Yandere Male Characters x Male Reader/OC One Shots

Yandere Prince X M Rogue Reader

If there’s one thing my parents ever taught me, it’s that life is survival of the fittest. That lesson has continued to prove itself true over and over again. People look out for number one. That’s just how it is in Tenebris. When push comes to shove everyone in this kingdom would rather save their ass than strangers. And it only got worse when the Prince became old enough to help rule. They say the old decrepit king is still in charge, but the king hasn’t had the mind to rule since his wife died. Everyone knows the prince is pulling all the strings.

Prince Andreas took the kingdom in the cold month January and twisted it into his vision using whatever brute force he had to. And when the people tried to protest the taxing and forced military service for a war we didn’t care about, he withheld our stored food until we were forced to serve or die of starvation. I’ve seen adults push children out of line for grain and beat each other up over a slice of dried meat. Everyone is desperate, and I have to do something about it.

It’s my biggest heist yet, and I’d be lying if I said it didn’t give me an adrenaline rush just thinking about it. Stealing from the prince, no one’s ever done it, but if anyone could it’d be me. In the dark of night, I move about the shadows, hidden from view. The grain elevators are kept behind a ten-foot fence and guarded by ten four guards, one at each corner. But there’s one blind spot and I’m planning on exploiting it.

«Emeric, what are you doing out so late?» A hushed voice asks, from a balcony above me. It’s Owen, the only friend I have in this whole city. He knows about my thievery but doesn’t like to condone it.

«Would you believe that I’m out for a midnight walk?» I joke and he rolls his eyes at me.

«Just don’t get caught,» He warns tossing me a black cloak that should help me to blend in even more than I already am. That’s the perk of having a tailor as a friend.

«Oh shut up,» He waves me away but he can’t hide his smile. I wave goodbye to him as he calls after me, «Be careful,»

«Have a little faith in me!» I begin to jog in the direction of the silos as I wrap the cloak around my shoulders. It’s warm and helps block the bitter wind once the buildings are gone. I weave between trees taking the long way around to where the silos back up to a cliff. I’ve practiced climbing this cliff so I know where to go to jump from the rocks to the top of the silo. From there I’ll make a hole in the side and send the grain down my makeshift ramp into a large crate I placed in a cave on the side of the cliff.

The scramble is a bit harder in the dark, but I know the path well since I can follow my ramp. When I reach the right spot I pull the top of the ramp out from under the bushes and reposition it to the spot where I’ll cut. I pull out the steel shears I brought and jump across. With a thud, I land on the wooden roof. I pause a few seconds to see if anyone heard me and then proceed. The wood cuts fairly easily and the grain pours out like water. All is going as planned until I hear footsteps.

«Who’s up there?» A voice shouts and I stay still and very quiet, knowing it’s never wise to show yourself. That’s the quick way to getting shot with an arrow on site.

«Bring him down to me, I believe we have found our little robin hood,» Another person orders. That voice is unmistakable. I’ve only ever heard it barking orders at civilians and soldiers so I recognize it right away, that is the voice of the prince. I didn’t know I’d gained such a reputation. I’ll have to act fast now. I close up the hole and hope that’s enough grain to feed the people for a while. I’ll have to hide the ramp so they don’t follow it as well. I push it back under the overhanging rocks and a few bushes. That’s all I have time for since I can hear someone climbing the ladder of the silo.

I hastily begin to decent but going downhill in the dark is difficult, and before I know it I’m slipping, tumbling down. I grab the hearest tree to stop my fall and pull myself back onto my feet. My wrist hurts terribly but I keep moving until I reach the bottom of the cliff. Then a figure steps out in front of me. He holds his lamp up but I step away from its light so as not to give away my identity. It’s the prince.

«Stand down and I may show you mercy,» He threatens, drawing a sword.

«I didn’t know you could fight, I thought you just sent other men to do that for you!» I pull my sword out as well. The prince sets the lantern aside on a nearby rock so he can fight without holding such an unwieldy item.

«And I didn’t think a lowlife rogue had enough brains to make such a daring plan, or are you just that self-destructive?» He sneers.

«Your talk is tedious, will you fight me or not?»

«If it will make you quiet then fight I will! More of your conversation will infect my brain!» He swings at me and I quickly block the blow.

«I am not going to bow down to you, I may be a lowly thief but your heart is filled with nothing but arrogance and pride, I’m sick when I look at you!» I make a quick swing at him before jumping back to avoid his counterstrike.

«You are a fool to think you can stand up to me! You have no more brain than I have in my elbow!» He slashes at my side, cutting the nice cloak I just received.

«Go fill another room in hell and leave this city alone!» I take a jab at his gut, almost making contact with it. He ducks down sweeping my feet out from under me.

«I’ve had enough of you and your slander,» He points his sword at my neck. He reaches over for the lantern, presumably to see who I am, but it’s a bad plan on his part as it gives me the perfect opportunity to kick him off me. He hits the ground and I jump to my feet quickly restraining him with the rope I used to scale the steepest part of the climb. «You are a plague to this kingdom! A vial worm!»

«Let’s meet as little as we can,» I tighten the knot that keeps him tied to the tree and starts to run.

«Go rot!» He screams after me, but I’ve had my fill of insults and what matters now is getting home safe. I see the glow of lanterns and duck behind a boulder as multiple guards run past.

«Your majesty are you alright?» One of them asks, and my curiosity leads me to stay to listen for just a bit.

«Untie me!» He shouts and one of the men sets about cutting the rope. «I want you to find that man and when you do you will bring him to me,»

«Do you wish to kill him yourself?» A second guard asks.

«No, I would not waste his talent. I have a far better plan in mind to tear him down,» His tone is calm but filled with rage that is genuinely terrifying. «I will take everything away from him until my leadership is all he has left and he has no choice but to submit to my rule,»

I don’t bother waiting to hear what the guard have to say, I just run. I’ve messed up, I took on a force too big. No, I have to calm down and think rationally. He doesn’t know who I am and this city alone has thousands of citizens. It’s dark out so he hardly saw what I looked like as well. I just have to lay low for a good amount of time until they give up the hunt.

I decide not to go home and instead climb the balcony up to Owens house. He’s still awake in bed reading a book. He looks up at me with a concerned and disappointed expression. «You messed up didn’t you,»

«Yes, but I haven’t been caught yet-«

«I don’t want to hear it,» He sighs, getting up and shutting the blinds and putting out the candle next to his bed. He takes me down the hall and into the bathroom where there are no windows. «This is the safest place other than the cellar. Stay here and I’ll tell you when it’s safe to come out,»

«Aren’t you being a bit over the top?»

«No. Now stay quiet,» He hands me a blanket and pillow and locks the door before sitting down next to me. «Why would you steal from the prince?»

«Because he’s evil! He’s got towers of food that he refuses to give us because we won’t fight in his war!» I whisper but retain my angered tone.

«But he’s more powerful than you! He’ll come for you and who knows what he’ll do next?» Owen panics gripping the blanket tightly until his knuckles turn white.

«I’m not going to get caught,» I put a hand on top of his.

«But what if you do?»

«I won’t. I’ve just come up with the perfect way to not be found out. I’ll hide in plain sight. I’ll work as a servant in the castle, then I can smuggle all the food and money I want without being found out!» I grin, proud of myself for coming up with such a cunning plan. He wouldn’t suspect a loyal servant to be robin hood as they’re calling me.

«This doesn’t sound smart. I think you should leave town as quickly as possible. I’ll even send you off with plenty of food and clothing,»

«And abandon these people? I have to help, and this is the only way I know how!»

«I know I won’t change your mind, I just thought it was worth a shot,» Owen sighs looking down in his lap. He brings his gaze back up to me a moment later, «I know I’ve said it a million times, but don’t get caught. Please,»

«Not good enough,»

«Alright, I promise I won’t get caught,»

I’ve been working under the prince for a month now, I rarely even see him but when I do he pays me no mind. In his eyes, I’m just another person serving him. Today I’m working in the kitchen, I’ve never seen so much food in one place. It’s almost sickening knowing he has so much when the people are starving and could be fed.

«Servant! When will the food be ready?» A sharp voice questions, I turn around to see none other than the prince in the door.

«No more than ten minutes your majesty,» I heighten the pitch of my voice so it doesn’t match my tone when we fought so he won’t recognize it.

«What have you made for me?» He asks, walking up next to my workspace, uncomfortably close to me. I can feel his breath on my shoulder as he leans over me.

«Crab cakes with sautéed vegetables and a soup,» I answer, this time I don’t need to focus on raising my pitch, my natural reaction does it for me.

«Interesting, I trust it will be satisfactory,» I expect him to leave but he pulls a stool up and begins to watch me work. «You’ve proved yourself to be a good servant over this past month. Tell me, where are you from?»

«A neighboring city of this kingdom. I was looking for opportunity,» I make up a story for myself that’s good and generic.

«That’s respectable, no better opportunity than to serve your king. Ah, excuse me, Prince,» He chuckles. He didn’t misspeak himself and it pains me to laugh at his attempt at humor.

«Well, you will be soon enough,»

«Maybe I could convince you to speed up the process of me taking his place» He pulls a small vial of what looks like poison from his belt. he wants me to put it in his father’s food.

«Wouldn’t that be treason?»

«Not when I’m the king. Do this favor for me and I will repay you tenfold,» He pushes the bottle into my hand. I examine the bottle, and when I open the distinct lack of smell leads me to believe this isn’t poison at all. It’s a test of my loyalty to him. So without hesitation, I spill some into the king’s soup. Just as I expected, there’s no reaction or a slight change in the texture.

«This isn’t poison,»

«This is a test, and you passed with flying colors,» He congratulates. I pretend to act surprised when I knew what was going on all along. «I like your dedication, you’re more valuable than I thought,»

«Thank you, it means a lot to hear you say that,» I focus on finishing my plating so I don’t have to look at the prince.

«You’ve proved yourself, how’d you like a promotion?» He offers, grabbing my chin and pulling my attention away from my work. «You’ll work directly under me, I’ll give you every luxury you desire just as long as you follow any order I give you,»

«You strike a fine offer,» I don’t commit to the job yet, running through the risk and reward of taking the job. If I didn’t take it that would look suspicious, and if I do have the job I’ll have more access to the kingdom. He holds out his hand and I take it, «I accept,»

«You made the smart choice,» He grins and I smile for a different reason. Oh, how he’s underestimated me. «Make yourself a plat then bring the food up, we shall discuss your role over dinner,»

I nod and he leaves the room. I put together a third plate and then carry the tray up the stairs, out of the basement and into the dining hall. I push the door open with my hip since my hands are full. Before me, the prince is sitting at the head of the table and the king is on his left side, gazing out the window at nothing in particular.

«Come sit down servant,» The prince calls, motioning to the chair on his right. I place the food down and then sit next to him. The atmosphere is strange, I’m not sure if I should speak or wait for the prince to begin eating. There are so many unspoken rules of royalty and I never cared to learn any of them.

«Thank you for having me,» I say, cutting into my crab cake. I’ve snuck food out of my kitchen for civilians, but I’ve never eaten any of it myself. It’s delicious.

«You will dine with me from here on out unless you are on a mission of course,» The prince informs me.

«Do you have a job for me?»

«Yes, and I don’t doubt your ability to complete it,» He takes a bite of food before continuing. I give him my full attention when he speaks, «You are going to be my silent executioner. No one in the city will know you exist. They will only know that those who disobey me disappear. Your job is to make them vanish,»

«And who am I being tasked with?» I ask, acting as if I can do this task with no remorse. In reality, I’m crafting a plan on how to transport whatever individual I’m assigned out of the city to somewhere safe. That way no one dies, but the prince thinks I did my job. He pays me handsomely, and I continue to steal from under his nose.

«A man named Owen, I believe he’s working for a much larger threat to the peace of our kingdom,» He stabs a vegetable with for more force than necessary. It’s funny that he speaks of peace when he is the root of our corruption.

«Consider it done,» I don’t my fear show, and keep a straight face when I respond.

«Perfect,» We eat in silence for a while. The king is still as distant as ever, he didn’t even acknowledge our conversation about killing civilians. He’s hardly eating, wasting away to nothing. No wonder he doesn’t make public appearances anymore. I’m brought out of my thought by Andreas speaking again, «Since you’re going to be my executioner you’re going to need a name,»

«I’ll give you one,» He cuts me off. He treats his workers like dogs, it’s despicable. «From here on out your name is Sergius, it means servant so I think it’s fitting,»

«But that’s far too long, I’ll just use Sergey,» He corrects himself. I hate the name, but I can’t argue with him unless I want to blow my cover. I nod and continue to eat. But I don’t get very far before he speaks again. «Sergey, tell me this, what do you know of robin hood?»

«I know it’s a story, a fiction at that,»

«No, the one in our kingdom,»

«I’m afraid I don’t know then,» I pretend to admit shamefully.

«He is the bane of my existence. A plague on this kingdom and you will find him and kill him for me eventually,» He explains bitterly. If only he knew robin hood was sitting next to him.

«I will do my best to bring your plan to completion, or should I say execute it,» I give a devilish smile and the prince laughs at my play on words.

«I like that wit of yours, it makes you unique. Something about you stood out to me from the minute you started working for me, that must have been it,» He says and I have to stop myself from laughing. All he’s done is contradict his previous statements in our past conversation. «I don’t doubt your ability to complete the task tonight. Best of luck and I expect proof of disposal,»

«It will be as if he never existed,»

«You’re telling me I have to leave town and make a new identity for myself?» Owen gasps when I deliver the news that I was tasked with killing him.

«This is your chance to leave this town, that’s all you’ve wanted right? To escape the prince and live a free life?» I remind him. So many nights we’d sit on that balcony looking at the stars and making plans we knew could never be. But now he has the chance to make them a reality.

«This is your most daring plan yet Emeric,» He scolds, but there’s kindness in his tone and I love hearing my name again. «I’m on board. You get me out of here and when you’re done with all of this you come and meet me. I’ll be where I’ve always wanted to go,»

«I’ll come as soon as I can,» I promise. I know exactly where he’ll be going, he’s only talked about it a hundred times. «I’m almost positive the prince has other guards outside spying on me to make sure I follow through, so you’ll need to follow my directions perfectly. For now, go limp as if I knocked you out. I’m going to carry you out of town into the woods where I’ll ‘drown’ you,»

«You thought this through,»

«I always do,» I grin, picking him up and slinging him over my shoulder. As I step out of the house and begin to walk I spot a guard trying to spy on me from behind a food cart. They’re horrible at being sneaky. But I pretend like I don’t see him. I leave the city limits which are normally locked to prevent escapees. But for me, they open them, as I have a letter from the prince. I hurry on into the depth of the woods until the trees are so dense no light from any star or moon can reach the ground. Once I know the area is clear I put Owen down.

«That was intense. Now what?» He asks.

«You get as far away from here as you can. Take this and go, I’ll meet you in Liberum Terram when I can,» I push a bag into his hands. There’s food, water, and two weeks worth of my paycheck in there.

«Thank you, Emeric. I know I get mad at you for being so reckless but that’s just who you are, and I can’t change it. But I don’t think I’d want to, it’s what makes you so special! Just stay safe, and promise me you’ll come to stay with me soon,»

«I can’t make any promises Owen, I might not make it out alive this time,»

«Don’t talk like that.» He pulls my shoulders down and kisses my cheek. «You will live, and we will have the life we wanted! I like you, a lot. I want to spend the rest of my life with you,»

«I want that too. I can’t promise it’ll happen but I’ll do everything in my power,» I kiss his cheek and give him one last hug.

«Thank you. And here, take this as evidence that you killed me,» He hands me a bloodied ripped piece of an old cloak of his. Then he hands me his embroidered handkerchief, «And this to remember me by,»

«I wouldn’t dream of forgetting you, Owen. Now hurry!» I urge and he turns and runs deep into the woods, disappearing in less than a minute. I dip the bloody cloth in the river so the drowning story holds up.

I run back to the city with a lot of things on my mind. I wasn’t thinking when I kissed his cheek, I was just doing what felt right. I have a reason to live, I have to get out of here. As soon as the city is better I’ll go. I reach the castle in no time and the doors open before I even get the chance to knock. I’m pulled in by the collar of my shirt. The door slams behind me as the Prince drags me down the hall and into his room.

«Did you do it?» He asks, he sounds as giddy as I child on Christmas.

«Naturally,» I hand him the bloody cloth.

«Splendid, you continue to prove your worth! I could kiss you Sergey!» He tosses the cloth aside and grabs my face, pulling me forward. We’re only centimeters apart. I want to smack him, but that wouldn’t go over well.

«That’s an interesting reaction but if that’s what you’d like. » I state flatly, expecting him to let me go. Instead, he follows through with his declaration, kissing me so swiftly it almost hurts. When he pulls back he begins to laugh.

«You look so cute when you’re flustered! It’s so unlike you!» He teases me for being shocked. I shift back to a deadpan expression but the blush on my cheeks doesn’t go away. «I wish you could have seen yourself,»

«I hope you enjoyed yourself,» I straighten my shirt, and compose myself.

«I very much did! And I can tell you did too,» He grins, wrapping an arm around my waist and pulling me back against him. He tucks a bag of gold into my pocket, «Keep up the good work and I’ll continue to reward you,»

Over the following two months, I’ve snuck 20 people out of this city and delivered food and gold to those who stay. Each time I’ve snuck someone out I’ve used a slightly different tactic so the prince and his guards don’t catch on. Every time I come back the prince rewards me with money, goods, and the occasional kiss. I don’t enjoy the last one as much as the first two. Tonight I’ve ‘disposed’ of an elderly woman who published a scathing newspaper article on the kingdom. It was a call to arms and many people seemed to agree with her. I had to make sure she got somewhere far away quickly or else she might be seen and my cover would be blown. I secured her a spot on a river ferry that would take a boat of 50 passengers down the river. She blended in perfectly.

When I return to the castle a guard informs me that the prince is waiting for me. My stomach churns, as every worst-case scenario runs through my head. I reach his room and pause to compose myself. Keeping up this emotionless act is difficult, but I make it work. Life is a balancing act.

«Come in!» The prince calls when I knock on the door. I enter the room slowly to see Andreas in his nightwear lounged in a large chair with a cup of tea. I hold up a shredded hat as proof of the deed. His eyes widen in curiosity, «What did you do this time?»

«Wolves,» I explain with one word.

«How exciting! You are one creative killer Sergey!» He waves me over and I move to stand next to him. He grabs my arm pulling me down to sit on the ground between his legs. He treats me like an obedient pet and the only reason I put up with it is that I can save people by working under him.

«Thank you, I do my best,» As shiver goes up my spine as he begins to play with my hair, braiding the longest pieces into tiny pigtails. I know it’s best not to question him.

«You have a nice complexion for a commoner, you should consider yourself lucky. Surprisingly, I find you quite dashing,» He pulls my shoulders back and I look up at him. I’m not sure what he’s playing at but it’s not going to work. It’s times like these where I wonder if this is worth it. I have to remind myself that it is.

«That’s kind of you to say,» I move my head back down to avoid getting a neck cramp. I hope he allows me to leave soon, I just want to send a letter to Owen and then go to sleep. I begin to nod off in my seated position, drifting in and out of sleep for a while.

«Yes, sir?» I snap to attention as the prince begins to laugh.

«Oh, that was cute! You were so scared!» He leans over, draping himself across my shoulders in some strange hug.

«Oh don’t lie to me! Now I was talking to you before you so rudely fell asleep on my leg,» He stands up and moves in front of me. I stand up as well just a few inches shorter than him. «Anyway, I was saying you still have no leads on our robin hood problem,»

«Believe me, I’m just as frustrated as you are. None of my victims have spilled any useful information about him,» I sigh, giving off the impression that I care about his issue, «Even when I tell them I’ll spare them if they give me intel. Of course, it’s a lie and they could tell,»

«I think you’re misunderstanding me, I said you don’t have a lead. I do,» He steps forward and I instinctively take one back.

«Excellent, what is it?» I do my best to sound excited, but something about him right now is incredibly creepy.

«I don’t like guessing games, I’ll just tell you,» He swiftly kicks me in the chest sending me stumbling backward into the chair he was just sitting in. Before I can get back up he stabs a sword into the cushion through my shirt, just inches from my arm. «It’s you! You’re robin hood!»

«You must be mistaken, or mad for I am nothing but loyal!» I argue, stalling while I try to come up with an escape plan.

«You’re even beginning to sound like him again! When you’re scared you stoic act vanishes so quickly,» He grins maniacally, leaning closer to me. «I’ll admit I figured it out pretty quick, but it was fun to play along! You were so sure you could save this city you were willing to stoop down to such a low level,»

«Yes, it was a grueling task to serve you, but I don’t regret it,»

«Don’t think you’ve accomplished anything Ser-«

«Emeric! I am not your servant, I am Robin Hood!» I shout, ripping the shit away from the sword and pushing Andreas back. I stand up and go to unsheathe my sword only to find it isn’t there.

«Don’t fall asleep around me if you don’t want your things stolen! This was from someone special, wasn’t it? Well, you won’t be needing it anymore,» Andreas teases and pulls out a handkerchief, Owens. He tosses it into the open flames in the fireplace, it’s engulfed in seconds. «Now it’s gone, just like him and everyone else you ‘saved'»

«What did you do to him?»

«You’re not my only executioner Emeric,» He says like it’s something I should have known, and I begin to shake with anger. «Don’t cry, or do, that’d be fun to see,»

I dash for my sword but as I’m about to reach it tackled to the ground. The prince has me pinned with my chest to the ground, my sword is just out of reach. I begin to struggle as he continues to press into my back. «You’re despicable!»

«I’m all you have!» He shifts to turn me onto my back, but it gives me just enough time to push him off and get back up. This time I successfully retrieve my sword. I head for the window, throwing it open I prepare to jump. «Where will you go? Even if you do survive the fall and my hundreds of guards, then what? You have no friends, no family, no lover in Liberum Terram!»

«I’d rather face the fall than fall into you,»

«How poetic, all the more reason to love you,» he steps towards the window and I glance back, gauging the fall. It’s a long way down, I’ll need to find a way to break my fall or another roof closer to me. I look back up to see the prince is only a few feet away. «I was thinking about what you said that first night we met,»

«When I said ‘Let’s meet as little as we can’? Because I’d very much like that,» I point my sword at him so he can’t come any closer.

«No. When you said my heart was full of greed. And I’ve realized that you were right,»

«I like your attitude. It’s infuriating but no one else is so bold,» He muses but then he seems to remember he had a point to address, «Back to the topic at hand! I am greedy. I want this kingdom to myself, I want the best of the crop, I want more land so I send my people to war, and now I’ve found I want you all to myself!»

«I will no longer be your servant!» I work up the courage to make the jump and take a deep breath. Then I move to jump. Just as I’m about to, Andreas ducks beneath my sword and grabs my ankle, pulling me back into the room so I can’t leave. The back of my head slams on the window sill and my sight becomes spotty and I cry out in pain. I hear the clatter of my sword falling out the window. I blink quickly but it’s too late, I’m pinned down and then I’m being kissed.

«That’s not what I want anymore,» He pulls out a dagger and I flinch, ready to meet my maker. But he only slices through my shirt, pulling it away effortlessly. I think back on what I overheard him say the night of our fight. He said he’d break me, is this it? «I swore I’d make you mine alone Emeric, and I have done just that. No one else can have you because there’s no one left!»

I can’t give up! I still have a drive to survive, and life is survival of the fittest. I’ll find a way out. I always do.

A/N: Thank you for requesting! Wow, this is one of my darker stories! It just kind of turned out that way, so I hope you liked it! I wanted to leave the ending a bit open so if you’d like to believe he escapes that would be totally plausible!
