Introduction

This blog post will guide you to some of the best units for All Star Tower Defense in Story Mode. But first, what is All Star Tower Defense? All Star Tower Defense, or simply ASTD, is a Roblox game developed by Top Down Games. The game is focused on a Tower Defense game, but with anime settings.

Story Mode

Story Mode is a mode where the players have to play through different stages, each stage has 6 missions, which they have to pass to complete a stage. Completing a Stage will give the player a mount, which can speed up the player’s movements. Each Story has unique enemies and bosses, in the end, the missions will get harder and the bosses will get tougher, so you need the best units to take them out.

Categories

The units will be seperated into three different categories, which are:

Damage Dealers are units which focus on damage. These units are mainly used to take out the normal enemies. Boss Killers are units that focus on killing the boss. They have lots of damage and are used for late game. Support Units are units that either help the units or the players. They do not deal much damage, but they have good benefits.

The Units

Damage Dealers

The first unit is Genos (Overdrive). He is an early game unit with decent damage and very low SPA. He is mainly used to take out the enemies in the early stages of a game. It is recommended that you put the Fire Rage Orb (obtained from Challenge 1, level 75) on him, as it will help a lot when taking out the early enemies. If you do not have Genos (Overdrive), you can use Zenitsu with his Lightning Breath Orb, he has similar stats, but cannot hit air enemies.

The second unit is Todoroki (Enraged). He is used after a few waves and is used to help kill the enemies. His burn and freeze comes in handy, and he also deals good damage too. His SPA is also quite low for a unit like him. It is recommended that you use the Blue Eye Orb on him, which can be obtained from the orb shop. If you do not have Todoroki, you may use other units that have similar damage to him.

Boss Killers

There are 3 best boss killers in-game as of now. They are Giorno (GER) with orb, Luffy (4th Gear Snakeman) with orb, and Sukuna. These units both have their pros and cons. Giorno can deal many damage, has decent SPA, is fairly cheap, only costing 9k, and can rewind the enemies back just in case they get away. But, he cannot hit air enemies, has average range, and his attack is a small AoE Circle. Luffy, can deal many damage, like Giorno, but less damage. He has decent SPA like Giorno, he has big range, and his attack is an AoE Cone. But, he is expensive, costing 21k, and has narrow AoE Cone. Sukuna, has the lowest damage, but still many damage, has a fairly big AoE Circle, good range, but is expensive, costing 20k, and has high SPA.

Support Units

Currently, the best support units are Blackbeard, which allows him to slow down units on his 2nd Upgrade, costing a total of 4k, Erwin, who buffs damage, Bulma or Saber, which gives a ton of money, and Merlin, who buffs range. Blackbeard can be replaced by Ichigo with his orb, but he is expensive.

When Time Acceleration is activated, a cutscene will play. The All Star Tower Defense Meta, Is basically the best units to use for that mode or section of the game. There are many different Metas but the meta we will be covering today is for Infinite Mode. A Guide for Story/Trial Mode is still a WIP so please wait for it to release. The Meta currently will help you reach wave 75 if you do everything correctly.

All Star Tower Defense Meta Units:

Duo Meta Units:

The All Tower Defense Meta can be completed with a duo, or a trio. The Duo Meta has two methods.

Method One:

Method one consists of Player one having: Salesman (with cost orb), Mysterious X, Buddha Chairman (with Bomba orb), Flower Magus, Tyrant, and Meta-Knight (With Fire Ultra Orb). Player two must have: Salesman (with Cost Orb), Blackstache (Timeskip), Buddha Chairman (with Bomba orb), Onwin, Tyrant, and Meta-Knight (with Fire Ultra Orb).

Method Two:

The All Star Tower Defense Trio Meta makes it easier to get higher waves since not only 2 people are juggling everything. However, the enemy health is far more and there is a unit limit of only 4 units being placed per person. There is only one method for trio infinite.

World II

World II is a new world that is unlocked by reaching level 100. At the end of the Serpent’s Way there is a portal which will teleport you into World II. (If you are level 100, you will automatically be teleported to the end of the Serpent’s Way.) World II also features a lot of new stuff!

World II introduces a new type of currency, exclusive to it, the Emerald. Your gems can be exchanged with Emeralds at the shops. Use your emeralds to obtain new units!

Lobby

Upon entering World II, you will be spawned at the Lobby.

Free Gems and Gold

Like World I, you will get gems and gold by AFKing inside the Time Chamber.

Battle

Online PvP Matchmaking, fight other players in a 1v1 or 2v2

Shops

At the shop, you may find a lot of machines selling certain items.

Exchange

Exchange 50 gems for 25 emeralds.

Capsule Shop

A new capsule called the Emerald Capsule is exclusive to World II. 5 of them can be bought for 700 emeralds.

Boss Shop

A new boss, Broly, can be bought for 1.500 emeralds.

Orb Shop

Same orb shop from World I.

Summon

World II also features a new banner, the Z Banner. The Z Banner has exclusive 6 stars and uses the new currency, emeralds. The X, Y and Gold Banner is also there.

Story Mode

At World II, you will be greeted with new stories to be completed. You must, however, complete Stone Village in World I to be able to play World II’s stories.

This new story mode features a new type of enemy, the Rage enemy. The Rage enemy will run faster as their health decreases. There is also the new enchanted enemies. Use your new units with the correct enchant to deal more damage to them.

Infinite Mode

The Infinite Mode has a new mode, the training mode. The training mode allows you to test out new units. There is currently nothing new about Infinite Mode besides that.

Farming

Farming is the same mode as the one in World I. You get materials by playing from this mode.

Summerfest Event

The Summerfest Event ran from 25th July to 16th August 2021. The main event was to split the player group into three teams, Red, Green, and Blue. There was a ranking board showing the amount of points for each team, with a visual display of 0 to 100%. Each hour an area in the Story Missions would be chosen, and every time a player completed that mission points would be awarded to the player and the team. More difficult missions gave more points. There was also a reward promoted for the winning team. Initially players thought that it was a race to 100%, however, as the number reached 100%, the mini-game continued, with just the percentage increasing. This caused confusion and upset players as a result.

In it players could obtain three different types of boxes, Summer Box I, Summer Box II, and Summer Box III. Each box was obtainable after the player reached a certain amount of points.

Summer Box I was obtainable after reaching 2,500 points and having obtained at least 20% progression in the team ranking.
Summer Box II was obtainable after reaching 15,000 points.
Summer Box III was obtainable after reaching 50,000 points.

Players could only win a single copy of each Summer Box. These boxes could be opened by «evolving» them after the end of the event. Summer Boxes and their resultant evolution units are all retired and tradable units now.

Treasure Carts

Every few hours a Treasure Cart Contracts will appear in certain story mode missions, the locations and appearance time are different for each player. When joining the game you will get a notification signaling that a treasure cart mission is available. When scrolling through the story mission list you can find a distinct treasure cart symbol that lets you know which story level the cart has appeared in. Watch out though these carts are valuable and you may come across some new magic that will mix up your units. You’ll often find treasure carts re-appearing every few hours. Be aware that whenever you do a Treasure Cart Contract, that you’ll have one of your units replaced by another unit in your inventory, so it’s best to prepare on higher difficulty contracts and to have the right enemy counters.

Capsules are an extremely rare drop. Don’t expect to get one.

All Star Tower Defense Trade Update Patch Notes (ASTD)

Roblox All Star Tower Defense is receiving another big update, and this time it will bring a limited trading system into the game. While there are quite a few requirements for trade, this will be a nice feature that will give players a chance to get some of the towers they’ve always wanted. You will also now get a unit blessing, which will happen when you place certain units on your shoulder. Dungeons is another big addition to the game, and they will reward you with one of two available units if you can complete one. Limited Unit Trading System

How do I enable trading?

You can turn on Trading Mode in the settings menu.

What Units are tradeable?

Units that are tradeable are only those that are limited!

Infinite Mode Leaderboard Rewards, Event Prizes, Dungeon Units, Contents of Capsules as well as the Video of the Week and Developer Units!

Tradable Units have a ‘T’ Displayed in the corner of their slot in your inventory.

What are the requirements for trading?

Level 40 is the required level for trading!

Won’t trading make the game easier for new players?

Limited Units are considerably weaker then banner Units, these tradeable units are not to advance and aid in progression but rather to enhance your character, thus trading with newer players will not make the game easier for them. Due to the rarity and stock of Limited units ; trading will not cause them to be less rare then before as they will always exist a set amount of them.

Can’t I make a 2nd account and give myself stuff?

We’ve taken measures to ensure that making a second account will not give them faster access to obtaining tradeable units

We have added a new feature to limited units of certain rarity!

When Equipping Select units on your shoulder they will now grant your character something Unique!

Treasure Carts

You can purchase Capsules with Robux or get them from events such as Treasure Carts. Capsules contain only tradable units which are decent in battle but cool to use as a companion. Capsule units that are of Rarity epic and higher grant blessings.

Through accessing your inventory you may open capsules as well as exchange capsule rewards for a Capsule [+] a capsule that has a greater chance of giving a Rare Reward.

Every few months capsules gets replaced with a new type that contains new rewards, leaving the old capsules to never be obtainable again!

Banner Rework

Players who have not progressed past Chimera Ant Story Arc will have a different banner from those who have. The contents of that banner contains units that are balanced better for earlier progression [5 Star examples: Ace, Zenitsu, Tanjiro, Whitebeard]. Players who have unlocked the second banner can swap between the two. It’s important to note that the 5 star contents of Banner 1 will never be summonable on Banner 2, thus giving more variety.

There are 3 best boss killers in-game as of now. They are Giorno (GER) with orb, Luffy (4th Gear Snakeman) with orb, and Sukuna. These units both have their pros and cons. Giorno can deal many damage, has decent SPA, is fairly cheap, only costing 9k, and can rewind the enemies back just in case they get away. But, he cannot hit air enemies, has average range, and his attack is a small AoE Circle. Luffy, can deal many damage, like Giorno, but less damage. He has decent SPA like Giorno, he has.

Currently, the best support units are Blackbeard, which allows him to slow down units on his 2nd Upgrade, costing a total of 4k, Erwin, who buffs damage, Bulma or Saber, which gives a ton of money, and Merlin, who buffs range. Blackbeard can be replaced by Ichigo with his orb, but he is expensive.
