Песни и кричалки про «Арсенал»
Sing about the Gunners,
We’re the lads in Red and White,
We can play the football game,
And we can play it right.
While there’s still a minute left,
We’ll not give up the fight,
When we go marching on Wembley.
March on, march on!
The boys from Highbury.
March on, march on!
March on to victory.
The Gunners colours on the Cup,
Is what we’re gonna see,
When we go marching on Wembley!
Drink Drink Together
Now there’s a team called the Arsenal,
The greatest of them all,
And we will always support them,
Whether they rise or fall, or fall!
So we’ll drink, drink, drink together,
In praise of the AFC,
Drink, drink, drink together,
In praise of the AFC.
Fulham can stay at the Cottage
Southampton can stay at the Dell
And as for Tottenham Hotspur
They can go to hell, to hell
So we’ll drink, drink, drink together,
In praise of the AFC,
Drink, drink, drink together,
In praise of the AFC.
Good Old Arsenal
Good old Arsenal,
We’re proud to say that name,
And while we sing this song,
We’ll win the game.
By Jesus said Paddy
By Jesus said Paddy, I sing it so well,
I think I’ll get up and I’ll sing it again,
So Paddy got up and he sang it again,
Over and over and over again.
She wore
She wore,
She wore,
She wore a yellow ribbon,
She wore a yellow ribbon in the merry month of May,
And when,
I asked,
Oh why she wore that ribbon,
She said its for the Arsenal and we’re going to Wembley,
Wembley,
Wembley,
We’re the famous Arsenal and we’re going Wembley.

Happy New Year Gooners!
.The New Year normally comes with new resolutions (I don’t know who still does that because I’ve given up), I’m not sure we can say the same for Arsenal, can we? I fear over the last five or so years, I’ve reluctantly come to accept that we are quintessentially, a top 4 team. Irrespective of the stars that wear this famous red shirt (Fabregas, Hleb, Arshavin, van Persie, Ozil, Sanchez..), we always seem to end up at the same place, somewhere between 2nd and 4th. My acceptance comes as a way to cope with the constant stress that comes with a relentless expectation and hope we can win the Holy Grails of football, Champions League and Premier League. It’s not happening, so I accept my reality.
I should say, up until the Champions League Draw, I was quietly confident we could easily sneak into the final. I wasn’t put off by drawing Bayern, not at all. “Bring them on!”, I thought, we can easily wipe that self-assured snug smile on their faces and wallop them into the next round. The thing that brought me back to earth was that loss to Everton. How could we? Surely, this was starting to look like our year. It is not the loss that annoyed me, but, like all-so-often, HOW we lost. We played an amazing first half, only to surrender everything in the 2nd half. We then went on to do some thing similar but even more spectacular at Manchester City. I came to a firm conclusion, the problem with Arsenal is not ability but more mentality. I’m no psychologist but I can tell Arsenal are a team who will relax whenever they reach the top. We can blame players manager or even say the Emirates is cursed (I’m happy to look into that), but, that is the best way to sum us up, A MENTALLY WEAK TEAM!
No, no, no… I’m not going to ruin your New Years day by slagging off our team which actually won their last game. I just thought I would share my over bearing feeling from the last few seasons, especially this last one and offer some perspective into 2017. We actually won our last game, we have ONLY lost 3 games, which is quite commendable. If Chelsea were not breaking records and winning every game, we could easily be in the mix for the title. So all is not lost and there is a lot to be optimistic about. In my opinion, for the first time, we have a squad where we have a team where Im actually fussed if we buy anyone in January. I like our options in every position. Right-back does raise an eye brow as we don’t seem to have a good option for Bellerin. Otherwise, let us keep the faith and maybe 2017 could serve us with a pleasant surprise. We could still do one to Bayern if we get our sh** in order, there’s the FA Cup and the Premeirship is far from decided.
As supporters, especially those who turn up at matches, it is important to be behind the team, at least until the final whistle
We need to give those players as much support as we can, after all, we are the 12th man. I look forward to 2017 with hope and not expectation, I think hope does well for my bruised and battered heart compared to expectation.
Wenger comments on Campbell’s improvement
Arsene Wenger has recently commented on his impression of Joel Campbell. Campbell was thrown into the starting XI as a third choice winger after Ramsey and Chamberlain suffered injuries over the last few months.
I’ll confess my anxiety, when I witnessed his first game after the injuries. This is because during that awful Capital one cup loss, Campbell seemed like a fish out of water to me. The thought of bearing up with him for a few more months whilst waiting for Ramsey and Chamberlain to come back, made my stomach churn.
I’ve always liked the lad, so don’t get me wrong. He’s been an Arsenal player for so long, without actually playing for us, that you forget he’s still only 23! If players peak at 26, then it means he still has 3 more years to prove his worth.
Like many players, the guy needs games. He was having a bit-part role in the team and he didn’t seem to be getting in the rhythm of the team and lacked confidence. I reckon the goal at Swansea did wonders for his self confidence and now we are getting a glimpse of what he can offer the team. I enjoyed watching him in our last game against Zagreb, he didn’t look out of place Ami g the big fish like Ozil & Sanchez. I couldn’t help to think wether he would keep his spot when Ramsey regains fitness.
I would like to see Campbell grow in strength and only be benched for rotation or under performing. I really don’t like the idea of players having a “right” to be in the starting XI.
Now Wenger has acknowledged Campbell’s confidence, creativity and wether he has a chance to keep his place. He said:
“The winter period is always important to put pressure on the other teams by doing well and by getting good results,” he said. “In the Champions League, we want to get through and we go to Olympiacos. In the upcoming games, we will take it really seriously and not drop points anymore.
Wenger has been impressed with Campbell’s willingness to battle for a place in the team and says he is thriving now in the Premier League.
“This season I didn’t want to loan him out because he has a genuine team attitude and he’s a fighter,” the manager said. “What you want from him is to bring more offensively when he plays.
“Recently he has shown that when he is confident he can produce the offensive quality and also be reliable with his team attitude.
“He’s a fighter so that’s great for us. I smelt something with him that is very interesting. He’s creative. I could see that but the creativity is linked with the confidence. You open your eyes when you feel really free to take the initiative.
“That was a bit of his problem. At the end of the day you decide what’s best for the team. Ramsey is coming back of course, Alexis is also there but it’s good to move Ramsey inside during a game and give Campbell the opportunity as well.”

Fitness key to Title tilt
I can’t believe it has been almost a year since the last blog post. Somehow, life gets in the way of blogging, especially when it is just a hobby. I’ve enjoyed seeing a different Arsenal this season, an Arsenal team that rolls over the weak teams and stands up to the big boys. We have done extremely well considering we bought just Petr Cech for the senior squad. I should admit that I was one of the pessimists on why we bought just ONE player for a team that is supposed to be ambitious. We’ve done very well haven’t we? Considering the thin squad we have and the number of injuries we have, we have to be guarded against any more injuries if we want to win the League.
Arsene, in my opinion, is not very good with rotating his players. He seems to keep playing the same 11 whenever they are fit. This means players like Ozil and Sanchez are red-hot favourites to be on the injury list soon. I would love to see Arsene rest Ozil for a game or two, replace him with someone and then bring him back, especially for the “big” games. The current system where everyone plays and then gets injured will surely cost us any chance of winning the league.
We currently have 8 first team players out injured with bout 3 coming back after the International break. If players like Ozil and Sanchez do not get rest, we will see them getting injured in this upcoming Christmas schedule which sees us play a game every 2 days, fatigue and injuries will be inevitable! I’m not saying there has not been any rotation, in fact, I loved the Theo Giroud rotation. I felt the rotation brought the best out of both players. Theo’s injury was more related to maybe not enough warming up time during that awful Sheffield Wednesday defeat. Otherwise, with rotation, every player feels he has a chance and HAS to impress when they play. I was so annoyed when Bellerin was injured and did not look forward to seeing Debuchy replace him. Since playing bits and bobs this season, we can all agree we have not enjoyed watching our new number 2! Surprisingly, in the last game we played, against Spurs, Debuchy performed the best he has this season. Debuchy had the best defensive statistics of both teams. He won ALL his battles in defence in that game. What does that say? Debuchy, like all our fringe players, needs that competition (regular games) to be competitive. It acts as a double advantage in that we get competitive players and less injuries.
It will be interesting to see how Wenger will juggle his players after the international break. Will he continue playing Ozil and Sanchez in every game or will he rest them. I specify those two on the mere fact that without them, we would not be where we are in the league. Ozil especially has been mercurial and we want to preserve him as much as we can. Lets keep our fingers crossed and see what happens after the international break, in fact, let us all pray there are no injuries during this break, pardon the pun.
Why Santi Cazorla is likely to leave this summer
Hello Gooners! it has been a while since my last blog post hasn’t it? The thing is, holding a full-time job and running a business has reduced my opportunities to attack the blog with new material. I have also been busy trying my hand at designing amongst all other things. I am currently selling a sweatshirt on eBay that will see 10% of the money made donated to The Prince’s Trust.
On to football, the rumors won’t die will they? Cazorla has been linked with Atletico Madrid for a while now. The first time I noticed it was during the World Cup. Even he came out with statements I found a bit unsettling.
‘When the World Cup is over, I’ll start thinking about my situation,’
‘I don’t want to be thinking about it right now and I’ve told my agents not to tell me anything if an offer comes in.
‘But I know a few of the Atlético players – Godín, Juanfran and I know the side well from when I was playing the Spanish league but until the tournament is over, I won’t know if the rumours are true or not.’ – Cazorla June 2014
This statement made me a bit unsettled because he did not rule out a move to Atletico, he rather opted to talk to his agents after the World Cup. Obviously as we all know, he has stayed at the club and he is having a rich vein of form this season. The rumors have not only come back but intensified. As they say, there is no smoke without fire, are Cazorla’s agents waiting for his contract to be left with one year before he switches? That way, Arsenal can not ask for too much money for him considering contract length and age? OR they are trying to negotiate a better contract for Santi, with Arsenal.
The problem in all this is, Wenger is well-known for not wanting to keep the over 30’s. Yes we have recently retrieved the likes of Rosicky and Arteta but Santi is a different case. Would he accept the customary 1 year contract extension? Would Wenger risk giving a 31-year-old player a 2+ year contract that pays more than his current £80k/week contract?
I fear Wenger will cash in and use some of the money to buy a Reus or something. Would that be wise? Do we have someone who gives us similar qualities to Cazorla? Yes we have Ozil, but Ozil does not bust a gut and defend like Santi. Santi is a special; player and losing him will be a shame. He is like our David Silva, he can make space when we are under pressure.
Reality and experience tells me Santi might leave this summer. Lets enjoy him in the mean time and if he stays, brilliant!
Where would Cesc play? Let me show you..
Since Barcelona’s new manager Luis Enrique, refused to comment on Fabregas’ future, there has been debate whether Arsenal should sign their former captain. Like most of you (i’m sure) I want him back and the only problem that people were having was, where would you play Cesc?
Going back into this past season, most of us would agree that two main things were responsible for us not taking the Premier League Title, bad performances away to top rivals and INJURIES to key men. At one point, Wenger had to play a team without Ramsey, Walcott, Ozil, Chamberlain and even Wilshere. This made life a bit more difficult as arguably, Ramsey was our best player last season.
I asked myself, what if we had Fabregas in the squad, wouldn’t we have sustained a better title charge? the answer is yes! I would agree that we lacked pace in some games and having Giroud up front when you have no pace is useless, but for the shear ability of creating chances, scoring and running into spaces, Fabregas would have made a difference.
Arsenal fans make me laugh sometimes, one minute they say, “We don’t have strength in depth” and the next minute they say, “we already have a lot of players like him”, make your minds up! Fabregas, like Ozil, can play in different positions but are better as number 10’s. Fabregas on the other hand, will deliver in the big games unlike Ozil did with us last season (yes I know it was first season and things might change).
My starting line up would be something like this:
Aurier (my choice of RB in the tranfer market) Mertesacker Koscielny Gibbs
Ozil Fabregas Cazorla
Mandzukic (my choice of striker in the transfer market)
That midfield would be inter-changeable and no one would be too restricted to their positions. In fact, one of my favorite matches of last season was the game against Napoli at home. The midfield was so dynamic and inter-changeable that Napoli didn’t know who to mark.
I would then inject the bench with pace and defensive steel, yes the team is not that defensive or pacey, but with these men on the ball, very few midfield would be able to contend with them. That would be one heck of a starting line up, capable of even winning the league. We will need also a defensive midfielder during the transfer window and maybe another pacey winger.
All in all, I think Fabregas is a no brainer and allowing him to go to our Premier League opponents would be as bad as selling him to them directly. I say, BRING CESC BACK HOME!
Gazidis: Agents are ripping off players
Ivan Gazidis has claimed that Agents are getting a far bigger piece of cake than what they are supposed to on transfer fees.
Instead of 5%, some are getting up to 15% leaving players, clubs and players unions with a smaller piece of the cake. Speaking in Barcelona, Gazidis said:
“Clearly there is a lot of money going to agents in these transfer transactions but I don’t think we the clubs can abrogate responsibility.
“We are part of the problem as we are the ones agreeing to pay these amounts of money.
“There are unusual pressures in the system which lead to agents having significant leverage.
“Players should be making more money and that money not going to agents.
“If I were a player or players’ union, that would be a really substantial concern to me because it means my clients as a union and me as a player are losing money.
“More invidious are conflicts of interest that often exist in these transactions with agents, and that’s something that clubs and players should be concerned about.”
We all knew that Agents are the rats in this beautiful game we love but I’m surprised no one really regulates it, which is such a shame.
Joel Campbell, believe the hype!
Joel Campbell might not have been a popular name among Gooners all along but his performance against Manchester United, has made him popular with the fans. I remember when we signed him when he was still in Costa Rica where he had already started making waves with their national team, He was a bit like Ryo, an untried and raw talent. He looks to have come of age now and I think next season, we have another “free signing” to look forward to.
Joel has grown in stature this season at Olympiakos where he has scored a total of 7 goals in 24 games. He has also scored 3 goals in the Champions League including yesterdays wonder goal. At the tender age of 21, he is doing fantastically well at his 3rd European club. His work permit will be ready in the summer and he should be with the boys this preseason where Arsene will get a closer look at him.
How time changes things, van Persie can tell you that
I remember watching the video and my stomach turning in disgust. Robin van Persie, our captain had decided that Arsenal’s ambitions and direction were not to his liking. He was hungry for success and NOW! It was a bit strange because that summer, we had not sold any star of note and had just signed Santi Cazorla and Podolski. Things looked very much on the up but robin was still not satisfied. Instead of going to another league he decided he was going to stay here and go to one of our biggest historical rivals, Manchester United.
Shock!! is the word I would use to describe my emotions after finding out Robin had moved up north. It was in the papers but most of us could not imagine our club selling our “best” player to Manchester United. In his first interview, he mentioned how the little boy inside him told him to join United, something that disgusted us all. For me, the biggest insult from Robin wasn’t during that interview, it was during the interview with Sky Sports months later, in fact, last year, where he described his team mates at United as “amazing players”. He said, “the little details” in the united team made him realise that he is with Champions. He claimed that his new team mates were way better than those at Arsenal and I watched that thinking, “do you have to insult the club that made you who you are like that?”. The number of seasons he was injured and we stuck by his side now this?? I just thought I’d share that video with you because, today, it can be classed as comedy gold.
We have not won anything yet, but the truth is, we are in a very positive state and the future looks bright. Thank you Robin for the 8 years of keeping our physiotherapy department busy, but now, enjoy you new hell!
Frimpong Arsenal career depends on Chelsea game
Emmanuel Frimpongs future is in the hanging as we have not seen much of him this season. He appeared a few times on the bench earlier in the season when Arteta was injured but rarely stepped on to the pitch. When defensive substitutions were obviously needed, Wenger resorted to playing full backs, Monreal & Jenkinson. You could argue it was merely tactical to cover the wings as we have played without natural wingers.
You’ve been Frimponged!
Now the Chelsea game is coming and Arsene Wenger will be without his favoured defensive midfielders, Arteta and Flamini, surely Frimpong should start? The biggest hint of wether we have seen the last of “Frimmy” will be a younger, inexperienced player plays in that position instead of Frimpong. Isaac Hayden has already been hinted to play a part in tomorrows clash. The 18-year-old can play in defence but prefers playing in defensive midfield. He is another of the upcoming talents with a great future but should he start in front of Frimpong? The answer is no, if Frimpong is to have a long-term future with the club. Arsenal’s official website has already started to talk up Hayden, with Wenger describing him as “committed” and “hard-working”. These are words that used to be associated with Frimpong, but not these days.
Frimpong is a talented player who seems to have been distracted by things other than football. He now comes across as a player whose dedication to football or Arsenal has waned. Could it be the frustration of not breaking in to the Arsenal team or the injuries? Only Frimpong can answer that. To date, Frimpong’s best performance was a game against Liverpool at the Emirates where he dominated the midfield but unfortunately got sent off at the end of the match. He exhibited in that match all the things fans knew about him, power, passion and hard work. two years ago in the Emirates cup Boca Juniors playmaker Riquelme, singled out Frimpong as Arsenal’s best player during that tournament.
“[Frimpong] was the most important player for Arsenal… him and Wilshere were our toughest opponents.” – Riquelme in 2011
Now you ask where has that talent gone, where is the passion that we so loved about Frimpong? Could it be because of his injuries that he has failed to gain momentum? Wenger is the best to recognise a player that is hampered by injuries, just look at Ramsey. According to Wenger, Ramsey exhibited the hunger to learn and improve and that made him patient with him even though some fans were getting frustrated with Ramsey. I wonder if Frimpong is the same. He has flirted with Wolves on Twitter after going on loan with them a couple of seasons ago. He even “followed” ONLY the Birmingham team on Twitter even though he was not playing there anymore. I have a slight suspicion that Frimmy would happily run down his contract to play for them,
Whichever way, there is a great feeling that all this will be answered tomorrow against Chelsea. With a contract coming to an end, he needs to impress the boss and this is his chance! If Frimpong does play a part, no matter how small it is, he could easily save his career because Flamini is thought to be out for up to 3 weeks. A good performance might set him up for another battle with Liverpool on the weekend. Don’t get me wrong, I love Frimmy but I fear his time at the Emirates might be over…
Why Arsenal will annihilate Palace: Crystal Palace v Arsenal Preview
Arsenal will lick their wounds on Saturday, pull up their sleeves and do battle with Crystal Palace. After an unfortunate loss to Dortmund, the Gunners will be keen to get back to winning ways against struggling Palace in a London derby that is sure to be entertaining.
Palace just announced the appointment of Tony Pulis as their manager after sacking their last manager Ian Holloway. It is quite sad to think that the poor man did not get a chance to get things right after moving up from the championship. Some clubs will never learn, will they? Now in the coming months, expect Palace to employ a more brutal but efficient Foot-gby style championed by Tony Pulis. Hate him or love him, his style of football is guaranteed to keep them up still.
As they face us, in a transition and in low spirits, expect Arsenal to run riot at Selhurst Park. I would easily predict a win of 2 or more goals difference. You would expect Cazorla to start after firing up the Gunners against Dortmund in the Champions League. Jack Wilshere will; have tests but I expect him to be on the bench at best.
Predicted Starting Line up
Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs
Ramsey, Ozil, Cazorla
The difference between Arsenal now and seasons before is quite simple, CONFIDENCE! Mesut Ozil has reinstated confidence by his arrival and the boys now believe they can match any team. They will want to prove that they are back to winning ways with a merciless assault on Palace, who have not yet kept a clean sheet all season. This game is guaranteed to be entertaining, Norwich Style, I personally can’t wait.
We love you Arsenal
We love you Arsenal, we do,
We love you Arsenal, we do,
Oh Arsenal we love you!
