Forge World
Φ-class or Forge Worlds are the worlds of the Adeptus Mechanicus — worlds totally devoted to industry and to the Cult Mechanicus’s own occult worship. [11]

Overview
The majority of a Forge World’s solid ground surface is covered in thousands of years of built-up, massive industrial complexes: great machine factories, production centres, huge volcanic furnaces, skyscraping chimneys, abyss-like quarries and the great workshop-fortresses of the Collegia Titanica. No other world can match the quality and quantity of a forge world’s output. [1]
The Adeptus Mechanicus possesses a monopoly on the advanced technological knowledge of Terra’s past; consequently, Forge Worlds are the sole producers of the Imperium’s more unique and advanced equipment: high-end personal weapons, spacecraft, war machines such as tanks, fighters, and even Titans, as well as more mundane but vital and advanced equipment. [1]
The population of a Forge World is invariably immense, the majority directly involved in the industry of the planet, laboriously working in factories and involved in heavy mining. The result of the planet’s complete industrialization means its ecosystem has been completely destroyed. The air is saturated with toxic gases and rivers flow with toxic run-off from factories. In many cases, even seas and oceans have been dried up to make room for more factories. However, the output of forge worlds is absolutely vital to the Imperium as a whole. [16]
A Forge World is directly controlled by the Adeptus Mechanicus. All are completely dedicated to the manufacture of the various machines of the Imperium, the pursuit and preservation of humanity’s ancient scientific knowledge and the worship of the Machine God. Ancient pacts between the Adeptus Mechanicus and other worlds and institutions of the Imperium oblige the various Forge Worlds to supply other worlds and the various military arms of the Imperium, such as the Imperial Guard. Based on most forge worlds are the Titan Legions; these are supported by legions of Skitarii, the Mechanicus’s cybernetically-enhanced soldiers, who also serve as the forge worlds’ military forces. Equipment produced by forge worlds are constructed according to the individual forge world’s own design-standards or «patterns». [16]

Origins
Forge World was created in 1998, the Brainchild of John Stallard and headed by Paul Robins, the man responsible for the original Thunderhawk Gunship. It was announced to the public in the same edition of White Dwarf as the 3rd Edition of Warhammer 40,000. Forge World was originally created to design Warhammer Terrain (hence the name) and limited edition, large scale collectors edition models. Since then Forge World has expanded to create variant vehicles, large scale titans, accessory sets for various armies and even their own small forces, notably the Elysian Drop Troops Imperial Guard released in 2005. Forge World has become one of the most loved assets of Games Workshop among veteran gamers and has recently been drawn closer to the core company to better allow for cross-pollination of ideas.
Projects
Forge World creates many different styles of model for different tastes. All Forge World models are made from Polymer Resin, a brittle but very light material that can be used to model extreme detail or, more rarely, etched brass, in the case of their barbed wire sheets and Imperial eagle icons.
Imperial Armour is a series of Warhammer 40,000 vehicles and monstrous creatures for the various races. These represent exotic variants or extremely large vehicles that would be impractical in normal games of Warhammer. The Imperial Armor project also includes accessory and upgrade kits for vehicles and even some specially sculpted troops such as tank commanders for use within Forgeworld kits.
The Horus Heresy is a series of rules, scenarios, characters, and vehicles set roughly ten thousand years before Warhammer 40,000 in the Horus Heresy.
The reboot of Adeptus Titanicus is an epic-scale game set during the Horus Heresy. [1]
Resin terrain, while quite expensive, is beautifully detailed and lovingly created by the Forge World sculptors. It includes everything from simple knee high walls to battlefield spanning fortresses and bases, bristling with weapons.
These are large scale, superdetailed models that are usually about 12cm tall. They are the ultimate in collectors pieces for GW fanatics and are some of the most detailed models ever produced under the auspices of Games Workshop.
Specialist Games and Aeronautica Imperialis:
In collaboration with Specialist Games, Forge World has created resin miniatures for the Epic, Battlefleet Gothic, Aeronautica Imperialis and Warmaster game systems.
Warhammer 40,000 Icons:
Designed for use to add depth and detail to 40k forces or terrain.
Forge World has created a variety of large-scale monsters for Warhammer, including huge dragons, Greater Daemons and a Giant.
