Train Life officially launched yesterday after a challenging and exciting period of Early Access.

We are aware that the game’s launch has brought some new issues, and we want to assure you that we are currently working on resolving them through a series of fixes as soon as possible.

Engineers! The time is nigh, Train Life 1.0 is here and it’s time to talk about what you can expect today patch while playing the game. Before we get into that, I would like to welcome all new and returning players back to the game. As for those veterens who have stuck around for the entirety of Early Access, you guys are the real MVP’s! Lets dive right in ladies and gentleman!

Before we end here, I wanted to share a few words (it’s actually a lot, but Joey is a little softy when it comes to these things) a word from our Lead Game Designer:

«It’s a tremendously exciting day for game developers to release their game, which is usually the culmination of many years of challenging work. The Early Access journey has been a long one, yet it’s time to pull into the station. Gather your luggage and embark on a new journey: the official Release!

Hello Engineers, your community manager Mike is here! Joey is still recovering from his vacation and is lazily sitting in his home-made hammock wondering, what I am going to write in these patch notes. It’s been a while since we launched Update 3 and while it was a success, we noticed that the community encountered some pretty strange issues which, we can address right now. So with that out of the way, lets dive right in.

We’re here to listen, and fix them! You’re all, as always, invited to join our Discord Server [discord.gg] and chat with us directly! It’s a great way to get more immediate feedback, or just watch me get banned for posting memes in general.

With that in mind, let’s get into it!

Placing sound effects in a game seems like an easy task. The Sound Designer puts them as fixed-point sound sources on the levels and sound effects play when triggered (either once or until they are stopped). But it is a challenge when we have to face a huge map like Train Life has.

One of the first problems we encountered was the density of sound sources. In places where we wanted players to hear the constant sound (like forest ambiance), it was hard to decide how far the sources should be from each other, both in audial and optimization cases.

Luckily, we came up with a tool to place sounds in special areas that can be modified by desginers.

Once a player enters the area, the sound source glues itself to the player and follows them. After leaving the area, the source still follows the player but is limited to the area’s border. This allowed us to easily create ambient sounds in huge spaces (like forests, cities, or plains), as well as in smaller places (like industries).

We developed a variation of this tool for randomized sounds that play once per time, like birds or sirens.

The method of placing this tool is the same as for the previous one, but it works differently. It randomizes a location of where the sound should be played (whether on the border of the area or inside it) and designers can specify min-max values of how often the sounds should be spawned.

But that’s not all. You must have noticed that when you enter tunnels or bridges, sound changes a bit. We add reverb specific to those places or, in the case of tunnels, we mute some of the sounds.

When implementing those effects, the sound designer’s first thought might be placing collision boxes, triggering the effects on entering and removing on exiting. However, the change would be immediate, and we didn’t want it in Train Life.

That’s why we created a special kind of collision box that changes the strength of the effect based on where you are in the collision box. Thanks to that, the effect is not independent of the trains’ velocity.

Although those tools speed up the process significantly, it still takes a lot of time to place them. They make it easier to see what type of sound is where and what sound line or zone needs to be adjusted if a level changed, but an empty level, especially a detailed one, needs days to be considered completed. Nevertheless, they allow us to quickly create soundscapes in big areas, giving a solid background for places that need more detail.

Hey everyone, Joey here! It’s been far too long since we had the pleasure of bringing you the latest batch of fixes. First and foremost, we’re really sorry about the extended delay here. As we’re nearing larger milestones internally with the project, we recently had some goals that required ‘all hands on deck’, so to speak. Unfortunately, however, this had the consequence of delaying our PC patch that we had planned to have out much sooner.

On the bright side, the scope of these internal milestones, which I sadly can’t talk about just yet, resulted in many bug fixes as well as performance improvements. I can hint that they will lead to some really exciting bits of news in the near future though! As we start to shift from content development to polishing, a more stable and finished product will thankfully emerge from the other end. It’s too soon to pour the whiskey just yet, but we can see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Patch #19 | FULL RELEASE + DAY 1 PATCH
Engineers! The time is nigh, Train Life 1.0 is here and it’s time to talk about what you can expect today patch while playing the game. Before we get into that, I would like to welcome all new and returning players back to the game. As for those veterens who have stuck around for the entirety of Early Access, you guys are the real MVP’s! Lets dive right in ladies and gentleman!

To change the engine colour, you need to open up the company details tab in the Tablet and select Change company Colors.

Once selected, just use the back button to set the changes.

A: With the finalisation of our career customisation system, it will be very easy to manage careers as well as changing/modifying the difficulty of in-progress careers. Until now saves were stored in game’s folder at Steam\steamapps\common\TrainLife\Saved\SaveGames. Hencefoth all save files will find a new home at this location: Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\TrainLife\Saved\SaveGames Deleting these saves files you do so at your own risk.

A: The Route Planner is used to specifically determine the stations you, the player, would like to visit for performing Passenger and Postage tasks. The regular map does not have any logical connection between the game modes, and functions as expected, with way-points and station information. We do have plans to simplify this in the future.

A: You unlock your first Employee Driver slot after reaching the first level, with more unlocking as you continue to level up. With the slot unlocked, you can hire an Employee and assign them a locomotive. At the start, this will require you to own more than one locomotive, so purchasing an additional one at a Service Centre will be necessary.

A: Absolutely! When adding wagons to your train, forego adding any passenger wagons. You can then travel to City Warehouses and perform Postage deliveries just as you would perform Passenger deliveries.

A: Contracts are timed, and specific, requests between two cargo stations. You will be required to take a certain number of wagons to a predetermined destination, and within a certain time frame. Being faster than that time will result in a bonus multiplier for your reward, while being slower will result in a penalty multiplier.

A: Deliveries are non-timed and ‘free’ transportation options, allowing you to take any number of wagons from a station to any other station that accepts that good. Rewards are still calculated exponentially based on distance but are not subject to the timed aspects of contracts.

A: We consider these deliveries, though the logic of Passenger and Postage ‘deliveries’ differ from that of Cargo. While Passengers and Postage have explicit destination desires and time requirements, like that of contracts, but because the player can freely set up their route, we find it more respectful to think of people and postage as ‘deliveries’ rather than ‘contracts’.

A: All current keyboard shortcuts will be in the game’s escape menu in the future.

A: Input remapping will be available in a future update!

A: This is something we would like to explore further in the future but have no plans for it now. Our core focus is to fix and finish the game, and we believe only then will we have customers who desire post-launch support and features.

A: Currently no, but it’s something that we are looking towards.

A: The Employee will wait up to 5 real-time minutes to deliver as many wagons as possible, allowing other Employees or you, the player, to free up space in the station’s storage without anything going to waste.

If enough space is made free, or at the end of the 5 minutes, all extra wagons on the Employee’s train are removed and that part of the task is finished.

A: Due to licensing issues, the developers are only allowed to use them within Germany’s borders.

The issue is that the program cannot load data to drives fast enough, if driving at a speed over a certain amount, and the world scale would make it very difficult to read the games signs/signaling system at those speeds.

Assign Perks for energy first, then distance, then intermediate stops and they will work longer, travel further and can call at more stops on the way. Of course you can also pile the perks on the amount of money cut, that you get from their takings, if you need to make a quick Euro or two, to purchase more trains.

If you pass a station/Industry on a bypass line, this will also now automatically unlock that location as well. Make sure the Saving game notice pops up before leaving the game as it will not save the unlock.

Look for a red and white cell phone tower, as most are located next to a service centre.

The maximum is set at 12 for this game, as any more then that, would entail problems navigating yards, stations and service centres.

Scenarios are bespoke routes within Trainlife and are timed and include penalties, so be careful out there, on the tracks,
These scenarios are available from the Startup Menu.
When you start a scenario, you will be placed at the starting station.

Train Life: A Railway Simulator – это аркадный железнодорожный симулятор. В нём есть смена дня и ночи. Погода тоже меняется. На фоне других представителей жанра он выделяется двумя особенностями. Во-первых, у него низкий порог вхождения. А для новичков есть обучение с объяснением основных механик. Во-вторых, данный тайтл позволяет не только управлять поездами. Благодаря наличию элементов экономической стратегии геймер может руководить транспортной компанией. Причем игрок сам решает, чем будет заниматься его фирма. Можно перевозить пассажиров или различные грузы. Присутствует возможность прокачивать города для появления разных производственных цепочек и увеличения числа контрактов.

В Train Life: A Railway Simulator есть система прокачки в духе RPG. За развоз людей или грузоперевозки начисляют опыт. При повышении уровня выдаются очки на улучшение характеристик и открываются дополнительные возможности, вроде найма сотрудников. Также юзер постепенно получает доступ к новой технике. В инди-проекте есть десяток локомотивов. Среди них есть дизельные и электрические модели. Покататься на них можно по железным дорогам Европы. На карте расположены Франция, Германия, Бельгия и другие страны. Пользователь сам составляет маршрут для своего персонажа и нанятых машинистов. Если он или его подопечные будут нарушать правила движения, то владельца бизнеса оштрафуют. Ещё тут нужно ремонтировать и покупать поезда, а также присоединять к ним различные вагоны. Во время управления транспортом необходимо самостоятельно переключать путевые стрелки, вручную открывать или закрывать двери и так далее.

Для Train Life: A Railway Simulator вышло третье крупное обновление в раннем доступе

Спустя 8 месяцев после запуска раннего доступа студия Simteract выпустила новое обновления для железнодорожного симулятора Train Life: A Railway Simulator добавляет больше контента и новых функций в ожидании окончательного запуска игры, который теперь запланирован на июль 2022 года на ПК и вскоре после этого на консолях.

Обновление добавит новый локомотив Newag Griffin. Эта серия транспортных средств, которые перевозят как пассажиров, так и грузы со скоростью до 200 км/ч, впервые была произведена в Польше в 2012 году.

Поезда. Уверен, многие из вас любят путешествовать на этом виде транспорта. Приятное покачивание вагона, мягкий и ритмичный стук колес на стыках рельс, горячий чай в железном подстаканнике, который только-только принес проводник, и бесконечные беседы с попутчиками обо всем на свете.

Но задумывались ли вы, а как там дела у машиниста огромного состава, чем он занят, все ли в порядке? Симулятор Train Life: A Railway Simulator, разработанный студией Simteract и выпускаемый компанией Nacon, подробно вам расскажет о том, каково это быть не только машинистом, но и руководителем большой железнодорожной компании.

Но до богатого магната, управляющего огромной империей, еще далеко. А пока вы — молодой (или пожилой, возраст вашего героя вы можете выбрать в настройках в начале игры) машинист, который стоит рядом с депо и познает азы управления неповоротливой многотонной стальной машиной.

Курс молодого машиниста

Да, обучение обязательно нужно пройти, иначе вы обречены на множество ошибок в начале игры, которые могут стоить вам не только денег, но и локомотива. А на покупку нового нужна солидная сумма, которой на старте у вас, естественно, нет. Мало того, не понимая многих нюансов, вы рискуете сломать ваш тягач еще до прибытия на какую-нибудь отдаленную станцию. Так что внимательно читаем подсказки и тщательно повторяем то, чему нас учат.

Управление вначале может показаться запутанным. Игра задействует немало кнопок для той или иной функции, и это только новичку кажется, что достаточно нажимать “газ” и “тормоз”, и все будет в порядке. Это не так. Машинисту необходимо следить за множеством переменных и вовремя и адекватно реагировать на ситуацию. Например, нельзя сразу добавить максимум мощности на двигатель, иначе колеса начнут буксовать по рельсам, что приведет к их быстрому износу. Подавайте мощность плавно, разгоняя локомотив постепенно, мягко. Вам некуда торопиться, это не гонки.

Также нельзя часто пользоваться экстренным тормозом. Он ведь не просто так называется “экстренный”. Регулярно срывая “стоп-кран”, вы также быстро приведете вашу машину к поломке и придется платить за дорогостоящий ремонт. Торможение необходимо проводить так же плавно, как и разгон. Мягко, не торопясь. Поверьте, пассажиры будут вам очень благодарны за заботу!

Научились разгоняться и останавливаться? Отлично! Впереди уроки маневров. Да, маневров на рельсах. Ведь колея периодически пересекается с другой через узлы, и вам необходимо будет часто ее менять, чтобы прибыть на нужную станцию или объехать сломавшийся в пути состав, к примеру. Инструктор расскажет о сигналах семафора, о переключении ветки и таком прочем. Нет, это не сложно, если рассматривать как отдельную задачу. Но в динамике управления составом вы можете забыть нажать кнопку переключения, и весь состав пойдет не по тому пути. Вам придется его тормозить, давать задний ход и возвращаться на правильную колею, теряя время, топливо и “запас прочности” вашего локомотива.

И финальным уроком станет обучение погрузки \ разгрузки грузов за грузовой состав, и пассажиров за пассажирский поезд. Поздравляем, вы прошли обучение и теперь можете сами решать, чем хотите заниматься.

Легко ли работать машинистом?

Главная задача в Train Life: A Railway Simulator — разбогатеть и расширить вашу железнодорожную империю по всей планете. Дело это не быстрое, даже очень не быстрое, ведь мы играем не в аркаду, а в симулятор. К примеру, один маршрут из города А в город Б может занимать несколько часов реального времени, а телепортирования в игре не предусмотрено. Так что настройтесь на спокойный ритм, можете включить параллельно какой-нибудь сериал, и вперед!

Для начала, решите, чем будете заниматься сразу: грузовыми перевозками или доставкой пассажиров. Я лично выбрал грузы, и отправился на поиски первого заказа. Но не тут-то было! Ближайшие станции отказывались от моих услуг, работы у них не было. И это в Германии! Ладно, думаю я, отправимся подальше, возможно, там мне повезет. Как уже было сказано ранее, переезд между станциями — дело не быстрое. И за это время на путях может случиться разное. И за каждый ваш проступок невидимая рука закона вас штрафует! Сильно превысили скорость? Штраф. Забыли включить ходовые огни вечером? Штраф. Загляделись на приборы и не дали вовремя звуковой сигнал, чтобы спугнуть оленя, сидевшего на путях? Да, тоже штраф. Вокруг глухомань, сплошные леса, никого на километры вокруг, но система все видит и исправно вас штрафует. Так что по приезду в соседний округ мой кошелек, который и так был не особо пухлым, сильно похудел. А если будете совсем неадекватно себя вести на путях, то станция заблокирует доступ к своим сервисам. А это чревато последствиями.

К слову, о доступах. Всегда помните, что без запроса вас не станет обслуживать ни одно депо. Если вы не запросили разрешения и не получили согласие, вам не взять заказ, даже если на станции есть контракты на поставку. Да, этому обучают в туториале, но, признаться, информации на старте на вас вываливается довольно много, и ничего удивительного, что вы что-то можете забыть. Ничего, практика напомнит. Не повторяйте моих ошибок, всегда заранее связывайтесь по радио со станциями и запрашивайте разрешение на посещение. Иначе будете вынуждены возвращаться до чек-поинта, тратя горючее и время.

Для ориентации в пространстве у вас есть карта и GPS-трекер. И вот к трекеру есть определенные претензии. Дело в том, что он не очень удобен. К примеру, когда вы мчитесь к месту назначения, он просто показывает вам жирной полосой маршрут, не вдаваясь в детали. А еще он всегда находится в статичном положении, хотя было бы здорово, если бы ему добавили функцию автоматического поворота в соответствии с положением вашего состава. Таким образом, вы бы всегда легко определяли, на какую ветку необходимо переключиться (лево или право), не путаясь. Да и цветовые сигналы семафора было бы здорово дублировать на нем. Надеюсь, что разработчики добавят такой функционал.

Но как бы то ни было, вы доставляете первый груз до точки назначения и получаете заслуженный гонорар. Мои поздравления! Еще несколько десяток подобных ходок, и придет время задумываться о расширении.

Становимся железнодорожным магнатом

Помимо работы машинистом, вы также являетесь владельцем железнодорожной компании. Чтобы зарабатывать деньги и развивать свою финансовую империю, вам необходимо заключать контракты с различными станциями, которые разбросаны по всей Европе. Успешно выполняя контракты на поставки ресурсов, вы, помимо денег, получаете баллы для вашей компании.

Деньги, которые вы зарабатываете, можно инвестировать в улучшение ваших локомотивов, покупку новых составов и расширение штата для компании, чтобы зарабатывать еще больше денег. А если вы будете выполнять контракты в границах одного региона, то центральный город получит различные улучшения, что предоставит вам больше бонусов.

Визуальная, техническая и аудио составляющие игры

К примеру, на моей RTX 3060 TI я периодически наблюдаю солидные просадки по FPS, что выражается дерганьями и тормозами на экране. Подобное немного огорчает, и хотелось бы, чтобы разработчики уделили больше внимания оптимизации игры.

А вот что радует, так это графика. Природа, закаты, ночное небо, модели поездов — все выглядит очень здорово и приятно. В поездке я постоянно включал камеру от первого лица и наслаждался пейзажами Западной и Восточной Европы.

Но когда подъезжаешь к городу, впечатление смазывается. Видно, что разработчики пока что недостаточно уделили внимания разработке городов, они выглядят безжизненно и пусто. Да, вы увидите модельки машин, едущих по трассе, или пассажиров, стоящих на станциях, но эти модельки бедные, больше для галочки. Очень надеюсь, что и этому аспекту разработчики уделят внимание в ближайших обновлениях.

А вот что шикарно передано без всяких “но”, так это звуки! Ночные сверчки, стук колес, ветер, дождь, даже крики глупых оленей звучат очень натурально. А еще в игре есть радио, правда, играет там какая-то махровая попса, не всякому такая музыка придется по душе. Но сам факт его наличия — это здорово!

Train Life: A Railway Simulator находится в раннем доступе. Но то, что уже есть в игре, выглядит отлично. У игры огромный потенциал. И я лично с нетерпением жду обновления, в котором разработчики добавят конкурентов под управлением ИИ (а может даже полноценный кооператив? Кто знает). Все-таки, ездить одному, зная, что нет конкуренции, уж слишком расслабляет.

Если вы ищете игру-медитацию, спокойную и плавную, то Train Life: A Railway Simulator отлично подойдет вам. А учитывая ее низкую стоимость, то я не вижу ни одной причины, по которой вы можете отказаться приобрести эту игру, если любите симуляторы.

A realistic and authentic simulation
Train Life involves demanding gameplay based on real-world behavior. You have to respect the rail signals and driving instructions, adapt for rail switches, and manage speed. Make sure you keep an eye on braking distance when you pull into the station and open and close the doors for your passengers. There are also unforeseen situations to manage, such as fallen trees, stalled cars, and trains rolling on your track.
The dynamic weather and day/night cycle mean you have to adapt the way you drive to avoid accidents and damage to the tracks.

When navigating through radio menu using a controller, the button on Dpad conflicts with toggling reverse? Everytime I use radio menu, my train slows down and finally goes reverse.

Also, would like an option to swap the control scheme to TSW-like control, just because it is SO hard to change once you get used to it

I was stuck on the tutorial part asking to press Q to switch tracks to go right. When pressing Q, nothing happened, did I miss something maybe?

When i press F on the Vossloh G6 to enter, nothing happens

You are able to change the language of the game in the settings in the main menu and while in the game as well. As for the rest, I am relaying the info back to the Dev’s. If you have any more information, please get back to me or join or Discord channel and give some more feedback:

In the tutorial texts the messages aren´t complete. I play with a XBox Controller. The messages show «None A to enter it». I don´t know what I should enter.

We are aware of this issue and there will be a hotfix later this evening. We are working on it!

А если серьезно, то я пока что только прохожу обучение и уже заметил некоторые баги/недочёты, а именно:
1) Часть озвучки ( в субтитрах ) так и осталась на языке оригинала,
2) В моментах, где надо в депо развернуть поезд, чтобы ехать дальше, необходимая панель закрыта диалоговым окном.
3) Некоторые pick-up`ы необходимые для дальнейшего прохождения обучения не работают, как в моменте с доставкой брёвен.
4) В Вид камеры из кабины, постоянно лезет бошка гг.

Плюсы тоже есть, просто писать о них лень. Так что купить рекомендую, надеюсь пофиксят данные мелочи 🙂

My biggest complaint is bugs being everywhere.
— Broken and confusing speed signs (freaking day 1 bug)
— Always inverted camera Y axis
— Untranslated text (into Chinese)
— Unfair fine (fine me for not using horns 3 times in a row while I clearly used them)
— Confusing GPS route planner
— The analog dashboard of ICE 3 is static, speed always pointing to 0
— Grass overgrowing the tracks
— Performance crisis
just to name a few

The game is relaxing yes, but considering the bugs, I would rather play TSW2 or ETS2 instead

This game is far from ready for «Full release» in my opinion. The game concept is great but there should be much more here before calling it version 1.0.

Tutorial overload, you spend over an hour playing through them learning the game, all in a row. That’s too much learning with too little fun inbetween. They are skippable, but how would i know what i miss if i don’t play them?

The trains don’t «feel» real when driving around. The sound and visuals make it feel like it’s a heavy box set on rails, not a big heavy train riding on train tracks.

The menus are also unneccesarily convoluted. Why is «employee management» under World map?
Why are trains sorted alphabetically when buying by default, especially in the beginning when 99% are level-locked. Sorting by unlock level or showing all unlocked first would make so much more sense.

If this was still an early access game i would hold back judgement and wait for them to make these things good. But they say it’s full release now and i gave it a chance. Turns out this was too early.

I’ll check this game again in a few months and see if it’s still in the same state then.

Great gameplay options. Looks good. But really let down by a really strange and over complicated signalling and speed restriction system. I sat a red, (after having to emergency brake at it as there was little warning) while an AI train went down a branch that wasn’t anywhere near conflicting my path at all. The AI train then stopped, I assume at a station/delivery point, and because it was within 1000m of me, my signal never changed. I waited. waited some more. the AI train never moved, my signal never cleared even though I knew my path would be clear! I left it for a wile, came back. still nothing happening so I quit.

The utilisation of the signalling and AI trains. or lack of it. is a real game breaker I’m afraid. Surely it’s simple enough just to have occupied blocks with yellow, red and green signals? And why do speed reductions need signals when a simple warning sign or notice will do? And blue as a proceed signal? That is a bit odd.

A real shame as it really spoils a game that could have amazing potential.

This game is awesome concept could be the best train game but it is a long way from that.
It was full release but i have feeling it is just excuse to start on DLC-s.
I like game but this is a few reasons why i would not recommend for any one that like trains.

GPS:
It is confusing as f. it would help a lot if you can see tracks not just one or two fat lines.
And fore some reason all train games developers have a feeling train operator should switch millions switches per minute.
Railroad systems have lots of employs doing this and it will make sance in free drive mode, but if you make GPS route that should be made automatic and will even fix stupid speed limits confusing

COASTING:
Exist only in tutorial and even there is bad. It is throttle up or train will brake (even going down the hill), what make no sance in case with 10 wagons.

SPEED LIMITS:
Just like GPS it is confusing as f. specially when you need to switch tracks like crazy.

TUTORIAL:
Is nicely done but broken and i need to skip 3 steps of it.

WHEELS SLIP:
It is a joke and have no effect in the driving itself, funny when you drive 100 km/h put throttle from 0% to 20% and wheel slip light came on.

FINES:
You will get wines for not honk at railway crossing or at dear this is just stupid.

I know this is not a TS or TSW but some things just need to be followed and for some reason every train developer forget that trains do not have rubber tires.
Developers says that they want game that is not just for hardcore sim players, well that point they miss by a mile. But if they thing game is for full arcade players want to think wtf is going on while trying to find the way true massive rail yard they are spot on.

For now i can not recommend this game to anyone.
If you like trains and want train game just go play TSW belive me it is more easy game that this on and if you like company idea just go play ETS.

I really hope this game will be done great, i wait for release and now i just feel i did trow away 16€
And like the way this is going i have a strong felling that game will be abanded with some DLC-s trying to milk as much is possible with as little of work. Well we will see some fixes and some miner or bigger updates but the physics will probably never be fixed.

В прошлом году издательство Nacon представило свой новый бренд LIFE Simulators, под которым выйдут сразу пять так называемых «симуляторов работы». Среди них фигурировала и Train Life: A Railway Simulator от студии Simteract.

Польские разработчики позиционируют свое творение как симулятор, способный удовлетворить нужды не только хардкорных игроков, но и более казуальной аудитории. И это четко прослеживается в Train Life.

После прохождения обучения, в котором рассказывают про основные механики, новоиспеченного машиниста выбрасывают на огромную карту Европы. При желании на поезде можно проехать от Лондона до Гливице. Главное, не забывайте про топливо.

Основной геймплейный луп традиционен для «симуляторов дальнобойщиков». Машинист должен запрашивать на нужной станции контракт на доставку груза, чтобы затем его забрать и доставить в нужную точку. Осложняет задачу то, что необходимо ориентироваться в переплетении путей, правильно выбирать на стрелках нужный маршрут и так далее.

Кроме того, важно регулировать скорость движения. Если ехать слишком резво, игрок рискует отправить поезд под откос и получить крупный штраф.

Наказывают в игре также за превышение скорости, столкновения с другими поездами, заезд на станцию без уведомления диспетчера и так далее. Дополнительно необходимо отпугивать животных, которые могут выскочить на пути.

Никуда не делись и повреждения. Если постоянно использовать аварийный тормоз, то колесные пары быстро изнашиваются.

В игре доступны и сервисные центры, в которых можно починить поезд, залить топливо, забрать нужные вагоны, приобрести новые поезда или улучшения. А если у игрока нет желания перевозить грузы, то разрешается сфокусирвоаться на пассажирских перевозках.

Впрочем, основной задачей все же является развитие собственной компании. Предстоит закупать поезда и нанимать помощников, которые будут выполнять контракты, тем самым генерируя доход.

Большой акцент сделан на проработке поездов и окружения. В Train Life доступен вид от первого лица и проработанные кабины с интерактивными элементами управления. Но разобраться в управлении может даже новичок, ибо используется буквально несколько кнопок, а часть элементов управления сгруппирована в радиальное меню.

Train Life базируется на графическом движке Unreal Engine 4. Хотя у разработчиков и не было огромных бюджетов уровня ААА-издательств, выглядит проект довольно приятно. Игра радует живописными пейзажами и плотной застройкой городов. При желании можно найти местные достопримечательности вроде соборов Праги или Центрального вокзала Кельна.

А чтобы игрок не заскучал, Simteract добавила в игру радио, причем выбор музыки оказался довольно интересным. Так, на местной попсовой станции можно услышать Gorillaz и Post Malone. Кроме того, разработчики акупили запись эфира реальных радиостанций, поэтому во время какой-нибудь поездки из Берлина в Брно можно послушать про протесты антиваксеров в США или старую постановку про судебные дела. Отдельная радиостанция вообще сфокусирована на соуле.

Благодаря этому игра неплохо так расслабляет, вводя в состояние медитации. Разработчики это явно понимали, поэтому они также предложили режим испытаний.

Игрок просто выбирает нужный контракт и старается успеть добраться до места назначения в указанные временные рамки. Более того, игра в этом режиме ограничивает альтернативные маршруты, чтобы игрок не уехал не в то место.

Сейчас Train Life находится в «раннем доступе» на площадке Steam, однако разработчики постоянно обновляют свое творение за счет новых контрактов и доработок окружения. Впрочем, уже сейчас игра обладает отличным «залипательным» эффектом, предлагая расслабиться и просто наслаждаться путешествием.

Joey is still recovering from his vacation and is lazily sitting in his home-made hammock wondering, what I am going to write in these patch notes. It’s been a while since we launched Update 3 and while it was a success, we noticed that the community encountered some pretty strange issues which, we can address right now. So with that out of the way, lets dive right in. We’re here to listen, and fix them! You’re all, as always, invited to join our Discord Server [discord.gg] and chat with us directly! It’s a great way to get more immediate feedback, or just watch me get banned for posting memes in general. With that in mind, let’s get into it! Placing sound effects in a game seems like an easy task. The Sound Designer puts them as fixed-point sound sources on the levels and sound effects play when triggered (either once or until they are stopped). But it is a challenge when we have to face a huge map like Train Life has. One of the first problems we encountered was the density of sound sources. In places where we wanted players to hear the constant sound (like forest ambiance), it was hard to decide how far the sources should be from each other, both in audial and optimization cases. Luckily, we came up with a tool to place sounds in special areas that can be modified by desginers. Once a player enters the area, the sound source glues itself to the player and follows them. After leaving the area, the source still follows the player but is limited to the area’s border. This allowed us to easily create ambient sounds in huge spaces (like forests, cities, or plains), as well as in smaller places (like industries). We developed a variation of this tool for randomized sounds that play once per time, like birds or sirens. The method of placing this tool is the same as for the previous one, but it works differently. It randomizes a location of where the sound should be played (whether on the border of the area or inside it) and designers can specify min-max values of how often the sounds should be spawned. But that’s not all. You must have noticed that when you enter tunnels or bridges, sound changes a bit. We add reverb specific to those places or, in the case of tunnels, we mute some of the sounds. When implementing those effects, the sound designer’s first thought might be placing collision boxes, triggering the effects on entering and removing on exiting. However, the change would be immediate, and we didn’t want it in Train Life. That’s why we created a special kind of collision box that changes the strength of the effect based on where you are in the collision box. Thanks to that, the effect is not independent of the trains’ velocity. Although those tools speed up the process significantly, it still takes a lot of time to place them. They make it easier to see what type of sound is where and what sound line or zone needs to be adjusted if a level changed, but an empty level, especially a detailed one, needs days to be considered completed. Nevertheless, they allow us to quickly create soundscapes in big areas, giving a solid background for places that need more detail. A big shoutout to our sound designer Greg in writing this blog! Пока заинтересовал обзор от Rimpac’а Dynamic , В отличии от симуляторов паравозных, где тебе дают паравоз и гони по определенному маршруту попутно нажимая на все нужные кнопки, тут управление простое, хотя подергать управление, как я понял, можно. Но тут (не зря Rimpac сравнил эту игру с ЕТС2), ты сам берешь маршруты, можно брать попутные, и зарабатываешь бабло, на которое апгрейдишь свой паравоз или нанимаешь работников (ну как и в ЕТС), а они уже пашут на тебя. Так же попутно, «прокачиваешь» города, соблюдая технологические цепочки. К релизу (спустя 6-10 месяцев после выхода ранней версии, то 1 сентября считаем), кроме Германии будут еще Франция, Бельгия и Голландия. Собственно как и Rimpac тоже ждал что-то такого, а не симулятор, где нужно скрупулёзно нажимать все последовательности. но пока её снёс,до лучших времён,ибо заметил,что после её установки сама «винда» начала притормаживать.после удаления всё в норму вошло.так что буду ждать дальнейшего расвития проекта и новостей от разработчиков. PS хотелось бы еще добавить-несмотря на легкое управление,постоянно в напряге,так как развилки с непонятно зачем доп выбором ветки, частая и местами резкая смена скоростного режима,глупость в виде животных на путях и тп.
