Story
One month after Subaru’s new life in another world began, an emissary sent by the royal castle suddenly appears with news that the royal selection has been postponed, but offers no reason as to why. The postponement of this grand event that decides the next ruler of the Kingdom of Lugunica stirs Subaru and his friends into action. They return to the royal capital only to find that a sixth candidate has claimed their stake for the throne. But the Dragon Stone prophesizes that only five candidates would be chosen. With one candidate being an imposter, suspicions are immediately cast toward one woman in particular: Emilia. What answers lie beyond the mysterious web of assassinations, betrayal, and conspiracies…?

Обзор Re:Zero — The Prophecy of the Throne. Неопределившийся фанфик
Если после предыдущего абзаца кажется, что музыка в игре не удалась, это не так. В пиковые моменты сюжета, где роль звука наиболее важна, композиции слабо справляются с работой, но это не делает саундтрек плохим целиком. В размеренные эпизоды фоновая мелодия идеально ложится на происходящее, а композиция из главного меню наряду с темой из заставки в скором времени очутятся в моём плейлисте. Вместо привычного поклонниками серии Кеничиро Суэхиро (Kenichiro Suehiro) за музыку отвечал Такаши Окамото (Takashi Okamoto), и его работу можно оценить удовлетворительно. Если не ждать от саундтрека сверхъестественного, то он порадует.
Моменты, когда Re:Zero не заставляет читать текст, делятся на две части: сражения, которые делают вид, что они тактические, и передвижение по городу, которое делает вид, что оно свободное. В первом случае героев переносят на изометрическую карту и ставят цель, каждый раз иную: обезвредить банду, сбежать от убийцы или найти в городе родителей маленькой девочки. Управлять дают только главным героем: искусственный интеллект определяет действия и противников, и союзников. Особо думать игра не заставляет, но требует чёткое понимание цели миссии. Перед началом каждого задания проходит не слишком значимый, но затянутый брифинг, где игрок решает, как именно собирается проходить. Псевдотактические эпизоды в целом радуют и разбавляют монотонное чтение, но к ним две претензии: непродуманная частота появления миссии и отсутствие даже минимальной тактики.
Временами игра даёт персонажу самостоятельность побегать по локациям, изображая открытый мир, однако на самом деле идти можно только в одном направлении. Как только Субару направится в другую сторону, то тут же выдаст: «мне туда не надо» и остановится. Двигаться разрешено строго по направлению сюжета, количество развилок считается одним пальцем руки. Если околотактические миссии предлагают хоть какой-то геймплей, то здесь переключение внимания вредно.
А ещё сюжет игры отдаёт фанфиком, даже несмотря на участие автора оригинального Re:Zero в написании сценария. Появление главного злодея первого сезона, сделанное скорее для галочки, неуместное всплывание персонажей и излишняя концентрация на них фансервиса ради. При этом главные герои не развиваются, происходящие события на них не влияют. Нет, фанфик получился достойный, но без послевкусия: прошёл и забыл.
Плюсы: модели персонажей, диалоги и прочее наполнение сюжета.
Минусы: слабый порт, нет запоминающихся эпизодов.
Прошел месяц после того, как Субару Нацуки начал новую жизнь в том мире, в котором оказался. Теперь его жизнь куда более яркая и интересная, и, казалось бы. все плохое уже давно закончилось. Но не тут-то было. Пришла ужасная новость. Посланный королевским замком эмиссар доложил, что отбор отложен, а после этого и вовсе Драконий Камень предсказал, что выбрано будет только пять кандидатов, а не шесть, и что один из кандидатов является самозванцем. Естественно, Субару не смог сидеть на месте и был вынужден отправиться в новое путешествие…
Кто является самозванцем, и кто крутит интриги в королевском замке? Кто стоит за всеми убийствами, предательствами и тайнами, что снова портят атмосферу в замке? И как вообще со всем этим связано прибытие в этот мир главного героя? Вот вам и нужно будет найти ответы на эти вопросы. Но не думайте, что будет легко…
Что касается игрового процесса, так его здесь условно можно поделить на несколько частей. С одной стороны, тут вам полноценная тактическая игра, в которой вам придется заниматься прокачкой характеристик, принимать разные решения, и делать многое другое. С другой стороны, здесь вам еще и визуальная новелла, с кучами диалогов, интересными персонажами, и многочисленными заставками. А еще тут вас будет ждать и огромный мир, исследование его просторов, и не только.

Today I have Alex Flagg and Hiro Watanabe, the localization producers for Re:Zero – Starting Life in Another World – The Prophecy of the Throne to talk about what goes into creating a video game adaptation of Re:Zero.
Since the Re:Zero anime and light novel are very popular in the West, a lot of people might know this already… But just in case some people are not familiar with Re:Zero, can you tell us a little bit about the overall storyline and how the anime and the video game adaptation are linked?
Hiro Watanabe: Re:Zero follows the story of Subaru, a shut-in living in Japan who finds himself transported to another world. He eventually falls for a silver-haired half-elf girl, who happens to be a candidate to become the next ruler of the kingdom, and discovers that he has the ability to go back in time whenever he dies, allowing him to redo the mistakes of his past. I don’t want to give too much away, but he ends up getting involved in a series of events involving assassins, cultists, witches, and some other eccentric characters.
Hiro: Recording under quarantine definitely came with its difficulties. Most of the work was done remotely, but we worked closely with the same studio that recorded the anime dub for this series, and the VAs and directors are all fantastic at what they do. We did have some technical hiccups along the way, but I think the end result turned out great.
We know that there are six new characters. Can you tell us a little bit about Melty and how she is involved in the royal selection?
Hiro: Melty is the nun that’s been featured in a lot of the promo material for this title. She’s a candidate of the royal selection, but has a more gentle and reserved personality compared to the other royal candidates who tend to be more headstrong. She and her camp bring an interesting dynamic to the cast, and those who are familiar with the series might enjoy seeing how events play out differently with their involvement.
We know there is already a big fan base for Re:Zero. Was there any challenge to make the game appealing to the existing Re:Zero fans?
Alex: There were certain things we knew fans would be expecting from this title. Like, “this has to be in a Re:Zero game.” One of those key points would be Return by Death. It’s such an interesting and unique part of Re:Zero, so we are happy to say it is implemented into this game.
Hiro: Return by Death is an iconic part of the series, and works well as a game mechanic in which one of the main objectives is to gather intel and items to help you get through obstacles. I think fans also enjoy Re:Zero for the storyline and character interactions, so I think they’ll appreciate that this title was fully supervised by the original author, Tappei Nagatsuki. It was a challenge with so many mediums of this series using different terms and phrasing, but we (especially our editor) put extra care into researching the characters and story for this game.
What do you think is the biggest draw of this game? Who do you think will enjoy playing?
Alex: I think the biggest draw of the game is being able to see your favorite Re:Zero characters in new situations and storylines. They’re expanding the world a bit with this title so that will be very cool for fans of the series.
Hiro: With the script having been supervised by the original author Tappei Nagatsuki, the character designs done by the series artist Shinichirou Otsuka, and both the Japanese and English cast reprising their roles for this title, I think there’s a lot for fans who are looking forward to more Re:Zero content to enjoy. Also, it’s always fun to see your favorite characters in new situations like Alex mentioned.

Re zero starting life in another world the prophecy of the throne
When going for post-game achievements, use your Cleared save from your previous playthrough. Things like CGs (Memories) are stored per-save file, so you will need to use the same save to store your progress on these. Additionally, loading from a Cleared save will let you make some choices at the start that you couldn’t before, which have achievements tied to them.
From the Beginning Started the second loop. Load a save file that cleared the game.
Waterside Flower Garden Enjoyed the view of Emilia and the others in their swimsuits. It appears for this achievement that you need to see both the swimsuit events. You can see each one by choosing «Remember that one time» after loading a Cleared save and then later choosing «I know, I’ll invite Beako too!» or «Oh, I can’t wait!». but it seems as though you can only do this once per run of the story, meaning that you have to play through the story again just so you can choose the other option. This is because there doesn’t seem to be a way to go to a specific place in the flowchart. The two swimsuit choices are required for the memories achievement («Fond Memories»).
This will probably end up being the last achievement you get, as you will need to start again from your second Cleared save in order to make the choice you couldn’t do last time.
You Are Supposed to Pick Her, I Suppose! Spent time with Beatrice instead of heading to the royal capital.
Give Me Romance Spent time with Emilia instead of heading to the royal capital. Unlike with the swimsuit choice, you’re able to do the above two achievements in one run, as choosing one option will send you back to the start of «Strategic Tea Time», so you can just choose the other after.
After beating the game, load your Cleared save. When you get control of Subaru during the very first time («Strategic Tea Time») go to see Beatrice in the West Hallway.
This will send you on a different route, where you get the options «I want to get closer to Mili» or «I should repay Beako for her kindness».
Choose «I want to get closer to Mili» for «Give Me Romance» or «I should repay Beako for her kindness» for «You Are Supposed to Pick Her, I Suppose!».
1. Load a save file that has cleared the game. 2. Fetch the flower and give it to Rem 3. Go to the kitchen and get Ram’s Secret Stash.
4. Don’t go outside, instead go up the stairs on the left, then choose «I should repay Beako for her kindness». 5. After this story ends, you will be back at step 3. 6. You can now go outside and talk to Tiga. Once he leaves, choose «Make a suggestion to Roswaal». At the end of this story, you will unlock the achievement.

Fond Memories Unlocked all Memories in the Album. This is unlocked by gaining all the memories in the game. I’m not sure if you need to do everything on the flowchart or not. To complete the flowchart you basically need to Return By Death in each mission, but I don’t think these have any Memories tied to them. I would personally recommend doing it to be safe seeing as you will need to do 2 playthroughs anyway, but I think this achievement just requires you to have seen all the Memories/CGs. If someone knows for certain let me know!
I strongly recommend saving before starting any mission briefing, speaking to everyone, and Thinking as Subaru repeatedly until you have all the information.
The Worst Decision Chose «No. Never mind.» during a briefing.
When presented with two options when planning a mission, choose «No. Never mind» instead (by pressing the back button on your keyboard or controller).
Do You like Flowers? Checked the yellow flower.
During the first mission, go to the right and Check the flowers.
A Familiar Future Received a bag of silver from Anastasia beforehand. This achievement is earned during the mission where you need to help Anastasia escape Wolf («Drama in the Shopping District»). Before the mission, speak to everyone at least 3 times and make Subaru Think 3 times before speaking to Anastasia. Choose to run away from Wolf.
During the briefing, choose «Knock over wooden boxes and lumber». Then choose «There may be mercenaries in the tavern». Talk to the mercenary on the left side (by Checking the seats shown above), then talk to Anastasia to get Silver.
Now, fail the mission and Return By Death. When you next start the mission, go and speak to the mercenary again and you should get the achievement.
Still Unseen Hands Escaped from Petelgeuse without revealing his Unseen Hands. This achievement is earned during the mission where you need to help Rem fight the Witch’s Cult («Panic at the Royal Capital»). Talk to everyone 3 times and make Subaru Think 3 times before speaking to Petelgeuse.
During the mission briefing, choose «Call for reinforcements». Next, choose «Take the shortest path». Finally, choose «Attack from the right».
When the mission starts, check the appa stand in the north (shown above). This should give Subaru the item «Breaking through». Waste Subaru’s turns until Phase 8 after this, when Rem should reach Petelgeuse. Use «Breaking Through» on Rem and this should allow you to clear the mission without revealing Petelgeuse’s hands.
Ending Invited Didn’t find the cause of Rem’s uneasy feeling. Run around in circles to waste all of Subaru’s turns until you run out of phases when searching in the garden for Rem’s uneasy feeling («Search in Roswaal Manor»).
You Are Indeed Sloth. Ran out of time on a phase and failed a mission. I achieved this during the mission where you need to search for Rem’s uneasy feeling in the garden. Just run out of turns.
A Malevolent Jester Provoked Wolf and agitated him. This achievement is earned during the mission where Rem and Wolf fight in the Slums («Deadly Battle in the Slums»). Speak to the man to get all his information and then Think as Subaru until you have all his information, then speak to Rem until the mission briefing starts.
Choose «Don’t sacrifice more than necessary». This will allow Subaru to taunt Wolf. The other options shouldn’t affect the achievement, so choose whatever.
When the mission starts, talk to Wolf with Subaru where he will taunt him. This will give you the item «Struck a nerve». On the next turn, Use «Struck a nerve» on Wolf and this should give you the achievement.
A Sweet Treat Salum gave the girl some sweets. This achievement is earned during the mission where Subaru, Rem and Salum try to find the lost girl’s parents («Made a Girl Cry»). Speak to everyone but Salum and the girl 3 times and Think as Subaru 3 times to make sure you have all the information. After doing this, speak to Salum.
During the mission briefing, choose «Respect Salum’s opinion». Then choose «Keep an eye on the girl».
Do not speak to the girl at all during the mission, and don’t finish the mission before Phase 18. On Phase 18, Salum will give the girl some candy, which will award the achievement.
There Will Be No Next Time Nearly got found by guards and Sakura twice. This achievement is earned during the mission where Subaru, Rem and Felt sneak into the Church («Infiltrating the Transcendent Dragon Church»). Speak to everyone 3 times and make Subaru Think 3 times to make sure you have all the information before choosing to go to the Church.
During the mission briefing, choose «Knock objects over», and then choose «Sakura’s powers».
During the mission, continue with the mission as normal until you knock the boxes over. Once you have knocked the boxes over (like above), try to run into the knight twice. Thanks to the choices made in the briefing, you’re allowed two mistakes before being caught by the guards. The achievement should unlock after the second time running into the knight.
Finishing all the above achievements should award;
Truth Revealed Unlocked all achievements.

The series’s first three arcs have been adapted into separate manga series. The first, by Daichi Matsue, was published between June 2014 and March 2015. The second, by Makoto Fugetsu, has been published by Square Enix since October 2014. Matsue launched the third adaptation, also published by Media Factory, in May 2015. Additionally, Media Factory has published two anthology manga with stories by different artists. An anime television series adaptation by White Fox aired from April to September 2016, starting with an hour-long special. The first of two OVA based on the series was released in October 2018, and the second OVA was released in November 2019. In March 2017, game developer 5pb. released a visual novel based on the series. A second season aired in a split-cour format, with the first half airing from July to September 2020, and the second half airing from January to March 2021.
The novels and all three manga adaptations are published in North America by Yen Press. The anime adaptation has been licensed by Crunchyroll outside Asia, which released the anime on home video through Funimation in the United States and Anime Limited in the United Kingdom. In Southeast Asia and South Asia, the series is licensed by Muse Communication.
The light novels have sold more than 11 million copies, while the anime series has sold more than 70,000 copies on home video. The light novels have been praised for their fresh take on the «another world» concept, but have been criticized for awkward dialogue and redundancy. The series has been praised by critics for its fleshed-out characters, complex world and lore, and thought-provoking topics and themes. The series received awards at the 2015–2016 Newtype Anime Awards and the 2017 Sugoi Japan Awards, and was nominated for Anime of the Year at the 1st Crunchyroll Anime Awards.

Re zero starting life in another world the prophecy of the throne
For those who are less familiar, Re:Zero follows Subaru, an ex-shut in from modern-day Japan who was transported to another world. He was given a power called Return by Death, which forces him to return with his memories to an earlier ‘save point’. Unfortunately, Subaru cannot control whether to use this power or which save point he returns to. He cannot even tell anyone about his power, but he tries to use it to save himself and those close to him.
The visual novel’s story starts about a month after Subaru’s arrival in the world, just after Arlam village is saved. While there is a brief recap of events, I’d strongly suggest watching the Re:Zero anime or reading the light novel up to this point. Someone new to the series will be able to get by without it, but it’s definitely aimed at people who can dive right in.
As the story starts, you are reminded that the Kingdom of Lugunica has lost its king. Your companion Emilia is one of the five royal candidates foretold by prophecy to succeed the throne. But something unexpected has happened. The selection process to decide which candidate will be chosen has been postponed. Not only has the fifth candidate been found, but a sixth as well. They all appear to be valid, but the prophecy was clear that there would only be five.
The story has you spend time with the royal candidates and investigate what is happening with other problems happening at the same time. With attacks from mysterious strangers and political issues in the background, Subaru has to discover and reveal what is really happening. It’s a slow build up on what was previously learned and done, which leads to a rather big finale that ties everything together nicely. It took me ten hours in total to reach this point.
I should note here that editing quality was high for the most part. The occasional typo has slipped through. With that said, I am playing a pre-release version a couple of weeks before launch and patches have been ongoing. These may be reduced by release and they’re already very minor.
Looping
As would be expected by those familiar with Re:Zero, frequent deaths occur, and the story loops multiple times with Subaru returning to days previously experienced. Despite going over the same days, it speeds through a quick version of anything unchanged, rather than going through it again fully. This was a nice surprise, as some other visual novels with similar concepts just have you replay the same content or near enough.
It keeps things engaging as what you see is very different in each loop. Events change based on Subaru’s actions with the knowledge of what could have happened. It was particularly interesting to try and figure out why certain events did or didn’t happen due to the changes.
Another way it kept it interesting was that as part of the story you get to make connections and spend time with the other royal candidates and their team. It was nice to see a deeper dive into some of the other royal candidates than the anime provides. Different loops sometimes focused on different candidates too. They also had different reactions to you at times, since their relationship can be different in different loops and this is the first time that you have met many of them in this timeline.
Routes and Choices
After you clear the main story, there are a few bonus routes. These are all very short and give you a chance to spend time with some of the characters who don’t appear often in the story. One of them is just outright fanservice, focusing on a vacation and involves swimsuits.
There is one annoyance here for completionists. While there’s a flowchart to see where you can diverge into different routes and what choices are missing, there’s no option to do anything with it if you’ve passed that point. Unlike some visual novels, you cannot jump to certain points and the skipping functions are limited. Saving and loading does not keep overall completion either. This means multiple playthroughs might be needed to see some short scenes, just to go back a few minutes and choose a different choice.
Gameplay
This key information can be used in briefing sessions. These are events where you will discuss an upcoming battle or situation with other characters and make decisions on how to proceed. If you have the right information, it unlocks choices that can help in the situation and change how it unfolds.
Even when these are battles, these aren’t typical. You don’t actually fight anyone directly in most cases. You play as Subaru and move him around the area, interacting with objects and people to try and influence things. In one case you are helping someone retreat and knocking down boxes and moving carts to try and block the enemy. Another has you laying traps around. In a non-battle example, you are searching for clues and directing other characters on where to search. In all cases, these situations involve a movement gauge that runs down and ends your turn when empty. The enemy then has their chance to move.
Technical
There are no real technical issues that I’ve found, but I did find some unusual choices. Most notable were the keyboard controls on PC. These involve WASD for menus, tab to move between an item list, and backspace to close a menu. This is quite different from the standard for visual novels or games, but not a problem as such. I mostly played with a gamepad which I found more comfortable.
Another unusual choice was that many of the options need to be set in a configuration app external to the game. By default the game launched in a tiny window, so most PC players would want to adjust this on the first launch.
Presentation
The visual novel portions of the game are beautifully presented with a wide variety of animated sprites over backgrounds. Seeing them not only move their mouths when talking, but change position and occasionally make gestures like shrugging really helps to bring things to life. The CGs are also high quality too, though there are less than twenty of them, so they’re fairly limited.
I couldn’t say that I was a fan of the graphics of the gameplay portions. The models in particular don’t look great, lacking detail, and being in a super-deformed style. While this works sometimes, I didn’t feel that it turned out too well here. One boss in particular I actually laughed at when I saw the model. Luckily these sections are a minor portion of the game.
The audio is high-quality. They’ve brought in the original anime voice actors and included both the English and Japanese audio as options.
Sound balancing is occasionally an issue with a quieter voice than ideal compared to the music sometimes. In one section I found I couldn’t hear the voices over the background music, but generally, this wasn’t an issue. It can be adjusted in options too.

For another visual novel with gameplay, perhaps you’d like to take a look at Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen.

A Fake Royal Candidate
The game sees players taking the role of series protagonist Subaru Natsuki, a guy who has been teleported to a different world where he acquires a strange power he calls “Return by Death”, which takes him back in time before his demise. Keeping this ability a secret, Subaru works as a servant in the local lord Roswaal’s mansion along with the maid twins Rem and Ram who have strong magical powers. Among all the residents of the mansion, his most cherished friend is Emilia, a silvered-haired girl who happens to be one of the candidates to become the next ruler of the Kingdom of Lugunica. The story of The Prophecy of the Throne begins when everybody is getting ready for the royal selection, and, out of the blue, an emissary sent by the royal castle appears in Roswaal’s mansion to let them know that this selection has been postponed. As a consequence, Subaru decides to go to the royal capital to find out why.
Upon their arrival, Subaru and his friends discover that the Dragon Stone prophesizes that there should be five candidates from whom the council of wise men will choose, but there are six. The selection is thusly postponed while they ascertain the fake candidate. As Emilia is suspected to be a false priestess, Subaru investigates the truth of the fraudulent maiden to defend his friend, but other threats in the way lead to his death. Subaru’s death-defying ability gives him the opportunity to retry the loop of days following the emissary’s appearance, and he tries to change events to prevent unfortunate outcomes. Retaining all the information from previous lives, he unravels the mystery about the sixth candidate little by little. The game provides an interesting and engaging story, and the supervision of Tappei Nagatsuki, the author of the series, has clearly aided its narrative.
Out of the six candidates, who looks more suspicious?
The intriguing story is matched by some characters new to the Re:ZERO series, such as Melty, a nun loyal to the Transcendent Dragon Church who is one of the six candidates; Tiga, a young knight designated to protect Melty and who gets along very well with Subaru; and Wolf, a masked assassin who changes masks depending on his emotions and whose intentions towards the royal candidates are unclear. Every new acquaintance has a well-thought-out background and an important role in the story. With original series artist Shinichirou Otsuka providing the designs, they fit right in with the existing cast and make interesting additions for fans.
After a promising set of elements related to the story and the characters, the first weak spot of the game emerges. The main concept is that players gather information to solve the mystery, and playing detective undoubtedly sounds fun. If one were to think about solving a mystery, one may imagine exploring, questioning people, or sneaking into places, but The Prophecy of the Throne has other plans for this feature. The story progresses mainly through conversations that come one after another, but the player has almost no influence in them nor the freedom to choose who to talk to, becoming more of a spectator than an active part of the investigation. Moreover, these dialogues make up a large majority of the game, so there is little time where the player provides meaningful input. The lack of players’ impactful choices renders the game a bit boring and unfulfilling.

There are a few moments of exploration taking place in 3D environments, with players controlling Subaru. Exploration is very limited because it usually consists of a “go and talk to X” formula, preventing the player from going to other places or interacting with many characters. There are glimpses of the world map a couple of times, but the moment to explore it freely never arrives. Even a small veneer of choice over events to witness, people to speak to, or places to go would have made for a more engaging experience.
The artwork and the soundscape are two aspects that may attract players. The game is fully voiced, and it features the same cast that gives voice to the characters in the anime series. The only language available for this review was Japanese, but the game will also have an English version as a day one patch that should be notable as well. Visuals follow the style of the manga and anime series and are really inviting. Every character has a set of different movements and poses that are shown when they are speaking. Unfortunately, the big-headed 3D versions of the characters used in missions and times of exploration don’t look nearly as good as 2D character portraits.

Forgot to mention, it has to be on the launch menu options before you load a save, once you load a save you only have the options to adjust audio levels

Why would anyone do that is beyond me. There’s nth worse than ENG dubbed japanese anime characters with voices which doesn’t match at all.

Preference? WTF are you talking about? If you use the dub, you literally playing completely different game with completely different characters. You can’t damage the characterization and personalities more than dubbing it. Dubbing is the most braindead option to consume foreign media and that’s Tha fact, not preference. Dubs has nothing to do with original creators and they are always fake and inferior to original.

Тут есть главное – увлекательная история в тех же декорациях, но дополняющая оригинальную, новые сцены, подробности и интересные персонажи от авторов первоисточника. И всё это – на уровне аниме-сериала.

Прошел месяц после того, как Субару Нацуки начал новую жизнь в том мире, в котором оказался. Теперь его жизнь куда более яркая и интересная, и, казалось бы. все плохое уже давно закончилось. Но не тут-то было. Пришла ужасная новость. Посланный королевским замком эмиссар доложил, что отбор отложен, а после этого и вовсе Драконий Камень предсказал, что выбрано будет только пять кандидатов, а не шесть, и что один из кандидатов является самозванцем. Естественно, Субару не смог сидеть на месте и был вынужден отправиться в новое путешествие…
Кто является самозванцем, и кто крутит интриги в королевском замке? Кто стоит за всеми убийствами, предательствами и тайнами, что снова портят атмосферу в замке? И как вообще со всем этим связано прибытие в этот мир главного героя? Вот вам и нужно будет найти ответы на эти вопросы. Но не думайте, что будет легко…

Что касается игрового процесса, так его здесь условно можно поделить на несколько частей. С одной стороны, тут вам полноценная тактическая игра, в которой вам придется заниматься прокачкой характеристик, принимать разные решения, и делать многое другое. С другой стороны, здесь вам еще и визуальная новелла, с кучами диалогов, интересными персонажами, и многочисленными заставками. А еще тут вас будет ждать и огромный мир, исследование его просторов, и не только.

Riot Pixels — новый проект от авторов Absolute Games, одного из крупнейших игровых порталов России. И не просто новый, а куда более амбициозный. Мы создаем лучший в мире, мультиязычный, пополняемый редакцией и пользователями игровой контентно-сервисный сайт. В настоящий момент вы смотрите на очень раннюю альфа-версию, в которой реализовано 10% от запланированного функционала и малая толика поддерживаемых языков.

Учитывая, сколько агрессивной рекламы можно встретить на различных сайтах, это, возможно, и оправданно.

Having played this game to the end, I can say that the confidence in this case was warranted. Prophecy of the Throne tells a compelling story that satisfied me greatly as a Re:Zero fan. It has everything I like about the original series: An intriguing mystery, fun characters, entertaining dialogue, and clever foreshadowing.
Furthermore, despite featuring a flowchart and the promise of branching paths, Prophecy of the Throne is for the most part a very linear game. Subaru’s Return By Death powers serve a very limited role; if Subaru dies during a mission, he will go back to the start of it with his memories intact. This alters some of the dialogue during the mission segments but nothing beyond that. All of his other deaths in the narrative are scripted and non-interactive, which I found to be a wasted opportunity for a video game. (It’s also a bit nonsensical from a storytelling perspective; dying in a mission will send Subaru to the start of the mission, but then if he dies later for a scripted reason, he’ll often get sent further back in time. This is never commented upon.)
The production values are also rather modest. The sprites drawn by Shinichirou Otsuka are appealing, but the Live2D animation looks cheap and awkward. I did get used to it eventually, but in some ways I think I would have preferred static images with a broader range of facial expressions. As for the mission segments, they make use of cute, super-deformed 3D models, but they move around with such limited animation that they seem like little more than wooden puppets in motion. Certain moments of classic Re:Zero violence lack the punch they could have had due to the visual limitations.
There are other little things that detracted from the experience. I can’t comment on the English dub because I played the game before the Day One patch, but the sound mixing in the Japanese audio is a bit off, with some characters sounding much quieter than others. (Crusch is particularly susceptible to this.) Also, the English localization, while solid overall, has some typos here and there. It should also be noted that the localization follows the same conventions as the anime’s English dub, so Subaru’s nickname for Emilia is «Mili» rather than «Emilia-tan.» That is a minor issue in the scheme of things, but if you’re attached to the translations from the subtitled versions and the novels, then it might take some getting used to.
Still, if you’re a Re:Zero fan and enjoy reading visual novels, Prophecy of the Throne is a very solid game. As with many great visual novels, the writing is good enough to carry it on its own. I enjoyed this as an alternate take on the Royal Selection arc and as an entertaining mystery adventure in its own right. It’s not a terribly long game – it took me around thirteen hours to finish it – but Re:Zero fans will not regret the purchase.

Чаще всего тут надо читать тексты в объемных количествах, и иногда совершать выбор. Диалоги озвучены (можно выбрать английский или японский язык, причем голоса принадлежат актерам, принимавшим участие в аниме-сериале «Жизнь с нуля в альтернативном мире»). В перерывах между беседами «попаданцу» позволяют гулять по городу и участвовать с ивентах. Они наполовину пошаговые. Можно свободно перемещаться по полю в режиме реального времени. После совершения всех необходимых действий ход передается команде соперника. Врагами и союзниками управляет ИИ. Юзерам разрешают контролировать только протагониста.
