Когда на Nintendo Switch вышла долгожданная One World, фанаты портативных симуляторов жизни надеялись на настоящий праздник. Релиз последней Harvest Moon состоялся в далёком 2012 году, поэтому от полноценного продолжения известной игры про выращивание томатов ждали чего-то нового и уникального. Получился ли у разработчиков достойный проект, или жанр фермы пробил очередное дно?

Скучно до безобразия

В число самых ожидаемых игр на Switch Harvest Moon, может, и не попала, но как минимум в мартовском рейтинге отметилась точно. Ждать новую часть пришлось действительно долго. Как и в случае многих старинных серий, у Harvest Moon сменился не один разработчик. Первоначальные создатели давно закрылись, поэтому игра ушла в руки студии Natsume: за многие годы она так и не смогла создать ни одного хита, а франшизу Harvest Moon только издавала. Это сказалось на результате их трудов, который придётся по вкусу, скорее, совсем юным геймерам (которых, впрочем, отпугнёт отсутствие русского языка) или ярым фанатам серии.

Выбрав пол, цвет глаз и волос главного героя, мы отправляемся в неизведанный мир за приключениями и уникальными заданиями, которые будут подстёгивать к развитию собственной фермы… Но не получаем ни того, ни другого.

В первые часы придётся только бегать туда-сюда и читать невероятно длинные диалоги. Пока игра знакомит нас с базовыми механиками и завязкой истории, не происходит совершенно ничего интересного. Да и сюжет особо интересным не назвать.

Местные обитатели абсолютно разучились выращивать овощи и фрукты. Помочь может только древняя книга, которая достаётся главному герою. Теперь игроку предстоит отправиться в долгое путешествие по разным регионам, найти друзей и познакомиться со множеством фермеров по всему миру.

И вроде чувствуется какая-то попытка внедрить глубокую идею, которая отправит пользователя в страну грёз, однако первоначальную магию полностью разрушает ленивый нарратив. Поверхностное повествование не позволяет полноценно погрузиться в историю и прочувствовать героев, из-за чего сюжет вообще теряет смысл. К сожалению, на этом проблемы игры не заканчиваются.

Копай, сажай, поливай

Все геймплейные механики завязаны на стандартных принципах типичной фермы. Наша задача — в специально отведённых квадратах выращивать цветы, овощи и фрукты. Рыхлим землю плугом, сажаем семена и поливаем. Возвращаемся каждый день для поливки и через несколько дней собираем полученный урожай.

Так как секреты сельского хозяйства здесь забыли, семена нельзя просто так купить в магазине. Для этого необходимо бегать по одним и тем же локациям в поисках загадочных фей, которые и предоставляют герою все необходимые ресурсы. Получить можно что угодно: хоть томат, хоть перец, хоть ананас. Выращенные же плоды полагается продавать через специальный ящик и получать взамен некоторое количество монет. Они идут на новых животных, корм, необычные растения и прочие мелочи.

Рядом с домом героя нашлось место специальному загону для зверей. Получить с них ресурсы для продажи довольно не просто. Мало того, что потребуется запастись кормом, ещё нужно постоянно улучшать отношения с животным и ждать, пока оно «созреет». Довольно реалистично, но отнимает слишком много времени.

Помимо привычного выращивания растений и ухода за скотом, нам доступна система майнинга. Правда, не криптовалютного, а вполне буквального: находим шахту и добываем железо или бронзу. Это не очередной «убийца Minecraft», но за некоторыми месторождениями скрыты лестницы на следующие, более глубокие уровни, где можно обнаружить редкие полезные ископаемые — эти ресурсы идут на визуальные улучшения фермы.

Привычный день героя выглядит скудно. На посадку растений уходит слишком мало времени, всего пара игровых часов, поэтому всю оставшуюся часть суток приходится бегать по уже знакомой локации и собирать семена у фей.

Всю эту рабоче-крестьянскую рутину кое-как разбавляют задания, однако ничем особым они увлечь не могут. Нужно либо добраться до новой локации и поговорить с множеством различных героев, либо посадить какой-нибудь фрукт и передать вырученные ресурсы определённому персонажу за небольшую награду. Не более того.

На этом и кончается геймплей, который никак не поощряет игрока за проделанную работу. Фарм ради фарма не приносит того удовольствия, которое получаешь от других похожих проектов, даже куда менее симпатичных.

А что ещё?

Несмотря на довольно скучную завязку и постоянную беготню по одним и тем же локациям, разработчикам удалось внедрить несколько современных фишек. Смена дня и ночи, погоды и сезонов реализована отлично. А вот система отношений между героями хоть и присутствует, но совершенно бесполезна.

Да, здесь можно купить домашнее животное, можно приобрести коня и стать наездником, можно рубить деревья и копаться в шахтах, однако эти занятия не приносят удовольствия. Без них попросту можно обойтись. А учитывая, что заниматься побочными активностями нужно, борясь с неотзывчивым управлением под однообразную музыку, интерес к ним теряешь очень быстро.

Зато миры получились действительно разнообразными и уникальными: они заметно отмечаются атмосферой, архитектурными стилями и внешним обликом персонажей. Ну и на геймплей смена локации тоже влияет. Например, в пустыне герою слишком жарко, и он гораздо быстрее тратит выносливость, окружающий его город выполнен в арабских мотивах, а жители одеты соответственно. Здесь даже можно покататься на верблюде и полакомиться блюдами местной кухни. Здорово? Конечно. Достаточно для того, чтобы вытянуть игру? Вряд ли.

Обзор Harvest Moon: One World

Завяли помидоры в родном колхозе

Дебютировавший на SNES в 1996 году проект Harvest Moon (Bokujō Monogatari в Японии) был одним из первых знаковых представителей жанра симулятора жизни на ферме. С тех пор серия успешно развивалась, выходя на самых разных платформах, как стационарных, так и портативных. Тщательно разрабатывая уже имеющиеся геймплейные концепции, основанные на спокойном, методичном уходе за виртуальной фермой и общении с различными побочными персонажами, франшиза приучила простых игроков и даже критиков любить себя такой, какой она есть, и авторам не требовалось каждый раз придумывать что-то абсолютно новое для привлечения аудитории.

В свою очередь Natsume, располагая правами на торговую марку «Harvest Moon«, продолжила работать с ней, и теперь издает собственные игры под этим брендом.

Harvest Moon: One World, вышедшая ранее в этом месяце на консолях Nintendo Switch и PlayStation 4, является игрой Natsume.

При каждом запуске игре требуется больше минуты (. ), чтобы загрузить стартовое меню, и при этом совершенно непонятно, ради чего мы так долго ждали. Визуальное оформление удручает: невзрачные, словно нарисованные канцелярским маркером текстуры, низкая детализация, примитивные анимации, маленькие, узкие локации, отсутствие каких-либо сносных теней и эффектов освещения. В проекте, где важнейшая роль должна быть уделена красоте природы, возделыванию земли, наблюдению за ростом урожая и созерцанию жизни, авторы умудрились сделать окружающий мир статичным и пластмассовым. И хотя стилистика Harvest Moon традиционно была достаточно аскетичной, One World выглядит скорее пустовато, без каких-либо намеков на эстетику. Вдобавок ко всему стоит сказать о нестабильной частоте кадров: изображение временами как будто бы начинает заикаться на ровном месте. Ситуацию спасают разве что приятные модельки персонажей и ненавязчивая, успокаивающая музыка.

Стряхивая с головы пепел, задумаемся, а может быть One World получила какие-то интересные решения в плане игрового процесса?

Обзор Harvest Moon: One World — когда хотели Animal Crossing, но все пошло не так

Успешные игры всегда порождали за собой целую цепочку клонов. Разорвавшая все чарты в год карантина Animal Crossing не стала исключением — сразу несколько студий принялись делать свои симуляторы фермы в кавайном стиле. А кто-то пошел более умным способом и сдул пыль с давно забытой франшизы, которая взяла свое начало в 1997 году, представив «долгожданное» продолжение. Что ж, сегодня мы смотрим как раз на один из таких проектов, который получил название Harvest Moon: One World.

Медленно, но уверенно копаем картошку

Начнем с не самых приятных характеристик. Назвать механику незамысловатой — не сказать ровным счетом ничего. Игра чрезвычайно простая и медленная, что становится понятно с первых минут и не меняется по ходу прохождения.

«Отнесите зерна», «принесите картошку», «сходите за лейкой» и все в этом роде — чего-то более изощренного или по-просту интересного ждать не приходится. Причем сами персонажи, видимо осознавая бессмысленность происходящего, еле двигаются, а потому даже задание переместиться из точки А в точку В может занять вечность. Благо позже появляется фасттревел. Вся суть игры состоит в том, чтобы развивать свою ферму, и, казалось бы, ничего плохого в этом нет, но исполнение здесь явно подкачало. Игра не то что быстро наскучивает, она изначально едва затягивает.

До милоты недотянули

Добавьте к уже перечисленным минусам ленивое звуковое сопровождение, отсутствие какой-либо озвучки и простейшую анимацию — в сумме все выглядит плоско и картонно. Не спасают ситуацию и, казалось бы, милые модельки персонажей. В отличие от недавно побывавшей у меня на обзоре Bravely Default II, здесь они не вызывают у меня никаких эмоций. Локации тоже сделаны на скорую руку — все поля и холмы пустуют, так что зачастую кроме персонажа на экране никого нет. Видимо, самоизоляция.

Сюжет про волшебных ос

Дабы не скатываться в негатив, хочется сказать, что сама задумка Harvest Moon: One World неплоха. Персонаж постепенно открывает все больше видов растений, которые ему достаются от волшебных ос. Собственно, в том, какое растение будет следующим и где его лучше посадить, чтобы добиться максимальной эффективности, и заключается главная интрига игры. Есть, правда, один нюанс. Нередко, чтобы вырастить нужный овощ, придется пересаживать его несколько раз, так как на финальном этапе растение может мутировать в что-то другое. Это, конечно, могут быть и более ценные продукты, однако квест не завершится, пока вы не принесете конкретный овощ, прописанный в задании.

Оптимизация тоже хромает

Что удивительно, Harvest Moon: One World умудряется работать недостаточно плавно. Иногда количество кадров в секунду проседает ниже комфортного значения, что бросается в глаза при медленном беге персонажа. Возможно, этот недочет поправят в будущих обновлениях.

Итоги

Честно говоря, я не вижу причин покупать Harvest Moon: One World, особенно учитывая немыслимый ценник в 3 790 рублей. Возможно, я просто «не выкупил» тему, но это маловероятно. Создается ощущение, что игру разрабатывали на коленке: здесь простейшая графика, унылый геймплей и скучные механики. Самым интересным моментом игры можно смело назвать кастомизацию персонажа при первом запуске — даже в ней динамики больше, чем во всем, что последует после.

Harvest Moon: One World – путешествие по обширному миру, в котором главному герою предстоит возродить Богиню Урожая. Для перемещения представлено 5 отличающихся областей: палящая пустыня Пастилья, холмы Лебкухена, заснеженные голы Салмиакки, луга Калиссано и пляжи Halo. Перед прохождением необходимо настроить центрального персонажа, выбрав его внешний вид, пол и другие функции.

Богиня урожая пропала, а обитатели не способны обойтись без неё. Протагонист получил задание, в ходе которого ему потребуется добраться до божественного существа и помочь выбраться из ловушки. На пути пользователь встретится с северными оленями, овцами, коровами и верблюдами. Каждая территория уникальна и предлагает множество мест для исследования. Перед исчезновением Богиня наделила Пучки Урожая знаниями о семенах. Таким образом никакие фрукты и овощи не будут потеряны из мира.

Главный герой пользуется силой, передаваемой огонькам урожая, что позволит открывать доступ к новым семенам по мере продвижения. Добраться до огней непросто, поскольку они скрыты в труднодоступных местах. Время играет не последнюю роль, ведь огоньки раскрываются в определенный момент суток. Обзор Harvest Moon: One World

Жанр виртуальной фермы, в нашей стране набравший популярность в основном благодаря соцсетям и мобильному геймингу, имеет гораздо более давнюю историю. Например, серия Harvest Moon началась в далеком 1996 году и здравствует до сих пор – именно ее последней части, недавно вышедшей Harvest Moon: One World, и посвящен этот обзор.

Что такое Harvest Moon: One World

One World продолжает серию Harvest Moon, игр на стыке виртуальной фермы и симулятора жизни, представленных в основном на консолях Nintendo, а иногда – Sony. Как и во всех подобных играх, сюжет и лор как таковые тут вторичны и даже рудиментарны. Главное – дать игроку возможность расслабиться, выращивая виртуальные овощи и фрукты.

Здесь все вполне по канону. Создав персонажа – мальчика или девочку – мы вместе с ним из таинственной книги узнаем, что раньше в мире царило изобилие, а потом люди забыли Богиню Урожая, и она оставила их. С тех пор плодородной почвы почти не осталось, а выращивать можно только картошку.

После этого мы встречаем одну из фей урожая, которая рассказывает нам о возможности возродить Богиню, дарит медальон жизни и семена, а в завершение всего рассказывает, как заниматься земледелием.

С этого момента все в наших руках – находим участок плодородной почвы, поделенный на квадратики, в каждом из которых можно вырастить одно растение, разворачиваем там ферму, которая стараниями нашего друга-гения Дока Младшего может сворачиваться буквально в карман, и начинаем нелегкий путь к богатым урожаям и возрождению Богини Урожая.

Что понравилось

В каждой деревне – свой климат, свои персонажи с уникальной культурой и кухней, свои растения и животные. Более того, с первого дня выхода уже доступен DLC с новым регионом Wagashi, основанном на природе и культуре Японии, а в дальнейшем ожидаются и другие.

Упомянутые выше различия в природных условиях – не просто внешняя декорация. Природа самым непосредственным образом влияет на геймплей. В жару и холод мы сильнее устаем и нуждаемся в особой еде, дождь становится настоящим спасением, избавляя от необходимости поливать вручную, а одни и те же семена, выращенные в разных местах или в разные сезоны, могут мутировать в новые растения.

Что не понравилось

Есть и другие странности – например, войти в меню и просмотреть инвентарь можно только пешком, на лошади эти кнопки просто не работают. Тачскрин, использование которого в таком жанре на Switch просто напрашивается, не задействован никак. А самое обидное – в полностью трехмерной игре 2021 года неподвижная камера, правый стик отвечает за переключение двух ракурсов: «чуть поближе» и «чуть подальше».

Стоит брать?

Harvest Moon: One World можно порекомендовать разве что преданным поклонникам жанра виртуальных ферм – они просто утонут в многообразии разнообразной растительности, которую смогут вырастить на своих плантациях, и будут умиляться тому, что каждому животному надо дать имя, хотя я на третьей курице уже устал.

При всех недостатках стоит отдать должное – игра действительно затягивает, даже засасывает в свой ежедневный цикл полива, удобрения и кормления живности. Но в целом One World можно оценить чуть выше среднего, а для ухода от проблем в мультяшную действительность без агрессии и насилия есть игры и получше.

Constant Crashing and Terrible Loading Times

I’ve been a HUGE harvest moon fan from the moment I popped in the GameCube disc for A Wonderful Life. However, I’m greatly disappoint in this new game. The graphics are wonderful, there are a lot of new challenges with crops as far as terrain, and I LOVE that your mine progress gets saved every 5 floors. I am truly tired of being in constant fear of the game crashing. I am tired of putting in the time to complete quests in the storyline multiple times, for a glitch and crash. Also, why such long loading times? It reminds me of the PlayStation 2 version of A Wonderful Life (the only game I played but didn’t finish because of the loading). Too many issues

The weather destruction on crops you grow is extremely annoying. Especially when you are growing a special crop that are seeds that came from request gift. Too many destroyed to make you keep farming. I plan to switch to orchards. Mining is super irritating with touch screens. Not consistent with Fishing is not really possible. Even with bait. Why make a game that frustrating? The point of games is to have fun, not get mad. Please fix. The sprites are cute, but get in the way constantly even if you give them gifts, and too many movies! Thank you fixing the crashes, particularly during mining! Loading screens are too long, longer than it should be for a saved game. There needs to be more explanation on the requests, because you need to use mailbox to view it first, not just use the menu. If you do not view from mailbox then you cannot give item to person requesting it. Personally too many requests for me. Very frustrating until you figure it out. The bookshelf is not even needed other than hours of shops. I could keep going with fixes suggested. but i think you get it, just the game is more irritating than fun! I have always liked this series but you are losing fans. One thing that you have gotten perfect is the growing of crops and trees. Easy. Characters are usual ones from previous games, wish more suitors for girl but overall improvements made on previous games. Thank you.

Crop Mutation

Fruit and vegetable crops make up the majority of the mutations in Harvest Moon: One World. Each family is made up of a parent crop and its 7 mutant children. Growing the fruits and vegetables in the proper field and season can trigger a mutation. Selling a specific number of the mutated variety will unlock the seeds in select vendor shops.

There are some crop seeds that don’t appear in shops no matter how many I’ve sold such as Water Dragon Pineapple and Golden Bell Pepper. Those will be marked as «N/A» in the below tables.

Cabbage

The seeds for this big leafy orb is typically found in the Lebkuchen area, but if you have a bit of luck on your side, you can sometimes find a Dome Cabbage wisp on the river side of Braden’s farm during the beginning of the game. It’s quite uncommon, but it is there! You’ll also need to collect Pointy Cabbage as part of the story, which you can find in the wilderness area between the cocoa tree grove and the Harvest Goddess Spring.

Cabbage takes 4 days to mature and can only be harvested one time.

Onion

Onions will start to appear once you reach the Pastilla desert. Most likely you’ll find the Garlic Harvest Wisp before you find the base family crop, as it’s just on the outskirts of the town. Onion wisps are found along the edges of the desert area: one in the northeast corner, one in the northwest corner by the entrance to the desert farm area, and the last one the eastern edge.

Tomato

The first wisp for Tomato can be found on Braden’s farm in Calisson, by the southwest edge of his cow pen. Tomato can be harvested multiple times. Once a tomato plant mutates, it will continue to produce mutated crops until the crop stops producing.

Strawberry

This berry has several Harvest Wisps in the little alcove along the road from Lebkuchen to Salmiakki, just a bit north of the Lebkuchen mine. The parent fruit doesn’t sell for a lot, but once the mutations start to trigger, the Strawberry family becomes the favorite crop of many One World farmers to sell for profit.

This crop is found all around Calisson. There is one right behind your mom’s house and one by the area where Vitae appears. There’s another in the apple grove behind the Calisson farm, and later there’ll be another on the Calisson farm, next to the blocked-off area that unlocks after completing the game story. While corn doesn’t sell for a lot of profit, it is useful for making various animal feeds in the farm windmill.

Wheat

This grain is used in a lot of cooking recipes such as meuniere, breads, and cakes. There are several Harvest Wisps for wheat such as three wisps in the large alcove between Lebkuchen and the Pastilla desert, or two wisps in the small alcove where the Speckled Bear is on the path to the lava field. There is another wisp point behind the ruined castle, by Shogen and Sana’s house, and and near the red Torii gate on Wagashi island.

Wheat takes 4 days to mature and can only be harvested one time.

Rice seeds do not appear in any store, but Rice Harvest Wisps are plentiful around Wagashi. Rice and Lava Rice appear in the game when you purchase the separate Far East Adventure DLC.

Potato

There are a few places where you can find wisps that hand over Potato seeds. There is one in the apple grove just north of the farm in Calisson. There’s another on the road leading from Mom’s house towards Calisson, just a little bit up the path from Mom’s. A third is on the eastern side of the livestock fence at Braden’s farm.

Potatoes take 6 days to mature, regrows in 3 days, and can be harvested two times.

Carrot

These crunchy root vegetables can be found along the path between Calisson and Halo Halo. You’ll find a carrot wisp Harvest wisp in the crop field area to the south of the wedding pavilion, another one along the road before you reach the split that leads to the Halo Halo mine, and then a third on the other side of the river on the way to the Harvest Goddess shrine.

Spinach

The Harvest Wisps that hold Spinach Seeds are around the Lebkuchen area. There’s one in Tristan’s farm area, and another in the large clearing past the Lebkuchen farm area. There is another one south of Lebkuchen, at the little alcove with 1 field square. Another is in the area between the Salmiakki Lake and the Salmiakki Mountaintop. One more is on the Wagashi farm area, close to the Sparky machine.

Spinach takes 3 days to mature and can only be harvested one time.

Green Bell Pepper

The bell pepper wisps are found in the wilderness area between Calisson and Halo Halo. You can also find the second-generation Red Bell Pepper wisps on the farm area in Calisson. The produce doesn’t sell for a lot of money, but they can be harvested multiple times. The Purple Bell Pepper (which is actually green colored) and the Snow Bell Pepper don’t seem to appear in any stores, even after selling a lot of them.

Eggplant

Your first encounter with an Eggplant Harvest Wisp is on the road between Calisson and Halo Halo, on the western side of the bridge just outside of Calisson. Another wisp is in the wilderness area to the north of the Harvest Goddess Shrine, and then a third is on the southern edge of Halo Halo in the area where the sand turns back to grass.

Soybean

Depending on the road you take, your first experience with this crop family will be in Lebkuchen, where you’ll find the base soybean wisps, or in Pastilla, where you will find the Chickpea harvest wisps. Soybean wisps can be found in a small alcove on the road beween Calisson and Lebkuchen, and on Tristan’s farm space. Chickpea are closer to Malika’s tent and by the entrance to the Pastilla mine.

Soybean takes 5 days to mature and can only be harvested one time.

Broccoli

This veggie is a cold-weather crop and only has two Harvest Wisp locations. One is in the area just past the lake when walking up the hill towards the higher area of the Salmiakki mountain region. The other is at the western side of the large clearing at the top of the mountain. This family may take you a while to unlock its mutation due to the lack of wisps.

Pumpkin

This green squash has a single Harvest Wisp located in the upper area of Calisson, around the same spot where you’ll find Samantha wanders around. It appears regulary, so it shouldn’t take you too long to unlock the seeds in the Pastilla general store. The pumpkin appears as a green vegetable because pumpkins (Kabocha) in Japan are typically green and not orange like they are in western regions.

At the start of the game, you can make some money by growing and selling Romaine Lettuce; there is a wisp for this mutation right before the broken bridge that leads from Calisson to the Lebkuchen area. There’s also one in the Calisson festival area where Samantha wanders around.

Celery

This family of crops are found in the wilderness areas. If you never explore the area between Calisson and Halo Halo, you could potentially miss these guys. The Harvest Wisps for Celery are found in the alcoves to the south of the Wedding Pavilion area and on the wilderness area farm space that few players use (it’s too far away from everything). There is also one Celery wisp on the road leading to the Halo Halo mine.

Pineapple

Typically, this crop sold for a lot of money; but in this version of Harvest Moon, you won’t become a millionaire selling pineapple. There are a lot of wisps that carry Pineapple seeds though. The base-level Pineapple has many wisps found along the path between Calisson and Halo Halo, and wisps for its child mutations can be found in the Pastilla desert.

Pineapple takes 6 days to mature, regrows in 2 days, and can be harvested two times.

Watermelon

The seeds for this tropical fruit is found around the wilderness area directly adjacent to Halo Halo. There’s a Watermelon wisp by the small pond directly south of the entrance to Halo Halo, along the path that leads to Calisson. There are a few other Watermelon wisps in this area as well. Even Pastilla has Cannonball wisps fairly close to the city center. You’ll need to collect 3 Watermelon as part of the game’s story.

Watermelon takes 4 days to mature and can only be harvested one time.

Turnip

While this may be the staple crop in any Harvest Moon game, in this game the third-generation mutations for Turnip are terribly uncommon. Second-gen mutations are fairly easy though! There are several Turnip wisps in the Calisson area. There’s one by Braden’s art rock, and two more close to the rooster memory portal. You’ll even find Red Turnip wisps around Braden’s ranch!

Turnip takes 3 days to mature and can only be harvested one time.

Asparagus

The first asparagus wisps you’ll come across are along the path from Calisson to Halo Halo, right at the split in the road where the north path leads to the mine and the south path continues onto Halo Halo. The other Asparagus wisps are south after the bridge to Halo Halo; one to the east of the coconut trees and the other is in the wilderness farm area.

Asparagus takes 4 days to mature and can only be harvested one time.

Bachelors

There are five men you can marry if you’re playing as the female protagonist. The villagers have select gifts that they love, which results with a heart icon on their portrait when you give the gift. Most other gifts will be accepted and result with a music note on their portrait. There are select gifts that they don’t like, which results in no emotion icon. You won’t lose affection if you give a bad gift.

Braden

Braden is the first farmer you’ll meet after leaving mom’s house to journey into the world. He has a ranch full of cows in Calisson. Braden is heavily invested in his cows, so much so that he wants to do anything to keep them safe, even if it means coming off as rude when talking to outsiders. Besides cows, Braden has an interest in painting. The neighborhood kid, Elijah, likes to hang out at Braden’s ranch to learn about cows and paints.

0.5 Hearts: Next to the stone with the dog painting you’ll find Braden teaching Elijah how to paint. Elijah tells you about Hazy Doe, the anonymous painter. Braden tells Elijah that he should paint the way he wants to paint.

Best choice: You need to develop your own style.

1.5 Hearts: Walk down the hill from the higher area of Calisson, close to the stone with the dog painting on it. The rancher is handling paper that he says Elijah left behind. You mention that the handwriting on the papers looks similar to the signature style of Hazy Doe. Well, there’s a reason for that. Braden requests that you keep it a secret. Hazy Doe needs to be kept in the shadows.

Best choice: You still want to keep it a secret?

2.5 Hearts: Talk to Braden when he and Elijah are by the dog-painted stone. Elijah is excited because he found another Hazy Doe painting in Halo Halo. The meaning of the painting must be to keep trying and never give up. Elijah wants to paint pictures that have a message of their own. After he leaves, Branden tells you the story of his first secret drawing. Everyone interpreted it to have some sort of hidden meaning, but Braden didn’t say anything because he didn’t want to get into trouble for drawing on a tree.

Best choice: I agree with you, Elijah!

Kanoa

The manager of the Halo Halo fishing boats, Kanoa is a cheerful fellow who loves the sea. He keeps an eye on the villagers who risk their lives to sail out into the ocean to catch fish for the village, and jumps into action when there’s a problem with the catch. Kanoa loves to eat well-prepared fish. He spends the day along the shorelines, watching over the fishing ship, then will go to Cafe Mahalo for lunch.

0.5 Hearts: Talk to Kanoa as he stands on the shore. He invites you to go fishing with him, but before you head out, a villager runs in and tells him there’s an emergency! One of the fishing boats was engulfed with something mysterious, but everyone made it out okay. Kanoa wonders what happened. hmm.

Best choice: We must solve this mystery!

1.5 Hearts: Talk to him at the shoreline again. He’s been researching the sea mystery from before and thinks he found a clue. The tidal currents might have caused the mess. Kanoa is always ready to stand up and protect his village. He’s glad to know that you’re still willing to lend a hand.

Best choice: You are one cool guy, Kanoa!

2.5 Hearts: Walk into Halo Halo and you’ll find Kanoa with the fishermen. Kanoa’s theory about the tidal current didn’t work out, and he’s frustrated he hasn’t found an answer. Holokai tells him the story of the Sea Lord who only appears on cloudy days. Kanoa is determined to try and fight the Sea Lord. He can’t just sit around and do nothing! The fishermen confirm they heard a voice when their boat capsized, but it sounded like the voice was in pain. Holokai heard there’s a vet to the west who can heal any animal wound.

Best choice: I’m worried. It won’t be so easy.

3.5 Hearts: Walk into the beach area in the morning. A villager welcome up to you and tell you that Kanoa is going out to sea by himself to give medicine to the Sea Lord. You run to the dock with the villager, where Kanoa tells you this is something he has to do himself; he doesn’t want anyone else to get hurt.

Kanoa soon returns and says he’s sorry for worrying you. The only reason he was able to make it back was because he knew you were waiting for him. Kanoa explains that he finally figured out that this feeling he’s feeling is love and professes his love for you. The cutscene ends with a fish swimming under kanoa’s boat in the villager saying that they think the Sea Lord approves of Kanoa’s love.

Jamil

Jamil runs the animal shop in Pastilla with his mom. He likes to care for all animals, but has a soft spot in his heart for camels. After the Dead Forest fire, Jamil took in many of the wild animals to care for them while they recovered. He knows a lot about the wild animals in the area as well as domesticated animals you can buy from their shop. Jamil’s mom will give him a hard time for not having a girlfriend.

A tiger gets a little too close for Jamil’s comfort, but he protects you until the tiger wanders off. It’s always important to respect the wild animals. Jamil wonders if you’re always such a risk taker. You’re a special friend, and Jamil asks you to be more careful.

Best choice: I’ll be more careful from now on!

Tristan

A baker by trade, Tristan lives with his sister, Laura, in Lebkuchen. His father was a great bread baker and taught Tristan the ins and outs of bread making. He does the best he can with the ingredients he has, but frustrated with the results of his efforts. Caring for Laura’s memory loss is a heavy burden on him. He looks young and acts tough as a result of being responsible for his sister’s care. Tristan’s baking skills will improve as you help him to restore the flame in the local sacred hearth.

2.5 Hearts: Walk into the cheese and bread store. Laura has found an old photograph book and invites you to look it over with her. She asks you to fetch Tristan from the farm. While at the farm, you see Tristan humming to himself as he stands atop a fence post. Your presence startles him, but he regains his balance and asks if you heard him humming. He explains that he remembered how he used to climb on top of the fence when he was a kid and wanted to see if he could still do it. Better not tell anyone!

Best Choice: Just like old times or It sounded nice

Sami is the next in the Raatikainen clan line to lead the village of Salmiakki. As a forest ranger, he knows the dangers of the mountains surrounding the village. He always puts the cares of others before himself and works hard to ensure the happiness of the village. Sami is under a lot of pressure as the future leader of Salmiakki.

0.5 Hearts: Walk towards the Raatikainen clan house, where you’ll see Sami working together with a villager to ensure they can attend a meeting later. Sami will then notice that you are wearing the wrong clothes for the cold weather. He’ll offer to give you his scarf to keep you warm. Sami seems to do just about everything in Salmiakki.

Best choice: You’re like a hero from a book!

1.5 Hearts: Walk close to the top edge of the reindeer pen and you’ll find Sami feeding the reindeer. The animals get a little too close than he’d like. Sami doesn’t want reindeer kisses! You jump in to help. Sami is embarrased of the reindeers’ way of showing their appreciation for giving them food.

Best choice: The reindeer sure do love you!

2.5 hearts: Talk to Sami (either indoors or outdoors) and he invites you to go with him on his patrol of the forest. The weather turns bad, and a cold wind almost blows you over! Sami suggests tying a rope around your waist to keep from being blown away, as the two of you make your way back to town. Back at his house, he feeds you some soup, though it is too hot for him. Sami admits he has a tough time eating hot things. Being with you makes his mood warm up!

Best choice: Do you also have to blow on gratin?

Shogen

The lonely samurai Yagami Shogen Yukinaga lives on Wagashi village. This area is accessible if you purchase the optional Download Content and then repair the boat from Halo Halo that leads to the Cursed Island. While Shogen is courageous during the daytime, in an overactive sense, he becomes fearful of the dark after the sun goes down.

Latest Farming Video Game News

As for my adventures through Rune Factory 5, I made it through the Thundering Waste and unlocked access to the Cloudheim thanks to Lucus’ weird skills. All was going well until I tried to switch weapons mid-fight, only to somehow hold my Chaos Blade in my hands, resulting in me giving my weapon to the Blood Panther I was battling against. Oops!

One thing I am having an issue with is Radea’s friendship level. She’s stuck at level 2 and 97%, no matter how many gifts I’ve given her. I guess there’s a story element I must get past before she can reach friendship level 3? Radea’s stubbornness makes it tough to finish Hina’s raise-everyone-to-lvl-5 request, which I’ve been muddling through for several seasons.

New. Farming? Bloody Hell Hotel

Unfold Games announced this week that they’re developing a hotel management game with crafting and farming components. Bloody Hell Hotel has players taking the role of a recently-awoke vampire whose home needs to become a hotel.

Rebuilding the once-grand building requires players to collect resources to build furniture and repair the building. Attracting tasty-looking guests is an important component of restoring the vampire’s powers. You’ll also need to grow food to make into tasty meals for the hotel guests.

While ingredients are costly, you can farm, milk the undead cow, collect eggs from zombie chickens, and find wild mushrooms that grow around your hotel. Oh, and when it comes to meat, nobody has to know where it comes from.

You’ll also need to explore the dungeons under the hotel to collect more materials to unlock building upgrades. Naturally, there are lots of baddies underground! Making weapons to fight through the dungeon creepiness can be done at the hotel’s forge underneath the main lobby.

Unfold Games notes that they intend to release the game when it’s in its final form; Early Access isn’t planned, but there possibly could be a demo. The team is open to getting feedback from players on their Discord Channel. The goal is to make the «most ambitious first-person simulation game ever created,» which is quite a lofty goal! We don’t see many first-person games with farming aspects or with an adorable zombie cow. Like, we need more zombie cows.

Revival of an Old Farm’n Game

Game publisher Success Co. Ltd. will be releasing an updated version of their sheep management game, Welcome to Sheep Village. This HD remaster of their livestock game will be released for Nintendo Switch in Japan on November 10. This game was originally released on the PlayStation 2 in 2003, then released on Nintendo DS in 2008, and eventually ported to PlayStation Portable in 2009. There’s also a browser-based online version.

Outside of Japan, this series is known as Shepherd’s Crossing, a low-print series localized by Valcon Games (PS2) and Graffiti Games (PSP and DS). Valcon has since voluntarily dissolved as a company, and Graffiti Games now appears to concentrate on mobile games, so it’s unknown at the moment if there are plans to release an English localized version of this updated edition.

Funny thing, I just received my PS2 version of Welcome to Sheep Village from Japan about two weeks ago; it’s been sitting on top of my PC case as I’ve been trying to figure out how I can play my new game. What a coincidence!

SoTI Exits EA

The tropical resort and farm building game Spirit of the Island has officially left Early Access on Steam and is now available for purchase in its mostly-finished form. There are a few things the team at 1 Million Bits Horde is still working on, such as Italian language implementation and full controller support (currently missing the on-screen keyboard). Romance options will also be added post-release, as it wasn’t part of the initial roadmap for the game.

SOTI will be discounted 20% off until August 24.

Ooblets Launching on Switch

Charming (and a little controversial) Ooblets will be released as a digital eShop game on September 1. Preorders are now open and discounted 33% off until September 7.

In Ooblets, players grow crops to sell, but the crops can also turn into weird little creatures. The odd Ooblets can be used in dance battles and assigned to work on the player’s farm. Or they can just follow the player around and look weird. Story-wise, the goal is to help Mayor Tinstle fix up Badgetown, a little village on the edge of the land of Oob.

Ooblets has been out in Early Access on Xbox and Epic Games Store for a while. Initially planned for a Steam release, Epic offered developer Gumberland money to fund their game progress if they agreed to make Ooblets an exclusive PC release on the Epic Games Store platform. That helped to move game development forward, but many Steam supporters became bothered by how Glumberland announced the unexpected switch to a different platform, especially since some fans had been funding the game’s development via Patreon for an eventual Steam release. Hence, the controversy about the game.

This September 1 release also launches the game in its final form (minus bug fixes and whatnot) on XBox and EGS. Harvest Moon: One World Review

An interesting twist on farming sims, but a bland, soulless world kills all potential.

Somewhere in Harvest Moon: One World there’s a really interesting seed of an idea for a new take on farming sims, which would be much appreciated after 25 years of very similar games. And in the right hands, turning a farming simulator series into a plot-driven, exploration-focused adventure game sounds like a brilliant idea. And yet One World fails in just about every way to do anything interesting or innovative with this new idea other than layer it on top of a deeply mediocre farming sim.

Unlike its numerous Harvest Moon predecessors and competitors, One World does not have you inherit an old farm in a dying village and spend years rebuilding them, getting to know your neighbors, and generally settling down. Rather, you’re handed a portable farm (your scientist neighbor turns up on your doorstep and says “Look, I made you a portable farm” and that’s the end of the discussion) in the first 10 minutes and sent off on an adventure across its world, through five different towns with their own climates, hazards, and problems. You’ll park your farm in one spot for a season, finish whatever local plot is in front of you, and then move on.

Oh, and you can’t be queer, despite Harvest Moon’s competitors Story of Seasons and Stardew Valley having recognized what year it is already. The developers say this feature was missed due to COVID-19, and that it will be present in future games, but it’s still massively frustrating when so many other games offer it. And since One World doesn’t really signal to you who is and isn’t dateable for quite a while, I spent a lot of time handing gifts to Kirsi for no reason.

A definitive ranking of all people you can marry in Harvest Moon: One World:

I haven’t yet mentioned all the many small annoyances that cropped up as I played, none of which are worth a paragraph on their own but all contributed to my growing ball of frustration with One World. Why can I not have more than one stack of a single item in my storage or inventory at a time? Why does my stamina drop constantly just from walking around? Is there any point to giving gifts to random nameless NPCs? Why can’t my dog go outside? Why does keeping my animals happy seemingly do nothing at all, and why do they drop dead after a year or so automatically?

The best I can say about One World is that it’s fine – something you can mindlessly play on mute with a podcast on and feel not-horrible about. That said, with two Story of Seasons games out within a month of this and Stardew Valley’s 1.5 update on top of that, I can’t think of a reason why anyone who loves the Harvest Moon tradition should play One World. It’s lacking just about every possible forward-moving feature any similar games have, and its attempts at doing something new with the series are half-baked and frustrating.

Безусловно, разработчики пытались сделать из них сформированных персонажей, но как и все в этой игре, этот аспект был не доделан. Создается ощущение, что они были раскрашены тонким слоем эмоций, за которым нет абсолютно ничего.

Все становится еще печальней, когда выясняется что все персонажи просто стоят в одном месте и ждут, когда главный герой придет и решит их проблемы.

Один из важнейших элементов в симуляторах фермы с элементами рпг – это персонажи, которые находятся в городе. Они живут своей собственной игровой жизнью вне зависимости от вас. Здесь же, вы – центр вселенной и без вас вся жизнь замирает в ожидании, что безусловно портит атмосферу.

Геймплей

И вот мы плавно подошли к другому важнейшему элементу игры – геймплею.

В начале игры вам будет открыта только одна область, но довольно быстро вы начнёте открывать новые области, в каждой из которых имеются свои ресурсы, что естественно потребуется собрать, и люди, которым нужно помочь, так что единственное решение – это регулярный переезд и ведение кочевого образа жизни.

И эта концепция могла бы работать, но плоский и безликий мир портит все. Хоть регионы отличаются друг от друга, но все они состоят из извилистых и однотипных “коридоров”.

Однако, главной проблемой является то, что в игре каждая область рассматривается как временная остановка на пути вперед, а это значит, что люди, с которыми вы встречаетесь, играют лишь временную роль в повествовании, прежде чем навсегда уйти на задний план одного или двух повторенных предложений. И уже становится понятно, почему разработчики совсем не работали над ними.

Также стоит упомянуть, что при переезде весь ваш урожай будет потерян. И тут вы думаете, это отстой, но я же могу просто заскочить в местный магазин и купить еще семян? А вот и нет, чтобы получить семена, вам нужно будет бегать по всей локации и искать духов урожая, чтобы они дали вам эти самые семена. И этот аспект игры так же не лишен критических проблем, их тут две. Первая проблема – это то что энергия тратится на простые передвижения по местности, это просто абсурд, с учетом того что вам нужно также кормить животных, собирать, поливать урожай на ферме и добывать ресурсы в шахте. Вторая проблема имеет больший масштаб для открытия новых зон, вам придется выполнять задания жителей, и вам придется постоянно носиться по локации в поисках духа, который даст вам необходимые семена.

Задания в игре реализованы тоже плохо. Вы быстро утонете в запросах от жителей. Проблема кроется в том, что все эти запросы касаются определенного количества конкретных предметов, которые вы можете изготовить или вырастить. А из-за проблемы поиска необходимых семян это превращается в очень скучную и нудную рутину.

Наконец, мы подошли к походам в шахты – одному из самых скучных занятий в игре. Вы будете бегать по абсолютно пустым и одинаковым уровням, разбивая минералы до тех пор, пока не появится яма и вы не попадете на следующий этаж.

В игре абсолютно отсутствует любой намек на сложность, создается ощущение что игра была создана для того, чтобы тратить время игроков под видом сбора ресурсов. То же самое касается и рыбалки, так как единственное, что вам нужно делать – это нажать кнопку “А”.

Графика

Я даже не знаю, с чего начать, графика просто ужасна. Текстуры везде одинаковые, как будто для каждого объекта в игре была придумана всего лишь одна текстура. Полное отсутствие детализации всего, анимация настолько условная, что ее вполне могло бы и не быть. Музыка тоже не блещет своим разнообразием и после 20 раза прослушивания одного и того же начинает сильно бесить.

Оптимизация

Игра не вылетает, но иногда возникают незначительные просадки фпс.

Вердикт

Harvest Moon: One World – это не игра, скорее это заготовка из которой хотели сделать игру, но бросили только начав. Заламывать за это цену как за ААА проект – просто преступление. У игры нету абсолютно ничего, что отличало бы ее от Stardew Valley, кроме того, что разработчики смогли испортить абсолютно каждый аспект игры. Мой вам совет, если вам хочется поиграть в фермерский симулятор, возьмите Stardew Valley или другие проекты, а о существовании Harvest Moon: One World лучше просто забыть.

Here’re our beginners guide and all the controls that you’ll need to know when playing Harvest Moon: One World across all consoles.

The long-running farming simulator returns with Harvest Moon: One World on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles.

Revolving around a find, plant, water, and harvest cycle, the latest game in the franchise has you exploring several different biomes, being able to pick up your farm and put it down around the map.

While the Harvest Moon: One World controls are very simple, there are several mechanics at play throughout, so we’ll be detailing some of the key ones here too.

For the purposes of this Harvest Moon: One World controls guide, the left and right analogues on any console controller are listed as (L) and (R), while the d-pad buttons are shown as Up, Right, Down, and Left.

Harvest Moon: One World basic controls

Much of the Harvest Moon: One World controls set-up revolves around moving with the left analogue and interacting with items and people with the action button.

Whenever you want to interact with a person, animal, item, or Harvest Wisp, just press the action button. You’ll also need to press this action button to activate the applicable tool or action for your situation, such as using a watering can or an axe.

Here’s how to work the basic controls for Harvest Moon: One World on the Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

How to farm in Harvest Moon: One World

Once you’ve acquired the Hoe and the Watering Can in the prologue, all that you’ll need are some seeds and a plot to start farming. The go-to way to get seeds is to press the action button on the little blue orbs called Harvest Wisps.

With a square of farming plot found, which will be given a blue target when you look at it, press the action button (A/O/B) to till the plot.

Next, press the action button again to bring up the seed selection, use your controller’s top bumper buttons to scroll through the seeds, and then press the action button again to sow the seeds.

Finally, press the action button again to water the plot, turning the soil around the seeds a darker colour. You’ll need to water each plot once per day, unless the rain does the watering for you.

You’ll know when the sewn seeds are ready to harvest because the action button will pull up the fruit, vegetables, or flowers instead of watering the plot.

How to get more seeds in Harvest Moon: One World

The key to getting seeds in Harvest Moon: One World is to find the many little blue Harvest Wisps that are dotted around the map.

In each area of the map, the Wisps will give you different seeds. As well as this, the time of day and weather will also influence what seeds Harvest Wisps will give you.

Harvest Wisps respawn each day, with a round trip from your farm, around your local area, and back likely to reveal a couple of Wisps popping-up along the same pathways and space but with different seeds.

So, to get every seed available in each area, be sure to tread the routes at different times of day, and in different weather conditions.

How to get crop mutations in Harvest Moon: One World

Crops can mutate for many different reasons, including the area that they’re planted in, the weather conditions, and the season in which they’re planted.

By going into your house and pressing the action button on the Encyclopaedia (the blue book) – and then selecting one of the crops or flowers – you’ll be able to see how many potential mutations there is for a particular crop.

In the book, you can also remind yourself of the conditions that were required to get the mutations that you’ve already unlocked.

However, to ensure that the crop can survive particularly harsh weather conditions, you’ll need to give it fertiliser. Once you’ve watered a farm plot, if you press the action button on it again – and have fertiliser in your bag – you’ll be able to give it to that crop.

How to gift an item in Harvest Moon: One World

To gift an item to another person in Harvest Moon: One World, you need to go into your bag (Y/Square/X), select the item that you want to gift (A/O/B), and then select the ‘Hold’ option.

With the item in-hand, go to the person to whom you want to gift the item, and press the action button to hand it to them.

By opening your DocPad and going into the ‘Making Friends’ section, you can see the likes and dislikes of each person that you’ve met, making it easier to win them over with gifts.

How to move your farm in Harvest Moon: One World

Your farm can be picked up, moved, and deployed again across the Harvest Moon: One World map thanks to the Expando-Farm called Sparky.

To move your farm, you’ll first want to scout ahead to find a location that can become your new farm – marked by the presence of Bountiful Soil and a Sparky Icon.

Next, use the action button on your home farm’s Sparky to open up its energy metre. At first, it’ll be at its lowest level, but you can fill up the bar by putting your crops into the Expando-Farm. When the bar is full, you can move your farm.

With a full bar, you’ll be asked if you want to put away your farm so that you can move location. You should note that this won’t scoop up your farm plots and crops: only your buildings and livestock.

To expand your farm again at a new location, simply press the action button on the Sparky Icon at the new area.

How to make wild animals your pets in Harvest Moon: One World

As you explore the world, you’ll encounter several animals in different seasons, days of the week, and times of the day, with there being at least a Hare, Fox, Brown Bear, and Bobcat in the first area alone.

These wild animals can become your pets in Harvest Moon: One World, but to do so, you’ll need to return to them several times. When you spot the animals, walk up to them and press the interact button to pet the animal.

You can pet them for as long as they are about, but only the interaction that sparks the burst of tiny hearts – often only the first interaction – will count towards taming the animal.

Petting the wild animals will fill up their music note bar very gradually, but when it does eventually fill, you’ll be asked if you want to keep the now-tamed animal as a pet.

If you accept, the animal will join your farm, but you’ll need to make sure that you fill its food bowl with and interact with it each day to keep it happy.

How to save your game in Harvest Moon: One World

There are two ways to save in Harvest Moon: One World, with the easiest way being to do so just before you sleep.

When you go to your bed, you’ll have the option to ‘Sleep’ or ‘Save and sleep.’ Selecting the latter will move the game forward as well as allow you to pick a save slot to keep your progress.

You can also save in Harvest Moon: One World by opening the DocPad, going to the Save/Load tab, and then selecting the ‘Save’ option.

How to recover from a bad condition

If you don’t get back to bed before your Stamina (marked by the hearts atop the screen) runs out, your character will pass out. You won’t lose any items and will be transported back to your farm, but your condition will deteriorate. This can also happen if you cut it close to your Stamina running out.

As shown by the face in the top-left corner, the cheery face will degrade to a flat face, or a blue cross-eyes face. In these bad conditions, your Stamina will decrease at a much faster rate.

To recover from a bad condition, you’ll want to aim to go to bed before you hit one-heart of Stamina the next day. Then, when you wake up, your condition will have improved.

How to pause and stop the clock in Harvest Moon: One World

Part of the farming simulator’s challenge is that you’re up against a ticking clock each day, needing to complete all of your tasks and exploration goals at set times of the day and before your Stamina burns out.

If you need to take a break and pause the game, just open the DocPad. Working as the game’s menu, being in the DocPad freezes the clock to let you do some research or step away for a bit.

With a very easy to grasp controls set-up, Harvest Moon: One World is one of the most accessible farming simulators available, but there’s also plenty to explore and learn about within the game’s mechanics.

How to find Seeds in Harvest Moon: One World

After you’ve played the game for a while, you’ll be able to use the Harvest Wisp search function to locate Seeds that you’ve already found.

To do this, go into the the World Map, via the DocPad, and press the Harvest Wisp List button – shown to the bottom left of the map. You’ll be able to search for Crops and Flowers that you’ve found before, and then they’ll appear on the World Map.

This search isn’t great, with the map itself being distinctly crude and unhelpful. It does, however, help you to see if you can grab Seeds at that moment in time and the general area in which they’ll appear.

Несмотря на то, что практически все игровые жанры подразумевают определенную долю погружения геймеров в атмосферу происходящего, лучше всего с этой задачей на текущий момент справляются два направления: RPG и симуляторы. И если первый предлагает игрокам возможность отыгрыша на уровне выбора реплик либо принятия решений, то симуляторы используют более глобальный подход, предоставляя возможность вжиться в роль персонажа на повседневно-бытовом уровне. И Harvest Moon: One World для Switch — отличный тому пример.

Что из себя представляет данный проект и чем примечателен его релиз? По факту это фентези-симулятор, повествующий о деревенской жизни в сказочном мире. Игроку дается заброшенная ферма, где ему предстоит поднимать целину практически с нуля. Помимо того, что угодья находятся в крайне запущенном состоянии, на местных землях еще и не растет ничего, кроме картошки. Выход из этой ситуации один, и для этого предстоит не только изучать селекцию и тонкости ведения хозяйства, но и находить загадочных Огоньков Урожая — маленьких магических созданий, которым Богиня Урожая подарила свои знания о всевозможных фермерских культурах. Искать их предстоит среди множества красочных локаций, уникальный и запоминающийся стиль которых является более чем весомой причиной купить Harvest Moon: One World на Nintendo Switch.

Впрочем, путешествие по миру не обещает быть легкой прогулкой: на своем пути игроков поджидают хитрые соперники, сложные загадки и коварные ловушки, преодоление которых потребует сноровки и смекалки. В давние времена, когда над миром властвовала богиня урожая, мир процветал. Люди взращивали различные культуры, разводили животных, удили рыбу и не знали горя. Но шли года, и человечество перестало ценить дары природы, медленно уничтожая её. Богиня неумолимо теряла своё могущество, не в силах что-либо изменить. Так и настал час, когда она была вынуждена использовать свои последние силы, чтобы создать множество огоньков урожая и исчезнуть без следа.

Наши главные герои не застали расцвет. Всё, что они знают — это вкус картошки поутру, на обед и ужин, ведь семян от других культур больше не сыскать. И только старая книга всё ещё хранит воспоминания о тех временах, когда люди жили в гармонии с природой. Но молодые люди не собираются так просто сдаваться: вооружившись мотыгой и мобильной фермой, они отправятся в путешествие по всему миру, чтобы вернуть богиню урожая и подарить людям надежду.

Особенностью новой части серии Harvest Moon должен был стать большой мир, который игрок бы постепенно исследовал. По мере расширения границ ему бы становилось доступно всё больше новых культур, присущих данной области, животных, а его взору представало уже не одно селение, а целых пять. На словах звучит очень даже притягательно, вот только задумка разработчиков не сработала должным образом. Но обо всём по порядку.

Сперва начинающему фермеру необходимо найти место для своей портативной фермы. Её можно разместить в специально отведённых участках, а в дальнейшем — спрятать обратно в карман при переезде. Домик и амбар дают небольшой, но и этого более чем хватает. А вот расширить угодья для вспашки не выйдет — высаживать зёрна можно только на особых делянках.

Как только фермер облюбует подходящий уголок, настаёт время взрастить свои первые посевы. Купить семена в местном магазине не получится — их придётся собирать ручками у тех самых огоньков урожая. Сферы света расположены то тут, то там, и они сменяют друг друга в разное время суток. Правда, выдают они строго по одной семечке определённой культуры в руки, поэтому понадобится найти множество маленьких созданий, чтобы засеять поле.

На самом деле, хорошенько побегать придётся ещё из-за строения мира, который представлен коридорами (порой слишком длинными) и открытыми пространствами (иногда — неприлично большими). Причём зачастую на обширных участках вы не найдёте ничего интересного кроме парочки деревьев да огоньков урожая. Важные объекты вроде шахт также находятся на отдалении от мест, где можно расположить ферму.

Сами города, возле которых мы обитаем, совсем крохотные — пару магазинов да несколько персонажей. В их пределах гостей никак не развлекают, событий не организуют. Так и проводит фермер день за днём за поливом грядок да сбором семян. Разве что можно приударить за местными жителями, однако и тут не всё так просто — ключевых героев тоже разбросало по всему свету. Поэтому понадобится время, чтобы обойти селения и познакомиться с потенциальными женихами и невестами. Но даже в этом случае особо веселее не становится. Ведь при более близком знакомстве с обитателями мира понимаешь, что их забыли наделить хоть сколько-нибудь любопытными чертами характера, предысторией, связью с другими персонажами или хотя бы занимательными фразами и диалогами. Например, даже по прошествии лет помнишь Робин из Stardew Valley, которая заведовала столярной мастерской, Линуса, проживающего в отдалении от всех, или интриге о родстве Абигейл и местного волшебника. Ты мог узнать разные детали о жителях города Пеликан даже при обычном осмотре их домов и общении вне событий, связанных с прогрессом дружбы. На подобное в Harvest Moon: One World даже рассчитывать не стоит.

К сожалению, разделение мира на отдельные части явно не пошло игре на пользу. На деле получилось, что один город, с которым мы привыкли иметь дело в симуляторах фермера, был разбит на пять совсем небольших поселений. Так игроки лишились не только сезонных событий, праздников и очаровательных персонажей, но и ощущения, что вокруг него кипит жизнь. В Stardew Valley и Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town жители снуют туда-сюда в зависимости от своего расписания, и весь их путь при желании можно отследить. Они могут собираться на площади ради обсуждения последних сплетен, в нерабочий вечер отправиться в местные питейные заведения или и вовсе не покидать пределы дома в дождливую погоду. В новой части Harvest Moon же создаётся ощущение, что проводишь время в городах-призраках, где их обитатели большую часть времени проводят дома или неподалёку от него.

При выполнении основных сюжетных заданий на почтовый ящик начинают приходить просьбы разного рода. Принести новоиспечённым друзьям подсолнухи, всевозможные цветы, обработанные минералы из шахты, выловленную из рек и морей рыбу, блюда собственного приготовления и всё в таком духе. И вот тут начинающие фермеры остро сталкиваются с проблемой сбора семечек определённого типа. Поручения обычно требуют принести от трёх и более штук конкретного растения, но как мы помним, зёрна в этом мире выдают чуть ли не по талонам. Например, во всём мире можно сыскать только один огонёк урожая, который бы делился семенами для засева магических ягод. А когда вас просят принести четыре таких ягодки, это означает, вам придётся четыре дня подряд посещать пустыню в определённое время, чтобы не упустить нужную сферу света. Просто безудержное фермерское веселье.

Кстати, прежде чем вообще целенаправленно собирать всевозможные культуры, их прежде нужно найти. В игре присутствует мировая карта, призванная помочь с этим делом, но растения начнут отображаться только после того, как вы хоть раз обнаружили огонёк с их семенем. Более того, она слишком схематичная, чтобы показать точное расположение зёрен.

В выполнении поручений не помогает ещё одна игровая особенность — мутация посевов. Каждое растение имеет свои предпочтения к почве и времени года. Порой из-за особенностей этих условий вы можете получить неожиданный урожай. Помидор отнюдь не против вырасти летом в пляжных песках, но при этом часть посеянных семян мутирует в другой сорт — Сан-Марцано. Также получится и с обычным подсолнухом, который обернётся сортом Восходящее солнце. Механика необычная, и явно должна мотивировать фермера на эксперименты, вот только в действительности она скорее мешает. Жители обычно просят принести им самые обычные цветы и овощи. Чтобы уменьшить шанс мутации, иногда приходилось выращивать растения в определённых регионах, что вызывало необходимость лишний раз побегать.

Поручения так часто упоминаются, так как именно они и сюжетные задания стали двигателем игрового процесса. Увы, но во время изучения мира понимаешь, что нет никакого желания развиваться. Небольшие угодья на своё усмотрение обустраивать нельзя, денег и так хватало, чтобы пополнить амбар нужными животными, приобрести недорогие рецепты, улучшения, а более дорогие вещи не особо и нужны были. Строить отношения с непроработанными персонажами — тоже сомнительное удовольствие.

Мы привыкли, что сезоны обычно играют большую роль в играх подобного рода, влияя на жизнь фермера. В Harvest Moon: One World времена года тоже сменяют друг друга, но вы вряд ли заметите разницу, особенно когда речь заходит о посевах. Найденные семена можно посадить в любое время года в любом регионе, и они скорее всего дадут плоды. Если вы не угодите их предпочтениям, они просто начнут всходить менее эффективно — им может понадобиться больше времени на рост или удобрения. Например, ананас в своём описании утверждает, что ему нужно лето и песок, чтобы расти здоровым и счастливым. Но он без особых проблем взрос в холмистой местности осенью. Есть, конечно, совсем капризные растения, к требованиям которых нужно прислушиваться, но их встречается немного.

По мере прохождения часть проблем исчезает, вот только интереснее игра от этого не становится. К примеру, достигнув определённого сюжетного задания, местный учёный откроет возможность использовать телепорт между некоторыми точками на мировой карте. Выполняя задания ключевых персонажей, вам откроются сезонные события — по одному на каждый город. А если продавать выращенные культуры, то со временем их семена появятся на полках магазинов. Кстати, вырастить каждого растения нужно довольно большое количество, что довольно проблематично в условиях сбора по одной семечке в день и возможных мутаций. Лично у меня в магазинах к концу сюжетной линии разве что появились в продаже картошка, два вида перца, обычные помидоры и Сан-Марцано. Просто за задания часто дают большое количество зёрен именно помидоров, и мой персонаж некоторое время обитал на пляже.

Из-за отсутствия целостности мира процесс получения новых инструментов и возможностей также может показаться сбивающим с толку. Вы можете начать сюжетную линию не по порядку, предусмотренном разработчиками, и в итоге своевременно не получить нужные улучшения. Или, например, один из персонажей запросил два огранённых изумруда — казалось бы, не самое сложное задание. Но возможность заниматься огранкой именно изумрудов на тот момент никто так и не дал.

Чтобы завершить сюжетную линию, вам понадобится около 20-25 часов. Если захотите полностью заполнить местную энциклопедию, придётся задержаться в проекте на три-четыре внутриигровых года. При этом разработчики не предоставили интересных персонажей, событий или возможностей, которые бы удерживали игрока на протяжении всего этого времени. Визуальная и музыкальная составляющие не смогли порадовать ни глаз, ни слух.

Harvest Moon One World: How to Upgrade Your Barn and Keep More Animals

Need to expand on the limited Barn that you’re given at the start of Harvest Moon: One World? Here’s what you need to get a larger Barn.

It doesn’t take long for your basic Barn in Harvest Moon: One World to become filled. As you progress further and unlock new rare animals, you’ll need more space, but the Barn only has three large and five small slots.

Of course, there’s always the option to release your animals, but doing so could reduce your feed of valuable resources and seem like a waste of money as you won’t get anything in return.

Luckily, as you progress through Harvest Moon’s many requests, you’ll unlock the ability to upgrade to a Large Animal Barn, and you can then upgrade it again. So, here’s what you need to know.

How to unlock the Large Animal Barn upgrade in Harvest Moon: One World

The key to upgrading to a Large House and a Large Animal Barn is to keep completing requests for Doc Jr. Either via a call through the DocPad or by talking to them in-person, you will get several tasks.

The Large Animal Barn upgrade becomes available after Doc Jr tells you about some new inventions that they have in mind, requesting two Platinum. This will come after the other fetch-quests that unlock the Kitchen, Workbench, Small Sprinkler, and Large House.

You may need to upgrade your Harvesting Tools first, at least to Expert Level, but you can find Platinum Ore fairly easily in the Lebkuchen Mine by smashing the nodes with your hammer.

With two pieces of Platinum Ore, you can return to Doc Jr’s home and pay 150G per piece to refine the ore into Platinum. Giving the refined Platinum to Doc Jr will unlock the blueprints for a Large Animal Barn.

You’ll then find that getting the Large Animal Barn in Harvest Moon: One World is an expensive venture, but luckily, the materials are easy to find.

Where to find Oak Lumber and Silver in Harvest Moon: One World

You’ll need ten Oak Lumber, five Silver, and a massive 50,000G to unlock the Barn upgrade in Harvest Moon: One World. That said, Oak Lumber and Silver is very easy to find.

Oak trees are found all over the first area of the game, Calisson, and the area to the east of Calisson that leads to Halo Halo. To get ten Oak Lumber, you’ll need to chop down the trunk and the stump of five oak trees.

For the Silver, the best place to go to is the Lebkuchen Mine. It’s one of the common resources and likely won’t require more than two or three floors of exploration to get the required five Silver Ore.

With the Silver Ore, return to Doc Jr’s home and refine it by paying 40G per Silver Ore to get five sheets of Silver.

As for the 50,000G, recipes are one of the fastest routes to cash, with each standard Egg being worth 300G if made into a Fried Egg on your Kitchen unit. You could also look to grow the most valuable crops in Harvest Moon, targeting the ones that generate the most money per growing day to ensure quick earnings.

How to upgrade the Barn in Harvest Moon: One World

After you’ve unlocked the Large Animal Barn blueprints and have acquired the materials and money needed, you can go back to Doc Jr’s home to upgrade your Barn.

Your upgraded Barn in Harvest Moon: One World will initially look very similar to your first Barn from the interior, but what the upgrade does is open the passage to the left side.

Going through this new passage to the left reveals a whole new, but identical, space to the first Barn. Now, when you go to an Animal Shop, you’ll have the option to put new animals in Animal Barn 1 or Animal Barn 2, giving you a total of six large animal and ten small animal spaces.

As you would assume, with the first Barn upgrade unlocking another space within the Barn, there’s also a second Barn upgrade available in the game.

The upgrade on the Large Animal Barn becomes available after you’ve completed Doc Jr’s request to get the coveted and rare material Adamantite, as well as the other House and furniture inventions, such as the Dresser.

Once the next Barn upgrade blueprint has been revealed, you’ll need even more Adamantite, Maple Lumber, and 250,000G.

Adamantite Ore is found in the lower levels of the Lebkuchen Mine, with Maple Lumber also being found in Lebkuchen. Go to the open wooded area to the east of Lebkuchen to chop down some maple trees and get the Maple Lumber.

So, while the first Barn upgrade in Harvest Moon: One World is relatively easy to complete, you’ll need to grind for lots of money and some rare materials to unlock the next Barn upgrade.
