В другой раз главные герои, с грохотом приземлившиеся на браконьерское судно, останавливаются — очевидно, пораженные жестокой красотой природы — и смотрят на погибающих в дыму динозавров, забыв, что на шум должны вот-вот прибежать толпы вооруженных недружелюбных людей. И для ровного счета — третий пример халатности сценаристов: во время сцены аукциона никто, кажется, даже не замечает сбежавшего из клетки динозавра, и продажа ящеров продолжается как ни в чем не бывало. Business as usual, конечно же.
Искупает эти многочисленные огрехи разве что последовательность, с которой сценаристы сообщают о социальных проблемах. Не будет преувеличением сказать, что это самый глубокий фильм франшизы за 25 лет, пусть вопросы человеческой ответственности и экологии в нем и ставятся с меньшим изяществом, чем в картине Стивена Спилберга. Треворроу и Коннолли умудряются представить в попкорновом блокбастере вполне прозрачную критику корпоративного капитализма — роскошная сцена аукциона говорит сама за себя. Также сценаристы задают вопрос о том, стоит ли вообще спасать формы жизни, уже однажды исчезнувшие с лица земли (в контексте этого вопроса персонаж Джеффа Голдблюма задействован очень грамотно), но дают на него не вполне очевидный ответ.

В 2015 году «Мир юрского периода» заработал в прокате больше миллиарда — такой успех стал сюрпризом даже для его создателей. Студия анонсировала сиквел уже через месяц. Колин Треворроу заявил, что не вернется в режиссерское кресло. Его место занял испанец Хуан Антонио Байона, известный по мистике «Приют» и фэнтези-драме «Голос монстра». А Треворроу ограничился ролью продюсера и сценариста.
Колин пообещал, что продолжение получится мрачнее и выведет действие за пределы острова. И оба этих обещания он сдержал. Только проблема в том, что его сценарий не выдерживает никакой критики. Треворроу и его соавтор Коннолли плюнули на здравый смысл и окончательно превратили историю о противостоянии человека с природой в аттракцион: зрелищный, красивый, но бессмысленный.
Неинтересный конфликт
Роман Крайтона и основанный на нём первый «Парк» Спилберга рассказывали, что бывает, когда человек решает поиграть в Бога и забывает, что жизнь всегда найдёт лазейку. В «Падшем королевстве» силы природы отошли на второй план. Даже вулкан служит только поводом перекинуть повествование с острова на большую землю.
Некоторые злодеи заслуживают премии Дарвина за слабоумие и отвагу
Главными противниками Оуэна и Клэр становятся очередные безжалостные корпоративные дельцы, мечтающие нажиться на бедных динозавриках. Один из них, к слову, почему-то списан с Илона Маска. Злодеи получились просто никакими, а их гениальный план не выдерживает критики.
А новейшее изобретение мастеров-генетиков, индораптор, появляется только под конец фильма и не может даже вырваться из клетки без помощи сценаристов и одного безмозглого персонажа. Сцены с индораптором, крадущимся по изысканной усадьбе в поисках маленьких девочек, не идут ни в какое сравнение с напряжёнными моментами из первого «Парка юрского периода», где мы всерьёз переживали за Лекс и Тимми. Даже злобный спинозавр из неудачной третьей части доставил героям больше проблем, чем этот продукт генной инженерии.

Поговорим о героях
Второй «Мир юрского периода» унаследовал от первого и другую проблему — бездарных и неинтересных персонажей. Актерский состав фильма играет не живых людей, а картонные шаблоны. Оуэн Грейди — громила, решающий проблемы кулаками. Клэр Диринг — его подружка и любовный интерес. После того как критики разгромили героиню в первой части, в сиквеле Клэр выдали сапоги и добавили пару боевых сцен, но забыли придумать, зачем она нужна в большинстве эпизодов.
Оуэну и Клэр помогает парочка второстепенных персонажей — темнокожий умник-программист и латиноамериканка-ветеринар. Добавлены они скорее для политкорректности, потому что смысла от них в сюжете никакого. К тому же темнокожий умник раздражает не хуже Джа-Джа Бинкса и порочит своим поведением всех гиков и программистов. Его основное занятие в фильме — визжать как истеричка, потеть и удирать от динозавров.
Нерд Франклин (справа) существует в фильме только для того, чтобы оттенять героизм всех остальных. Непонятно, как он с такой трусостью вообще в экспедицию вписался
Единственный луч света в темном царстве — девочка Мейси, которая хоть как-то скрашивает вторую половину фильма. Но и она в паре мест совершает абсолютно нелогичные поступки и никак не реагирует на сюжетный поворот, который должен был перевернуть ее жизнь с ног на голову.
За приключениями таких поверхностных и нераскрытых персонажей совершенно неинтересно наблюдать. С самого начала нам дают понять, что герои бессмертны и защищены сюжетной броней. Когда им грозит беда, из кустов выскакивает очередной динозавр и мимоходом их спасает.
Индораптор порой ведёт себя не как животное, а как монстр из ужастика
Динозавры, как всегда, лучшее, что есть в фильме. Главные звезды фильма не Оуэн, не Клэр, а именно они, тираннозавр-рекс и велоцираптор по кличке Блю. Они превращают каждое свое появление на экране в так называемый «money shot» — кадр, за который вы заплатили деньги.
Все самые искренние и эмоциональные сцены так или иначе связаны с динозаврами: вот Блю жалеет якобы раненого Оуэна, вот маленький трицератопс ищет защиты у мамы. Ну а самый пронзительный момент картины — кадр с одиноким брахиозавром, погибающем в огне вулкана. От одного взгляда на него слёзы брызнут даже у прожжённого циника.
С динозаврами связаны самые трогательные моменты фильма
Визуальное пиршество
Картинка — единственное, за что хочется похвалить создателей. Динозавры кажутся живыми и настоящими, а извержение вулкана повергает в шок и трепет. Но за всем этим великолепием виден холодный и трезвый расчет. Фильм пытается пугать, восхищать и держать в напряжении словно по расписанию. Во всём этом нет никакой души. Стивен Спилберг когда-то снял «Парк юрского периода», потому что обожал динозавров, и создатель парка Хаммонд был отчасти списан с него самого. А этот фильм снимали, просто чтобы заработать ещё миллиард.
Джефф Голдблюм появляется на пару минут в начале и в конце, чтобы произнести не связанный с сюжетом монолог
Одно хорошо: финал картины открывает простор для фантазии создателям третьей части — которая, конечно же, будет. Теперь действие может происходить не только на острове, но и почти где угодно, хоть в центре США, хоть в Сибири. Вот только после этого фильма ждать продолжения уже как-то не хочется.
I only ever hear bad things about this movie, some argue it’s the worst of all 5/6 (not seen dominion yet) but I disagree I sat there watching this film wondering how long it’d take me to be bored or remember why this film isn’t liked. There’s a few goofy moments like when Miles has the money going up in his glasses reflection but apart from that and the character of Franklin, the movie isn’t really goofy or annoying. The final fight scene with the Indoraptor and the protagonists is a bit boring, I’ve never really liked it, I think it’s just the setting, plus the inconsistencies with the Indoraptor’s ‘heightened’ sense of smell and other attributes it allegedly has but doesn’t use.
Overall I like this movie more than Jurassic World, it feels like a remake of The Lost Word, and as it sets up the final film in the saga, it does well enough for me to warrant a high rating.

Fallen Kingdom was TERRIBLE. One major character has 3 life-changing experiences in the spanse of about a couple of minutes. It takes no time to let the audience process anything that happens. It’s just immediately on to the next scene.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is the 2018 sequel to Jurassic World, and the fifth film in the Jurassic Park franchise. Juan Antonio Bayona takes over the director’s chair from Colin Trevorrow, who remains on as executive producer alongside Steven Spielberg. Trevorrow is credited as co-writer with Derek Connolly. It was released in the USA on June 22, 2018.
Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard and B.D. Wong reprise their roles as Owen Grady, Claire Dearing, and Dr. Henry Wu. They are joined not only by newcomers played by James Cromwell, Toby Jones, Geraldine Chaplin, and Justice Smith, but also notably by Jeff Goldblum, who reprises his role of Dr. Ian Malcolm from Jurassic Park and The Lost World.
Four years have passed since the fall of Jurassic World. Isla Nublar has once again been abandoned, the park left in ruins and the dinosaurs to their devices. Now, the island that was once home to the original Jurassic Park and its successor is ready to go up in a massive eruption of lava due to a volcano that awakened on the island. Because of this, one of John Hammond’s old partners offers to help rescue the dinosaurs. Claire Dearing recruits Owen Grady to join in on the rescue mission due to the fact that his old companion, the Velociraptor Blue, is still alive on the island. Now, it’s a race against time and the vicious creatures still on the island to rescue as many as possible to release into a sanctuary, before Isla Nublar finally goes up in a catastrophic inferno.
Or at least, that’s the story they are told.
In February 2018, a third Jurassic World film, later titled Jurassic World: Dominion, was announced with a tentative release in June 2021 (later delayed to June 2022 after the COVID-19 Pandemic temporarily halted production). An augmented reality game, Jurassic World Alive has been released on 24 May 2018. A teaser short film, Jurassic World: Battle at Big Rock, was uploaded in September 2019.
In June 2018, a prequel novel The Evolution Of Claire written by Tessa Sharpe was released that is set between the events of Jurassic Park III and Jurassic World that centers on the character of Claire Dearing and her first year of internship with Masrani Global one year prior to the opening of Jurassic World.
It’s the first Universal picture, involving dinosaurs, to be filmed in a widescreen CinemaScope aspect ratio since Dinosaurus!, released nearly 50 years prior.

Universal producers have in the past expressed their wish to create more films after the fourth Jurassic Park film.

In November 2009, Joe Johnston was interviewed by Ain’t It Cool News. [6] At one point, he expressed his vision of the new Jurassic Park movies: «it would take it off in a whole other trilogy basically«

IGN wrote, at May 15, that Legendary Pictures producer Thomas Tull told them that «The ideas and script that they came up with, and story, are spectacular, so we may spend more than one piece in there.” [9]
In an interview with Empire Magazine, Colin Trevorrow confirmed that a sequel to Jurassic World was already in early stages of development. [10] [11]
On May 29, 2015, at the Jurassic World premiere in France Colin Trevorrow revealed that he will not be directing Jurassic Park V. [12]
In an interview with RadioTimes Trevorrow discussed his idea for the upcoming film. He said, «I really like the idea that this group of geneticists aren’t the only people who can make a dinosaur. [. ] You know, when you think of the differences between Apple and PC – the minute something goes open-source, there are all kinds of entities and interests that may be able to utilise that technology.» He explained that it would be like the relationship that humans have today with other animals, such as how some animals are «kept in zoos, like Jurassic Park, but they are also used in agriculture, and medicine and in war.» [13]
On June 13, 2015, a day after the release of Jurassic World, Chris Pratt confirmed in a discussion with Entertainment Weekly that he had signed on to do an unspecified number of sequels to Jurassic World. [14]
On July 24, 2015, Colin Trevorrow revealed in an interview with WIRED that the film would not reuse the plot of people becoming lost on an island with free roaming dinosaurs and escaping like in the previous films The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park III stating «That’ll get old real fast.» and that «this isn’t always going to be limited to theme parks». He further said that he would like to explore the concept of cloning dinosaurs being open source like he had mentioned in his interview with RadioTimes. [17]
Colin Trevorrow in an interview with JurassicCast revealed several details about Jurassic World’s sequel and confirmed that there will be a trilogy. He mentioned that the second film in this new trilogy is based on Alan Grant ‘s quote in Jurassic Park (film) in the » Cretaceous Cafe » scene: . Dinosaurs and man, two species separated by 65 million years of evolution, have just been suddenly thrown back into the mix together. How can we possibly have the slightest idea what to expect?» Over the course of the trilogy, Claire’s character would evolve the most, mirroring the changing world and that Owen «has shit to deal with». The events of Jurassic World has opened a «pandora’s box» with both Claire and Owen holding responsibility for some elements of the incident. [18]
Colin Trevorrow informally-confirms future films featuring animatronics, via Twitter after fan speculates about possibility of no animatronics. [19]
After much speculation, it was announced that J.A. Bayona would direct the sequel. [20] Before he was confirmed as director, it had previously been reported that Universal was interested in having Bayona be the director of the Jurassic World sequel [21] and Mike Fleming Jr of Deadline had reported after Bayona dropped out of World War Z II that he began hearing Bayona’s name again as the potential director of the sequel. On April 21, 2016, The Knowledge confirmed that the sequel will be filmed in the United Kingdom. [23]
At the 2016 Template:W held in Las Vegas, Nevada, a promotionable poster was revealed. [24]
On the preview for Production Weekly’s July 21, 2016 issue, it was revealed that a working title for the film is «Ancient Futures». [25]
On July 21, 2016, the day the Production Weekly issue was released, fansite Jurassic Outpost reported that in conjuction with Reel News Hawaii that they had exclusivly learned and confirmed that the sequal will start filming on Febuary 27, 2017 in Hawaii where the first film, Jurassic Park III, and Jurassic World were filmed. That same day, producer Frank Marshall made comments about the film’s current state to Colider. He said that the film was in “full-boar pre-production” with storyboards currently being created for the film and that shooting for the film will begin in early Spring of 2017. He added that there have numerous meetings discussing the film and that the filmmakers have a template for the movie. Furthermore, Marshall said that director J.A. Bayona has been adding his ideas into the script. According to Marshall, despite the ideas that Bayona has contributed to the film’s story at the moment it is “pretty much the original story they [Trevorrow and Connolly] came up with.” He concluded his comments saying, “I think we’re just having to look and see how we can involve the characters in the story with whatever dinosaurs we have in the action sequences. It’s a challenge, but it’s a healthy challenge.” [27]
On July 29, 2016, Frank Marshall confirmed in another interview with Colider that the sequel will film in Hawaii. [28]
Pacific Business News reports in August 2016 that scouts for filming in Hawaii will arrive in November 2016. [29]
IGN reports in September 2016 that the film will be more «suspenseful and scary» when compared to its predecessor, and that it would not feature militarized dinosaurs (a plot point set up in the previous film). [30]

Как развлекательный фильм «Мир Юрского периода 2» работает с затянутыми пробуксовками. Часть сюжетных линий состоят целиком из филлера, штампов и дичайшей тягомотины, которую становится невыносимо глотать.

К сожалению, лента не рискует ударяться в философию и злободневность, предпочитая оставаться в безопасной зоне досуга под попкорн. Концовка вызывает чувство смутной тревоги за родную расу, но лишь затем, чтобы оставить жирный крючок на грядущее.

Новый «Мир Юрского периода» — самый серьезный фильм знаменитой франшизы, с явным зоозащитным акцентом.
Сценарий иногда кажется бредом, из юмора обнаружен только один кадр, где ящер перед нападением раздумчиво постукивает коготком, как Шерлок Холмс перед тугодумом Ватсоном. Но в целом красивых живчиков на красивых 3D-ландшафтах смотреть занятно.
Несмотря на интересное приключение, после титров чувствуешь некоторое разочарование от несостыковок деталей сюжета, странного поведения злодеев и неожиданных поворотов, которые выглядят глупо или на самом деле просто никуда не ведут.
Решение доверить осуществить постановку Хуану Антонио Байоне оказалось, думается, удачным. Будучи признанным (в том числе за пределами родной Испании) специалистом по триллерам и хоррорам, он постарался развить те традиции, которых последовательно.

Hold onto your butts! The Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Dinosaur update is here!
This update introduces three new dig sites, a cast of new dinosaurs which you can bring to your island, new InGen database entries and a number of fixes and improvements to the base game.
Guests will be pouring onto your island to see two brand new herbivores, the feisty Stygimoloch, and the horn-adorned Sinoceratops. Each will have their own comfort requirements, so get those enclosures ready!
And, if you feel like you’re an expert in crisis management, you’ll also see the arrival of three new carnivores, the terrific and terrifying Baryonyx, Carnotaurus and Allosaurus. Don’t put them too close to your guests though. They bite, chew and swallow whole.
Alongside these toothy predators stands the star of the show: the horrifying and one-of-a-kind, Indoraptor! Haven’t yet had the pleasure to come face to face with this monstrosity? 1) It’s bad. I didn’t like Jurassic World, but this is worse. It’s got broad characters, lackluster set-pieces, a noisy score and the kind of script which should be punishable by throwing its writers to sharks. At least Jurassic World, mediocre as it was, had the good sense to copy the first Jurassic Park. Fallen Kingdom foolishly imitates The Lost World instead, with a semi-watchable first half on the island and an abysmal last act with dinosaurs wreaking havoc back to civilization.
Kudos to the late John Hammond for building his park on a volcanic island. Also, I hate to ask but, since it’s a plot point that dinosaurs will face extinction (again!) if they are not rescued from Isla Nublar. what happened to Isla Sorna (Jurassic Park 2 and 3)? There were dinosaurs on it as well. I’m sure some novelization or website makes up a lame excuse, but the movie doesn’t.
2) Stop overcomplicating blockbusters. Jurassic Park featured a smart sci-fi premise, but the actual plot had an elegant simplicity to it. Fallen Kingdom is the opposite, dumb but convoluted, tossing in betrayals, cloned little girls and evil corporations selling dinosaurs to warlords.
3) Speaking of that, enough with the «dinosaurs as military weapons» nonsense! This is a concept which appealed to all of us when we were kids («I want to ride a T-Rex! With a rocket launcher mounted on its back!»), but you cannot have War Dinosaurs in anything that wants to be taken seriously by adults.
Note that the dinosaur boogey of this movie, the Indoraptor, is so ineffectual that it repeatedly fails to kill its unarmed preys in the endless climax. Some infallible weapon: there is a scene where three characters are pinned under a tree and the Indoraptor manages to. scratch one of them in the knee before they escape. You know what could have killed them more efficiently than your War Dinosaur? One guy with a pistol!
4) Fallen Kingdom assumes you are really, really interested in Blue, the Chris Pratt-trained Raptor from Jurassic World. This is understandable, since Owen’s relationship with his Raptors was one of the few bits from the previous film which at least felt novel. However, the script retcons Blue into a sympathetic, heroic creature which displayed diligence and empathy since it was young; funny, I recall her killing several innocents in the previous movie and attacking Chris Pratt himself with no provocation in their first scene.
His Owen never changes. There is more character development implied with a small prop in Jurassic Park (the Raptor claw Grant uses to scare a kid at the beginning and then throws away after bonding with Tim and Lex) than in all Owen’s scenes in Fallen Kingdom.
6) Howard is inoffensive but unremarkable as Claire: she is just kind of there, blandly good-looking, doing no damage but adding little value, like a lettuce in a sandwich. Her two sidekicks (Scared Nerd and Tough Latina) are insufferable though.
(By the way, how is Claire not rotting in jail as the aftermath of Jurassic World? She is directly responsible for the dozens of casualties there, poorly handling the Indominus’ escape and refusing to evacuate the island. She must have one hell of a lawyer.)
7) Poor Rafe Spall, a competent actor (see The Ritual, a much better monster movie), plays Greedy Corporate Guy, an antagonist so flat and obvious that I was disappointed he didn’t get an Evil Laugh Scene. you know, he throws his head back and bellows «Bwahaha!» while the camera cranes up.
I love how Rafe Spall builds a containment facility for dinosaurs under James Cromwell’s mansion. Cromwell plays Old Sick Naive Rich Guy. Sorry, I don’t care how old, sick and naive you are: you have no excuses if you don’t realize someone is HIDING DINOSAURS IN YOUR BASEMENT. Really, Trevorrow? Is this some kind of spoof?
8) CGI is fine but overused. It’s a visually busy movie.
I’ll give them credit for making the Indoraptor more visually distinctive than the Indominus. At least they sort of splashed some yellow on it.
9) While Bayona’s direction is competent (certainly better than this script deserved), I didn’t care for most of the set-pieces. Remember how Spielberg took his sweet time with the T-Rex breakout or the Raptors in the kichen? Here most action beats are over right after they begin (the Baryonyx, the Carnotaurus. ). There is no build-up, no crescendo. It’s the cinematic equivalent of premature ejaculation.
It’s not just a matter of screentime though; the Dilophosaurus appeared in the first film for two minutes and is more memorable than any of the new creatures here. You have to do something creative and unique with your movie monsters. For example, the bunker attack could have been carried out by any carnivore; if you wanted a Baryonyx (which was possibly a semi-aquatic predator like the Spinosaurus), why not put it in the sinking gyrosphere scene?
I did enjoy the prologue with the T-Rex and the Mosasaurus, although. why would the Jurassic World engineers build a giant door which allows the Mosasaurus to reach the ocean? What kind of scenario were they envisioning where the escape of the humongous sea monster would be a positive outcome?
I mean, come on. I’m not usually a nitpicker, but this movie seems to be trolling anyone giving it a minimum amount of thought. A plot hole doesn’t automatically ruin a story, but the cumulative effect of all this nonsense conveys a staggering lack of thought and care.
10) The silly ending sets up another sequel. I guess we’ll finally get the inevitable War Dinosaurs.
To people asking «What were you expecting in a film about dinosaurs?», I answer: «Something maybe not on par, but at least in the same league as Jurassic Park, one of my favorite movies of all time».
Three years after the destruction of the Jurassic World theme park, Owen Grady and Claire Dearing return to the island of Isla Nublar to save the remaining dinosaurs from a volcano that’s about to erupt.
They soon encounter terrifying new breeds of dinosaurs, whist uncovering a conspiracy that threatens the entire planet.
I was so happy with Jurassic World when released in 2015. It somehow caught some of the magic that was so crucial to the ground breaking first movie. So despite the maundering trailers, the poor one sheets, and an air of excitement that seemed as sparse as when JP3 was released, my expectations were pretty high for this.
And why shouldn’t they have been? Here we have a great director, the chemistry between Pratt and Howard made JW much more than just a reboot to a much loved masterpiece.
But no, this has to be one of the most disappointing films not just of this summer, but of any summer since that magical one of 1993.
It just takes everything that worked with JW, and extracted it and added elements that just made the film almost unbearable to endure. Yes, the efects are amazing, and the opening scene is decidedly quite effective, but when we get to the charachters proper, you can see the lack chemistry that was so important in the last chapter.
Pratt looks bored on the verge of saying ‘Am I the biggest star in the world yet?’, and Howard is resorted to nothing more than a bolshy babysitter for the children in the film.
The film has a gothic element to it toward the final act, when we meet Jones and his prehistoric auction. But one couldn’t help but hark back to 2008’s ‘Taken’ where we see Neeson compelling his next victim to bid for his daughter.
It’s a crying shame that the film goes for the lazy route and resorts to nothing but the cast running away from clouds of smoke and panicking dinosaurs.
And if you didn’t already know, if you’ve seen the trailer, you’ve seen Goldblum’s appearance.
A turgid, lazy film, easily one of the worst of the year.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018)
With the remaining dinosaurs about to be killed off by an active and large volcano, activist Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) agrees to take a mission back to the island to try and save them. She talks Owen (Chris Pratt) into going with her but soon they are forced to make some decisions about the dinosaurs and especially when they realize that they’ve been double crossed.
JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM isn’t the bomb that some are making it out to be but at the same time there’s no question that it’s the weakest film in the series and that’s really too bad because there was an interesting story here that director J.A. Bayona just couldn’t reel in. It’s really too bad because this very well could have been the best of the series but the lackluster direction and lack of suspense really ruined it.
I thought the best stuff happened on the island when our leads must try to rescue the dinosaurs as well as survive the volcano. I really enjoyed the scenes dealing with the volcano and I must admit that I think the film would have been much better had it stayed on the island. It unfortunately heads back to land and we get into the second half of the film that deals with poachers and an auction sale of the dinosaurs. The entire third act just didn’t work for me due to a number of reasons.
I understand movies like this need the viewer to follow the «suspension of disbelief» but to me this only works when what you’re watching keeps you glued to the screen. You’re so caught up in what’s going on that your brain doesn’t think about some of the things that you are watching. If you’re bored with what you’re watching, as I was with this film, then you mind starts to wonder and you start picking apart what you’re seeing. I mean, how did all of these dinosaurs fit into this one mansion? Wouldn’t their weight destroy this place? There are countless other examples where I was just rolling my eyes.
Pratt and Howard are in good form but it’s Ted Levine (Buffalo Bill in THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS) who steals the picture playing bad as only he can. He was certainly very entertaining and I’d say he easily stole the film. As you’d expect the CGI was wonderful looking as was the score and cinematography. Technically speaking the film was good for what it was.
However, the problem remains that the direction was rather lackluster and the lack of any real suspense just killed things. I really didn’t think the second portion of the story worked and at the end of the day there’s no question that this is a very flawed film that is also the least entertaining of the series.
The special effects in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom are technically brilliant, but the film doesn’t really do anything that we haven’t seen before, making the film as a whole yet another underwhelming experience. In desperation, the film-makers have resorted to more outrageous set-pieces, as well as inventing bigger and badder dinosaurs that never actually existed, all of which requires way too much suspension of disbelief.
And talking of pushing the boundaries of believability too far, the notion that velociraptors were intelligent enough to be trained is quite preposterous: they had pea brains, experts rating their intelligence on a par with a rabbit. Anyone stupid enough to try and become a veloci-whisperer would wind up as a meal for the ravenous lizard (except, of course, for the fact that velociraptors were, in reality, only the size of a large chicken!).
Other things that had me rolling my eyes: Chris Pratt becoming an MMA fighter to plough his way through countless bad guys; a dinosaur that pretends to be asleep to catch someone off-guard; velociraptor Blue knowing only to attack the villains; the transportation of numerous ginormous dinosaurs to a mansion in the US without the knowledge of the authorities; and obligatory child Maisie (Isabella Sermon) ultimately releasing the captured beasts into the wild because she feels sorry for them. Duh!
5.5/10 for the special effects, rounded down to 5 for annoying comedy-relief tech-geek Franklin Webb (Justice Smith) and for Toby Jones. There’s never an excuse for Toby Jones.

— Dinos eat some people and roar.
— Don’t forget the dino eyeball close up!
— Will the main characters survive to make yet another movie? Perhaps, as I see one is slated for 2022. And yep, I’ll probably watch it as I’ve seen them all.
The tension and thrill of the original has never been replicated and nothing new is really ever brought to the table in terms of story or thrill. These must still just rake in the cash.
What should be tackle first, the annoying millenials who mouth off to a veteran soldier, because surprise surprise, he’s a corporate baddie, or the hammer-to-the-head speech that permeates through Jeff Goldblum’s just-give-me my damn Jurassic money blank soulless joyless face. This movie is terrible. Not tolerably terrible. Awful. Poorly made, laughable situations, and the silliest set up from a Frankenstein of other movies done better. Who is this J.A. Bayona tool? He’s dumb. That’s for making me suffer through terrible dialogue and a dino-blood transfer.
Volcano going to destroy the park/world where the two dummies harnessed the power and wonder of dinosaurs. Oh no we have to save them!! Enter Claire Dearing. You remember the one who was fleeing for her life? Now runs a cause to protect them. Incidentally, you dummies who wrote this. the Pteradactlys were shown at the end. couldn’t they leave the island whenever. Seriously, this is dumb road we’re going down. Except, a former business partner/dreamer of John Hammond wants to preserve them. So he funds this excursion. By the way, here’s a skeezy looking caretaker of the estate Eli Mills, to deal with the logistics whilst he is bedridden. Yep.
I’m not going to waste any more time with this joyless garbage only that it is dumb beyond words. There was a moment, wait. I have to tell this because it’s so dumb. where Clair and some annoying Millenial they had tag along because he’s a computer geek, are stuck in the travel orb, which falls into the ocean. Our hero, Owen Grady first attempts to shoot out the glass, yes. he does this. Then he surfaces, I think. hard to say, and comes back with. a knife! Yes, a knife, and prys the door loose. My stomach ached from laughing how stupid this was.
Anyway, that was actually the less egregious nonsensical tripe. Kids will enjoy it. Maybe separated kids at the border need a nice diversion.
You would think by now that crazed scientists meddling with Mother Nature would realize that thing are more than likely not going to turn out as they planned. In the very first film character Ian Malcolm warned them that they were messing with things best left untouched. But no one seems to listen.
As a matter of fact in JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM the film opens with Malcolm (again played by Jeff Goldblum) offering that same warning once more. At the end of the last film, JURASSIC WORLD, the concept of a theme park filled with dinosaurs once again crumbled with the dinosaurs attacking and people dying. Isla Nubar, the island where it took place, was left to the dinosaurs and those that survived left. Here we are a few years later with a volcano about to erupt on the island and activists are trying to save the dinosaurs.
Leading that cause is Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) who worked on the island and survived. Not wanting these creatures to return to extinction she pleads her case to anyone who will listen. That would include Benjamin Lockwood (James Cromwell), a billionaire and ex-friend of the park’s original creator John Hammond. With the help of his right hand man Eli Mills (Rafe Spall) he plans on rescuing the dinosaurs at his expense. He does so to honor his friend and to please his granddaughter Maisie (Isabella Sermon).
They need Claire for two reasons. The first is her handprint for security reasons. The second is to recruit Owen Grady (Chris Pratt). It seems Blue, the velociraptor, has evaded them and they know he is the only one who can bring her in. He argues, relents and the next thing you know the two of them along with two other members of Claire’s group are on a plane headed for Isla Nubar.
When they arrive things aren’t quite what they expected. The team in place is not just scientists but mercenaries led by Ken Wheatley (Ted Levine). Trying to work together his men bypass Owen’s demand to back off when he finds Blue and they tranquilize the dinosaur and Owen as well, leaving him behind for the lava coming down the mountain. Claire and one of her group are left behind as well, only the doctor among them kept on hand to insure Blue survives.
It’s a double cross and the saving of the dinosaurs is not the intent of this group. Their safety is important for one reason only, their survival until they can make it back to the mainland at Lockwood’s mansion. Crosses and double crosses follow and soon the real reason for their rescue is learned. Fortunately Owen, Claire and her friends have survived, made it onboard with the dinosaurs and may be able to save them from the plans in store for them.
Like the films in the series before this one the main eye candy here is the dinosaurs. The ability of CGI has boomed since the first film released in 1993. Not only are the dinosaurs that amazed all of us when first seen on board, like the brontosaurus, the geneticists have once more created a new dinosaur that is more dangerous than the last one they created. Ever notice they only create killing dinosaurs and never a cute little dinosaur? The effects with the dinosaurs aren’t the only ones to witness either. The destruction of Isla Nubar via volcano, the dinosaurs that were left behind and the effects of the flowing lava also create some stunning and disturbing visuals.
Perhaps the only thing skimped on in this film is the lack of character development. Certainly after the last film we know the two leads but what about the rest? They’re given short shrift here and we get to know them in bits and pieces which are few and far between. Even Goldblum in his return to the franchise is only on hand for a brief moment at the beginning and in voice over towards the end. Lockwood is glossed over as well and clues about his granddaughter are nowhere to be seen.
But this is a summer blockbuster type film and the important things are the dinosaurs, explosions and action sequences. Trust me when I say this film has plenty of those. They more than compensate for the lack of character development. The freshness of the movie is beginning to wear thin but it still provides a solid piece of entertainment that many will enjoy. Will I watch it a second or third time? Yeah, I think I will. Maybe a marathon weekend. A theme party. The movie is a lot of fun and will fuel the imaginations and nightmares of children who watch and give parents a good bit of action. I highly recommend this one for watching this week and down the road as well.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom was a Jurassic Park sequel and is the fifth entry in the franchise. It was directed by J.A. Bayona and was released on May 21, 2018.
Plot
Three years after the Jurassic World theme park was closed down, Owen and Claire return to Isla Nublar to save the dinosaurs when they learn that a once dormant volcano on the island is active and is threatening to extinguish all life there. Along the way, Owen sets out to find Blue, his lead raptor, and discovers a conspiracy that could disrupt the natural order of the entire planet. Life has found a way, again.
Development
When 2015’s Jurassic World was about to be made, producer Steven Spielberg told director Colin Trevorrow that he wanted several more Jurassic Park films made. Trevorrow later told Spielberg that he would only concentrate on directing one film but in May 2015, he said he wouldn’t be directing the sequel but would be involved in some way. Chris Pratt and Ty Simpkins had signed on for more Jurassic Park films. Trevorrow said the next film might not involve the Jurassic World theme park and that he would be interested in seeing it being made by one of many Spanish horror film directors.
Pre-Production
In July 2015, Universal announced the sequel would be released June 22, 2018 in the United States. Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly would again write the script and it would be produced by Frank Marshall. Trevorrow and Spielberg would serve as executive producers and Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas-Howard would reprise their roles. Later in 2015, B.D. Wong said he would be happy to return as Dr Henry Wu and Dallas-Howard said filming would begin in 2017. J.A. Bayona was rumoured to be directing the film but he chose to direct the World War Z sequel. He later dropped out of the World War Z sequel.
In April 2016, Jeff Goldblum said he wouldn’t be appearing as Ian Malcolm in the film but he was open to the possibility. Later that month, it had been announced that Bayona had signed on to direct the Jurassic World sequel. Bayona was approached for 2015’s Jurassic World but he felt there was not enough time for production. Trevorrow was impressed with Bayona’s 2007 horror film The Orphanage and Trevorrow showed him the second half of the script. Bayona was impressed with the haunted house style of it. In June 2016, Sam Neill was asked if he would return but he said he felt the series had moved on.
The Jurassic World sequel had the working title Ancient Futures and went into full pre-production in July 2016. Storyboards and concept art were being produced. Andy Nicholson was hired as the production designer and spent four weeks with Bayona discussing ideas for the film’s sets. Filming was to begin in Hawaii in February 2017. Trevorrow said Hawaii would be the main filming location but there were also doing some studio shooting in the UK. Trevorrow said the film will feature many new dinosaurs and the film would not involve militarised dinosaurs but they would be mentioned in the story.
When the dinosaurs are transported by boat to the mainland in the second half of the film, Ecuador and Peru were considered as potential filming locations. These places didn’t really work for the film’s story. Parts of the film were shot in England so England was considered. Spielberg felt that England was too far away from where Isla Nublar was supposed to be. They didn’t want to spend too much time on a boat and needed to get to some place quickly.
In September 2016, Bayona confirmed the new film would be the second chapter in a planned Jurassic World trilogy. Jurassic World composer Michael Giacchino said he would return as composer for the fifth film. Óscar Faura was also announced as the film’s cinematographer.
Writing
Steven Spielberg was very much involved in idea for Jurassic World but for the sequel, he left it to Trevorrow and Connolly to create their own. Two weeks after Jurassic World came out, both of them went on a road trip from Los Angeles to Vermont. During the trip, they started to work on the script and come up with a story. Concepts from Michael Crichton’s first two Jurassic Park novels were included as well as dialogue. Isla Nublar’s volcano was included in the first novel and that was featured in the script.
The producers felt it was important to include scenes showing Owen and Claire’s lives after what happened in Jurassic World. At the end of the film, Trevorrow had originally wanted to include more details about the dinosaurs roaming in the world but removed them to keep the story focused on the main story. The film includes elements from a rejected Jurassic Park IV draft from 2004, going back to Isla Nublar with the second half of the film set in a huge Gothic building on the mainland. Weaponizing the dinosaurs was also in the draft.
Trevorrow was going to include Jeff Goldblum’s character Ian Malcolm who appeared in The Lost World. Trevorrow discussed his ideas with Goldblum and he ended up using a lot of dialogue from Crichton’s Jurassic Park novel. The character of Lowery, who was the park control-room employee in Jurassic World, was also going to return in Fallen Kingdom but was replaced with a similar character called Franklin Webb. The characters of Zia and Franklin were young activists who believes in the cause and it was felt that Lowery would have been too cynical.
J.A. Bayona
When Bayona was hired, he began reading both of Crichton’s Jurassic Park novels and re-watched all the movies. Trevorrow and Connolly began working with Bayona in July 2016 to refine their script. The first suggestion Bayona made was to expand the opening underwater scene as it took a while before they got to the action scenes with the volcano. The director also expanded Blue’s surgery scene and added an action scene on board of the Arcadia. He felt the scenes was too lengthy on a boat with nothing happening so a scene was devised with Owen and Claire getting blood from the T-Rex.

Trevorrow said the film would be more suspenseful and scarier than Jurassic World. Bayona said the first half of Fallen Kingdom takes place on an island while the second half moves into a different environment that is more suspenseful, claustrophobic and has a gothic element. In the original draft, dinosaurs were going to be sold and Bayona’s idea was to have the sale changed to an auction to show the greed of the characters.
Casting
Casting began for the role of the nine year old girl in October 2016. 2,500 girls were interviewed but the part went to Isabella Sermon. Tom Holland was in talks for a role at one point but didn’t think he would be available for filming. By the end of 2016, Toby Jones, Rafe Spall and Justice Smith were cast. Daniella Pineda, Ted Levine and James Cromwell were cast at the beginning of 2017. Pineda had auditioned seven times before she got the role. B.D. Wong was confirmed to reprise his role as Dr. Henry Wu. During the casting process, the title Ancient Futures was used and instead of dinosaurs, references to lions and bears were used. Geraldine Chaplin, who had appeared in Bayona’s previous films, joined the cast. In April 2017, it was confirmed Jeff Goldblum would reprise his role as Dr. Ian Malcolm.
Production
Filming began February 24, 2017 and a lot of the filming took place at Pinewood Studios in England. After filming finished there, production moved to Hawaii. Scenes in the film showing Isla Nublar were filmed there. There was a post-credits scene set at the Paris Las Vegas resort where Pteranodons fly around the Eiffel Tower. Some scenes in the film were going to be shot at the Brecon Beacons in Wales but this ultimately didn’t happen.
Fallen Kingdom is the first Jurassic Park film to be shot in CinemaScope with a 2.40:1 aspect ratio as well as filmed exclusively digitally using Arri Alexa 65 cameras. During filming and in between takes, Bayona used to play music and sound effects on the set to inspire the actors. Bayona and Chris Pratt talked about every scene his character Owen was in and many of Chris Pratt’s ideas were used in the film.
When they were filming the characters running in Hawaii, the scene was filmed using the Edge Arm which was a stabilized camera that was attached to a crane. This was mounted to a truck and was driven alongside the actors. This allowed the scenes to be filmed steadily over rough terrain. At one point, Claire and Franklin are riding in a Jurassic World gyrosphere – this was shot in England and at Kualoa Ranch in Oahu, Hawaii. As before, the Edge Arm was used when the gyrosphere was hauled on a trailer. In England, an outdoor rollercoaster was built with a 40-foot drop for the scene where the gyrosphere falls off a cliff into water. The last part of the scene was shot at Pinewood Studios where a huge tank was built filled with water. Owen has to break open the gyrosphere underwater and rescue Claire and Franklin. Fives takes were done over five days and they were all merged together for one shot.
When filming began in England, it took place at the Langley Business Centre in Slough where they filmed the scene taking blood from the T-Rex. The diaries of Owen training the raptors which were mostly improvised by Chris Pratt. Some scenes were filmed at East Berkshire College in Berkshire, at Hartland Park in Fleet, Hampshire and at Loch Long in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. The film’s opening scene was shot there during the night with rain machines and helicopters.
Some scenes were filmed at Hawley Common in Hampshire including the outside of Lockwood’s mansion and the loading dock when the dinosaurs were brought to the mainland. While the exterior of the Arcadia ship was created purely through CGI by Industrial Light & Magic, the inside was built at Pinewood Studios. After filming was finished there, it was repurposed and rebuilt as the Lockwood Mansion rooftop. Some filming took place outside the Cragside country house in Northumberland for the exterior of Lockwood Mansion.
Filming in the United Kingdom ended June 10, 2017 before moving to Hawaii. Filming in Hawaii began June 13, 2017 and lasted over 25 days. Filming locations included Dillingham Airfield, Pua’ena Point and Heʻeia Kea Small Boat Harbor which was the Isla Nublar dock. Filming took place at the He’eia jungle for scenes where Owen is searching for Blue. This is where Owen discovers an overturned Ford Explorer from the original Jurassic Park. Filming moved to Kualoa Ranch featuring the scene outside the radio tower bunker. A lot of the volcanic special effects were digitally created. When filming, cat litter on fire was used to give the actors something to react to.
The Main Street part of the Jurassic World theme park had to be rebuilt for Fallen Kingdom. It had originally been built in Louisiana but was dismantled after filming. It was rebuilt on Police Beach in Hawaii and took three months to be built. The Visitor Center was not rebuilt due to its large size. Filming also took place at Oahu’s Hālona Blowhole. Filming finished on July 8, 2017.
Dinosaurs
Fallen Kingdom features more dinosaurs than any previous film in the series. Bayona wanted to include several new dinosaurs never seen in earlier films including Allosaurus, Baryonyx, Carnotaurus, Sinoceratops and Stygimoloch. In the original script, there was going to be a black Indoraptor and a white Indoraptor. The black one would have killed the white one in the film. The idea for two of them were scrapped. Dilophosaurus was also in the script where Owen and Claire would encounter it in a cage on the Arcadia. This was scrapped as the scenes on the boat already felt too long according to Bayona.
The dinosaurs in Fallen Kingdom were made using both animatronics and CGI. Special effects artist Neal Scanlan was the film’s creature effects supervisor, working on the animatronics, while Vickery and Alex Wuttke were responsible for supervising the visual effects. 52 animators at Industrial Light & Magic across Vancouver and London worked on the movie. ILM did a lot of research to creature the dinosaurs, including speaking to palaeontologists. Dinosaur expert John Hankla from the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, was an advisor on the film. Hankla also provided several dinosaur fossil recreations for the film.
Fallen Kingdom also includes more animatronic dinosaurs than any other Jurassic Park film. Five animatronic dinosaurs were created while Jurassic World only had one. Scanlon spent more than eight months at Pinewood Studios with a crew of 35 people making the dinosaurs. The T-Rex was the first animatronic they need for filming – a full-scale head and shoulders. ILM sent Scanlon a model of the T-Rex from Jurassic World and he used that to make a full-scale 3D print. The T-Rex was used in the scene where Owen and Claire try to get blood from it on the Arcadia. The first parts of the scene were animatronics but the ending of it was done with CGI.
An animatronic of Blue, the velociraptor, was created for the scene when it’s on the operating table. 12 puppeteers were hidden under the table controlling various aspects of it when filming was happening. Two versions of the scene were shot, one with Blue and one without, and they were combined together.
The Indoraptor was created with a mix of CGI and practical effects. A physical head, neck, shoulders, foot and arm were created for close-up shots. When it stands on its two legs, it’s almost 3 metres tall. Black was chosen as the colour of the creature as director Bayona thought it would be more frightening if it was standing in the dark and all you could see was its eyes and teeth.
Post-Production
The Brachiosaurus we see dying in the volcano eruption is supposed to be the same one we saw in Jurassic Park. It was created using the same animations from the first film and was the last shot of the movie to be finished in post-production. The team had difficulty trying to get it right and worked throughout the night to perfect the scene.
The original cut came out at 2 hours, 45 minutes and it was trimmed to 2 hours, 8 minutes. One of the scenes that was cut was a scene showing Zia that she was a lesbian. The scenes weren’t included on the home media releases. The scene showing the Pteranodons was also cut but was re-inserted as a post-credits scene before Fallen Kingdom was released.
Music
The film’s score was composed by Michael Giacchino, who also composed Jurassic World. He incorporated John Williams’ themes from earlier Jurassic Park films into Fallen Kingdom‘s score.
Marketing
The first full length trailer for Fallen Kingdom was released December 7, 2017. Universal later launched a website for the Dinosaur Protection Group which included information about the group and their determination to save the island’s dinosaurs. A second trailer for the film aired during Super Bowl LII on February 4, 2018. The third full trailer was released on April 18th, 2018.
Toy companies Mattel, Lego, and Funko created toys based on the film. Mattel made dinosaurs and action figures, as well as Barbie dolls featuring ones that looked like Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas-Howard. Lego released many Lego sets and characters based on the film. A video game, Jurassic World Evolution, was released alongside the film. A two-part virtual reality miniseries titled Jurassic World: Blue, created by Felix & Paul Studios and ILM, was released for Oculus VR headsets, featuring the velociraptor Blue on Isla Nublar when volcanic eruption occurred.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom had its premiere at the WiZink Center in Madrid, Spain, on May 21, 2018. The film’s international theatrical release began in Singapore and Malaysia on June 7th, before coming to the United Kingdom, India, Italy, South Korea and Angola on June 8th. The film was released in the United States on June 22, 2018.

As of July 2021, 47% of the 428 reviews compiled by Rotten Tomatoes are positive. The website’s critical consensus reads, “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom adds another set piece-packed entry to the blockbuster franchise, although genuinely thrilling moments are in increasingly short supply.” Audiences polled by CinemaScore gave the film an average grade of “A−” on an A+ to F scale. Some critics praised the film’s visuals and its break from the other Jurassic Park films with its darker tone, but received criticism about its screenplay and some had felt the franchise had run its course.

The movie was released digitally on September 4, 2018, and on Blu-ray, DVD, Blu-ray 3D and 4K Blu-ray on September 18, 2018.

И дело даже не в том, что дождливый ночной эпизод явно отсылает к спилберговской классике 1993 года. Просто Байона тоже умеет снимать так, что душа уходит в пятки и сидит там часами, поскуливая от страха и напряжённо вглядываясь в непроглядную бездну. Воистину шикарная сцена, как бы сразу объявляющая на весь кинотеатр: «В этот раз мы всё сделали правильно, сучары. Пристегнитесь, и погнали!»
Мы послушно пристёгиваемся. А потом и вправду летим так, что уши заворачиваются. В чём действительно не откажешь «Миру Юрского периода 2», так это в динамике. Фильм с ходу производит впечатление крепко сбитого, мощного и продуманного произведения. Зритель искренне наслаждается скоростной поездкой по захватывающим дух серпантинам, пока не начинают происходить весьма подозрительные вещи.
Это кашель. Типичный кашель двигателя, тщетно скребущего по дну топливного бака в поисках хотя бы одной капли бензина. Более того, вы замечаете пугающие изменения за окном: красочные горные пейзажи куда-то пропадают, а вместо них вырастает дремучий лес. Гадкие клише и призраки поздних 90-х тянут к вам свои иссохшие ветви, долбят по стёклам, стонут и кряхтят. Вы пытаетесь не замечать их, ведь в салоне машины так тепло и комфортно… Но вопли творческой импотенции становятся всё громче. Вы включаете радио на полную катушку, однако каналы пропадают один за другим. Остаётся лишь белый шум, который злит и сводит с ума.
В реальности ситуация такова: вы всё ещё несётесь к обрыву на полной скорости, но критическое мышление уже не позволяет наслаждаться аттракционом. Предчувствие неизбежной катастрофы превращает поездку в липкий бессвязный кошмар. Самое печальное, что это не задумка режиссёра, отнюдь! Это обескураживающая тупость сценаристов, которые понадёргали избитых до посинения штампов отовсюду, куда только смогли дотянуться.
Судите сами: если героиня отправляется просить помощи у отошедшего от дел альфа-самца, то последний обязательно занят брутальным плотницким ремеслом, точнее — строительством сарая амишей. Если для сюжета необходим бывалый вояка, то почти наверняка это будет заносчивый безмозглый идиот, в лучших вьетнамских традициях собирающий с врагов трофеи. Хитрым злодеям, подсмотревшим свой гениальный злодейский план в «Кинг Конге», будет противостоять криво вплетённая в повествовательную канву девочка, которой для пущей убедительности припаяли личную драму. А в сцене с аукционом разве что Лиама Нисона не хватает, прости господи. Всё это мелочи, но дьявол, как известно, кроется в деталях. И ближе к финалу он явит своё отвратительное рыло во всей красе, будьте уверены.
Важно понимать, что существуют превосходные образчики кино, созданные с оглядкой на старую школу, — тот же «Конг: Остров черепа», например. В том-то и дело, что «Мир Юрского периода 2» цитирует старую школу коряво, невпопад и вообще случайно, ибо заигрывание с классикой заканчивается вместе с открывающей сценой, а банальная глупость остаётся глупостью во все времена.
Вы таки будете смеяться, но «Мир Юрского периода 2» смотрелся бы куда гармоничнее и естественнее, если бы главную мужскую роль в нём сыграл Дуэйн «Скала» Джонсон. Это работает следующим образом: при виде смуглой яйцевидной макушки зритель моментально расслабляется и прекращает обращать внимание на сюжетную тупизну, ибо понимает, что мужик делает великую работу — возвращает те восхитительные времена, когда в кино не стеснялись показывать большие яйца.
Но Скалы тут нет, и это проблема. Самое обидное, что фильм, как уже упоминалось, начинает за здравие: даже странное желание Клэр и Оуэна вернуться на остров Нублар после всех пережитых ужасов не выглядит идиотизмом, ведь создатели потрудились снабдить героев достойной мотивацией. Да, сделано это довольно широкими мазками, но сделано же! Опять же, Байона традиционно силён в драматических сценах. Когда на экране происходит что-нибудь грустное, это действительно грустно. Но не настолько, чтобы закрыть глаза на долбаное шапито с динозаврами.
В несомненные плюсы можно записать твердолобого малыша стегоцераса, олицетворяющего собой весь фильм: такой же упёртый и боевитый, но совсем дурачок. Плюсов вообще немало — это и потрясающе красивые сцены извержения вулкана, и динамика, и эмоциональное напряжение (спасибо режиссёру), и неплохой юмор. Хотя некоторые шутки, строго говоря, вышли неказистыми. Скажем, когда Клэр запрыгивает верхом на динозавра, это вызывает слегка двойственный комичный эффект, ведь Брайс Даллас Ховард окончательно превратилась в настоящую рубенсовскую красавицу. Знойная женщина, мечта поэта!
За умопомрачительные формы Клэр, конскую харизму Криса Пратта и старания постановщика «Миру Юрского периода 2» можно простить многое. В конце концов, это типичное кино со Скалой, только без Скалы. А значит, зрителю хотя бы обеспечен безупречный визуальный аттракцион, если получится ненадолго выключить мозг. Но выключить не получится, потому что проклятым иродам показалось мало. Они сделали столь адовый финт, что «Лига справедливости» со всеми её сюжетными огрехами покажется вам глубокомысленным и умным артхаусом.
Мазафакеры умудрились показать один из самых инфантильных и глупых сюжетных твистов в истории кино, дери их черти. Ещё и попытались оправдаться, переведя стрелки на малолетнего ребёнка. А что с него взять, он же маленький и тупой! Справедливости ради, мотивация этого персонажа как раз понятна (хоть и со скрипом), но попытка авторов состроить хорошую мину при плохой игре откровенно провалилась, ибо ответственность всё равно ложится не на ребёнка, а на взрослых. Точнее — великовозрастных дебилов.
Иными словами, сиквел не просто натягивает сову на глобус. Он натягивает сову на другую сову, которая уже натянута на сраный глобус. Подобные садистские эксперименты не то чтобы злят — они выбешивают. А жаль, ведь в целом «Мир Юрского периода 2» отлично справляется с обязанностями красочного летнего аттракциона. Пусть даже без Скалы.
Большой побег динозавров: рецензия на «Мир Юрского периода 2»
7 июня в прокат выходит «Мир юрского периода 2» — очередная часть франшизы о генетически модифицированных динозаврах, которых люди никак не могут оставить в покое. «Отвратительные мужики» рассказывают, что нового (и старого) можно встретить в новом фильме, и чего от него лучше не ждать, чтобы не испортить себе впечатление.
Снимать новую главу в истории о воскресших в современном мире динозаврах доверили испанскому режиссеру Хуану Антонио Байоне («Приют»), в то время как сценарием занимались авторы прошлой части Дерек Конноли и Колин Треворроу. И это, пожалуй, главное достоинство фильма. Помните, как в прошлой нашей рецензии говорилось о том, что в «Мире юрского периода» маловато своих идей? Будьте спокойны: нас услышали, и теперь их более чем достаточно. Зато теперь меньше красивых кадров с гигантскими динозаврами.
Нет, конечно, величественные схватки ящеров все еще составляют главный аттракцион фильма, и сценарий достаточно изобретательно вводит новые (не самые очевидные) локации. Кстати, знаменитый остров наши герои покидают уже где-то в первой трети фильма, и тема с извержением вулкана тоже раскрыта достаточно эффектно. Но основное действие развернется в огромном готическом особняке, где динозавры, само собой, устроят масштабные разборки с разбегающимися из-под ног людишками.
К этому времени, однако, становится особенно заметной главная проблема фильма: при своем желании затронуть сразу несколько очень интересных тем (от проблем защиты животных до этичности клонирования), сценаристы, кажется, забыли о мелких но важных деталях, создающих минимальное правдоподобие сюжета. Так, например, никто не пытается ловить выпущенного главными героями динозавра, разрушающего клетки в зверинце. Точно также никто из охраны на корабле, набитом агрессивными ящерами, не спешит проверить, что происходит с вопящим в заточении тираннозавром, когда из него извлекают кровь для переливания (не спрашивайте). Про мелочи типа странностей с размером и весом динозавров лучше не упоминать, это далеко не самые важные проколы.

Jurassic World Lagoon
[Underwater. A submarine approaches the gates of the Jurassic World lagoon. It pauses. After a moment, the gates begin opening and the sub goes through. Up top we can see the underwater lights of the submarine as it goes through. Back underweater. The SUB PILOT is calm, but the TECH OPERATOR sitting beside him is nervous and sweating.]
SUB PILOT: Relax. Anything in here’d be dead by now.
[The tech operator isn’t reassured. As they proceed forward along the lagoon bottom, they come upon the skeleton of the Indominus rex illuminated in the submarine’s lights.]
SUB PILOT: There she is. The Indominus rex.
[The tech operator uses claw on the end of a mechanical arm to grab one of the skeleton’s rib bones, and uses a large saw to cut it loose. The claw detaches from the arm and a balloon inflates, carrying the claw, clutching the bone, to the surface with a beeping beacon. Lightning flashes above and we see a dark shadow.]
Main Street
[A thunderstorm is raging. Jurassic World has seen better days. Everything is run down and overgrown with weeds and plants. In a small campsite on Main Street, JACK, a mercenary, works on the machinery controlling the lagoon doors. He’s wearing a headset and has a handheld device of some sort.]
[A Bell UH-1H-BF Iroquois helicopter sits behind him with the engine running, rotor blades spinning. Sitting up front are the HELICOPTER PILOT and the LEAD MERCENARY. Three more MERCENARIES are riding in back.]
SUB PILOT: (through Jack’s headset) Specimen collected. Sent to the surface.
He turns to the waiting chopper.
JACK: Air One, cleared for takeoff. begin tracking.
HELICOPTER PILOT: (through Jack’s headset) Tracking on.
[The helicopter lifts off and flies away. As he watches the aircraft leave, Jack is startled by something moving in the bushes off to his left. We hear a familiar hoot. jack turns around to find the source to no avail.]
Jurassic World Lagoon
[The helicopter locates the balloon attached to the I. rex bone.]
HELICOPTER PILOT: Land One, the asset is secure. We got what we came for. Comin’ back for you. Close the doors.
Main Street
[Back in the campsite, Jack, alone, contacts the submarine.
JACK: Marine One, I gotta close the gates. Get outta there.

[Underwater, the two men in the sub prepare to depart.]
SUB PILOT: Understood. We’re headin’ out.
[The submarine backs up. right into the waiting Mosasaurus revealing it’s massive jaws wide enough to swallow the submarine whole. Up top, we see the underwater light disappear.]
Main Street
[In the mercenaries’ camp, Jack’s handheld device is beeping belligerently at him, telling him the sub’s signal has been lost. He is concerned.]
JACK: Marine One, I need to close the gates. Confirm position.
[The helicopter lands behind him. The helicopter pilot is also concerned and attempting to contact the sub.]
HELICOPTER PILOT: Marine One? Guys?
[The mercenaries’ leader, however, is concerned about something else.]
LEAD MERCENARY: What is that?
JACK: Marine One, I’m closing the gates.

[The lagoon gates begin to shut as we see it lead out to the open sea]
Main Street
[Jack’s device announces that they’re 20% closed.]
JACK: Seriously, guys, I’m kind of exposed out here. Marine One.
[Behind him, the men in the helicopter are shouting.]
HELICOPTER MERC #1: Look behind you!
JACK: (ignoring them) Confirm your route! Marine One!
HELICOPTER MERC #2: Jack!
JACK: Confirm your position! Marine One, where are you!
[He finally looks at the helicopter. The other mercenaries are frantically gesturing and pointing at the treeline behind where he’s working.]
HELICOPTER MERC #3: (making «come here» motions) Come on!
HELICOPTER MERC #1: (pointing) Look behind you!
HELICOPTER MERC #2: Behind you!
[Jack still doesn’t understand.]
JACK: I can’t reach them!
HELICOPTER MERC #3: Come on!
[He can’t hear them over the storm and the roar of the helicopter blades.]
[In a flash of lightning, we see the head of a large dinosaur moving through the trees behind him. Jack turns, but only sees darkness. He turns back to the waiting chopper.]
JACK: What is goin’ on? I can’t hear you!
Suddenly, thunder rumbles. Jack stiffens and turns, screaming as he sees Rexy (movie canon) in another bright flash of lightning. Jack screams full volume as Rexy returns the favor by unleashing a terrifying. Jack proceeds to sprint at top speed dropping the machinery operating the lagoon gates allowing rexy to step on it with the weight alone enough to smash it to pieces right when the gate was 54% complete.]

[The gates stop closing.]
Main Street
[The men in the helicopter watch Jack running underneath them in the chopper’s spotlight. One of them holds a coiled up rescue ladder.]
HELICOPTER MERC #3: Throw him the ladder!
[The mercenary with the ladder complies, dropping it down. However, as the copter is in motion, the frantically running Jack is forced to chase after his salvation with Rexy hot on his heels, even lifting a pick up truck in her way off. Each time he grabs for it, he misses.]
JACK: Don’t go! Aahhh! Oh no!
Jurassic World Lagoon
[The helicopter is over the lagoon now, at the spot where the Mosasaurus broke through the guardrail and grabbed the Indominus rex. The ladder now hangs in the water.]
JACK: No, wait! Don’t go! Aahhh!
[He desperately leaps through the broken section of the guardrail and grabs the ladder. Rexy bites at him and misses. Jack is relieved as the chopper begins to lift up, laughing.]
[Suddenly the ladder jerks and he slips down several rungs. He looks down. The Rexy has bitten the end of the ladder and is pulling, jerking her head from side to side in an effort to pull the helicopter from the sky. Jack is caught in the middle, hanging on for dear life. In the chopper, alarms are going off. The mercenaries’ leader yells back to his men.]
LEAD MERCENARY: We’re gonna stall! Cut it now!
HELICOPTER PILOT: Do it, John!
HELICOPTER MERC #3: We’re gonna die here!
LEAD MERCENARY: I said cut it!
JACK: DON’T DO IT! HELP! THAT’S HORRIBLE! I DON’T WANNA DIE!
[Suddenly, the section of the ladder the Rexy has in her mouth snaps free, and the helicopter is allowed to continue unimpeded across the lagoon. She roars in fury at the departing aircraft. The mercenaries, including Jack, all laugh and cheer.]
HELICOPTER MERC #2: Yeah!
HELICOPTER MERC #1: Come on!
[Suddenly the Mosasaurus leaps up and grabs Jack in her mouth, biting the ladder in half. She drops back down underwater and begins swimming towards the halfway closed gate. In the helicopter, the two mercenaries who fought over whether or not to cut the ladder look stunned and horrified. The third mercenary turns to the I. rex bone, enclosed in a glass tube in a big carrying case. He presses a button and it becomes illuminated with red light, and then he shuts the case.]
HELICOPTER MERC #3: DNA sample secured. Tell the boss we’re comin’ back home.

PHILIPPA THOMAS: (voiceover) The island’s long dormant volcano, reclassified as active, has shown considerable unrest in recent months.
[we cut to a news stage as we see Philippa thomas speaking to the camera]
PHILIPPA THOMAS: Theologists now predict an extinction level event will kill off the last living dinosaurs on the planet.
[we see clips of the main street attack as we see hundreds of people being attacked by pteranodons. then cut to all the guests in a large room beaing treated]
[cut to washington as we see hundreds of activists with picket signs marching through the streets near the state capitol]
PHILIPPA THOMAS: (voiceover) Activist groups have mobilized around the globe, in what has become the flashpoint animal rights issue of our time.
[we cut back to Phillipa in the news room]
PHILIPPA THOMAS With an eruption expected at any moment.
[we cut to see another view of mount sibo before a flyby over the jungle as we see a trio of brachiosaurus grazing on a single tree. they then look to the camera and bellow with curiosity]

[we cut to a large court like room where we see Ian Malcolm speaking to the senators]
IAN MALCOLM: I think. that we should allow our. magnificent, glorious dinosaurs, to be taken out by the volcano.
[the crowd speaks among themselves by what ian had just said]
SENATOR SHERWOOD: Silence, please.
IAN MALCOLM: As deeply sad as that would be. We altered the course of natural history. This is the correction.
SENATOR SHERWOOD: Are you suggesting the Almighty is taking matters in His own hands?
IAN MALCOLM: Senator, with all due respect, God’s not. part of the equation. No. What I mean is that, in the last century, we amassed a landmark technological power. And we’ve consistently proven ourselves incapable of handling that power. 80 years ago, who could’ve predicted nuclear proliferation? But then, there it was. And now, we’ve got genetic power. So. How long is it gonna take for that to spread around the globe and, what’s gonna be done with it? It ain’t gonna stop with the de-extinction of the dinosaurs.
SENATOR SHERWOOD: I’m not sure I know what you’re talking about.
IAN MALCOLM: I’m talking about. man-made, cataclysmic, change.
SENATOR SHERWOOD: What kind of change?
IAN MALCOLM: Change is like death. You don’t know what it looks like until you’re standing at the gates.
[The scene changes to the city where we cut to an elevator revealing Claire Dearing, holding a few coffees. The elevator doors open, but only slightly. She squeezes through, and the doors finally open correctly once she’s out fully.]
ZIA: As a matter of fact, I do have the dinosaurs’ best interests in mind. I’m a paleo-veterinarian
WOMAN ON THE PHONE: Is that a real thing?
ZIA: (She nods, smiling,) That’s a real thing
WOMAN ON PHONE:You’ve seen one?
ZIA: (Annoyed) *No! I hadn’t seen one with my own eyes. you know not everyone can afford to spend their life savings! ZIA: * She beckons Claire over * Claire?
CLAIRE: Hello, hello, um. Congresswoman Delgado, I’m Claire, the lead organizer in here.
CLAIRE: Of course, but if I can just get a moment of your time?
[The woman on the phone agrees.]
CLAIRE: Great. Thank you.
[Claire highfives Zia.]
CLAIRE: ( walking off, saying something, )
FRANKLIN: * To Zia, *That was like 40 seconds. You’re getting better.
ZIA: You gotta stop letting your mom shop for you.
FRANKLIN: You don’t need to insult me everytime someone pisses you off.
ZIA: Dude. I’m a doctor. Not a telemarketer. What is your job again? You plug in cords, right?
FRANKLIN: It’s actually more important than it sounds.
CLAIRE: Can I ask you a question?
CLAIRE: Do you have kids?
CLAIRE: Okay, so your kids, An entire generation has grown up in a world where dinosaurs are living and breathing. But soon you’re gonna have to watch them go extinct. Or not. If people like you make a difference.
[The woman agrees to help.]
CLAIRE: Great. Yes! (She turns to Zia, smiling. )
[the news turns on to reveal senator sherwood in front of a large crowd]
MAN: Hey, hey. Turn it up.
[Claire does so as they all listen]
SENATOR SHERWOOD. take preventative action to protect the dinosaurs on Isla Nublar. After thorough deliberations, the committee has resolved not to recommend any legislative action regarding the de-extinct creatures on Isla Nublar. This is an act of God, and while of course, we feel great sympathy for these. animals, we cannot condone government involvement, on what amounts to a privately-owned venture.
[Claire looks in horror as she proceeds to mute the T.V before looking away>
CLAIRE: They’re all gonna die and no one cares.
[A voice speaks up. It’s Franklin.]
CLAIRE: Give me one second. Let’s get back to work. Okay everyone. Come on.
[She walks over to her desk, and picks up her ringing phone.]
IRIS CAROLL: May I speak with Ms. Dearing?
CLAIRE: Yes, this is Claire Dearing.
IRIS CAROLL: Good morning. I’m calling from Mr. Benjamin Lockwood’s estate. Would you mind holding for a second?
CLAIRE: ( Amazed and surprised.) Yes, of course. I’ll hold.
Scene 3
Lockwood Manor
[The scene cuts to a car driving up the manor. We soon get to see Claire Dearing step out of her car. She walks up to the door, and it opens, revealing Iris.]
IRIS CAROLL: Ms. Dearing, you’re early. Would you like to step in?
CLAIRE DEARING: Thank you.
IRIS CAROLL: I will inform Mr. Mills that you’ve arrived.
[She walks away. Claire walks around, looking at the portraits of men, and she stops. She looks at John Hammond’s portrait and she walked over to it, before hearing a voice.]
ELI MILLS: John Alfred Hammond. The father of Jurassic Park. But of course, you know that.
[He walks down the stairway towards Claire.]
ELI MILLS: Hello, Claire, I’m, I’m Eli. Mills. I work for Ben Lockwood. We actually met once, 7-8 years ago, and you don’t remember.
CLAIRE DEARING: ( Smiling,) Of course, I remember. Haven’t you run his foundations since.
ELI MILLS: Since college. Yeah. You remember?
CLAIRE DEARING: Yes!
ELI MILLS: Wow, cool. He wanted someone young, and, idealistic to expand his fortune. And I used to be both.
They both laugh together.
ELI MILLS: Follow me.
They both walk into another room, which carries a lot of dinosaur related things.
ELI MILLS: Let me give you a bit of history. This is where it all began. Before the islands, Sorna, Jurassic Park, all of it. Hammond and Lockwood built custom lab in a sub-basement extracted the first DNA from amber, right beneath our feet.
CLAIRE DEARING: ( Happily,) My goodness! What they did here was a miracle I still believe that.
ELI MILLS: So do I, Claire. So do I, and I still believe it matters, what happens to those animals. There is something Mr. Lockwood would very much like you to do, Claire. You can call it a favor for an old friend. We have, a piece of land. A sanctuary. Protected by natural barriers, fully self-sustaining. A new home where the dinosaurs will be secure. And free.
CLAIRE DEARING: You’re gonna get them out? You’re gonna save them?
Suddenly, there is another voice. It’s Ben Lockwood, who’s ill.
BEN LOCKWOOD: No, Ms. Dearing. I’m going to save us. We could both use a touch of redemption, couldn’t we?
He rolls over and grabs her hand.
BEN LOCKWOOD: Lovely to see you again.
CLAIRE DEARING: And you, Mr. Lockwood.
BEN LOCKWOOD: This was all John Hammond’s dream. To let these creatures live in peace. So, we have created sanctuary. No fences, no cages, no tourists. Just as Mother Nature intended. John said it best. «These creatures don’t need our protection.» «They need our absence.» When we were young, we both shared this passion, John and I. What fools we were. Trying to run before we’d learn to walk. As all young men do, I suppose. But, we learned. Unfortunately in the end, it drove us apart. Life, teaches us some very hard lessons. Doesn’t it, Claire?
CLAIRE DEARING: ( Nodding,)Yes.
IRIS CAROLL: Sir Benjamin.
BEN LOCKWOOD: Hmm? My bloody medicines. Would you excuse me, Claire?
CLAIRE DEARING: Of course, sir.

Maisie: Grandpa? Grandpa? Grandpa, wake up. Grandpa. Grandpa, wake up. Wake up!
Hey! Wait. Please, please, wait. That’s Lockwood’s granddaughter. Hey. Hey, kid. You wanna come down out of there? Do you remember me? My name is Claire. What’s yours?
Maisie: Maisie. Maisie Lockwood.
Clarie: Maisie. This is my friend, Owen.
I saw you, with the velociraptors. And Blue. Oh, yeah? You like dinosaurs? So do I. Tell you what, you come on down from there, I’ll tell you everything you need to know about Blue. That sound all right? Alright. Yeah. Come on down. Sweetie. We need some help finding your grandfather. Can you take us to him?
Maisie: [whimpering] No.
ELI: Don’t! You two, deserve each other. Maisie, come with me.
CLAIRE: You got your money. Walk away.
ELI: What are you gonna do, huh?
CLAIRE: We’re gonna stop this. All of it!
ELI: How? What, you’re gonna go back in time before Hammond decides to play god? You can’t put it back in the box!
CLAIRE: We have to try.
ELI: It’s too late. Maisie, come. So, you’re gonna take care of her now? Huh? You have no idea what she is. What do you think drove Hammond and Lockwood apart, huh? Lockwood never had a grandchild. He just wanted his daughter back. And he had the technology. He created another. He made her again.
ZIA: This blood’s contaminated.
WU: I designed this animal myself. It’s pure. Every cell of her body was created in a most controlled environment under the most demanding conditions.
ZIA: Yeah, but I did an intravenous blood transfusion with a T-Rex, so, it’s a sock drawer in there.
[The gas continues to spill into the room. The gas passes through the metal grates and into the cages of the dinosaurs, including a SInoceratops, trying to escape but cannot. Claire, Owen, Zia, Franklin and Maisie arrive in the room. The cries of the dinosaurs are heard.]
Claire:They’re all dying.
Zia: The blast damaged the ventilation system.
Franklin: We did everything we could.
Claire: I can open the gates from here.
Owen: Claire, be careful. We’re not on an island anymore.
Owen: Claire. You press that button, there is no going back.
Claire: We can’t let them die.
Maisie: I had to. They’re alive. Like me.
Owen: Hey, girl. Owen. It’s okay. She won’t hurt us. Blue, come with me. We’ll take you to a safe place, okay?

«Мир Юрского периода» Колина Треворроу был редким примером ребута/сиквела, который одинаково благосклонно приняли как критики, так и зрители – фильм удостоился преимущественно лестных рецензий и заработал по миру более полутора миллиардов долларов, однозначно намекнув на то, что динозавры снова в тренде. Продолжение выходит спустя три года – вроде бы достаточное время для того, чтобы придумать что-то захватывающее, эффектное и хотя бы относительно неожиданное, но, увы, авторов хватило только на то, чтобы повторить путь оригинальной трилогии – во всех смыслах.
Хотя трейлеры фильма посвящают значительную часть времени приключениям героев на острове, на деле еще до истечения первого часа действие переносится на материк, а затем и вовсе запирается в четырех стенах гигантского поместья Локвуда, где на свободу вырывается очередной генетически модифицированный мета-динозавр – еще более умный, ловкий и смертоносный, чем Индоминус Рекс из первого «Мира». По схожему принципу был построен и «Парк Юрского периода 2» – возможно, самый слабый в оригинальной трилогии. А самое печальное, что теперь на этот титул претендует «Мир Юрского периода 2».
Можно сделать вид, что мы любим подземные коридоры и тесные клетки не меньше, чем бескрайние джунгли, но трудно не заметить, что сценаристы выдавили из себя этот сюжет ценой целой охапки допущений и условностей. Во-первых, теперь Клэр – не «деловая женщина» со стальной бизнес-хваткой, а трепетная активистка, которая за динозавров чуть ли не мать родную продаст. Но это еще цветочки по сравнению с тем, как досталось от авторов сиквела этим самым динозаврам. Так, Блю (лидер рапторов из первой картины) теперь лишь немногим опаснее бультерьера – оказывается, Оуэн с ее детства знал, что Блю способна на эмпатию, стоит за «своих» горой и чуть ли не виляет хвостиком при его виде. И это после того, как в первой ленте он неоднократно подчеркивал, что «дрессировка» рапторов – штука крайне относительная, и это опасные хищники, которые не моргнув глазом сожрут даже своего «хозяина», если будут не в настроении, а тот повернется к ним спиной!
В сюжете фильма отчетливо просматривается прозападная установка на тему толерантности, из-за чего события трудно не спроецировать на актуальную до сих пор тему беженцев. Фильм всеми силами намекает, что каждое существо имеет право на жизнь, и не стесняется напоминать, что «мы в ответе за тех, кого приручили», но при этом упрямо не замечает, что исключительно этот подход и приводит к смертям и трагедиям. Просто так получилось, что в контексте «Мира Юрского периода 2» на тот свет отправляются исключительно «плохие люди» (те, кто хотят зарабатывать на динозаврах, те, кто на этих дельцов работает, ну и всякая богатая шваль, решившая прикупить спиногрызу ручного динозаврика), но в финале эта хрупкая «отмазка» перестает работать – и становится совершенно очевидно, что главные герои сами виноваты во всем, что происходит с ними и, к сожалению, окружающими их людьми.
И даже если этот глобальный моральный просчет сценаристов вы каким-то образом проглотите, вряд ли «Мир Юрского периода 2» вас впечатлит. Хуан Антонио Байона намного хуже, чем Колин Треворроу в первом фильме, чувствует ритм, держит саспенс и оформляет экшен, сценарий очень явно «потупел», а динозавры, как ни крути, все-таки куда эффектнее смотрятся в естественной среде обитания, чем когда катаются на лифтах и таранят головой стены тюремных камер.
Общее тоскливое впечатление от сиквела чуть выправляет появление индораптора – очередного «искусственного» динозавра, который намного сообразительнее предшественников и активно пользуется передними конечностями, но ничего принципиально нового сценаристы для него не придумали – за Крисом Праттом и Брайс Даллас Ховард (они тоже смотрятся здесь далеко не так интересно, как в первом фильме) он бегает примерно так же, как бегал бы любой другой динозавр. Как на «Мир Юрского периода 2» отреагирует зритель и, соответственно, будет ли продолжен цикл, пока непонятно, но по качеству это один из самых разочаровывающих блокбастеров последних лет.
When the group arrived, they managed to secure several dinosaurs. The other lead found a Compsognathus and kept her as a pet. Claire noticed Owen missing and figured he was looking for Blue. Owen meets and almost reconnect with Blue until she gets shocked by Ingen soldiers. Owen escapes just as the volcano erupts. The trio were soon pursued by a Carnotaurus sent by InGen to finish off any witnesses. But she failed as she was pinned down by Rexy.
The humans and the dinosaurs fled from the volcano and many of them survived by jumping into the ocean but would later be captured by InGen. After a brief fight with a Mosasaurus using their submarine, Owen, Claire and the other lead were taken to the mainland England where there was a facility there housing Dinosaurs and the new Hybrid project. Owen and Claire are brought to Henry Wu who has continued his experiments and using data from previous test subjects who fought each other in a Colosseum like arena. He even acquired several from Isla Sorna including a Buck and Doe along with their child. The Buck and Doe are dead but not before taking a dozen hybrids with them but their son lives on who has grown to a mature T. rex and defeated the Spinosaurus by impaling it against some trees. Thus the Indoraptor was created and Owen and Claire would be to watch as Blue would be the subject of the Indoraptor’s wrath after it killed a raptor pack leader.
However what Ingen didn’t expect was that a massive hurricane hit their facility which even though was stated to be able to prevent natural disasters but failed and cause all systems to shut down. Meanwhile, the other lead defeat the guards by using the Compsognathus as a distraction. As this happens, all the pens containing the dinosaurs and Hybrids including more Indoraptors were released. Owen and Claire escaped and rescued Blue. The main Indoraptor pursued but would be killed when the automatic door went haywire and decapitated its head.
Rexy will meet Junior and the two fight off the remaining Indoraptors. Blue encounters the leaderless Velociraptor pack and Blue proved herself worthy to be their leader. Back to Rexy, she smashed open the main gate allowing freedom to the Dinosaurs and crushed many Ingen employees during their stampede. Owen and Claire met up with Blue and finally they were able to reconnect. Wu attempts to escape but gets killed by another Hybrid, the Dilophosaurus.
The Dinosaurs caused mass havoc on London, England. The military arrived and Owen has a plan but they won’t like it. Riding on a bike, Owen lead Blue and the Raptors to coral the Dinosaurs while the military use the helicopters to do the same. With it, the Dinosaurs were place in isolated areas until they were evacuated. The film ends with the commission of the Hammond Wild Life Preserve, Congo, Africa where the Isla Nublar surviving Dinosaurs would live there. Owen decides to stay there to raise Blue while Rexy adopts Junior as her son with Rexy roaring in her new Kingdom.
The first half of the film is the stated ‘rescue the dinosaurs before the volcano erupts’ plot. Claire, Owen, and the others arrive on Isla Nublar and manage to evacuate many of the dinosaurs, including Rexy, who is badly wounded in the escape.
With Isla Nublar destroyed and sunken into the ocean, the group heads to the mainland, where it’s revealed the dinosaurs were actually rescued so they could be experimented on, including beasts from Isla Sorna (such as the same Spinosaurus from the third film). It’s there that the Indoraptor makes it’s appearance, and the film shifts into it’s horror phase: The Indoraptors run amok in an enclosed scientific facility where all the other dinosaurs are kept, and it’s put on lockdown to keep anyone from getting in or out. The reason is because Indoraptor is fast, strong, hard to kill, intelligent, and, worst of all, has accelerated growth. Coupled with its high reproductive rate (self-fertilizing?), and it becomes the reptillian version of the Xenomorph from the Alien franchise. If the species escapes into the wild, it could become a nightmare scenario where they spread like wildfire, killing everything in their path and resisting all human attempts to stop them, which could lead to our extinction, and a new era of dinosaurs inheriting the earth.
In the chaos that follows, everyone teams up to try and stop the Indoraptors. Wu is killed by the Indoraptors, and eventually Claire and Owen become so desperate that they once again release Rexy to try and stop the beasts, even though she’s still wounded (the scene from the trailer where she’s inside a shipping crate), along with the spinosaurus. The threat posed by the Indoraptors causes Rexy, Blue, and the smarter rescued dinosaurs to team up with the surviving humans, and though massive casualties are inflicted (the spinosaurus will likely die from being swarmed by the Indoraptors) the Inodraptors are finally defeated. The day is saved, Rexy and Blue live, and humanity is safe.
. Until one Indoraptor egg hatches, and the infant scurries out of the facility, unnoticed by all.
As for Isla Sorna nothing from the DPG site has been confirmed in any an way in the film and as such cannot be taken as a fact. Alternatively they were simply unable to remove all of the dinosaurs from the Island.
1) Throughout the movie the Indoraptor seems oddly interested in Maisie, slowly reaching for her instead of lunging for the kill on two separate occasions, abandoning two easily trapped prey (Claire and Owen) in favor of chasing her around, and doesn’t seem to toy with her maliciously like he does with Wheatley and the auction attendees.
2) In the last movie Owen described how much of the Indominus rex’s actions were a result of running on instinct alone, which namely would have been her hunting instincts due to her base gene template being a T.rex, an apex predator. Here, as the result of having the base template of a raptor, the Indoraptor could be acting upon its pack forming instincts much more than its predecessor.
It’s possible this is why he was assigned to the raptor project, him being more durable would make him more likely to survive the experience.
If this theory and the theory that Maisie is more than human are both true then Owen may reveal this fact and how he dealt with his changes to help her come to terms with her own.
1. It will feature a new species of raptor, most likely Pyroraptor.
2. BioSyn will return.
3. It will involve feathered dinosaurs.
Given these facts, here is one scenario by which I think feathered dinosaurs could be introduced to the franchise without disrespecting the existing canon.
Picture this. It’s been a year since the breakout at Lockwood Manor, and dinosaurs are now roaming the world once again. There are calls that the dinosaurs should be destroyed, since they do not belong on modern-day earth, something that the DPG is opposed to. BioSyn, on the other hand, wants to round up the dinosaurs and kill them. They know this would be an unpopular move thanks to people like Owen and Claire who believe that the dinosaurs were on Earth before humans and as such have a right to live there.
So what does BioSyn do? They create feathered dinosaurs, in an effort to prove that InGen’s dinosaurs actually aren’t the real thing and therefore, by their own logic, have no right to exist. This would have the bonus of defaming InGen as a whole and invalidating the very premise of their work, while boosting BioSyn’s stock through the roof. By «proving» that InGen’s dinosaurs are frauds, BioSyn would be able to turn public attention against InGen. And what better way to do that than by showing people what real dinosaurs looked like?
So it is likely that in Jurassic World: Dominion, The humans will gradually adapt to dinosaurs as in Dragon Ball, although they would have to avoid meeting dangerous carnivore dinosaurs such as Tyrannosaurus Rex, Velociraptors, the Compsognathus, the Carnotaurus, ect.

С потолка начинает сочиться лава, которая не позволяет динозавру сразу же добраться до людей. Герои сбегают через лестничный люк, заперев его за собой.
Выбравшись на поверхность, герои видят выбегающего из леса Оуэна, который кричит, что им нужно бежать. Тут же из леса появляются всевозможные обитатели острова, спасающиеся от извержения. Убегая, герои наталкиваются на гиросферу и прячутся за неё. После того, как большинство динозавров пробежало, они хотят уехать на ней, но тут Оуэн замечает карнотавра, который нападает на гиросферу, но почти тут же становится жертвой тираннозавра, который после этого убегает дальше. Клэр и Франклин едут на гиросфере, но впереди их ждёт обрыв в океан, куда они и падают. Бегущий позади Оуэн успевает прыгнуть вслед за ними и открыть тонущую гиросферу.
Герои оказываются выброшенными на пляж, неподалёку от корабля наёмников, куда те в спешке грузят пойманных динозавров. Клэр понимает, что Элай и Кен обманули их. Героям удаётся в последний момент запрыгнуть внутрь уплывающего корабля на грузовике. Уплывая, они видят на пристани брахиозавра, драматично погибающего в облаках дыма.
Начинается аукцион по продаже фауны острова Нублар, на который съезжаются десятки богачей со всего света. В это время герои пробираются за некую решётку, украшающую стенки зала, и наблюдают за показом. После продажи всех пойманных динозавров, Миллс и Эверсолл демонстрируют Индораптора, реагирующего на специальные лазерные сигналы, чем сильно шокируют героев. Несмотря на то, что гибрид не предназначался для продажи, богачи предлагают за него огромные деньги, из-за чего Миллс в конце концов открывает торги, несмотря на протесты Ву.
Чтобы сорвать аукцион, Оуэн запускает в лифт раннее освобождённого стигимолоха, который устраивает в зале погром. Оуэн вступает в бой с охраной. Видя убегающих из здания людей, Уитли заходит внутрь и обнаруживает запертого Индораптора. Так как он коллекционирует зубы динозавров, Уитли принимает решение под шумок усыпить динозавра и вырвать у него очередной зуб для своей коллекции. Однако хищник только сделал вид, что уснул, а потому, когда Уитли открывает клетку и пытается вырвать зуб, убивает его и выбирается на волю. Эверсолл, вместе с некоторыми богачами, укрывается в лифте. В последний момент набирая код для закрытия дверей, Гуннар считает, что всё обошлось, но Индораптор при помощи хвоста выводит из строя панель лифта, что приводит к открытию дверей и гибели всех находящихся внутри.
Оуэн, Клэр и Мэйзи оказываются под прицелом двух охранников и Элая. Тот пытается подозвать к себе девочку, но та отказывается. После чего Миллс говорит, что Джон Хаммонд и Локвуд поссорились именно из-за того, что последний решил воссоздать свою погибшую дочь (якобы маму Мэйзи) в виде клона, которым Мэйзи и является. Но неожиданно появляется Индораптор, который убивает охранников Элая, что даёт героям шанс убежать.
В это время, Ву вместе с другими учёными собирается спасти и увезти в безопасное место образцы ДНК Индоминуса Рекса, а также Блю. Франклина же вновь принимают за обслуживающий персонал. Ву говорит Зие, что раптор нужен здоровым, и что его ДНК абсолютно чисто для выведения дальнейших гибридов. Зия говорит ему о переливании в раптора крови тираннозавра, чем шокирует учёного и выводит его из себя. Франклин усыпляет Ву, но героев окружает охрана. Зия открывает клетку с Блю и выпускает её на свободу. Раптор убивает охрану и даёт героям шанс спастить, сама чудом избегая гибели от взрыва газового баллона, повреждённого охраной.
В это время Элай собирается уехать с образцом кости Индоминуса Рекса, но замечает открывшиеся ворота и бегущих оттуда динозавров. Он прячется под машину, но роняет образцы. Когда динозавры пробегают, Миллс вылезает и подходит подобрать образец. Позади него появляется карнотавр, собирающийся атаковать, но неожиданно из зарослей появляется тираннозавр, который съедает Элая, отпугивает карнотавра и уничтожает образец ДНК Индоминуса Рекса.
Герои выходят из особняка и встречают Блю. Оуэн вновь общается с ней, после чего она убегает.
Ян Малкольм в Сенате высказывает предположение, что скоро начнётся эра, в которой люди и доисторические существа будут вынуждены сосуществовать («На Земле грядёт новый Юрский период»). В это же время показывают кадры, как освободившийся в начале фильма мозазавр атакует туристический пляж, а также как тираннозавр ломает ограду и попадает в вольер со львами зоопарка, тем самым открывая хищникам путь к свободе. Оуэн, Клэр и Мэйзи едут в джипе по побережью, а велоцираптор Блю встречает восход.
В сцене после титров показаны птеранодоны, прилетающие ночью в Лас-Вегас.

Фильм Мир Юрского периода 2 является уже пятой главой знаменитого семейного приключения из цикла «Парк Юрского периода», базируясь на книгах писателя Майкла Крайтона. Продолжая современный научно-фантастический Мир Юрского периода, он вернёт на экраны ряд уже запомнившихся и полюбившихся персонажей, в том числе к радости поклонников ранних фильмов франчайза появится даже доктор Йен Маклькольм в исполнении Джеффа Голдблюма (День независимости: Возрождение, Тор: Рагнарёк). Режиссёром картины стал испанский постановщик Хуан Антонио Байона (Голос монстра, Невозможное).
Отправной точкой сюжета станет природная катастрофа на острове Исла-Нублар, где-таки был открыт знаменитый парк развлечений с настоящими живыми динозаврами. Теперь дикой природе и всем обитателям этого места угрожает извержение вулкана. А значит, необходимо вывести доисторических ящиков на материк, спасая редкие дорогостоящие виды, воскрешённые чудесами современной науки. Да так, чтобы чудовища не сбежали, не напали на людей, а хищники не съели травоядных. Некоторые же и вовсе выступают в конгрессе против сохранения древних видов, которым было давным-давно суждено умереть и исчезнуть. И очень важным вопросом является, где же теперь разместить этих созданий, если парк после открытия обратился настоящей катастрофой. Открытие подобных заведений теперь под большим вопросом. Вот только жизнь всегда сама находит выход, и приключения пришедшим на спасение динозавров Клэр и Оуна только начинаются.
Актёрский состав фильма возглавляют на этот раз вновь Брайс Даллас Ховард (Пит и его дракон, Золото) и Крис Пратт (Стражи Галактики, Пассажиры). В картине также появятся Джеймс Кромвелл, Тед Левайн, Тоби Джонс, Даниэлла Пинеда, а к своим ролям из прошлых частей вернутся Б. Д. Вонг и Джэфф Голдблюм. Музыку для этой фантастической приключенческой картины написал композитор Майкл Джаккино (Зверополис, Головоломка, Тайна Коко). Дата премьеры в кинотеатрах России назначена на 7 июня 2018 года.
После ряда смешных тизеров Universal Pictures выпустила первый полноценный трейлер фильма Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, известного у нас как «Мир юрского периода 2».
По сюжету фильма герои Криса Пратта и Брайс Даллас Ховард возвращаются на остров из «Мира юрского периода», чтобы каким-то образом спасти динозавров от грядущего катаклизма. Но извержение вулкана происходит не по графику, и Пратту с Ховард приходится удирать от стада взбесившихся динозавров и извергающегося вулкана на уцелевшей после первого фильма прозрачной сфере.
Качество сценария Колина Треворроу и Дерека Коннолли (явно написанного очень поспешно, в перерывах между другими, более важными проектами) удручает уже по трейлеру. Мало того что это все наглый плагиат с фильма и книги The Lost World: Jurassic Park — только с добавленными вулканами, — в этих несчастных двух минутах герои говорят и ведут себя до ужаса предсказуемо.
Над интересным и нестандартным поведением персонажей в сценарии надо работать, это невозможно написать сразу, в первом черновом варианте… но первый «Мир» оказался таким коммерчески успешным, а сроки съемок сиквела так поджимали, что студия запустила в производство первый черновник Треворроу и Конноли, не потрудившись пригласить хотя бы «доктора», специалиста по переписыванию чужих сценариев и созданию интересных ситуаций. Разумеется, Пратт встречает в джунглях Blue, своего ручного велоцираптора из первого фильма. Ну конечно, его в последний момент спасает от другого хищника тираннозавр, который затем становится в позу из самого первого «Парка». Ну сколько раз можно использовать этот сюжетный прием?!
Единственная искупающая часть сценария — остроумные диалоги, которые в принципе не переводятся на русский. Посмотрите, насколько убого звучит начало дублированного трейлера:
В оригинале Пратт спрашивает:
Are you dating a ventriloquist now? You love a dummy.
Значит, встречаешься с каким-нибудь клоуном? Ну точно с идиотом.
В оригинале ventriloquist — кукловод или марионеточник, «ты встречаешься с марионеточником?», что замотивировано продолжением «тебе всегда нравились dummy» (тупари, безмозглые куклы-марионетки). В русском дубляже от всего этого не останется и следа — как и в первом фильме. Во всей редакции «Канобу» я единственный — огромный фанат первого «Мира юрского периода», в первую очередь из-за остроумного сценария Треворроу и Коннолли, очень удачно адаптировавшего оригинальный «Парк» к 2010-м, где никого уже не удивишь живыми динозаврами.
В Fallen Kingdom этого качества не чувствуется. Несмотря на типичную для дуэта остроумную идею (спасаем динозавров от очередной гибели в результате природного катаклизма!) трейлер представляет собой крайне нетворческое нагромождение сцен из чужих фильмов, от первых двух «Парков» до «Острова черепа». К этому добавлены сцены с Джеффом Голдблюмом, которому авторы не потрудились даже написать оригинальные строчки диалога — он просто читает свой текст из романа Майкла Крайтона «Парк юрского периода», не вошедший в первый фильм всего франчайза!
Остается режиссура Хуана Антонио Байоны, который вроде как пытался снимать второй «Мир» в духе своего серьезного фильма-катастрофы «Невозможное». Режиссера «Мира 2» очень долго искали после того, как Колин Треворроу ушел делать 9 эпизод «Звездных войн», с которого его вместе с Конноли уволили.
Но согласитесь, что эту сцену с катящейся сферой, извергающимся на заднем плане вулканом и сыплющимися в воду стегозаврами мог перенести из сценария на экран абсолютно любой режиссер — это скорее работа для специалистов по визуальным эффектам, нежели задача для постановщика. Авторского стиля, как у Стивена Спилберга, Питера Джексона или хотя бы режиссера «Острова черепа» Джордана Вота-Робертса, в трейлере совершенно не чувствуется.
Подводя итог: пока Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom мне представляется классическим сделанным по ускоренному графику фильмом-разочарованием, дрянным продолжением сверхуспешного блокбастера, в недостатках которого виноваты занятость сценаристов на других проектах и долгие и безуспешные поиски режиссера-автора. Так ли это или нет, мы сможем убедиться уже 7 июня 2018 года, когда «Мир юрского периода 2» выйдет на российские экраны.

It’s hard to know where its sequel, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, would fit within that thinly veiled metaphor. Director J.A. Bayona (A Monster Calls, The Orphanage) brings a darker, horror-minded sensibility to the material, but it’s an uneasy match with the franchise’s Spielbergian moments of whimsy and wonder. Rather than amping up the scale and spectacle, the latest franchise installment trades the vast landscapes of Isla Nublar for a claustrophobic setting that ultimately makes the whole thing feel like little more than an average haunted house flick. And the script, by Trevorrow and longtime co-writer Derek Connolly, repeats all the mistakes of the first Jurassic World, while taking so many new bizarre leaps of logic that it becomes difficult to suspend disbelief. They may have wanted Fallen Kingdom to be a self-aware blockbuster asking interesting questions, but they ended up with the kind of dumb, cynical blockbuster that the first Jurassic World was warning audiences against.
The film opens several years after Jurassic World. The park on Isla Nublar has fallen into ruin, and an active volcano is now threatening the lives of all the creatures left on the island. The US government is holding hearings on whether the dinosaurs should be rescued — Jeff Goldblum’s Ian Malcolm briefly pops in to offer his testimony — though they ultimately decide not to intervene.
But Jurassic World’s Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) has become an animal rights activist, and is trying to lobby support to save the creatures from extinction. She’s contacted by an old acquaintance named Eli Mills (The Ritual’s Rafe Spall), who works for billionaire philanthropist Benjamin Lockwood (James Cromwell). In a bit of convoluted backstory, Lockwood originally worked with Jurassic Park creator John Hammond (the late Richard Attenborough) until they had a falling-out. Lockwood wants to save the Isla Nublar dinosaurs as a testament to his old friend, and has created a secret island sanctuary where they can live in peace, without humanity meddling. But to pull off the secret rescue mission, Mills needs somebody with park expertise, and that’s where Claire comes in. They also need help capturing the velociraptor Blue, who they prize for her superior intelligence, so Mills asks Claire to bring in Blue’s trainer, Owen Grady (Chris Pratt).
This all sounds like a perfectly serviceable narrative setup. There’s undoubtedly a story to be told about a noble dinosaur-rescue mission that goes horribly awry, and the plotline dovetails nicely with the warning bells the film sounds about the dangers of genetic manipulation. But the creators of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom seem utterly disinterested in their own premise, and they rush through this bit of storytelling as quickly as possible, pushing forward until the story can leave the island altogether.
Fallen Kingdom’s first act feels like a Jurassic Park greatest-hits reel. There’s a technician stalked by a dinosaur in the rain. A young hacker named Franklin (The Get Down’s Justice Smith) works magic rebooting the park’s systems. Owen patiently tracks Blue through the forest, until the Bad Guys Who Don’t Get It (led by Ted Levine) shoot her with a tranquilizer. It’s as if the filmmakers are rotely checking off a list of Jurassic Park signifiers, and their apathy is palpable.
Bayona’s work is the only exception. Throughout his career, he’s excelled at building tension and creating atmospheric unease, and on a sheer filmmaking level, that’s no different here. Occasionally, he even gets to fully embrace his horror-movie sensibilities. But all too often, the script hinders the impact. Fallen Kingdom’s characters are so bland and thinly written that the actors have little to do but look scared and run around, making it nearly impossible to care about what actually happens to them. One particularly bravura moment, a single-shot sequence in which Owen has to rescue Claire and Franklin from a gyrosphere that’s been thrown into the ocean, is remarkable not for Bayona’s technical skill, but in how emotionally unaffecting it actually is.

Fallen Kingdom’s main twist — if you can use that term for something that’s spoiled extensively in the trailers — is that Mills is actually trying to capture the dinosaurs so he can sell them on the black market. His plans include yet another new genetic hybrid — this time, something they’ve dubbed the “Indoraptor.” To its credit, Fallen Kingdom doubles down on making the audience emotionally invest in the dinosaurs as actual animals. One moment in the first half of the film, where a dinosaur faces certain doom, is more emotionally affecting than anything that happens to the human characters. And the attempts to make the dinosaurs relatable and realistic are all driving toward exploring the moral implications of genetic engineering. If an animal is brought back from extinction, should it then be protected as an endangered species? If something is created by man, does it have the same right to exist as something created by nature?
Like its predecessor, Fallen Kingdom is overstuffed with ethical conundrums, and not sophisticated enough to fully engage with them. And the movie’s villains become such cartoony caricatures that it’s impossible to take Fallen Kingdom’s attempted philosophical musings seriously. This is the kind of movie where the audience knows Mills is bad because he yells at a kid, and dinosaurs are auctioned off to an international group of would-be Bond villains. It’s all absurd — even for a movie about man-made dinosaurs — and it becomes even more ridiculous when the movie leaves behind the grand, epic vistas of Isla Nublar for a much smaller dinosaur jail located beneath Lockwood’s estate. Normally, the creatures lend this series a built-in sense of awe and wonder. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom strips that majesty away and turns the focus on the human characters, who are markedly unengaging.
Viewers who aren’t already invested in Owen and Claire won’t find anything fresh here to hold onto. Pratt’s familiar dumb-guy schtick is as entertaining as it is in hits like Guardians of the Galaxy and Parks and Recreation, but his scenes with Howard are largely chemistry-free, and one romantic moment plays as shockingly unearned. Justice Smith and Daniella Pineda, as Claire’s eager young colleagues, disappear from the film for long stretches, and when they are on-screen, the script doesn’t give either of them any meaningful material. A subplot with Lockwood’s granddaughter is bafflingly pointless, until it becomes clear that the character exists only to manufacture some third-act jeopardy, and to make a ham-fisted point about genetically engineered dinosaurs that will likely leave audience members shaking their heads.

Perhaps the most frustrating aspect of all is the way the film ends, by clearly telegraphing the setup for the third Jurassic World, which already has a 2021 release date. But this movie crosses certain boundaries in a way that can’t be undone, and if audiences don’t like where things are headed at the end of this film, they aren’t likely to have those concerns addressed in the next installment.
If you squint, you can see brief glimpses of a thoughtful, interesting Jurassic World sequel somewhere in Fallen Kingdom’s scattered bones. A particularly generous reading might claim that Fallen Kingdom’s weaknesses are their own clever subversion of the franchise, that they strip away the distracting, pandering spectacle that made this series work in order to reveal how cruel and corrupt the entire conceit has always been. In a post-Last Jedi and Deadpool world, audiences seem particularly open to deconstructing the things they’ve loved in the past. But Jurassic Park: Fallen Kingdom doesn’t have the dedication to pull off that particular magic trick. It tries to echo what came before, while also undercutting it. It tries to ask intelligent questions, without making the characters smart enough to understand them. There is action, and there are explosions, and there are dinosaurs running around and fighting in sequences that will thrill some audiences, but there is no anima behind it. It turns a once indelible franchise into something generic, flat, and utterly forgettable.
