Совмещая в себе элементы стратегии, ролевой игры и симулятора, процесс геймплея передает волнительные ощущения, напрягая пользователя и заставляя правильно продумывать свои действия. От решений во время боя зависит исход сражений, подогревая интерес к игре. Мир и декорации, выполняющие роль препятствий или тактических защитных укреплений очень реалистичны. Интерактивность и разрушаемость объектов на карте позволяет находить разные подходы к выполнению миссий и задач по устранению соперника.
Игра представляет разные варианты и режимы для прохождения. Доступны как просто одиночные схватки с компьютером, так и миссии. Всего в игре представлены четыре несвязанных между собой историями, сюжетных кампаний. «Катюша» рассказывает о событиях под Харьковом в 1942 году, где приходиться встать на сторону СССР. «Америка» повествует про британский отряд, задачей которых станет уничтожение немецкой ракеты. Сценарии «Дорога на Берлин» даст возможность сыграть за американцев, а «Ярость Тигра» за Германию.

Не знаю кто разрабатывал. русские не русские разработчики, но игра получилась очень интересной! Это своего рода COMMANDOS, только в ней учтены все минусы игры коммандос и добавлены свои новые плюшки! Так что любителям тактических стратегий данная игра точно понравится. Тем более что их не одна часть!

Soldiers: Heroes of World War 2 – увлекательная стратегия созданная в режиме реального времени. Является продолжением первой части игры. В ней есть 4 фракции, за которые можно сразиться: британцы, немцы, американцы и русские.
В данной аркаде очень хорошо сочетаются многие игровые жанры, которые помогают углубиться больше в весь военный процесс тех времён. В ней предстоит постоянно действовать. Перед нами стоит много важны задач – разведка местности, обнаружения вражеских сооружений и ловушек, а главное подготовка к предстоящему сражению. В игре хорошо представлена физика боев и передвижения юнитов. Физический движок выполнен на высшем уровне. Окружение постоянно подвергаются разрушениям, создавая препятствия для дальнейшего пути. У каждого героя есть своя индивидуальная экипировка, она позволяет успешно обороняться от атак врагов.
Данная стратегия имеет одну интересную особенность. У противников и членов вашей команды есть определённое количество ресурсов и боевых единиц – они строго ограничены и бесконечно не регенерируются. Каждый юнит имеет свой инвентарь, который не могут полностью переносить во время боя, весь вес очень урезан. Солдаты имеют способность уставать, когда бегают, порой приходится двигаться медленнее чтобы сильно не уставать. Техника, часто горит и пламя перекидывается на деревья, которые могут подать и создавать препятствия на пути. Игра подарит огромное количество положительных эмоций.

The game’s dozens of soldier and vehicle meshes are all well modeled, textured and animated. The game’s locales are very well done too, taking you to war torn Europe.

«Тут случаем нет этого глюка с отсутствием (или утопанием в других) текстур грунтовых дорожек, рельс и всего такого? Мне очень подгадил он в кампании за Британию, где на поле отсутствуют кострища, куда надо класть дрова для сигнальных костров. Часть нашёл на ощупь, по скриншотам с похождений, но так играть это немножко перебор»

Soldiers: Heroes of World War II is the first in a series of real-time tactics video games set in World War II, developed by or under the supervision of Ukrainian company Best Way.
While the most widely distributed edition by Codemasters bears the name Soldiers: Heroes of World War II, its original English language title is Outfront.
The player can take control of American, British, Soviet, or German forces to play out battles that are set in World War II. The game is primarily a strategy game, but the player can take control of his or her forces and direct them with the keyboard and mouse for additional depth of control.
Game scenario writers include Alexander Zorich.

Gameplay [ ]
In the single player missions, players are generally allotted a very small amount of soldiers, and losing just one soldier can be a huge loss. Thus, the game is about conserving your soldiers and keeping them safe for most of the time. The game simulates close combat military tactics, allowing the player to place their soldiers behind cover and move them around all at once, yet also allowing the player to take control of their soldiers to make them do more advanced commands.
There are many types of vehicles, ranging from tanks to anti-aircraft vehicles to simple jeeps. Any soldier could drive or man any position in a gun, which, albeit unrealistic, allowed for many interesting gameplay implications.
Further, soldiers have inventories, which allow for the implementation of an ammunition system, as well as for soldiers to loot better or simply different weapons and grenades from dead enemies, as well as dead friendlies. Even vehicles have ammunition, which players can scavenge from disabled (though not destroyed) vehicles.
Another interesting side effect to using vehicles under direct control is that this allows the user to aim at specific points on enemy vehicles. A player can aim for an enemy tanks treads for example, which would prevent it from moving, but still allowed it to fire. Thus, by doing this, a player can stop a tank from harassing him, while creating a «dead zone» that he can’t move in without getting attacked.
Aside from realistic location damage on vehicles, the game offers a virtually completely destructible environment. This is especially taken advantage of when using a vehicle in direct control, in which a player can aim the turret and literally blow buildings apart.
Originally, the only way a player could play this game multiplayer was to play a cooperative game mode which took up to four players through any mission from the single player mode. The soldiers in each map were divided between the players, but otherwise this mode was exactly the same as single player. However, there was no server browser, and players were forced to directly connect by IP Address to play.
In a more recent patch, players are able to play different multiplayer modes, including escort missions and king of the hill type scenarios. No in-game server browser was created, but a player could use GameSpy Arcade as a server browser.
Spin-offs [ ]
Outfront: Saboteurs (В тылу врага: Диверсанты) was released by 1C in 2005. Development was outsourced to studio Dark Fox, using Best Way’s Heroes engine. Paradox Interactive acquired international rights from 1C in 2006 and renamed it Silent Heroes: Elite Troops of World War II, axing the original version’s multiplayer in the process.
Outfront: Saboteurs 2 (В тылу врага: Диверсанты 2), developed by Dark Fox, followed in 2006. This product is unreleased outside of Eastern Europe.

Sequels [ ]
The first fully fledged sequel, Faces of War, appeared in 2006. Its intended international title was Outfront II, but that moniker was scrapped after a distribution deal was struck with Ubisoft. Rechristened Faces of War, the game was released on September 12, 2006.
The next installment in the series was a joint development between Best Way and German partners Digitalmindsoft. Russian publisher 1C marketed it as a two-part standalone expansion for Faces of War.

The mod lean towards historical accuracy, but focuses more on game-play with missions both completely fictional & some loosely based on real events. If anyone think this is worthwhile & want to help out just PM me. Also feel free to give me feedback & your thoughts on the mod.
New Member & Progress
A new member have joined Tacos Mod: dgn! He have already contributed with a lot of knowledge of WW2, as well as added new content to the mod directly & helped with technical things. Many of the coming changes & additions in Alpha-8 will be from him.
Alpha-8 is well in progress, with a 2-part mini-campaign based on the Battle of Castle Itter already completed. A bonus mission has also been made, where you play as Norwegian commandos & another bonus mission where you play as Volkssturm is almost completed.
26 new weapons have been added, including missing icons such as the P08 pistol, M2 automatic carbine, suppressed Sten Mk IIS & RGD-33 grenade.
There are new rifle-grenade types: incendiary & armor-piercing. The rifle-grenade-launchers are now also able to fire regular rifle ammunition in addition to firing grenades. With other words, rifle-grenadiers are now able to shoot, blow up, burn & tank-hunt, given the ammunition & opportunity. This also means rifle-grenadiers don’t have to carry an additional rifle.
Portable bags are coming, such as haversacks. They act like regular boxes, except you can keep them in your inventory, giving you more effective space. They can also be used for reserve-ammunition, back-up weapons, as well as allow quick trading or dumping of items.
The Chasseurs Alpins in Green Blood now have their own uniforms. The Kriegsmarine uniform have also been significantly improved, in addition to new Volkssturm uniforms for the up-coming mission.
The inventory space of vehicles will be increased. The added space will allow you to more effectively stock up on anything you wish. dgn is also currently working on creating new vehicle schematics images for the inventory back-grounds, so that vehicles will have correct back-grounds.
You will be able to fire rocket-launchers & grenade-launchers whilst being prone in Alpha-8. The unit will no longer be forced into a crouch position. Units put on fire at will mode no longer go into standing position before firing as well. This will make units equipped with the aforementioned weapons less suicidal & more stealthy.
Fold-able weapons such as the MP-40 now take up 1 less horizontal inventory space.
Resuscitation Kits are now accessible via the «grenade slot», the slot next to the weapon slot. You no longer have to open up the inventory in order to revive allies, just select the Resuscitation Kit as easily as you would a grenade.
There are more minor & major things in the works, but that is all we feel like reporting for now.

Не знаю кто разрабатывал. русские не русские разработчики, но игра получилась очень интересной! Это своего рода COMMANDOS, только в ней учтены все минусы игры коммандос и добавлены свои новые плюшки! Так что любителям тактических стратегий данная игра точно понравится. Тем более что их не одна часть!
МИНУСЫ:
Я особых не нашел, т.к. игра реально стоит не очень дорого. Для своей цены — игрулька супер!

Soldiers: Heroes of World War II is a very good game that should appeal most to hardcore strategy fans, due to its intricate, challenging gameplay and great presentation.

The past few years have seen no shortage of games based on World War II. Sometimes it seems as if every other product by a European developer is a WWII-based strategy game. Despite adding to an already saturated genre, Soldiers: Heroes of World War II distinguishes itself with attractive graphics and challenging gameplay, which is an interesting hybrid of strategy and action. The game’s level of challenge often borders on being punishing, but fans of tactical strategy games will find that the effort is worth it.
The game offers extremely detailed environments and units.
Soldiers is in some ways reminiscent of the Commandos series, but the scale and nature of the battles you fight make it a little more comparable to a real-time version of this year’s Silent Storm. You can control your troops in standard real-time strategy fashion by selecting, pointing, and clicking. The context-sensitive controls do a good job of letting you position troops smartly behind cover and corners, jump fences, or take over vehicles and fixed-gun emplacements. Where Soldiers distinguishes itself is that it lets you take direct control of individual soldiers or vehicles, using the mouse to aim weapons and the arrow keys to move and steer. While this is presented as an option, it is, in fact, a necessity, because directly controlled troops are infinitely more efficient than the ones you order around more indirectly.
One of the more impressive aspects of Soldiers is its gameplay engine. The fully 3D engine makes few compromises in presentation, and it features detailed unit models for both infantry and vehicles. Soldiers can run and crawl or hide inside of buildings. You’ll see them unsling guns from their shoulders before firing and smoke cigarettes (with wispy puffs of smoke) when they are standing around. If they’re garrisoned in a structure, you’ll see them break the window before firing out from it. Tanks offer fully articulated turrets and cannons, and the game’s dozens of vehicles are accurately modeled in speed, loadout, and weapon power.
Soldiers’ artists and animators have done a great job of giving the game a varied look—especially with regard to death and destruction. Wheels pop off of armored cars, turrets snap off of tanks, and you’ll see vehicle crews bail out of their crippled vehicles that are on fire. Shoot a guard out of a tower and he’ll fall from it like a movie stuntman. Toss a grenade into a garrisoned house and you may even see a dead soldier fly out of the window from the blast. See enemy vehicles parked in a fuel depot? Fire a high-explosive round into the gas cans and you can set off a chain reaction of explosions that destroy all nearby vehicles and level neighboring structures.
The environments in the game’s large maps are also well detailed. Towns have dozens of buildings and houses, which can be explored and garrisoned by infantry. Foliage is plentiful and interactive. Troops can crawl in tall grasses or hide in bushes. Tanks and other vehicles can knock over trees and even plow through stone walls. In fact, you can level just about any building in the game if you have the right firepower, which adds to the strategy. About the only thing holding back the game in the graphics department is that the engine is fairly slow. Frame rates drop precipitously when there are too many troops and vehicles onscreen, and in-engine cutscenes look as awkward as a slide show. As for sound, the game’s sound effects and music are pretty good, but it’s not anything exceptional for a game of this type.
The detail put into the graphics extends to the gameplay. Each soldier and vehicle has an inventory, and every class of weapon has unique ammunition and accurate magazine capacities. In just about every mission, you’ll find yourself discarding empty weapons and scavenging dead bodies for new ones. You can even remove the machine gun from a tank or other armored vehicle and carry it around. The game includes more than 100 weapons from the US, German, British, and Russian arsenals, ranging from handguns and submachine guns to grenades and antitank rifles.
Vehicles play a huge role as well. In missions where you don’t start with one, it’s possible to disable an enemy vehicle, repair it, and then use it to protect yourself against the enemy. Is your armored car out of gas? You can pick up a barrel of fuel and refuel it, and you can even siphon gas out of other vehicles. Your tank is out of shells? Head over to that destroyed Sherman and scavenge the cannon rounds out of it. Vehicles are even modeled with the number of crew members in mind. Most tanks, for example, work most efficiently with a driver, a gunner, a loader, and a commander. It’s possible to crew it with just two (a driver and a gunner perhaps), but then you won’t be able to turn the turret while reloading, as the gunner has to reload the gun himself. Try to crew a tank with one and you won’t be able to even move the tank while reloading.
All of these details sound great on paper, but where Soldiers starts to fall apart a bit is in the mission design and control aspects. The game comes with 30 missions in total, spread out over four campaigns (Russian, British, US, and German) in a set of stand-alone missions. In just about every case, you’re presented with seemingly impossible odds to overcome. The very first mission of the Russian campaign asks you to assault a town fortified by about 100 German infantry, a half-dozen 88mm antitank guns, and about a half-dozen or more tanks. Your attack force: one light tank, one armored car, and two additional infantry beyond the six crewmen in the two vehicles. Thankfully, you don’t face that opposition all at once, and there’s no fog of war in the game, which theoretically allows you to see everyone and everything from any point on the map. But even with those advantages, just about every mission in the game will be a stiff challenge, with long odds to overcome. Expect to reload missions many times over as you explore different approaches. Once you’ve found a viable route, you’ll also find yourself quick-saving frequently. Players with little patience may find Soldiers to be frustratingly difficult at times (the presence of multiple difficulty settings does little to alleviate this), but those with more determination will find the game pretty rewarding once they’ve figured out a viable solution to a mission.
The control issues stem from the difficult odds you always face and the fact that the game basically forces you to directly control at least one vehicle or soldier at all times. That being the case, it’s tricky to try to be in several places at once, managing infantry on the left flank while checking on a machine gunner in the center and also keeping an eye on your tanks on the right flank, and things like that. In some missions, it’s actually easier to get by after a few of your soldiers are killed, so you can concentrate on controlling just one vehicle or a couple of troops. The game does include options to pause and issue orders as well as to trigger a slow-motion feature, which can help you deal with particularly overwhelming moments. But overall it’s still very difficult to keep tabs on having to control two or more different sets of troops.
100-to-1 odds? No problem!
As for multiplayer modes, the game was originally supposed to include a head-to-head deathmatch feature, but only a cooperative mode ships with the game. You can play any of the campaign missions and most of the stand-alone missions in co-op mode with up to four players. Each player is assigned his or her own troops and vehicles at the outset, and troops can be transferred to other players as well. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be a proper online matchmaking function—a rudimentary direct IP connect is all that’s included, but you should be able to browse LAN games easily at least. At any rate, playing through Soldiers’ missions cooperatively can theoretically help resolve some of the issues of trying to manage your forces all alone in the single-player mode.
Overall, Soldiers: Heroes of World War II is a very good game that should appeal most to hardcore strategy fans, due to its intricate gameplay and great presentation. However, others may be put off by the game’s difficulty, which can make missions seem like trial and error at times, or by the control scheme, which can make for some frantic scrambling with the mouse and keyboard. For those undaunted by these issues, there’s a lot of solid gameplay to be found in the game’s dozens of tough scenarios. So, if you’re a strategy fan who’s not tired of the WWII setting yet, and you’re looking for a challenging game, Soldiers: Heroes of World War II should fit the bill.

Обычно стратегии состоят из продуманной системы боя и экономических элементов. В данной же видеоигре геймеру необходимо действовать намного вдумчивей, уделяя много времени разведке местности и подготовке к предстоящим сражениям. Особого внимания достоин физический движок. Благодаря нему видеоигра вышла зрелищной. Окружение может разрушаться, а некоторые его элементы обеспечивают дополнительную защиту, так что всё на карте можно использовать для успешного противостояния врагу.

Сервера и сейчас полны игроков, какие тут могут быть обсуждения. Она не идеальна, но это, та игра, которая своим успехом положила начало целой серии.
P.S.: Пользуйтесь «Tunngle», «Hamachi» или другой программой для мультиплеера.
Рекомендую ценителям франшизы и любителям реалистичных боевых действий.
Не рекомендую, тем, кто изначально играл в современные, а только потом пришёл к истокам. На фоне своих последователей, старый дедушка уже не так веселит, но мудрость дарит исправно.
Вот она, игра моей юности!
Купил лицензию, как только она вышла, но, к сожалению, диски не столь долговечны. Но теперь она появилась в Стиме, чему я безумно рад.
Образцовая стратегия, с самым лушим, на мой взгляд, переключением на режим прямого управления юнитами.
Сюжет тут тоже на высоте. Для каждой из сторон конфликта тут своя история. Здесь есть и скрытная высадка на вражеский берег, и возвращение украденой установки залпового огня «Катюша», и неудачная воздушно-десантная операция.
По мне, у этой игры есть только 2 минуса:
1) Дополнительные карты для этой игры не многочисленны и найти их достаточно сложно.
2) Последующим играм из этой серии (да и многим другим стратегиям) так и не удалось не то что превзойти, даже приблизиться по духу и наполнению к своей родоначальнице.

While the community is waiting for their first official Faces Of War add-on, which will be one year old before the end of Q3 2007, we glad to surprise our hardcore fans and diehard community, which originated back in 2004 on release of Soldiers: Heroes of WWII, with great news. It’s not a secret for anyone of us that, when multiplayer of SHOWII mentioned, we mean BTRH mod from Comrades of Blitzkrieg Team Russian Hammers community. Released back in Q3 2005 mod gained fast popularity among the gamers who prefer lasting battles and rich tactical opportunities to transient and monotone battles. Today we will discuss the latest update for BTRH-mod 1.4 released today.
Shells in assortment…
New version of the mod, which has being developed for as long as 9 months, proposes many quantity modifications (units, maps, etc.) and also contains some quality changes in the gameplay. We would like to mention new shells types, added to the last mod version.
There are threew new shell types, such as:
1)HEAT
2)APHV, APDS
3)SM.
Lets review them more detailed.
HEAT shells constructed basing on the directed explosion energy, i.e. this is specific type of a high-explosive shells intended to pierce the armor. Ability to shoot the target with a HEAT shell doesn’t depend on a distance. The shell can either strike certain type of the armored unit or not strike.
Power of the HEAT shells depends on the caliber. Any HEAT shells strike light tanks and armored troops with 100% probability. Medium tanks can be defeated with 150, 122, 105, 95, 88 mm shells. At the same time they can be defeated with more efforts by 75-76 mm.
Heavy and super heavy tanks are less vulnerable to 76-75, 88mm but 95 and 105mm could do the trick. HEAT rounds with calibers 150mm and 122mm destroys them with 100% probability. Head of the HEAT shell has yellow color.
Historical authenticity is kept: in german tanks you will find four different types of ammo.
Smoke shells (SM) are intended for creation of a heavy smoke screens on the battlefield and providing relative safety to units on maneuvers or reinforcing orders. Only heavy stationary artillery might use this type of rounds. Smoke rounds are colored gray.
These new types of ammo have significantly changed balance and improved the tactical feel of the game. Wise usage of different shells types may gain you major advantage on the battlefield over your enemy in long MP battles. Really often you’ll find yourself saving not only your crew members from burning tank but also that extremely useful special type of ammo so you can later take that sweet revenge with it.
Entrenching and hedgehogs been ordered?
Next enhancement in our mod will be definitely the reason for a cheerful wave of excitement within our community. We are adding to ordinary AT(Anti-Tank) and AP(Anti-Personnel) mines extremely useful features such as : hedgehog, barbwire installation and personal entrenching for infantry. 6 Hedgehogs and barbwires you can find in an engineer truck – only one installation allowed at a time, so you can’t fill pockets with these goodies for the future – choose wisely because you will have to come back to truck for each installation. Also, hedgehogs can be only destroyed by dynamite, but barbwire won’t last next to small HE round explosion. We will see if these features would gain popularity and possible tune it up in the future, but as for now, the whole procedure of deploying them takes lots of valuable time, so we’ll see…
Personal entrenching can be deployed by special high explosion engineering shells – also we included them into engineering trucks and in engineer backpacks. Extremely useful for mortar and claymores regiments with mixed infantry.
Let’s shoot at something new?
Practically each one of the four sides of mod received some reinforcements. Changes in the unit list (regular list) and in the updated list (1942 list) definitely will add more variety and historical authenticity to the mod. For example, units from 1942 list and regular exist separately so the mod gains more variety.

Also changes were made to the previously added units – some got skin rework, some changed their appearance completely – for instance German tank PZ-IVH or Soviet T-34-85. On a top of that a lot of weapons models were reworked (for example Mosin and Mauser rifles) that used to be exact copies of each other, with just different characteristics, now look completely different and independently good everywhere.
. Soldiers: Heroes Of WWII is still alive mostly because of the enhancements. This update will only add more spirit, so it should last for a long time. Have a good game!

Причем любую из этих миссий (в том числе, и в кампаниях) можно проходить в кооперативном режиме. Кстати, а прошли ли вы миссию из демо-версии? Если да, то тут она сильно изменилась. Recently there’s been some silly drama on our site that was sparked by someone uploading a mod for Spider-Man Remastered. The mod replaced the very few Pride flags the game actually has with the already prevalent USA flag texture from the game. The mod was removed from Nexus Mods and the author was banned.
To address the banning, which is what a lot of people want to focus on, the mod was uploaded by a sock puppet account (i.e. a newly made account by someone who already has an accou.

Morrowind is turning 20 today! To celebrate this anniversary, our good friend darkelfguy is running a special edition of his yearly Morrowind May Modathon and we’re also giving away fabulous prizes in our Morrowind quiz!
Did you know that our site started out as a fansite for The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind? That’s right, and that was back in 2001 when the site launched under the name «Morrowind Chronicles» in anticipation of and leading up to the game’s release exactly 20 years ag.
As some of you may already be aware, the Bethesda.net launcher is being shut down next month and players are being offered the chance to migrate their games and other content to Steam.
Luckily, Bethesda has already made both the Fallout 4 and Skyrim Sp.
Starfield, the first game in a brand new series from Bethesda Game Studios, is coming to PC and Xbox in November and while that may seem to be a long way off yet, we’re already excitedly preparing for the release.
Update 12 May 2022: Bethesda has announced on Twitter that Starfield has been delayed until the first half of 2023.
If you haven’t heard about it yet, Starfield is going to be the debut entry in an entirely new franchise and marks the first single-player RPG.

In the feature, we are looking at a very special project for the game Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord. The mod in question is called «Life in Calradia» by the author OneDrop. If you haven’t played Bannerlord, it is a medieval-style action strategy game involving the huge world map of Calradia, several factions inspired by human history, hundreds of Nobles, and an assortment of beautifully created towns, castles, and villages.

Spinning a new take on World War 2, Soldiers: Heroes of World War II pulls you out of the field and into the commander’s head. Your group isn’t as large as an army in Age of Empires, but the inclusion of vehicles pushes it out of the realm of squad warfare.
Some squad based elements remain however, as you can take direct control of an individual soldier or vehicle and aim and move him directly with your keyboard and mouse. This can be used to great effect in raising the efficency on the front line.
The game’s dozens of soldier and vehicle meshes are all well modeled, textured and animated. The game’s locales are very well done too, taking you to war torn Europe.

Hard Landing is basically the Normandy of this mod. This is the alternative history part of the mod. A German force is assaulting the Crimea and the Soviet Russians are relentlessly defending it. A pocket of German forces are sent to ambush the lighthouse. Here’s a WIP screenshot of this mission.

Soldiers: Heroes of World War II is a strategy game, developed by the Ukrainian team of Best Way in which our task is to command a division of highly trained soldiers, engaged in various activities, mostly behind enemy lines during World War II. The action takes place within Europe, and for waiting more than 25 combat missions inspired by the heroic feats of soldiers in times of IIWŚ, in the forces of Britain, the United States, Russia and Germany. A big plus of the program is good, three-dimensional graphics with realistically implemented elements of the environment, which in the course of the mission, you can partially or completely destroyed.
Note: The Demo contains one mission, in which we must defend his wounded officer from the German forces. Our bastion of defence is simply rural household.

TOP SECRET COMRADE, «War is getting close to the end. The Fascist have fortified the right flank of the river. According to our intel, the enemy has delivered a prototype of a new tank, codename «Maus», for field testing. In this area, a Luftwaffe dispersion airfield is also located. According to the newest report, the tank had suffered a mechanical breakdown, and is currently being repaired, after which it is due to proceed to the airfield area. We must not allow that to happen.»
This mission takes place during late or mid 1944. The one completed Maus is being tested. The briefing recommends you to capture this Maus, but destroying it is optional. What’s interesting about this mission is that it actually happened in a way.
You start off with:
1 x KV-1 (Unoccupied, that’s what the tankmen are for)
1: Disable or capture the «Maus.»
2: Destroy the enemy presence at the airfield.
3: Destroy the fuel supply depot.
Historical Accuracy [ ]
After Maus V2 was tested in Böblingen, both V1 and V2 were at Kummersdorf for some time. After V2 was order to go to Wünsdorf to protect the OKH, which historians think that V1 also went there, V2 instead ended up at the Hindenburgplatz, in front of the bunker Maybach I, where it was destroyed by placing charges in the engine and fighting compartments. Because it had ammunition stowed under the turret, it was damaged more extensively than V1, with the turret being more or less intact. Maus V1 did not reach this area. After the war, the Soviet Commander of Armored and Mechanized troops order the hull of V1 to be mated with the turret of V2. The Soviets used six German FAMO-built 18t German half-tracks, the largest half-track vehicles that Germany built in the war years, to pull the 55-ton turret off the destroyed hull. The combined V1 hull/V2 turret vehicle was completed in Germany and sent back to the USSR for further testing. It arrived there on 4 May 1946. When further testing was completed, the vehicle was taken over by the Kubinka Tank Museum for storage, where it is now on public display.

Our routine database maintenance uncovered one quite amazing thing, a rarity of it.
We found a prototype of the game that became the starting point of the Best Way company. We are glad to reveal the first playable build of Soldiers!
One particular mission was sent to 1C Company for review. This single mission blew the ceiling, it attracted all the attention in the office of our future publisher and partner.
It was 2001. The computers were technically unable to display the visual quality similar to modern games, but for this time it was really breath-taking! Despite the fact that half of the objects was made out of sprites, even then all the buildings and units were made by full 3D models, there was the direct control, destructible game world and the player was able to repair their own and enemies equipment! And most important thing is that the game was made in accordance with the realities of war: infantry dies with one hit, machineguns and tanks can shoot across the whole map, it was almost impossible to survive in this hell of war.
