Locations
Lessons in Love is set in Kumon-Mi, a fictional city located outside of Tokyo in modern Japan. Little else is known about it. Most men and numerous women have been conscripted into a Space War. Only a few notable exceptions have been mentioned, including Ayane’s Father, the Butler of the Amamiya family and Sensei. A barrier was erected around the city which limits travel within city boundaries. Residents can not leave the city, nor can anyone from the outside enter.

Visitable locations
School Dorms
The dorms where the entire main cast live. Most of the student body lives in the building adjacent to the dorms, with only Sensei’s class living in this building. It is not mandatory for students to live in the dorms, but most choose to do so. Each student staying in the dorms must have a roommate. The dorms can be visited every night, and once affection with a certain girl is high enough Sensei is allowed to enter their room. The second floor of the dorm is unlocked upon Molly MacCormack and Tsuneyo Tojo joining the class after the event Lifting the Curse.
The Bar is owned by Sara Sakakibara. It has few patrons and Sensei is often the only person there when visiting. Sana Sakakibara works there part-time and can be visited at night. The name of the bar is confirmed to be ‘Sakai-bar-a’ as of Opposite Directions.
Porn Shop
Tojo Ramen
Tojo Ramen is located in the Old District and is owned by Tsuneyo’s Father. Compared to the other establishments in the game it seems to do quite well, with a regular assortment of customers whenever visited. Tsuneyo works there whenever she isn’t in school and can be visited at night.
Koi Cafe
Koi Cafe is owned by Haruka Hamasaki. Sensei visits it often and it is the only location in the game that can be visited twice in one day. Rin Rokuhara and Molly MacCormack work there part time. Rin can be visited on weekend mornings and Molly can be visited any day at night.
Library
Futaba Fukuyama volunteers at the library and often spends time there reading, writing, and helping out. Futaba can be visited there on weekend mornings.
Soccer Field
The soccer field for Kumon-Mi Highschool is home to the school’s soccer team. Even though they can’t play games against other schools due to the lockdown around the city, captain Miku Maruyama and vice-captain Karin Kanda still gather the team for practice on weekends. Miku can be visited at the soccer field on weekend mornings, and after Miku’s Coach event Karin and her younger sister Kirin Kanda can be visited there too.
Ami’s Bedroom
Ami Arakawa’s room in Sensei’s house. She used to stay there every night but started staying at the dorms on Friday and Saturday nights. It can be visited on weekend mornings.
City Streets
Sensei occasionally decides to wander the streets of the city. He can do so on weekend afternoons and bumps into Yumi Yamaguchi often while doing so.
Shopping Mall
A large shopping complex within the city, home to numerous businesses, including Les Vêtements, which Chika Chosokabe works part-time at. Chika can be visited there on weekend afternoons.
Shrine
A traditional japanese shrine that Maya Makinami works at as a shrine maiden. Maya mentions that there are other shrines in the city, although Sensei has never visited any. Maya can be visited at the shrine on weekend afternoons.
A karate dojo that Ayane Amamiya practices at on weekends. She started practicing there on a whim and had only been going there for a few days when Sensei first visited. The karate instructor there often gets fed up with Ayane due to her bringing fake guns and other non-karate props often, as well as messing around with Sensei whenever he visits. Ayane can be visited there on weekend afternoons.
Maid Cafe
A newly place where you can get your special FLAVOR BEAM! on every plate you eat! Uta works as part-timer and Ami decide to start working there too since Sensei cuts her allowance. or better didn’t know about it until too late. bad Uncle!

Kumon-Mi Highschool
The school that Sensei and all of the students attend every weekday. It can only be visited manually during Rewrite, but otherwise Sensei will spend the morning and afternoon of every weekday there.
Old District
Run-down and plagued by poverty, the old district is home to more shady citizens. Introduced in This Town Has Two Halves, it is often referred to as the second half of town. Yumi Yamaguchi, Chika Chosokabe, Chinami Chosokabe, and Tsuneyo Tojo all live in the Old District. Notable locations within it include Tojo Ramen and the Chosokabe Flat.
Beach
Bordering Kumon-Mi lies a beach. It’s known as popular vacation place and can be visited via public transportation. It is unknown if it is possible to leave the city by sea. The beach is visited during the Scientific Research event and again during the Beach Special Update.
Amamiya Estate
The home of Ayane Amamiya and her family, it is the second largest mansion in Kumon-Mi. The Amamiya Estate hosts the class halloween party and is visited during the Halloween Special Update.
Chosokabe Flat
The home of Chika Chosokabe and Chinami Chosokabe. It is located in the old district, and Sensei visits or is invited to come over occasionally to hang out with Chika or take care of Chinami. Yumi Yamaguchi is also a frequent visitor who takes care of Chinami. Sensei can regularly hang out with Chinami on weekend mornings and afternoons by calling her after she gets a cell phone in Chika’s True Power: Unleashed event.
Near to the school dorms lies a small park. A small fountain is centered within it.
Old Kumon-Mi High School
Toward the borders of the city used to be the old high school. Students and staff were relocated within city. Few students remember having been there.
Newly Opened Library
In the city of Kumon-Mi a newly library opens up and Futaba want to visit it hoping to catch some new books to add to her collection. You go back and visit it during the Afternoon if you call up Futaba and ask to hang around.
Notes and Trivia
Ireland and America have been mentioned and exist within the world. It is likely that the depicted world around Kumon-Mi equals the real world.

Events are opportunities to either gain affection or experience unique moments with Characters. The latter mentioned are tracked and repeatable depending on the type.

Types
Generic Events (Visiting)
Visiting locations without meeting requirements associated for any new event results in generic visits. They increase the affection towards a girl by 1. These events do not appear in the event tracker.
They have no specific color. They are repeatable through visting.
Main Events
Main events are events that further the main story of Lessons in Love and often feature multiple girls. Main events occur automatically once their requirements are met. Requirements for main events usually include being past a certain day, but also frequently include having seen other main and character events.
They have no specific color. They are repeatable in the Scene Replay.
Character Events
Character events occur when visiting a girl, either at their unique location or at the dorm rooms, calling them once you acquired their phone number or once certain requirements are met. Requirements for character events always include either an high enough affection stat, with requirements increasing in multiples of 5, or having seen other character events for the girl. Character events may also require you to have seen certain main events or character events from other girls.
They have no specific color. They are repeatable in the Scene Replay.
Invite-Over Events
Since v0.13.0p2 you will able to invite over Chika, Ayane, Makoto, Futaba, Ami, Sara and Haruka.
Their color is skyblue. They are repeatable and give a choice between a friendly visit with different interactions or a lust event.
Lust Events
Lust events are character specific events that require a girl’s lust stat to be high enough, with requirements increasing in multiples of 5. Lust events appear under a girl’s event tracker in pink text and every witnessed lust event increases the girl’s lust by 1. However, some lust trackers only unlock if the opportunity is taken. During the first time for each girl you will get to choose the nickname you want the girl to call you.
Event Chains
Event Chains are a series of Events that occur in sequence with one another at various stages of the game. These chains come in two distinct varieties:

Missed Events
Secret Events
Secret events are unique events which only appear when certain conditions are met and are initiated through unusual means. These events are hidden in the event tracker, appearing as «. «, until they are encountered, at which point their name will be revealed.
They have no specific color. They are repeatable in the Scene Replay.
Deleted Events
During patch v0.24.0, Selebus reworked a slew of events and deleting others. You can still see them using Sensei’s PC in his room during the morning on weekends.
Progression
It’s general consense that it’s less about grinding and more about getting a feel where to find new events. As of v0.9.0p2 it is unnecessary to have any girl higher than 50 with 25 to 30 being a good average.
Some additional considerations are required for special types of events:
Please note that events can, although rarely, appear in differing order if their triggers allow so. Event A may come before Event B, however A has a requirement not met yet while Event B does. Therefore, Event B would take precidence.

As previously mentioned Lessons in Love occasionally has flashes or strobe effects meant to confuse or disturb the player. If you are photosensitive or have epilepsy it is not recommended that you play this game. You have been warned.
Is there a non-scary version of Lessons in Love?
No, and there never will be.
Is there a discord for LiL?
There sure is! Just click the Discord Link. Everyone is welcome to join.
Where can I find the newest version?
The latest public versions are available over at itch.io, SubscribeStar or REDACTED. It is discouraged to look in other places beside these official sources. It is frowned upon to «Pirate» newer versions of the game not yet released to non-patrons or people that aren’t subscribed on SubscribeStar. Getting the latest public version from official sources will also keep you safe from any malicious software.
Important announcement regarding the ANDROID version of the game
Lessons in Love (0.16.0 Part 2) is now so large that it is not possible to pack the game into an APK file. RenPy will literally not let me create an Android build anymore. This is not something I consciously chose to cancel and had no idea it would end this abruptly. There just seems to be a hard data cap of 4GB when packaging builds and the game is now well over that.
This means that in order to run the game on your phone, you must download the PC version and run it through an emulator program like JoiPlay. Transferring saves IS possible, so you will not lose your progress.

Apologies for the inconvenience, but due to the amount of content and the amount of planned content, converting to the emulator was going to be an inevitability sooner or later.
But on the bright side, the game is about to be longer than the Bible. So take that, God.
How can I use JoiPlay to play Lessons in Love on my Android phone?
Why use Joiplay instead of the android version? (APK)
The Android version will be unable to be installed on all android devices due to the games file size. Therefore Joiplay is the only way to play the game on phone.
How do I transfer my saves?
In the game folder location, there should be a folder called «Saves» you can transfer all your saves to that folder and they will be ready for use! (If you don’t see a saves folder, then you first need to create a save before the folder will be created)
What if an update comes out, how do i transfer the new content to JoiPlay so i can play?
If a new update comes out, you will need to repeat the same process above, remember to delete the previous version of the game fully from JoiPlay and KEEP your saves.
How the new Patch System works?
Now you can download a waaaay smaller update version that contains only the news images and new events code. If you have the previous version already, you just need to unpack/extract content into your current Lessons in Love folder and hit «Yes» to replacing all files with the same name.

Characters/Sensei
Sensei («Sensei») is part of the Main Cast of Lessons In Love. He is the protagonist of Lessons in Love.

Background
Before the game begins, the Sensei was extremely responsible, and a model teacher to his small class of ten. While still apparently disliked by Maya and Yumi, these were for reasons less dubious than those in the main game. At some point during his teenage years, he was romantically involved with Niki Nakayama, and apparently gained the affections of her little sister, Noriko. After some unstated event, he disappeared almost entirely, leaving the sisters to wonder about his whereabouts.
After an unfortunate incident, Sensei took in Ami and raised her as if she were his own daughter. Despite the growing feelings of love from her, and Ami’s friend Ayane, he is suggested to have never humored these feelings.
Characteristics
Sensei, despite being the teacher of over ten students, has very little interest in actually teaching them anything, preferring to spend class periods napping and talking to the girls whenever it’s needed. When he’s outside of class, he can often be found wondering aimlessly around Kumon-Mi, usually as an attempt to find one of his students. Most of the students don’t seem to find this behavior off-putting, but some, particularly Yumi and Maya, note is as being ‘creepy’.
His main motivation could be considered getting laid, a goal he will go to great lengths to achieve. The severity of his lust is somewhat dependent on the player’s actions, but he can be generally characterized as someone whose lust guides him.
In addition to this, he is often remembered by his students as being particularly pessimistic, harboring many deep nihilistic views about the world. Perhaps as a result, few things seem to phase him, and many take note of his lack of emotional response to things happening around him. This isn’t to say he’s completely devoid of emotion, though, as he is shown to be capable of feeling frustrated, angry, and, on rare occasions, happy.
Relationships
Being Sensei’s niece, Ami and him have a much more friendly and familial relationship than the other girls. They often playfully poke fun at each other, and Ami shows a great deal of comfort being around Sensei, not being wary of his unusual habit of hanging out with the girls in their dorm rooms.
While the lengths of Sensei’s love for Ami is dependent on the player’s choice, Ami is shown to love him to an excessive degree, even wishing to be romantically involved with him despite the blood-relation. She grows extremely jealous when other women get close with him, and is locked in a years-long ‘rivalry’ with Ayane over his affections.
Most seem to disregard her clinginess as childishness, or as a joke, but those close to her seem to recognize the actual depths of her affection.
Maya immediately strikes as intriguing to Sensei, due to the suggestion that she has some clue as to what the ‘true nature’ of Kumon-Mi is. Despite Maya’s animosity towards him, he enjoys aggravating her, and repeatedly visiting her during her shrine maiden duties.
The two of them are the only individuals capable of retaining memories through ‘resets’, and, as such, they share a more surreal bond than the other girls.
Schoolstaff
As stated by Wakana, Sensei has garnered a reputation among the school faculty for being a failure of a teacher. His unhealthy obsession towards teenage girls, and his general apathy towards actually doing his job are all well-known facts among the other teachers, although the lengths of their knowledge have yet to be confirmed.

Synopsis
Rin wakes Sensei from a nap. She is planning to confess her feelings to Chika, but has already decided that she will be rejected, and that Chika is interested in someone else. Rin says that people can’t help who they fall in love with, and that maybe this is «what needs to happen» for Rin to move on. Sensei brings up Molly’s concerns about Rin hurting herself, but Rin promises that she hasn’t been doing that since last time, and that Molly just saw some old scars. However, she still predicts that she will «shut down» for a bit after her talk with Chika, and asks if she can sleep in Sensei’s room overnight. She also asks Sensei if anything has happened between him and Chika — if he has gone further than just a kiss, Rin is hurt. After a while, she leaves to meet Chika.

Synopsis
Sensei is going over the class roster, noting that once again, Rin seems to be absent, as the other girls are doing their own thing. Even despite Rin’s reassurances she would be okay, he now hasn’t seen her in several successive days, so he goes to talk to Futaba, who he thinks is the most likely to know about Rin’s whereabouts.
Futaba is surprised to see Sensei at her desk, and debates telling him when he inquires as to Rin’s whereabouts, before eventually deciding to tell Sensei a euphemism, which still leaves him concerned. He asks Futaba how long she and Rin have known each other, and Futaba tells him more about her, and that until recently, Rin has had a habit that Futaba has had trouble digesting or helping Rin to deal with.
Futaba says Rin usually recovers from this less-than-stellar state relatively quickly, but that this ‘episode’ has been particularly long. She reflects on what she knows, wishing she could stay with Rin and not leave her by herself, and Sensei expresses significant concern for Rin, which Futaba agrees with. She also tells Sensei that Rin has really warmed up to him lately, learning things about Rin’s attitude toward him through their own conversations.
Sensei tries to ask if there’s anything he can do to help Rin in her current state, and Futaba suggests writing a letter, which Sensei quickly gets to work on. A few minutes later, he presents the letter to Futaba, telling her to give it to Rin as soon as she’s able and to not read it herself, which Futaba agrees to. Afterward, Sensei heads back to his desk and the remainder of the afternoon passes.

On the 1st of April 2021, Selebus announced Lessons in Dove on the official Discord as a new up and coming game. It is, however, merely a light-mooded joke parodying his own game, Lessons in Love, for Aprils Fools.

There has been some discussion floating around about how content of this new game might not be for everyone, but I understand that I’ve created a special community of people with special interests. And, as such, I need to do everything in my power to appeal to those people. The following screenshots will be spoilered for anyone who does not want to experience them.
But for all fans of Lessons in Love, I highly implore you to click at your own risk. This game means a lot to me and I hope it will to all of you as well.

Lessons in Dove
Lessons in Dove is a multiplayer action RPG that puts players behind the reigns Sensei once again. But this time around, his penis has been nerfed by 50% due to the outrage of imbalance from the community. Sensei has been tasked with Forming an avian extermination squad to take down a new threat to Kumon-mi. The game will feature many of the characters you know and love and will be fully voice acted by professional Japanese actors.
Feature and More!
It will also feature COMPLETELY reworked scenes from Lessons in Love, rewritten from the ground up by none other than myself. Any resemblances they have to the original content of LiL are purely coincidental and I can promise you that no original assets or lines have been reused.
Now, I know what many of you are here for and yes, the new game will feature sexual content as well. This content, just like that of the story, will be fully voice acted.

Final Consideration
The game is still quite a ways off, but I want to urge everyone to keep an eye out for it as it will be just as long as Lessons in Love and will likely revolutionize the gaming industry.

Synopsis
In a time when things were happier, Maya is sitting in her usual spot, and is relaxed in Sensei’s company. He tells her that he might be [redacted], which Maya agrees is serious. The world goes strange. Maya wants to talk about how baby finches are sometimes eaten by their parents if they aren’t developing well enough. She says that she and Sensei would be the same if they ever had kids. She starts to say that baby finches might be able to get their revenge sometimes, but isn’t sure it would work. Ami seems to be in the background. Maya says that male finches might kill baby finches «just so it can get them out of the nest» and mate again. Sensei has some numerical thoughts about memory versus dreams, which Maya finds distracting. Sensei mentions being watched, and Maya talks about the god with roots. They cycle back around and repeat themselves. Ami looks less happy now. Sensei says that he was in the middle of something, and Maya asks what could be more important than spending time with his girlfriend. Sensei says that she isn’t his girlfriend, and never was. He leaves, and is once again looking at the cool rectangle machine.

She tells him that she works a fashion boutique there, and the two talk a bit about work, responsibilities, and relationships. Chika mentions that Sensei is «super attractive» for his age, although denies that she is intentionally trying to flirt. The conversation ends when Chika’s break finishes, but she tells him to come see her again sometime.

Rin Rokuhara («Rin») is part of the Main Cast of Lessons In Love. She is one of the 10 original main cast girls.

Background
Rin lives in the dorms with Futaba and works in Koi Cafe on weekends, where she often spends her free time as well. In the beginning, Sensei is often the victim of her attempts at new recipes during his visits, which are usually undrinkable.
Characteristics
Rin is friendly towards almost all the girls and usually almost nothing can put her off. However, as she suffers from bipolar disorder, if she experiences some strong emotional tension, she falls into a deep depression. During this, she doesn’t take care of herself, denies herself sleep, and is also prone to self-harm. But once she gets over this part, she returns to his normal behaviour and pretends that nothing happened. She has a great fondness for music.

Sensei
Unlike some girls, Rin has no romantic feelings for Sensei, but considers him a good friend («homie»). She often tells him about her pent-up feelings towards Chika and Otoha. At the same time, she is partly jealous of Sensei because of his relationship with Chika, as he stole her chance to have a deeper relationship with her.
Futaba
Futaba is her best friend. She is often the only one besides Sensei who can get Rin out of her depressive states. Rin defends Futaba from being mocked by Yumi and is greatly concerned when Futaba decides to stop eating because of her weight.
Chika
Rin has a very strong crush on Chika. However, despite her lively and energetic personality, Rin always finds herself shy and embarrassed around Chika, and seems to recognize that they both have somewhat different tastes and traits. When Chika rejects her because of her feelings for Sensei, she breaks down. She recovers only after Chika explains her reasons and promises her that it won’t affect their friendship.
Otoha
Otoha is Rin’s second love. The two share a fondness for music, and according to Otoha, they have been spending long hours talking even before she joined Sensei’s class. Like before, Rin is completely obsessed with Otoha and often acts nervous around her, even though Otoha tries to persuade her to chill down. Rin eventually confesses to Otoha during the winter beach trip, and unlike in the case with Chika, the two of them start a relationship, which Rin is incredibly enthusiastic about from the first moment, sharing the news immediatelly with the entire class.
Rin happily chats with Sana at Sensei’s suggestion, becoming only Sana’s second friend.
Molly
Rin and Molly bond over RPGs. Molly has an enormous crush on Rin and is very concerned for her. Rin, however, seems completely unaware of Molly’s feelings. At the Christmas Party, during a game of Spin the Bottle, Molly manages to steal Rin’s first kiss, Rin is unhappy about this, and won’t talk to Molly for over a week. When Molly tries to persuade her again during the winter beach trip, she angrily refuses her.

Ami Arakawa («Ami») is part of the Main Cast of Lessons In Love. She is one of the 10 original main cast girls and the niece of Sensei.

Background
When the game begins, Ami is the first character Sensei meets. She’s his niece, whom he takes care of after her parents’ deaths, though it’s mostly the other way around. Ami is thus responsible for cleaning and cooking at home. Over time, she develops feelings for Sensei and almost fanatically refuses to share him with anyone, including her friend Ayane. At the beginning, she can be found in her room during the weekend, later she works at the Maid Cafe along with Uta.
Characteristics
She is a loving niece and cares deeply for Sensei. However, once she develops romantic feelings for him, she becomes his almost fanatical protector at certain points. This often goes to the point of openly expressing jealousy towards anyone Sensei associates with, especially Makoto. Although she competes with Ayane for Sensei, it never ruins their relationship for long. Because she’s petite, she hates insinuations about small breasts.

She falls deeply in love with Sensei rather quickly, cares for him and protects him from anyone she believes would want to hurt him or steal him from her.
Ayane
Ami sees Ayane as the main competitor for Sensei’s attention and often competes with her to see who can please him the most. Despite this rivalry, they are still best friends.
Ami is the only one in the class that Maya can get along with easily, though Maya doesn’t share her secrets with her either.
Makoto
As Makoto has a prestigious position alongside Sensei as the student council president, Ami is very jealous of her, taking every possible chance to tease her by making mean comments about her appearance.
Noriko
From the moment Noriko first appears, Ami is openly jealous of her, especially since she immediately confesses her longtime love for Sensei. From then on, she sees her as her main rival.

In addition to the story of Nozomu, there is another, less-known origin story. It involves a god who is «science incarnate», and who sat in a dark room putting down roots which turned into wires. Gradually, people left him to rot, although he could not feel and so did not mind. Then, he could only influence those who deliberately gave themselves to him. The roots/wires didn’t transmit enough to sustain a god, but the god remained calm, and followed his programming to «only correct errors when errors appear». If Nozomu and a tree-like computer can become a god, why not become a god yourself? Someone said that there is a third god, who is overcome with concern.
Sensei is in his room. Ami is there, but something is wrong, and she can feel «so many things» — she repeatedly asks Sensei to help her. (The god with the wires, in addition to deleting «viruses like depression or bipolarity», can sometimes make visual alterations, which Nozomu never learned.) Ami says that she’s going to die, and says her goodbyes «for now». She vanishes. Sensei’s door won’t open, so he looks around his room. There are several things of potential interest, but he eventually focuses on the cool rectangle machine. He uses information he has been given before to make a connection (or possibly two).

Background
Sensei meets Ayane very soon after the end of the first day of school. He soon starts visiting her in the dorms room and also in the dojo, although he knows nothing about karate himself. During the school year, Ayane appears at his home or office several times on different occasions to spend time alone with him or to challenge Ami to another one of her duels for his affection. Because of her obsession, Ayane is the first person the «new» Sensei becomes sexually involved with. She also makes no secret of her absolute love, which creates awkward situations at times.
Characteristics
Ayane comes from an extremely wealthy family, but unlike Touka, she has no need to show off. However, her obsession with Sensei often causes embarassing situations, as like Ami, she is quite jealous. On the other hand, she supports her friends in any situation and respects them regardless of occasional disagreements.

Sensei
Ayane is obsessed with Sensei, going so far as to secretly take pictures of him and frame them on her wall, and calling him her «future husband». Her displays of love tend to be unhealthy, and she makes no effort to hide her feelings for Sensei in front of the other students, always creating embarrassing situations and coming out on top of them due to her flirting nature. However, Ayane also shows that she cares deeply about Sensei, going so far as to be afraid of losing him, and thus demonstrating that maybe Sensei is a way for her to supply her emotional needs. As such, Ayane will always seek to gain Sensei’s attention and acceptance, either affectively or romantically.
Ami and Ayane are longtime friends, and although they both compete for Sensei’s attention, they never manage to stay mad at each other for long, even though they are occasionally jealous of each other. Ayane, however, is supportive of Ami’s relationship with Sensei, on the condition that she does not try to thwart their planned marriage.
Although Ayane and Maya’s relationship is not quite friendship, they manage to get along. The link in their relationship is Ami, whom they have both known for many years. Compared to Maya’s relationships with other girls, she and Ayane get along quite solidly.
Sana is Ayana’s roommate in the dorm room. Although they have very different likes and personalities, they get along very well. Ayane supports Sana when she finds herself in a difficult situation, and Sana tries to reciprocate it as much as possible.

Family
It seems that Ayane has a troubled relation with her father, even implying in Slumber Party that he is her «arch nemesis». The Amamiya family got their fortune after Ayane’s father invented an unpoppable version of bubble wrap. Ayane also tells that The Amamiya’s mansion is the second biggest house in all of Kumon-Mi.
Geoffrey
Butler at the Amamiya’s mansion. Ayane says in Slumber Party that Geoffrey is «the only one in the house who pays attention» to her, and mentions walking to the scullery sometimes to chat with him.

Synopsis
Sensei decides to head to the bar and hang out with Sana again, only this time as he steps up to the bar, he finds someone who he quickly deduces is Sana’s mother working there instead. The woman bubbly greets him and invites him to sit down, and quickly grabs Sensei his requested beer.
After he has it, the woman begins flirting shamelessly with him, which he easily returns, much to her delight. The two talk about the state of the bar for a moment, before the topic diverts to Sana, who Sensei tells her he’s doing his best as the teacher to help overcome her social anxiety.
The woman, surprised, introduces herself as Sara, and she quickly asks about Sensei’s age, and is surprised to find out they’re supposedly close in that regard. Sara quickly passes Sensei another flirtatious remark, which he returns with one of his own, and she breaths a sigh of relief, before Sana comes over to the counter, surprised to learn Sensei is at the bar tonight.
Sensei is quick to notice through their banter that Sana isn’t very good at handling her mother’s bubbly and outgoing personality, and Sara quickly tries to pry a story out of Sensei, only for him to politely rebuke the request. Sara quickly moves in on this and decides to secretly slip Sensei her phone number, much to Sana’s openly-protested chagrin.
During the resulting brief argument, Sana lets something slip that instantly flags to Sara that she has a crush on Sensei, something which Sara mentions offhand a moment later. Sara decides that she’ll also trust Sensei with her well-being, and after a few more drinks and a bunch of conversation, Sensei decides to call it a night and head home to get some rest.

Synopsis
Sensei knocks on Dorm Room #5 so he can visit the maid cafe together with Ami so she can apply for a position as a maid there. Maya answers trough the door and, after a while, both of them leave their room. Maya needs something to eat since she’s in a foul mood and Sensei, since he wanted to go there in the first place, decides to accompany both of them to the cafe. Maya is also fine with Ami getting her something from the cafe but wants something that wasn’t flavor beamed. Sensei doesn’t mind getting hers, infuriating Ami since he knows what that means and even thinks about having another girl do it for him if she refuses to do that if she gets the job.
Once they arrive at the maid cafe Ami gets second thoughts about applying there while Maya thinks about ordering some chicken after Sensei teased Ami for chickening out. Uta comes to greet them and immediately thanks Sensei for his last order, causing him to flirt with her and annoying both Maya and Ami in the process. Uta is surprised to hear that he is related to Ami and thought that he came with Maya again. Before she can say it, Sensei quietly begs her to keep that part a secret. Uta teases him for his intentions to date smaller girls but promises to be quiet. Before Ami’s jealousy gets the better of her, Sensei states that she wants to apply as a maid. Uta takes her aside for a quick job interview. Once they are gone, Maya wants to re-assure if Sensei is really okay with Ami getting a job since that never happened before. Sensei is fine with it since it’s her decision and partly because he can see her wear the uniform, prompting Maya to call him disgusting.
During her interview with Uta Ami states that she wants the job to have some spending money and to spend more time with Sensei. Uta mentions that he visited the cafe only once so applying here wouldn’t help with that. She still would like her as a colleague since she fits in well and her twintails would be a good asset for a maid. Ami is surprised to hear that Sensei hasn’t visited the cafe often due to how into it he seems to be, but Uta points out that a lot of people are like that. The conversation digresses with Uta telling about her life in Nara but gets back on track by promising to get her hired and even offers her one of her dresses to get a feel for the job. Ami is thankful for her efforts but asks if she has a costume for growing girls. Uta understands and tries to get one for her.
Characters/Molly MacCormack
Molly MacCormack («Molly») is part of the Main Cast of Lessons In Love. She is part of the second batch added along with Tsuneyo Tojo and was introduced in Version 0.7.0.

Background
Molly comes from Ireland and lost her mother prior to joining up Sensei’s classroom. She is a good friend with Rin, who she works at Koi Café with, and it’s actually shown that she has a strong crush on her. She also feels overlooked by Sensei, who simply finds tiring to spend time around her because of her manners. During the beach trip, it’s shown she gets burned very easily (which isn’t surprising as it’s a common trait of people with ginger hair).
Characteristics
Molly always behaves and speaks as if she’s a character in a D&D campaign, which gives Sensei and some girls troubles to understand her sometimes. She is also really passionate about it and usually speaks very loud when the conversation is at a topic of her interest.
Relationships
SENSEI
Molly is very formal towards Sensei, always addressing him as «Sir». Despite that, they are shown to have a friendly relationship, although Sensei often gets lost in her talks filled with many words and terms from games she plays.
TSUNEYO
Tsuneyo is Molly’s roommate. They are shown to have a friendly relationship and Molly often introduces Tsuneyo to unknown things and explains meaning of words to her. She even persuades her to have a cosplay with her once.
Eventually, during the winter trip to the beach, Molly tries to persuade Rin into a relationship when she’s on her way to confess to Otoha. Of course, Rin rejects her again and Molly cracks down and run away, being comforted by Ayane, Noriko and Osaku. She believes she ruined whatever relationship they had prior to this by her actions.
OTOHA
From the moment Molly learns about Rin’s crush on Otoha, she is openly jealous of her and tries to get Rin on her side instead. During the winter trip at the beach, she even lashes out at Otoha, refusing to allow her playing D&D with her usual squad. This angers Rin, who demands Molly to apologize, but Otoha lets it go easily, as she’s not either offended or scared by Molly’s behavior towards her.

Synopsis
Sensei visits Maya, hoping that he doesn’t have to carry a box this time. Maya explains that she is exhausted, making him wonder if she is still the original Maya, since the possibility of her changing came up recently. She confirms that she is still the original and that she’s just tired. He asks what he could do to help her getting her energy back. Maya, since being left alone doesn’t seem to be an option, allows him to accompany her to get something to eat. He assumes that she guides him to the Takoyaki stall again, but she has something else in mind. She recommends him to hide his wallet, though, since the place she wants to visit is dangerous for people like him.
The place turns out to be a maid cafe. Sensei wonders why she brought him here, but she makes it clear that he just followed her here and that he is going to pay her bill as an admission fee. Not surprised by that he accepts her condition. He wants to know if she visits the cafe on a regular basis, which she confirms stating that the portions served are both sizable and cheap. She also admits liking maids, but when Sensei requests to hear that out of character line again, she refuses.
A maid introducing herself as Uta annoys Maya by calling her princess, arrives at their table and, as soon as she notices him, starts flirting with Sensei. He immediately proposes to her which she shuts down in a heartbeat as marrying customers is prohibited. After having to witness this Maya orders one serving of omurice, some black tea and to not be called a princess for the night, threatening to never come again if Uta doesn’t do the latter. Uta, while displeased with that, accepts her order and tries to persuade Sensei to buy some desserts. Sensei, as a result of her flirting, orders every single dessert, much to her delight and Maya’s expectations.
Once Uta leaves, Maya states that she expected him to fall for her but not to this extreme and with this level of gullibility. Sensei clarifies that he is aware that he is being exploited but is willing to pay any amount of money to see a smile like Uta’s. When Maya points out that Ami wouldn’t like to hear that, he begs Maya to never let her know, which she has no intention to do since this means admitting that they spent time together. Sensei asks Maya if she would consider working as a Maid herself. She vehemently rejects this since wearing two complicated dresses and having to act like that would be irritating. As the conversation comes to an end Uta serves Maya her meal, informs Sensei that his order takes more time and uses a special chant to make Maya’s meal more enjoyable, which doesn’t work on her. Sensei wants to know why she puts up with this when she seems to be annoyed by it and can cook something instead. She admits that she can’t cook but, when offered by him, she wouldn’t mind eating Ami’s cooked meals as long as both Sensei and her are eating in separate rooms.

«Lessons in Love» is the tenth episode of Sym-Bionic Titan. It debuted on november 19, 2010.

When Kimmy the cheerleader comes over to study, she becomes romantically infatuated with Octus’ human student disguise. Meanwhile, Lance and Ilana encounter a manta-like Mutraddi creature that absorbs electrical energy, causing their armor activators/communicators to shut down.
Synopsis [ ]
Kimmy, the cheer squad captain, is in jeopardy of getting kicked off the team unless she gets a passing grade on a math exam. But the only way she can pass is to get tutored by Newton. At first, the two meet in a very awkward manner. Kimmy asks Newton if he can just do the work for her and she can turn it in as her own. He refuses, despite her anger and mention of his ruining of her Cheerleading uniform by accidentally spilling coffee on her, and finally agrees to help her redo it.
When she arrives at the House the Galalunians are living in, Ilana is briefly stunned to see the Cheerleader who tormented and belittled her so vehemently on her doorstep, and she and Lance are confused as to why she is there. Exhasperatedly, Kimmy explains that Newton is helping her with her test, which causes Lance and Ilana to storm out of the house, leaving Newton to deal with Kimmy alone, much to the Robot’s terror.
As Newton settles down to try and help Kimmy, Lance and Ilana decide to drive downtown to a place called the Promenade, an area of shops, clubs and restaurants that other kids at school have talked about. Once Ilana manages to drag Lance away from the subject of the Mutraddi, they actually start ot have fun.
Back at the house, Kimmy at first repeats her expectation that Newton will just do the work for her, to which he again refuses. After a few half-hearted attempts to do it herself, Kimmy tries a variety of tricks and schemes to force Newton to do the work for her, even going so far as to perform a sensual dance routine (the infamous «Booty Quake») to no avail.
Meanwhile, Lance and Ilana’s fun at a dance club is interrupted by another Mutraddi, one who has the ability to disable any electronic devices in a certain range. Including the pair’s Armor! Helpless as the other humans, the pair flee with the crowds and manage to escape the attack in Lance’s car.
Back at the house, Kimy has given up hope: she pours her heart out to Newton, revealing that she believes she has to be a ‘ditzy airhead’ because of her beauty, and that her popularity, so important to her sense of self-worth, is based on her looks, not on her brains. As she starts to cry, Newton takes sympathy on her, and tells her that she can be whatever she wants to be: her brain is as large as any other human’s, and she can have both smarts AND good looks. Kimmy seems to regain confidence, telling him no one has talked to her like that before. Now more determined, Kimmy manages to redo the test on her own, and actually succeed.
Kimmy suddenly finds herself very attracted to Newton, much to the latter’s confusion and distress. But just as she moves in to kiss him, Lance and Ilana burst in. and are very confused as to just what was happening. The pair pull Newton into the kitchen and explain what is happening. As Newton adapts their armor to not be affected by the monster, the pair tease him about what he and kimmy were doing. Newton vehemently denies that Kimmy is his girlfriend, but looks uncertain.
Managing to convince Kimmy to leave, she agrees on one condition: that Newton kiss her. Newton’s attempt at a quick peck is rebuffed, and Kimmy proceeds to deliver a passionate kiss, one so stunning that Newton apparently short-circuits, his holoprojector going offline for a moment, revealing his robot self.
As Kimmy walks home, lost in her Ipod and the bliss of the evening, the Titan destroys the monster.
The next day at school, kimmy excitedly tells Newton that she passed and is back on the cheer squad. Thanking him with a hug, Lance and Ilana can only watch in disbelief as the pair walk to class holding hands.

Synopsis
There is a room with a machine and two large crosses. Although God matters most, he’s dead now, which a tragedy — who else will we pray to, even though we lie to him? A pair of angels say that we lie to make things easier and that rules are bad. One says to «throw yourself into the wishing well». The angels’ voice reminds Sensei of a «long lost friend» whose name begins with the letter T. 61 6d 20 69 20 6f 6b 61 79 is in the machine, and the angels call her «a normal teenage girl». The angels say that Sensei is there for forgiveness because he has sinned, and call for him to be fed to 望む. They begin making horrible heavenly noises. 61 tells Sensei not to worry about her, because «あなたなしで» she goes through much worse. The angels say that Sensei desires her — 61 asks if that is true. Sensei finds that he is tied to a chair again.
Sensei remembers that it’s a game and talks to 61 back in the room with clocks. He agrees that they’ve been through «everything» together, and that there might not be anything more to experience. When he says that he’s not «the programmer», 61 says that he’s talking about God. 61 says that Sensei is beginning to sound like «her», by whom she means «the other me». Sensei is envious of her for having another version of herself with a hexadecimal name, and she «does magic». She tells 73 65 6b 61 69 that magic comes from praying, which can be to whoever you want.
Sensei is then back in the chair, and the angels summon «father» before Sensei can escape. Hope appears, and says that he is everyone’s father, but does not answer a question about whether he is god. 61 tells Hope that Sensei is «the one I told you about», being from the same place as her. Hope asks if he’d like to say goodbye to the girl before he goes home leaves, and takes his angels «back to the bottom of everything». Sensei then decides whether or not to approach the machine.

The conversation starts bouncing around several topics, not staying on any for very long, before Sensei asks Ayane if she’s okay with the direction the night is heading. She replies she’s fine with it, and after a particularly off-putting tangent about Ayane’s feelings toward Sensei, she starts trying to come up with names for their future children. After a bit more banter and Sensei stopping Ayane from saying something he doesn’t think she’s ready to commit to yet, the two split up, and Sensei leaves to go about his evening. Everything is Connected is a Secret Event. It was the fifth Secret «Happy» Event introduced. ContentsSynopsisWhile the world is broken, Sensei visits the soccer field, where «everything is normal». There are a lot of discarded wigs, which turn out to be heads. Sensei is speaking backwards. After selecting Miku’s head «for the sake of this experiment», he finds that it is actually a watermelon. Maya shows up, and tells him that he has made a strange decision today — this «isn’t how it normally goes». Sensei is starting to disconnect, and nothing she says will register in his memory. She leads him to the storage shed, which will help him «get back on track». Sensei wonders why he can’t feel anything, and why he seems so detached. Eventually, he finds himself talking to a girl named Saki, who has «one less dimension» than normal. Then, he wakes up again. The world is still broken. Not His Telephone tells him that the only way to escape death is to accumulate as many affection points with girls as possible, since our Hope, whom Sensei has never seen before, observes that strange things happen to both of them in this horrible place. When Sensei asks «hyl fvb tl», Hope says of course not — rather, Hope is «that which breaths», and Sensei is the ground beneath. Hope wonders which NVK Sensei will JOVVZL, and whether Sensei might have been looking for someone with more wires. Then, Sensei is at the grave he visited, thinking about doing things to Ami and wondering if his lingering memories of her parents are real or planted. He thinks about how being in a place where only good things happen means that you don’t have to take responsibility for anything you regret. There is only one god, and three gods, and also no gods. The three gods who exist will at least pretend to love us, so we should keep them alive by watering them and feeding them the bodies of our loved ones. But who are they? He is envious of clocks, and curses at the sky when it tells him that he will eventually be happy. After he passes out and dies, Sensei changes his mind and goes to Tojo Ramen after all. After a quick bit of harmless banter, she hastily comes up with a deadpan excuse from the other side of the door to keep him from coming in, but when the excuse dovetails off of his observation from the last visit, Sensei decides to push the joke a little too far, and he comes in anyway, only to discover the reason Rin wasn’t ready to let him in is because she’s topless. Rin becomes very angry at this development, and Sensei tries to point out how she somewhat started the chain that led to this happening, but Rin angrily yells at Sensei, and he eventually leaves, waiting outside the door. He pretends like he’s going to open the door again, only for Rin to threaten him by saying she’ll find acid to throw at him. Rin lets him back in, and he apologizes in the most sincere way he can, before Rin slowly decides to let go of her anger, the event now in the past, and she halfheartedly jokes that everyone in the class has now officially seen her boobs. When she says she should probably start locking her door now, Sensei validly points out that she should have been doing so beforehand. After a bit of banter about Rin’s potential arousal at stripping in front of the other girls and Rin jokingly congratulating Sensei for the new fantasies, Sensei asks where Futaba is, and Rin exclaims his interest in Futaba in faux-shock, before telling him Futaba happens to be hanging out with a friend from middle school who just so happens to be lesbian, and Sensei jokes knowing it’s not a guy will help him sleep easier at night. They banter for a bit longer before Rin abruptly asks Sensei to leave, citing a prior engagement that she had already been getting ready for when Sensei had shown up. Lessons in Love, sometimes abbreviated in online communities as LiL, is an adult visual novel developed and published by DJNOSTYLE, AKA Selebus, an American independent writer and voice actor. The game was initially released on March 17, 2020, and development is still ongoing, with updates containing new story content released bimonthly. It is categorized as a denpa visual novel, a genre known for confusing and shocking the reader through paranoid fantasies and distorted world views, but also contains more conventional drama and comedy. The story follows a protagonist of mysterious origin who, after seemingly committed suicide, awakens in the body of a teacher living in Kumon-mi, a fictional city located in modern-day Japan. Known only as Sensei, he learns that conscription for a «space-war» has eliminated the bulk of the city’s male presence, leaving him, exempt from military service by his pedagogical obligations, as one of the only men around. Sensei, who, over time, reveals himself to be a cynical, selfish, and apathetic man, goes on to develop relationships with his students, learning of their individual traumas and struggles. At the same time, he works to retrace his steps and discover the true nature of the strange world he’s been thrust into; religion becomes a particularly prominent theme as this mystery is explored. Gameplay consists of choosing locations to visit throughout each day, triggering events with various girls and increasing their «affection levels,» unlocking further events. Choices within events often hold huge consequences, locking off certain events and heavily altering others; these choices manifest themselves both as dialogue options, and as the very order in which events are played. When he jokes about Makoto’s nearly incessant desire to continue her studies, he is surprised to find Makoto has actually forbidden herself from studying for the duration of the afternoon. After Makoto gleefully acknowledges Sensei’s desire to spend time with her in the park, the two sit down nearby a fountain, and Makoto brings up how weird it must look for a teacher and student to be hanging out in such a manner. Sensei thinks nothing of it, and Makoto makes a comment about how the city is constantly changing, never staying the same for long, such as how the Koi Cafe is actually a recent development. After Makoto mentions how she keeps a coffee pot in her dorm room, Sensei jokes how terrifying it must be for Miku to have caffeine in her system. Makoto acknowledges that Miku can be difficult to keep up with at times, and when she makes a comment about her grades, Sensei mentions he could always have Miku over for private tutoring, which Makoto questions the legality of. After a short conversation on Makoto’s true intentions of having a study session at Sensei’s apartment, the two part ways, and Sensei leaves to go about his evening. Maya Makinami («Maya») is part of the Main Cast of Lessons In Love. She is one of the 10 original main cast girls. ContentsBackgroundSensei meets Maya on his first day out of school (which, as it turns out later, is a recurring event).During the school year, Sensei visits her at the shrine and also at the dorms, though Maya tries to avoid conversations with him. Over time, Sensei learns that once in a while, all the inhabitants of Kumon-mi except her disappear and Maya is responsible for restarting the world into an infinite loop of repeatable events. However, after latest restart, when the world goes into winter, events begin to occur that Maya cannot predict or control, which, along with Sensei’s worsening hallucinations, begins to frighten her. CharacteristicsShe is a very mysterious girl who prefers to spend time alone. She usually only contributes a few words to a conversation, especially when forced to spend time with Sensei, and her speech is mostly devoid of any emotion. She has no friends in class besides Ami and Ayane, and some of the girls consider her weird. However, she can be friendly even towards Sensei at some points. RelationshipsSenseiMaya and Ami have been best friends for years and often spend time together in the dorm room and at Sensei’s house. AyaneMaya doesn’t have as good relationship with Ayane as she does with Ami, but it can still be considered as friendly compared to the other classmates. NorikoMaya hates Noriko for a reason unknown to Sensei. When Noriko first appears in Sensei’s class, Maya outbursts and insults her. However, due to her unfortunate family background, she has a huge responsibility on her shoulders for both Chinami and Yumi, making her much more mature and responsible than other girls her age. She likes K-pop and is a big fan of Sensei’s ex-girlfriend Niki Nakayama. RelationshipsSenseiChika quickly falls in love with Sensei and flirts with him at every opportunity. However, she trusts him enough to introduce him to her sister and tries to mend the relationship between Sensei and Yumi. ChinamiChinami has an autoimmune disorder, which poses a great challenge for Chika in caring for her. She tries to find ways to keep Chinami out of the house for days, so Sensei meets her at a shopping mall wearing a dog mask. At certain points, however, Chinami’s remarks about her feelings for Sensei can be quite exhausting for her, as can Chinami’s constant talking about herself in the third person. Chika protects Yumi as her sister so that she doesn’t get into trouble, which Yumi has all the potential to do because of her family background. Although they get on each other’s nerves from time to time, Chika is the only one Yumi trusts and spends time with. Chika never reciprocates Rin’s platonic love, but when Rin has a mental breakdown after confessing her feelings, Chika helps her get back on her feet and overcome her disappointment. Background
Born to a pair of unnamed parents, Futaba was granted a great level of independence and freedom from them for a good portion of her life. Before the game starts, she had already been living apart from them, and currently receives funds from them as they work overseas. At some point during these earlier years, she had met Nodoka Nagasawa, and Rin Rokuhara, developing a sister-like relationship with the latter.
She has long respected Sensei, believing him to be a cool and composed individual. This respect eventually involved into infatuation so strong that she had trouble speaking directly to him.
Along with Rin, Futaba is a member of the Manga Club along with Molly MacCormack, and Ami Arakawa.
Characteristics
As noted within Sensei’s notes, Futaba is shy and insecure person. Due to her figure, she holds a great deal of discomfort and hatred towards her body. Besides that, she often remarks that she is unworthy of the attention of Sensei, and the love of her friends. She often downplays her achievements, and has a hard time believing any compliment given to her.
Her shyness, while not as severe as someone like Sana, often prevents her from speaking up or standing up for herself. As a result, Yumi is able to bully her relentlessly, and is usually only stopped by the intervention of other class members. Her natural introversion lead her to developing an interest in literature, and she has developed a deep love of reading, to the point of being excited after the opening of a new bookstore.
She is, however, not incapable of overcoming these obstacles on her own. When pushed, or alone with the Sensei, she has displayed bouts of confidence, and aggression.
Relationships
Sensei
Best friends and roommates at the dorm’s room number 4. Both consider themselves sisters, and Futaba mentions that Rin has taken care of her several times in the past, expressing gratitude.
Yumi bullies Futaba mercilessly for her weight, especially early in the game.
Nodoka
The two most bookish characters, Futaba and Nodoka have been friends for a long time. In Why Now?, Nodoka admits, «I kind of love» Futaba; Futaba cares for Nodoka, but not ‘that way.’
There are not many interactions between the two, but Miku is very envious of Futaba due to the size of her breasts, as shown in David & Goliath.

Synopsis
Unusually sluggish owing to difficulty sleeping the previous night, Sensei drags himself into the Koi Cafe for some desperately needed caffeine, prepared to meet Rin at the counter, but encountering someone closer to his own age instead. When the two exchange greetings and Sensei catches her automatic response to his question, he is surprised to hear she already knows of his presence in the store, though he finds the way she refers to him as a male amusing.
After Rin calls out in response to Sensei trying to appease the woman’s apparent ego, she introduces herself as Haruka, and Sensei introduces himself in return, asking for a black coffee. He is made to repeat himself on his order when Haruka seems to be stuck on his name of choice.

Sensei visits Rin in the Koi Cafe for another «game of coffee-roulette». Rin mentions that she has a doctor’s appointment, but says that it’s just a routine check-up. Sensei is surprised to get a near-normal cafe mocha rather than one of her usual creations, and Rin says that she’s just «not feeling all that creative». Sensei asks if something’s wrong, and mentions that Chika was also concerned. After some hesitation, Rin asks Sensei if he ever «has any thoughts that you wish you didn’t». Sensei says that he sometimes does, and Rin is glad she isn’t the only one. She doesn’t want to keep talking about it, and changes the subject to Chika. Rin admits that she hasn’t stopped thinking about Chika for «like, two years», but insists that Sensei not tell anyone. He also tells Sensei not to steal Chika, although she doesn’t actually have any plan for approaching Chika herself yet. Rin leaves for her doctor’s appointment, still insisting that she’s fine.

Haruka is known among her employees and friend as being a faithful, and friendly woman. Rin goes as far as describing her as sort of a mother figure. She is shown to be real close to her employees, going as far as to lightly banter with them during quieter hours.
Beneath this loving surface, Haruka is shown to be a deeply lonely, and repressed person. Despite her longing and devotion to her husband for years before the game starts, she is easily swayed by her emotions into, potentially, having an affair with Sensei. In addition, she shares the Sensei’s interest in teenage girls, confiding in him her casual attraction to Rin and Molly.

Background
Noriko transfers to Kumon-mi High shortly after her old school is swallowed by a sinkhole. She is reunited with Sensei while chasing Wakana into his classroom during an argument. She is Niki’s younger sister.
Characteristics
Noriko has known Sensei since her childhood, considerably before the events of the game, and is openly obsessive over him once they reunite. She aims to be the ideal girl in his eyes and has few reservations in the pursuit of his heart. Despite this, she is shown to have other hobbies and interests and maintains a friendly relationship with most of her classmates.

Noriko met Sensei many years before the events of the game as a toddler while he was still living in the Old District and tutoring Niki and has been in love with him for as long as she can remember. He would go on to tutor her years later as a grade schooler. She was hurt when he vanished from her life following the death of his brother, Ami’s father, and his second disappearance after that, yet does not seem to hold it against him. She is passionate yet calculated in trying to catch his eye, leading him to think she’s less dangerous than her attitude might suggest. Despite her professing that she will give him «anything he wants», she is initially nervous to become intimate with him.
Maya and Noriko openly despise each other for unclear reasons. Noriko claims not to know the source of Maya’s hatred, but it seems to do with the reasons why Sensei disappeared three years prior to the events of the game. She expresses worry that Maya is trying to «steal Sensei away from her» — fears vindicated by Maya’s constant efforts to distance Sensei from her, though possibly not for the reasons she suspects. She reveals in Sculpture (Dream Girl) that Sensei tutored both her and Maya at a similar age.
Noriko exerts considerable effort trying to get Ami to like and accept her, despite the latter’s resistance. She ingratiates herself to her through constant flattery and surprising respect for Ami’s relationship to her uncle, claiming to want to share him rather than take him. Ami is reluctant to trust her given her open obsession with Sensei and Maya’s considerable animosity towards her, but at least partially accepts her. They compete to be the ‘ultimate little sister’ in Imouto Mode!
Kirin
Noriko and Kirin are friendly with each other and bond over their sexual proclivities and pursuit of the same man. They make a deal early on that Noriko will accept her sexual relationship with Sensei so long as she «does not develop feelings» for him. The pair foil each other: while Noriko is focused, surprisingly kind, and motivated by love, Kirin is spontaneous, casually cruel, and motivated by lust. They are openly attracted to each other.
Noriko and Niki are sisters and share a bond because of it. Despite this, they spend relatively little time on-screen together and many of the details of their relationship are unknown. Noriko reveals Sensei’s presence to Niki shortly after she finds out herself. They mutually disapprove of the superficial details of each others’ lives, with Noriko showing disdain for the saccharine nature of Niki’s work and Niki looking down on the way Noriko dresses and the music she listens to; however, much of this seems to be simple sibling rivalry and they share enough respect to permit a working relationship in Niki’s idol career.

Yumi Yamaguchi («Yumi») is part of the Main Cast of Lessons In Love. Yumi is one of the original ten main cast girls. She lives in room one with Chika.

Background
Yumi alternates between living in a room in the dorms with Chika and at Chika’s home in the old district where she helps to take care of Chinami. She wanders the city in her free time and is particularly fond of a bridge overlooking a street. Sensei often finds her here.
Characteristics
Yumi is the class troublemaker and frequently skips school. When she does attend, she spends most of her time berating Sensei and the other girls, especially Futaba. Sensei eventually learns that Yumi’s father is a Yakuza affiliate and her mother, Yuki, is a recovering addict who abandoned her at a young age. She makes some money selling stolen candy and televisions, but ultimately relies on Chika and eventually Sensei to support her. The only ones she tries to act responsible around are Chika and Chinami. Despite her anti-social, willful personality, Yumi has difficulty achieving financial or emotional independence from the small support network she has been able to maintain.

Chika is Yumi’s best and only real friend. She seems to be the only one who can calm Yumi down or get her to cooperate. Yumi seems to genuinely care for Chika and doesn’t want her getting used by Sensei. They bond over taking care of Chinami Chosokabe.
Chinami
According to Chika, Chinami is the only one to know «the real Yumi», as she brings out a warm, protective side of her that no one else does. Yumi takes care of her together with Chika; however, she has evidently missed out on babysitting several times in the past despite promising to do it while Chika is working.
Futaba
Yumi constantly belittles Futaba for her weight and goes out of her way to pick on her, causing friction between her and virtually everyone else in the class. She shows little remorse about the fact when confronted by Sensei. It is implied she bullies her because Futaba won’t stand up for herself and this bothers Yumi for personal reasons.
Yumi holds considerable anger for her mother on account of her neglecting and eventually deserting her as a child, a fact that both of them attribute to Yuki’s drug abuse. She seems to express no interest in a relationship with her mother despite wearing her clothes and living a similar lifestyle. Yumi was not aware about her living in Kumon-Mi until accidentally meeting her at Tojo Ramen.
Yumi’s Father
Little is said about Yumi’s father other than that he is a Yakuza affiliate and that he is no longer present in her life. Both she and Yuki hold him in very low esteem, and she expressly mentions trying to live differently than he does. Despite that, she would spend time around Yakuza members before the events of the game, likely associates of his.

Synopsis
After Maya’s melon incident, Sensei makes his way over to the trio of girls laying on the beach and speaks to them. Tsuneyo is mad at him for prompting her embarrassing question at breakfast, and in the ensuing discussion, Miku turns out not to know certain terms as well. Chika firmly changes the subject by asking Sensei what he did last evening, which leads to conversation about how Tsuneyo got to bed after getting drunk and why Sensei met Sana in the middle of the night. Chika says that she’s going to meet Rin later, and shares her suspicion that Rin has a crush on Sensei — this does not strike Sensei as a good sign, since Chika has clearly not picked up on Rin’s hints.
