More TV Stories

Welcome… to Jurassic World.

Back in 1993, many audiences entered the cinema unaware that they were about to see something that was unlike anything they’d ever seen before.

Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park was a game-changer and a revolutionary achievement in the realm of visual effects. Since then it has cemented itself as a classic, embedded in popular culture.

Numerous follow-ups have emerged ever since and in 2020 the franchise expanded with Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous, an animated series developed by Zack Stentz.

Boasting an exciting cast, fans have been treated to four seasons now, with the latest debuting on Netflix on Friday, December 3rd 2021.

Inevitably, hopes have turned to Camp Cretaceous season 5, but is it renewed?

Is Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous renewed for season 5?

No, neither Netflix nor the creators have announced that Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous is renewed for a fifth season.

However, this shouldn’t dishearten audiences too much. It’s arguably still a little early to expect any concrete news and there are other reasons to believe that Netflix will go ahead with more episodes.

Looking back at season 3, the finale ended on a cliffhanger and season 4 then arrived in December 2021, just six months – more or less – after season 3 landed on the platform.

Once again, viewers have been left hanging with a cliffhanger, demonstrating that the creators clearly have more stories to tell and plan on doing just that.

Considering the swift turnaround between the previous two seasons, perhaps we’ll see season 5 premiere as early as May 2022 if it is, indeed, renewed.

Tying in with Jurassic World: Dominion

Another reason to suspect more to come is that the creators are somewhat sowing the seeds for the forthcoming Jurassic World blockbuster – Dominion – in the latest season of Camp Cretaceous. Showrunner Scott Kreamer recently told Collider:

“It’s funny because there are certain things that we are setting up here that you’re going to see a nod to in Dominion, and it was pretty cool to be able to work with Colin to seed little things here that they talk about or are referenced in Dominion that happened back in Camp Cretaceous.”

To see that they have been collaborating with the Dominion director furthermore suggests that there’s plenty of hope for the series.

We’re likely to hear renewal news by the end of 2021.
