Her Story

Her Story предлагает геймерам окунуться в захватывающее расследование, по делу Ханны Смит. Её муж исчез, и только вы сможете узнать правду о случившемся, используя подробный анализ действий подозреваемой, и опираясь на улики и допросы. А поможет в этой нелёгкой работе старенький компьютер – единственная управляемая вещь в видеоигре, ведь перестрелки и похождения отсутствуют. Составляйте правильные комбинации расследования, и пролейте свет на достоверность показаний в загадочном деле.

Собственно, главной геймплейной «фичей» будет просматривание видео, на которых запечатлены интервью подозреваемой. Система не может выводить на экран более 5 записей, а поэтому нужно подбирать по названиям важные фрагменты. Всего доступно 271 видеороликов, и просмотрев большую часть, можно разобраться во всей истории, и сделать правильные выводы. Помимо базы данных «L.O.G.I.C», на рабочем столе присутствуют текстовые обучающие файлы, а также интересная мини-игра Mirror Game, похожая на реверси.

Для удобства навигации по всем записям, можно ставить специальные тэги, чтобы позже было куда легче ориентироваться. Также, сохраняйте в отведённую папку важные факты повествования. Данная игра подойдёт усидчивым игрокам, ведь в ней нет экшен сцен, драк, и других «прелестей» боевиков. Но вы обнаружите захватывающую историю девушки, которая не оставит равнодушным никого. По окончанию основного действия, ролика по завершению игры не будет, вместо этого нужно написать в специальный чат, что дело завершено.

Логика и внимательность — путь к прохождению

Иногда девушка будет увиливать от ответов, а иногда подробно рассказывать о моментах своей жизни. Вслушиваясь в ее историю, игрок должен брать на заметку каждую мелкую деталь. Поиск видеозаписей происходит при помощи ввода определенных запросов. Именно здесь игроку и понадобится вся его внимательность. Найденные ролики необходимо добавлять в сессионное меню снизу, в котором следует выстраивать каждое видео в правильном порядке, основываясь на времени записи. Отметим, что ролики предстают перед геймером в непоследовательном порядке. То есть уже в самом начале игры можно просмотреть последнюю видеозапись девушки. Это позволяет игрокам по-разному воспринимать сюжет, который, кстати, находится на очень высоком уровне.

Стоит отдать должное актрисе и вокалистке группы Joe Gideon and the Shark — Виве Сайферт (Viva Seifert), которая и сыграла главную героиню Her Story. Her Story – это квест в жанре интерактивного кино, в котором игрокам предлагается окунуться в интригующую историю двух девочек-близняшек, судьбы которых переплелись в одну целую…

События игры происходят по большей части на экране как такового монитора, на котором игрок в роли главного героя должен просматривать видеозаписи с допросами двух девушек-близняшек, сестер. Некогда они сразу после рождения были разлучены, но спустя какое-то время девочки вновь сошлись и начали тайно проживать в одной семье, подменяя друг друга, выработав общую модель поведения, и даже начав делить мужчин со временем. Но, как и любая подобная история, эта тоже не могла привести ни к чему хорошему. В итоге все привело к трагедии, которую вам как раз-таки и придется расследовать.

На всех видео девушки отвечают на вопросы, и вам нужно будет найти в их ответах то, что могло бы выдать одну из них. Цель же, которую вы будете преследовать, это выяснение деталей убийства, которое было совершено одной из сестер.

По ходу просмотра видеофайлов в Her Story вы сможете оставлять на них метки, которые позже будут видны в архиве и помогут вам найти то, что требуется. Her Story – это удивительная игра, про сбор воедино истории Анны Смит, пока она дает интервью в семи разных ситуациях.

Пока вы будете просматривать систему, наполненную компьютерами, в поисках слов, сказанных в видео, вы раскроете правду и начнете понимать, что случилось, и главное – зачем.

Но игра не имеет прямого конца, в том плане, в котором вы привыкли видеть видеоигры. Никаких финальных кат-сцен. Поэтому вы остаетесь с загадкой один на один, до того, как вы сами не догадаетесь о том, что вам хотели сказать.

Мы думаем что восемнадцатого июня, Ева давала показания, но похоже, что это Анна. Затем двадцать пятого июня, это точно Анна. И двадцать седьмого июня, Ева снова тут, снова старается показать Анной.

Мы можем так подумать, потому что мы узнаем, что перед допросом, Анна получила несколько синяков на своем лице в драке, перед каждым из допросов, но на ней это можно заметить только во время второго. В третьем, оно пропадает, и Ева дотрагивается не до той стороны лица.

Женщина в ролике также имеет утреннюю недугу. Позже мы поймем, что Ева является беременной.

Тридцатого июня, Анна возвращается. Мы знаем это, потому что у неё нет никакого тату на её руке, которую Ева имеет на следующем допросе первого июля. Трудно сказать, кто там находится во время короткого интервью, которое проходило второго июля, но третьего июля, перед нами уж точно Ева.

Она проваливает тест детектора лжи, когда ей задают вопрос насчет её имени.

Это интервью с Евой в белой футболке, это материал найбольшей правды в игре. Стоит просто доверится тому, что Ева говорит.

Ранее детство

Перво-наперво, девушки являются близняшками.

Ева говорит: «Когда Анна родилась, я родилась вместе с ней. Медсестра была там, чтобы помогать. Медсестра сказала моей матери, что я была мертва».

Но медсестра по имени Флоренция, одурачила всех, забрав себе Еву и вырастив, как собственную дочь. Получилось так, что Анна позже встретилась с Евой.

Ева объясняет: «Мы как будто бы видели друг друга раньше, но все поменялось после того, как мы поняли, что это действительно когда-то было, и это не просто ощущение».

Но когда Флоренция умирает, Ева следует к Анне домой и живет вместе с ней. Они хотели максимально походить друг на друга.

Анна и Симон

Они также делили и мальчиков, но, когда Анна встретила Симона, она решает, что не будет делить этого парня со своей сестрой-близняшкой.

Ева говорит о том, что теперь правила изменились. Но все стало намного сложнее, когда Анна стала беременной, и выехала с дома своей семьи и въехала в дом Симона. Ева старается также забеременеть, чтобы стать похожей на сестру, но у неё никак не получается. И она застряла в дома родителей Анны.

Но Анна теряет своего ребенка. Об этом Анна дала интервью об этом тридцатого июня.

Ева и Симон

Она начала петь в баре по вечерам, и затем в один день она встречает Симона на одном из шоу.

«Он заметил, как я пою на одном из шоу. Чистый шанс – не уверена, что я помню, что он там делал. Помню, что как раз выпивала, как вдруг зашел он. Мы начали разговор. Я знала кто он такой, а вот он похоже не совсем.»

«Он был ошеломлен моим видом»

Получилось так, что они переспали, и Ева стала беременной. Вот это да. Она не сказала об этом Симону, но на Дне Рождении близняшек, она рассказала об этом Анне.

День убийцы

Ева говорит Анне про своего ребенка, но она лжет про отца ребенка. «Я сказала ей, что им является один из её парней. Которого она успела встретить в баре».

Значит Анна откидывает его, подзывает Еву и начинает с ней драку. «Мы кричали друг на друга. Орали. Плакали. Мы бились. Я ударила её, оставив синяк.»

«Я устала от всего этого и я попросту ушла». Ева затем села в машину и отправилась в Гласгоу. «Я вела машину… плохо. Поэтому я вызвала такси. Он позаботился о том, чтобы я добралась до госпиталя».

Убийца

Вернувшись домой, это случилось – по словам Евы.

«Её история состоит в том, что она ждала, что он вернется. Она старалась походить на меня. Он сказал, что хочет быть со мной»

«Затем он преподнес ещё один подарок – другое зеркало. Такое же, какое он подарил ранее Анны. Это уникальный подарок. Она взбесилась. Разбила зеркало. Они поссорились. Кричали. Он ударил её. Она подняла кусочек зеркала, и перерезала ему горло».

Получается, что Ева приехала домой и уже обнаружила Симона мертвым. А также увидела Анну, всю покрытую кровью. Двое спрятали тело. А затем часы, они изменили время на часах, чтобы все выглядело так, будто Ева все ещё в Глазгове, чтобы было алиби.

Интервью

Ева стараясь быть похожей на Анну, направилась в полицию, говоря им о том, что Симон куда-то пропал. Затем, через несколько дней, она вернулась, и сказала о том, что нашла его тело.

Но дела пошли плохо, когда полицейские нашли волосинки Евы. А затем, полицейские обвинили Анну в том, что она представляет не того, кем является. Наконец, Ева хотела всех надурить, как вы уже читали ранее.

В конце концов, Ева просит адвоката. А затем она говорит о том, что её сестра пропала, и уже никогда не вернется.

Вот такая вот история. Довольно странная, некоторые детали до конца непонятные, кто же все-таки был настоящим убийцей, кого же все-таки посадили в тюрьму? Возможно, если покопаться в игре поглубже, вы сможете найти ответы на эти вопросы. Но в этом и есть прекрасность этой игры, ведь в ней столько граней, что все просто так и не заметить.

What am I missing?

Ok, I get that this is an innovative approach to a mystery genre, but there are some things that could be vastly improved. I wasn’t really sure what I was supposed to be doing and how I completed the game, to start with, so it would help if there were more instructions or context. Unfortunately I felt that the actress was very poor, I mean a level drama class poor, which was a big let down given the brevity of the story line. At one point she plays a guitar in the interview (the actress is a singer in real life), though undoubtedly cute, it just takes away any credibility from the experience.I was able to piece the story together very quickly (within 25 minutes) after stumbling on a key piece of information, so anyone with a modicum of intelligence will be able to guess at the basic direction of the story pretty quickly. Don’t get me wrong, I liked it..just not £4 worth of like. more like 0.79p like.

I was absolutely entranced by this game. It took me 2.5 hours to complete and during that time I had no idea what was going on around me, I was so sucked into the world of this game. I made pages and pages of notes. I transcribed sections of dialogue and cross-referenced my notes against them. I drew diagrams. I felt like I was doing WORK and that it was worthwhile, meaningful and rewarding work. I’ve never felt this way about a game before.

The story emerges organically, based entirely on what parts of it you choose to follow up. There’s a real joy in making your own discoveries. The only motivation to play is your own curiosity, and to that extent you can immerse yourself as deeply as you like. How refreshing to play a game which refuses to hold your hand and present you with arbitrary goals to achieve in the face of a carefully managed difficulty curve. Instead, we have a prime example of how games as a medium can expand the realms of what is possible with storytelling. The stroke of genius here is to do away with pretty much every traditional ‘game mechanic’. There is no ‘strategy’, nothing to ‘beat’, no real beginning or end. No tutorials. Nothing to collect or level up or complete. There is only Her Story.

Not for me

I am not going to say ‘don’t buy this’, because apparently lots of people really enjoyed it. I am just going to say, beware that there is a possibility you may find it as annoying and awful as I did. I found the idea to be interesting and I feel it could be amazing if put together right, that is why it deserves 2 stars from me rather than 1, but the acting is terrible. In my opinion incredibly bad, «I could do better» level bad. I will admit that I didn’t watch long enough to find out the killer or reveal a lot of the story, so the whole story may be good. But honestly I couldn’t care less about what happened to the man because the whole thing is so unrealistic. I can’t suspend disbelief at all when the acting is this bad. It’s also a little preposterous, the part where the actress left to throw up was so badly acted it was laughable. The point where she started playing the guitar was completely ridiculous (the guitar playing wasn’t even that good!), at that point I just couldn’t take any more. You may enjoy it, idk, fine, but it can’t be THAT good. The other person on here that wrote it was better than any TV or movie they could think of, I want to know what they’re smoking.

Think about the journey not the destination!

I read several reviews before I bought this game. Some people love it while others think it is terrible. I’m in the «love it» camp. In the game you are a policeman and you can review the clips to solve the crime. Policemen have to prove guilt beyond all reasonable doubt. So you don’t just have to find out «who done it» you have to be able to explain your evidence. This is where the fun comes. You immerse yourself in a scenario, you take notes, you look for inconsistencies, you look at the time line. Gradually you piece together your analysis. So ignore the bad reviews that say it was easy and the acting was bad. They were simply trying to get to the end when in reality the fun was there in all the detail put there by the game makers to await your discovering the total picture.

Different and Fun but Rushed

The gameplay was something different and even though the acting was pretty poor it’s still neat to play full motion video games. Unfortunately the ending was abrubt, I had no clue how I came across it, and it was apparent I had not seen around 50% of the game. This is why I say the games release was rushed, they should have worked on a more «complete» ending.

Having said that, if they release a sequel perhaps with extra features that take you outside of the interview room and perhaps into a chat room with an AI bot or something, the game has potential.

In summary, I enjoyed the new idea, but compared to other titles at the same price point, I thought it was over priced because the lack of thought about bringing the game to a conclusion.

Nice Idea, Poor Execution

This isn’t one of those one star reviews like the others I’ve read here. I’m not going to complain that the game interface is ‘only’ a search function, and that you’re ‘only’ watching videos. The idea of catching key details and using those to unlock more and more of the story is neat. The person complaining about keeping track of the dates has totally missed the point of the game, as have the people complaining that you have to keep your own notes.

The issue is the execution. I uncovered key details which revealed the exact nature of the whole story very early on. As a result, various story details that would have seemed like key clues to many players lacked any punch when I saw them. What doesn’t help is that a game like this relies entirely on its script and acting, and neither were realistic, or very good. It feels entirely unnatural.

It’s an interesting concept, the non-linear narrative gradually revealed through interaction, but it fails.

Intriguing and different

This is a really interesting and original concept for a game. However, it’s very difficult to think up of search terms so you access every single clip. I would also have liked a feature which would have let you play each clip in order so you could see the interview from start to finish.

Ok but then what?

So, like many other people have said, they found out what had really happened very early on in playing the game. Same thing happened with me. Her acting was okay, but not the best. But i could sense the difference between the two characters. I enjoyed working around and piecing together Her Story, but what I was waiting for is to bring her to justice. Or to have more action or direction as to what I am supposed to do once I figure out the entire story. The files on the computer were useless to be honest. Nothing worthwile. There should be a conclusion to the game. I just feel like i wasted my money. I LOVED the interface and the entire interaction. But, it seems incomplete

Incredible, so gripping.

I absolutely loved this game. It is so amazing to have the freedom to explore a police database and listen out for clues. When you find a video with some information that fills a gap it is the best feeling ever. I got so immersed into this game that I completely forgot where I was! Do not think about the final destination if the game as that is not important. This game Is realistic and therefore doesn’t throw gimmicks at you to confirm to normal game strategies. You feel naughty, like you have access to information you shouldn’t. The acting and video thing is awesome. Seriously, worth every penny and every minute!!

Kept Me Hooked

A simple approach, but intriguing enough to keep me searching long after I needed to. There is a system to sort interview clips, although it’s laborious and needs improvement (especially as there is no delete function) but I didn’t find the need to use pencil and paper. Both the acting and music are good and I preferred it to Contradiction, which could be frustrating and proscriptive at times. It is pricey and if you are approaching this as a «whodunnit» game, you probably will feel short changed, but if approached as a story to be uncovered it works and I’m glad I bought it.

Давольно интересная игра,похожа на simulacra,правда надо иметь знания английского что бы играть в неё.

Игра скорее всего понравится тем кто играл во все части SIMULACRA, надо знать английский язык выше базового уровня потому-что безе него ни как не поиграешь и не пойиешь что творится.Есть микро скримеры, в основно игра давит атмосферой которая здесь хороша.
Рекомендуктся проходить в наушниках если есть рядом люди, если нет то можно и без них так как саундтрэка здесь нет. Самая главная проблема игры-надо сортиравать записи иначе ты запутаешся и ничего не поймешь, а сортировать их заебёшся, (извините за мат).
В целом ставлю 9, из-за того что если у тебя хорошое зрение можна налажить кирпечи из-за скримеров. Удачной игры

Сюжет Immortality посвящён вымышленной актрисе Мариссе Марсель, которая снялась лишь в трёх кинокартинах — в 1968, 1970 и 1999 годах. Ни один из фильмов так и не увидел свет, а сама Марсель пропала при загадочных обстоятельствах.

Цель игрока — узнать, что случилось с девушкой. Для этого нужно изучить материалы, отснятые для каждого фильма — от завершённых сцен и дублей до кадров с репетиций и съёмочной площадки. Кроме просмотра и перемотки игрок может выбирать отдельные детали в кадре, которые служат своего рода «гиперссылками» на аналогичные элементы в другом ролике.

Разработкой Immortality руководил Сэм Барлоу, известный по двум играм серии Silent Hill — Origins и Shattered Memories, а также «интерактивным фильмам» Her Story и Telling Lies. Вместе с ним над сценарием игры работали Аллан Скотт («Ход королевы»), Амелия Грей («Мистер Робот») и Барри Гиффорд («Шоссе в никуда»).

Релиз состоялся на ПК и Xbox Series X|S, причём на старте игра доступна в библиотеке подписного сервиса Game Pass.

Критики приняли Immortality очень тепло: на момент публикации заметки средняя оценка игры на Metacritic составила 92 балла из 100, а на OpenCritic — 90 баллов из 100. При этом свою рекомендацию дали 100% обозревателей. А журнал Edge поставил ей 10 из 10, — игра стала 24-й в истории издания, получившей высшую оценку.

Большинство журналистов осталось в восторге от сюжета, актёрской игры и самой структуры Immortality. Многие отметили, что авторам удаётся заставить игроков сопереживать Мариссе Марсель и как следует увлечь их процессом поиска всё новых улик и «распутывания» повествования.

Жаловались критики в основном на то, что процесс изучения фильмов и роликов может наскучить ближе к самому концу. Когда игрок уже находит ответ на вопрос о том, что случилось с пропавшей актрисой, искать среди материалов оставшиеся сюжетные нити может быть не так интересно.

Immortality — завораживающий детектив и одна из самых неожиданных историй, что я встречались мне в видеоиграх за весь год.

Инструмент для поиска по изображению делает сам процесс расследования куда доступнее и банальнее, чем в Her Story и Telling Lies. Но игре удалось увлечь меня на все девять часов своей убедительностью, актёрскими работами и откровениями в духе Дэвида Линча. Может, Immortality и не останется в моих мыслях навечно, но уж точно надолго задержится там.

Барлоу удалось дать мне свободу действий и позволить найти собственный путь через его удивительно взаимосвязанный мир. Но, добравшись до финала, я не уверен, что именно в этом была его задумка. Наверное, я действовал даже более вольно, чем ему бы хотелось. И кажется, что ещё много сюжетных линий остались неразрешёнными.

Great message but has issues

This game was great with an excellent message incorporated. But once you get to episode 3 this game is IMPOSSIBLE to get through. I thought it was just me being dumb but it seems like a glitch or something, even if my fear bar isn’t up and I’m sprinting to get away I’ll die immediately. Watching a gameplay video from about 3 months ago they are getting through it with a more reasonable amount of difficulty. This must be a recent bug.
I really just want to play this and see the story but I can’t get through episode 3. Tried jumping to episode 4, same issue there. I hope this gets fixed so I can enjoy this game! 🙁

Love it

I love the message of the game as a whole; I think that as a woman (especially a WOC) that it’s important to create these types of spaces in order to raise awareness to the dehumanization women face on a daily basis, through exploring the lense with a little girl as our main character, It intensified the message, we watch as these cruel men attempt to rip Willow’s innocence away from her and as the game progresses she begins to increasingly fear the world more than when she’d first walk out the house. We also got to see glimpses of Ally’s, bystanders, and enemies, which I thought made things even more realistic. (I can’t lie I found myself getting nervous at my grown age during the scenes where I had to get away from strangers). Overall, it’s a wonderful game and I can’t wait to see what the developer does next!

I had a heart attack while playing this. Which is good, in a way, so that’s not my complaint.

Do I need to use my flashlight (C), press A and spam B with my left hand and move forward with my right? (“Not All Men?” level) Because I’ve tried everything else.

I came from tiktok and thought I could just have a stressful walking strategy game without spikes just, like, sitting on the side of the road?? But this is a bit much lol. I’ll keep trying, but I’ve been stuck for a while.

Обзор Her Story – история одного убийства

В глубине архивного отдела полицейского участка, при слабом свечении жужжащего старого монитора, я просматриваю видеоматериалы, в которых молодая женщина разговаривает с детективом. Собрание записей допроса по делу убийства, произошедшего в 1994 году, разбиты на сотни частей, и беспорядочно разбросаны по всей базе данных. Я пытаюсь собрать их воедино. Чем больше я смотрю эти короткие нарезки, тем больше я узнаю о этой женщине, о покойнике и событиях, связанных с его кончиной.

Her Story установлена на рабочем столе старого ПК и вам необходимо просмотреть эту запутанную коллекцию видеоматериалов, в попытке найти хоть какие-нибудь зацепки. Изначально вам предлагают выбрать раздел ‘MURDER’ (УБИЙСТВО), появляется несколько фрагментов видео, которые описывают загадочное происшествие. Но не стоит думать, что повествование пойдет по какому-то определенному пути. Каждый раз, в зависимости от выбора ключевых моментов, история будет развиваться по-иному. В первые минуты вы можете увидеть то, что я увидел только лишь в конце.

Удивительно то, что этот нелинейный сюжет со всеми перипетиями, неожиданными поворотами и разоблачениями не заставит вас усомниться в правдивости этой истории. В один момент вы считаете, что выяснили все, и тут вдруг всплывает материал, который заставляет вас пересмотреть целиком всю историю. Вы будете ненавидеть эту женщину, а спустя минуту, будете ей сочувствовать.

Иногда, увиденное в клипе заставит вас исступленно рыться в предыдущих материалах, которые выглядели бесполезными, до этой находки. Как будто вы собираете частицы мозаики, и постепенно перед вами вырисовываются очертания картины.

Нет никаких указаний на то, как работать с клипами: их можно сохранять, для того чтобы вернуться к ним позже, или же просто пометить. Это означает, что вы должны собрать её историю у себя в голове, понимая, что, в любой момент, можете оказаться не в том направлении, услышав очередные откровения этой женщины. Все целиком зависит от вашего восприятия. Было ли это в действительности, или это лишь игра вашего воображения?

Когда вы находите видеоматериал, в базе данных закрашивается один квадрат. Зелёные квадраты – просмотренные клипы, красные квадраты – клипы, которые вы еще не нашли. Это даёт вам представление о том, сколько информации вы упускаете из виду, и вынудит вас охотиться за каждым фрагментом. В любой момент игру можно закончить, прокрутить титры, но, даже если все клипы будут раскрыты, вы все равно не сможете дать четкого объяснения всему произошедшему. Ваша собственная версия событий, основанная на выводах, сделанных из истории этой женщины – единственное реальное завершение игры.

Поначалу это не кажется сложным. Вы набираете такие слова как: ‘ALIBI'(АЛИБИ), ‘BODY'(ТЕЛО), и ‘SIMON'(САЙМОН) – имя жертвы. Появляются результаты, и ваша база данных начинает заполняться. Но, чем дальше, тем сложнее. Вы должны творчески подойти к комбинациям слов, и слушать внимательно, дабы не упустить важные моменты: имена, даты, места событий. Во время игры, каждая новая находка вызывала искренний трепет. Я чувствовал себя детективом, который стоит на пороге раскрытия дела. Следом были моменты отчаяния, кликание в случайные слова и мольбы о подсказке.

Интерфейс компьютера является аналогом Windows 95. На рабочем столе можно перетаскивать окна и открывать файлы. Флуоресцентные лампы, отражаясь в стекле монитора, во время мерцания на короткое время показывают голову и плечи человека, сидящего напротив компьютера. Актриса Вайва Сейферт исполнила свою роль просто блестяще. Ей удалось изобразить скрытность, запутанность и реализм. Игра, построенная вокруг одного монитора, обладает фантастическим звуковым сопровождением, которое полностью погружает вас в атмосферу.

Her Story обладает задатками лучшего криминального шоу, но благодаря интерактивной среде, вам доверяют разобраться в этой головоломке по своему, выбрать своё конструктивное, смелое решение. Это не только её история, но так же и ваша. Тема таинственного убийства так же стара, как сама художественная литература, и видеоигры давно уже посвящают этой теме, но ни в одной другой игре я не переживал такого.
