LFS works on both 32 and 64 bit Windows (XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10).
Minimum computer requirements
2 GHz CPU, 256 MB memory, DirectX 9 capable 3D graphics card.
Recommended computer requirements
3 GHz CPU, 1024 MB memory,
3D graphics card with at least 512MB memory.
LFS is mostly CPU dependent due to its physics calculations.
A full multiplayer grid requires a fast CPU more than a fast GPU.
The LFS download functions as a demo until unlocked with a licensed account.
To unlock LFS, you need an S1, S2 or S3 license (info / shop), and your computer must be connected to the internet!

Live for Speed, the Online Racing Simulator
The forces affecting the car’s motion are simulated individually at each wheel. We recommend the use of a steering wheel, because although you can use the keyboard and/or mouse, a wheel and pedals provide a lot more accuracy. The force feedback sent to the steering wheel is calculated directly from the forces, with no canned effects. This allows you to feel what is happening at the contact patch between your tyres and the road, helping you to get closer to the limit without exceeding it too much!
When you have a lot of speed and you approach a corner, you must brake well in advance or you will end up somewhere you don’t want to be! You need to find the best way through any sequence of bends by going through them many times. There’s always more to learn.
You can race alone, against the clock, or against the AI drivers. But for many people the real fun is to be found online, racing real people, in multiplayer mode. LFS makes it very easy for you to do so. Simply click «List of Hosts», select a server that looks interesting and join instantly. Many hosts run short races of a few laps, so there isn’t usually too long to wait for a restart. Most public hosts allow you to join mid-race. Just make sure you keep out of the way of the people who started the race before you joined! There are also several online racing leagues you can take part in if you are looking for something with a more competitive edge.
You can download Live for Speed from our download page. The software will initially act as a demo, allowing access to three cars and one track environment only. To access the other content, you will need to buy a license upgrade.

Live for Speed Game Hosting
CONFIGURATION
When you have created a host, it is not immediately started. This allows you to first configure it before you start it via the host management pages.
You can configure every option of the dedicated host software, either through the web interface, or in-game, so you are in full control over the host.
You can also ban IP addresses and ranges from your host, through the web interface.
Another often used option is the InSim interface. InSim is always enabled on your host, but by default nobody is allowed to connect to it. You must manually configure which IP addresses and ranges are allowed to connect.
REPLAYS AND LOGS
We keep track of all your host’s replays and logs and make them available for you to download and view respectively. They will be kept until you either delete your host from our system entirely, or until your host will be purged after 30 days of inactivity (while being switched off).
If you are in need of a host, but do not want to or cannot run it yourself, you can rent one here.
With just a few clicks, our fully automated system will have your host configured and up and running.
Subscription hosts
You can rent hosts on a subscription basis. That means you pay in advance for a certain period of time, like a month, or a whole year. You will receive a billing notification two weeks before a subscription period is about to end, allowing you to renew it by making a payment, if you wish.

Remember that any music you use in the videos must also come with permission from its author(s). You must obtain that permission separately.
Promotional Use
You have our permission to use LFS for this purpose, with one important condition. You MUST display the following text AND the Live for Speed logo on a banner or poster clearly and visibly mounted near your hardware, in plain view of anyone who is standing nearby, and in such a position that it will be visible in photographs taken of your setup at most angles.
The text may be translated into your own language. The Live for Speed LOGO must also be displayed. High resolution versions of our logo are available here :

Live For Speed – это хардкорный автосимулятор, посвященный в первую очередь кольцевым гонкам на стадионах. Тайтл пользуется популярностью в узких кругах, несмотря на устаревшую графику. Скромная визуальная часть компенсируется не только низкими системными требованиями, но и очень проработанной физической моделью, основанной на правилах ньютоновской механики. Инди-тайтл может похвастаться детальным моделированием поведения машин и их составляющих. Рычаги подвески реалистично гнутся и ломаются, температура шин динамически меняется и тщательно просчитывается, а тачки правдоподобно ведут себя на асфальте и бездорожью.
Проект ориентирован в первую очередь на мультиплеер, однако с ботами тоже можно гонять. Для этого есть одиночной игра. Также в Live For Speed присутствует сетевая гонка с возможностью ездить онлайн или по локальной сети. Помимо этого имеется режим быстрых кругов и тренировочные упражнения.
Автопарк насчитывает 20 машин. Они поделены на 5 классов: дорожные, спортивные, кит-кары, мощные кузовные и гоночные. Почти все автомобили не являются лицензированными. Характеристики тачек позволяют настраивать. Также им можно менять скины и перекрашивать. Всего в тайтле 8 автодромов и 50 трасс. Среди них встречаются площадки для тренировок, овальные и кольцевые треки, трассы для ралли-кросса и полосы, подходящие для драг-рейсинга.

История
Первая публичная тестовая версия ЛФС 0.04d появилась в интернете на сайте Скауэна Робертса в августе 2002 года.
После ряда тестовых версий в июле 2003 была опубликована первая платная версия S1 (Stage 1, «1 этап»). Всего таких этапов планируется 3.
Версию S2 планировалось опубликовать в 2004 году, но она была отложена, и появилась только весной 2005 названная S2 alpha. Несмотря на задержки выхода итоговой версии S2, игра выиграла приз «Лучший гоночный симулятор 2005 года» и ряд других номинаций от Blackhole Motorsports
В апреле 2006 в очередном патче ЛФС появилась машина команды Формулы-1 Заубер БМВ.
В декабре 2008 авторы написали: «Volkswagen Scirocco откладывается» — и «пропали» на восемь месяцев. Объявились они 21 августа 2009 с сообщением: на данный момент отрабатывается новая физическая модель шин. Очевидно, через несколько месяцев должно выйти серьёзное обновление. Новый автомобиль будет доступен в лицензии S1.
В версии S3 планируется первый реальный автодром — Рокингем (Великобритания). Автодром обмерен лазерным сканером с точностью в 2 см. [3]
Физическая модель
В построении любых симуляторов можно выделить две взаимодополняющие стратегии: моделирование и задание показателей работы.
Популярные симуляторы, например, rFactor, F1 2002, GTR, в основном сделаны по второй стратегии. В ЛФС, в отличие от них, моделируется механика подвески, деформация и температура покрышек, деформация рычагов подвески, распределение массы машины и инерция по всем осям. Регистрация на всех официальных сайтах проекта происходит в одном месте один раз в правом верхнем углу. Нажмите на ‘Create a new account’. Заполните анкету и будьте осторожны: имя учётной записи выбирается один раз. Изменить его потом будет нельзя! Имя пользователя и пароль действительны на официальном сайте, сайте статистики и официальном форуме. Больше нигде эти данные не используются. Данные своей учётной записи храните в секрете и не передавайте их никому! Появились люди, которые воруют лицензии, поэтому будьте осторожны и используйте сложные пароли.

Описание: Live for Speed по праву может считаться одним из первых независимых симуляторов (ранняя тестовая версия появилась еще в 2002 году). Вышедшая в 2005 году новая версия S2 (Stage 2 — вторая стадия), несмотря на регулярные обновления, выглядит, мягко говоря, аскетично. Аскетизм — это вообще фирменный стиль Live for Speed. Игра всем своим видом заявляет, что настоящий симулятор должен выглядеть строго и функционально, как интерьер гоночного автомобиля. Согласиться с этой точкой зрения можно, но, когда подконтрольный вам мощный спорткар звуком двигателя напоминает аккорды MIDI-синтезатора, ощущение достоверности происходящего (критически важное для симулятора) улетучивается моментально.
Среди поклонников бытует мнение, что главные козыри Live for Speed — уникальная физическая модель и мультиплеер. А все остальное — это так, бесплатное приложение. Физика тут и правда уникальна. В первую очередь тем, что, в отличие от конкурентов, не опирается на заранее заданные параметры — движок просчитывает поведение автомобиля в соответсвии с законами Ньютона. В реальном времени обрабатывается аэродинамика (влияние ветра на управляемость тоже берется в расчет), температура и коэффицент сцепления шин, работа подвески и многое другое. Благодаря такому детальному подходу авто в Live for Speed управляются довольно непривычно — кажется, что машина слишком «воздушная», что она вот-вот пойдет в занос. Это и делает Live For Speed самым любимым симулятором у поклонников дрифта (езды в управляемом заносе), презирающих «рельсовую» физику игр SimBin.

Live For Speed – это реалистичный симулятор гонок, где царит сила, что движет большой вес, распределяется, меняет свой вектор и пропорционально действует на все аспекты. В данной игре уделено максимальное внимание технической части автомобиля. Настроить позволено буквально все.
Выставить придаточное число в КПП, усилие тормозных суппортов, давление в шинах, при таких детальных настройках даже одна модель и марка будет по-разному вести себя на ходу. Угол поворота, развал схождение, протектор резины, привод покажут себя в крутых и резких участках. Фазы клапанов, форсунок, состав горючей смеси раскручивают коленвал с разной частотой, а подкрученная турбина раскроет свой потенциал на низких оборотах или в пределах отсечки. Жесткость подвески, клиренс переднего и заднего бампера, положение антикрыла, даже температура скатов и уровень топлива в баке откликаются на маневренность машины. С каждым намотанным кругом водитель все лучше чувствует свой аппарат, привыкает к нему, изменяет сток на тюнинг, глубже изучает действие всех узлов, подстраивает их под себя, выигрывает драгоценные секунды и позиции в гонках.
Максимальные ощущения и опыт в Live For Speed принесет использование специальных контроллеров в виде руля с обратной отдачей. С ними можно прочувствовать сопротивление рулевых балок, стягивание в сторону от поврежденной шаровой опоры. Но даже без них, эмоции не заставят себя ждать. Антирадар HUD Speed – это цифровой спидометр с встроенной функцией предупреждения водителя о превышении ограничения скорости, о камерах ГИБДД и других опасностях на дороге.
Наша база камер и опасностей, вероятно, самая точная. Самое главное – базой пользуется более 1.000.000 пользователей, что обеспечивает оперативное обновление данных по камерам ГИБДД и другим опасностям на дорогах. Мы работаем над ней вместе с пользователями уже больше 7ми лет!

2. В солнечную погоду яркости вашего устройства может не хватить для отображения HUD проекции на стекле. В этом случае используйте обычный режим отображения и поставьте устройство в держатель. Ночью, вечером и пасмурную погоду проекция будет всегда хорошо видна!
3. Во время движения ваш смартфон или планшет должен быть надежно зафиксирован с помощью специального держателя или специального коврика и не должен мешать обзору дороги. Окна в машине должны быть закрыты, во избежания вылета устройства при резких поворотах.

It is the 20th anniversary of Live for Speed becoming well known! According to various sources, it was on 18th August 2002 that Demo Test 0.04k first became known to more than a few people. It was very exciting to see the reaction to this new racing simulator that seemed to have appeared from nowhere and was quite different to what was available at the time.
We decided to show a few pictures of some track updates that Eric has been working on: South City, Bancroft Autodrome and Fairfield Test Centre, which can be found on our 20th Anniversary page.

It is the 20th anniversary of Live for Speed becoming well known! According to various sources, it was on 18th August 2002 that Demo Test 0.04k first became known to more than a few people. It was very exciting to see the reaction to this new racing simulator that seemed to have appeared from nowhere and was quite different to what was available at the time.
We decided to show a few pictures of some track updates that Eric has been working on: South City, Bancroft Autodrome and Fairfield Test Centre, which can be found on our 20th Anniversary page.

Сейчас виртуальный автоспорт находится на пике своей популярности (увы, пока в основном на Западе), и это не может не радовать.
LFS находится примерно на середине своего развития. Многое уже позади, многое еще, без сомнения, хочется реализовать. Но даже в таком, незавершенном виде, симулятор уже успел получить массу наград после выхода версии S2 в 2005-м году. Лучшая физическая модель, лучший мультиплеер, игра года — это вам не хухры-мухры, а Sim racing awards — мнение авторитетного ресурса www.bhmotorsports.com За эти качества и играют в Live for Speed. Игра не требует мощного компьютера, для онлайн-заездов с другими homo sapiens’ами достаточно скорости соединения в 28 кбит/с (главное — стабильность), а физическая модель и вовсе заткнет за пояс оную из любого другого симулятора. И это для настоящих ценителей много важнее, чем красота графики, которая, несмотря на всю свою простоту, никак не вызывает дискомфорта (все гораздо приятней, чем в последних NFS’ах).
В мире LFS в ваше распоряжение попадают 19 уникальных автомобилей. Да, почти все они представляют плод фантазии разработчиков (которые, впрочем, явно заглядывались на реальные модели), а из лицензионных имеются только малоизвестные RaceAbout, McGill MRT5 и, о счастье, болид F1 — BMW Sauber сезона 2006. Но здесь мы не рассматривать будем наши ласточки (хотя, и в этом есть немалая доля счастья автофаната), а ездить на них. Каждая моделька обладает уникальным характером, и требует особого подхода, каждую можно настроить по множеству параметров, подгоняя под конкретную трассу. Также машину можно покрасить в любой цвет и, для пущего шика, наложить только что нарисованный (или скачанный) скин.
Трассы в игре делятся на несколько видов (пять, если быть точным) и у каждого имеются несколько вариантов + обратное направление (трасса для драга и овал в комплекте). Общее количество конфигураций достигает внушительной отметки в несколько десятков. Так что, места для демонстрации своих талантов предостаточно.
Сейчас LFS, пожалуй, самый популярный проект среди себеподобных — каждый день в онлайне находятся сотни, а то и тысячи гонщиков. Поэтому, несмотря на существенный недостаток всех игр такого типа — высокую стоимость (интернет + лицензия + руль), игра явно стоит своих денег и станет лучшим подарком для любого фаната автоспорта.

Live for Speed — Это реалистичный онлайновый автосимулятор гоночных автомобилей на шоссейно-кольцевых и раллийных кольцевых трассах. Многие эксперты называют этот симулятор гонок самым реалистичным по физике. Не имеет издателя и поэтому разработчики имеют полную свободу выбора действий. Вобщем Live For Speed это cимулятор с отличной физикой, разными типами автомобилей, и хорошим сетевым кодом (что позволяет играть даже на модеме). Имеет множество поклонников по всему миру. Сложно сказать, почему разработчики назвали свою игру Live for Speed. То ли хотелось созвучности с бестселлером от EA, то ли ещё чего-то подобного. Как бы то ни было, Live for Speed предлагает нам смесь гонок по раллийным трассам и по привычным городским просторам.

Как играть в Live for Speed по сети
Последнее изменение:
Старенькая гоночка, со специфичным управлением, по-моему игра изначально была заточена под руль, но не суть. В данной статье мы опишем как же играть в неё по сети, разблокировать Live for Speed, и иметь доступ к лицензионным серверам бесплатно.
Для начала вам нужна последняя версия, скачать можно торрентом по ссылке ниже.
После установки вам необходимо разблокировать её.
Как разблокировать Live for Speed S2
1. Зарегистрируйте аккаунт на сайте разработчиков игры www.lfs.net
Для регистрации вам нужно будет заполнить несложную анкету
Затем зайти на указанный вами email, подтвердить аккаунт, перейдя по ссылке в письме и указать игровой пароль.
Файлы из архива перемещаем в папку с игрой. Если антивирус ругается, то отключите его, вирусов там нет.
3. Несмотря на то, что игра разблокирована, доступа к лицензионным серверам ещё нет.
Файлы из архива кидаем в папку с игрой и запускаем ip-patch.exe
Как играть в Live for Speed по сети через Tunngle.
После регистрации в Tunngle, вам нужно найти сеть, где играют в Live for Speed
Заходим в неё, народу там не густо, поэтому советую звать друзей.
После того как вы собрались в одной сети, запускаем игру.
В игре выбираем Сетевая игра
Чтобы создать сервер в Live for Speed жмём Начать новую игру, в настройках указываем видимость Локальная
Остальные игроки должны будут выбрать Войти в конкретную игру и указать ип создателя, который нужно смотреть в Tunngle. Легче всего нажать на ник игрока в Tunngle правой кнопкой мыши и выбрать скопировать IP.
Как играть в Live for Speed по сети через Hamachi.
Один из игроков создаёт сеть, остальные должны подключиться к ней, указав её название и пароль.
После того как все собрались в одной сети, запускаем игру.
Другие игроки выбирают Войти в конкретную игру и указывают IP создателя, который у него в Hamachi, он начинается на 25 и пишется рядом с ником в программе.

It is the 20th anniversary of Live for Speed becoming well known! According to various sources, it was on 18th August 2002 that Demo Test 0.04k first became known to more than a few people. It was very exciting to see the reaction to this new racing simulator that seemed to have appeared from nowhere and was quite different to what was available at the time.
We decided to show a few pictures of some track updates that Eric has been working on: South City, Bancroft Autodrome and Fairfield Test Centre, which can be found on our 20th Anniversary page.

When we first viewed the screenshots of Live for Speed we were impressed because they were really good and we immediately downloaded the game to test it.
The game offers us a lot of settings to configure our car, change the name of the pilot, the plate, colors. and it can be controlled with mouse, keyboard or gamepad. In Live for Speed you can race alone or against the AI, but the real fun is to be found online, in multiplayer mode.The community is big enough to play with people whenever you want, so that’s very funny.
When you start your engines and access the track, it’s very real, but we would like it to give more speed sensation, it seems to be slow when you are driving at 120 mph.
Collisions and the way you have to turn is impressively realistic, so you’ll have to do your best to end the race in first position.
If you want to try a new racing simulator, this can be a good choice.

Mildly fun
This is a relatively good driving game, a lot of different elements to it (time trials, races, qualifications etc). There are quite a few vehicles to unlock.
It is quite fun to play but there are a couple of annoying features.
The game is good for free and with these tweaks it will become more fun.

Live for Speed (LFS) (/lɪv fə spiːd/, буквально значит: «живи ради скорости») — компьютерный симулятор автомобильных гонок в разных классах машин.
Несмотря на сходство названия с Need for Speed, игра не имеет с последней ничего общего, как и с компанией Electronic Arts. ЛФС разрабатывается командой из трёх человек: Ско́ном Ро́бертсом (Scawen Roberts), Э́риком Бэ́йли (Eric Bailey, оба — Великобритания) и Виктором Ван Влаардингеном (Victor van Vlaardingen, Нидерланды). Новый автомобиль будет доступен в лицензии S1. В сентябре 2009 было объявлено, что разработчики уходят от именования версий ПО S1, S2, S3 и так далее (номер S означает тип лицензии и относится к контенту, который будет Вам доступен — автомобили, трассы, отдельные функции). По заявлению разработчиков, не имеет смысла именовать версии ПО LFS «S1» или «S2». Симулятор постоянно развивается. Это, тем самым, освобождает разработчиков от необходимости «завершить S2» (выпустить финальную версию), до выпуска S3 контента. Также обсуждалась возможность назвать следующую версию просто «Live for Speed 0.6A» — без приписок «альфа» и «бета» (игра уже достаточно стабильна). Номер версии ниже 1.0 в любом случае показывает, что ещё есть потенциал для улучшения.
Появившаяся в 2014 версия 0.6F поддерживает Oculus Rift, пустая трасса Westhill обросла декорациями, игра перешла на DirectX 9. Продолжается работа над новой физической моделью.
В декабре 2015 после ряда тестовых патчей, была опубликована версия игры 0.6K с лицензией S3, в которую уже входит обещанный ранее реальный автодром — Рокингем (Великобритания). Работа над наполнением контентом лицензии S3 будет продолжена после Рождественских каникул.
Так же были внесены ряд изменений в графику игры. Добавлен редактор тренировочных заездов. Добавлена поддержка HTC Vive VR. Улучшена логика ботов (ИИ).

It is the 20th anniversary of Live for Speed becoming well known! According to various sources, it was on 18th August 2002 that Demo Test 0.04k first became known to more than a few people. It was very exciting to see the reaction to this new racing simulator that seemed to have appeared from nowhere and was quite different to what was available at the time.
We decided to show a few pictures of some track updates that Eric has been working on: South City, Bancroft Autodrome and Fairfield Test Centre, which can be found on our 20th Anniversary page.

Live for Speed is a racing game for people who like things to be difficult. There are no driving aids and no arcade modes to satisfy the casual user!
The game is pretty slick. The tutorial will take some time, and is not easy, and that’s before you get to the racing. You steer with the mouse, and things like gears are on the keyboard. Mouse steering is never ideal, but the developers say if you’re serious enough about driving, you’ll own a steering wheel!
That is not ideal for most users, so you’ll have to make do with the mouse. The graphics are pretty good, with nice vehicle models, realistic sound and good handling. What’s annoying about racing is that the computer AI is too rigid. Other cars stick like glue to the racing line, and if you’re out of position they won’t avoid you, but push you, which often results in a spin.
This demo features 3 cars and one track, and the difficulty level means that’s plenty to start off with. There has certainly been a lot of care put into Live for Speed, but unless you’re a race perfectionist, you’ll struggle to get to grips with it.
Live for Speed is a good looking simulator that doesn’t pull its punches when it comes to being realistic.
