Fortnite World Cup:

Faze
Dota 2
Twitch.
Как сообщает GitHyp, в воскресенье пик одновременных зрителей Fortnite World Cup составил 1,3 млн, что значительно выше результатов CS:GO и League of Legends.

Fortnite World Cup.
Fortnite World Cup

What is the Fortnite World Cup?
The Fortnite World Cup is a massive competition created by Epic Games. The competition will see players from around the world do battle for huge sums of money and bragging rights. The competitions will run over the span of four months and will see competitors do battle in solos, duos, and the unique Creative Trials.
Fortnite World Cup Online Opens
The Online Open Qualifiers are relatively easy to understand. Players will compete in their region in either solos or duos competitions for points. The first day of each competition, which will always be a Saturday, will give competitors a three-hour window in which to play 10 games.
In those 10 games, players will receive points for where they place in the game, as well as the number of eliminations. The 3,000 players with the best scores will move onto Sunday when the points reset and the same process occurs.
The top scoring team from the Sunday will receive cash and an invite to the Fortnite World Cup Finals.
Fortnite World Cup Creative
The Creative Trials work a little bit differently than the Open Qualifiers.15 participants will be chosen to compete in the Trials. Each Trial will consist of five different events based on creations within the community.
Fortnite World Cup Rules
Once a player qualifies to compete in the Fortnite World Cup Qualifiers (see below), the rules are simple. Players compete in 10 matches in a specific three-hour time period.
Players compete in either solo or duos to earn points based on placement in matches and eliminations. The top 3,000 players from the first day of an open qualifier progress to day two, when everything resets and they do it again.

Fortnite LANs could be returning very soon: World Cup 2023?
It may be time to start grinding. All signs point towards an imminent return for in-person Fortnite competition.
In early 2020, the Covid pandemic brought large gatherings around the globe to a standstill. Sports matches were played with no supporters, concerts were cancelled, and even shows at smaller venues and cinema trips were out of the question.
Esports suffered the same fate, and tournaments were either taken online or called off altogether. Epic Games announced that in-person Fortnite events would be suspended indefinitely.
We don’t know when a return to large, global, in-person events will be practical, but we’re hopeful to be able to put on some form of Fortnite World Cup in 2021. In the meantime we have more info about online events with FNCS, Cash Cups, 3rd Party Events and Broadcasts.
— Fortnite Competitive (@FNCompetitive) April 30, 2020
As vaccines rolled out and the world began to inch back towards normality, certain titles experimented with holding LAN competitions again, and now many have live audiences too. The decision wasn’t so easy for Fortnite, with the large lobby sizes making logistics and safety considerations that much harder.
However, things are starting to feel more optimistic:
Last summer, in an email sent to certain orgs, Epic confirmed that they did not plan to allow in-person events until Q2 2022 – which we are now in. Their latest update on the subject came in November, when they stated that they were accepting applications for third-party tournaments again, though they did not comment on the future of official Epic-run LANs.
We saw the first of these third-party affairs with the Twitch Rivals Streamer Bowl 3. Though this was only small scale it was a huge win. The show itself was incredibly exciting to watch, and just one of the contestants tested positive for Covid.
if you’re actively competing in FN rn, now is the time you should be grinding harder than ever. The writing is on the wall that LANs are coming back, they are using these media days as test events and if you guys wanna be good when they come then start grinding now
In a recent tweet, BBG Calc predicted that upcoming media days are being used as “test events” for bigger in-person tournaments. A selection of pro players have been invited to attend an in-person media session, to conduct interviews and record content ahead of this season’s FNCS broadcast.
Popular Fortnite caster and analyst Reisshub will also be going, and though he said he doesn’t know much about what to expect, he estimated that around 40 or 50 players had been invited. While this a decent number of people, they are unlikely to all be together most of the time and realistically it’s unlikely to provide much insight as to how a LAN would look.
Test or not, these media days are yet another indicator that Epic Games is starting to ramp things up. The release of Zero Build has put Fortnite back in the public limelight, and in-person events could be a key ingredient to keeping that momentum going.
Fortnite with no building > most fun I’ve had on Fortnite in YEARS.
It’s probable that Epic’s first official LANs will be invitationals with no crowd, similar to the Secret Skirmish in Chapter 1. This could work for something like FNCS All-Stars, perhaps accompanied by a Zero Build competition for content creators.
As for the next Fortnite World Cup, we can only guess. An event of that magnitude is definitely feasible for 2023, but it takes a lot of planning, so it comes down to whether Epic is confident enough that it would go ahead to begin committing resources… if they haven’t already.
If it were to happen, I’d anticipate an announcement well in advance of qualifiers to give everyone time to prepare and also to prolong the hype cycle. With in-person events back on the cards, the success of Zero Build, and Creative 2.0 on the horizon, we could well witness a Fortnite boom reminiscent of 2018 in the coming months.

Full Fortnite World Cup Finals information and final results – Saturday, July 27 [UPDATING]
Professional Fortnite esports’ greatest event, the World Cup Finals, has finally arrived as of July 26.
Competitive Fortnite has been revving up into a full sprint over the last year with the Qualifiers and Skirmishes. As the most exciting finale in gaming history begins, we’ve got all the details you’ll need to follow along.
As if the event’s esports lineup wasn’t enough to bring in every fan of Fortnite, a new Pro-Am event also takes place during the Finals. We’re so excited that we can barely write straight, so let’s get into the Finals schedule, Pro-Am info, how to watch, and more.
Fortnite World Cup Finals Full Schedule
Epic Games released a comprehensive schedule for the entire Fortnite World Cup Finals event prior to the event. The schedule gives times for stream starts, fan festival openings, arena closings, and more.
Moving onto the Finals schedule, the Finals will be played over three days from July 26 through July 28. The location is the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City.
With the event being so massive, you’ll want to pick and choose your favorite events to watch unless you’ve got a lot of free time. The weekend begins with the Creative Finals and Pro-Am.
Fortnite World Cup Schedule
Friday, July 26 – Complete
Doors open to the on-site Fan Festival at 9:30 AM EST with the Stadium opening at 11:00 AM EST. The Creative Finals & Pro-Am schedule is as follows:
Once the Pro-Am is done and dusted, the day’s streams will wind down and Epic will prepare for the Duo Finals on Saturday.
Saturday, July 27 – Complete
Epic’s Fan Festival continues at 9:30 AM EST with the Duo Finals beginning three hours later.
Sunday, July 28
As with Saturday, the Fan Festival opens its doors at 9:30 AM EST with the Solos Finals starting three hours later.
How to watch the Fortnite World Cups Finals
The event can be streamed via the official Fortnite stream. Epic has also confirmed that players will be able to view multiple player perspectives live through the Fortnite client.
In patch v9.41, Epic also introduced a unique ‘Picture-in-Picture’ streaming option that allows you to play Fortnite and watch the Finals at the same time.
You can also watch the event from Twitter, Facebook, and Youtube.
You’ll even be able to watch “live-replays” of the events through the in-game ‘Compete’ tab. These live-replays essentially allow you to spectate the games as they are going on and control the spectator action yourself!
Teams & Players participating in the Finals
Two hundred professional Fortnite players will be going head-to-head in the Solos and Duos Finals. The players alone could fill up a decently sized arena when you take in the Pro-Am and Creative Finals competitors.
We’ve compiled lists of all the qualified players and teams in dedicated hubs as the lists can get quite overwhelming. Check them out once you get a chance to see who is competing.
We’ve also made a breakdown of esports organizations which have the most players currently qualified. Some have definitely faired better than the rest with 3 or even 4 players in the competition.
The Pro-Am has its own pool of players and features a mix of pros and celebrities. Epic announced these players in wave prior to the event, similar to the Summer Block Party. The players will compete for shares for charity money.
Finally, the Creative Finals features eight teams of four. Each team has received a unique name and color to designate them during the event. Each team will led by a ‘Captain’ who chose the other three via a series of Trials earlier in the year.

Fortnite leaks confirm Beerus, Goku, and Vegeta skins for Dragon Ball Z crossover in Chapter 3
Anime fans in the Fortnite community are waiting for the Dragon Ball Z crossover, and leaks have confirmed that it will bring in Beerus.
Fortnite v21.30 update introduced a ton of new content and the files now have more Dragon Ball Z elements. From skins for Beerus, Goku, and Vegeta to a Bulma reference, here’s everything we know so far.
Fortnite players were certainly shocked when they came across leaks regarding a Dragon Ball Z crossover. Both waves of the Naruto cosmetics were a massive hit in the Item Shop and it is evident that the developers now wish to capitalize on other popular anime series.
Leaks previously revealed that four skins will arrive in the first-ever Dragon Ball Z x Fortnite crossover, and one of them is going to be Beerus.
Beerus vs Goku in Dragon Ball Z
Fortnite is working on a Beerus skin for the Dragon Ball Z crossover
As per prominent leaker HYPEX, Epic Games is working on a purple skin codenamed ‘Cat’. For anyone who’s watched Dragon Ball Z, this isn’t a tough one to crack. Beerus, the god of destruction of Universe 7, perfectly fits this description.
With this, three skins have been confirmed for the upcoming DBZ crossover:
The fourth skin will be a female character according to leaks, and it is safe to assume that it will be Bulma.
CONFIRMED: These are 3 of the 4 upcoming Dragon Ball skins!
– Goku
– Vegeta
– Beerus
Following the v21.30 update, HYPEX discovered that one of the Fortnite x DBZ quests will have a beach umbrella setup. This could be a reference to many things like the Kame House, Bulma, or Beerus but it is too early to confirm it.
The Creative Stamina item that started all the rumors about the crossover will also be available on the map. It might be a part of some quests or the developers might just tease the crossover through it.
Not sure if this is anything DBZ related but this was added and is suppose to tease the collab pic.twitter.com/J80KpTXnYD
— InTheShade – Fortnite Leaks (@InTheShadeYT) July 18, 2022
Last but not least, the Attack Pods from Dragonball will arrive as Gliders in Fortnite. The 21.30 patch added a glider texture with a striking resemblance to these pods and even its codename, StaminaVigor, suggests that it is related to DBZ.
Thanks to people in the comments for pointing out that it looks like one of the Attack Pods from Dragonball! This will be one of the gliders part of the collab! https://t.co/sNhKEJN4W8 pic.twitter.com/6rLQku9OA6
Fortnite x Dragon Ball Z crossover to have a special event screen, quests, and rewards
It seems like the DBZ crossover will be quite similar to Naruto. Players can look forward to taking part in challenges that will grant them free DBZ-themed skins. Obviously, this will be accompanied by Goku, Vegeta, and Beerus outfits in the Item Shop.
The Dragonball-Z collab will have a special event screen! And a special quests and rewards screen! pic.twitter.com/VIKoZ0u0sJ
— InTheShade – Fortnite Leaks (@InTheShadeYT) July 18, 2022
The official website for the DBZ crossover is in the works. It should become functional by August, which is also when Epic Games will officially announce the collaboration.
As of now, this is everything we know about the upcoming DBZ x Fortnite crossover. The next update for Chapter 3 Season 3 will be out after four weeks, and until then, players can enjoy the new summer-themed content.

Fortnite update v21.30 patch notes: No Sweat Summer event, Prime Shotgun, more
Fortnite v21.30 is finally here. From the No Sweat Summer event to new POIs to weapons, here’s everything that arrived with it.
Ahead of the developers’ summer break, Fortnite has released the v21.30 update. It has arrived with the No Sweat Summer event, map changes like Daily Bloomgle, new Prime Shotgun, and more.
The hype for Fortnite v21.30 was sky-scraping because Epic Games will soon go on a break till the second week of August. This means that the battle royale title won’t experience any live changes for the upcoming weeks, and the latest update should ensure that the community doesn’t get bored.
Fortnite v21.30 brings in a No Sweat Insurance NPC, summer-themed POI, and new No Sweat Summer event quests
Fortnite players desperately wanted to celebrate the summer in battle royale modes this time. Luckily, the No Sweat Summer event is here with the v21.30 update.
No Sweat Insurance quests will replace the Vibin quests for the next four weeks as the Scientist’ research regarding the Reality Tree will be halted temporarily.
No Sweat Summer quests
The latest No Sweat Summer quests in Fortnite are:
These quests will grant 15k XP each and a new Sweaty Sailer umbrella glider will be a free reward for completing them. The quests also indicate that the Boogie Bombs will return soon. The goofy item has been a fan-favorite for ages, and it makes perfect sense for it to return during a Vibin’ themed season.
New NPCs added to the map in #Fortnite v21.30:
– Beach Bomber
– Unpeely
– The Underwriter
– Summer Drift
– Boardwalk Ruby pic.twitter.com/05djF3yysS
New summer-themed NPCs will now roam around the island. These include:
The Underwriter is the newest NPC in Fortnite and represents the New Sweat Insurance building from Tilted Towers. In contrast, Unpeely, Beach Bomber, and Boardwalk Ruby are famous characters who always return during the summer.
Fortnite community to vote for Tilted Tower buildings through Rebuild the Block quests
The restoration of Tilted Towers began in Chapter 3 Season 3. Fortnite asked map builders to come up with their best building designs and nine buildings have made the cut.
In the coming weeks, players will donate bars for the construction projects in Tilted Towers. The building design with the most votes will officially become a part of the POI. This will also help players in completing the Rebuild The Block quests:
It is clear that we’ll witness new Rebuild The Block quests every week and the developers are yet to reveal the subsequent stages.
To be fair, the XP crisis in Chapter 3 Season 3 could come to an end now as every Rebuild The Block quest will reward players with 14,000 XP.

New Prime Shotgun and consumable Ice-Cream item enter the loot pool with Fortnite v21.30
A brand-new Prime Shotgun will be available in chests, supply drops, and floor loot with v21.30. The stats of this weapon at Rare rarity are:
Leaks have revealed that the Prime Shotgun is an explosive weapon with a surprisingly long range for a shotgun. Its damage output is brilliant and the slow fire rate seems to be the only downside.
New consumable items have been added in the form of Ice Cones. These include:
Interestingly, the files of the Burst SMG have been updated as well and it might return soon.
Daily Bugle changes to Daily Bloomgle in Fortnite v21.30 and other map changes
Epic Games has continued the amazing map changes in Chapter 3 Season 3 with the latest update. Daily Bugle, under the effect of the Reality Tree, is now called Daily Bloomgle. As usual, it will now switch between themes based on Neo Tilted, Coral Castle, Colossal Coliseum, and more.
The Daily Bugle will be renamed to the «Daily Bloomgle» once the Reality Bloom touches it! pic.twitter.com/6wvoyEsNhx
The Reality Tree will continue to grow and after Daily Bugle, it’ll reach Condo Canyon.
Last but not least, a summer-themed stage will be set up on the island for No Sweat Summer. This is where players can expect to complete their event-based quests and earn a ton of XP.
The following files below are considered to be related to a «Concert Stage» on the Fortnite island. pic.twitter.com/3EIgALoIj8
Hotfix updates will be released weekly but no major Fortnite updates will arrive for almost a month now. The developers have already added weekly quests till Week 10, and the Dragon Ball Z crossover will be released after the break.

Fortnite World Cup?

Epic Games
Fortnite?
Natus Vincere.
Jamside и 7ssk7

Fortnite World Cup 2021
Ранее Epic Games отменила Fortnite World Cup 2020.

Fornite’s World Cup tourney is skipping this year because of the coronavirus
Epic Games’ Fortnite World Cup will return in 2021, provided that large-scale physical events are viable this time next year. Months passed this year without much word from Epic on its e-sports plans for 2020, which was expected to include the second Fortnite World Cup this summer.
This year’s World Cup tournament was canceled because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, which continues to affect the entire gaming industry.
Physical events are still considered unsafe, which is unlikely to change in the coming months. While the Fortnite World Cup could have shifted to an online format like many of its e-sports counterparts, Epic said the “limitations of cross-region online competition“ prevent this from happening on its Fortnite Competitive Twitter account.
Still, there will be many other Fortnite competitions, all held remotely. The Fortnite Champion Series will happen every season this year, including for the upcoming season 3, providing a space for the best pro players in the world to compete on a weekly basis.
For amateur players, cash cups will happen on a regular schedule. Anyone around the world who has two-factor authentication activated on their account can earn points toward monetary prizes in these online, open regional tournaments.
Epic Games is also helping third-parties host their own private tournaments whenever and wherever in Fortnite. The only stipulation being that they must be held online until further notice.

With more than 3,000 tweets and counting at the time of publication, fans are showing their immense appreciation for the Fortnite developer clearly communicating its plans for this year’s events, even if the World Cup won’t be one of them.

The Online Opens for the Fortnite World Cup kick off on Saturday 12 April.
Players from all over the world can compete to gain the title of the world’s greatest Solo and Duo Fortnite player!
But, who will win the ultimate Victory Royale?!
More Fortnite stuff
Who can play?
Other than that, any player on PC, console, or mobile should be able to take part in qualifiers and fight for a spot to play the Finals.
However, players should watch out because some of the top-ranked players from all around the world will also be competing!
How do the stages work?
For the Online Opens, there will be 10 weekly qualifier events starting on April 13 and running until June 16.
There will be five weeks of Solo tournaments and five weeks of Duos, alternating between the two each week.
Only the top 100 Solo players and top 50 Duos will go through to the Fortnite World Cup 2019 Finals in July.
Players will be split into five separate regions based on where they are playing: North America, Europe, Asia, Brazil, and Oceania.
Competition will be tough, as there are only a certain number of top spots to qualify for the finals.
Let’s take a closer look at how the qualifying stages will work.
The process starts with the Arena Mode, which will always be available starting with the v8.20 update that will be released this week.
Players will have to earn as many points as they can to reach the top of Arena Mode, and qualify for the Open tournament.
The Open tournaments will take place every Saturday, and players who qualified from the Arena Mode will be able to play in them.
Players will have three hours to score as many points as they can in up to 10 matches.
The top 3,000 players from each region move up to the final stage, the Open Finals on Sundays.
Every Sunday, the top players from each region will play up to 10 matches in three hours, and try to score as many points as they can.
The Fortnite World Cup Finals May Be the Biggest Thing in Sports This Weekend. Here’s How to Watch
A free-to-play title for both mobile devices and traditional game consoles, Fortnite has taken the world by storm, ever since its battle royale mode became free for players in September 2017. The game challenges players in marksmanship and building ability as everyone on a map fights for the title of last person standing.
While new battle royale games have iterated on the Fortnite formula, the game continues to be a force in multiplayer online gaming. And to prove it, Epic Games is hosting a gargantuan championship event called the Fortnite World Cup.
Fortnite World Cup schedule, and where it’s streaming
The 2019 Fortnite World Cup matches begin on July 26 at 1 p.m. Eastern. Viewers can tune into the Fortnite World Cup on the game’s official Twitch and YouTube channels. In addition, Epic is streaming the Fortnite World Cup at fortnite.com/watch.
Day One has kicked off with the #FortniteWorldCup Creative Finals!
Stay throughout the broadcast to see some of your favorite competitive players show their skills in the Celebrity Pro-Am at 4:00PM ET.
The Fortnite World Cup finals schedule offers a wide array of events. Prior to the start of the first match each day, viewers can enjoy the pre-show starting at 12:30 p.m. Eastern. After the pre-show, viewers will be able to watch 50 teams compete in the Duos finals matches on Saturday, and 100 players compete in the Solo finals matches on Sunday.
Before the final two days of the 2019 Fortnite World Cup, Fortnite will showcase a celebrity match at 4:00 p.m. Eastern. Epic Games’ last celebrity match, at the E3 conference in Los Angeles drew stars like comedian Joel McHale and football player Marshawn Lynch. This time, Fortnite’s World Cup celebrity match will feature names like wrestler Xavier Woods and actor Cody Walker.
The winners’ ceremonies will take place on the final two days of the tournament, Saturday July 27 and Sunday July 28, at 4:45 p.m. Eastern, both days. A full schedule of the Fortnite World Cup finals weekend can be found on Epic Games site as well as entire list of every athlete playing to win.
Big battles, even bigger prizes
How can a free-to-play game afford to give out so much money in prizes? Fortnite’s approach to optional, purchasable content is a big reason, says Jamie Madigan, author of the psychology book Getting Gamers. “Many other games let players buy cosmetic items (avatar skins, voice packs, etc.), but Fortnite lets you buy something more with the battle pass, which differs from other games,” he says. “The battle pass doesn’t rely on random chance like loot boxes do, which a lot of players appreciate. It lets you make easily understood and observable progress towards unlocking things.”
Regardless of who wins the 2019 Fortnite World Cup on Sunday, the event has shown that free-to-play titles can carry just as much cachet as games with a traditional price tag—or a major, global, athletic event for that matter—lending further credence to the idea that the business model, and e-sports, are here to stay.

Fortnite World Cup: Everything You Need to Know
The Fortnite World Cup kicks off this weekend. Take a look at who’s participating, the schedule, how to watch, a first look at the arena, and more.
The Fortnite World Cup Finals is just one day away, which means it’s time to calibrate those streams and get ready for 72 + hours of Fortnite coverage.
Here is everything you need to know about the event so you won’t miss a minute of the action.
Schedule
First and foremost, let’s tackle the schedule so you know when to tune in for the events you want to see.
Friday, July 26 will be home to the more lighthearted events of the weekend. The Preshow starts at 12:30 PM EST, and leads into the Fortnite World Cup Creative at 1:00 PM EST.
World Cup Creative
There are eight teams of four players, each captained by a content creator and filled with three players who qualified through specific Creative Mode trials.
The team captains are:
Pro-Am
July 26 will also host the Pro-Am, which has always been a popular attraction in the past. The event kicks off at 4:00 PM EST.
This will be the third Pro-Am event after E3 2018 and the Summer Block Party about a month ago.
The former team undoubtedly has the advantage, here. The game has changed a lot this past year, but not too much since RL Grime and Airwaks won at the Summer Block Party.
Here are the 50 teams competing in the event, including big-name Fortnite players like Cloakzy, Myth, Tfue, Ghost Aydan, Nick Eh 30, and many more.
The Competition
RT if you’re excited for the Fortnite World Cup Finals this weekend! #FortniteWorldCup
Now, onto what many of you came here to see: the Solo and Duo World Cup Finals.
The Duo competition starts on Saturday, July 27 at 1:00 PM EST and the Solo finals kick off at the same time on Sunday.
You can take a look at the full list of solo competitors here, along with a breakdown of where each player landed when they qualified.
Of course, the map has changed a bit since the qualifiers ended. There haven’t been too many major changes, but you can bet that the group landing at Polar Peak have been looking elsewhere since the monster took the castle for a dip in the ocean.
Here is a list of all of the Duo teams who qualified for the World Cup as well.
Casting Team
The casting team is full of familiar faces that you’ll recognize from other major Fortnite events. Jordan Fisher is the big addition here, and it will be exciting to see what he adds to the group when they hit our streams on July 26.
It’s fair to estimate that the casting team will rotate throughout the Creative World Cup Finals and Celebrity Pro-Am, but that the A-Team of Dr. Lupo and CourageJD will take over once the real competition kicks off on Saturday.
How to Watch
More interestingly, though, you’ll be able to watch the World Cup while you play Fortnite. Epic added a Watch Live setting that allows you to play the world cup as an overlay on your game.
Of course, you will probably want to turn this off when you get into a serious conflict, but this is just another example of how Epic Games continues to impress the Fortnite player base with their innovations.
What event are you most excited for? Who do you think will take home the prize in the Pro-Am, Solo, and Duo competitions? Let us know on Twitter @FortniteTracker.
Fortnite

Fortnite World Cup 2020 cancelled: Why Epic Games should’ve gone digital
If Epic Games want to truly take over the esports sphere with Fortnite, they’ll work a little harder at it.
The Fortnite World Cup was an amazingly successful esports event that set the bar for other games.
There were 2.3 million people watching online and 19,000 in attendance over the 3 day event.
And though things looked great for competitive Fortnite, there’s some uncertainty around coronavirus quarantine.
Despite coronavirus increasing the amount that people play video games signficantly, it also means danger for in-person esports events. Especially ones on the scale of the Fortnite World Cup.
Table of Contents
Epic Games has responded accordingly, and have officially cancelled Fornite World Cup 2020.
But why cancel instead of going digital?
Fortnite World Cup 2020 cancelled
Coronavirus has taken many things from us, and we can now add Fortnite World Cup 2020 to that list.
What was scheduled to be one of the biggest esports events in history is now not even a digital competition. Epic Games fully cancelled the event due to issues with cross-regional online competition.
Whether Epic Games targets these cross-regional competitive issues for future digital events remains to be seen, but for now, all in-person Fortnite events will be digital. This doesn’t include Fortnite World Cup 2020, which was outright cancelled.
Why not digital?
Every major esports event has gone the route of going digital due to coronavirus. It’s a huge surprise that one of the strongest presences in esports today is outright cancelling its biggest event instead of taking to the internet.
The reasoning Epic Games offers for cancelling its biggest event is issues with cross-regional online competition in Fortnite.
The decision to cancel Fortnite World Cup 2020 instead of fixing issues within the game to allow digital competition shows a lack of foresight and care from Epic Games.
This event is vital to the competitive Fortnite ecosystem. Epic Games failing to adapt and protect it is a huge blow to the company’s image in esports.
Simply put, if every smaller game out can do it, surely Fortnite can too.
Will Fortnite World Cup 2021 also be cancelled?
EMPTY SEATS: Fans will be hoping that the event goes ahead, but if not in-person, will Fortnite fix its digital landscape?
Much is up in the air at the moment, due to the ongoing battle with the COVID-19 pandemic.
With government issued orders to clamp down on any mass gatherings, the Fortnite World Cup, which brought in over 19,000 fans over the three day 2019 event, could very well be cancelled again in 2021.
The most affected competitors

His YouTube following currently stands at over two million subs, whilst he also regularly streams on Twitch.
At just 15-years-old, Mongraal is the youngest of the Faze Clan members and was looking to make a big impact at the Fortnite World Cup this year.
