to Nook; instead, you have to go to the Town Hall and place the funds into his account there, via the post office window.

Decorating: It’s important to note that, given the availability of funds and furniture, that you should try to decorate your house as best you can. As you proceed through the game, you’ll find that home auditors will periodically drop by and rank your house based on its attractiveness. Getting high scores from the Happy Room Academy will eventually unlock new items. Also, the prettier your house is, the better your feng shui will be, which translates into more luck when fishing, hitting money rocks, and in many other activities. To increase your feng shui, try to complete furniture sets, and carefully place items in your home; don’t just throw them all over the place. Anything that doesn’t fit in should be picked up and placed in storage.

Nook’s Shop

You’re going to be visiting Tom Nook’s shop quite often throughout your life in Animal Crossing. Although he’s a skinflint curmudgeon at times, Nook is going to be one of your primary sources for common items, such as tools, stationary, decorations, and so on. Note that he changes his selection of items once every day, so be sure to check back often to see what he has for sale! He’s also going to be one of your main sources of cash, since he’ll buy pretty much anything you dig up or fish out of the sea or find in a tree or steal from an old lady’s house in the middle of the night.

Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть фото Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть картинку Animal crossing wild world. Картинка про Animal crossing wild world. Фото Animal crossing wild world Don’t be surprised to see special buildings pop up from time to time.

One of the first things you should be worrying about in Animal Crossing is getting Nook to expand his store. When his store gets bigger, so will his selection of goods. How you go about doing this is simple: buy stuff. Lots of stuff. The more money you spend at Nook’s store, the bigger the store will get. Here’s a list of the different store names, and how much money you have to spend to obtain them.

In addition to the upgrades to the shop itself, there’s also a new points system that Nook uses to reward loyal shoppers. When you buy items from Nook, you’ll earn points; the more expensive an item is, the more points it’ll be worth. You can check on your point status by using the cash register inside Nook’s shop.

Able Sisters

The Able Sisters shop is much like Nook’s shop, save that it exclusively deals in fashionable clothes and accessories. If you’re looking for a new hat, shirt, umbrella, halo, clown nose, or what have you, it’ll be on sale at the Able Sisters. Like Nook’s shop, their selection does periodically rotate, so be sure to check back in often to see what new designs they have available.

In addition to buying premade clothes, Mable and Sable can also help you design your own patterns, for a price.

Town Gate

If you head as far north as you can go in your town, you should find the Town Gate somewhere in the middle of the wall there. This is the dwelling place of Copper and Booker, the two guards that watch over your town’s entrance.

Speaking to Booker will open up a few different options for you. In addition to the standard social options, he’ll also offer you a chance to chance your town’s flag design, if you wish, or claim items from the lost and found. Feel free to grab any loot you see there.

Copper is your man if you want to go visit a friend or invite a friend to visit you, or if you wish to obtain a friend code; perfect for spamming messageboards across the internet!

Town Hall

The Town Hall is the home of both the Civic Center and the Post Office. Each of these has its own specific functions.

Civic Center

The Civic Center will let you take the pulse of the town, or give up on it entirely. Here are the options for that window:

Check The Environment
If you ask about the environment, you’ll get a recommendation on what you can do to prettify your town. In general, if you want a great-looking town, you’ll need to have lots of trees planted (but keep them far enough apart that they don’t touch each other), pull up all of the weeds, water your plants, and so on and so forth. Having a beautiful town is important to obtaining the Golden Water Bucket.

Change Town Music
If you fancy yourself a musician, you can use this option of the menu to create your own musical theme that’ll play while you’re walking around.

Donations
It would appear that the faraway town of Boondox is mired in a recession, and can’t quite get out of their economic slump. In these hard times, we’re all being asked to tighten our belts and help our neighbors, and to that end, you’ll be able to give cashola donations directly to the cashier here. The more cash you give, the better the rewards that you earn. but of course, no one ever performs charity just to be rewarded, do they?

Moving
If you really hate the town that you’re living in, then you can take advantage of the Moving option here to move to a friend’s game cartridge.

Post Office

If you head off to the right a bit, you’ll find the Post Office, which has its own unique set of options.

Mail a Letter
Got something you desperately need to say? Some stationary burning a hole in your pocket? Drop off your mail here, and it’ll get where it’s going soon enough.

Pay Mortgage
If you need to pay Tom Nook some Bells to upgrade your home, you do it here, at the Post Office. Rather than paying him the money at his shop. Yeah.

Access Account
You also have a savings account at the post office. You can hold as much cash here as you like, and you’ll earn a small amount of interest on your savings, as well. If you manage to save a lot of cash, you’ll unlock more items for yourself, as well.

Save A Letter
If you’ve received something in the mail that you want to hold on to forever, feel free to pop it in here and hold on to it for posterity’s sake.

Museum

Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть фото Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть картинку Animal crossing wild world. Картинка про Animal crossing wild world. Фото Animal crossing wild world Blathers requires you to sit through 10 screens of dialogue each time you want to donate a new fossil. Nice.

The museum is going to be the place where you can store your uncovered fossils, fish, bugs, and paintings (assuming you don’t want to sell them back to Nook for bells). When you have an item in one of these categories, bring it to Blathers, the head archivist. He can identify fossils for you immediately, and accept donations of any of the above items. He can also show you the current exhibits that are available.

In addition to the museum proper, you can also head downstairs to find the café. If you sit in the seat in front of Brewster, you can order up a piping hot cup of coffee. If you drink it while it’s still warm, and keep coming back for more every day, Brewster will eventually start to act more friendly towards you. Slider will also occasionally play music down here on Saturday nights.

If, on the other hand, you head upstairs from the museum, you’ll be able to meet Celeste, the chief astronomer of the town. With her telescope, you can stargaze, or draw your own constellations for later perusal. You might even see them in the sky at some point when you’re walking around town!

After starting a New Game you will find yourself in the back seat of a taxi on a very rainy day. The driver of this taxi is Kapp’n and he will ask you a number of questions. These questions will determine how your character looks and where your house will be located in your new town.

The first question he asks is about the date and time. The time and date that is already set on your DS machine will be the default. However you can change the time with Kapp’n if you wish. The date will determine what weather you will have in town, for example if you say it is January there will be snow on the ground. The time will determine what time of day you will arrive, either morning, afternoon, evening or night.

The next thing Kapp’n says to you is: «Jumpin’ jellyfishes…I’ve had about enough of this here rain!» This question is one of three questions that will create what your character will looks like. A face chart is available below; you may want to reference it before continuing.

Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть фото Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть картинку Animal crossing wild world. Картинка про Animal crossing wild world. Фото Animal crossing wild world

Kapp’n will ask for your name and you will be prompted to enter it. This will be the permanent name for your character so be sure you are happy with it before continuing. Kapp’n will give you one chance to correct any mistakes. He will say your name as you typed it in and ask how you like it. You will have the option ‘That’s not it’ and you will be able to fix any mistakes. If you tell him the name is cute, he will assume you are a girl, and if you tell him that it is burly then he will assume you are a boy. If you select the wrong option you will have the opportunity to select «I’m not a boy/girl!» to change the gender of your character.

Next Kapp’n will ask where you are going. This is where you name your town. Again this name will be permanent so be sure it is something you like. Kapp’n will confirm this name with you in case you make any mistakes.

The next two questions will determine what your character looks like. Please refer to the face chart for reference.

The last question will determine where you house will be located in the town. Kapp’n will ask why you decided to move to this town. This is fairly straightforward. If you select the beach your house will be close to the beach. If you select shopping then your house will be close to Tom Nook and the Able sister’s shops. If you select museum then your house will be next to the museum.

Arriving in town [ edit ]

Kapp’n will take to you the Town Hall in your new town and tell you to go inside. Once inside you speak with Pelly who mentions Tom Nook, the local shopkeeper that kindly arranged a house for you. Pelly will open your town map and show you the location of your house.

When you enter your new house you will notice it is pretty empty. You should have a cardboard box, a candle and a radio. If you go upstairs you will find the ‘save room’. There is a bed in the room, this is where you will start each time you enter the game. There is also a telephone in the room. This is to access the in-game options.

When you leave the house for the first time Tom Nook will come running up to you and informs you of the 19,800 Bell debt you now have for the house! In order to make a little money Tom Nook asks you to help him out with a few errands. Using your town map you can locate Tom Nook’s shop and go find him.

Working for Nook [ edit ]

Tom Nook will give you a uniform to wear and will give you a number of tasks to complete. This is also like a tutorial. It involves planting flowers & trees, delivering items to residents in your town, writing on the town notice board and sending mail to other residents. Once you complete all the tasks required by Tom Nook he will tell you that he has no more jobs for you and that your earnings have been deducted from the loan.

Holidays such as Christmas, Halloween and Valentines Day are not present in Animal Crossing: Wild world. However, there are plenty of events to keep you busy through the year. A huge part of Animal Crossing’s uniqueness is the function that allows certain events to happen at certain days or weeks in the year. The year calendar is a loop, so 2006’s year is the same as 2007’s.

This is how the information for each holiday or event will be displayed:

When When the holiday or event will take place, regardless of year. Duration How long the holiday or event will last. Mayor Whether you can talk to Tortimer outside the town hall Gift Whether you can receive a gift for this holiday or events.

Animals will also come to visit your house and will want to buy some of your items. They will stay in your main room and will not enter any other rooms.

It is a good idea to prepare for the Flea Market by removing items you wish to keep and replacing them with items you’d like to sell. It is best to do this the day before the market. Depending on your friendship with a certain animal they may pay up to 3 times what Nook pays for an item. If done properly this can make you a lot of money. Remember that when animals receive new items for their house the sometimes put the old stuff into the recycle bin. It’s a good idea to check this throughout the day.

Each animal will only visit once and animals that are sick or are packed up will not participate.

The Acorn Festival is a week long event where you can get items of the rare Mush furniture set. Each day during the festival you will find acorns lying beneath non-fruit bearing trees. You will also notice a stranger in front of the town hall. He goes by the name ‘Cornimer’. He is in fact the mayor disguised in an acorn mask. In order to receive items from the Mush set you need to collect the acorns and give them to Cornimer.

Cornimer will also give you a Fortune each day.

Animal Crossing: Wild World is Nintendo’s DS sequel to the surprise hit Animal Crossing. This is the game that would become the basis for every following game in the series, replacing the top-down, grid-scrolling view with a front-facing, log-scrolling one, and adding a slew of new features that would become commonplace in later games (among other things, you finally have hair). As a result, it and later main-series entries provide a vastly different experience compared to the N64 and GameCube entries.

Unused Items

Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть фото Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть картинку Animal crossing wild world. Картинка про Animal crossing wild world. Фото Animal crossing wild world

Seeds

While they are popularly referred to as «seeds», the internal names for these items are usually garbled characters. They are not unused per se, as the game uses them internally when creating the town layout. However, they are normally not obtainable outside of Action Replay cheats, and for good reason.

When dropped from the inventory, they usually spawn a landscape feature: a tree, a house, a structure. and even townspeople, depending on the nature of the seed. You need to enter then exit a house to see the changes, which can’t be reversed once saved.

While used by many people just to customize their own town layout, some used them during Wi-Fi visits in other players’ towns to create game-breaking layouts that may trap players irreversibly. or worse, cause the game to crash by overloading the system and rendering the game useless if it crashes on the title screen (as the Erase File option can’t be accessed).

Paint Cans

Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть фото Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть картинку Animal crossing wild world. Картинка про Animal crossing wild world. Фото Animal crossing wild world

Nook does sell these, but the paint goes straight to your roof without ever touching your inventory. Strangely, they’re found in the player’s guide.

Beehive

Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть фото Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть картинку Animal crossing wild world. Картинка про Animal crossing wild world. Фото Animal crossing wild world

The beehive instantly disappears when it is dropped from the tree, rendering the item unused. In Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, this can be obtained normally.

Sold Out Sign

Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть фото Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть картинку Animal crossing wild world. Картинка про Animal crossing wild world. Фото Animal crossing wild world

A sold out sign similar to the ones from the first two games.

Four-Leaf Clover

Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть фото Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть картинку Animal crossing wild world. Картинка про Animal crossing wild world. Фото Animal crossing wild world Though it’s used when the player picks it up at random from clovers, the singular item itself will be replanted as clovers. It is under special items but cannot be worn by the player. It was later used in Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

Cardboard Boxes

Comes in sets of 2, 4, and 5. While the items themselves are unused, their graphics are used for neighbors moving in or out. In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, they became available as items.

Big Rug1

Tom Nook’s unused catalog version of the Exotic Wall.

Big Rug2

Tom Nook’s unused catalog version of the Exotic Rug.

Honey Comb

Incorrectly uses the leaf graphics when you are inside your house, but uses its normal graphics outside.

Invisible Chair

Two of these are programmed into the game, in fact.

Unused Floor/Wallpaper Sets

There are four unused flooring and wallpaper sets for Nook’s Cranny, Nook ‘n’ Go, Nookway, and Nookington’s upstairs.

Get Cash

Sell fruit, fish, shells, bugs, or other unused stuff to Nook. He’ll only give you 25% of what you paid for the item though.

Sell stuff at the Flea Market (Third Saturday of Each Month). You’ll be able to get twice as much as you’d get from Nook. You can’t sell bugs or fish at the Flea Market though.

Maximize your time by not selling cheaper fish. You’re better off throwing it back in the water and fishing for more expensive fish. That way you won’t have to go back and forth between Nook’s and the river/sea so many times.

Maximize your time by not selling cheaper shells. Only pick up White Scallops and Pearl Oysters. They’re the most and expensive. You may also find coconuts wash ashore. Pick them up and plant them near the shore to grow palm trees. Each coconut is worth 500 bells!

Send presents to the villagers in your letters and they’ll send you furniture or different kinds of fruit that are not native to your town. They’re worth 500 bells instead of 100, but if you plant them you’ll have many trees with lots of fruits that are worth 500 bells! You can also get non-native fruits by visiting your friends’ towns via DS to DS connection or WiFi.

Deposit money in your bank account and you’ll earn interest every month. You can also cheat by changing the date and get a lot of money in interest. However, be careful because the town will be full of weeds. If you decide to do it, you might as well do it several times to make it worthwile.

Shake trees and you’ll find a few bells here and there or even hidden furniture. If the bees come out, they will most likely sting you, but you should try to catch them, as they’re worth 4,500 bells at Nook’s!

Fish at the ocean at night time, when it’s snowing or raining. If you see a huge fish shadow, go get it! It will be a living fossil fish, which is worth 15,000 bells.

Hit all the rocks in town once a day. One of them will contain money bags. Hit it several times consecutively, and you’ll get more money (sometimes up to 20,000 bells!). You can dig three holes around yourself and the rock so when you hit it you don’t accidentally step back. You have to do this before hitting each rock for the first time though.

When you see “stars” in the ground, use your shovel to dig out a fossil, which you can donate at the museum (for free) or sell it to Nook for big bucks after it’s been identified by Blathers the owl. Sometimes it won’t be a fossil, but you can still sell the Gyroids. Pitfall seeds are worthless though.

You’ll receive money in a letter from your Mom on January 1st – It will contain 10,000 bells.

House and Store Upgrades

Expand your house with extra rooms by paying off your mortgage. This is what it will cost you, and the expansion will be built in this order:

First House Expansion: 19,800 Bells
Second House Expansion: 120,000 Bells
Upstairs Room: 298,000 Bells
Left Room: 598,000 Bells
Right Room: 728,000 Bells
Back Room: 848,000 Bells

Nook’s Store Upgrades

Nook will make his store bigger and better the more you shop at it.

Nook’s Cranny: Available from the beginning.
Nook ‘n Go: Spend 25,000 Bells in merchandise.
Nookway: Spend 65,000 Bells in merchandise.
Nookingtons: Spend 240,000 Bells in merchandise and have a friend who visits you via WiFi buy something from Tom Nook. You’ll also get the hair salon!

Nook’s Store Point Rewards

Shop at Nook’s a lot to become a store member. You’ll get reward points by shopping at Nook’s, and eventually you’ll also obtain discounts and cute Store Models.

300 PIM points: Nook’s Cranny model and store membership
3,000 PIM points: Nook’ n Go model and 5% discount
10,000 PIM points: Nookway model and 10% discount
20,000 PIM points: Nookington’s model and 20% discount

Restock Nook’s Store
If the store is getting empty and you want more items to shop today, just save the game and then use the telephone when you restart it. Select “Reset Clock” and Nook’s store will be full of merchandise all over again.

Restock an Item at Nook’s
If you want an item you just bought to become available at Nook’s again, save your game, change the clock to an earlier or later date, save, and then return to the original date. The item will be at Nook’s again.

Special Objects

If you got the Massage Chair, give it to Tortimer on the next holiday and he’ll give you the Scallop Seashell.

If you get enough points from the HRA (Happy Room Academy), you’ll win the following House Models:

One Story House Model: 70,000 points
Two Story House Model: 100,000 points

Purple and black flowers will make you a better candidate at the Flower Fest. Nook doesn’t sell them. They will grow in town randomly once a week. Pick them up, put them in your dresser, and use them all when it’s time for the Flower Fest.

Other Hints and Secrets

Mr. Resetti’s Home
Turn off the DS without saving a couple of times so Resetti can give you his lecture. After that, start hitting all the rocks in town until one of them breaks open. Hit it again and enter the hole. You’ll see Mr. Resetti’s home!

Tom Nook’s Home
If you go to the back of the shop between midnight and 2 a.m. and hit the back wall three times with your shovel and then hit the front entrance one more time, Nook will come out in pajamas and with a teddy bear!

Custom Inventory Background
Choose a shirt pattern and apply it to the screen by dragging it to the lower left corner. You can do this from the pattern inventory or with a shirt you like.

Room Color
When you first start playing Animal Crossing, the color of your first room will be the same as your color on the DS menu. If you want a different color, remember to change it first on the DS menu.

Lyle’s Insurance
Buy insurance from Lyle the first time he asks you. From then on, every time you trip or get stung by bees, you’ll get a letter with 100 bells. After that, don’t talk to him or he’ll make you pay more and more for the insurance.

Hidden Stuff in Rocks
If a neighbor is looking at a rock, there might be something in it. Hit it with a shovel and something will come out of it, possibly a Pill Bug.

Free Furniture
Go to the Town Hall and open the recycling container. It may have furniture or other cool stuff. You can also go to the Gate and talk to Booker (dog on the left) to see if he has any objects in the “Lost & Found.”

Making Animals Stay when they want to Move Out of Town
When you visit a neighbor and he/she’s packed everything and is ready to leave, keep talking to them and tell them not to leave until they start reconsidering their decision.

Keep the Neighbors at Home
If you have trouble finding neighbors when you need them, just go to the gate, ask Copper to establish a connection from DS to DS so you can have visitors, and then every neighbor will be home. Don’t forget to close the gate when you’re done so you don’t use too much battery!

Make your Neighbors Angry
Walk into the neighbors and push them around or hit them with the shovel or bug net. They’ll become mad and steam will come out of their heads.

Cure Bee Stings without Medicine
If you get stung and don’t want to spend money on medicine or the store is closed, simply go to your attic and sleep, save the game, and restart it. When it reloads, your face will be perfect again!

Nature’s Punishment
Play your game at least once a week, or the next time you go back to it, the town will be full of weeds and your flowers may be gone or dying. Same thing will happen if you start cheating by changing the date radically.

Finding out if a Painting is a Counterfeit (Before you Buy)
Walk towards the item and press A. Crazy Redd will tell you the price. The item is a fake if there’s a thought bubble over his head and he says one of the following things:
“It’s a very nice item” / “It took ol’ Redd a long time to get his hands on that!” / “It took a lot of wheeling and dealing” / “When it comes to items for Crazy Redd’s family, I won’t stop ’til I get it!” / “I’m gonna offer it to you for only — Bells!” If the item is very cheap, it’s probably fake too.

Finding out if a Painting is a Counterfeit (After you Buy)
Once you buy a painting, you can go to Nook’s and see if the painting you bought is part of the catalog. If it’s not, then it’s a forgery and you should sell it to Nook instead of having Blathers appraise it (lowers the price). If it is on the catalog, then it’s an original and you can go donate it at the museum.

Crazy Redd’s Passwords

He requires these to let you enter his tent and shop. If you’re a member, you’ll receive them in a letter every week. If not, a neighbor will tell you the password eventually so you can go and become a member.

Cheats [ ]

Animal Crossing: Wild World Cheats

When you turn on Animal Crossingdon’t click on your character yet. Click on the phone and it’ll ask you what you want to do say, Reset Clock. Then set the date too 1/1/2000 (Or any year you want) then say confirm than you can click on your character. Check your mail, there should me mail from your mom she would attach a present to the letter inside the present is 10,000. Use at your own risk you might lose some neighbors.

P.S. Every time you use this cheat make sure you fastforward a year later. For example, if I use the cheats I’ll set the date to 1/1/2000 and I go check my mail then my mom will give me 10,000 bells than if I choose to do this cheat again I’ll save than set the clock to 1/1/2001. A year at a time!

Entry Location: Rocks

If you want the Pill bug well your in luck. to get the pill bug hit all the rocks in your town with a shovel or an axe, until a black dot comes flying out! (That black dot is the Pill bug!) Then pull out your net and catch the pill bug while you have a chance, if you don’t catch it will disappear. If it does disappear then keep on hitting the same rock over and over again ’till a black dot comes out!

Faster Shop Upgrades

Entry Location: When the shop is upgrading

When Tom Nook is upgrading the shop, save and quit. Turn on your DS and go to the DS Options. Set the day to 2 days ahead. Quit the options, saving when you do. Start up the DS and go to options again. Set the day 2 days back (to the current day.) Now save options and restart DS one more time. Now start the game. Nook’s shop should have upgraded and is open!

See Tom Nook’s house.

Take a regular shovel and hit the back of Tom Nook’s store three times, then hit the front door one time to see Tom Nook in his PJ’S holding a teddy bear!

Fast Bank Interest

To get more money on Animal Crossing you have to put money in the bank. Then SAVE and turn off the DS. Turn the DS back on and go to the DS symbol at the bottom of the screen where you select game. Select it and go right one to the symbol of a calender and a clock. Select it and then go up to the calender symbol and select it. You will probably see that your year setting is set to whatever year it is. (for example 2006.) Go accross to the year column and change it to 2099. Then select confirm, go back, and then QUIT. Then it will say «The system will now shut down» and you must select yes. Turn the DS back on and select Animal Crossing Wild World. Continue your game and you will have gained interest.

If you want to save your villagers, just choose one you don’t like. Ignore it for awhile, and eventually it will leave. The next day, you should find a new one of the same personality (ex:Mathilda leaving, Olivia replacing, both are snooty) will move in. Don’t talk to or even meet the new one. It will move out, and another villager with the same personality will appear. This way, you can save 7 of your 8 villagers!

Entry Location: title screen

If you turned your game off without saving last time you played, DON’T PRESS CONTINUE. At the title screen, click new resident and make one willy-nilly. Then save and exit after that and continue with the character that didn’t save. Mr. Reseti won’t bother you!! anytime you don’t save when you turn your game off, continue as the willy-nilly character.

When you have a mushroom, leave it if you want a four leaf clover. You will have a lot of weeds to pull, but anyway, when you find the gray three leaf clovers pick them. Among them is a four leaf clover if you don’t find one in that area, look somewhere else. Remember, you will have to pull weeds by pressing B. The clovers will be in groups.

Go to a friend’s town and get some fruit, then go back to your town and bury the fruit. When the tree is done growing sell the fruit to Tom Nook.

Tell somebody to visit your town, and before you know it your mail has arrived.

Give Your Girls Pigtails

If you have Nookingtons, go to the hair salon and Harriet will ask you some questions. On the first question answer «big nights.» On the second question answer «unfortunately.» On the third question answer «cold.» Then she will give you a list of names and you have to pick «Mysterious.»

Annoy Your Neighbors

This is a perfect way to get rid of neighbors you don’t want. Just make sure you’ve visited a friend’s town before! First, buy a net. Once you find the neighbor you want out, or just want to annoy, equip the net and hit them with it! Keep hitting them over and over. They’ll probably whine and ask why you did that. If you accidently talk to them, just say, ‘I don’t need you!’ or any other option that gets you out of the conversation.

But don’t write threat letters! Next time you talk to them, they’ll be all proud that they got a letter, and they won’t notice what it says!

Set the date to July or August, get a fishing rod, and go to the sea side and look along the water. If you see a big fish with a shark-like fin sticking out of the water, quickly cast. When you pull it up, it will be a shark, hammer head, or ocean sun fish. Sell it to Tom Nooks and you could get up to 30,000 bells!

During the winter, you’ll see two snowballs around your town. Roll both of them into a medium size, then stack them onto each other. If the snowman likes himself, you’ll get a rare piece of snowman furniture the next day. Also, if you roll the snowballs into the lower left corner of the town, the snowman will like himself even more and send you two pieces of rare snowman furniture instead of one.

Multiple Prizes from Fishing Tournaments

On the day before the fishing tourney, catch a few big but not valuable fish. Then fast forward to the day of the tourney, and give your fish to Tortimer in order of smallest to biggest. Instead of getting just one present, you will get more.

Different Hair Styles for Girls

You can go into the salon and choose your own style and color by answering a few of Harriet’s questions. To get your hair pulled up in a hair-tie, answer «big nights» to her first question, «duh» to her second question and «RAWK!» to type of song.

Of course there are many different styles, but I don’t know exactly what they are. I hope you all like what you come up with. But remember, getting your hair done costs a whopping 3,000 bells! So think about it before you drop your cash for an ugly hair-do!

Customize Your Town Tunes

Go to the left station of Town Hall, click any employee and click town tunes. Now you can edit the tune that plays whenever you talk to someone or sometimes when you enter a building. Drag the frog face up and down to get lower and higher notes. Here are some examples of the many tunes you can create (lower case letters stand for the lower form of the note, higher case stands for the higher form, and underscores stand for the middle):

After you get a golden shovel, you’ll find a dog lying under one of the beds in your house.

Become Friends with Sabel

To make friends with Sabel (the Able sister who works at the sewing machine), go to the shop and talk to her once every day for 1 week. You’ll become friends and she’ll will tell you secrets that no one else knows about the town, the townspeople, Tom Nook, Pelly, the Mayor, and others.

Entry Location: Near a town member

If you fall into a pitfall seed hole near a town member they’ll run and help you!

Friend’s Town Fruit

Entry Location: Any friends town ( d.s to d.s!)

This is a cool trick! If you visit your friend’s town, they have different fruit from you. Well, you can shake their trees and get their fruit, take it back to your town and sell it! Or, take your shovel and bury the fruit, then within 24 hours, you will have a tree growing with their fruit! Every week or so, their fruit will grow on your tree! You can sell it for 500 bells! You can grow as many fruit trees as you like!

In the rocks all around the town, there are hidden bells inside them. all you have to do is take your shovel out, and pound on the rocks. Only one rock a day though. But, pound on it as many times as you can until the rock stops spitting out bells. I believe the highest bells is a 2,000 bell bag.

Don’t you hate it when one of your most favorite towns friend has to move?? Well, you can stop it! All you have to do is send them a well written letter to them (buy letters at nooks place), and add a good gift too, it helps a lot. Send it ASAP though! because if you wait till the next day, they might have already moved! Now you know how to keep your best friend with you!

If you ever have a mushroom growing in your town, then dig it up before it gets any bigger. If it does, then your in trouble!T-R-O-U-B-L-E! That means you have a BAD town. Once it grows all the way, you can’t dig it up!

Change your Saving Bed

Go up into your saving room and stand at the end of the bed and press B and it asks you do you want a different bed say yes and choose your bed! When you save you will sleep in that bed and when you load your person you wake up from that bed.

If you want something you bought go to your mailbox go faster:

1. Buy something in Tom Nook’s catalog 2. Save and turn off your DS 3. Turn it back on, go to your mailbox and it will be there

Entry Location: Anywhere there’s cracks

If you see a star-shaped crack in the ground, ALWAYS run over it first. If nothing happens when you run over it, it is something that you could sell. If you fall in, you have fallen into a pitfall seed (trap). To get out of it, keep pressing A button or tap yourself over and over again.

Escape from the Mole

Entry Location: Outside your house

Entry Location: flower fest/ neighbours houses

If you want to get the flower fest trophy (which sells for 20,000 bells or gets loads of points for the HRA) simply steal everyone’s flowers and plant them round your house you will win every time. To win more just buy all the flowers at Nook’s

Presents and Fruits

If you want to have different kinds of fruits in your town you will have to send your townsfolks your starter fruits (e.g. apples) and they will send you new kinds such as oranges, peaches, cherries and pears. Now with these new kinds of fruits you can do many things: sell them to earn good money or send them to your townsfolks to get rare presents so you can avoid buying other presents to send them.

During a spotlight product day, if it is a king tut mask, buy it. If you have insurance from Lyle, wear the mask and run around. It must cover your eyes because I trip all the time wearing it. Every time you trip you get 100 bells.

Win the Flower Contest

Hey are you running low on cash but you want to win the flower contest? Well now you can get the flowers for free! All you do is steal everyone’s flowers, then you will always win!

You can change the color of your roof. To do this you need to start over or start if you haven’t started yet. Before you start change the color of your DS background by going to the menu. What ever color your DS menu is that is the color your roof will be when you first make a character.

Become Friends with Blathers

If you talk to Blathers when he is depressed-looking, he will say that he detests bugs. Eventually, if you keep talking to him every day for a few days, he will explain how he is trying to overcome his fear, then how he finally gives up.

Entry Location: Rocks

If you hit a rock with a shovel or an axe, a black dot will fly out out onto the ground. Quickly pull out your net and swap it before it gets away and you’ll have a pill bug.

If you realize that one of your neighbors isn’t walking around town like the others but is inside their house, then they are either packing, sick, or just inside. If they are sick, then you will notice little swirly things over their heads and they are slumping. They will tell you weird things and will be a little delirious. After they are done, they will give you 3 choices to say something back. Pick the first one and bring them medicine for the next three days. If you don’t do this all of the days in a row, then they will stay like this longer but it will still be three from where you left off. On the fourth day, they will still be in their house. Go and visit him or her and they will be welll again. Talk to him or her and he or she will thank you. Then he or she will give you a present. It most likely won’t be something rare but can be something new.

Become Friends with Sable

Whenever you visit the Able Sisters store and try to talk to Sable the hedgehog, she ignores you, or tells you to talk to her sister because she’s busy. To build a «friendship» with Sable, you must talk to her at least once every day for several days. Eventually, she will start talking to you.

Become Friends with Brewster

Once a day you can buy coffee at the cafe. If you buy coffee from Brewster every day he will start asking you questions and treating you like a friend. He will ask if he can put special ingredients in your coffee and thank you for coming by.

Once you have the Golden Shovel, you can bury money and it will grow into a tree. The more money you bury, the more money the tree will grow.

Get Flying Presents

On the top screen of your Nintendo DS, you will sometimes see a balloon with a present tied to it. The only way to get it is if you buy a slingshot from Tom Nook and hit the balloon.

At night time when the stars are out you might see a shooting star. When you do, tap your character or press A. The next day you will get a present in the mail.

When Lyle comes to your town he will follow you around everywhere. If you talk to him he will ask a questionniare then try to get you to buy his insurance. His insurance says whenever you get stung by a bee he will send you 100 bells in the mail. By it for 3000 bells. When you buy it he will ask you when you want Redd to come to your town. Tell him whatever day you prefer and he will set up a tent. He will send you some passwords to get into his tent. When you go into his tent he will have very rare items believe me it is worth it. P.S. Lyle will come back to your town and offer insurance again. Do not talk to him because he will charge you 6000 bells and he will keep doubling the price every time you talk to him.

The Right Way to Sell a Shark

The right way to sell a shark is to catch it from the ocean. Do NOT sell it to Tom Nook for 15,000 bells. Insted wait for a «Flea Market Day» and sell it for 30,000 bells! If you say no to your customer and have another customer come in to look at your shark you can sell it for 32,000 bells! Remember to place your shark in your room.

100 Bells from Lyle

First Buy Health Insurance From Lyle (if he comes a second time don’t buy from him again). Then go and buy the King Tut Wig, shake trees and wait for the bees to sting you, or let a mosquito bite you. In the next week Lyle should send you 100 bells in the mail.

Entry Location: Change the date

Before you pick your person, use the pic on the phone and it’ll ask you what you need. Then press Reset clock and change the date to December 31, and any year you want. After that, pick your person and go outside and go to your mailbox and there might be a lettter from Mom. Inside is a present. Open it and it’s a shirt or something else. (It might not work on the first time.)

Sometime in the game you will see a U.F.O. in the sky. If you have a slingshot shoot it down. It will crash land somewhere in your town. When you find him talk to him 2 times and he should ask you to help him find pieces to his ship. Once you have found all the pieces he will give you a present.

Bell Rocks = Easy Money

Entry Location: In your town

There is a rock in your town. Hit it with a shovel it will spit a bag out; keep doing this. It will stop soon. (Anyone who says you can only do this once is wrong, you can do this after 6am & 6pm)

No Need for Watering Cans

Entry Location: Tree sightings

The best way to grow a tree is to plant it when it’s raining because it will grow automatically and won’t need to be watered. Another way to make them grow automatically is to first chop down an unneeded tree, then take your shovel and dig it out, and dont FILL IN THE HOLE. Instead take the fruit you want and bury it. It shoud start growing by the next day. You don’t need a watering can for either of these methods.

Entry Location: Your house, Flea market day

1) Plant a flower outside. Then, use B to grab it. Go to your inventory. Use the stylus to drag the flower over to you. Doing this will put the flower on you! If the flower is a rose, it will go in your mouth, like some sort of romantic movie. If not, it will go on your head.

2) Plant a flower outside. Then, use B to grab it. Go inside your house. Go to your inventory. Then, place the flower on the ground, like it was furniture. It will act as a flower in a pot. =)

Evil Redd’s Evil Plan

Redd’s furniture may be cool but his «valuable» paintings are not! If you buy one of his paintings and try to give it to the museum, you will find that the painting is a fake! Then if you try to sell it, Nook wil only buy it for 10 coins.

Don’t give a painting to the art gallery if it is fake! To check if it is, go to Tom Nook’s and ask for a catolog. Go to the bottom of furniture list and if the name of the art work is not listed bury it or try and sell it or give it as a gift in the mail. If you send it in the mail the person you sent it to will send you something cool back!

Entry Location: 6:00 a.m. or 5:30 p.m., in front of town hall

At the time above, look in the sky and you will see Pete. Shoot him down with your sling shot and get to know him. Do it every day and he will start to like you. If you’re a girl, Pelly will get mad, if not, talk to Pelly. You will have an interesting discusion!

Easy Win for Friendly Bug Catching

If you meet a resident who wants to challenge you to a bug catching contest, do the contest and try to win. After you do that, go catch as many rare bugs as you can before he challenges you again. When he challenges you, catch a bug. Soon after, run back to the person and show him one of the RARE bugs you have. You might win.

Pear + Pear + Pear = Coconut

Entry Location: Down at any beach

If you go down to any beach and drop 3 pears side by side (they can have a space between them) in a few days there will be a coconut! Coconuts are worth 500 bells! Approximately 1-5 days.

These are the steps in order:

1) get 90,000 bells 2) get the golden shovel (get it by burying a shovel for 24 hours and digging it up) 3) get an axe 4) cut down a tree 5) dig up the stump with the gold shovel 6) plant the money in the hole where the stump was 7) when the tree is fully grown, it should hold 90,000 bells

Note: if you do this, you do not lose money or gain money. this trick is mainly for decoration.

Crazy Reds Passwords

Ask and you shall: Be charged An open wallet: Is often empty Bottom dollar: Top dog Crazy Redd: Is 35 Even robbers: Have safes Fan in one hand: Cash in other Foot in the door: Eye on the prize For my fans: Shop here again Get an education: Or win it big Give 2 cents: Ask for change Head in the sand: Find something Hot and cold: Money makes it I’m all alone: But I have cash Life exectancy: Redd is 35 Look at people: Wallets full Look back: What did you miss No money: Means no fun Roses have: High prices Rough childhood: Lax adulthood Spoiled rotten: Bean curd Talk is cheap: So is Redd The grass is greener: On my side The pen: is cheaper Tom Nook: One ugly fellow What smells?: Bean curd Whats inside: Is fabulous When the cat’s gone: Mice shop Why buy the cow: Buy milk here

Get a Perfect Town Rating

First, divide your town into 16 x 16 acre squares, similar to the acres in Animal Crossing for Gamecube. You can use patterns on the ground to mark the acres. Next, make sure every acre has 12-14 trees that aren’t touching each other. Then add 3 flowers to every acre and you should have a perfect rating, as long as there are no weeds or trash in your town.

Hit all the rocks in town with a shovel or axe until you find one that releases a money bag. Hit it as many times as you can until it stops releasing bags of money. The next day a new rock will be the money rock, so look for it every day.

Animal Crossing: Wild World

Entry Location: At the beginning when you are getting out of bed with your person.

Ed. note: it has been reported that this cheat is false.

At the beginning when you are getting out of bed with your person there is a swirling arrow thing. Put your pen around where the arrow is and it will change the sound of the game!

Entry Location: Anywhere

You will notice sometimes in the game Dandelion Puffs will come up. Grab one and drag it to your character. He/she will be holding it. Now press A while holding it to blow on it.

Gulliver (in the UFO) can be shot down out of the sky. After you give him his 5 parts, he gives you a gift. But he has a certain limit on his gifts (14). On the 15th time fixing up his UFO, he’ll tell you that he’s out of gifts (uh-oh). He says the next time he comes here, he’ll have an idea of something to give/do to you. So, wait until the next time he comes over. Shoot him down (for the 16th time) and collect his parts. He’ll say he knows how to reward you, and you will find out tomorrow. When you go outside your house, Gulliver will greet you and ask you to follow him. He’ll bring you to his ship and you and him will get in it. He’ll take off and after a minute of seeing stars, you’ll land on the moon. You won’t find much, you can see craters and the earth, but not much else. The only interesting thing is this weird plant. It has 1 piece of fruit, shake it off. You will find that the whole «tree» falls down. You can pick up the fruit and the «tree». The «tree» can be used as furniture and the fruit picked, so you can harvest more «trees».

Warning: Don’t sell the fruit. It’s only 1,000 bells and you’d have to revisit the moon (on your 32nd, 48th, 64th, etc. time of helping Gulliver you’ll get the same offer. It’s basically a repeat, of the pattern you’ve already followed, so ya) to get a new one. The «trees» are cool in the house, and fit well with the space theme. They have an eerie green glow, and they have purple «bark». Very alien like.

How to Change Your Inventory Background

Grab a shirt or pattern. Drag it to the lower left corner, to the empty space, and drop it.

Woes of Sable and Nook

Entry Location: Something is happening with Sable and Nook, and you can learn about their history

At some point, you’ll notice Nook and Sable feeling low. If you talk to Sable and let her continue talking, you’ll learn that she knew Nook before he was a business tycoon. You can do the same thing with Nook, just choose the option of asking what’s wrong, and he’ll talk about his problematic past.

When you have the second store, you can take a shovel between 12:00 a.m. and 2:00am, and go hit the back of the second Nooks store and the wall will fall down. Then you will see Nook sleeping in his PJs holding a teddy bear! (This might work with other stores, but you must do it at the right time I told you)

Animal Crossing: Wild World Glitches

Heal Yourself for Free!

Just got stung by a bee? It happens to all of us. So you’re just about to waste hundreds of Bells on some meds. Stop! You don’t have to do that!

Just save. Then turn the DS off, then back on. Select Animal Crossing from the DS menu and log into your town. Instantly healed!

One thing, though. If you’re going around shaking every single tree in your town, and you’re only halfway there, might as well save later. I can almost assure you that you’re gonna get stung again. It just saves time. And you don’t lose your place.

Entry Location: At Nook’s store (he has 4 different types)

Did you notice that if you try to sell Nook a piece of junk (boot, tire, can) he says he wont buy it? Well to sell it to him just sell it with another item (example:shirt, furniture) and he will accept it and pay you 100 bells for it.

When you are on a walk, you might run over a blue question block, if the question block turns out to be another dog, your dog and the other dog you met might move in slow motion.

Get rid of annoying villagers!

Entry Location: Wherever the villager is/Outside the villagers house

To get rid of somebody you hate, follow my 5 foolproof steps:

NOTE: These steps do not make them move instantly. Continue regularly. DO NOT SEND HATE MAIL BECAUSE THEY’LL JUST BE HAPPY THEY GOT A LETTER!

Animal Crossing: Wild World

Animal Crossing: Wild World

Animal Crossing: Wild World [a] is a 2005 social simulation video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo DS handheld game console. It was released in Japan in November 2005, in North America and Australia in December 2005, and in Europe in March 2006. It is the second installment in the Animal Crossing series, and the sequel to Animal Crossing on the GameCube.

Wild World focuses on living in a remote village populated with anthropomorphic animals, where the player character is encouraged to perform any number of tasks, such as collecting and planting. Like all Animal Crossing titles, the game is synced to the console’s clock and calendar, allowing the game to be played in real-time, which affects the occurrence of in-game events based on the current time of day or season. Wild World utilized Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, which allowed players to travel and visit the villages of other players via online play, until the service was shut down in May 2014. [1]

The game received positive reviews upon release, garnering aggregate scores of 86/100 on Metacritic and GameRankings. [2] [3] Wild World is the ninth best-selling game on the Nintendo DS with 11.75 million copies sold worldwide as of March 31, 2016. [4] It was additionally re-released on the Wii U Virtual Console in October 2016. [5]

This music always hits me in the feels because of the memories as a kid playing every morning before school.

It would be a perfect list if you included the rainy day and christmastime versions of each hourly song like they are on the GameCube edition of this list. Thank you so much for making these available for my downloadable pleasure.

Wild World removes several features and the playable NES games, in favor of adding online play with friend codes. In order to get around the issue of international online play, most real-world holidays were excised, with a small handful of generic ones offered in their place. The «acre» system was removed and replaced with the «Rolling Log» effect that the series is now known for, with the new visibility of the sky leading to new features such as the ability to shoot down floating presents with a slingshot and the ability to make constellations to view when outside at night. Notoriously, the game also introduced the use of Nintendo Zone DLC, which is the only way to get monkey villagers, making monkey villagers a case of No Export for You for those who live in places where Nintendo did not roll out the service (as well as a case of Permanently Missable Content considering the shut down of the Nintendo Zone service).

On the side of additions, the game introduces a much greater level of customization for the player, allowing them to wear not only shirts, but also different face accessories and hats (having previously been restricted to clothes that would occupy both their shirt and matching hat). The player is also now able to change their hair color and hairstyle through Shampoodle, a salon that becomes unlockable late in the game, and are able to pluck flowers and wear them in their hair or mouths as accessories. The game also makes considerable use of the DS’s touch controls, allowing the player to switch between touch controls and traditional button controls on the fly. Similarly to Super Mario 64 DS, the player can use the touch screen as a substitute for an analog stick when controlling their character, but can also use it to organize inventories, write letters, and design patterns.

Perhaps the biggest new feature is the addition of online multiplayer (via the DS’s ever-controversial «friend code» system), which became a considerable focus of both the game’s marketing and its gameplay — some services are outright exclusive to multiplayer. Due to being one of the system’s best-selling games, it helped popularize the DS’s online capabilities, alongside Mario Kart DS. Thankfully, for those who either didn’t have access to Wi-Fi at the time (given that the technology was still relatively nascent in 2005) or are playing after the 2014 shutdown of Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, the game still allows for local multiplayer through having two DSes and Wild World game cards in the same room.

An Japan-only animated film based upon this game, Animal Crossing: The Movie, was released in 2006. The Wii’s Animal Crossing: City Folk is a amalgamation of the previous two games, with some of the events based on real-life returning from the first game, while still retaining the Rolling Log effect from Wild World.

Animal Crossing: Wild World/House Expansion

The house is where the player can display items they have collected. As you progress through the game you can expand your living space through the Town Hall. Houses can be furnished with many different items; this opens up possibilities for higher scores with the Happy Room Academy.

One of the first things you have to do when you arrive in town is to arrange the location of a home with Kapp’n. When you speak with Kapp’n you will have the option to chose the location of your new home. Including next to the Beach, Town Hall, Museum, Tom Nook’s and Able Sisters Store, the border.

House expansion follows a set path that will eventually create a two-story mansion with an attic. Each expansion costs more Bells than the last, and you can’t get a new expansion before you pay off your home loan to Tom Nook via the Bank.

Animal crossing wild world

Lyle is an otter with blue-gray skin and a white muzzle and chest. He has small, circular eyes with black irises, and his cheeks have small freckles, he also has long whiskers.

In Wild World, his apparel consists of a brown suit and large, horn-rimmed glasses, and he is seen carrying a briefcase. In City Folk and New Leaf, he holds a black folder instead. He wears a Happy Room Academy uniform that consists of a dark red blazer over a white shirt and yellow necktie, with gray pants and brown shoes. He also wears this uniform in New Leaf as a representative of the Happy Home Academy.

In Wild World

Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть фото Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть картинку Animal crossing wild world. Картинка про Animal crossing wild world. Фото Animal crossing wild world

Lyle, as he appears in Wild World.

Lyle makes his first appearance in Wild World working as an insurance salesman. He appears every Saturday outside the player’s house to issue a survey. He will follow the player quite persistently if his request is not met. The survey will initiate a «health insurance policy» once completed. By paying 3,000 Bells the player will receive insurance.

Insurance grants 100 Bells in the mail for each misfortune. Misfortunes include tripping, being stung by bees, or receiving counterfeit paintings (the latter after his second visit). The 100 Bells bonus can only be received once per day. A further payment of 6,000 Bells on the following Saturday will result in the player receiving compensation of 100 Bells if they buy a counterfeit painting, but only if the painting itself is presented to Lyle in person.

Normal villagers sometimes warn of a health insurance scam operating in the area, which is most likely a reference to Lyle. Some jock villagers talk about «muscle insurance».

It is implied in-game that Lyle has connections with Redd, as during the survey he will ask the player which day is optimal for Redd to show up (without directly mentioning Redd).

Lyle will also appear at The Roost from 12:00 PM to 1:30 P.M. on a Sunday.

In City Folk

Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть фото Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть картинку Animal crossing wild world. Картинка про Animal crossing wild world. Фото Animal crossing wild world

Lyle appears to have a more respectable job in City Folk, working in the Happy Room Academy Headquarters in the City. He will mention how much he hates his new job, and frequently talks of his old, «high-flying» lifestyle. He seems to be calmer, but this may only be to fit in with his new ‘happy’ job. He only references «bustin’ [his] chops» once, if the player refuses to join the HRA.

When talked to, his persistent nature leads him to continue talking with the player until they agree to join the Happy Room Academy. An advert for the HRA, with his picture on it, can be seen in the bus, behind Kapp’n’s seat.

He makes no reference to his past lifestyle in Wild World other than his frequent complaints and mentions of his old office when the player first talks to him. He does not talk about Redd or Crazy Redd’s, which is located nearby, despite the implications in Wild World that they were connected. Lyle no longer visits the Roost in City Folk.

At the Happy Room Academy Headquarters, the player can also speak with Lyle in order to find out their current «HRA evaluation» or to stop the weekly flow of evaluation letters. When the player asks about their latest evaluation, he will tell the player how many points they’ve earned for their house (this will also be mentioned in a letter the player receives after evaluation day).

It is suggested that he may have once been a grave-digger or fossil hunter, because if the player’s house becomes the model room and has a particularly valuable fossil in it, Lyle will mention that he used to dig up bones in «the yard. Not the backyard, the other yard. «. This may also reference grave robbery, given Lyle’s shady past.

In New Leaf

Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть фото Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть картинку Animal crossing wild world. Картинка про Animal crossing wild world. Фото Animal crossing wild world

Lyle returns in New Leaf. He works with Tom Nook in his real estate agency, Nook’s Homes. He is in charge of the Happy Home Academy aspect of the business and seems to enjoy his job more than he did in City Folk. He is more all-around pleasant, although he still makes a few side complaints about his co-workers being annoying. Every so often, when the player comes to ask about their home evaluation, the player is given the option of asking Lyle, «What’s new?». If this option is selected, Lyle will proceed to tell the player about his interactions with other store owners on main street, such as Leif and the Able Sisters (he also may hint towards the relationship between the Able Sisters and Tom Nook). This function replaces the «episodes» that were removed as of New Leaf.

Lyle also appears on a Happy Home Academy advertisement that occasionally is displayed on the Video Screen public works project.

In Dōbutsu no Mori

Lyle in Dōbutsu no Mori, seated next to Dr. Shrunk.

Lyle makes a small appearance in Geijōban Dōbutsu no Mori. He is seen in the audience of K.K. Slider’s performance at the Fireworks Festival. He wears the same suit as he does in Wild World. He does not talk and makes no other appearance in the film.

In Happy Home Designer

In Happy Home Designer, Lyle is still working at Nook’s Homes. His niece, Lottie, is also working there now. Though he is prominent in the beginning of the game and sets up the amiibo Phone, afterwards he has a minor role in the game, and remains on the second floor area of Nook’s Homes. If the player speaks to him, he will offer them helpful tips.

He also can be called via the amiibo Phone for the player to design his home. The player can also invite him to other character’s homes via his amibo Card.

In Pocket Camp

Lyle returns to the Happy Home Academy, and is now a judge for the Happy Homeroom.

In New Horizons

In New Horizons, Lyle does not make an appearance physically in game. However, he will still send the player HHA mail regarding the rating of their home. Similar to previous games, villagers will discuss when Lyle will be evaluating homes days prior.

In the game’s final major update, however, Lyle makes physical appearances, under certain circumstances. Much like many of the other missing characters from the game, scanning in the Lyle amiibo card in The Roost will allow you to physically see him, sitting with Tom Nook, Lottie, and Digby.

In the New Horizons purchasable DLC, once the player unlocks the ability to invite a VIP clients via the amiibo scanner, when scanning in a Lyle amiibo card, the player will be able to design a vacation home for him. Notably, Lyle sports his exact same attire from Happy Home Designer, that being his Happy Home Academy uniform, but the player cannot make him wear a different shirt, and cannot even purchase the uniform.

Animal Crossing: Wild World: The Real Wild World

This is the true story of four GameSpot editors picked to live in a small Animal Crossing house and have their lives detailed in a hands-on preview.

By Gamespot Staff on May 17, 2006 at 3:08PM PDT

Currently scheduled for release on December 5, Animal Crossing: Wild World is the upcoming DS follow-up to 2002’s Animal Crossing, a GameCube-exclusive life sim that challenges you to eke out an existence for yourself in a small town populated by anthropomorphic animals. The DS version of the game sports a number of new features and tweaks over the original GameCube title that have piqued our interest to the point of doing some exploration. Chief among the new features is the option to have up to four people share a house. While this raises the potential for all sorts of hijinks and shenanigans, it can also make for some complicated living, as we’ve quickly discovered. In order to best cover the upcoming title, four GameSpot editors have become part of a great experiment that finds us all sharing a simple two-floor flat in the town we lovingly refer to as The Hood. Each editor has had an opportunity to spend a couple of days with Animal Crossing: Wild World, and what follows are some brutally honest journal entries detailing their experiences thus far.

Ricardo «Satan» Torres

Day 2
Oh, great. My roommates moved in while I was sleeping—nothing quite like waking up and finding you’re in a room with three other guys who weren’t there when you switched the lights off. Seems like my roomies are a bunch of real sidesplitters; the lazy fools just lie in bed all day by the looks of it, leaving yours truly to take care of chores and mortgage payments. In between running errands for Tom «The Man» Nook, I visited city hall, where I met the mayor; the town gates, which are guarded by dogs; and the museum, which is appealing for exhibit contributions because it currently has none.

I’d love to invite some friends over to The Hood, or maybe go through the town gates and explore one of their hometowns. I need to concentrate on getting myself out of debt first, though, and on turning this one-up one-down pad into something that I wouldn’t be embarrassed to have friends see me living in. I’m not sure what I can do to improve the roomies, though—they seem like a really odd bunch. One of them I just know has to be a Dungeons & Dragons freak—calls himself WarEagle. The name Bradkins suggests that roommate number two is something of a momma’s boy, while the name Justice suggests that roommate number three—who otherwise seems normal—reads far more comic books than is healthy. Anyhow, I’ve made a good start on paying off the mortgage on this dump, and I hope to be out of Tom Nook’s debt in the near future—no thanks to the heroic trio snoozing away on the second floor.

Justin «Justice» Calvert

Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть фото Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть картинку Animal crossing wild world. Картинка про Animal crossing wild world. Фото Animal crossing wild world Tom Nook isn’t the only character who’ll make demands on your time.

Nook has taken out a mortgage on the house that I’ve moved into, and has tasked my roomies and me with paying it off. Satan had already made a small dent in the debt by the time I arrived, but that didn’t stop Nook from forcing me to run errands for him. My jobs for Nook included planting flowers outside his store, writing a letter to promote an upcoming sale, and delivering furniture to customers who were rarely found inside their homes. I was supposed to wear some nasty-looking uniform while working, and although Nook complained about my wearing a stylish blue-and-yellow rugby shirt instead, he eventually caved. After earning Nook’s trust (and not much else) by running errands, he explained that he’d be happy to purchase any items from me for cash, and suggested that said cash might come in handy for paying off my mortgage. What’s important, though, is that I was now free to do as I pleased in The Hood.

Collecting shells from the beach and shaking down cherry trees for fruit appear to be my best bets for making money right now—that, and fraudulently claiming items from the Lost & Found. All that will change if I can get my hands on a fishing rod or a bug-catching net, though, because there’s plenty of wildlife here just waiting to get turned into cash right now.

Day 2
There were a couple of letters waiting for me in the mailbox this morning, including one from my even-scarier-than-the-other-one roommate, WarEagle, who moved into the bed across the room from mine while I was sleeping. WarEagle believes that PomPom, a harmless white duck, is a communist, and has suggested I keep an eye on her. Personally I’m more worried about Satan, whose actions have already made a friendly woman named Margie pack up and leave The Hood. Satan had arranged to meet her and show her around our diminutive new home, but he never showed up.

Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть фото Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть картинку Animal crossing wild world. Картинка про Animal crossing wild world. Фото Animal crossing wild world Blathers is the reason why the museum aquarium doesn’t have any fish.

I spent the morning collecting shells and cherries for Nook, and had over 6,500 bells to my name in no time at all. I paid 5,000 bells off the mortgage so I won’t have to sleep with one eye open in fear of my roomies, put 500 into a secret bank account, and spent the rest on a fishing rod and a bug-catching net. There was plenty of other cool-looking stuff at the store, but I just can’t justify shelling out for a robo-dresser or an expensive stereo right now.

I think I figured out why the local museum doesn’t have any exhibits—Blathers the owl, who runs the museum, seemed very grateful for the fish that I donated to the aquarium, but talked about nothing but recipes that they’d be suitable for. Other highlights of my day included retrieving some furniture and a stereo from the recycling center, picking weeds that were popping up all over town, and wondering why there are presents suspended from balloons floating through the skies above The Hood.

Brian «WarEagle» Ekberg

Heading out early this morning, I tried to make my way over to Nook’s to start working on paying off that debt, but Tom was in the process of making over his store, which meant I was S.O.L. when it came to getting a J.O.B. See, that’s the thing about ol’ Nook. He gets a bad rap because he’s pretty much a hard-ass when it comes to paying off your debts, but that attitude has really made him a captain of industry around The Hood. If Tony Soprano were a little badger thing that favored jaunty hats, that would be the Nookster. I’ve got mucho respect for him. As evil as Satan seems, I think Nook is the guy you do not want to screw with.

Day 2
Fashionable is how I roll. You see, it didn’t take me long to become the best-dressed man in The Hood, thanks to the dope shirt designs I created. It was really easy to put my style to work—I just drew the patterns out using the stylus and voila, just like that, I had my supersassy «AU/Orange and Blue» design. I even took my creation to the Fashion Shop and put it on display for people to check out for themselves. I suspect it won’t be long before guys like Justice and Bradkins start snapping up my WarEagle line of fashionable accessories as soon as they come out. There’s plenty of room for me to expand my line anyway—hats, umbrellas, the sky is the limit.

Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть фото Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть картинку Animal crossing wild world. Картинка про Animal crossing wild world. Фото Animal crossing wild world You too can be a fashion designer like WarEagle.

I’m not the only one impressed by my textile skills, though. Everywhere I went today, people walked up to me and complimented my couture—PomPom said she liked my shirt; Jay said I looked really nice today; it seemed like everyone wanted to pluck a feather from WarEagle’s sexy plume. It was only later that I found out that today was actually Yay Day, a holiday of sorts around The Hood, where compliments flow as freely as lace doilies at one of Bradkin’s sleepovers. Even worse, I was expected to return the compliments of each and every person who came up to me. I did my best when it came to complimenting Jay and PomPom, but I don’t think telling Eloise that her best color was burnt umber did much to improve her self-esteem. But hey, I call ’em like I see ’em, and the only thing that can improve Eloise’s jacked-up grill is something brown and big she can use to cover it.

One of the first things I wanted to do when I got to The Hood is introduce myself. Seeing as how my three roommates were dead tired and could not be woken under any circumstances, I decided to write them each a letter. I headed down to Mr. Nook’s store (which was now open), grabbed some awesome fireworks-themed stationery, and sat down to begin my correspondence. It’s much easier to write letters in The Hood than in my previous Animal Crossing residence—all you do is simply tap-tap-tap away on the screen and the letters appear like magic. Heck, I spent an entire afternoon sending letters to practically everyone in town.

Oh, and one more thing: I’m not too picky about our homestead and all, but what’s with all the guys? A fella with this much personal style is wasted in a house with nary a woman to be found.

Brad «Bradkins» Shoemaker

Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть фото Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть картинку Animal crossing wild world. Картинка про Animal crossing wild world. Фото Animal crossing wild world The museum is a real hive of activity after dark.

Day 1
It’s been darn near two weeks since I moved to The Hood, and the journey was so arduous that as soon as I arrived, I went all Rip Van Winkle and haven’t woken up until just now. But even in my mad dash to the house I’m sharing with Satan, Justice, and WarEagle, I couldn’t avoid that old taskmaster Tom Nook, who wasted no time reminding me exactly how much we’re all in the hole because of our house purchase. Something tells me I’ll be taking orders from that ornery old coot before too long.

After I talked my way out of the confrontation with Nook, I crept into the house and found two of the roommates sleeping upstairs. Although I considered offing them in their sleep in order to establish total dominion over the house, and then, the Hood, I decided to hit the hay instead so’s I could get a fresh start on making some cash to pitch in against our collective debt.

Day 2
Sorry, maybe that should say «week two.» I woke up after my long nap to find that in my absence, my housemates have been busy. Busy pissing off the locals, it seems! My first visit to Tom Nook found the merchant supreme in a pretty foul mood—he demanded I go out and plant some flowers and saplings to pretty up his shop a little. It seems like some of my roomies may have performed the same task over the last couple of weeks, but with those buffoons’ black thumbs, the flowers have long since wilted away. I’ll have to keep up with the watering duties to make sure all the plants stay nice and healthy.

At least the roommates have also been busy procuring some nice items. WarEagle left a watering can sitting right in the middle of the living room, and I found a ukulele over in the corner. After I planted Nook’s saplings, he sent me on one delivery errand after another, and Jay was kind enough to repay my speedy delivery with my very own ponderosa bonsai tree. I started a house beautification project by arranging the little tree right in the front entryway (that’s what my feng shui book said to do). Now if I can only find a place to fill up this can.

Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть фото Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть картинку Animal crossing wild world. Картинка про Animal crossing wild world. Фото Animal crossing wild world You never know who you might bump into on your travels.

I have to say, The Hood’s got some strange residents. This guy Butch, he seems pretty sick—I’m gonna have to find him some medicine. Kept yapping about how the sushi ninjas are after him, and how he wants some chocolate milk, and how I’d better remember to cut the crusts off. Must be delirious with fever. But that wasn’t even half as creepy as my first meeting with Tortimer, the town’s mayor. He kept reminding me that he’d have his eye on me, and he asked me to scratch his back, too. Was he making a move on me? Yeesh.

Well, that’s enough tireless toil for one day. I’d better get home and prepare for tonight’s sleepover—all my doilies are still in boxes.

Main Screen [ edit ]

Your inventory can hold 15 items, 10 letters, and up to 99,999 bells. The 15 spaces for items are the circle shaped slots, the 10 spaces for letters are the rectangle shaped slots on the right, and the amount of bells you are holding is on the top left just under your name and town name. You can also put bags of bells into the item slots to increase your bell count.

The first background for your inventory is yellow with white polka dots. However, this is changeable. If you grab a shirt or design that you like, drag it to the bottom left corner of the touch screen you will notice a ‘hidden’ slot. If you let go of your design in this hidden slot, it will change the background to your chosen design. You can change the background like this as many times as you want. The first time you do this you will get a ‘Big Dot Shirt’.

A handy trick is to use the letter slots to hold items. This gives you up to 10 extra spaces within your inventory. To do this you need to have 10 letters in these slots. Then all you need to do is drag an item onto the letter and it will turn into a present. It’s a good idea to leave one free letter slot in case a neighbor asks you to deliver one for them. To return your item to one of your main item slots simply tap the letter and choose “Present” from the list of options.

Pattern screen [ edit ]

Along the top of your inventory you will notice a number of icons. The second icon is for patterns.

There is space for 8 designs in total. You can create, trade or buy designs at The Able Sisters’ shop. You can also receive designs from Wendell the Walrus.

There are 7 different ways to display these designs. The 7 buttons in the design screen represent the different display options. The options are: shirt, hat, umbrella, carpet, wallpaper, painting, and square.

Here is what each option does:

Fish screen [ edit ]

This is the third icon in your inventory. You can scroll through all the fish that you have caught while playing the game. This provides information on where the fish was caught and which season in was caught in. There is also a little bit of information provided for each fish.

Bug screen [ edit ]

This is the fourth icon in your inventory. It is used the same way the fish section is.

Chat screen [ edit ]

Town Map screen [ edit ]

The next icon is your town map. This is handy if you are looking for a certain neighbor’s house. It is also handy when you are in a friend’s town. You can use it to familiarize yourself with their town’s layout. It can help you find stores, houses, and bridges.

Friend Roster screen [ edit ]

This heart shaped icon is the screen where all your friends are stored. You can have up to 32 people on your list. People that have a green circle next to their name means you have successfully met up in wi-fi mode. People with a red triangle are people that you haven’t met up with yet. To register a friend, press the button «Register» in the lower right corner, type in their friend code, their name, then their town name.

To check your own friend code, press the button that looks like a key.

Animal Crossing: Wild World получил положительные отзывы, набрав 86 баллов из 100 на Metacritic. [3]

It’s not every day that an angry pig called Rasher demands to know when your birthday is. Or that a taxi-driving turtle asks you out to dinner. Or that a raccoon informs him you’re in a huge amount of debt and must work in his shop to pay it off.

For those who aren’t familiar with the first game, Animal Crossing puts you in a cute-looking town inhabited by a load of cute-looking animals with enormous heads and wildly differing personalities. Your basic goal is to earn cash by running errands, working in shops and the like, and then using that cash to pay off your mortgage, spruce up your apartment and, er, buy stuff.

Turtle power

The good news is that, from what we’ve seen so far, that charm and character is very much present in Wild World, right from the start. The game begins with you in the back of a taxi belonging to the aforementioned turtle, Kapp’n, who’s driving you to your new home.

Kapp’n asks your name and gender (which are then stored) and, if you’re super hot like us, asks you out to dinner (we said no, but he didn’t seem too offended). Next thing you know you’re at the town hall and being welcomed by the clerk, Pelly, who invites you to go and take a look around.

To help you navigate, there’s a handy map showing the location of your house and various other important buildings. You access this by tapping an icon in the top right of the touch screen to open a menu, which also helps you keep track of any items you’ve collected, clothes in your wardrobe, friends you’ve accumulated and so on. Or you can just skip the menu and press X for the map, helpfully.

Meet and greet

This is rather disconcerting, and not least because you’re wondering what he’s going to do with that many bells anyway. Having spent a perfectly pleasant ten minutes talking to turtles, wandering along tree-lined streets and gazing at the lovely blue skies, being informed that you have a huge mortgage is like being clanged in the face with a titanium brick. You mean, we’ve only just begun to explore this wondrous new world, and we’ve had lots of fun so far, and yet we’re already in a load of debt and we’re going to spend the rest of our lives working to pay it off? It’s a bit like leaving university, basically.

It’s little additions like this which add to the overall charm of Wild World, and remind you that it’s been put together with real care and attention to detail. We especially like the fact that you can write your own theme tune, using the stylus to drag coloured notes shaped like teddy bears’ heads up and down the musical scale. It’s the small things that matter.

Making connections

What with all the people to meet, the events to attend, the tasks to complete and of course the mortgage to pay off, there’s plenty to be getting on with. But if thanks to the fact that the game works with Nintendo’s Wi-Fi Connection service, you can also go online to visit your friends’ home towns and vice versa.

It works like this: when visiting another town, you’ll be greeted at the entrance gates by Officer Copper, who will ask you to input the Friend code of the person you’re going to see. Each DS has its own unique Friend code, and just as with Mario Kart, these can only be swapped offline for security reasons. You must also go to your own town gates and inform the officer that visitors are welcome before they can come and see you.

You can even go mental and start cutting down all the trees and destroying all the flower beds, if that’s what makes you happy. But be warned, all you vandals, ruffians and hoodies: it’s possible to send unwanted visitors packing and block their Friend code so they can’t come back.

If You enjoy video games based on social simulation like the sims, you would definitely love Animar farming. This game is easy to play, and even children between the ages of 8 and 13 can play.

The game’s main context is that the player lives in a village filled with various anthropomorphic animals. The day-to-day tasks include carrying out various activities such as bug catching, fishing, and fossil hunting. And because the game is so in demand, three spin-offs have been made so far, namely Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer for Nintendo 3DS, Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival for Wii U. This is the second instalment in the series Animal crossing.

Game Plot

The player who takes a human character’s role lives in a rural village filled with anthropomorphic animals indefinitely. The game doesn’t have a specific objective as it is open-ended. Open-ended means that there is no right or wrong way of playing the game.

Gameplay

The player can perform any activity like collecting items, planting plants or other things, and socializing with the village’s residents. The game is played in real-time by using the console’s internal clock and calendar. The game world’s time is the same as reality, including seasons and time of the day.

Catching all the fish available in AC:WW may seem like a lot of work, but with this guide hopefully things will become a little clearer for you.

First, you will need a fishing rod. You can buy one at Tom Nook’s for 500 bells. You can also get a free fishing rod from Tortimer outside the town hall during Fishing Tournaments.

Now that you know how to fish, what exactly can you do with them?

Fishing areas [ edit ]

The fish available to catch depend on several different factors such as time of day, month, and even weather conditions. If you are trying to get a particular fish first be sure you are fishing in the right area.

There are five different fishing locations.

There are also a number of times that certain fish will be available to catch. Here they are split up into 4 different sections:

List of fish [ edit ]

There are a number of fish that you can catch all year round; however, most fish are only available for a couple of months out of the year. This means you’ll have to fish for the whole year in order to catch them all.

For a full list of the fish available to catch in Animal Crossing: Wild World, please go to the list of fish.

Other information [ edit ]

Fish aren’t the only items that you can get when fishing. Every so often you will catch tin can, old tires or old boots. These items look like fish when they are in the water, so there is no way of telling when you will get these. Don’t leave these ‘rubbish’ item lying in your town, you can either take them to the town hall and leave them in the recycling bin or you can give them to Tom Nook who will happily depose of the items on your behalf. If a player gets the Golden Fishing Rod, they will no longer receive trash, making fishing much easier.

Animal Crossing: Wild World Review

Wild World doesn’t toy with the original Animal Crossing formula, but simply being able to take your town with you on the go makes it an easy recommendation.

By Alex Navarro on December 7, 2005 at 3:18PM PST

Nintendo has made its reputation by creating fun, offbeat, family-friendly gaming experiences that are often considered innovative. But even the most stalwart Nintendo fans had to be a little confused the first time they got a look at Animal Crossing. The very definition of a nongame, Animal Crossing for the GameCube took gentle sprinklings of the role-playing and life-simulation genres and put them into a capriciously adorable world filled with cartoon animals—one that you would have to live and survive in by performing what would normally look like menial labor tasks. But as uneventful as it sounds on paper, Animal Crossing was easily one of the most inexplicably fetching gaming experiences to be had on the GameCube, and it was near impossible not to be taken in by the charms of its precocious animal residents and habitual collecting mechanics. Now, Nintendo has brought the insidiously addictive world of Animal Crossing to the DS in the form of Animal Crossing: Wild World. This isn’t a sequel; rather, this is something of a reenvisioning of the last game, with a slew of new collectibles, new characters, new tasks to perform, and some Wi-Fi and online multiplayer functionality to boot. Granted, not every single one of these additions is a slam dunk, and in fact, a few things just aren’t as good as they could have been; but Wild World ultimately surpasses the last game, simply because of how much better suited its style of gameplay is for a handheld system like the DS.

Now Playing: Animal Crossing: Wild World Video Review

The premise of Wild World is identical to that of Animal Crossing. You, a young human, are moving to a new town. You begin this game inside the cab of a salty old fellow named Kapp’n (whom fans of the first game will certainly recognize). He quizzes you on a few different things, and how you answer those questions ultimately determines your gender as well as your appearance. Once in town, you meet up with the local shop keep, Tom Nook. This industrious little raccoon turns out to be the real estate magnate of your new town, and he puts you up in some new digs, despite your lack of funds. Of course, now you’re indebted to him to the tune of several thousand bells (the game’s form of currency), and it’s up to you to pay him back, forthwith. Animal Crossing aficionados will find this setup to be quite familiar, as they will with the events that follow. The tasks and methods for making money generally are the same, with only a few additions here and there to break things up. That’s not inherently a bad thing by any means—the system remains just as oddly compelling as it was on the GameCube.

Some of those tasks include catching fish and bugs, digging up fossils, and running errands for the local townsfolk. Fundamentally, all these things work the same as they did on the GameCube, relying on very little in the way of skill, save for the little bouts of reflexive action you’ll need in the fish and bug catching. Changes are few and far between, though most of the ones made are for the better. Fossils, for instance, are much more easily identified here. Before, you’d have to send them via a letter to a far-off museum just to get them identified. Now you can simply hit up Blathers the Owl at the town museum, and he can identify them for you on the spot (he must’ve taken some kind of correspondence course between the first game and this one). When catching fish, you’ll have to listen for a specific audio cue to pull in your line rather than relying on the rumbling of the controller to figure out when to pull back. But otherwise, everything works the same. Fish still appear as outlines in the water, letting you know where to drop your line; bugs still appear in their usual places, as do fossils. The difference is that there’s just a lot more of all these things to catch and dig up, meaning you’ll be spending even more of your free time trying to find that last piece to put together a Pterosaur’s skeleton, or those last few rare fish you need for your collection.

There are new tasks to perform in Wild World, but frankly, they’re just not as compelling as the holdover tasks from the original game. For example, you can use a watering can to maintain the floral arrangements scattered about town and a slingshot to knock occasional floating presents out of the sky. But these tasks aren’t nearly as enthralling as anything else in the game. You don’t need to use the slingshot, save for maybe once a day, and watering plants yields very little in the way of a tangible reward, save for the beautification of the town (which, while a valid goal, isn’t the most monetarily rewarding task there is).

Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть фото Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть картинку Animal crossing wild world. Картинка про Animal crossing wild world. Фото Animal crossing wild world Tom Nook is forever the slave driver, but you put up with it because dammit, you want that second story on your house!

The thing of it is, however, that the pure mechanical busywork included in the Animal Crossing experience really isn’t what makes it so appealing. These are merely means to one of several ends. The main end is the customization of your house and character. As you pay off your debt (and subsequent followup debts, from each major house renovation that comes over time), you’ll find yourself in Tom Nook’s shop time and time again, selling fruit and fish and bugs and any other bric-a-brac you can find to earn more bells to buy the insanely vast variety of furniture pieces, clothes, and other wacky items available. Want a big, spinning UFO to stick in the middle of your living room? Or a complete set of orange furniture? How about a complete series of man-size (or animal-size) chess pieces? It can all be yours—just not all at once. Only a few items are available each day, and the list changes with each passing day, thus inspiring you to check back constantly with the hope that that modern end table or rare painting you’re missing is just a shop visit away. The only thing missing from the collectible items list in Wild World is the roster of classic NES games found in Animal Crossing. There are none to collect here, which is a little disappointing considering how cool it was to get those in the first game.

And that’s really the beauty of Animal Crossing. This is very much the kind of game you’ll want to check back with daily, simply because there’s always something new to check out. Whether it’s just the everyday business of shopping and collecting, or one of the many annual events that pop up, there’s always something new to see. It’s great, because the game uses the DS’s internal clock to progress in real time. There are holidays that are based on real-life holidays, and they take place on the dates they’re supposed to. Every Saturday, for instance, there’s a town flea market in which you can go from house to house, buying other characters’ furniture; that same night, the traveling musician K.K. Slider will come and perform, and will give you new music to play in your house. And then there will be periodic visits from characters who can provide you with rare and unique items, like the new traveling salesman who looks and talks like a cross between Gil from The Simpsons and Jack Lemmon’s character from Glengarry Glen Ross as he shadily and desperately tries to sell you accident insurance, with hilarious results.

The characters are also a huge part of the game’s appeal. Since this is basically just a «place to go and hang out» simulator, it wouldn’t work if the characters you were hanging out with weren’t fun to converse with. Your neighbors come in a wide variety of different animal and personality types. You might see repeats of certain personalities, but you won’t often see much repetition in dialogue, because there’s such a huge array of things that these characters will converse with you about, and almost all of it is sharp and funny. As time goes on, citizens will move on to other towns, and new ones will come in, which actually helps give the town an air of unpredictability. But there are also some staples that will always be there, like Tom Nook and Blathers, as well as a couple of newcomers, such as Celeste, who runs the observatory in the museum (and even lets you plot your own constellations in the sky), and Brewster, who runs the local coffee shop and provides you with piping-hot cups of joe that put big, silly grins on your character’s face. Interacting with and working for all these different characters is quite a joy, and makes it worth coming back to time and time again.

Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть фото Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть картинку Animal crossing wild world. Картинка про Animal crossing wild world. Фото Animal crossing wild world The ability to go online in Wild World is a great thing—it’s just a shame that there isn’t more to it.

Wild World also prevents itself from getting overly tiresome by regulating exactly how much you can play. You can always just go chat it up with the neighbors and do whatever tasks you feel like, but because there’s only so much you can actually buy and so many things you can experience on a day-to-day basis, the game is really best played in short, controlled bursts. That was the case with the original Animal Crossing too, but there’s something more to be said for this style of play on a handheld system like the DS. Being able to take your town with you wherever you go and play whenever you feel like it is just more appealing than trying to hunker down and check in via your GameCube every day.

But what if you’ve already played Animal Crossing to death on the GameCube? Apart from more items and new characters, what does Wild World really have to offer? For one, it does include a new touch-screen-based control system—albeit one that isn’t as fleshed out as you might hope. You can use the touch screen to guide your character anywhere around the world or make them perform actions like casting a fishing line or digging a hole, and to make menu navigations and chatting a much easier task. Truthfully, the basic character controls are generally easier with the D pad and buttons. It’s more of a pain than it needs to be to try to position your character in the right spot to cast a fishing line or dig a hole in the right spot, and you really do get a better handle with the D pad. When navigating menus, though, it’s great to have this feature; it streamlines the process of picking items to sell to Tom Nook and writing letters immensely. It’s just too bad that the screen wasn’t utilized more effectively to make things like fishing an easier endeavor.

Wild World also includes a full range of multiplayer features. The single-cart, four-player methodology from the first game is here again, though the difference is that all four players now share the same house, and the same collective debt. If you just want to visit a friend’s town, you can do so in close proximity via the standard DS-to-DS connection, or you can visit a friend far away via the online Wi-Fi connectivity. The basics for both connection types remain the same. A friend can visit your town, or vice versa. While there, you and said friend can chat with one another, and do all the different things one would do in their own town. The one odd thing is that while you’re in a new town or have a visitor in yours, every town resident retreats indoors. It makes them easier to find and visit with, but it’s still a little peculiar.

The whole online thing might sound like the most wicked-awesome thing you’ve ever heard of, but there are a lot of weird restrictions to the mode. For one, you can’t just visit any town with an open gate. You have to know the specific friend code of the player’s town that you want to travel to, and have it on your friend list before you can go anywhere. Obviously this circumvents the unpleasant issue of jerks coming in to your town, cutting down all your trees, and writing nasty messages on your bulletin boards, but still, it’s kind of lame that you can’t just see all the available online towns. In fact, the only degree of randomness to be found in the multiplayer is the tag mode. Here, you’ll buy a message in a bottle from Tom Nook’s shop, write a letter, and release it. If you happen to be in tag mode, and someone else comes within proximity to you while they’re in tag mode, your message will wash up on the shores of their town and vice versa. Through this, you might trade some constellations and citizens, but that’s about it. All told, it’s pretty cool that you can now take Animal Crossing online—it’s just a shame that the game doesn’t give you more to do with it, like fulfilling some specific multiplayer objectives or tasks. And the fact that you can only play with people you communicate with outside the game seems overly restrictive.

Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть фото Animal crossing wild world. Смотреть картинку Animal crossing wild world. Картинка про Animal crossing wild world. Фото Animal crossing wild world The game’s inherent preciousness will probably drive some people insane, but those without a black, vacuous heart of soulless darkness will be won over by its charms.

Wild World presents itself in much the same fashion as the original Animal Crossing, and while those production values weren’t exactly impressive on a system as powerful as the GameCube, on the DS’s more modest hardware, the game looks great. The characters all retain the same colorful, cartoony look that they did in the first game, as does the town and its various architecture and scenery. The one big difference is how the town moves. The acre system from Animal Crossing is gone, and instead the world scales in sort of a rounded fashion, with sections disappearing over the horizon line as you move up and down the map. It looks a little weird at first, but you get used to it quickly. The only real sacrifices the game seems to have made to run on the DS hardware is that, first, it runs at a lower (but always consistent) frame rate, and second, things just don’t look quite as crisp and sharp as they did on the GameCube. But again, there are different hardware specs, so that’s to be expected. The audio still consists of some catchy, mellow MIDI tunes that play in the background and the cute, gibberish dialogue that the townspeople speak. You can’t call any of it remarkable, exactly, but it’s all pleasant and enjoyable stuff.

But really, with all of that said and done, the biggest reason you should play Animal Crossing: Wild World is because it’s Animal Crossing done portable, and done well. You can certainly find fault with the lazy touch screen controls, the restrictiveness of the multiplayer, and the inherent sameness of the whole thing, but the fact remains that all the key underlying components that make this an Animal Crossing game are just as great as they’ve ever been, and being able to take your living, breathing town with you wherever you go is an absolute delight. If you weren’t keen on the precious nature of the first game, Wild World won’t do much to change your mind. But if you’re one of the many who fell in love with the first game’s unmistakable charms, Wild World is a world worth entering.
