И к слову, происходить все будет в том самом многострадально городе, получившем название «Сити 17».
Игровой процесс изменился не слишком сильно, но все же, потерпел некоторые изменения за счет того, что появились новые механики, улучшился сам процесс, и виртуальной реальности. В целом же все будет сводиться в новой игре к классическим для жанра процессам: вы будете выполнять многочисленные задания, проходить миссии, сражаться с врагами, вести сопротивление по дороге противостояния, исследовать огромный город, собрать ключевые предметы, и делать многое другое.
Показано на данный момент не так уж и много, но факт остается фактом – вас снова ждет ураганный экшен, приключения, сражения с инопланетными захватчиками, и знакомые до боли герои, о которых упоминалось косвенно или на прямую в первых двух эпизодах серии. А еще теперь вы наконец-то можете узнать, что именно происходило между первым и вторым эпизодом, и о том, как именно зарождался план по истреблению захватчиков. A small hot-fix. I forgot to remove the config.cfg out of the mod folder which caused trouble for some players. So it’s gone now. In addition there was a faulty model in the model folder » lgibs.mdl.mdl» Preview

Mod_NumForName: models/LGIBS.mdl not found
It occurs when I fall off the little waterfall, and I can’t load the last save I made.
Hm one of these odd model glitches where the game asks for something that by default doesn’t even exist in Half-Life.
Just make a copy of any gibs model you can find in your mod models folder and rename it to Lgibs.mdl that will fix it.

@thiagothelonelywolf: «sigh» looks like I may have to release a hotfix after all. That model error you’ve got. I’ve seen it inside the models folder. For some reason it’s called lgibs.mdl.mdl so the game has trouble finding it. Make sure the file type is ok. So that it is called mad only once.
Also could you please post a screenshot of the precise error message it’s showing you?
Do you know how to fix it?
Problem with configs and the loading too.. Any idea how to fix everything? Impossible for me to launch the game..

For now what you can do is to go into your mod folder and delete following file:
That should hopefully solve your control issues. If it does not let me know but it might be very well out of my hands then and sounds more like you may have to reinstall Half-Life itself. Perhaps you folks did override some important files some while back. I can’t tell. In steam you could launch an integrity file check for Half-Life1. It will then check for missing or modified files and restores em to their latest original default version file.
Furthermore I suggest you try out both WON Half-Life & Steam Half-Life.
@Guest: @likesam16 where did you attempt playing on in the first place anyway? WON or Steam? It might help me to narrow it down.
Sorry for the inconvenience. Half-Life truly seems to run on every machine different. Neither my testers nor I had these issues during testing. Odd. 🙁
It’s a WON version but don’t worry I’ve found a solution. For the configs I took configs from my Valve file and for the game I have to launch the console and write «map mil_duty2». It skip the intro but I can play it 😉

Данный патч стал последним в линейке официальных патчей для WON-версии Half-Life. После его выхода VALVe полностью переключились на работу над Steam-версией. В патч вошла мультиплеерная модификация Ricochet и ряд существенных исправлений. Практически все моды, выходившие в 2003 году и позже, создавались авторами либо под этот патч, либо под Steam-версию Half-Life.

This is the patch for HL from 1.005 to 1.0.1.6 full version. Many ancient mods require this file (as they work with the CD version of Half-Life). So, here it is, fans that play so ancient mods

1) Go to your Half-Life folder (mine is usually C:\Sierra\Half-Life) and rename «hl.exe» to something like «hl.exe.disabled» 2) Create an empty text file and renamed it to «hl.exe» 3) Download this patch 4) Click on the patch to install into your Half-Life directory 5) Start Half-Life normally 6) If you’re on Vista or later, make sure the Data Execution Prevention thing allows the Half-Life launcher (aka hl.exe)

how do u even get to use this game? i downloaded the zip file and unzipped it but there are no exe file or anything inside the folder?
Browse to your Half-Life install folder ( usually c:\program files\Steam\steamapps\ \half-life ) and drop the wantedsp folder from the archive into it. ( So it’ll be c:\program files\Steam\steamapps\ \half-life\wantedsp ) Then restart Steam, it should appear in the games library.

Не могу запустить оригинальную WON версию игры на Win 7
В общем, нашёл и скачал оригинальную WON версию первой части Half-Life, ведь захотелось в старенького сыграть. Но проблема в том что, сама то игра запускается, но требует вставить оригинальный CD диск при попытке запустить одиночную игру. И поскольку его нигде не достать нынче, оригинальный диск, то я попробовал запустить данную игру со смонтированным образом диска в формате CUE но игра смонтированного образа в упор не видит. Пытался найти кряк, и вроде как нашёл, но при попытке его запустить чтобы установить в игру, винда выдаёт ошибку о том что этот файл несовместим с моей версией Windows, то есть с Windows 7 x64 Ultimate.
В итоге получается что ничего не получается. То есть, запустить игру могу только до главного меню. Дальше игра требует диск и не работает даже со смонтированным образом, а кряк не хочет запускаться чтобы пропатчить игру и заставить её работать без диска. В общем, нужна ваша помощь. Если кто знает как запустить именно эту версию Half-Life то отзовитесь и помогите. Очень хочу поиграть но никак не получается. Может у кого есть готовый кряк или готовая крякнутая WON версия игры.

If you use «impulse 101» you’ll find a Gravity Gun in your inventory, how the modder plans to make it work in the GoldSrc Engine is beyond me. So far it just crashes the game.

You know Xash3D? It’s got an android port. And that android port has got a gravity gun addon. I mean, yes; It’s an apk file, so it’s rather a modification of the engine, than the game, but, it works as intended.

I really like this mod so far, but there are some issues regarding the G-Man model (How the transparency makes the texture glitch for example) which is why I’d like to ask if you could just use the original or a HD retexture instead.

So far, I think this is a great mod. There are, obviously, a few things that need fixing. One, during the intro sequence with G-Man, his head likes to jerk left and right- much like moving the camera in third-person while in a seat in Gmod. Another thing I can find is that during the little meeting with Barney, if you accidentally hit E on him while going down the hallway, he’ll stop and follow you (if you back up) and you have to try and force yourself around him for him to do the NPC backing up thing to resume course. One thing I think you should also do is make a custom model for Combine Barney, as the current one (for me at least) is just a default Barney with a Combine head floating in front, not even touching him. Last thing I can think of that needs to be fixed (bug wise) is the audio with Breen. If you’re in the cafeteria area, you’ll hear him talk about the letter, as normal, but when you enter the plaza, Plaza Breen talks about the letter too, and both Breens overlap each other. Now onto improvement things I think should be added. I think the world should feel less.. Dead. I know this is only a demo, and there’s more to come and that it’s also GoldSource, but I’m sure you’ll find someway to do it. I think the world feels too barren without all the NPCs and the furniture in the apartment. I think the NPCs should be more interactive too, maybe they talk more. I missed the train guy’s «I didn’t see you get on.» dialogue. And now, the last thing of this little review. Now this is a very minor thing, but it may help. The thing I noticed was that in the apartment building, when I was going upstairs to the roof, I noticed one area that was pitch black. I found my way, but it would maybe help just a tad if it was brighter. That’s all I have to say, and I thank you for your time. I can’t wait to see what else you bring to the table with this mod, but I’m sure it will be great! Thank you! Have a great day/night/evening/afternoon, and I’ll see you all later.

I can’t do anything ingame, no input is working.
The mod doesn’t come with default bindings. That is for two reasons: 1. I don’t have access to all the controllers out there, so couldn’t create bindings for all controllers anyways, and 2. bindings can be shared and I think the community can come up with better bindings than I can anyways. The mod uses SteamVR Input, so you can map controller bindings in SteamVR the same way as for any other game that supports SteamVR Input. You can select public bindings for your controllers if others have published them. If none exist yet, you have to create bindings yourself, and ideally, once you’re happy with them you publish them for others to use. See Valve’s official post about SteamVR Input here.
Will there be touchpad locomotion?
Yes, through Steam Input you can configure all the controls however you want.
Will there be teleport locomotion?
What comfort options will there be available?
Teleport will be available as a mappable input. There is options for disabling slipping, sliding, being pushed, and acceleration/deceleration on movement. Snap rotate, and snap backwards are available, and an option for traversing Xen launch pads with a teleport arc instead of being violently thrown is also available. There is even an option for slowing down rotating platforms.
Will there be manual look rotation available?
Is HDM based rotation available?
Both controller based rotation and HDM based rotation is available.
Will the Valve Index be supported?
If it supports SteamVR, then it will work. This includes Windows Mixed Reality devices and the Oculus Rift.
Will the Index knuckles be supported?
Yes, including knuckles «finger tracking».
Will there be two handed weapons gripping?
Not at this time.
Is there gunstock configuration support?
Not at this time.
How is weapon melee handled?
Every weapon can be used to melee but the crowbar is the most effective. There is options for how hard you have to swing, as well as legacy button-press melee support.
How are ladders handled?
You can physically climb ladders or use the legacy option to slide up as in vanilla Half-Life.
How is swimming handled?
You can teleport a short distance in any direction via the teleport options or tilt your offhand up & down while moving. Swim up and swim down are also mappable inputs.
What can I can I interact with?
You can push buttons, turn valves, pull levers, push/pull boxes, pull yourself onto ledges, and climb ladders.
How are throwables such as grenades handled?
You can either physically throw and have the velocity of the controller be used to determine its distance or have it use the game’s default fixed speed for the grenade. There is also an option for button-press legacy throwing.
How is the HUD handled?
The HUD can be configured to be at either your controllers or attached to the HDM. Scale and position can be modified in the launcher.
Will there be real life crouching support?
Yes, as well as button press crouch and auto crouch support.
Can I use the default SD/HD weapons?
Yes, both the SD and HD weapons have been reworked for VR. There is also an option available for removing weapon recoil on these models.
Will there be scaling options?
There is a world scale option and additional options for NPCs and every weapon.
Will there be mod support?
Not out of the box. Mods with custom source code are not compatible at all. Mods with only custom maps and textures should be fine (just copy the mod files into the VR mod folder and load the maps). Mods that change models might be compatible, depending on the models. If a mod changes weapon models, you can probably play it, but the weapons won’t look nice in VR.
How do I know if a mod has custom source code?
Search for dll files in the mod folder. If it comes with dll files, it has custom source code and is not compatible.
Can I use Metahook to add surround sound and HRTF?
Yes, there is an option in the launcher for Metahook support.
How do I use Metahook with Half-Life: VR?
First install Half-Life: VR. Then follow the installation instructions from Metahook here. Half-Life: VR will detect and use it automatically once installed.
Can I use texture mods?
Yes. Out of the box, the standard textures will be available as well as AI enhanced super-sampled versions of the originals.
Can I play custom maps?
Yes, so long as they are vanilla made maps.
Will Blueshift or other expansions work?
No, and there are no plans in the foreseeable future to add support.
Do I have to own Half-Life to play this mod?
Yes, you must own Half-Life (the original from 1998) on Steam to play this mod.
Is Half-Life: Source or Half-Life 2 or any of those games compatible?
I’m stuck in an area and can’t jump/get to a certain place.
Unfortunately this still sometimes happens. Use the teleporter to free yourself.
How do I use voice commands?
Voice commands rely on Windows speech recognition. Make sure you have a Windows version with speech recognition installed and follow the instructions for your OS. Windows speech recognition needs to be enabled and running for the mod to listen to your voice.

Disabled the music track check in CD Authentication. One problem that some people faced was that they have CD-ROM drives that either can’t play the music tracks or they have disabled CD audio on that device. We’ve disabled the portion of the CD authentication that checked for the music tracks since it was tripping up legitimate customers. Of course they still won’t hear the music until they get their CD audio fixed, but they would have that with any game that uses CD music.
Adjusted the default configuration for multiplayer to be more appropriate for people with lower speed modems or with high ping/bad packet loss.
The default rate for LAN games is now set to 9999. Previously the LAN rate was being set to the be the same as the Internet rate.

Half-Life: Google Translate Edition, formerly known as GoldSrc: Google Translated, is a horribly mistranslated version of several different GoldSrc games (originally I was going to do all of them, but that likely won’t happen any time soon due to lack of interest) where every bit of text and dialogue has been translated to several different languages in Google Translate, then translated back to English. This includes spoken dialogue, most UI elements, in-game titles, model textures, and map textures. No audible dialogue or legible text is safe from my shenanigans.
If you need more mistranslated Valve games in your life, Portal: Google Translate Edition is out now! A sequel, Portal 2: Google Translate Edition, is under development. In addition, Half-Life 2: Google Translate Edition is currently under development by my friend Gyarik.

Hey all! As my life starts to get consumed by my college, work, and other adulting stuff, I decided to post one last major update.
I’ve gotten many questions about how to play Half-Life: Google Translate on Sven Co-op, despite the fact that I only ever designed this mod to run on single-player Half-Life. Well. I decided to change that.

Some time ago, I also decided to start a wiki for this series, which I have dubbed the «Mesa Black Universe.»
It’s very bare-bones right now, with only 4-5 incomplete articles, but I decided to leave a link to it here for people who would like to add to it. Could be an interesting way to keep track of all of the strange lore.
And now, a solemn farewell.
As mentioned above, my life has become pretty busy lately, and I will not have time to maintain support for GoldSrc: Google Translate anymore. I may release smaller updates here and there in the future, but since most people don’t seem to want anymore mistransated GoldSrc games (which is totally fine), I don’t really see the need to continue maintaining the project. Of course, I have enabled community-uploaded downloads, so if you would like to embark on Google-Translating a GoldSrc game or modification, please feel free! If you want even more Google-Translated Half-Life, my good friend Gyarik is currently heading the development of Half-Life 2: Google Translate edition, which you can find here: ( Moddb.com ) All three of the voice actors from this project will have roles in the sequel, so you should definitely stay tuned!
From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for the love and support that you’ve given this project. I’ll be checking this page daily to answer any questions you might have. This seems to actually work for Half Life Source. I have tried it even though it’s not made for it and it made the game very glitchy, so I verified the integrity of the game files to reset the game and it works! I’m very surprised and happy. 🙂
That is very interesting! Usually getting goldsrc stuff over to source is a bit dicey. Cool to hear, I suppose!

I have tried and It seems to be a 50 50. Some things didn’t go through it right and some did.
To make their mouths move when they talk, convert the audio into 8 bit audio
If I could do this to multiple sound files at once, I’d happily make an update to fix the issue. Doing this to one sound file at a time just doesn’t seem worth it.
How do I make the game no longer google translated?
Verifying game file integrity on Steam should do the trick.

Настоятельно рекомендую использовать полезный веб ресурс по моддингу moddb.com. Помимо самого большого архива с модами, аддонами, плагинами и другого рода контента к играм, на moddb постоянно добавляются самые свежие и последние обновления для любительских и не только проектов.
Достаточно ввести название в поиске сайта «Half-Life Alpha» или же просто перейти по этой ссылке http://www.moddb.com/mods/half-life-alpha/downloads/half-life-alpha1. На странице мода нажимайте кнопку Download Now, после чего начнется загрузка файла.
После скачивания, вам необходимо распаковать архив. Установка не потребуется.
Для того, чтобы зайти в игру, необходимо запустить файл под названием «Half-Life GL». Также можно регулировать все настройки путем запуска пакетного bat файла через блокнот (пкм, пункт изменить).
Открыв файл через блокнот, мы можем установить необходимые нам параметры запуска, путём изменения готовых команд или ввода новых.
рекомендуется удалить из строки параметр, поскольку он автоматически подгружает при каждом запуске игры, дополнительный кастомный файл настроек, который будет сбивать вам ваши настройки.
К сожалению, в игре по умолчанию клавиши управления назначены совершенно неудобно. В файле autoexec.rar, содержится подправленный autoexec.cfg из папки valve. Он включает все необходимые для комфортной игры настройки с пояснениями. Большинство клавиш управления назначены в соответствии с дефолтными параметрами Half-Life. При необходимости вы можете изменить эти настройки. Поместите autoexec.cfg (скачанный файл) в папку valve. Тогда при каждой загрузке игра будет автоматически загружать их поверх тех настроек, которые содержатся в файлах default.cfg и config.cfg.
Функции сохранения/загрузки игры работают некорректно, использовать их смысла нет.
Запускаем файл через блокнот. Параметр «+map название карты» отвечает за старт нужной карты при запуске. Всего в альфе 21 карта (20 одиночных, 1 мультиплеерная), но они не представляют из себя цельной игры, а состоят из частично связанных между собою фрагментов. Чтобы по очереди отыграть все одиночные карты, используйте следующие имена ключевых карт, в приведенном ниже порядке:
Мультиплеерную карту (warez_dm) можно запустить из игрового меню.

Патч обновляет клиент Half-Life версии 1.1.0.9 до версии 1.1.1.0. Патч предыдущей версии должен быть уже установлен у вас для корректной установки обновления. Данный патч стал последним в линейке официальных патчей для WON-версии Half-Life. После его выхода VALVe полностью переключились на работу над Steam-версией. В патч вошла мультиплеерная модификация Ricochet и ряд существенных исправлений. It’s been a little while since the last update, but something happened between the development and cost me some time to get working on this mod. But finally it’s all over and got to finish working on Chapter 4.

Wow this mod is really amazing! It feels definitely like something Valve or Gearbox could have made. Well done on the high quality!
I have two questions, will you have new voice lines recorded for the scientists and guards? I know of a few mods that have used voice actors that almost sound like the actual voice actors used by Valve.
Last question, will you consider adding more opposing force weapons such as the desert eagle and M249?

About the first question; Perhaps in the future if some good talented voice actor can contribute to the project, i’m totally fine with that!
The second question; Probably not, since i’m not conformed with the old blocky weapons from Opfor with the high-poly models from Blue Shift. But, it can change in the future too.
You could adapt models from Condition Zero, it has M249.
So I guess this one is not finished 100 percent yet. But by playing the demo the only thing that I can say is that it was a pretty amazing mod so far!
Combat was always intense and the mapping layout was carefully planned with many details that make a great gameplay experience.
Also, no matter if this is a mod the story feels quite coherent and decent indeed, makes total sense, and the fact to play as a Security Guard from BM ads a special touch into the HL story-arc.
So overall this is a Play it Now in the RTSL.com reviewing scale, and a 9 out of 10 in the MOD DB Scale.

Hello. The mod is great, but I didn’t manage to complete it, at the end of the insecure02c map when changing the map, the game crashes with an error, and as a result I can’t move on. Fix this error, or make a fix for nosteam, otherwise xash3d above version 0.19.2 or version downloaded from torrent, your mod does not want to work
More explaining of the error? I’ll get on fix that issue. In any case, play the mod on the Steam version of the game since it was developed for.
Will the mod be compatible with XASH 3D?
When it’s released some time in the future, for now it is not recommended to play any version than Steam’s one.

I legitimately have no idea what I just played. Terribly unfinished, zero player guidance and barely playable at all without using noclip due to trigger_changelevel errors.
and why the Hell does the download include ALL of Opposing Force’s models, sprites and sounds? Completely unnecessary.
Some original ideas that I liked like the breaking of the floor of the elevator. I did have some issues with map transitions at the end had to noclip my way once to the next map, maybe that can be fixed.
Feels directionless and unintuitive. The story makes no sense, the gameplay has infuriatingly annoying platforming and easy combat, and it took me 5 minutes to complete, not 1 hour. Also, the ending was so confusing that I literally had to check the map files to make sure that a map didn’t fail to load or something. The only good I can say is that the scripted sequences weren’t done too badly.
I agree with all of that. except the scripted sequence bit, since it’s super easy to break them just by moving too quickly. You can see it at the 4 minute mark in my video.
Well, at least you remembered to give the player an HECU Vest in the full release.
. the map changes are still broken though.
Going through everything that’s wrong with this would be a waste of my time and yours, but I’ll give you a few highlights:
— It initially took me a minute to figure out what to do in the elevator. Maybe make the breakable panel in the floor a different colour or something, so it’s easier to see? — Falling down from the elevator is going to take a LOT of health from the player. if they don’t just fall to their death. That’s not OK! At the very least make the ledge on the bottom a bit bigger so players can actually land on it, and maybe add a medpack right in sight so players know it’s OK to lose a little health. — Don’t have players walk into/towards a black wall to trigger a loading screen. It looks terrible and isn’t something people are drawn to, since we’ll just think it’s a dead end. — Also, make sure your spawn points and map change triggers are properly placed, or you’ll end up with players stuck in a wall during map changes. It may look like I’d showing this off in the video, but I’m actually trying really hard to actually avoid it happening! — The ending sequence with the grunt is SUPER easy to break. If you MUST stop the player, maybe consider having an invisible wall rather than holding players on the spot, since if they happen to be running, that bobbing animation will continue to play. — Also, if the player is running, there’s a chance the game will hold the player a couple of steps ahead of where they’re supposed to be. which is why the map transition didn’t work properly.
In short, this feels VERY unfinished. And is it supposed to be set before the demo? Because that would be VERY odd!

I’m not going to explain how to do it all here but you can get Half-Life Opposing Force, Half-Life Blue Shift, and Counter Strike 1.5 + WON2 master servers to work.
I enjoyed the game, it’s well done for 1998.
And for the guy who gave this a 1 star just because «UgLY HUd» or «CANt Go WIdeScrEEN» (wizardmagic): that’s because the game was made in 1998, you idiot!
Quite frankly, I am reluctant to call this a lazy archive move even though I know full well on how much effort it takes to do so when it comes to archive games in order to rescue them whatever bad happens to them. But long story short, I am a bit disappointed with this archive because, it doesn’t come with a crack to bypass the serial CD code and then play the game. Make your own crack, or just locate one of the cracks online for the game and then insert it into the archive.
Additionally, the game doesn’t have the music since the music file is missing for some reason after installing the game itself. When I was playing throughout the campaign, there was no music playing in the slightest, and its not located within the pak0.pak file either.
If those two aforementioned things are all fixed, I will reconsider downloading this again.
I wonder this will tested if a game thinks that video card «VMware SVGA II» could handle it or no.

This update contains three new TF maps: Avanti, Flagrun, and Casbah.
Pyro’s burn damage increased in Team Fortress.
Heavy Weapons Guy’s chaingun damage reduced.
All map resources can be downloaded from the game server now. Refer to readme.txt for details.
Anti-grenade triggers added to 2Fort spawn rooms.
Team selection also available from class selection screen in Team Fortress.
In-Game text upgraded.
Last weapon used key persists over a player death now.
=====Bug Fixes in this update:=====
Counter-Strike proxy cheat fixed.
High framerate connection problem fixed.
Cockroaches can now be killed in single player.
Tell command crash fixed in Team Fortress.
Restoring the WON version of Half-Life. One step at a time.
With the Steam re-release, the menu design was changed support Steamworks, along with the menu’s sounds. These sounds are gross, so I changed them back to the WON version’s.
NOTE : the only sounds used by the menu is the «release-click» button sound. This means you won’t hear that special «woop» effect when the text zoomed closer to the screen in the WON version. I cannot fix this, but the main button click sound along with the silent button rolling is there.
I didn’t see anyone else upload a mod like this, restoring the proper sound. I’ve aimed for as high definition as I could, taking the sound from the Steam Client’s sound files.
———— NOTES: ———— I wholeheartedly recommend using this mod with HowardHeyman’s «Half-Life WON Menu Re-Creation» mod! This mod compliments that one absolutely beautifully, and helps to fully re-create that CD version experience.
I also recommend using Ezequiel-TM’s «Fixed Original Images Previews,» to fix the multiplayer playermodel GUI color-izer not working on the Steam release!

It pains us to write this, but it’s come to the point where everyone involved with Overturn has agreed the project is cancelled. But before you read any further, there is a positive outcome from this decision:
Most if not all of the Overturn content will be released for our fans.

How did this all start?
In late 2009, Overturn started out as a simple map pack with simple reskins to spice it up a little bit to make it different. It was just Joebama (Joe) and IngSoc (Rafael) working on the project at this point until late 2010. After some thoughts, we both agreed that Overturn would be even better as a mod with some custom monsters and weapons. This is when Joe met Eukos (Marco) and then known as TheCoolGman, Xylemon (Gethyn). After a brief test, Joe brought Marco aboard to help out with the programming aspect and Gethyn to help out with the level design. For awhile, things seemed to be going forward for the whole year of 2011. Then, disaster hit. Rafael’s hard drive failed, and we lost many of Episode 1’s maps. However, we were still determined to get the first episode out. We even remade many of the maps that were lost! Marco left shortly after the new year of 2012 to get involved with another project and Joe was forced to either find another programmer or learn programming himself. Joe played around a little bit with the code but only managed to make the semi-auto shotgun work. Things were at a stand-still until late 2012 and early 2013 when we brought ash_link (Taylor) aboard. Things seemed to have been looking up at that point for awhile, but then Rafael was interrupted by personal issues and was unable to be around for most of the time. We shifted our interests towards a multiplayer demo rather than the first episode so we can at least get SOMETHING out for the fans. Because we felt that we could not finish the first episode without Rafael, but could at least finish the multiplayer. In late 2013, Taylor had to leave the team due to personal issues and we were back at square one again. Though, not long after Taylor left, cfMarc (Marc) filled the void of the programming section for awhile and did a lot of the weapons you’ll see in the build as well as part of the broken KoTH gamemode. Marc also left shortly after the new year of 2014 (See a pattern?). Surprisingly though, Marco came back to attempt to finish up the codebase and gave us an ultimatum: We needed to downsize the mod in order to be able to get anything done. At this point, we were starting to lose interest in the project. Unfortunately, this advice was mostly ignored and we actually thought about switching engines to revive interest in the project, but it didn’t work out in the end. Joe tried to keep the project updated by himself with some assets he posted to satiate the hunger for updates, but they were empty updates. Joe was just beating a dead horse at that point. Things were quiet during the rest of 2014 and 2015 due to lost interest and Rafael being gone. Now fast forward to 2016. Rafael is back, but he lost interest in working on the project. And who can blame him? Six years of work and nothing to show for it. That’s when we decided, as a team, to put the last nail in the coffin. We declared it dead amongst ourselves, but didn’t release this info to the public at the time. Now we are, and we’re releasing all of our work that we have to the public. We hope that some day, someone will come along and finish it up for us.
What happened?
Like most Half-Life modifications, Overturn lacked a dedicated coder and to do what we wanted to do with Overturn required code (new weapons, game modes, NPCs, etc). Overtime, the main developer behind Overturn started being unable to be as active online due to personal matters. Without him, the mod really can’t progress. We could have perhaps tried to finish the multiplayer demo, but everyone has moved on to other larger projects or is busy with life and so forth.
What happens now?
We feel at this point, it’s better to release the project rather than let it sit in «development hell». We are releasing as much of the source code and content as possible for you, our fans. We won’t spin it, for it does suck that Overturn will remained unfinished. However, we hope you’ll get some enjoyment out of the content that was created. If you’re ambitious, have the time and skills, perhaps you can finish what we failed to do.
Final thoughts. (or TLDR)
Again, it blows that Overturn isn’t being finished, but at the very least a lot of great memories, content, and lessons came out of it. And so, in light of all the issues that have prevented it from being finished, we pass the torch to you. It’s been a chaotic six years, but Overturn and the memories will never leave our minds and hearts.

I wish I liked this mod more than I do. I don’t think its aged to well. The wonky level design and the one shot natives really killed my enjoyment for me. I do love the idea of a HL western though, if anyone ever does a improved/remake of this mod or another western mod, I would totally try it!

It would be nice if someone made a proper high definition pack for Wanted, because honestly a lot of the original models have aged poorly, especially the weapons.
Same could be said for the mod in general. The map design is pretty damn terrible.

Its been a long time coming, and we should delay it a little longer, but we’ve decided to release it anyway. A big thanks goes to everyone who has made this project possible over the years by contributing to it or encouraging those who have! The reason we were going to dealy the release is that there is a small issue with the installer where you have to select the directory above your «Half-Life» directory, otherwise it will install to «X:/blah/half-life/half-life/movein», so please keep this in mind while installing. Also, there are a few graphical glitches when using ATI graphics cards, such as the overview map will not display properly. The MI team is still dedicated to the project, and we will be releasing Beta v1.1 ASAP to address these issues and to add new content. More download mirrors and game servers will appear in the coming days!

Firearms mod for Half-Life

Half-Life mod | Released 2003
Firearms is a modification of Valve Software’s computer game, Half-Life. It’s a realistic modification of the game, that focuses on teamplay with gameplay altered to the extreme. Oh and did I mention this mod is loaded to the hilt with beautifully detailed firearms.
I saw this at the Firearms site and knowing that not everyone will visit their site I thought I should post it here. Firearms was a great mod, wasn’t it? Here was the final news post and all the content of what remains of the site:
This is an official public service announcement.
If someone wants to steal or take over your mod and use its name, there is nothing you can do.
When Source was out and FA was still in production, a Source mod started up under the name “Firearms: Revival.” We, the FA Team, spoke with them and came to an agreement. They could recreate FA from scratch, but they agreed to not use our name.
The FA Team argued with the FA2 Team for quite awhile, to no avail. Valve also refused to get involved. Eventually, the FA Team prevailed upon former FA Team Leader Eric “Zerk” Smith to intervene. When he found there was no legal ground to stop the FA2 Team, he lent them his conditional support. Thus ended the FA Team’s quest to stop the FA2 Team from making Firearms 2.
However, a year later, the FA Team (now the World at War Team) is still angry. Firearms 2 continues to capitalize on the good name of a mod that they neither created nor stewarded. They wish to sweep the hijacking incident under the rug, as if it weren’t relevant to who they are and what they’ve done. For us, the aftermath of this was like being kicked in the groin and others telling us to just forget about it, that the crushing pain was in the past.
At this point, we accept that these people will continue trying to make FA 2. We can’t stop them. But for the players out there, remember that this is a mod started by fellow players who perpetrated this against us. For fellow modders out there, remember: this could happen to you. And if it does… may God have mercy on you, because you can’t do anything about it.
In the summer of 2005, I gained leadership of Firearms for HL1 from then-leader Ben Irwin, who had already disappeared from public internet life and needed a sabbatical from the pressures of leading a mod. I also became team leader of World at War, the FA Team’s follow-up mod to FA. I worked on and off with several others to shepherd the release of FA 3.0. As most of the FA Team was already working on WaW, the general consensus had been to stop development on FA after 3.0 was released. Agree or disagree, that right was the Team’s prerogative. However, we kept the webpage up and the forums running after 3.0 was released, allowing for feedback and the possibility of a few minor updates.
We did not set a date for Firearms to “die.” We did not wish to stifle any and all access to FA. When the time was to come, we were going to write a final news post on the FA site and give links to the WaW site, where FA discussion would continue in our subforum and would include download links.
Before any of this could happen, I came home from a party in early August of 2005 to see PMs splashed all across my IRC screen and my inbox flooded. All of my fellow FA Team members and all of my forum admin staff had been banned from our own forums during a hostile takeover. Furthermore, my Team members and I did not have FTP access anymore. (My own FTP access had died a week or two earlier, and I’d pestered ReconGamer, our host, to fix it by email. They didn’t.)
So, we were locked out of our own system, with a resultant loss of control over our forums (and Ben Irwin’s VBB license) and the use of our domain name. After some deft maneuvering by my friends on the FA/WaW staff, the VBB license was yanked and the domain name was redirected (as it continued to be until today). At this point, the hijackers had nothing under their control except for the FTP..
Investigation and confrontation revealed the hijackers to be, at least: “Jonjon”, Dean “Sgossard34” Gagnon (who was eventually removed from the Firearms 2 Team by Jonjon), and “Snap.” Although the rationale is murky and inconclusive, it seemed that they’d hijacked the server and forums to prevent the FA Team from killing off FA and/or to use the hijacking as leverage to convince Ben Irwin to grant them permission to create (drumroll…) Firearms 2 for Source. The FA Team had already declined to make FA2 (again, our prerogative) and had even confronted another mod called “Firearms: Revival” that sought to use the name. After some negotiation with those mod leaders, we reached a consensus: an FA remake was okay, so long as it didn’t use the name “Firearms.” The FA:R Team agreed and was reborn as Fireteam: Incursion, now the Incursion mod.
But I digress. Whatever the case, the FA website was now down, pretty much for good. The redirect sent visitors to World at War. The VBB license was back in our hands too, used by Ben and our administrator, Lucky, to host the WaW forums. The WaW forums became a pseudo-lifeboat for the remnants of the FA community. We gave them a home there and opened up our forums and, shortly, our website to the public, months ahead of schedule.
Here’s where things continue to go downhill. Despite the hijack attempt being thwarted, Jonjon, Sgoss, and their ilk had renamed themselves “the FA2 Team” and were pressing ahead with the mod, our objections be damned. It turned out that by talking with ReconGamer (who, as I noted, were less-than-cooperative with me) Jonjon had gotten control of our server and FTP.. This was to be the basis for the FA2 website and mod effort. I feel the need to point out that when the FA Team lost control of the FTP and server, we also lost everything we’d ever stored on the server. Art source for FA, personal photos and writings, the website, all gone. We haven’t had these returned to us, and really don’t expect to see them again.
I didn’t approach Zerk because of some weighty position he still held with the Firearms Team. Zerk had relinquished leadership to Ben five years ago during the development of 2.5. He left the team shortly thereafter. I approached him because I thought his contract would be important to our case were he to side with us.
He agreed that the FA2 Team’s actions were egregious and warranted a reaction. Despite my hesitance on stepping into legal matters, Zerk shot them a cease-and-desist letter. The FA2 Team quickly got in contact with Zerk to try and reach an accommodation. During this period, Zerk consulted with the DICE legal team and learned that, despite having signed a contract, no legal action could be taken against the theft of intellectual property online. So, Zerk cut his losses and sided with the FA2 Team. The deal: Zerk would give them his approval, provided that they treated the intellectual property properly and behaved themselves.
That was pretty much the end of our last option against the FA2 Team, and the end of our efforts to have FA2 stopped. It wasn’t because of Zerk’s approval, which certainly stung… it was because he proved that there was no legal course to take.
If there’s nothing more that we can do, why am I writing this? Isn’t this all in the past?
• The FA2 Team continues to capitalize on the “Firearms” name. Supporters and developers continue to flock to them on the merit of something they did not create.
• In carving out their own personal niche on their webspace and through their PR releases, the FA2 Team has been able to control the discourse on FA2. No mention is made of the website hijacking. And for good reason! It doesn’t look good.
• FA2 revolves around our intellectual property. Some will try to pick apart the factualness of that statement, so let me do it for them: the FA Team at the time of the hijacking hadn’t created FA; the closest thing resembling legal rights over the intellectual property lies with the contract that Zerk signed; the WaW Team isn’t the real FA Team, after all. To which I would respond:
• No, we didn’t, but we ran and led FA for five long, bittersweet years. The former leaders ended their leadership and entrusted us with FA. It was ours to mod as we pleased.
• Zerk does have the closest thing to legal rights, which, as noted above, have nothing to do with the fact that he left the FA Team half a decade earlier.
• We are the real FA Team. Just because Ben left the public’s view doesn’t mean that he surrendered the IP. Just because there wasn’t a grand changing-of-the-guard ceremony doesn’t mean that I didn’t become team leader. Just because certain team members (such as Tim Rice and Chaz) left both FA and WaW after this incident doesn’t mean that the Team itself was compromised. Just because Sgossard was a guest-coder (actual team member, he argues) of FA doesn’t mean that he had any power over what should be done with it. Just because Zerk approves doesn’t mean that the FA Team does.
As stated, we have no action to take against the FA2 Team. If you want to point fingers at us and say, “You lost, they won, get over it,” you can. But we will not get over it. These are not the right people to continue the Firearms legacy. Some of us spent over six years building the mod up from nothing, only to have it torn away by people who had no right to do so.
This post is a moral protest. Up until this point, they’ve been able to sweep the hijacking incident under the rug and get away with walking over the FA Team’s wishes for the Firearms legacy. And they may continue to do so. But the world should know how the Firearms Team lost control of the “Firearms” name and the ability to rest on our laurels. We can still tout WaW as the follow-up mod to FA, and we still do… when people listen. Modding the “successor” to FA isn’t very glamorous when there’s a bright-and-shiny “Firearms 2” out there to capitalize on our good name, with no hint of the scandal that went on in the background.
This boils down to the treatment of the FA Team and Firearms as a game. Sure, I know that working on FA after version 2.6 has made us downright reviled in some circles. We’re no strangers to having some of our fans pissed at us. But let everyone take note of the time in modding history when these “fans” hijacked a mod team’s intellectual property and trod all over them in the process.
They did this because, to them, they had more rights as players than we had as developers. And now that they have forcibly taken the “Firearms” name, they try to justify their behavior by saying that they are developers… after the fact, mind you.
For the players out there who are still reading, do yourself a favor. Think long and hard about what modding is about, and ask yourself two questions: why should modders continue to create free games if they cannot control what they create? And, how do you treat modders?
If your answer to the last two questions is apathetic or nonchalant, be sure to let the modders know your opinion (or lack thereof). And I guess if those modders do something you don’t like, you could always take over their website and hijack their intellectual property so you can have your own way at their expense.
The above named people were either FA team members or FA forum administration team members at the time of these events and agree that this is what happened.

Решение проблем в Half-Life — не устанавливается? Не запускается? Тормозит? Вылетает? Лагает? Ошибка? Не загружается?
К сожалению, в играх бывают изъяны: тормоза, низкий FPS, вылеты, зависания, баги и другие мелкие и не очень ошибки. Нередко проблемы начинаются еще до начала игры, когда она не устанавливается, не загружается или даже не скачивается. Да и сам компьютер иногда чудит, и тогда в 半条命 вместо картинки черный экран, не работает управление, не слышно звук или что-нибудь еще.
Что сделать в первую очередь
Системные требования Half-Life
Второе, что стоит сделать при возникновении каких-либо проблем с 半条命, это свериться с системными требованиями. По-хорошему делать это нужно еще до покупки, чтобы не пожалеть о потраченных деньгах.
Минимальные системные требования Half-Life:
Windows XP, Процессор: 500 МГц, 96 МБ ОЗУ, Доступ в Интернет, Клавиатура, мышь, Видеопамять: 16 МБ
Каждому геймеру следует хотя бы немного разбираться в комплектующих, знать, зачем нужна видеокарта, процессор и другие штуки в системном блоке.
Файлы, драйверы и библиотеки
Практически каждое устройство в компьютере требует набор специального программного обеспечения. Это драйверы, библиотеки и прочие файлы, которые обеспечивают правильную работу компьютера.
Начать стоит с драйверов для видеокарты. Современные графические карты производятся только двумя крупными компаниями — Nvidia и AMD. Выяснив, продукт какой из них крутит кулерами в системном блоке, отправляемся на официальный сайт и загружаем пакет свежих драйверов:
Обязательным условием для успешного функционирования Half-Life является наличие самых свежих драйверов для всех устройств в системе. Скачайте утилиту Driver Updater, чтобы легко и быстро загрузить последние версии драйверов и установить их одним щелчком мыши:
Фоновые процессы всегда влияют на производительность. Вы можете существенно увеличить FPS, очистив ваш ПК от мусорных файлов и включив специальный игровой режим с помощью программы Advanced System Optimizer
Half-Life не скачивается. Долгое скачивание. Решение
Скорость лично вашего интернет-канала не является единственно определяющей скорость загрузки. Если раздающий сервер работает на скорости, скажем, 5 Мб в секунду, то ваши 100 Мб делу не помогут.
Если Half-Life совсем не скачивается, то это может происходить сразу по куче причин: неправильно настроен роутер, проблемы на стороне провайдера, кот погрыз кабель или, в конце-концов, упавший сервер на стороне сервиса, откуда скачивается игра.
半条命 не устанавливается. Прекращена установка. Решение
Перед тем, как начать установку Half-Life, нужно еще раз обязательно проверить, какой объем она занимает на диске. Если же проблема с наличием свободного места на диске исключена, то следует провести диагностику диска. Возможно, в нем уже накопилось много «битых» секторов, и он банально неисправен?
В Windows есть стандартные средства проверки состояния HDD- и SSD-накопителей, но лучше всего воспользоваться специализированными программами.
Но нельзя также исключать и вероятность того, что из-за обрыва соединения загрузка прошла неудачно, такое тоже бывает. А если устанавливаете 半条命 с диска, то стоит поглядеть, нет ли на носителе царапин и чужеродных веществ!
Half-Life не запускается. Ошибка при запуске. Решение
Half-Life установилась, но попросту отказывается работать. Как быть?
Выдает ли Half-Life какую-нибудь ошибку после вылета? Если да, то какой у нее текст? Возможно, она не поддерживает вашу видеокарту или какое-то другое оборудование? Или ей не хватает оперативной памяти?
Помните, что разработчики сами заинтересованы в том, чтобы встроить в игры систему описания ошибки при сбое. Им это нужно, чтобы понять, почему их проект не запускается при тестировании.
Обязательно запишите текст ошибки. Если вы не владеете иностранным языком, то обратитесь на официальный форум разработчиков Half-Life. Также будет полезно заглянуть в крупные игровые сообщества и, конечно, в наш FAQ.
Если Half-Life не запускается, мы рекомендуем вам попробовать отключить ваш антивирус или поставить игру в исключения антивируса, а также еще раз проверить соответствие системным требованиям и если что-то из вашей сборки не соответствует, то по возможности улучшить свой ПК, докупив более мощные комплектующие.
В Half-Life черный экран, белый экран, цветной экран. Решение
Проблемы с экранами разных цветов можно условно разделить на 2 категории.
Во-первых, они часто связаны с использованием сразу двух видеокарт. Например, если ваша материнская плата имеет встроенную видеокарту, но играете вы на дискретной, то Half-Life может в первый раз запускаться на встроенной, при этом самой игры вы не увидите, ведь монитор подключен к дискретной видеокарте.
Во-вторых, цветные экраны бывают при проблемах с выводом изображения на экран. Это может происходить по разным причинам. Например, Half-Life не может наладить работу через устаревший драйвер или не поддерживает видеокарту. Также черный/белый экран может выводиться при работе на разрешениях, которые не поддерживаются игрой.
Half-Life вылетает. В определенный или случайный момент. Решение
Играете вы себе, играете и тут — бац! — все гаснет, и вот уже перед вами рабочий стол без какого-либо намека на игру. Почему так происходит? Для решения проблемы стоит попробовать разобраться, какой характер имеет проблема.
Если вылет происходит в случайный момент времени без какой-то закономерности, то с вероятностью в 99% можно сказать, что это ошибка самой игры. В таком случае исправить что-то очень трудно, и лучше всего просто отложить 半条命 в сторону и дождаться патча.

H owdy folks. Today I’m proud to announce you the release of a new Half-Life: Opposing Force mod (Op4 not required) It is a map pack that consists of 15 maps in decent quality. The mod features custom skins, few new voice lines as well as rather balanced game play. There’re still few minor glitches in it which eventually may get addressed in a future patch but nothing serious. The mod is completely playable.
Anyway for those unfamiliar with this project so far. Let me introduce it a little bit for you. This mod has been a little side project of mine that I started several years ago but just recently I finally managed to return for it and to finish it. Keep in mind though that this is my first mod release ever for Half-Life. So I’m hoping for many comments from you people either here or on the site that hosts my mod. Positive feedback as well as constructive criticism would be most appreciated.
Special thanks go to all of you my followers and my team mates which helped me on this package as well as my beta testers and everyone else who was somehow involved on this project. But enough talking. I’m sure each one of you would like to play it now.

В этом посте я рассказываю вам, как сделать, чтобы в игре были фон и шрифт консоли из беты.
Перед тем, как начать
Перед тем, как начать процесс, нужно удостовериться в наличии необходимых данных.
Затем, когда вы скачали и установили Half-Life SDK, откройте в нем папку Texture Wad Tools и для удобства создайте в нем папку. Назовите ее Beta.
1) В папке Beta создайте папку cached.
2) Откройте файл valve\gfx\conback.lmp из WON-версии Half-Life в HEX-редакторе.
3) Скопируйте последние 768 байт в новый файл и сохраните его в папке Fimg под названием palette.pal.
4) Откройте файл valve\gfx\conback.lmp из WON-версии Half-Life в Fimg.
5) Сохраните этот файл в папке Texture Wad Tools\Beta\cached в формате BMP.
6) Откройте valve\cached.wad из Half-Life, а лучше из Day One, в GCFScape.
7) Извлеките cached.bmp в папку cached.
8) Создайте текстовый документ следующего содержания:

в котором замените %s на путь к папке Texture Wad Tools в Half-Life SDK.

4) Выделите участок (0;94)-(144;148). Сдвиньте его на 4 пиксела вниз, как показано на рисунке:
Закрасьте пустое пространство, которое осталось после сдвига, цветом 254, 2, 254.
5) Сохраните отредактированное изображение.
6) Скопируйте в папку gfx файл hl2\gfx\status\credits_font.bmp из беты Half-Life 2.
7) Откройте valve\gfx.wad из Half-Life используя GCFScape. В папку gfx в папке Texture Wad Tools извлеките изображения backtile, lambda, lambda32, lambda64 и paused.
8) (Необязательно) Откройте valve\gfx.wad из Day One используя GCFScape. В папку gfx в папке Texture Wad Tools извлеките изображения backtile, lambda, lambda32 и lambda64 с перезаписью.
9) Создайте текстовый документ следующего содержания:

Шутер задумывался в качестве продолжения Half-Life 2 от Valve, а за его разработку отвечала команда Arkane Studios, позже создавшая Dishonored, Prey и Deathloop (наш обзор).
Известно, что разработка игры проходила в 2006-2007 годах. В середине июня состоялся релиз DOSBox Pure версии 0.9.5, в которой разработчики эмулятора добавили поддержку Windows 95 / 98 и графики 3dfx Voodoo. Сотрудники технического подразделения Eurogamer решили испытать работу утилиты — но не на ПК, а на Xbox Series X, через оболочку RetroArch, которую можно установить на многие консоли.
Журналист Алекс Батталия не только проверил, насколько стабильно работает на консоли Microsoft «классическая» ОС, но и сравнил производительность в играх с настоящим ПК-«железом» конца девяностых.
В DF отметили, что установка Win98 и игр на Xbox — это многоступенчатый процесс, на который потребуется время. Сначала на консоль необходимо поставить RetroArch (для чего авторы воспользовались специальным руководством), затем — DOSBox, а затем — саму операционную систему.
При этом всё ПО, от Windows до игр, придётся устанавливать по отдельности с помощью ISO-образов дисков. Их нужно будет переносить на устройство — например, через FTP.
Плюс, по словам Батталии, заключается в том, что ОС на Xbox должна поддерживать любые программы, которые запустились бы на ПК под Win98. Включая Microsoft Office 97: автор даже написал сценарий для своего видео в Word прямо на консоли.
Одним из главных недостатков в DF назвали отсутствие поддержки мыши, но признали, что правый стик геймпада не так уж плохо справляется с перемещением курсора. Как отметил Батталия, во время пользования интерфейсом ОС и игры в шутеры он не испытывал неудобств, а вот к RTS и играм с изометрической перспективой пришлось приспосабливаться.
Как выяснили специалисты Digital Foundry, с запуском игр через Win98 на консоли связан целый ряд ограничений. Помимо того, что сама DOSBox Pure никак не задействует графический процессор Series X, а только его CPU, консоли приходится выполнять эмуляцию «в несколько слоёв»:
У «железа», которое эмулирует DOSBox Pure, в свою очередь, есть свои особенности. «Процессор» там должен быть аналогом Pentium с частотой 66 МГц, а за графику отвечает виртуальная 2D-карта с подключенным к ней ускорителем 3dfx Voodoo с 12 МБ памяти и максимальным разрешением 800×600 (в теории — аналог Voodoo 2).
Однако на деле 3D-ускоритель работает значительно медленнее — как раз из-за «многослойной» эмуляции и того, что у Xbox нет возможности использовать всю свою мощность. А вот виртуальный CPU, наоборот, может быть значительно более производительным, чем указано в описании системы.
В играх тех лет, работавших на Voodoo, производительность оставляет желать лучшего, хотя и разнится. По мнению автора Digital Foundry, основные трудности возникают с обработкой мультитекстур.
К примеру, показатель fps в Unreal на Series X с эмулятором более чем в два раза ниже, чем на ПК, где установлен 3dfx Voodoo 3 с частотой, пониженной примерно до уровня Voodoo 2.
Многие более требовательные игры работают на эмуляторе не лучшим образом — к примеру, Sega Rally в разрешении 480p выдаёт около 20 fps. А вот с ранними играми вроде Turok всё значительно лучше (35-38 fps при 384p).
Однако, если в игре есть поддержка программного рендеринга, то ситуация меняется. Без необходимости заниматься эмуляцией 3D-ускорителя и его драйверов, процессор консоли может направить всю доступную в DOSBox Pure мощность на саму игру.
Это значит, что все практически все RTS тех лет будут работать почти безупречно, так как в них 3D-графики нет. В C&C: Tiberian Sun никаких проблем не обнаружили — в том числе при воспроизведении роликов.
А вот в шутерах, например, Quake и Half-Life, специалисты DF рекомендуют выбрать опцию «software rendering» в настройках, так как за счёт этого производительность сразу повысится. Игра от Valve стала работать в среднем на 33% быстрее.
Как показала проверка Digital Foundry, при включённом рендеринге без помощи GPU в подобных играх эмуляция на Series X значительно превосходит даже показатели ПК тех времён.

В итоге получается, что Xbox Series X с Win98, запущенной на DOSBox Pure, в условном 1998 году был бы аналогом ПК с устаревшей видеокартой, но процессором «из будущего». Графика работает в играх примерно на уровне оригинального Voodoo, а CPU — на уровне Pentium 3 с частотой в 1 ГГц.
Специалисты из Digital Foundry проверили работу эмулятора и на Xbox Series S, но разница оказалась не слишком большой, хотя и ощутимой. Протестировав оба устройства с помощью Half-Life, они пришли к выводу, что «младшая» консоль уступает «старшей» примерно 5% при включённом программном рендеринге, и 8-10% при рендеринге с виртуальным 3D-ускорителем.
В общей сложности сотрудники DF опробовали больше десятка игр, и запустить не удалось только Diablo II, которая установилась, но так и не заработала. Связано ли это с самим эмулятором или способом установки, они не поняли.
Специалисты Digital Foundry пришли к выводу, что попробовать эмуляцию Windows 98 для игры на Xbox Series определённо стоит. А если разработчикам DOSBox Pure удастся оптимизировать работу виртуальной Voodoo и добавить поддержку USB-мышей, то это будет «один из лучших способов сыграть в классические ПК-игры на сегодняшний день».

The major issue i had with some of previous mods is that some story elements didnt really fit with the half life lore, such as the whole mk ultra mind control thing and the whole dr belezbub thing, i know its a mod and isn’t meant to be canon, but i really think your trilogy of mods is really good enough to fit into the canon, it can be on the level of half life echoes and vistiors with a bit more polish, but thats just my suggestion. This mod however perfectley fits into canon, and it covers a period that not enough mods cover, the aftermath of the black mesa incident and i think it perfectley captures the apocalyptic feel that i would imagine, my only real problem, is that the ending fight drags on a bit too long, i think if it were reduced by 10 minutes it would be perfect length, as a new mexico resident myself i have to say you got the look of a small new mexico town down pretty well, my only suggestion would be maybe to change the name of the town as its a bit weird of a name. Other than that i think this mod is really good, my only real problem is with some of the story elements of previous mods, i dont mind if you keep it to secret levels and stuff but i understand if you dont want to change those elements, but i think that if you did this mod trilogy would fit into the established canon perfectly

El problema es. Que instale la version 1.0 ( SIN Steam ) y lo extraje cuando termino la descarga y me saco un error de que las carpetas estaban incompletas.

Ya esta! ya puede arreglarlo, esque por algun motivo el Winrar no lo queria abrir, asique busque otro programa para abrir archivos rar, utilize el Winzap y funciono!

Bueno comosea, la cosa es, que ya alfin puedo jugar este mod despues de 2 años de intentar de jugarlo.

MP5 is now using correct spread values. Glock-18 now has a remastered texture. Shotgun hand model is fixed (Handpak was missing. Intentionally wasn’t added by Valve i believe.) Added a new rare animation for Shotgun. Added a new rare animation for Crossbow. Hand Grenade is now using beta throwing animation. Player is now able to toss hand grenades. (Aim a little bit lower to toss grenades) Sparks on NPC’s head is fixed (Kinda) Fixed some weapon animations were cutting off. (Was happening in Satchel, Snark and Hand Grenade) NPC’s turning yaw is fixed. It means NPC’s can turn faster regardless how high FPS is. Alien Slave, Zombie and Human Grunt received remastered textures. MP5’s world model texture is remastered. H.E.V Suit now has a better model and textures.

Install instructions
If you want to update an older version, do the same thing but choose to replace the old files when prompted.
After that, simply restart steam and the mod should show up.

This mod has not been tested on anything other than the steam release of Half-Life on Windows. Linux and mac aren’t supported yet, unfortunately.

Main task of this program is to enable its user to launch any mod designed for either Half-Life1 or Half-Life2, which are games developed by ‘Valve’ corporation. While being small and fully portable, it allows to setup game parameters, add custom mod, sort mod list by most played. It’s a program more oriented to provide usability and easiness to access different mods (if user has many), rather than provide any output data.

2) Half-Life 2:
This program requires 2 files to be present in System32/SysWOW64 directory (for 32bit/64bit OS respectively), which are:
These are files provided by Microsoft which stand for (Microsoft Common Dialog Control 6.0 and Microsoft Windows Common Controls 6.0)
If I’m not mistaken these files are provided by default with «Microsoft Word 2003», anyway,
These 2 files are compiled in the application itself, so at start-up the application will scan for these files and will ask the user for copy permission in case files were not found.
Important!
It must have the same name as your main executable file and must be in the same folder with your main executable file.

Best Half-life 1 and 2 mod launcher is steam.
The only bad thing about steam are the updates. they broke Smod a few times with the HDR and the updates
«that program shouldn’t be 6mB.» I wanted to make source files available to everyone, even to those who don’t have internet connection 🙂 [But have VB6 ;)] I don’t think that 6mb would be a problem, considering the size of HDDs manufactured today.
Using the information from liblist.gam could’ve been a nice way, but considering that not all liblist.gam files may be the same and that there is also an ico file required which not all mods may have, I think it’s better the way it is now.
Adding the all most renown mods to the list should’ve been my duty. That’s not hard, just copy/paste in the code with «VBNewLine» command between them. If I just had that list with the corresponding gamedir name and the corresponding icons for them. That’s probably another reason for leaving source files embedded in the program.
Maybe later i will make an Update. BTW, in the ProjectFiles zip archive you can find a readme file explaining how to add new mods. That’s probably 5 minutes to do that, if you have icon files formatted with the appropriate size, color bits and shape, the list of mods in the following format «FullGameName = GameDirName» and Review/Walkthrough files in txt format [which are not mandatory].

The source should in a separated download, those who will use the source are going to be pretty rare, mostly because you choosed to use an outdated language. It’s not a HDD size problem, by your logic people with slow internet are going to have a problem with that
The liblist.gam always use the same file format, of course the file are going to be different that’s the whole point, about the icon: default icon
I shouldn’t have to edit the bloody code to get new mods listed, that’s just a whole pain in the ***, steam don’t ask to the list the mods yourself so should your app
What is better: Quality or Quantity?
I would rather make an app standalone with a reduced list of supported mods which I could always update easily, than something monotone which couldn’t be fixed without modifying program construction.
No steam does it the way I told you, in HL1 case it scans for every folder available in the half-life directory, if their is a listlib.gam it reads it looks for the proper data, mod name etc. Same principle applies for source mods, there is no need for a complete list of all mods, nor do you need to know the game directories in advance.
That could’ve been a way for listing mods in the launcher but would’ve been harder to apply an icon for them, because listlib.gam doesn’t provide a suitable icon. At the time i designed this launcher i didn’t know about «liblist.gam». For custom-made mods i think «Add custom mod» option is sufficient (you can browse for an icon there). If i just added a lot of mods at the design time, i think it would’ve been rarely a case when people were having more than one or two custom mods to add. Still this is a mod launcher, not a mod tester.
It keeps saying there’s files missing, specifically MSCOMCTL.OCX and COMDLG32.OCX HELP

This might sound crazy but i think WON half life is my favorite launcher. Steam runs better but has countless updates. There were even times that my game got interrupted by some ridiculous update.
