Perfect World International, often shortened to PWI, is the North American version of the Chinese game named Perfect World 2. It was first released as an Open Beta on September 2nd, 2008. As the game was not reset once the Open Beta ended, this is considered the official release date of the game. Since then there have been several major expansions to the game. In 2011 two European servers were added, but were later merged into one.

In the beginning of time, the first God of the universe, Pan Gu, lived an immortal life. But with no subjects to lord over, Pan Gu grew tired of his solitary existence and decided to decompose his body into five elements-fire, metal, wood, earth, and water. With his divine power, Pan Gu forged these elements into air, land, mountains, rivers, seas, and plant life and laid the foundation for a new world. It was then that Pan Gu made his first attempt to fill this new world with life. From his shadow he formed the first sentient beings. These unnamed creatures were uncivilized, and before long, they began turning on one another and corrupting the world around them. Pan Gu saw that what he had created had become an Imperfect World, and moved quickly to rectify his mistake. He built a floating city known as Heaven’s Tear, and placed within the city the few creatures that had yet to be corrupted. Then, with the power of water and wind, Pan Gu created a massive flood, which swept through the land and destroyed all life in its path.

The world now cleansed, Pan Gu set about creating a new world, one filled with beings who were capable of Spiritual Cultivation. He created three races that possessed the traits he most treasured in himself. The Human race was born of Pan Gu’s spirit, and demonstrated morality, honor, and an unlimited imagination. The race of the Untamed, born of Pan Gu’s body, embodied freedom and peace, and possessed a unique connection with the natural order of the world. And the third race, the Winged Elves, were born of Pan Gu’s own blood, and exemplified beauty, grace, and purity. Between the three races, the Perfect World was created.

The chief quality that Pan Gu gave all three races was free will. He vowed never again to eradicate an entire species, so all conflicts between the races were to be resolved amongst themselves. One such conflict arose between the Humans and Winged Elves when the two races discovered the city of Heaven’s Tear. A war erupted as they fought for control of the great city, bringing out the worst in both races. The Untamed remained neutral, as they were content with living in harmony with the natural world. As the war intensified, and neither side relented, a new threat emerged.

The race that was thought to have been eradicated in the great flood returned in full force. These creatures were not quite living, but not quite dead, and thus came to be known as wraiths. The wraiths appeared to possess a singular objective: to destroy the other races and corrupt the beautiful world around them. Rumors swirled that the wraiths were capable of possessing other living things. Not much is known about the true nature of this evil, but one thing is clear. The three races Human, Untamed, and Winged Elf must set aside their differences and unite to preserve their way of life, halt the spread of corruption, and above all, protect the Perfect World.

PWI Presents: Top 5 Dungeons to run!

We hope you enjoyed all these sneak peeks and teasers when we open the doors to PWI on Steam on April 13th! Now we are going to give you a taste of some things to look forward to with a special top 5 list! Now there will probably be a lot of disagreements and debate, but that’s the cool thing about top 5 lists!

#1 Advanced Endless Universe
The Advanced Endless Universe is located at the top of the Altar of Shades at 478, 580 in Morai, within a square of light beneath a floating pyramid. It is tuned for 8-10 level 105 players.

In order to enter, you must first complete a short questline. The first quest in the series pops up automatically upon entering the Nexus of Luminance, Corona Sanctuary, or Shrouded Temple in Morai, and sends you to speak to the Elder of the Streams. After turning it in, take the quest A Tiny Fib and proceed until you have spoken to Momentor at the Altar of Shades. Completion of either the normal Endless Universe instance or its quest prerequisites are NOT required to start this questline.

Once inside, you can talk to Prophet Zakaresh to get 6 Jade Dragon Orders. This are used to earn additional rewards upon completion, but are not required to progress through the dungeon. You will randomly face one of the first three Emperors, followed by Aurogon, the Dragon Emperor. Though the first three have a variety of other tasks that must be completed to engage and defeat them, Aurogon is a fairly simple, straightforward boss fight.
Successfully completing the challenges in AEU will net you some very useful skillbooks and you may just walk away with a rare flyer!

#2 Twilight Temple
The Twilight Temple is located in the Dragon Wilderness at 131, 669. It has multiple level brackets ranging from 60 to 105, and separate modes for solo play and 4-player groups. Note that the available areas and bosses depend on both the squad size and difficulty (single mode always has fewer bosses).

Upon entering the dungeon, you’ll find three stone pillars flagged as quest givers. Interacting with one will present the option to enter one of the Acts. Upon entering one of the acts, you’ll have to interact with several more pillars to determine the specifications of the dungeon you’ll face. These options include Squad/Single mode, difficulty level, number of bosses, and number of enemies. Each Act and difficulty have their own quests. In order to do any of the squad mode versions, all party members must be in the same location within the instance and be above the minimum level for the selected difficulty.

Successfully completing the Twilight Temple will net you pieces of Twilight Temple Gear as described in one of our earlier sneak peeks. Grab a party and suit up! This one can get tough!

#3 Lunar Glade
The Lunar Glade is located in the sky above Rook Valley. It can be reached by taking to Asparas in Arrowhead Manor, at 427, 457. It is tuned for level 95+ players.

Lunar Glade can be completed in either Single mode, or Squad Mode. Talk to the Lunar Janitor to choose; note, though, that Squad Mode requires at least 2 players and costs 3,000,000 coins.

In Single Mode, talk to Lunar Master: Shui to choose your starting location. You will need an Essence of Nature (item 16545) to start. Where you start will determine which bosses you face.

In Squad Mode, you will start in Humorum Valley. Your path from there depends on which enemies you kill, and will determine the final boss that you face. After defeating each boss, an Attendant will spawn to allow the squad leader to summon a vile version of the boss. This is a more challenging fight, but also drops better loot.

Successfully completing the Lunar Glade will net you pieces of Lunar Gear as described in one of our earlier sneak peeks. Grab a party and suit up! This one can get tough!

#4 Flowsilver Palace
Flowsilver Palace is located at the Dragon Tower in the Primal World. Enter by talking to the Emerald Spellcaster at 325, 532. It requires level 100 and Arcane Sky I to enter. While there is technically no squad requirement, the first room has two switches that must be activated at virtually the same time and thus requires at least two characters to progress.

In order to spawn the Azoth Drake, you must first slay all of the Quicksilver Infants at the Silver Pool.

In order to spawn the Century Golden Toad, you must first slay all of the Treasury Guards in the Treasure Vault and then destroy one of the four toad statues along the walls.

In order to spawn Tyrant Prince Mushi, you must first slay all of the mobs in the Hall of the Fallen Kings, followed by the six fallen kings that will spawn. Be aware that one of the kings is physical immune, so you will not be able to solo it with a class that only has physical attacks (such as the Blademaster).

When you complete Flowsilver Palace, you will be rewarded with items that you can turn in to receive War Avatar Cards, essential items to increase your power!

#5 Warsong City
If you are level 80 or higher, you can fight in the new dungeon, Warsong City.
To get started, speak to the Watcher of Earth in any major city and accept the quest «Visit the Sanctuary.» This quest will lead you to Dancing Melody in Sanctuary, who will send players to Warsong City.

Once inside, speak to Ginring. He is the guardian of Warsong City and will bring you up to speed on the situation within the city.

The evil Incacerate, a great and terrible Wraithlord, was sealed in Warsong City years ago. Now his servants are attempting to free him, which would spell the doom of Perfect World. The only chance is to venture into Warsong City and destroy him before he can escape and gain his full power.

There are three stages to Warsong City. The first is «Raising Warsong.» The second is «Protect the Incarnations.» The third is «Heart of the City.» Speak with Ginring and choose the «Start the Battle for Warsong» option to begin.
The first stage is «Raising Warsong.» In this stage, you must speak with Clearstream, the one who sealed the Incacerate long ago, and aid her and her disciple against the Wraithlord’s minions while she prepares her spells.

The second stage is «Protect the Incarnations.» In this stage, you must split your squad between the five Elemental Pavilions of Warsong City. Each pavilion contains one of Clearstream’s incarnations, who is attempting to remove the Incacerate’s defenses. You must protect these incarnations from the constant Wraith attacks. If an incarnation falls, you will not lose, but the final stage will be harder because of it.

Once the second stage ends, an NPC named Glowing Moon will appear. Speak with him to go to the center of Warsong City and begin the final stage.
The third and final stage is «Heart of the City.» Now reunited, your squad must venture down each of the paths radiating out from the center, back to the Elemental Pavilions, and destroy all five of the Incacerate’s generals: Pestilent Destroyer, Obscure Reaper, Snakefist Guardian, Cannonfist Orclord, and Shadowskull Lich.

Should you manage to defeat all five generals, you will receive a reward based on your success in the second stage. However, in order to fight the Incacerate himself, you must protect all five of Clearstream’s incarnations. Otherwise, you will be unable to face him.

Surviving Warsong City will get you Rank 9 Limitless Moulds and Awoken Level 16 Weapon Moulds that will assist in crafting some of the most powerful gear and weapons in the game!

A quick look at some of the gear and resources needed to get them in PWI

In the world of PWI, power is the name of the game. The stronger you become, the better you fare all around. Today we are going to take a real quick look at some gear and weapons that you can acquire in game!

There are many different gear sets and builds that you will come across in the world of PWI, but in this article we’re just going to take a real quick look at some that will enable you to go toe to toe with some of the stronger players.

Lunar Gear
Lunar Gear are a series of gear pieces found and crafted from the Lunar Glade instance. Many of these pieces can also be purchased from Mysterious Merchants in exchange for Mysterious Chips.

Like much of the other high level gear in PWI, many of these pieces must be crafted. When coming across items for crafting Lunar Armor, Weapons, and Ornaments, you must go to the Lunar Forge located in the Lunar Glade at 355, 548. It will take runs through the glade to be able to acquire the base set of Lunar Gear which is of green quality. These then can be upgraded to Gold quality and further upgraded to Nirvana Gear, which we will touch on later.

Some of the benefits of this gear is once you upgrade lunar gear pieces to Nirvana, and Awoken levels of strength, these pieces become unbound and can be sold in the marketplace to other players for massive amounts of money. Lunar gear also offers better elemental resistance ratings than those found in Twilight Temple.

Twilight Gear
Twilight Gear are similar to Lunar Gear in that the pieces and materials can be found in their instance of origin, Twilight Temple.

Twilight gear, ornaments and weapons can be crafted in the Hall of Choice in the Twilight Temple at 521, 627. Much like Lunar Gear, Twilight Gear is also level 95 and initial pieces acquired are of green quality.

One of the benefits with Twilight Gear is that it is a bit cheaper to come by as there’s a pay gate for in game currency to access the Lunar Glade, unfortunately all Twilight Gear is bound upon equip. Though despite there being an increase in elemental resistances in the Lunar Gear, Twilight Gear tends to have better overall stats in its base form.

Nirvana Gear
There are two branches of Nirvana gear, Lunar and Twilight, each can be forged in their respective instances. Materials for these upgrades can be found by braving the perils of Nirvana Palace. In addition, more popularly players have been acquiring materials from actively participating in Nation Wars, as successful battles tend to yield twice the amount of materials you will find in a run in Nirvana Palace.

Nirvana Lunar Gear

You can forge Nirvana Lunar Gear at the Lunar Armor Forge. This gear is unbound and ready for sale if you so wish. It also has increased elemental resistances and is much stronger than its base Lunar Gear. Quenched Gear can be reforged with the use of two Uncanny Crystals.

Nirvana Twilight Gear

You can forge Nirvana Twilight Gear at the Twilight Armor Forge. This gear is bound tends to have a quicker route to acquired than Lunar Gear and is much stronger than its base Twilight Gear. Quenched Gear can be reforged with the use of two Uncanny Crystals.

Stormbringers are another powerful magic casting class. Due to their reliance on channeling and MP usage, Arcane Armor is really the only viable choice in armor. Make sure to slot Citrine shards to boost their HP. Some people also slot shards that augment their Physical Defense as well since Stormbringers can be on the squishy side.

At a glance
Stormbringers are the only magical casting class that can cast skills when moving. They have a wide variety of skills in their arsenal ranging from direct damage to major stat debuffs. They also have three powerful transcendent skills that they can use to further turn the tide in battle. Stormbringers can also transform into reapers which will increase their speed and physical defense.

PvE
Stormbringers can more than hold their own when setting out in the world of PWI. Because they have the ability to cast spells while in motion, they are able to kite mobs of higher levels and pick them off with ease while suffering relatively low damage.A good set of skills to keep in mind when doing so are using Downburst, Cloudburst and Ice bullet. In addition their Thunderstrike ability is a great and effective AoE that will deal additional damage when encountering enemies with lower HP. Towards the higher levels you will learn the Lunar Shadow skill which essentially allows you to create a mirror image of yourself that has a heal, stun debuff and AoE.

PvP
Stormbringers in PvP can be really nasty with their debuffs and AoE’s. Able to take on multiple enemies at once, a Stormbringer is mostly seen in the back of groups waiting for the tanks to draw most of their fire so they can cast their spells from distance. Their ability to move while casting also allows them to skirt out of damages way when attempting to provide support.

In Territory Wars, The Stormbringer focuses on Crowd control using their water skills to slow their targets, and metal to cast direct damage. In many cases Stormbringers can quickly bring down the ranged casters and then focus their efforts on the Barbarians making them important at catapult prevention.

Saber: Medium to High damage

Armor
Duskblades are pretty versatile in their attacks, however it is recommended to equip light armor as it will increase their dexterity, as they can be a bit on the slow side. They also consume huge amounts of MP, so make sure to slot shards to augment MP and magical damage.

At a glance
The Duskblade is a very interesting breed of melee class, as they can cast powerful AoE’s,, combo their attacks and teleport around the battlefield. Seen as a virtual Jack of all trades and master of none, Duskblades are useful in just about every facet of play.

When transformed into Reaper Form, Duskblades will receive damage reduction and increases in attack speed. Their skill cooldowns also are reduced which will aid in doling out the punishment when the time comes.

PvE
Duskblades can fare in PvE well both solo and in a party. Many of their attacks like Distant Cloud will deal direct damage in addition to stunning their targets. They have many combinations of skills in their arsenal so they make very quick work of mobs as they continue their quests. Their skill Slash of Pride is invaluable for taking on large groups of enemy combatants.

PvP
Crowd control is the name of the game for a Duskblade. Making sure to stun their targets and blinking away to a safe distance will help turn the tides of war. They will fare very well in squads containing tanks and Blademasters as their debuffs compliment the direct damage of tome of the spongier classes.

In Territory Wars, they are very helpful in making Barbarians lose their catapults. Shadow Prey being one of their paramount skills. Their Moon Chant skill will buff all members in their squad for 30 minutes and cannot be purged which is very good support for that critical damage reduction.

Armor
A Seeker’s tendency towards melee style combat make Heavy Armor almost a necessity. They can equip Light Armor as the magic resistance it provides makes it better suited when combating magical classes, but as role of the “Off Tank” a Seeker needs all the defense they can get. Be sure to slot Citrine Shards into their gear to further augment their HP to make them even more powerful.

At a glance
Seekers are a dual sword wielding secondary or ‘off’ tank. Possessing strong ranged attacks and very powerful AoE’s, the Seeker is regularly asked to fill the role of Tank when a Barbarian is not available. This makes them an excellent choice to support teams looking for that additional level of support and protection.

PvE
Seekers are relatively versatile when it comes to PvE. Depending on the way you build your Seeker, you can become a damage dealing death machine or a HP loaded damage sponge. As the damage dealer, Seekers have such power at the early and mid-levels that they can easily defend and destroy 2-3 mobs at a time. Using the Heartseeker skill, a Seeker can immobilize mobs from distance then approach and destroy with slower and stronger skills like Gemini Slash.

Choosing to be a tank, Seekers can take on as many as 5 mobs at a time using their powerful AoE’s to really do some damage. In a pinch their debuffs can add to mob management to round up their foes and take them out with ease using Gemini Slash and Darkcloud Bolt.

PvP
In PvP a Seeker’s advantage is their Edge Blur skill which is a magical attack that is able to most heavy and light armor classes. Combine this skill with Heartseeker or Voidstep and the tide really turns the battle to your favor. The drawback however is a Seeker’s slow lumbering speed so faster classes like the Psychic can add a balance to their slow powerful demeanor.

In Territory Wars, Seekers can team up with Blademasters and use the tried and true “Run and Nuke”tactics to whittle down opposing mobs to prevent enemy movement.

Armor
Wizards commonly use Arcane Armor, but some people add more stats to Dexterity and Strength in order to use Light Armor, until they reach the high levels. Wizards typically use either physical or HP shards depending on which armor they use. Wizards go after armor stats that augment their channeling ability in armor to make their spells much more effective.

At a glance
The hardest hitting magical class, Wizards can harness one of three elements to kill you from a distance. Their slow beginnings may be a bit of a turn off, but once fledgling Wizards make it to mid to late levels, their skills more than make up for the humble beginnings.

PvE
Wizards tend to level quickly because of their high damage output, almost as quickly as the Venomancer class. However, because of their low HP and low physical defense, they tend to die a lot early on because of this, which makes running in a party with someone who can tank a bit more advisable. However, once they get going, look out. These guys will hit har, and wipe out entire groups with their powerful AoE spells.

PvP
In regular PvP, Wizards are at a disadvantage in the early levels. The best thing a Wizard can do early on is team up with a strong melee class companion and team up on stronger foes. Once a Wizard approaches the higher levels, they become a force to be reckoned with with spells that can sometimes one shot other classes!

In Territory Wars, Wizards are far more dangerous, as the large group of people fighting make them harder to find. Theirs is a task to kill the catapult carriers. With their high damage and their AoE’s this is a relatively easy task. Especially since Barbarians are not magical damage defensive in the first place.

Armor
Venomancers can use Heavy Armor or Robe Armor depending on the playstyle due to their versatility. However, their generally low HP make slotting shards that augment you HP levels paramount.

At a glance
Known as the Pet Tamer class, Venomancers are very unique in that they are the only class in the game that can wield Battle Pets. Because of this, many Venomancers usually work alone. However, don’t let that fool you into thinking that a Venomancer isn’t sought after in a Party. Their Debuffs more than hold their own and they have some of the highest damage ratings of any class.

Venomancers also have the ability to transform themselves into a fox. Upon doing so increases their physical defense and accuracy.

PvE
Venomancers usually find themselves questing in PvE alone. This is primarily due to the pets that they have at their disposal. Their pets are able to fill the role of Tank for the Venomancer, so all incoming damage is rerouted to the pet making death a rarity.

PvP
Venomancers are absolutely wicked in PvP; with their pet dealing physical damage and tanking support, and the Venomancer assisting with debuffs and magical damage, fighting a Venomancer is the equivalent of fighting 2 players at once. Skilled players encountering Venomancers in PvP will concentrate their attacks on the Venomancer rather than its pet. Players selecting a Venomancer for the first time should make it a practice to develop good potion and remedy management skills.

In Territory Wars, Venomancers really come in handy. Their Purge skill removes all positive buffs from a target, which sounds kind of useless, but when you square off against a Barbarian, it’s essential since they derive their power from their buffs. Couple this with their Amplify Damage skill which increases a targets received damage by 20% and Barbarians go down easy.

Race
Tideborn

Weapons
Soulsphere: Medium Damage

Armor
Psychics rely on their magical damage, making Arcane Armor the only choice for them. Be sure to slot Citrine Shards into gear to augment their HP

PvE
Psychics tend not to fare very well against groups of multiple attackers in early levels. This however is negligible as the attacks they possess in the beginning hit hard enough that leveling is fairly swift. Using the Soulforce ability, Soulburn, enemies will receive damage equal to your soulforce every time they attack. For attacks that get through while the curse is not active, Life Bubble will regenerate HP. In squads, it is usually preferable to pair Psychics with Wizards for a one two punch of lethal magical damage.

PvP
Psychics are feared in PvP. With Soulburn active, players just cannot touch them otherwise they will die by their own hand. The true reason why players fear a skilled Psychic is because of their powerful debuffs. Their stun spell, Soul of Stunning is the longest stun in the game, locking up players for 14 seconds of uninterrupted death.

In Territory Wars, Psychics go to work repressing enemy skills making even key contributors like the Barbarian useless. They can also make good use of their powerful AoE spells to deal huge amounts of damage to multiple targets. When things begin to look dire, they can cast Life Bubble to heal themselves and nearby teammates.

Winged Elves

In addition, Clerics should also equip magic rings and ornaments that augment their physical defense, as they can stand alone when it comes to magical defense, yet struggle in physical assaults.

At a glance
Essential to any party or squad, the Cleric is one of the most sought after classes in PWI. They possess some of the strongest heals and stat buffs out of any character class, making them formidable not only in a group, but solo as well. They also have the added versatility of magical damage making them a fearsome opponent in any stage of the game.

PvE
Because only Winged Elves can be Clerics, they have the benefit of being able to fly right out of the gate, making world travel easier and less cumbersome. Couple this with their healing and buff skills, Clerics make some of the best PvE players out there, but in a party they truly show off their skill with the strongest party buffs in the game.

Players wishing to fine tune their Clerics as primarily heal and buff machines, should equip a wand for their weapon of choice, as wands augment their heal abilities. Players looking for that combative edge should use a magic sword or glaive.

PvP
Clerics that go on full attack are seen as a bit of an aberration as most Clerics are in the back healing all of the front line attackers. When they do enter the fray, look out! Lots of their attacks come with status debuffs and sleep effects, so they can immobilize entire groups and kill them all with ease. Because of this versatility, Clerics usually make high priority targets on the battlefield.

In Territory Wars, Clerics have one of the toughest jobs, making sure their party is properly buffed and alive while making sure they themselves don’t die in the process. The enemy knows, a party with a Cleric is a dangerous party indeed, so Clerics are usually targeted first.

At a glance
Mystics are a very unique magic casting class in that they can serve both as off-healer and magical damage dealer. Even though they have a strong arsenal of Wood Elemental magic skills, they also have powerful summon skills that allow them to tap into the other magical elements to wield even more power. They also have the ability to summon plants which, depending on the summon spell, can do everything from buffing fellow party members, to dealing massive AoE damage to nearby enemies!

PvE
Mystics are powerhouses both solo and in parties, their heal spells may not be as strong as those of the Cleric, but they can carry the group when there is no Cleric available. In addition, when fighting against weaker mobs, spells like their Devil Chihyu summon will allow them to to serve as an off-tank adding to their already extensive repertoire. The drawback is though their spells may hit hard, it siphons off their MP rapidly, so making sure a Mystic’s MP meter is full at all times is the key.

PvP
Mystics are a huge threat on the battlefield, their attacks are able to wipe out all their enemies in mere seconds! They are weak against physical attacks so using their knockback skill is crucial to turn the tide of war. Their skill, Cragglord deals huge amounts of damage capable of taking out just about any other class with a few hits. Due to their versatility, Mystics can deal direct damage, or hang back and heal the group when a Cleric is not available.

In Territory Wars, the most common usage for the Mystic is catapult management. Their Bramble Tornado skill can push enemy catapult pullers away while their Resurrection buff is essential for bringing your own catapult puller back to life if they go down.

Race
Human

At a glance
The Blademaster is a melee damage class. Always at the front of the battle, Blademasters can hold back a handful of players with their powerful AoE skills. They are the most versatile of all characters in the game. Not only because they have such a wide variety of skills, but also because of their wide variety in weapon choice and stats. Blademasters are the open canvas of PWI to form and build as you choose.

For example, as a Fist Blademaster you might consider using use an axe weapon to take advantage of the extra stun skill that the axe path has. When you have an enemy in retreat, use the axe for stunning, and when the enemy is stunned, you can switch back to fists for the faster damage. This is really easy since you can drag your weapon onto your speedbar for quick and easy switching.

In Territory Wars, the Blademaster serves as the Tank class due to their powerful AoE’s and stuns. Because of this they are usually teamed up with a Cleric to better their chances for survival as more often than not, they are one of the primary targets by enemy squads.

Armor
Assassins are a dexterity based class, therefore, Light Armor is a must. They are able to equip Heavy Armor, however dexterity and not strength determine their damage output, so Heavy Armor will give them a reduction in damage as it will make Assassins less mobile.

At a glance
Assassins are a stealth based melee damage class. They rely on evasion and concealment to sneak up on their enemies and finish them off with hard-hitting attacks that sometimes contain bleed type effects. They are a bit fragile so the element of surprise is almost necessary when taking on enemies in both PvP and PvE.

PvE
Due to the Assassins lack of defense and low HP, starting out in PvE can be arduous, so they will need to use defensive buffs as well as multiple potions and charms to maintain their HP. When taking on mobs of multiple enemies, the genie skill, Earthflame is very useful.

All of this changes once Assassins get to level 89, where the Wolf Emblem skill ups their critical strike rate with their dexterity level. They also benefit from HP recovery with the Bloodpaint skill, couple this with their ability to stealth out of danger, and the Assassin truly shines.

PvP
The terror of the PvP battlefields, their critical hit skills make them one of the most dangerous opponents one on one. However, because of their lack of AoE skills, and low HP, they do not fare well up against a group, so they must rely on deception to get their foes in single combat.

In Territory Wars, Assassins can kill very easily when unnoticed. They should hang back in the group in stealth to pick off their enemies while their attention is on stronger targets like Barbarians.

Пришла очередь второго длинного поста. Так как учебные дни будут ещё только через неделю (а на самом деле, для меня чуть позже, так как сейчас мы на сборах в Петрозаводске, и они заканчиваются после начала учёбы), то есть немного времени о чём-нибудь написать. И напишу я о том, как с российских серверов PW перешёл на международные (PWI), а по факту — американские. Даже если вы не имеете никакого понятия о том, что это вообще за игра, можете попробовать ознакомиться с содержимым по ссылкам и вникнуть в суть дела.

Предпосылки

Начнём с того, что примерно с конца мая я вообще не заходил в игру. Какие игры, когда впереди — страшная сессия, и надо обязательно сдать без троек, чтобы сохранить стипендию! На самом деле, причин того, что я ушёл, намного больше, но я не буду рассказывать их все в деталях (этот пост не называется «Почему я ушёл с руоффа»). Достаточно сказать лишь, что внеигровых причин больше, чем внутриигровых. Ну надоело, и всё. Не вижу смысла продолжать.

И вот — лето проходит, очередная глобальная поездка, потом начинается третий курс. С учётом того, что меня ещё и на индивидуальный план перевели, и надо одновременно со сдачей лабораторных, курсовых и домашних заданий, приходить на контесты и участовать в 12-дневных сборах в МФТИ, ни о каких играх даже речи не идёт. Потом ближе к концу с учёбой стало чуть получше (я думал, наоборот, будет хуже, но разрешить большинство неприятных ситуаций удалось). Всё, впереди только сессия, но по страшности она явно не лучше предыдущей.

Reintroduction

И что же я делаю? Я почему-то внезапно вспоминаю, в одном из диалогов с Алексеем (который из Челябинска и к которому я ездил уже два раза), про то, что PW существует. Ну да, бывает, забываешь вообще, чем раньше занимался. А потом думаю: ну раз уж я туда давно не заходил, то, может, начать на новом сервере? И тут вспоминаю, что есть ещё PWI — международная версия. Но Россия вроде бы там забанена, и регистрация игроков с её территории невозможна. И тут мне сообщают, что имеется аккаунт, который давно не используется, и дата регистрации которого — до даты введения бана. Такие аккаунты использовать можно. Позднее я узнал, что с России бан вроде бы сняли. Но кто знает, надолго ли? Так что я перестраховался и принял предложение о передаче этого аккаунта, который Алексею всё равно был не нужен. Это допускается правилами, потому что, в отличие от правил на российских серверах, в правилах PWI указывается, что «аккаунт можете использовать только вы, но нам пофиг, если это будет нарушаться — вы сами несёте ответственность, если дадите кому-то логин и пароль» (да и кто вообще узнает?). Операция была проведена успешно, я сменил пароль и электронную почту, и аккаунт был готов к использованию.

Сложный выбор

А дальше что? А дальше я начинаю с выбора сервера. В отличие от российских серверов, количество которых — 100500 плюс-минус (то открывают новые, то объединяют), на PWI их ровно 8. При этом:

При этом расположение сервера — это не только пинг, но и разница во времени. Время на востоке США отстаёт от Москвы на целых 11 часов — то есть они находятся почти в противоположной от меня точке. С западом чуть получше — отставание от Москвы на 8 часов. И на европейском сервере отставание от Москвы всего на два часа.

Казалось бы, в чём проблема — вперёд, в Европу! Но тут, к сожалению, не всё так просто. В официальной вики написано, что основные языки на европейском сервере — немецкий и французский. Не уверен, что эти данные достоверны, но вот один факт точно известен — ни первого, ни второго языка я не знаю. Ну, французский когда-то учил в школе как второй иностранный, но поскольку я на нём никогда не говорил, то я его и забыл уже.

Так что выбираю из двух зол меньшее — запад США. Теперь определимся: PVP сервер нужен или PVE? Здесь без вариантов — PVE. Отличаются они наличием кнопки ПК-режима (если он выключен, у нас синий ник — никто не может нас атаковать, и мы никого не можем) — на PVP-серверах он всегда включен, а на PVE можно включать и выключать по желанию (но если включил, то надо подождать 10 часов, пока можно будет выключить). В этом плане у PWI огромное преимущество перед российскими серверами — они все PVP, и в одной из серий ответов на вопросы продюсеру проскакивала информация, что PVE-сервер они никогда не сделают.

Кстати, сервера называются по локациям в игре. PVE-серверов на западе США два — Dreamweaver и Raging Tide. Что выбрать? Тут рандомом — выбираю Dreamweaver.

Персонаж

Первый важный вопрос решён. Теперь второй важный вопрос: за кого играть? Вспоминаю, что в последний раз прокачивал мистика, но не докачал (остановился на 80-м, что ли). Ну раз так, то пусть мистик и будет! При этом одна знакомая делала мне внешность для него (персонаж женского пола) — использую ту же самую, благо файлик остался где-то лежать. Вот и всё! А теперь надо определиться с ником. Фантазии на ники у меня мало, так что он получился довольно банальный. Поскольку это мой восьмой персонаж (если не считать торговцев и других служебных персонажей, не прокачавшихся выше 1-го уровня), то так и назовём — Eighth, т.е. восьмой. Удивительно, что этот ник не был никем занят!

Это всё происходило в конце декабря. А начал я играть чуть позже — 31-го декабря, после первого экзамена. Поскольку перерыв между двумя экзаменами довольно большой (более 10 дней), часть из них можно было отвести на то, чтобы освоиться с игрой.

Да, я, возможно, этого не говорил, но вы, наверное, и так догадываетесь. Конечно же, все там говорят по-английски. Хорошая возможность попрактиковаться, хотя некоторые игроки сами пишут неправильно, хотя для них английский — родной язык. С некоторыми такими я уже встречался.

Ну вот, как только я начал играть, я обнаружил, что в честь выхода обновления с новой расой (которой ещё нет в российской версии) всем дают бесплатный камень для получения 95-го уровня. Вдумайтесь. ВНЕЗАПНО, с 1 до 95. Без какой-либо подготовки. Почти без всего (шмот там какой-то всё-таки дают). На новую расу камень, кстати, не действует, в связи с чем вероятность встретить на квестовых локациях персонажей именно новой расы, стремится к единице.

Я, конечно, этой возможностью пользоваться не стал. Столько времени не играл — засмеют же, если сразу на 95-й перейду! Камень этот не изменяет уровень напрямую, а просто даёт опыт, так что я его взял и положил в банк. Кстати, я получил их две штуки. Дело в том, что вначале их всем выдавали автоматически, но что-то пошло не так, и получили их не все игроки. Поэтому потом выпустили код, который надо вводить в местном аналоге Steam (или, точнее, в аналоге Игрового центра Mail.Ru, хотя на самом деле клиент очень похож именно на Steam), после чего приходит на внутриигровую почту нужный предмет. Мне повезло — автоматическая доставка тоже сработала, в результате чего имею два камня на опыт. 144 миллиона опыта с камня — это вам тут не шутки шутить. С 101-го можно сразу до 102-го подняться.

Ну, в общем, вот так вот весело я начал. Продолжение было чуть менее весёлым, но всё-таки слишком скучно не было.

Квесты…

А потом — выход на общую карту. В связи с вводом новой локации поменяли уровни для большинства квестов и сдвинули мобов по уровню. Когда делаешь какой-то квест, который ты некогда делал на уровне X, а ты сейчас на уровне Y, понимаешь, сколько всего поменяли. При этом оригинальные стартовые локации абсолютно пустые. Ну, там только мобы ходят. Которые вместо 1-10 уровней теперь 20-го и выше.

Я думал, что у меня возникнут проблемы с пониманием местного сленга. Как оказалось — никаких проблем нет. Основной список сокращений, используемый игроками, крайне компактен, и уже через неделю начинаешь понимать практически каждую реплику в мировом чате. Разговаривать тоже легко — во-первых, у меня с английским и так очень неплохо, а во-вторых, набор слов, которые часто используются в игре, не такой большой. В случае чего, впрочем, всегда есть гугл-переводчик, и, к сожалению, всё ещё возникают ситуации, когда мне надо его использовать. Но, в основном, не чтобы понять, что говорят, а чтобы понять, как самому правильно что-то сказать 🙂 Поэтому я по-английски в игре печатаю медленнее, чем по русски — долго думаю. Надеюсь, делу это не помешает.

А про сами квесты… их, по-моему, стало ещё больше. Но это не главное — главное, что для многих из них СУЩЕСТВЕННО повысили награды — например, если раньше опыта давали 130000, то теперь дают 1.3 миллиона. Чисто на квестах, без всяких ежедневок, делаемых лишь с группой, можно прокачаться где-то уровня до 83-го. Тогда как раньше можно было лишь до 65-70, а ещё раньше — вообще до 35-36. Прогресс не стоит на месте. Кто-то считает, что это скучно, и, может быть, так и есть, но мы-то знаем, в чём главная цель — разработчики хотят, чтобы игрок поскорее апнул 100-й, обнаружил, какой у него нубский шмот и пошёл донатить. Вот и 95-е уровни бесплатно раздают, наверное, тоже из-за этого.

Социализация

Завёл также некоторых друзей, поговорил с ними, понял, что с английским у меня действительно беды никакой нет, всё ОК. Иногда запрашиваю у них помощь по каким-нибудь боссам, у меня пока ещё ничего не просили, но если попросят — обязательно помогу, если смогу и если буду в сети.

Также удалось встретить и русскоговорящих игроков. Один из них, как выяснилось, живёт в Самаре и тоже, как и я, учится на программиста. Но на втором курсе. Вообще, есть целый русскоговорящий клан под названием USSR!

Кстати, о кланах. Тот факт, что есть русскоговорящие кланы, для меня совершенно не означает, что я должен вступать именно туда! Хочется ведь новых ощущений, новой обстановки. И я ищу информацию по влиятельным и активным кланам сервера. В первую очередь смотрю на те, которые владеют территориями — то, что они у них есть, не значит, что я хочу участвовать в войнах за них, это просто для меня как индикатор активности клана. Да, большинство кланов, к счастью, не обязывает участвовать в PVP-мероприятиях, но не везде, например, приемлемые для меня условия приёма. Кто-то требует 100+ уровня, кто-то даже первого перерождения. Одним из кланов, владеющих территориями и не имеющих жёстких условий приёма, оказался Kindrid — я, кстати, не знаю, что означает это слово, т.к. его нет в словарях, возможно некое сокращение, возможно этимология от слова kind — добрый. Я сегодня написал туда заявку на вступление, минимум через день узнаю, принимают меня или нет. Если примут, спрошу, что означает это название 🙂

В общем и целом, можно сказать, что обстановка на PWI для меня вполне приемлемая, мне не захотелось сразу убегать и бросать игру. Прогресс не стоит на месте: за месяц я набрал уже 97-й уровень. Конечно же, это было бы невозможно без недавних обновлений с увеличением наград за квесты. Впереди — вопрос вступления в клан, 100-й уровень, а также вопрос финансовый, так как регулярно донатить совсем не хочется — есть много других, более хороших вариантов, на что потратить деньги.

P erfect World International offers 14 classes, grouped in 6 races, and is notoriously known for its extreme character appearance customizations offered. If you’d like your character’s head, or… other parts to be bigger than the rest of the whole body, then welcome to Character Abomination International!

Jokes aside, it’s refreshing to get “big-range” sliders, and PWI’s classes can offer a unique “Asian L2-like” alternative that’s based more on fashion & collectibles, than PvP!

Without further ado, let’s check out each PWI class individually, and hopefully help you decide your main!

Class Description: Summons the spirits of the beast and the plants as aid in combat.

Seeker

Seeker, Perfect World International Class

Class Description: Trains in both sword skills and arcane skills. Enhances swords with the power of Metal element and excellent at melee combat.

Race Description: Trained in elemental powers and physical weapons, this mortal body can even challenge the deities.

Blademaster

Barbarian

Class Description: Possesses tough willpower and physique. High HP and Defense. High Critical Chance and can use Transformation skills.

Venomancer

Class Description: Skilled at using poison. Moves agilely. Trains animals as battle companions. Has long channeling time, so you can take the opportunity.

Раньше для нас игра на ПВИ была своеобразным способом заглянуть в будущее. Причем не в настолько отдаленное, как на китайском сервере, а в более реальное. Здесь мы могли раньше, чем на руоффе познакомиться с новыми расами, с perfect world шаманами, синами, а теперь мистиками и сикерами. Собственно, мы и сейчас можем играть на pwi perfect world, но теперь с одним условием. Условие предельно простое: играть можно, если у вас уже есть акк в пв на международном серве. Если же нету, увы, зарегить сейчас новый вы не сможете, потому что теперь региться на pwi сервере perfect world из России нельзя. Не будем выяснять и обсуждать причины этого – другие игроки на международном серве постоянно жалуются на общение русских на кириллице и на то, что русских персов на начальном респе всегда очень много. Как бы там ни было, факт остается фактом – регить новый акк в пв на ПВИ нельзя.

Зачем играть на ПВИ

Действительно, зачем вообще нам играть на pwi perfect world’а, если у нас есть свои нормальные как официальные, так и пвп сервера, на которых можно играть со своими соотечественниками? Прежде всего, причина в том, что здесь прогресс ушел далеко вперед, по сравнению с руоффом. Если на наших серверах мы все еще учимся играть за perfect world шаманов, то на ПВИ уже давно пора учиться играть за мистиков. Причем совсем необязательно насовсем перебираться на pwi perfect world’а. Вы вполне можете иметь акки в пв как на руоффе, так и на ПВИ. Именно благодаря международному серву, игроки смогли заранее изучить, каким может быть perfect world шаман в пвп, какими скиллами он владеет, какой билд лучше выбрать для него. Одним словом, так можно заранее составить гайды, чтобы игрокам, которые не успели зарегить акки на ПВИ в пв, было легче начинать играть за персонажей новых рас.

Помимо всего этого, на ПВИ вообще многое по-другому. Например, на тарелке в ГД днем по московскому времени нет толп народу, как у нас на руоффе, так что можно не спеша собрать пати на ежу. Прокачать персонажа и собрать ему ранговую пуху здесь намного легче, чем у нас, ведь нашивки стоят в разы дешевле. Поэтому в perfect world на ПВИ наш шаман будет одет получше, чем на руоффе при одинаковых затратах. Ну а заработать в пв на ПВИ, используя привычные нам способы, тоже будет проще. Например, на международном серве стоит куча котов с ресами около кузнеца на западе ГД, а вот около портного зачастую ни души. Сами понимаете, те же ресы для крафта расходятся около портного по двойной цене!

Perfect World International

Perfect World International is a free-to-play MMORPG based on the Chinese mythology. The fabulous visuals support the refined gameplay, immersing players in a huge game world. Featuring millions of registered users and several expansion packs, this is one of the most played free MMO games to date.

The character creation interface is one of the most in-depth ever in a free MMO game. Recreate your look or design a hero based on whoever you wish. The three races are very unique, allowing for different game mechanics. The classes offer even more possibilities, so that each player chooses his/her style of playing. A detailed mount system offers a large selection, including flying mounts and the ability to transport other players. This game is like a hamster wheel, taking years, doing the same quests over and over to raise the levels of all your skills, boundaries and equipment. The alternative is to sink thousands upon thousands of dollars into the game to buy the more elite gear and items to level more quickly. It is no surprise that items to allow individuals to automatically level their character are made available at a very high cost. It is 100% Pay2Win.

It has a very elitist culture. With PWE constantly removing the ability for individuals to be able to get squads, due to inferior equipment, they make it more difficult for struggling players by removing items from being able to be earned from a solo endeavour making it very difficult to progress in this game. Other players constantly ask that you show your weapon before granting you an invitation to a squad.
Items that were previously able to be earned through tasks in game are removed and put into the cash shop on a regular basis. This can make it difficult or more likely impossible to be able to improve your gear or abilities without paying real world money, when coming late to the game, due to established players having been able to acquire it more easily.

The company has been mismanaging its games for many years now. This has been reflected in the great many lay offs of employees in the company, the rapid decline in its share prices and the closing of many of its divisions. Servers have been merged many times over the years, with only one quarter of the servers remaining now, due to only having one eighth of the population they once had. It is estimated that many of the games that PWE support won’t last more than 2 to 3 years, so investing time or money in their games would be a complete waste.

I have played this game for 9 years and have seen it go from being one of the greatest MMO’s to the mess that it is now. I more than anyone would love to see someone come on board with the courage to do what is necessary to turn this game around. I had many family and friends that used to play this game, that have all quit and never anticipate returning. Although I loved playing this game, even I can’t encourage others to play this game with a clear conscience.

Don’t be mislead by individuals that lie and tell you that elite gear can be easily obtained for free, they have an ulterior motive. The population of this game is dying at an incredible rate and those that have spent countless hours and thousands of dollars will do anything to keep it alive, even trying to encourage others to join by feeding them lies about how simple it is to not spend money and achieve high level gear and abilities. Unless your idea of a great weekend is being constantly one shot by these individuals, I would highly advise trying another game. Unfortunately greed and selfishness dominate this game.

Other games that won’t have your bank manager calling you in a hysteric and allow you to compete on a more even playing field more quickly would be «Tera» or «Elder Scrolls Online».

As far as the game goes:
It is OUTDATED. EVEN if you have an AWESOME PC setup, you will LAG. The game engine is outdated, which is why the above happens.

There are countless BUGS from the time that I played that are STILL THERE.

PVE is VERY dull. You will get bored after levels 70-100. Anyone that STILL plays this that says anything positive is likely getting paid, addicted or simply too blind to see that they are addicted to this stupid low class game.

Hell, a convicted child molested played this game ON THE SAME SERVER AS MY CHARACTER FOR NEARLY 3-4 YEARS BEFORE GETTING CAUGHT, VIA A PROXY. Why? Because he was called out for engaging in cyber messaging with a minor.

IN ALL:
Do NOT play this game. Guys there are a BUNCH of other games that are WAY better than this shit. Hell, there are BROWSER MMO RPGS THAT LOOK BETTER THAN THIS SHIT.

This game is total garbage. I cannot wait until this cash cow stops breathing.

1) первое что мы делаем, это заходим на сайт http://webmail.aol.com/ и создайте учетную запись электронной почты AOL.

2) вводим свои данные для создания электронной почты на этом сайте

ВАЖНО:
а) Не используйте перенаправление URL, только оригинальный сайт и английский язык, строго. Просто используйте ссылку указанную выше.
б) В качестве почтового индекса Zip используйте 98009.

ПОЧТОВЫЙ ЯЩИК\КОД других АМЕРИКАНСКИХ ГОРОДОВ:

Вашингтон-20001/можно 20011. Нью Йорк-10011 Бруклин-11205/11206 Новый Орлеан-70123 Бевери Хилс-90210/90211 Лос Анжелес-90001/90011 Aлбен-60001 Арвара-80001 и тд.

3) Зарегестрировавшись, на главной странице выбираем раздел СЕРВИС, пункт ЗАГРУЗКИ

A Beginner’s Guide to Perfect World

Hello new adventurer! Looking to start a new journey in the land of Perfect World? Well then, this guide has been created just for you. We’ll be covering the basics of Perfect World and how to begin your adventures.

Creating A New Character
In Perfect World, there are 5 main races that inhabit the land, each with two distinct classes. After logging in, simply choose «create a character» to get started!

Humans have been on the land since the beginning along with the Untamed and Winged Elves. Many wars were fought between these three races, in which humans became known for their battle prowess with a wide variety of weapons, as well as their ability to harness the power of water, fire, and earth. They can train to be Blademasters or Wizards, choosing to either be the melee physical damager dealer or a magical ranged area of effect nuker.

Untamed are a feral race of evolved animals with a humanoid appearance. The males of the race retained their barbaric animal nature, aptly named Barbarians, allowing them to be an unstoppable force on the battlefield. The females of the race honed their control of magic while also increasing their harmonious relationship with nature, allowing their Venomancers to be adept at training wild animals in addition to casting (and purging) debilitating magic.

Winged Elves are the only race in perfect world that start the game with the ability to fly! These demi-gods have the best qualities of mortals and gods, allowing them to excel in highly dexterous skills such as archery, while also having an innately strong talent for magic. The would-be adventurers of this race either choose to become Archers or to help empower their allies as Clerics through healing skills using the power of wind, thunder, and lightning.

Tideborn are relatively new to the land of Perfect World, having come from the sea itself to settle on the southeastern most island of Perfect World. Well known for their mastery of illusion and deception, a tideborn may choose to be an Assassin, allowing them to excel greatly in surprise burst attacks from literally out of the shadows. Alternatively, a tideborn may choose to be a Psychic, harnessing the power of the waves with magical skills that slowly whittle down their opponent, similar ocean waves on rock, or they may rejuvenate their allies; flowing between offense & defense smoothly.

Earthguard are a race born from the very earth itself, having only just recently awoken from their slumber. They are a race of defenders, only called on when the land is in dire trouble and in need of their pure soul’s power. A Seeker is a two-handed or dual wielding earthguard class that strives to strike a balance between the arcane and martial arts as they utilize both metal elemental spells and physical melee attacks. Mystics are master casters of nature’s lifeforce, able to cast enhancements, resurrect others, and summon plants & powerful creatures to aid them in battle.

Character Customization
Perfect World International has one of the most robust character customization options you’ll find in any online game. You can choose a preset to quickly get in-game to play or work as a base to modify. With a whole host of sliders to customize anything from eyebrow depth to leg or arm size, you can spend quite a long time just perfectly creating the character you want the most.

That last one is a bit extreme, but it shows just how far you can push the parameters of PWI’s character customization!

Starting Off
After creating a new character, you’ll be entered into the starting zone, Astral Domain. You’ll see in the top right a large question mark button. Click this button to open up a series of helpful windows and guides. Sheomay, the PWI guide, will help you on your journey with useful tips and instructions. Simply click the arrow «review» button on her window to go through her lessons or bring her up with the I key and use her to identify aspects of the UI for you.

If you ever need Sheomay’s help or simply want to learn more about the game,
the encyclopedia is just for you!

Upon entering the Astral Domain, you’ll be introduced to the world and asked to talk to key non-player characters of the land. Perfect World International makes this simple and stress free with it’s auto-pathing system. All you need to do is click the NPC name on the Quest Tracker window to be taken straight to them!

Talking to NPCs in Perfect World is simple. Just click on them to first bring up their dialogue window. At the bottom of the window you will see quest options if they have a colored flag over their head. An example is below.

Remember, once you finish a quest with them, make sure to talk to them again for the next part in the quest chain!

Using the Action Bar
In the Astral Domain, you’ll be given an item that allows you to use 4 higher level skills for your class temporarily. This gives you a little taste of the power to come. To slot new skills onto your action bar, hit the R key, to bring up the Skill List.

If you take a look at your Action Bar at the bottom (1-9), you will notice you already have actions slotted into it. The first slot is the basic attack icon while the second and third are class skills. To slot new active skills into the Action Bar, simply drag and drop a skill icon on to the slot of your choice.

That is all you need to do. Mousing over any skill icon will create a tooltip window detailing the skill. Now passive skills cannot be slotted as they are always in effect.

«Combo Skills» are custom made skill macros that goes from one skill to another in a chain. Clicking «new» will allow you to make a combo skill. «Skill Tree» shows your class’ skills and their requirements.

Equipping Gear
To be able to fend for yourself in Perfect World, you’ll need to make sure you are properly equipped with gear. To do so, all you need to do is open up the Inventory Window (B) and right click on a weapon, armor piece, charm, wing, etc to equip it! Be careful with items that are bind on equip, as once an item is bound to you, it will be difficult to impossible to unbind it. A bound item cannot be traded or auctioned.

Exploring Perfect World
Quests in Perfect World are numerous and will take you on grand adventures throughout the expanse of the land. Once you finish the starting zone, you’ll be put into Perfect World to begin your adventure. Hit Q to bring up the Quest Window to see what you currently need to complete.

As you can see, there is auto-pathing text inside the quest window just like the quest tracker window. This text is generally green unless in the tracker window. Inside the Quest Window, you will be able to view the details of the quest, the quest giver, the awarder’s location, and the reward itself.

After a certain time, however, you’ll be exploring all over the land so much that you might not know what to do next. If this ever happens, all you need to do is select the «Available Quests» tab on the Quest Window to see what is available to you. As you level up, you will be surprised at how much is just waiting for you to dive into and explore!

Wraith Types and the Elements
As you carry out quests and take down wraiths (monsters), you’ll notice your attacks doing varying damage to different monsters of the same level. This is because of the element system in Perfect World. Each wraith in the world has a different element type which responds differently when attacked based on the attack’s elemental properties.

Metal : weak against Fire
Wood : weak against Metal
Fire : weak against Water
Water : weak against Earth
Earth : weak against Wood
Non-Elemental : neutral

This can decide many battles, especially for casters as they rely heavily on powerful ranged elemental attacks. Players may increase their resistances to certain elements, reducing the damage they take from that element’s attack whether it be from a wraith or player.

Leveling Up
As you kill wraiths, complete quests, use special items, etc. you’ll find yourself gaining more and more: experience, coins, and spirit. You will also gain more character attribute points, 5 per level, to be distributed amongst the 4 main attributes of PWI. Each class can be said to benefit from specific attributes based on their design, however, even within this there is room for customization towards your own preferences of play. There are items in the PW Boutique that can reset your points, allowing you to optimize your build as you master your class.

Vitality (VIT): Governs health points and health recovery rate, as well as physical & magical defenses.
Strength (STR): Governs physical attack, physical defense, and is the requirement for all three types of armor (Arcane. Light, Heavy)
Magic (MAG): Governs mana points, magic attack, magical defenses, mana recovery rate, and is a req. for arcane armor.
Dexterity (DEX): Affects accuracy for physical attacks, critical strike rate, evasion, and is the source of missile/dagger attack damage for archers and assassins, respectively. It is also a requirement for heavy and light armor, especially light armor.

Other than assigning attribute points, you will want to learning skills to make use of all that coin and spirit. Both spirit and coin are needed to train each skill, as pictured below, and to also upgrade the level of a skill too.

For the most part, spirit can only be obtained from finishing quests and killing wraiths, actions that also give you experience points. This means that as you level, you won’t be able to learn every single skill available to you for your level. Deciding on the path your character is going to take skill-wise will be the defining feature of your character for many levels to come.

Spiritual Cultivation
Another aspect to your character’s growth is called Spiritual Cultivation. As you explore, you will need to cultivate your spirit towards understanding all truth and your place in the universe. Everyone starts off as spiritual initiates and can choose to begin on their path towards being either a Sage or Demon at Lv9. Every ten levels, a new quest chain will become available to progress.

Once completed, anytime between Lv80-105 (max), new skills become available as well as modifications to existing skills based on the path chosen. There are many steps towards that end result, and some skills may require you to be at a certain stage of spiritual development before they can be learned or upgraded.

Perfect World Boutique
Last on the list of basic things to know is the ever useful and updating Perfect World Boutique! Push the O key to bring it up starting on the «New» tab of the shop page. This boutique is updated weekly with special deals on a wide variety of items such as fashion clothing and fashion weapons. You can also find a bunch of utlity items such as the Geographic Map which gives you every teleport location (every town has one), inventory expansion stones which expand your inventory, or charms that restores mana or health as it hits a certain threshold.

To purchase items, you will need to transfer or charge ZEN into your Perfect World server. One dollar equals 100 ZEN which equals 1 gold in-game. At the auction house, players may trade gold for coins, allowing the acquisition of gold without spending a single dollar.

The tab to the right of «Shop» is «Events» which takes you to the Event Boutique. This boutique works off of event gold and silver, which can be obtained from events, giveaways, and promotions. This boutique carries less items, but still has great value as event gold can only be acquired in-game. Using this boutique, you can pick up some useful items as well as flyers and mounts too.

That does it for learning the basics of Perfect World International. However, this game is no newcomer and has been built up to become quite a heavy hitter when it comes to features and depth.

Leveling

There are two things all new players to Perfect World should know: characters level much faster with quests than by killing Wraiths, and, part of a complete character’s development since the advent of the Rebirth system, is to begin again the whole leveling task a second and third time. The quests are not available more than once, except for blue-labeled repeatable quests. Therefore, players may prefer to leave some quests for later incarnations, to speed up their progress later. There is more XP available from quests, at early levels, than is required to level. At later levels, the repeatable quests can fulfill this function. There is a drawback to this approach, though, which is that the player will have to be exceedingly careful which skills they raise and which they leave, as there is not nearly enough Spirit for all of them.

Questing is made much easier than in earlier-generation games with the ingame quest list; both questing and the game in general is made easier with the extensive database of Items (Weapons, Armors, Accessories, Potions, Materials, Charms, Genies), Monsters, NPCs, and Quests, all of which entries link to each other, almost always, where applicable.

The addition of more quests and reduction of kill numbers on quests, and the addition of an entirely new set of level 1-20 quests in Celestial Vale has made leveling much easier than in the past. It was a year after release before the first level 105 character was reported, [1] and this was also due to the huge number of Wraiths that were required for each quest; remnants of this system can be found in uncorrected dialogue, that calls for 70 kills or even more in some cases.

Perfect World’s economic model is, roughly speaking, as much or more, pay to style, than it is pay to win. Fashion, Mounts, and utility items are a large part of its income; although much of the upgrade content can be bought, most players grind it. Its endgame content is mostly, grind to win. New content is brought out often, with small gains to player stats that are significant enough that they must be addressed by players or they lose their edge.

While real-life money expenditure is not essential, in-game currency is of the highest importance to a character’s development, and Jolly Old Jones quests may be considered a standard task for saving up for the gear needed at higher levels

While many quests are Level-capped Quests, Rebirth after level 100 offers an opportunity to do quests that were missed the first time. Without so many quests to level with, Rebirthed characters commonly pick another avenue such as Phoenix Valley, and may ask or even pay other players to take them through it.

Beginner Level

Gaining levels 2-19 in Celestial Vale is aided by free Bonus XP items from the Old Donkey Rider, Lost Star Spirit, and Soldier on Patrol. Levels 20 and onwards are aided by the Perfect Questmaster Lucidsilver Agent, the Lucidsilver Envoy and Lucidgold Envoy, with diminishing returns as the 5,000 XP rewards shrink in comparison to XP required to level.

Because XP is gained at higher rate than Spirit, and spirit is required for skills, there is a tendency for skills to fall behind the player level. Optionally, for Efficient leveling, player Genies use player XP to level, freeing up more spirit for skills. The alternative approach is to be very stingy with Spirit, and leave behind quests for Rebirth.

Because the XP gained by genies is greater per point of player XP spent, the closer the character is to the genie, the free Genie from the Watcher of the Earth is best taken early; there is one right across from where the character very first starts their journey in Celestial Vale.

Although the starting armor and Minister armor and weapons are given as part of the main quest line, the Duke and Royal must be sought out. Four pieces’ quests can be soloed (including the Accessory), but the Royal weapon and Royal leg armor will require, at the very least, an optimum squad, and probably high level help. After this, beginning players are on their own, with only the Auction House for good gear, and Jolly Old Jones to help pay for it.

Levels 20 and onwards are aided by the Lucidsilver Envoy and Lucidgold Envoy, with diminishing returns as the 5,000 XP rewards shrink in comparison to XP required to level.

Intermediate Level

Anytime after level 30, the Realm of Reflection can be an aid to leveling, allowing characters to gain XP as the player sleeps.

At levels 30-39, we see the infamous level 60 cap begin, although at this point it is as much as thirty levels away

The new Bounty Hunter in EU, and Phoenix Valley are popular leveling spots after 70 when the number of quest diminishes sharply and players are forced to use squad tactics to kill a large number of monsters for XP in the usual way

Thereafter, the Realm of Reflection is an important aid to leveling, allowing characters to gain XP as the player sleeps. Note that at early levels, the aids and the quests work at cross purposes, as most quests have an upper level limit; the quest giver NPCs will no longer be flagged and the quest cannot be acquired, after a certain level. The player can choose to simply leave quests behind, to get better XP from quests and Realm of Reflection etc at higher levels, or save the Fantasy Fruit Bag XP items for use after all quests are complete.

Advanced Level

Bounty Hunter quests become available at level 40. Bounty Hunter becomes vital to reach Expert Level, but there is no reason to not start earlier if characters concentrate on only Level-capped Quests and save for later, quests they can complete at any time.

Expert Level

Leveling and Quests

At very early levels, quests are almost always confined to a level range, and thus must be completed within those levels or be done on second and third incarnations or lost forever. One way, then, is to carefully complete all quests available; the other is to leave some for Rebirth. When players complete these in conjunction with Phoenix Valley or Bounty Hunter XP, they may accrue enough to use up extra EXP on their Genies. However, if the player consults the list of Level-capped Quests or the Database lists of quests by level, they may avoid quests that can be completed later, when the XP is harder to get, the player is stronger and better equipped, and the monsters and quests are easier in comparison.

At levels 50-59, the list is littered with a number of ten- and fifteen-level quests, although the bulk of the quests with a level 60 cap is earlier. The cap is clearly visible with odd eight-level caps such as for the island of Misfortune quests A Tooth for a Tooth and Family in Danger

Other than the ten-level Challenge quest Lord of Abominations (tip-get Underground Crisis at the same time), the heat is off considerably at levels 60-69, with most quests being twenty, thirty, or no cap at all.

The Elder of Dreamweaver Port has a few ten-level quests at levels 70-79, but this is by and large the exception.

Thereafter, from 90 to 105, the vast majority of quests have at least ten levels to complete, and this factor is the least of one’s concerns

Но вступив в русскоязычный клан, вы можете не беспокоиться, что привычный для вас язык кто-либо не поймет. Однако… тут вас ждет неприятный сюрприз.

Как активировать ARC-код на PWI

Привет.

Как активировать ARC-коды необходимо знать с первых же дней игры на PWI.

«Почему?» — спросите вы.

Все очень просто. На PWI доступны два мешочка (блессинги), один из которых повышает атаку персонажа, а второй повышает и атаку (в два раза меньше, чем первый) и защиту. Надевать можно только один, но никто не мешает менять один на второй и обратно в зависимости от ситуации.

Без блессингов бегают только нупы или ленивые люди. Но это не про тебя, правда? Поэтому с первых же дней игры на PWI берем блессинги, которые упростят существование в Идеальном мире.

Но чтобы их получить, необходимо активировать ARC-коды.

Итак, как это делается. Есть два способа.

Untamed Barbarians are strong and often serve as the front-line defenders on the battlefield. They mainly rely on their brute strength during attacks.

Blademaster

Human Blademasters are close combat warriors who are potent with or without weapons. They are swift, agile, and quick to attack and evade assailants.

Cleric

Winged Elf Clerics can heal, curse, and can call on the elements of lightning and wind to do their bidding. They can even raise fallen comrades in battle. Compared with Clerics in other games, PWI clerics are powerful spellcasters. Their ability to solo is perfect for a game where, moreso even than other MMOs, players do not team regularly until higher levels.

Duskblade

Duskblades are similar to Assassins; although their survivability in PvP combat can be superior to that of Assassins, their damage output is reputed to be lesser, and they are understood by some to be more PvE focused.

Mystic

Earthguard Mystics Mystics have pets like Venomancers, but their pets are summoned, not found and tamed. They have a resurrection spell that is a crucial adjunct to that of Clerics, which can be cast BEFORE death, potentially prevent team wipeouts altogether; they also can heal somewhat.

Psychic

Tideborn Psychics are mostly a spellcaster class, with the ability to heal. They can adjust their damage output and defense, raising one a lot and lowering the other a little, as is tactically most desirable. They use Earth and Water magic.

Seeker

Earthguard Seekers’ Heavy Armor enables them to function as light tanks; while of course Barbarians are far superior at the task of dealing with lots of physical damage, Seekers’ speciality is to able to either melee or cast Metal- based spells, including AoE spells.

Stormbringer

A caster of Water and Metal magic, they can cast some of their spells while moving

Venomancer

Untamed Venomancers are very adept in using poison, and can tame animals to fight with them. Each pet that is tamed has its own attributes and skills that can be used in combat. Their spells use mainly the power of the Wood element.

Human Wizards are hot tempered but warm hearted masters of the conjuring arts. They can utilize the elements of water, fire, and earth to their advantage.

News Releases [ ]

The expansion was first mentioned through a news post on June 25th, 2018, which notified players of some of the upcoming changes coming to the game. [1] These changes would involve adjustments in item rewards affecting Flowsilver Palace Judgment Mode and Icebound Underworld, along with adjustments made to grades of shards. No other information on the expansion was provided.

A teaser trailer was uploaded to the PWIGame YouTube Channel on July 2nd, 2018. The trailer showed upcoming areas in the Western Steppes, along with a brief look at some of the graphics updates coming to the game. The name of the expansion was not announced however the release date was set for Fall 2018.

The first spotlight for the expansion came on July 29th, 2018. [2] This spotlight revealed a refining system for Tomes; this system would be separate from regular equipment refining and involved a mostly different set of items which can only be purchased through the Boutique. A chance to upgrading lower-leveled Tomes which involves decomposing them for an item to use for crafting. These changes would affect level 1 to 5 Tomes.

The third spotlight was unveiled on August 12th, 2018. [4] A new area to the north in the Western Steppes was revealed, with several images of the areas shown. A new Boundary, Royal Sky, was also revealed. The post also made mentions of new Historical Phases and new quests.

The fifth spotlight was posted on August 26th, 2018. [7] The spotlight announced a new NPC, the Mysterious Merchant (not to be confused with the Mysterious Merchant that exchanges Mysterious Chips). This merchant has a 70% chance to appear when completing Uncharted Paradise in Deicide Mode, or when completing Dawnlight Halls on either Judgment Mode or Deicide Mode. The merchant offers items such as Glyph Packs and materials for Dragonbreath Weapons, purchasable either using coins or gold. There is also a limit to how many of each item can be bought.

The sixth and final feature spotlight was unveiled on August 29th, 2018. [8] An advanced engraving option was revealed which uses Spirit Chisels, a new item seemingly obtainable via the Treasure System. No details on the name of the expansion nor its release date were revealed in this feature spotlight, or in previous feature spotlights.

The name of the expansion, Redemption, along with its official logo was revealed on PWI’s Facebook page on September 12th, 2018. [9] The release date was also announced to be the following week on September 19th, 2018.

January 2019 Content Update [ ]

The January 2019 Content Update is a content update for PWI Redemption. It had no official announcement, and was officially released on January 9th, 2019. Some features added to the game with the update include a new Twilight Temple dungeon named Twilight Temple Revisited, Twilight Warsoul Gear, Twilight Souls which can be imbued into Twilight Warsoul Gear, and the Warsoul Repository which saves set bonuses from equipment such as Rank 9 (Fourth Cast) to use in place of other set bonuses.

There were no news releases prior to this content update.

21 мая 2008 года был запущен первый игровой сервер – Орион. Тысячи героев, отринув страх, отправились исследовать новый мир.

6 июня 2008 года пользователям стал доступен игровой магазин. С тех пор в него было добавлено множество предметов, а цены удерживались на максимально низком уровне наперекор инфляции.

11 июля 2008 года был открыт сервер Вега – второй по счету игровой мир. Жители Ориона, число которых к тому времени превысило все разумные пределы, вздохнули с облегчением. Существенная часть населения решила начать все с чистого листа и переехать на Вегу.

3 сентября 2008 года, когда Орион и Вега уже не справлялись с потоком новичков, стремящихся поселиться в Идеальном Мире, администрация игры запустила третий сервер – Сириус.

Даже три полноценных сервера не могли справиться с непрекращающимся наплывом игроков. Тогда было решено запустить сразу несколько новых игровых миров практически подряд.

12 ноября 2008 года был запущен сервер Мира.

23 декабря 2008 года открылся Таразед.

13 января 2009 года стал доступен игровой мир Альтаир.

30 марта 2009 года сервер Процион распахнул свои двери для всех героев.

Осень 2009 года принесла нам еще два новых игровых мира. Серверы Астра и Пегас были запущены 30 сентября и 20 октября соответственно.

4 февраля 2010 года вышло второе дополнение – «Эпоха Джиннов». С тех пор каждый игрок мог рассчитывать на помощь крохотных, но могущественных духов. Сейчас уже сложно представить Идеальный Мир без этих мистических существ.

6 апреля 2010 года был запущен десятый по счету сервер – Антарес.

Третье глобальное обновление – «Легенды Морей» было установлено на серверы игры 3 сентября 2010 года. В Идеальном Мире появилось более двухсот новых заданий, обширные новые территории и даже полноценная новая раса – амфибии, представленные шаманами и убийцами.

19 ноября 2010 года список серверов расширился в очередной раз. Был запущен сервер Адара.

15 апреля 2011 года появился сервер Феникс. В древнем Китае считалось, что появление феникса — знамение великих событий и подвигов. И правда, ведь у новых героев впереди много свершений!

20 октября 2011 года на серверы игры установлено дополнение «Генезис». В стройные ряды героев вступили представители новой расы – древние. Бесстрашные стражи и могущественные мистики сразу же нашли свою нишу и полюбились тысячам игроков.

2 ноября 2011 года открылся сервер Лира, тринадцатый по счету.

19 января 2012 года был запущен сервер Эридан. Новый мир был очень быстро освоен как опытными игроками, так и начинающими.

24 апреля 2012 года Идеальный Мир вновь преобразился. Было выпущено дополнение «Земли Духов», сюжетная линия которого отправляла героев в загадочное царство духов – Морай.

3 октября 2012 года на серверы игры было установлено последнее на данный момент глобальное обновление «Гнев Империи». Для самых молодых героев открылась локация Мир Грез, где стало возможным развивать персонажа, не прилагая к этому абсолютно никаких усилий. А для опытных воинов были запущены еженедельные фракционные битвы в землях духов.

25 октября 2012 года в списке серверов появился долгожданный пятнадцатый мир – Омега. Имя нового сервера было выбрано самими игроками.

7 февраля 2013 года. было установлено глобальное обновление «Возрождение династий». Жители Идеального Мира познали тайны глубокой медитации, совершили свои первые покупки на Ярмарке, и самое главное — приняли участие в первой Битве династий!

18 апреля 2013 года произошло первое в истории Идеального Мира объединение серверов. Два мира, «Эридан» и «Лира», слились воедино и образовали новый мир, название которому — «Лиридан». Чтобы не нарушать традицию, администрация игры зарегистрировала звезду с названием «Лиридан» в астрономическом звездном каталоге.

16 сентября 2013 года вышло обновление «На перекрестке миров»! Битва династий стала первым межсерверным PvP-событием в Perfect World, появилось подземелье «Драконье убежище», все жители Идеального мира смогли попробовать открыть чакры благодаря Каналам души, а друиды познакомились с новой системой боевых питомцев.

10 октября 2013 года пятнадцатый сервер «Андромеда» распахнул свои двери для всех завоевателей!

31 октября 2013 года произошло знаменательное событие для жителей «Адары» и «Феникса». Два сервера слились воедино и образовали новый мир, имя которому — «Кассиопея».

11 марта 2014 года был запущен сервер «Персей».

16 апреля 2014 года состоялось очередное объединение серверов. На этот раз благодаря слиянию «Астры» и «Проциона» на небосклоне Идеального Мира появился «Гелиос».

25 июня 2014 года в Perfect World началась новая эпоха! Глобальное обновление «Перерождение» изменило жизни всех обитателей мира Пань Гу. Сейчас уже тяжело представить игровую вселенную без Мира людей, магических карт, Серебряной цитадели и Храма стихий.

29 декабря 2014 года в преддверии новогодних праздников все игроки Perfect World смогли окунуться в сказочную зимнюю атмосферу, на серверы игры установлено обновление «Замерзшие земли»! Новые локации, «Битва за ресурсы», система очков активности — все это и многое другое сделало игру еще интереснее!

2 июня 2015 года благодаря объединению «Пегаса» и «Антареса» появился сервер «Атлас».

8 июня 2015 года на земли Пань Гу ступили представители новой расы Теней! Помимо призраков и жнецов, обновление «Дыхание тьмы» принесло нам новое подземелье «Мираж». В этот же день был открыт новый сервер «Луна».

8 декабря 2015 года было установлено обновление «Тайны глубин». Жители Идеального мира отправились в прекрасную подводную локацию, сразились с безумной супругой Тирана в Серебряной цитадели и заполучили собственные Звездные диски.

16 марта 2016 года было установлено глобальное обновление «Кровавая битва». Жителям Идеального мира стали доступны межсерверные сражения гильдий, загадочная Башня Будды, VIP-система и многое другое!

16 июня 2016 года в Идеальном Мире появились система домостроительства, подземелье «Море иллюзий» и Арена Героев!

3 октября 2016 года со второй попытки состоялось объединение сразу трех серверов — «Омеги», «Персея» и «Андромеды». Страшное пророчество о том, что «Гидры» не будет, не сбылось.

7 ноября 2016 года было установлено обновление «Звери Элизиума». Более сложная версия инстанса «Море иллюзий», битва домашних зверей и новая часть истории Мира людей сделали жизнь обитателей Идеального мира еще интереснее.

29 декабря 2016 года все желающие смогли отправиться играть на новый сервер «Лисичка».

18 января 2017 года стали доступны новые исторические этапы сюжета игры.

25 мая 2017 года в Идеальном Мире произошли грандиозные перемены! Таинственный Нерушимый город, полное опасностей подземелье «Дворец Рассвета», великие умения и рыцарские руны, новые ступени совершенствования и легендарная Арена Авроры стали доступны после установки глобального обновления «Западные земли»!

5 сентября 2017 года в Западных землях появился новый мировой босс — Темный герцог Хитклифф, а еще был изменен графический движок игры.

19 октября 2017 года состоялось слияние «Таразеда», «Альтаира» и «Лиридана». Обитатели этих серверов продолжают свои приключения в Идеальном Мире на объединенном сервере «Дракон».

27 декабря 2017 года было установлено зимнее обновление. Игрокам стало доступно событие «Дух приключений», калькулятор персонажа, множественные изменения подземелий, даосская алхимия и многое другое.

А еще 27 декабря игроки смогли начать свой путь с самого начала на новом сервере «Цербер».

20 марта 2018 года состоялось слияние «Веги», «Сириуса» и «Луны». Объединенный сервер получил название «Электра».

15 мая 2018 года было установлено обновление «Царство приключений». В идеальном мире появился настоящий парк развлечений. А еще была изменена база гильдий.

6 ноября 2018 года состоялось слияние «Ориона», «Атласа», «Кассиопеи» и «Лисички». Так появился сервер «Саргас».

18 декабря 2018 года были объединение коснулось серверов «Миры», «Гелиоса», «Гидры» и «Цербера». Игроки с этих миров продолжили играть на «Титане».

27 декабря 2018 года был запущен сервер «Ворон»!

22 мая 2019 года было установлено глобальное обновление «Песнь сумерек»! Новые классы персонажей — Стрелки и Паладины, два режима нового Сумеречного дворца, легендарная экипировка 17-го уровня, система наставничества: это и многое другое стало доступно героям Идеального Мира.

6 ноября 2019 года было запущено обновление «Зов севера»! В игре появились новая межсерверная локация Северные земли, улучшенный редактор персонажей для Стрелков и Паладинов, «Императорская битва», аренда снаряжения, новая денежная система и многое другое.

3 декабря 2019 года состоялось слияние «Электры», «Дракона» и «Ворона»! Жители этих серверов могут продолжили свои приключения в Идеальном Мире на объединенном сервере «Скорпион».

24 декабря 2019 года был открыт новый сервер «Фобос»!

20 мая 2020 года было установлено обновление «Северные земли»! Новый межсерверный Северный континент, расширение территорий Западных земель, уникальный предмет экипировки — Атлас неба и земли, новое подземелье Алтарь Девы, переработка умений персонажей и многое другое ждало героев Идеального Мира.

25 ноября 2020 года состоялось объединение «Титана» и «Фобоса». Игроки этих серверов продолжили приключения в Идеальном Мире на сервере «Гиперион»!

2 декабря 2020 года в Идеальном Мире была установлено обновление Заоблачные божества»! В этот день в игру были добавлены Заоблачные божества, Модный каталог, новое подземелье Гробница шепотов, межсерверная Императорская битва и величественный Ледяной город на Северном континенте.

28 декабря 2020 года был открыт сервер «Арктур».

26 мая 2021 было установлено обновление «Пробуждение драконов». Подземелье Павильон Полнолуния, новые территории Западного континента и Небо идеала, улучшенные внешности для Воинов и Магов, захватывающая «Церемония драконов» — стало доступно героям Идеального Мира в этот день.

10 ноября 2021 в Perfect World вновь произошли пермены. Новый класс — странник, значительные изменения в PvE и PvP, Хроники героев, событие «Триумф Драконов» — это и многое другое ждало героев в обновлении «Путь странника»!

In the beginning of time, the first God of the universe, Pan Gu, lived an immortal life. But with no subjects to lord over, Pan Gu grew tired of his solitary existence and decided to decompose his body into five elements-fire, metal, wood, earth, and water. With his divine power, Pan Gu forged these elements into air, land, mountains, rivers, seas, and plant life-and laid the foundation for a new world. It was then that Pan Gu made his first attempt to fill this new world with life. From his shadow he formed the first sentient beings. These unnamed creatures were uncivilized, and before long, they began turning on one another and corrupting the world around them. Pan Gu saw that what he had created had become an Imperfect World, and moved quickly to rectify his mistake. He built a floating city known as Heaven’s Tear, and placed within the city the few creatures that had yet to be corrupted. Then, with the power of water and wind, Pan Gu created a massive flood, which swept through the land and destroyed all life in its path.

The race that was thought to have been eradicated in the great flood returned in full force. These creatures were not quite living, but not quite dead, and thus came to be known as wraiths. The wraiths appeared to possess a singular objective: to destroy the other races and corrupt the beautiful world around them. Rumors swirled that the wraiths were capable of possessing other living things. Not much is known about the true nature of this evil, but one thing is clear. The three races-Human, Untamed, and Winged Elf-must set aside their differences and unite to preserve their way of life, halt the spread of corruption, and above all, protect the Perfect World.

Бои между игроками возможны на большей части игровой карты. При атаке игрока ник атакующего окрашивается в розовый цвет, с каждым убийством противника приобретая всё более насыщенный красный оттенок. Всего возможны три оттенка ника в зависимости от количества совершенных убийств. Также возможен вызов другого игрока на «дуэль». В дуэли нельзя погибнуть и не работают иерограммы. Между кланами происходят войны за отдельные территории карты мира.
Развитие персонажей [ ]
В игре присутствуют шесть рас (люди, сиды, зооморфы, амфибии, древние, тени) и 12 классов персонажа: по два класса на каждую расу. Игровой баланс классов построен таким образом, что есть место для каждого из них.
У каждого персонажа четыре базовых атрибута:
С каждым уровнем персонажу дают 5 очков для распределения между базовыми атрибутами. Определённые значения параметров персонажа необходимы для того, чтобы одеть экипировку. Благодаря свободному распределению игрок может развить персонажа в различных направлениях.
Пример: магу можно сосредоточиться на увеличении интеллекта, но нужно и немного силы (для ношения магической брони), а можно меньше очков потратить на интеллект, но больше на выносливость, выигрывая по сравнению с т. н. «интовым» магом в живучести и проигрывая в мощи атак.
Также каждому игроку предстоит выбор «рая» или «ада». Каждая из сторон имеет свои преимущества — особые умения или просто дополнения к уже имеющимся умениям. Также у каждой из сторон есть свои данжи и свои квесты.

User Interface
Players can move with the WASD keys, or click on a distant point on the landscape to move towards that point.
The mouse must also be used to move items to be sold at shops. Click and hold down the left mouse button, and drag the item with the mouse to the Sell grid. This is also how to purchase weapons from the Divine Emissary with Honor tokens; most other merchants, such as the Jewelcraftsman and Crafting NPCs, only require items to be in inventory if they are to be consumed.
Click on a monster or NPC to select it. Click twice, or click while it is selected and your character will move towards it to interact (attack monsters or open dialogue with NPCs). Be aware that some rare guard NPCs do not have dialogue and can be attacked; they are nigh invulnerable and very strong.

Teleport Incense given early on is not the same item and does not stack with that given at level 35 with the World Map (teleport locations pack) The early Incense does however stack with the ones given for the Check In Daily Quest
Quickbar
The quickbars can be moved around the screen. The quickbars take some getting used to; just fool around with them until you find they work for you. Other than their somewhat counterintuitive nature, there are a couple of details that are harder to discover with experimentation:

Coordinates Assistant
The Coordinates Assistant allows you to input coordinates and be directed to where they are. You will see many references to (xxx, yyy) coordinate locations: exact locations of important NPCs and the general locations of various mobs. A list of preset locations appears for each area and the cities within them and sub-areas of large locations such as the capital city of Archosaur. Coordinates can be entered into the in-game map system to create map-markers.

Items from the PW Boutique can expand Inventory or bank space. These items can be sold at Player Shops, but there are no quests to get them for free as with the Pet Bag and Bank.
Fashion, Flying Mounts, Riding Mounts, usables. almost anything players could want, even things that are absurdly expensive compared to how easily they can be acquired in game, such as Resources, can be bought at the boutique.
Event Gold, which is acquired free through various means, usually, Arc Redeem Codes has a separate set of tabs in the Boutique

Inventory
Inventory Stones, from the PW Boutique, can expand inventory by eight slots a time, or to 64 slots total. The Stones can be sold at Player Shops, and are quite reasonable cost for high level players (around 5 million coin each), but there are no quests to get them for free as with the Pet Bag and Bank. Super Inventory Stones (25 million or so coin from players) are best for very large inventory; one will expand the inventory to 64 slots, even if it is higher than the starting 32 (+32 maximum, but less if other stones have already been used). If the inventory is already 64, a Super Inventory Stone will expand it to 80 slots, and if it is already 80, to the current maximum of 96.

Characters may switch from the visual look of their equipped armor or the default clothing on body parts with no armor on, to equipped fashion pieces and the default clothing on body parts with no fashion on.
Character
Carefully keeping track of how much Strength is added from equipment, or removing all equipment, is the only way to be sure. Although the green display warns that strength is added, there is no indication of how much. If you are a new player and in doubt about what stats to raise, look at one of the many guides on the subject, at the official forums. Basically though you will do fine for a few levels with only putting points into whatever is required for your weapons, and Arcane armor for a mage, Light armor for Archer, Assassin, or Duskblade, and Heavy Armor for Barbarian and Blademaster

Another way to access the interface used in the Realm of Reflection. This is particularly useful now that Roll Call is an automatic quest. When it is complete, you can get rid of another used-up slot by adding the Reflective Shards to the available Reflection time.

There is always a bit of give and take in any relationship, but there is a lot of taking and a lot of giving in a faction/member relationship. This suits most everyone fairly well much of the time, not so well some of the time, and rarely it can be bloody awful. Whether you are someone who does not even know why people go around expecting you to do or say or not do or not say certain things, or someone who only plays MMOs because here, you can finally be helpful to people, you will find a niche in a faction somewhere. Whether or not other people will appreciate that is another thing altogether.
One thing is for certain: you either join a faction, or you get used to killing your Spiritual Cultivation bosses ten to twenty levels after you get the quest.

Кто-нибудь знает есть ли сильная разница между Perfect World и Perfect World International?
Раньше играл на mail.ru сервере, сейчас там стоит Glory and Newborn (Перерождение), на Китае стоит Chill Of Luneska (Замерзшие земли).
Все вроде бы понятно,
на Perfect World International стоит (я так понял) какой-то New Horizons.
Что это такое и с чем его есть.
Это вообще та же игра? :fie:

Нью хоризонт, это 1.5.1(просто глобал версия) уже. На ру оффе 1.5.0. На Китае уже стоит новый аддон к 1.5.1(т.е уже и 1.5.1 и дополнении есть)
Ру офф отстает жутко по обновлениям от Китая и Международного сервера. Серьезно, на пви\ Китае играть лучше, чем на ру оффе.
UPD: На PWI уже стоит аддон с Китая.

Пв мертво, а так не знаю даунов, которые после продажи игры аструмнивалом остались на руофе, а не ушли на пви.

Кто-нибудь знает есть ли сильная разница между Perfect World и Perfect World International?
Раньше играл на mail.ru сервере, сейчас там стоит Glory and Newborn (Перерождение), на Китае стоит Chill Of Luneska (Замерзшие земли).
Все вроде бы понятно,
на Perfect World International стоит (я так понял) какой-то New Horizons.
Что это такое и с чем его есть.
Это вообще та же игра? :fie:

История создания Perfect World
В России локализатором Perfect World явилась компания Nival Online, которая позже объединилась с компанией Astrum online, образовав компанию Astrum Nival, на данный момент принадлежащей компании «Mail.Ru Group». Начали они локализировать «Perfect World International»(«Perfect World» локализованная в США). Изначально бета-версия русской игры была практически неиграбельна, много чего не работало, текст был переведен не точно, и так далее. Если бы у игры не было хорошей идеи, красивой графики и обширной рекламы, то вероятнее всего игра в России долго бы не просуществовала. Но благодаря усилиям компании, игра перешла на новую стадию своего развития в России.

На данный момент на всех официальных серверах России установлены аддоны: Ярость Богов, Эпоха Джиннов, Легенды Морей, Тигры небожители, Генезис, Испытания и Земли Духов. В России аддон «Генезис» вместе с аддоном «Испытания» был установлен на все официальные сервера двадцатого октября. А аддон Земли Духов появился в России только 24 апреля в 2012 году. Refining laid out!
The Basics
Refining equipment is a method of upgrading your equipment without having to replace it. In every major city, The Elder has the ability to ‘Refine Equipment’ for you. The only required items to refine a piece of equipment are Mirage Celestones. You will need two stones for weapons and one stone for armor. As your equipment is upgraded, it will gain a specific effect depending on the type of equipment.
The higher the upgrade, the more difficult it becomes to refine again. Starting from level 1, your success is not guaranteed. If you fail an upgrade, your item returns to level 0 unless you use a special item.
Refining specific equipment has various effects:
Refining Bonuses
The higher the refining level of the equipment, the better the bonus. The improvement is based on the specific effect amplified by the item’s current refinement level.
The levels are shown below:
Refining Items
Mirage Celestones: These are the only items truly needed for refinement, although their usage alone does not guarantee success.
Dragon Orbs: These items are used as auxiliary items for the refine, and must be dragged into the «Special Materials» box to be used. The level of the Dragon Orb corresponds to the highest level refine that it will guarantee 100% success for. For example, a +3 Dragon Orb will guarantee a successful refine up to +3. Note that Dragon Orbs are one-time use items, and will be consumed upon being used for one refine. Incidentally, this is why the Dragon Orb Ocean (+10) is such a sought-after item.
Tienkang Stones: These items greatly increase the chance of a successful refine, though they are not as powerful as Dragon Orbs. They must be placed in the «Special Materials» box to be used.
Tisha Stones: When placed into the «Special Materials» box, this item will guarantee that an unsuccessful refine will only reduce your item’s current refinement level by 1 instead of the usual penalty.
Cheinkun Stones: Though these items are usually more useful in the Nirvana Recasting process, they can also be used in the «Special Materials» box while refining. They have the same effect on refinement as the Tisha Stone.
Rumors
The Duke Blacke NPC in Archosaur occasionally gives players advice on refining. For example, one of his rumors states that refining when nobody else is around improves refining rates, while another suggests that logging out and restarting your computer also improves the refining rate.
Many of his rumors give advice on specific NPCs to use when attempting to refine to a particular level. Note, however, that the Officer NPCs that Duke Blacke refers to can only be used by players who belong to the faction that controls the territory.

Dear PWI Players,
French and German Language Support
Along with our two new servers come two new clients offering support for our French-speaking and German-speaking player populations! The entire User Interface and nearly all in-game text (including quest text) has been translated into these two languages.
Alternatively, players can also use the French/German client to log in to our North American servers, which should be great for players who speak these languages but live in North America and want to play on a server closer to their own time zone.
Not only are the clients geared toward French and German speakers, but we’re also offering full customer support to these players as well. We’ve got GM’s fluent in French, German, and of course English to assist you should a Customer Service issue come up.
Reduced Lag for Players in and around Europe
More Reasonable Event Schedule
We know that many members of our European player base have had to endure Territory Wars late at night and even early in the morning. Even those who don’t participate in TW can also have a hard time with other events like the Assault on Archosaur and PWI Quiz Event, since they occur during the afternoon in North America, which again translates to a very late night romp for a dedicated European player.
These new servers are located in the UTC/GMT +2 hours time zone, meaning that they are 9 hours ahead of our West Coast Servers and 6 hours ahead of our East Coast Servers. This should make huge difference for our international community, and we’re really happy to finally be able to bring this convenience to you.
So in closing, we’re very excited to open up our first PWI servers outside of North America, and we think they will prove to bring an even more international feel to what was already one of the most diverse games on the market.
Resource
This article needs to be cleaned up in order to match the new style of the wiki.
Resources are used in the crafting of weapons, armor, charms, ornaments, and remedies. Ingredients sources are either items dropped by monsters, or gathering points that respawn on a timer. The Resource Spawns that the player Digs are often named differently to the resources that are gathered. Resources respawn on a ten minute timer.
Resources used to require a pickaxe in inventory to gather; they still require the character be a certain level. E.g., Level 50 characters cannot gather level 4 resources.
You cannot cast spells while you are digging resource spawns, although you can set a location to run to afterwards. You cannot use potions or feed your mount, but again, these will take effect immediately afterwards.
Random numbers of resources are gathered (either two or three Apothecary ingredients, or one or two of the other items), with the results usually being high for established practioners of a Craft relevant to that resource, and heavily weighted to low numbers for non-craftspeople. So gather with your crafter player character if possible.
There is not as much competition for resource spawns as there is for Rare Venomancer Pets, so they can be gathered on a «circuit» of multiple resource spawns that, from experience, the player knows will be ready to gather again on the next circuit. One such run is the Shattered Jade Shore run, along the shoreline and back down south through the Tombstone and Hexweb Master enemies, which garners all the harvestable level 2 resource types. All mineral and wood spawns respawn every 10 minutes.
Drops from monsters are trickier because gathering the lower level materials requires a dedicated character to remain at the character level just above the level of the monsters. Too low, and the code does not credit the player with the «right» to get good drops. Too high, and again, the game considers the kills too easy, so it will not reward the player for them. Somewhere around the level that the monsters first display green to the character should be ideal.
Because of this, the very highest level materials are in the most abundant supply. Most of the characters in the game are level 100-105, so they will never advance past the «sweet spot» of the best drop rate of, for example, level 98 Ironite Demons and their Vega String drops. Any player can «farm» them, and so sellers have to be willing to accept a lower price, should another player undercut them

Availability
None of the harvestable resources (Metal, Coal, Rock, or Wood) are very scarce. They can be gathered without combat, and the only thing random about gathering them is whether the character gets one or two from the spawn. Drops from monsters, on the other hand, are a random chance, a low chance, affected by character level and monster level.
Metal is the most in demand for recipes of the harvestable materials. It is the first ingredient of Heavy Armor Tailoring recipes, as well as part of the Blacksmith material, it has a little extra demand, but nothing to drive up the price.
The least in demand of the harder to get monster drops is Thread. It is used as a first ingredient in Blacksmith Magic Weapon recipes as well as the Tailor material. Thread is actually rarer than other drops, but as it is used only as one of three armor types in Tailoring, and only Magic weapons in Blacksmithing (and only a few of those), supplies rarely run low. It is dropped from humanoids in general, and a few less easily categorized creatures.
Glue is very expensive; it is part of the Blacksmith AND Tailor materials, and a monster drop. No recipes use it as a first ingredient, though.
Oil is used in all three crafts, and is the second hardest ingredient to obtain in sufficient quantities, at least until item level 9, to level all three craft types; it drops from what can be unscientifically described as ‘Bugs’, or more accurately, Arthropods: Spiders and Scorpions (not insects otherwise we could say ‘Insects’), Bee/Wasp types, and the bugs of inscrutable genus Centipex, with centipede legs and a carnivore’s jaws.
The most in demand of all is Pelts. Furs (low level Leather) are the most in demand and the scarcest in relation to their demand until item level 9; like Oils they are not only used in crafts but also in the creation of Metal. They are monster drops, and rarer than you might think, as they do not drop from many monsters that look like animals. They are used as a first ingredient in nearly two-thirds of all Craftsman recipes. They are used as a first ingredient in one third of Tailor recipes. They are used in huge amounts to craft Bows for Archers, and finally, they are used in every single Blacksmith recipe, as part of its primary material.
From item level 9 (crafting level 5; player level 80), ingredients become cheaper to obtain relative to player income, and much more balanced, with Leather and Oil being more common. This is due not so much to increased drops as to the higher rate and therefore higher number of XP runs that the player community completes at higher levels, as well as an increased number of players at those higher levels, in a game that is now years old and has fewer low level players.
If the mark of a valuable resource is its ubiquity in recipes, and high level ones, but that is itself low level, and thus easy to gather, then Tier 3 mats are that. They can be gathered at the border of Plume City (that is to say, the path to where they can be gathered is the lowest level of all; the gathering place itself is level 60 or so), and they are needed in very large quantities to make [ Ultimate Substance], which is needed for entry into Twilight Temple, and many of the recipes for armor and weapons from that dungeon. Ultimate Substance can also be made from Perfect Token of Luck, so in that one sense at least, the price of mats is tied to that of PToLs.
Other characters to attend to, no time to run around? Slower but less time-consuming is to camp spawns.

Resource gathering seems to have become competitive of late, if it was not already. So in a way I am loathe to give up this secret. But I do believe there is enough for everyone, eventually, and it does not aid one for others to run shoddy runs; they just have to get in your way for longer. Besides, there are more, and arguably better, spawns up north of Sirry.

Medium Grade
Probably best location, barring insufficient evasion or fighting skills, is Fragrant Hills. The bunnies in particular are very aggressive in their roaming, and all the enemies do ranged magic attacks which are harsh on heavy armor and are harder to avoid. The area is rich in the other materials, but metal is a little scarce. The trees make flying difficult; the speed of ground mounts make them preferable in any case.

Herbs
Unlike other resource spawns, the gathered product of herbs is always what the spawn object is called.
Gathering of herb ingredients in general is, compared with other crafts, very labor-intensive at lower levels. At high levels, the benefit of a temporary enhancement, albeit one that is always of the same value, compares somewhat unfavorably with armor and weapons that enhance the player constantly, albeit the crafter must create many items before an exceptional one is created. Compare gathering 25 spawns of herbs for tier 1 Apothecary recipes with as little as 4 items for tier 1 Forging recipes, 2 of which can be bought from Merchants. However, at later levels the Apothecary requires 45 items and some Blacksmith recipes, 100 items or more. Also many Apothecary items are extremely powerful additions to a character’s performance.
Information from PW Database indicates that gathering each higher level of herbs than 1 requires +20 to character level, ie character level 60 is required to gather level 4 herbs. This would mean that although a player can craft level 4 Apothecary recipes at level 50, the player would have to buy the herbs from other players at the Auction House etc to do so.

В Идеальном Мире существует шесть рас: сиды, люди, зооморфы, амфибии, древние и тени. При этом внутри каждой расы существует по несколько уникальных классов. На данный момент в игре доступны 15 классов.
Игрокам предстоит выполнять задания и совершенствовать своих персонажей изучая многочисленные локации и данжи в игровом мире. Игрокам доступны перемещения по земле и воде, а также возможность безграничного полета.
В Perfect World развитая PvP-система. Игроки могут принять участие в массовых сражениях между гильдиями или продемонстрировать свое мастерство на всевозможных внутрисерверных или межсерверных PvP-ивентах. В общем и целом, я оцениваю эту игру где-то на семерочку.
Игра становится всё пичальней и пичальней.
Если раньше это было место соприкосновения чем-то тонким, непередаваемым, атмосфера накрывала волной и пробегала от корней волос до кончиков пальцев, заставляя прочувствовать этот необычный, непривычный, неизведанный, но несомненной прекрасный мир, претендующий на звание Идеального.
Пусть с кучей багов, кусками не переведенного текста да и порой ТАКИМИ косяками локализации, что волосы на коленках шевелились, но Perfect World захватывал, потрясал воображение.
А что теперь? Мобы-мобы-мобы-40й уровень-ежа-ежа-ежа-60й уровень, тут ежи хватать перестаёт, полученные за квесты юаньки заканчиваются, тянуть с переодеванием из квестового нубо-шмота на 30й уровень становится невозможным и игрок направляется к автомату, закидывать зарплату мейло-нивалу. Затем снова ежа-гиперы-ежа-гиперы-70й лвл-гуй-гуй-гуй-80й лвл-иней-иней-иней. И так до 100, с перерывами на беганье к автомату и вливание реала на огромнейший список жизненно необходимых вещей, действительно необходимых. Затем неожиданно апается 100й лвл и игрок, ничего не умеющий, ибо кроме скоростного оплаченного кача ничего не видел, либо вдоначивает просто бешеную сумму на финал-шмот, либо идёт искать себе другое место, для убивания времени.
Хотя, впрочем, вдонативший вскоре отправляется туда же ибо крутые шмотки руки не заменяют, а играть своим классом он так и не научился.

A Beginner’s Guide to Perfect World

Hello new adventurer! Looking to start a new journey in the land of Perfect World? Well then, this guide has been created just for you. We’ll be covering the basics of Perfect World and how to begin your adventures.
Creating A New Character
In Perfect World, there are 5 main races that inhabit the land, each with two distinct classes. After logging in, simply choose «create a character» to get started!
Humans have been on the land since the beginning along with the Untamed and Winged Elves. Many wars were fought between these three races, in which humans became known for their battle prowess with a wide variety of weapons, as well as their ability to harness the power of water, fire, and earth. They can train to be Blademasters or Wizards, choosing to either be the melee physical damager dealer or a magical ranged area of effect nuker.
Untamed are a feral race of evolved animals with a humanoid appearance. The males of the race retained their barbaric animal nature, aptly named Barbarians, allowing them to be an unstoppable force on the battlefield. The females of the race honed their control of magic while also increasing their harmonious relationship with nature, allowing their Venomancers to be adept at training wild animals in addition to casting (and purging) debilitating magic.
Winged Elves are the only race in perfect world that start the game with the ability to fly! These demi-gods have the best qualities of mortals and gods, allowing them to excel in highly dexterous skills such as archery, while also having an innately strong talent for magic. The would-be adventurers of this race either choose to become Archers or to help empower their allies as Clerics through healing skills using the power of wind, thunder, and lightning.
Tideborn are relatively new to the land of Perfect World, having come from the sea itself to settle on the southeastern most island of Perfect World. Well known for their mastery of illusion and deception, a tideborn may choose to be an Assassin, allowing them to excel greatly in surprise burst attacks from literally out of the shadows. Alternatively, a tideborn may choose to be a Psychic, harnessing the power of the waves with magical skills that slowly whittle down their opponent, similar ocean waves on rock, or they may rejuvenate their allies; flowing between offense & defense smoothly.
Earthguard are a race born from the very earth itself, having only just recently awoken from their slumber. They are a race of defenders, only called on when the land is in dire trouble and in need of their pure soul’s power. A Seeker is a two-handed or dual wielding earthguard class that strives to strike a balance between the arcane and martial arts as they utilize both metal elemental spells and physical melee attacks. Mystics are master casters of nature’s lifeforce, able to cast enhancements, resurrect others, and summon plants & powerful creatures to aid them in battle.
Character Customization
Perfect World International has one of the most robust character customization options you’ll find in any online game. You can choose a preset to quickly get in-game to play or work as a base to modify. With a whole host of sliders to customize anything from eyebrow depth to leg or arm size, you can spend quite a long time just perfectly creating the character you want the most.

That last one is a bit extreme, but it shows just how far you can push the parameters of PWI’s character customization!
Starting Off
After creating a new character, you’ll be entered into the starting zone, Astral Domain. You’ll see in the top right a large question mark button. Click this button to open up a series of helpful windows and guides. Sheomay, the PWI guide, will help you on your journey with useful tips and instructions. Simply click the arrow «review» button on her window to go through her lessons or bring her up with the I key and use her to identify aspects of the UI for you.

the encyclopedia is just for you!
Upon entering the Astral Domain, you’ll be introduced to the world and asked to talk to key non-player characters of the land. Perfect World International makes this simple and stress free with it’s auto-pathing system. All you need to do is click the NPC name on the Quest Tracker window to be taken straight to them!
Talking to NPCs in Perfect World is simple. Just click on them to first bring up their dialogue window. At the bottom of the window you will see quest options if they have a colored flag over their head. An example is below.
Remember, once you finish a quest with them, make sure to talk to them again for the next part in the quest chain!
Using the Action Bar
In the Astral Domain, you’ll be given an item that allows you to use 4 higher level skills for your class temporarily. This gives you a little taste of the power to come. To slot new skills onto your action bar, hit the R key, to bring up the Skill List.
If you take a look at your Action Bar at the bottom (1-9), you will notice you already have actions slotted into it. The first slot is the basic attack icon while the second and third are class skills. To slot new active skills into the Action Bar, simply drag and drop a skill icon on to the slot of your choice.
That is all you need to do. Mousing over any skill icon will create a tooltip window detailing the skill. Now passive skills cannot be slotted as they are always in effect.
«Combo Skills» are custom made skill macros that goes from one skill to another in a chain. Clicking «new» will allow you to make a combo skill. «Skill Tree» shows your class’ skills and their requirements.
Equipping Gear
To be able to fend for yourself in Perfect World, you’ll need to make sure you are properly equipped with gear. To do so, all you need to do is open up the Inventory Window (B) and right click on a weapon, armor piece, charm, wing, etc to equip it! Be careful with items that are bind on equip, as once an item is bound to you, it will be difficult to impossible to unbind it. A bound item cannot be traded or auctioned.
Exploring Perfect World
Quests in Perfect World are numerous and will take you on grand adventures throughout the expanse of the land. Once you finish the starting zone, you’ll be put into Perfect World to begin your adventure. Hit Q to bring up the Quest Window to see what you currently need to complete.
As you can see, there is auto-pathing text inside the quest window just like the quest tracker window. This text is generally green unless in the tracker window. Inside the Quest Window, you will be able to view the details of the quest, the quest giver, the awarder’s location, and the reward itself.
After a certain time, however, you’ll be exploring all over the land so much that you might not know what to do next. If this ever happens, all you need to do is select the «Available Quests» tab on the Quest Window to see what is available to you. As you level up, you will be surprised at how much is just waiting for you to dive into and explore!
Wraith Types and the Elements
As you carry out quests and take down wraiths (monsters), you’ll notice your attacks doing varying damage to different monsters of the same level. This is because of the element system in Perfect World. Each wraith in the world has a different element type which responds differently when attacked based on the attack’s elemental properties.
Metal : weak against Fire
Wood : weak against Metal
Fire : weak against Water
Water : weak against Earth
Earth : weak against Wood
Non-Elemental : neutral
This can decide many battles, especially for casters as they rely heavily on powerful ranged elemental attacks. Players may increase their resistances to certain elements, reducing the damage they take from that element’s attack whether it be from a wraith or player.
Leveling Up
As you kill wraiths, complete quests, use special items, etc. you’ll find yourself gaining more and more: experience, coins, and spirit. You will also gain more character attribute points, 5 per level, to be distributed amongst the 4 main attributes of PWI. Each class can be said to benefit from specific attributes based on their design, however, even within this there is room for customization towards your own preferences of play. There are items in the PW Boutique that can reset your points, allowing you to optimize your build as you master your class.
Vitality (VIT): Governs health points and health recovery rate, as well as physical & magical defenses.
Strength (STR): Governs physical attack, physical defense, and is the requirement for all three types of armor (Arcane. Light, Heavy)
Magic (MAG): Governs mana points, magic attack, magical defenses, mana recovery rate, and is a req. for arcane armor.
Dexterity (DEX): Affects accuracy for physical attacks, critical strike rate, evasion, and is the source of missile/dagger attack damage for archers and assassins, respectively. It is also a requirement for heavy and light armor, especially light armor.
Other than assigning attribute points, you will want to learning skills to make use of all that coin and spirit. Both spirit and coin are needed to train each skill, as pictured below, and to also upgrade the level of a skill too.
For the most part, spirit can only be obtained from finishing quests and killing wraiths, actions that also give you experience points. This means that as you level, you won’t be able to learn every single skill available to you for your level. Deciding on the path your character is going to take skill-wise will be the defining feature of your character for many levels to come.
Spiritual Cultivation
Another aspect to your character’s growth is called Spiritual Cultivation. As you explore, you will need to cultivate your spirit towards understanding all truth and your place in the universe. Everyone starts off as spiritual initiates and can choose to begin on their path towards being either a Sage or Demon at Lv9. Every ten levels, a new quest chain will become available to progress.
Once completed, anytime between Lv80-105 (max), new skills become available as well as modifications to existing skills based on the path chosen. There are many steps towards that end result, and some skills may require you to be at a certain stage of spiritual development before they can be learned or upgraded.
Perfect World Boutique
Last on the list of basic things to know is the ever useful and updating Perfect World Boutique! Push the O key to bring it up starting on the «New» tab of the shop page. This boutique is updated weekly with special deals on a wide variety of items such as fashion clothing and fashion weapons. You can also find a bunch of utlity items such as the Geographic Map which gives you every teleport location (every town has one), inventory expansion stones which expand your inventory, or charms that restores mana or health as it hits a certain threshold.
To purchase items, you will need to transfer or charge ZEN into your Perfect World server. One dollar equals 100 ZEN which equals 1 gold in-game. At the auction house, players may trade gold for coins, allowing the acquisition of gold without spending a single dollar.
The tab to the right of «Shop» is «Events» which takes you to the Event Boutique. This boutique works off of event gold and silver, which can be obtained from events, giveaways, and promotions. This boutique carries less items, but still has great value as event gold can only be acquired in-game. Using this boutique, you can pick up some useful items as well as flyers and mounts too.
That does it for learning the basics of Perfect World International. However, this game is no newcomer and has been built up to become quite a heavy hitter when it comes to features and depth.

It has a very elitist culture. With PWE constantly removing the ability for individuals to be able to get squads, due to inferior equipment, they make it more difficult for struggling players by removing items from being able to be earned from a solo endeavour making it very difficult to progress in this game. Other players constantly ask that you show your weapon before granting you an invitation to a squad.
Items that were previously able to be earned through tasks in game are removed and put into the cash shop on a regular basis. This can make it difficult or more likely impossible to be able to improve your gear or abilities without paying real world money, when coming late to the game, due to established players having been able to acquire it more easily.
The company has been mismanaging its games for many years now. This has been reflected in the great many lay offs of employees in the company, the rapid decline in its share prices and the closing of many of its divisions. Servers have been merged many times over the years, with only one quarter of the servers remaining now, due to only having one eighth of the population they once had. It is estimated that many of the games that PWE support won’t last more than 2 to 3 years, so investing time or money in their games would be a complete waste.
I have played this game for 9 years and have seen it go from being one of the greatest MMO’s to the mess that it is now. I more than anyone would love to see someone come on board with the courage to do what is necessary to turn this game around. I had many family and friends that used to play this game, that have all quit and never anticipate returning. Although I loved playing this game, even I can’t encourage others to play this game with a clear conscience.
Don’t be mislead by individuals that lie and tell you that elite gear can be easily obtained for free, they have an ulterior motive. The population of this game is dying at an incredible rate and those that have spent countless hours and thousands of dollars will do anything to keep it alive, even trying to encourage others to join by feeding them lies about how simple it is to not spend money and achieve high level gear and abilities. Unless your idea of a great weekend is being constantly one shot by these individuals, I would highly advise trying another game. Unfortunately greed and selfishness dominate this game.
Other games that won’t have your bank manager calling you in a hysteric and allow you to compete on a more even playing field more quickly would be «Tera» or «Elder Scrolls Online». … Expand

Hello and welcome to the beginner’s guide. Hopefully this is enough to get you started into this game. You can also try talking to other Perfect World players (both in game and in the forums) and you’ll often get a lot of help if you just ask for it, so don’t be afraid to ask.

Getting Started [ ]
You will first have to create an Arc account here and download the Arc client, then the game, before you can play. The download may take a long while, so be prepared. You will want to read the game’s Terms of Service because your lack of knowledge will not keep you out of trouble if you don’t play nice or try to hack the game.
Once you start the game and sign in you will have to create a character that you will play. The game offers six different races with two to three classes for each race:
Each has it’s own special abilities and you can make 8 different customized characters on a single account. When you make a character, experiment with the customization adjustments so your character will look just as you want to be. After you finalize your character you will have 24 hours to make a few more adjustments to your character’s appearance, after that time expires it becomes permanent. You can of course delete a character at any time but it will take a week for the character to be deleted off the server. During that time you can choose to restore your deleted character if you want it back.
Once you have made a character you will log it on to the server of choice and will appear in the starting location of that character’s race and class in an instance called Celestial Vale. A help window will pop up. You should read this in detail and keep the help window active for as long as you need help while playing.
The Basics [ ]
There are a lot of things to learn but not all of it needs to be learned right away. Before you start to actually play your character you should check the User Screen interface and familiarize yourself with it. One of the more important things on the interface is the 2 «Quick Launch Bars». These can be moved and opened to show all the available spaces to place the icons that activate your skills or make changes to your character.
Here is a quick overview of what you can do to setup the Quick Launch Bars (QLBs):
To add new skills or replace the ones you dragged off the QLB drag the skill icon from the Skills window to a slot on the bar. Now when you want that action while playing just click the icon that is on the bar.
Game Play [ ]
First thing to do is to talk to the Guide NPC (Non-Player Character, the game’s characters for interaction with players). You will know you have quests at NPCs because they will have a Shield icon over their head. Most of the time you will want to take the quests that they offer.
My advice is to get every quest you can while in an area, check them out and then do all of them. Sometimes you won’t want to do a quest after checking it out because it a special event or quest chain you might not be ready for.
Now you are on you way, so as long as you read the help you can start to get the hang of playing your character. PWI does a good job of allowing you the gradually get the feel of what to do and as you progress you will learn new ways to speed up your leveling and be a better player.

Intro to Macros [ ]
Here is a handy advance method to fire a number of skills one after the other so you don’t have to click the skills individually each time. Once you learn to use your skills you should make a Macro that can combine selected skills into a package and assign one icon to put on the QLB, as seen in slot #1 on the QLB graphic above. Clicking the Macro icon will fire the skills. The one thing that makes it difficult is choosing the correct sequence of skills in the macro. Such thing as skill cooldown, mana depletion and interrupts may interfere or prevent the next skill from being fired causing the macro to stop.

Questing [ ]
Questing is where you speak to an NPC (Non-Player Character) to get a quest with a target/objective with a reward at the end of it. If you press Q you will open your Quest Log. Here you can check what quests you have accepted and what other quests are available for your level range. Click on NPC names, monster names or coordinates in the quest log will cause your character to Auto-Path to them. You can also choose to press «Track» so you can have a visible list of current quests on your screen even when you have your quest log hidden.
The User Screen [ ]
The user screen is where you get see everything that is going on around you and how to talk to friends, etc. Here is an example of what the user interface (UI) may look like:
Armor and Weapons [ ]
Armor: You can buy armor from NPCs with «Tailor» in their name. The more you level, the more armor you can wear. Also, as level you can get better armor.
Weapons: Weapons you can buy from NPCs with «Blacksmith» in their name. The same goes here, the more you level, the more weapons you can use with your character.
These NPC vendors can be found in any city or town/village. Armor and weapons can sometime be acquired from monsters and quests, and some of these weapons may have sockets in them. A socket is a place where you can put shards/gems that you get throughout the game, from the «Merchant» NPCs and that will add a bonus to your armor and weapons, such as +5 Magic Attack.
Monsters [ ]
Monsters (called Wraiths) are placed all around Perfect World and have set levels and elements.
Metal: Weak against fire Wood: Weak against metal Fire: Weak against water Water: Weak against earth Earth: Weak against wood Non Elemental: Weak against nothing
Certain monsters will be harder to kill than others due to their rank. Some level 30 monsters may be easy to kill but some may be a lot harder, and you can see this because they will have a design around their name bar.
Boutique [ ]
The Boutique is where items are available to be bought with Gold, which is either bought with real money from Arc games or bought from the Auction House through Gold Trading, where players can buy Gold for gold coins from other players, or sell their Gold to other players for gold coins.
The Boutique contains rare and normal items, such as Fashion which are used to make your character look different, Mounts, and various other things that can make your game more fun or earn you some money.

A Beginner’s Guide to Perfect World

Hello new adventurer! Looking to start a new journey in the land of Perfect World? Well then, this guide has been created just for you. We’ll be covering the basics of Perfect World and how to begin your adventures.
Creating A New Character
In Perfect World, there are 5 main races that inhabit the land, each with two distinct classes. After logging in, simply choose «create a character» to get started!
Humans have been on the land since the beginning along with the Untamed and Winged Elves. Many wars were fought between these three races, in which humans became known for their battle prowess with a wide variety of weapons, as well as their ability to harness the power of water, fire, and earth. They can train to be Blademasters or Wizards, choosing to either be the melee physical damager dealer or a magical ranged area of effect nuker.
Untamed are a feral race of evolved animals with a humanoid appearance. The males of the race retained their barbaric animal nature, aptly named Barbarians, allowing them to be an unstoppable force on the battlefield. The females of the race honed their control of magic while also increasing their harmonious relationship with nature, allowing their Venomancers to be adept at training wild animals in addition to casting (and purging) debilitating magic.
Winged Elves are the only race in perfect world that start the game with the ability to fly! These demi-gods have the best qualities of mortals and gods, allowing them to excel in highly dexterous skills such as archery, while also having an innately strong talent for magic. The would-be adventurers of this race either choose to become Archers or to help empower their allies as Clerics through healing skills using the power of wind, thunder, and lightning.
Tideborn are relatively new to the land of Perfect World, having come from the sea itself to settle on the southeastern most island of Perfect World. Well known for their mastery of illusion and deception, a tideborn may choose to be an Assassin, allowing them to excel greatly in surprise burst attacks from literally out of the shadows. Alternatively, a tideborn may choose to be a Psychic, harnessing the power of the waves with magical skills that slowly whittle down their opponent, similar ocean waves on rock, or they may rejuvenate their allies; flowing between offense & defense smoothly.
Earthguard are a race born from the very earth itself, having only just recently awoken from their slumber. They are a race of defenders, only called on when the land is in dire trouble and in need of their pure soul’s power. A Seeker is a two-handed or dual wielding earthguard class that strives to strike a balance between the arcane and martial arts as they utilize both metal elemental spells and physical melee attacks. Mystics are master casters of nature’s lifeforce, able to cast enhancements, resurrect others, and summon plants & powerful creatures to aid them in battle.
Character Customization
Perfect World International has one of the most robust character customization options you’ll find in any online game. You can choose a preset to quickly get in-game to play or work as a base to modify. With a whole host of sliders to customize anything from eyebrow depth to leg or arm size, you can spend quite a long time just perfectly creating the character you want the most.

That last one is a bit extreme, but it shows just how far you can push the parameters of PWI’s character customization!
Starting Off
After creating a new character, you’ll be entered into the starting zone, Astral Domain. You’ll see in the top right a large question mark button. Click this button to open up a series of helpful windows and guides. Sheomay, the PWI guide, will help you on your journey with useful tips and instructions. Simply click the arrow «review» button on her window to go through her lessons or bring her up with the I key and use her to identify aspects of the UI for you.

Upon entering the Astral Domain, you’ll be introduced to the world and asked to talk to key non-player characters of the land. Perfect World International makes this simple and stress free with it’s auto-pathing system. All you need to do is click the NPC name on the Quest Tracker window to be taken straight to them!
Talking to NPCs in Perfect World is simple. Just click on them to first bring up their dialogue window. At the bottom of the window you will see quest options if they have a colored flag over their head. An example is below.
Remember, once you finish a quest with them, make sure to talk to them again for the next part in the quest chain!
Using the Action Bar
In the Astral Domain, you’ll be given an item that allows you to use 4 higher level skills for your class temporarily. This gives you a little taste of the power to come. To slot new skills onto your action bar, hit the R key, to bring up the Skill List.
If you take a look at your Action Bar at the bottom (1-9), you will notice you already have actions slotted into it. The first slot is the basic attack icon while the second and third are class skills. To slot new active skills into the Action Bar, simply drag and drop a skill icon on to the slot of your choice.
That is all you need to do. Mousing over any skill icon will create a tooltip window detailing the skill. Now passive skills cannot be slotted as they are always in effect.
«Combo Skills» are custom made skill macros that goes from one skill to another in a chain. Clicking «new» will allow you to make a combo skill. «Skill Tree» shows your class’ skills and their requirements.
Equipping Gear
To be able to fend for yourself in Perfect World, you’ll need to make sure you are properly equipped with gear. To do so, all you need to do is open up the Inventory Window (B) and right click on a weapon, armor piece, charm, wing, etc to equip it! Be careful with items that are bind on equip, as once an item is bound to you, it will be difficult to impossible to unbind it. A bound item cannot be traded or auctioned.
Exploring Perfect World
Quests in Perfect World are numerous and will take you on grand adventures throughout the expanse of the land. Once you finish the starting zone, you’ll be put into Perfect World to begin your adventure. Hit Q to bring up the Quest Window to see what you currently need to complete.
As you can see, there is auto-pathing text inside the quest window just like the quest tracker window. This text is generally green unless in the tracker window. Inside the Quest Window, you will be able to view the details of the quest, the quest giver, the awarder’s location, and the reward itself.
After a certain time, however, you’ll be exploring all over the land so much that you might not know what to do next. If this ever happens, all you need to do is select the «Available Quests» tab on the Quest Window to see what is available to you. As you level up, you will be surprised at how much is just waiting for you to dive into and explore!
Wraith Types and the Elements
As you carry out quests and take down wraiths (monsters), you’ll notice your attacks doing varying damage to different monsters of the same level. This is because of the element system in Perfect World. Each wraith in the world has a different element type which responds differently when attacked based on the attack’s elemental properties.
Metal : weak against Fire
Wood : weak against Metal
Fire : weak against Water
Water : weak against Earth
Earth : weak against Wood
Non-Elemental : neutral
This can decide many battles, especially for casters as they rely heavily on powerful ranged elemental attacks. Players may increase their resistances to certain elements, reducing the damage they take from that element’s attack whether it be from a wraith or player.

Leveling Up
As you kill wraiths, complete quests, use special items, etc. you’ll find yourself gaining more and more: experience, coins, and spirit. You will also gain more character attribute points, 5 per level, to be distributed amongst the 4 main attributes of PWI. Each class can be said to benefit from specific attributes based on their design, however, even within this there is room for customization towards your own preferences of play. There are items in the PW Boutique that can reset your points, allowing you to optimize your build as you master your class.

That does it for learning the basics of Perfect World International. However, this game is no newcomer and has been built up to become quite a heavy hitter when it comes to features and depth.
