По такому критерию можно 90% писулек снести. А альбом хороший, из двух лучших периода с Барнсом.

Первый альбом Cannibal Corpse подтверждает гипотезу о странной логике творчества группы. Действительно, выпустить такой замечательный дебютник, потом такой провал, как «Butchered at Birth» и скучный самоповтор «Tomb of the Mutilated», затем сделать пару хороших каверов и отличный альбом «The Bleeding»… Так сказать, болезнь с кратковременными улучшениями состояния организма. Вообще, жизнь данной группы – это или стабильность, доходящая до самоповтора (т.н. стиль), или некоторые сдвиги в виде качественной эволюции.

Так вот, к альбому. «Eaten Back to Life» нисколько не утомляет, напротив, содержит неплохие наработки, которые почему-то не получили развития на следующих 2-х альбомах. Звучание хорошо сбалансировано: ударные не совсем тупы и поэтому не заслоняют собой всего остального, гитары более живучи (иногда можно расслышать мелодии) и не сливаются в брутальную кашу звука, гроулинг не отдает максимализмом и вследствие этого не столь однообразен. Впечатляют высокие скорости и относительный оптимизм музыки. Барнс выплевывает слова с упорством агитатора… В целом, я не скажу ничего нового, но этот альбом представляет собой нескучный и энергичный образец каннибальского «мяса».

…А на следующих 2-х альбомах группа похоронила себя. И тот волнующий, экспрессивный вокал Барнса, который мы могли слышать здесь, сменился безучастным утробным, замогильным гроулингом, идеально характеризующим ту музыку.

Дебютный альбом американских легенд дэт-метала. Этот диск с места в карьер поразил метал-сообщество всего мира благодаря непомерно жестокой обложке (авторства Винсента Лока) и не менее жестокими текстами, повествующими слушателю о всевозможных убийствах и кровавых деяниях, возведёнными в гротеск (здесь нет сатанизма, характерного для американских дэтстеров того времени). Конечно, они не первые, кто начал мусолить темы зверств и расчленёнки (вспомните хотя бы Carcass), но как красочно и, я бы сказал, поэтично расписано всё это на этом альбоме! Крис Барнс, вдохновитель и душа этого коллектива (с 1989 по 1995 года) показал, как надо писать тексты, чтобы получать не отвращение, а этическое удовлетворение от прочитанного.
На релизе представлен скоростной, временами хаотичный и зверский дэт. Здесь ещё нет элементов грайнда, которые появятся только на следующем полноформатнике, но и без этого альбом кажется вполне тяжёлым. Техника игры у гитаристов, как ни странно, есть (чего не скажешь про «Butchered at Birth»), играют они умело и вдохновенно, но особых гитарных вывертов и извращений не ждите. Ударник стучит строго и скромно, здесь это ещё кажется нормальным, т.к. впоследствии он не изменит своей манере, и его игра будет раздражать. Вокал Барнса разборчив, при желании можно понять, что он там орёт (именно орёт, т.к. гроулингом это пока назвать сложно).
Из песен выделяются «Shredded Humans» (особенно текстом), «Edible Autopsy», «Put Them to Death», «Rotting Head». Остальные на уровне.

Вердикт: по большому счёту этот альбом напоминает очень жестокий американский комикс для взрослых, но его так приятно читать! Классика.

Заброшенный, пропахший дымом и помоями закуток на окраине «рубленного» пригорода. Взгляд случайного прохожего замирает на таинственном углублении в середине пустой площадки. Он видит, как вздрогнула, заколебалась рыхлая почва, как стала осыпаться, как проем расширился и оттуда, из-под земли высунулась обтянутая дряблой синевато-красной кожей длань, ухватилась за край. Загробный рев сотряс окрестности, и вот, обитатель подземной страны вышел на поверхность. О, как ужасен его облик! Стекающая гнойными струйками плоть, выпавшие кишки и прочие столь необходимые для жизни внутренние органы, кровавые разводы на проступивших костях, лопнувшие от напряжения вены. О, как он страждет и терзаем муками голода! И познал в сей миг несчастный прохожий, что пришел его последний час, ибо встретил он. ТРУПА-КАННИБАЛА.

Проба пера, а, точнее, ножа, взрезающего свежие мяса и телеса, первый опыт Великого Мертвяка и его отцов-музыкантов. «Не люблю живых», – сказала как-то героиня фильма «Люди в черном», и она во многом права. За что, понимаешь, их любить? Ходят беззаботно по Миру, наслаждаются всевозможными благами, а мы, люди мертвые, терзаемые червями, в страдании и мучении проводящие многие годы, должны вас любить?! Нет уж, фигушки! Мы не меньше вас имеем право на уважение и признание, пусть и добьемся оных несколько экстравагантным способом. Ну, что ж, против судьбы не попрешь! Ведь и мертвые некогда были живыми, но зажравшиеся и пошлые обыватели низвели их в могилу, только за то, что презренные ими изгои чем-то им не угодили. Мочить пузатых гадов!

Ещё не вполне brutal-death, есть немало а-ля-трэшевых непродолжительных включений, обычно предваряющих композиции. Саунд суховат, слегка несобран, но забавен и небезынтересен. Знаменитый гроулер Крис Барнс не вполне вошел в свой фирменный рычок, но уже овладел характерным клацающе-гнусавым ревом, – а как еще может петь труп, если у него сгнили голосовые связки и нос провален? Туповато, но уверенно звучит ритм-гитара, а вот соло пока что неоригинально. Недостаток работы – абсолютно стандартный, встречающийся повсюду: «начато за здравие, и кончено его во имя, а между тем и этим – упокой». Ощутимо также влияние «старших товарищей по цеху» (например, Obituary), но все же альбом, несмотря на некоторые просчеты, привлекателен.

В данном случае сначала было пяти-трэковое демо 1989 года, которое срочно было пущено в оборот, как и полагалось хорошей или любой демо-записи неизвестной Death Metal группы из Буффало, штата Нью-Йорк с интригующим названием Cannibal Corpse. Однако, будьте уверены, у конторы Metal Blade Records были уши везде, а точнее, везде, где это надо было. Потому что уже в августе 1990 года был выпущен целый компакт-диск, кассета и, само собой, винил под названием Eaten Back To Life. Все пять трэков с демо были записаны и включены в пластинку. + добавлены еще шесть.

Группа и доныне успешно гастролирует по миру (я смотрел переведенный на русский язык их ДВД как раз насчет гастрольной жизни. Это шикарно \m/, может быть и сейчас его копии где-то лежат на ютубе). Альбом пережил множество переизданий и лицензирований, (в том числе и пираты поживились брутальными риффами), был ремастирован. Живет своей жизнью, хоть и каннибальской.

Когда вы ставите пластинку или компакт-диск на проигрывание, нужно совершить небольшую медитацию. С целью перенестись ментально в 1990-й год. Кстати, на территории стран СНГ тогда еще был Советский Союз. И вот представьте, металлюги тогда брали перезаписанную кассету и с благоговением толкали ее в кассето-приемник. Кнопка «Рlay”. Ну, тогда это было мощА, капец и т.д. Сейчас это слушается по-иному.

Все случилось в итоге композитно: первородный бомбический Death Metal, провокационная текстовая начинка, яркая картинка Винсента Локе, лихорадочная гастрольная активность группы. С группой и материалом работал продюсер и саунд-инженер Scott Burns, который сделал все, что мог, а мог он уже не мало, так как минимум три года работал с металлическими командами. И многие из них вы знаете поименно.

Eaten Back to Life is the debut studio album by American death metal band Cannibal Corpse. [2] It was released on August 17, 1990 through Metal Blade Records. The album was banned in Germany—censored versions of the album were not available, but the ban was revoked in 2006 [ citation needed ] —and other countries because of the violent cover and the extreme nature of the lyrics. [3] Glen Benton of Deicide and Francis H. Howard of Opprobrium (then known as Incubus) perform backup vocals on «Mangled» and «A Skull Full of Maggots».

This statement can be found in the inlay of the album: «This album is dedicated to the memory of Alferd Packer, the first American cannibal (R.I.P.)».

The remastered version includes a video of «Born in a Casket (Live)» as well as a less saturated cover color, a new text scheme for the title, and the Fisher-era Cannibal Corpse text logo.

Самая успешная и известная дэз-метал банда планеты; имя немного даже уже нарицательное — три десятка лет служащее пугалом для нервных мамаш и баб-депутатов. CANNIBAL CORPSE по-прежнему в деле, они по-прежнему актуальны, по-прежнему брутальничают на концертах и не оставляют заложников. 16 августа исполнилось 29 лет дебютнику Eaten Back To Life, в связи с чем предлагаю расчленить соседа переслушать эту одухотворенную музыку, а заодно проверить свою каннибалоосведомленность у нас в новом тесте.

5. В детстве носил именно эту футболку,но слушал только «tomb of the mutilated». Ещё перло когда показывали Эйса Вентуру. И как то пропал интерес к данной группе. Но «evisceration plague» очень душевная тема.

«Мінскае Жыгулеўскае» — экспортный вариант, сваренный нашей Аливарией по заказу украинской конторы. Продается только там, мы его здесь даже не нюхали.

Не знаю на счет 9 вопросов но на один знаю ответ :На EP Hammer Smashed Face Кавер Black Sabbath- Zero The Hero. Вот сейчас спорят кто Лучше Джордж Фишер или Крис Барнс. По мне Крис отпадно отрычал на начальных альбомах и это стало классикой. Что же касается Джорджа то он тоже неплох. А после Канибалов Крис занимается чем то невпечатляющим например Six Feet Under. И еще у них был классный гитарист Джек Оуен который опять таки после каннибалов ничего впечатляющего ни в Deicide ни в Six Feet Under не создал.Джек вернись в СС. Твое место там.

7. Маловато, но вопросы сложные. Большинство угадал, хотя каннибалов люблю.

Cannibal Corpse: «Eaten Back To Life» – 1990

На написание этой рецензии меня сподвиг недавно просочившийся в интернеты трек Каннибалов «Demented Aggression» с грядущего альбома под незамысловатым названием «Torture». Своей ярко выраженной трэшевой ритмикой он почему-то вызвал у западных рецензентов безудержные потоки ненависти, изливать которую они поспешили на тематических сайтах, дружно влепляя новому треку нули. У меня же свежая композиция вызвала лишь положительные эмоции и заставила вспомнить вот этот крутой альбом. «Eaten back to life» я выделяю из остальной дискографии CC не только за олдскульное звучание (каковое я обожаю), но и за искренность, юношеский задор, пресловутый ПИР ДУХА, в конце концов. Ещё не до конца огрубевший голос Криса Барнса звучит заметно агрессивнее, чем на всех последующих работах в составах различных банд, а простецкие скоростные death hrash-запилы гитар вкупе с бешеным ритмом ударных наполняют организм адреналином от макушки до пят. Именно под такую музыку приятнее всего разбить себе башку, хаотично дрыгаясь где-нибудь под сценой в толпе таких же безумных патлачей. Чем, в общем-то, и занималась публика на ранних концертах Каннибалов и других подобных банд. Кому здесь важна концепция или продвинутость? Литры крови, расплёсканные мозги, зомби, и кишки, растянутые на сто метров по асфальту. Вот вам и концепция.

Любимые треки – «Shredded Humans», «The Undead will feast», и, разумеется, «A skull full of maggots». Ну вы же все знаете, этот стартовый проигрыш, правда? Один из самых крутых отрезков в истории death metal! И таких будет ещё немало у Каннибалов, но всё же именно этот альбом самый честный из всех, поэтому каждая минута здесь дорогого стоит. «

. Поздняя осень. Желтые влажные листья с печальным шелестом оставляют своих матерей-деревьев и падают на стынущую грязную землю. Унылый дождь скупо кропит твердь, слабый ветер жалобно поскуливает в подворотне.

Заброшенный, пропахший дымом и помоями закуток на окраине «рубленного» пригорода. Взгляд случайного прохожего замирает на таинственном углублении в середине пустой площадки. Он видит, как вздрогнула, заколебалась рыхлая почва, как стала осыпаться, как проем расширился и оттуда, из-под земли высунулась обтянутая дряблой синевато-красной кожей длань, ухватилась за край. Загробный рев сотряс окрестности, и вот, обитатель подземной страны вышел на поверхность. О, как ужасен его облик! Стекающая гнойными струйками плоть, выпавшие кишки и прочие столь необходимые для жизни внутренние органы, кровавые разводы на проступивших костях, лопнувшие от напряжения вены. О, как он страждет и терзаем муками голода! И познал в сей миг несчастный прохожий, что пришел его последний час, ибо встретил он. ТРУПА-КАННИБАЛА.

Проба пера, а, точнее, ножа, взрезающего свежие мяса и телеса, первый опыт Великого Мертвяка и его отцов-музыкантов. «Не люблю живых», – сказала как-то героиня фильма «Люди в черном», и она во многом права. За что, понимаешь, их любить? Ходят беззаботно по Миру, наслаждаются всевозможными благами, а мы, люди мертвые, терзаемые червями, в страдании и мучении проводящие многие годы, должны вас любить?! Нет уж, фигушки! Мы не меньше вас имеем право на уважение и признание, пусть и добьемся оных несколько экстравагантным способом. Ну, что ж, против судьбы не попрешь! Ведь и мертвые некогда были живыми, но зажравшиеся и пошлые обыватели низвели их в могилу, только за то, что презренные ими изгои чем-то им не угодили. Мочить пузатых гадов!

Ещё не вполне brutal-death, есть немало а-ля-трэшевых непродолжительных включений, обычно предваряющих композиции. Саунд суховат, слегка несобран, но забавен и небезынтересен. Знаменитый гроулер Крис Барнс не вполне вошел в свой фирменный рычок, но уже овладел характерным клацающе-гнусавым ревом, – а как еще может петь труп, если у него сгнили голосовые связки и нос провален? Туповато, но уверенно звучит ритм-гитара, а вот соло пока что неоригинально. Недостаток работы – абсолютно стандартный, встречающийся повсюду: «начато за здравие, и кончено его во имя, а между тем и этим – упокой». Ощутимо также влияние «старших товарищей по цеху» (например, Obituary), но все же альбом, несмотря на некоторые просчеты, привлекателен. «

Дет-метал банда Immolation недавно обосновались в студии Sound Studios, в Миллбруке (Нью Йорк) со своим бессменным продюссером Полом Орофино для записи их девятого по счету полноформатного альбома. Как и прошлый альбом американцев Magesty & Decay микшировать и сводить новое творение будет Зак Орен (Zack Ohren), который работал с такими бандами как ALL SHALL PERISH, DECREPIT BIRTH и SUFFOCATION. «Пару дней назад мы выбрались из студии, чтобы отыграть на нескольких опен-эйрах», комментиркет гитарист Роберт Вигна (Robert Vigna).»На новом альбоме будет 10 треков из самого угарного нашего материала, мощных и тяжелых. Стив Шалаты (Steve Shalaty, ударные) играл на пределе человеческих возможностей! Пол (звукорежиссер) получил один из лучших саундов, на который мы только были способны. Мы записывались в течение двух недель, вкушая удивительные сорта бельгийского пива из домашнего бара Пола. Мы еще должны внести несколько последних штрихов, для получения отличного стаффа, а также дождаться пока Зак Орен сведет все это, чтобы довести начатое до финала. Yet the classic release, which came out August 17, 1990, was written in the band’s hometown of Buffalo, New York. It would be another four years before Cannibal Corpse moved to Tampa to be a part of the city’s thriving death metal scene. “It’s funny because even before we moved to Tampa, a bunch of people thought we were originally from Florida because so many death metal bands started there and we were already recording there,” bassist Alex Webster told me in 2006. “We were listening to albums like Altars of Madness by Morbid Angel and Leprosy by Death, and we noticed they were done at Morrisound. So we went down there and had a really great time. We got to know a lot of bands on the scene and made a lot of friends long before we moved there.” With Eaten Back to Life Cannibal Corpse strived to up the ante on the graphic lyrics of bands like Death and Carcass and deliver brutal imagery and guttural vocals that matched the intensity of their grinding riffs and hammering blast beats. Combining five songs from their 1989 demo with six newly penned numbers in the same vein, the band put together a raw and powerful collection of tunes that would stand the test of time. Even though many of their later albums were more rhythmically and musically complex, their first four albums, including Eaten Back to Life, have an untamed ferocity to them that made them a highlight of the genre. Much of this has to do with vocalist Chris Barnes, who sang in a visceral, guttural growl and wrote songs inspired by newspaper headlines and horror film plot, and featuring titles like “Scattered Remains, Splattered Brains,” “Edible Autopsy” and “A Skull Full of Maggots.” Cannibal Corpse, «Scattered Remains, Splattered Brains» The artwork for Eaten Back to Life was rendered by horror comic book artist Vince Locke (Dead World) and depicted a zombie feasting on his own ribs and intestines. It was a tame appetizer for the visual atrocities Locke would create for the band’s subsequent albums. As vicious as Cannibal Corpse were from the start, they exhibited a twisted sense of humor within the carnage, even dedicating Eaten Back to Life to “the memory of Alferd Packer, the first American cannibal (R.I.P.)” Because of their graphically violent lyrics, many of which were featured female victims, Cannibal Corpse provoked controversy. With songs like “Born in a Casket,” it’s easy to see why: “Sex with the dead, now I must breed/ Within the stiff corpse planting my seed/ The taste of formaldehyde, smell of the rot/ Suck out the goo, feast on her crotch.” Cannibal Corpse, «Born in a Casket» Despite the graphic content, both bassist Alex Webster and original vocalist Chris Barnes (now in Six Feet Under) insist they never wanted to be seen as misogynist. “Chris [Barnes] wrote nearly all the lyrics back then, and that’s just the kind of horror he liked,” Webster said. “He wanted to focus on women victims, but he is not a misogynist and neither are any of the rest of us.” “I really wasn’t doing it to shock people,” insisted Barnes when we spoke in 2008. “I just thought it was exciting and the subject matter was interesting. It went along with what I gained from listening to the music. What those guys wrote presented such a violent image to me, I felt like I had to match the music I was being presented with to something lyrically. So I tried to make the lyrics as violent as the music was. And I was able to pull from my imagination some sick qualities of mankind and put them down on tape. I discovered that the stories were so much uglier and more disturbing when the victims were female. That’s really what I was going for, ugly and disturbing.” Cannibal Corpse wrote the songs that weren’t on their original demo in the first few months of 1989 and then recorded the entire album in a few short weeks at Morrisound in May 1990 with producer Scott Burns, the go-to guy for Florida death metal in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s. “Scott knew what to do with fast and brutal bands, and not a lot of guys did at the time,” Barnes said. “Also the studio is great. They’re always really up to date as far as the technology and equipment goes. They have a great sounding couple of rooms. It’s always been real accommodating, relaxed, grass roots type of place. And it really drew people from the death metal scene down here. That was a big factor in Tampa becoming a haven here. They wanted to be close to the studio.” Cannibal Corpse, «Shredded Humans» Part of why Eaten Back to Life was so well received has to do with the structure of the album, which is rooted in death metal but steeped in thrash, making it the perfect gateway to the underground. There are ominous chugging riffs in the intro of “Shredded Humans” and gang-vocals in “Mangled” (which features a cameo by Deicide vocalist Glenn Benton). Other sections are fast, savage and unrelenting, trumping the speed of innovators Obituary and Death. “Everyone tried to be faster and heavier than everyone else,” Webster said. “I don’t know if that was necessarily negative because that competitive spirit helps some bands better themselves. Everyone wants to be the fastest and the heaviest, and that kept the scene moving forward in a faster, heavier direction. Sometimes it sounded like people were talking about a sporting event, not music. They were talking about how many beats per minute something could be done and who had the fastest picking, the fastest blasts, the fastest solos. There was a lot more of that down here than there we ever saw up north.” At the time of its release, Eaten Back to Life was one of the sickest, most demented death metal albums ever released. Of course, over the next five years Cannibal Corpse would release even faster, more disturbing songs and accompanying art work that would land them in the crosshairs of conservative, God-fearing Americans, politicians looking to gain points with scared parents and anyone unsettled by genuinely sick s—t. While it wasn’t the goal, the controversy helped Cannibal Corse sell more records and increase their following. Still, despite their influence Cannibal Corpse were too brutal to cross over into the mainstream. “People ask us if we’re disappointed that we don’t sell as many records as a lot of these metalcore bands, and I’m really not,” explained Webster “I look at it like the tortoise and the hare scenario. Our career has been slow and steady, and we’ve seen other people pass us before, but a lot of them flame out. None of us wants a Lamborghini.
