A few minutes of your time
First, head to forums.newworld.com and click the Sign Up button in the top right corner
Next, follow the steps to log in to your Amazon account.
After entering your account information, you will be taken to a confirmation screen. Select “Allow.”
You will then be taken back to the Forum landing page where you will need to enter your Username. We suggest you choose something close to your in-game name, so people can recognize you.
Once you have entered a suitable Username, you will be taken to the Welcome Page. Click your avatar in the top right corner and then on your Username and select “Preferences.”
Scroll down until you see “Associated Accounts” and click the “Connect” button next to Steam.
Follow the prompts to verify connecting your Steam account to your New World Forum account.
Once you have finished that, you are now able to experience the New World Forums!

New World Update 1.0.3 will release for the Central Europe, US East, South America, and AP Southeast regions at 10PM PT (5AM UTC) on October 19. US West will begin downtime at 11PM PT (6AM UTC) on October 19. Please see below for the full server transfer rollout plan.
We’ve also added the “Waiting” emote to the in-game store— for free— as an additional thank you. To claim the emote, navigate to the in-game store and select the “Emotes” tab, where you’ll find the “Waiting” emote available for free. Emotes are account bound, so you’ll only need to claim it once on your Steam account, even if you have two characters.
Spotlight: Character Server Transfers
While we want everyone to find their long-term home in Aeternum as soon as possible, we also want to ensure that the process is safe and ready for everyone to use. We’ve been hard at work on the feature and testing it for the past two weeks, but because this feature is brand new we have decided to take a safe, incremental approach to rolling out transfers to all players.
When all worlds are back online from downtime, our plan is to monitor the framework we created without turning transfers on immediately. Once we have confirmed that the framework holds up at scale, we will turn on character server transfers in the Utopia world first, in the AP Southeast region. We will closely monitor transfers in this world, and if anything out of the ordinary occurs our team will need to make manual interventions. If all goes well, we will turn it on for the rest of the AP Southeast region, and continue monitoring. If after 8 hours our team hasn’t discovered any issues, we will fully deploy character server transfers to the other regions.

Please review the video and FAQ below so you can understand how the transfer process will work, the limitations, and how it impacts your character. Each player will receive one free character transfer token.

How do I transfer my character?
You need to log into your character, which means waiting in any applicable queues.
There will be a new tab in the in-game store to claim your character transfer token.
You need to leave your Company.
You need to remove any active Trading Post sell orders and buy orders.
Your character must be located in a sanctuary (such as a settlement or outpost).
What comes with me when I transfer?
You will keep all character progression (level, weapon mastery, titles, etc.).
You will keep your inventory and storage.
You will keep all of your currency.
You will keep your houses and housing decorations.
You will keep all quest progress.
What does not transfer with my character?
Your Company membership needs to be terminated before transferring, and will not carry over.
Active Trading Post sell orders and buy orders must be removed and will not carry over.
Your friends list is world specific and will not transfer.
Where can I move my character to?
You can move your character to any world in your region, except:
You cannot move your character to a full world.
You cannot move your character to a world in maintenance.
You cannot move your character to a world set that you have an existing character in already.
Will there be opportunities to transfer again if I choose the wrong world, the world my friends chose filled up, or I regret choosing the world I transferred to?
Transferring again will require an additional token. Our team will continue monitoring world populations, queue times, and will evaluate the need for an additional wave of server transfer tokens to be given out for free. After we are sure players have had plenty of time to find the right server for them, we will later make server transfer tokens available for purchase in the store. We will give notice ahead of time when tokens are changing to a paid service.
General
Implemented final pieces of the server transfer framework.
Added improvements to the World selection UI.
Added clearer messaging when a player is kicked due to going AFK or violating the EAC.
Added clearer messaging when stacked discounts are present, such as territory standing and faction discounts on property taxes.
Implemented back-end changes to help our team investigate concerns around the client performance in War.
Adjusted the respawn timer on Boatswain Ambrose and various other elite enemies throughout the world.
In The Depths, Players must now be in the arena to damage Thorpe.
An error message now appears when players attempt to buy their own items in the Trading Post.
Reverted a chest/loot change from update 1.0.2 that was causing too many refining reagents to roll from chests.
Adjusted the volume on the Amazon Games splash screen.
Armor is now limited to 1 weapon mastery perk on a single item. Previously, you could have perks for different weapons. Weapon mastery perks will not be removed from items that existed before this update.
Added general performance improvements for visual artifacts and graphics settings.
Dyes are now removed from items upon trade with a warning message present.
The Time to Declare War» timer now visually pauses to make it clear when an Invasion is imminent but not yet scheduled. Territory remains in a Conflict state after Invasions, and War can be declared.
Bug Fixes
General Bug Fixes
Fixed issues with the T4 and T5 azoth staffs— go close those high level portals!
Fixed an issue causing the abandoning event notification to persist.
Fixed a housing UI issue. The UI will now correctly shows that property taxes are subject to the full price of the home, and not impacted by the first time home buyer discount.
Fixed issues with early game spawning. The watchtower respawn point is replaced by the Settlement after it has been discovered. Players no longer incorrectly respawn at a Watchtower after selecting to respawn at a Settlement.
Fixed various localization issues throughout the game.
Fixed an issue where not all items for Town Projects were consumed when completing the mission.
Resolved login errors that prevented players from accessing their character.
Fixed an issue that caused Arena keys to not drop as intended.
Fixed an issue that caused the Runic Bear armor to not be appropriately dyed during Wars.
Fixed a pet placement issue. Pets placed in an otherwise empty house now remain in the home after the player logs out, instead of returning the pet to the player’s inventory.
AP Southeast servers now display the correct time zone in-game.
Fixed an issue that caused Company invites to persist after decline/accept.
Update: Our team was able to include a few other urgent fixes into this week’s update. The following issues have been fixed.
Fixed an issue that caused holding and dragging around the client while in windowed mode to constantly retrigger invincibility.
Fixed an issue that caused taxes to not go into the controlling company’s treasury.
Fixed an issue that caused penalty length for suspensions and bans to say “Over a year”.
Fixed issues with companies not receiving some territory taxes.
Additionally, we discovered that our fix for the issue with titles and achievements not always updating correctly will need some additional work, and we’ve removed it from the list. We’ll continue to work on a fix for this issue, and many more, to release in future updates.
Speculative Fixes
The fixes listed below are tentative fixes and mitigations. Our goal is to get these changes out and see if issues persist, so we can continue to work on them and address in a future update if necessary.
Worked to fix an issue where Wars and Invasions kicked off earlier than scheduled.
Worked to fix an issue where not all settlement stations upgrade as intended when town projects are completed.
Players should no longer become stuck when entering or exiting an instance. If a player reconnects and their character is dead, the respawn screen is open with respawn options available. Players who are currently stuck need to contact customer support to have their character unstuck.

Notable Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where Taxodius mini boss can be killed and looted twice in a single instance.
Addressed missing collision that allowed players to leave the intended playable space in the Depths.
Fixed an issue in Starstone Barrows with the Ancient Guardian’s animation intro.
Fixed an issue where player has the option to join ongoing expedition from another Expedition entrance.
Fixed an issue where players could build camps off of each other to reach high locations using environmental features.
Fixed an issue where Ancient AI are too numerous and difficult for solo players at Syleio Seko in Reekwater.
Removed extra tendrils in Sha Makogai and Sunken Aspect POIs and toned down the enemy count in Sunken Aspect for solo play.
Fixed an issue where players could climb over a wall to enter the Siren Queen Arena.

General AI
Introduced a new Player-vs-AI physics collision system that will significantly reduce the amount of pushback from colliding with characters.
This update applies to bipedal and simple shaped creatures (Withered, Ancient Guardians, Corrupted, Lost Pirates, Brutes, Tendrils, etc.).
Future updates will look to improve collision vs quadruped and long creatures (cats, elk, wolves, alligators, etc.).
Improved the AI target evaluation algorithm to fix some instances of AI attacking locations the player has already moved away from.
Reduced the pushback on block from most enemy creature attacks to 0.
Fixed an issue causing the Ball spell’s damage area to not properly match its visuals.
Fixed an issue that could cause the Soldier to repeatedly spam his Empower ability if shot from more than 30 meters away or when the player was unreachable.
Reduced the rate at which Elemental Bears regenerate stamina.
Swamp Dryad Soldier
Fixed an issue causing the Swamp Dryad Soldier’s downward slam to sometimes spawn a damaging area of effect. This has been removed.
Swamp Dryad Beast
Fixed an issue with the Pull ability that caused players to be pulled higher in the air based on their distance from the Beast.
The Undead Navigator’s self-buff will now properly show up as a status effect on the character’s nameplate.
Siren Arena Boss
Fixed an issue preventing the Siren from attacking players at the edge of the arena.
Updated knockdown animations to be more distinct from standard reactions.
Expedition AI
Garden of Genesis
Increased the size of the Blighted Greenskeeper’s headshot hit volume.
Fixed Mist Attack VFX to be in sync with damage.
Angry Earth Naga
Improved visibility on attack VFX.
Increased length of Chardis’s stun phase by 5s.
Increased the time before the final laser during phase 3 from 75s after phase start to 90s after phase start.
Reduced the downtime between lasers during Phases 1 and 2 from 60s to 30s.
Increased damage of the base laser during Phases 1 and 2.
Increased Chardis’s damage by 25% across the board.
Reworked Chardis’s final laser to now deal 15% of health as damage per second.
Fixed issues with the swipe animations creating safe spots on the back walls.
Fixed an issue causing Chardis to not take bonus damage from Ancient related perks and coatings.
Fixed an issue causing Chardis to not have proper Strengths and Weaknesses against certain damage types.
Fixed an issue that could cause Chardis’s laser to persist after his death.
Increased the size of Chardis’s headshot hit volume.
Mutators
Reduced the Desiccated timer from 60s to 45s.
Normalized curse damage to ensure that curses are always a threat to players of any health pool size.
Censored damage normalized to 65% base health.
Desiccated damage normalized to 50% base health.
Combat
General
You can now swap weapons during hit-reactions, dodges, traversal and while using consumables (except weapon coatings).
This will not interrupt those actions. There’s a 1 second swap cooldown in these cases.
Weapon swap buffers will no longer be canceled if you are staggered before the swap can occur.
Weapon swaps and attacks can now be queued simultaneously (e.g. if you press swap during an attack’s recovery, then immediately press an ability key, the weapon will swap at the first swap cancel frame, then immediately perform the desired ability). Note that actions still have buffer and cancel windows. This change just makes them easier to use and more reliable.
We have shortened the recovery time for all of our dodges. Transitioning to movement after a dodge should feel more fluid for all players now.
Basic attack startups (melee & ranged) can now be dodge and block canceled up to 2 frames before the first active frame. For melee attacks the first active frame is the first frame the weapon can deal damage and for ranged attacks this is the first frame that the projectile is spawned.
When performing light attacks with a melee weapon, block and dodge inputs will now take priority over the next light attack in the chain. This change is aimed at preventing accidental attack queues that leave the player vulnerable when they intended to defend.
Jumping off lower height objects will no longer trigger a fully committed land animation, this will allow you to keep your momentum as you move through Aeternum.
300 Focus Attribute Bonus: The mana regeneration from this attribute bonus will now trigger when the caster drops to 15 mana or less.
Equip Load descriptions have been updated to include the amount of stamina consumed when dodging.
Fixed an issue where the strafe movement speed would vary based on equip load.
Fixed attack cancels not working in shallow water (e.g. canceling one ability into another).
Fixed an issue that could cause some attack animations to play incorrectly when used while running.
Fixed an issue where players could get stuck while resting at a camp if they were encumbered.
Fixed an issue where players were able to clip through outcropping collision by using certain abilities while prone.
Fixed an issue what could allow players to avoid some damage from AoE attacks while in the prone position.
Fixed an issue where Rain of Arrows could trigger backstabs.
Fixed an issue where the Rain of Arrows bleed duration was not able to be extended by perks and passives that extend Bow/Bleed effect durations.
Energizing Evade Shot (Item Perk): Fixed an issue where this perk was not triggering if any upgrades were unlocked for Evade Shot.
Fixed an issue that allowed Rain of Arrows, Penetrating Shot and Poison Shot to be used while encumbered or in deep water.
Fixed an issue that allowed bow light attacks to be activated underwater.
Fixed an issue with bow hipfiring that made the canceling windows different than when firing down sights. This fix normalizes the firing rate between hipfiring and firing down sights.
Fire Staff
Increased Fireball projectile radius from 0.01 to 0.33 to make it easier to hit with.
Fireball can now critical hit.
Fixed an issue where Reheat could persist through weapon swaps and ability usage.
Updated Flamethrower and Meteor Shower to trigger Reheat’s 4s timer when the ability exits.
Fixed an issue that caused the flyout icon for Reheat to incorrectly show as «Empower».
Reduced the delay between Pillar of Fire’s activation and the spawning of its damage AoE. The fire pillar now spawns when the player finishes extending their staff forward.
Increased Flamethrower’s base movement speed so that haste buffs have a more notable effect. The new move speed is approximately 2x faster than the previous speed.
Accelerating Flamethrower (Item Perk): Fixed an issue where the haste effect from the Accelerating Flamethrower perk was only triggering off of exactly 3 stacks and not 3 or more stacks.
Let it Burn: Fixed an issue where the burn status effects from Fireball, Burnout, and some passive abilities were not triggering the Let It Burn passive.
Fixed visual issues with some Fire Staffs.
Great Axe
Swapped the placement of the Frustration passive and the Keen Edge passives. Ability points spent on Great Axe ability trees will be refunded and require a respec after this update.
Updated damage area to match Vortex visuals.
Reduced Vortex pull force to allow players a chance to escape.
Pulling force ends just before Vortex damage occurs to allow players a chance to escape by dodging.
Removed unintended damage from the initial pull and area effect of the Vortex.
Updated and clarified the description of this ability.
No Reprieve: Fixed an issue where the cancel window was set too early this upgrade, resulting in the ability being cancelled out prior to the 2nd spin on the attack.
Reduced the damage reduction provided by this passive from 20% to 12%.
Updated the tooltip to clarify that the damage reduction occurs while any grit is active and not just the grit provided by heavy attacks.
Hatchet
Fixed an issue where the Accumulated Power and On Fire passives were not consistently triggering with hatchets that had perks with alternative damage sources (DoTs, Chain Elemental, etc).
Ice Gauntlet
Spiky Reach: Adjusted the projectiles fired from this upgrade to reduce the chance that a single target is hit with all 4 parts of the attack.
Fixed an issue where if two different players had different amounts of modifiers and perks for the Ice Storm ability they could stack the damage from it instead of it just being a single instance of damage.
Punishing Storm: Added clarification on the tooltip to state that it will only increase Ice Storm’s damage.
Fixed a desync issue that could occur when players dodged through Ice Shower.
Fixed an issue that could cause Ice Shower’s root to fail when players dodged through it.
Fixed an issue where Ice Shower would not start its cooldown immediately when the first ice patch appeared.
Pylon Burst (Item Perk): Increased AoE to 3m radius from 1m. Added new burst VFX to show this new radius.
Life Staff
Fixed an issue where the Speed of Light haste was not applying to the caster if their weapon was sheathed.
Haste applied by Speed of Light will now apply to all targets within the AoE, not just allies who are healed. The tooltip has been updated to reflect this new functionality.
Musket
Fixed an issue where Sticky Bomb’s crit damage was not increased when the crit damage numbers would appear. Crits will now deal
273% weapon damage.
Reduced Sticky Bomb base damage from 235% weapon damage to 210% weapon damage.
Fixed an issue where Sticky Bomb had broken and inconsistent transitions upon exiting the throw depending on the actions performed after the throw. This could cause the player to be locked out of other abilities until they moved or switched weapons.
Fixed an issue where firing too quickly after entering Shooter’s Stance would not consume a shot, allowing players to bypass the 5 shot limit.
Fixed an issue where exiting Shooter’s Stance would reset stacks of the Heightened Precision passive.
Fixed an issue which could allow players to bypass the animation for Shooter’s Stance and fire from a standing position.
This ability has been reworked and no longer empowers your next shot, but instead fires a special bullet after a short warmup time that knocks back your target if it hits.
Stopping Power can be fired from aim down sights or hip fired.
Stopping Power’s hit-reaction animation changed to better match the timing that the target is staggered.
Ability description updated to reflect new functionality.
Cooldown increased from 15 seconds to 20 seconds.
Powder Burn and Power Shot:
Loaded shots can now be overwritten. Activating one of these abilities to load a shot while the other is already loaded will replace the previously loaded shot with the new shot.
Fixed an issue where loaded shots from these abilities were not counting towards the Heightened Precision passive stacking.
Hustle: Fixed an issue where the this passive had a shorter duration than intended while the Back it Up passive was also active.
Players can now use consumables while reloading. Using consumables will interrupt reloading.
Fixed an issue that allowed musket basic attacks to be activated underwater.
Rapier
Flurry: Updated ability description to clarify that Flurry can be canceled by other abilities as well as by dodging.
Evade: Fixed an issue where sheathing the rapier after triggering Evade would result in the player getting a persistent movement speed buff.
Spear
Refreshing Reach: Fixed an issue where Refreshing Reach would not trigger correctly with Coup De Grâce.
Javelin: Fixed an issue where swapping weapons while using Javelin could result in a bad animation state.
Sword and Shield
Shield Rush: The hitbox of this ability has been moved closer to the player to prevent situations where the the ability could hit targets that appeared to be out of range. The distance traveled by the rush has been increased to compensate for this loss of range.
Tactician: This upgrade will no longer reduce the cooldown of Reverse Stab. It will still reduce the cooldown of other sword abilities when triggered.
The leaping and attacking portions of this ability now have separate properties for their homing and movement in order to improve the overall accuracy based on distance.
Adjusted homing for better translation against distant targets.
Adjusted homing for more accurate and consistent tracking against closer targets.
Void Gauntlet
Mending Evasion: Fixed an issue where this passive would reset your lowest active cooldown in addition to its listed effects.
War Hammer
Armor Breaker: Fixed an issue where players could not buffer attack inputs from any of the war hammer abilities into the Armor Breaker ability.
Reduced the damage reduction provided by this passive from 20% to 12%.
Updated the tooltip to clarify that the damage reduction occurs while any grit is active and not just the grit provided by heavy attacks.
Empowering Armor Breaker (Item Perk): Fixed an issue where the this perk was applying to all hits for 5 seconds, and not just the initial hit.
Perks
Weapon Ability Perks: Updates to perks for specific weapon abilities can be found in that weapon’s update notes section.
Fixed an issue where Chain perks could hit targets through obstacles.
Fixed an issue where Chain perks could appear on weapons they were not intended to appear on (such as shields).
Fixed an issue that caused the flyout icon for the Evasive perk to incorrectly show as «Discrete».
Plentiful Shells/Plentiful Arrows:
Fixed an issue where the Plentiful Shells/Plentiful Arrows bag perk was not properly scaling its refund chance based on gear score.
Fixed an issue where the refund chance would not stack properly if you had multiple bags with the same perk.
Shirking Energy: Fixed an issue which caused this perk to incorrectly activate in equip loads other than light.
Gathering Recovery: Fixed an inconsistency with this perk being incorrectly referred to as “Gathering Restoration” in some tooltips.
Keenly Jagged: Fixed issue where the tooltip for the Keenly Jagged perk was showing the incorrect bleed duration.
Aversion: Fixed an issue where the Elemental and Physical Aversion perks were not stacking properly.
Slotted Gems: Fixed an issue which could cause gem perks to show debug strings instead of their actual values.
Fixed an issue where the «Harbinger Life Staff of the Sage» and «Harbinger Fire Staff of the Scholar» staves had a perks for the opposite weapon on them.
War & Invasion
Fixed an issue where the Void Destroyer could survive after both its eyes were destroyed.
Fixed an issue where Cleansing Elixir was removing but not properly preventing the re-application of debuffs during its duration.
Players can now access the Scoreboard while waiting to respawn.
Outpost Rush
Fixed an issue causing the Corrupted Legionnaire to have no stamina.
Fixed an issue causing the Corrupted Priest’s hounds to quickly appear skinnable upon death.
Fixed an issue causing the Outpost Rush fort barriers to show the name of objects the player had previously interacted with.
Fixed an incorrect description present on the Brute summoning stone.
Fixed an issue causing Turrets to appear as if they were on fire after being rebuilt from the destroyed state.
Fixed an issue in Outpost Rush causing the Command Post to appear active prior to it being completed.
Fixed an issue with the Outpost Rush map appearing misaligned.
Reworked Outpost Rush Scoring & Rewards
Dealing damage now increases the player’s score.
Reduced the amount of points granted from killing players.
Reduced the amount of points granted from killing AI.
Visually changed the nameplates of several Outpost Rush AI to better clarify their difficulty. The changes in nameplate do not mean there were tuning changes to those AI unless called out below.
Increased the health of the Corrupted Priest by 10%.
Reduced the damage dealt by the Corrupted Brute by 10%.
Reduced the health of the Corrupted Brute by 13%.
Summoned Ghosts and Summoned Bears now take 150% bonus damage from Siege Damage.
Summoned Corrupted Brutes now take 200% bonus damage from Siege Damage.
Increased the base damage of the Repeater by 20%.
Increased the base damage of the Fire Dropper by 16%.
Increased the benefit of having more friendly players on a control point. Each friendly player on an uncontested point now reduces the time it takes to capture the point by 3s (was previously 1.5s) On an uncontested point, this benefit maxes out at 10 players for a minimum capture time of 30s.
Reduced the length of Baroness Hain’s score lock from 3 minutes to 2.5 minutes.
Replaced the Explosive Barrel Launchers on either side of Outpost Sol with Ballista Turrets. These cost 50 Infused Ore and 50 Infused Wood to build and will be great tools in taking down the defenses of Outpost Sol.
Adjusted the emplacements so they’re more flush with the ground.
Adjusted Rewards granted from Outpost Rush
Outpost Rush now rewards Umbral Shards on completion of a match. 100 shards for the winning team, and 50 shards to the losing team. Players must meet the minimum score threshold to be eligible for this reward.
Outpost Rush now rewards Faction Tokens on completion of a match. Players must meet the minimum score threshold to be eligible for this reward.
Outpost Rush Caches now reward 2 pieces of Outpost Rush specific armor and an Outpost Rush specific weapon. There is an additional 15% for a 4th item, a piece of Outpost Rush Jewelry.
There’s a 2.5% chance that the rolled Outpost Rush item is a named item, the same chance as exists today.
Significantly increased the likelihood that the rewards in the Outpost Rush Cache will increase the player’s Expertise.
Outpost Rush gear now rolls off a fixed list of perks that are more ideal for PvP combat. This means that traits like Beast Ward won’t be found on Outpost Rush gear.
Removed Beast Ward from Illusory Enigma and replaced it with Keen. Please note that this change isn’t retroactive and it will only apply to new Illusory Engima’s granted after the patch.
Players can now access the Scoreboard while waiting for a respawn.

Progression
Levelling for Arcana, Armoring, Engineering, Furnishing, Jewelcrafting, and Weaponsmithing trade skills will now require 10% less XP.
Rewards
Fixed an issue preventing T5 family muskets from dropping. This also corrects an issue where lower tier family muskets were dropping at incorrect levels.
Bartholomew at Thunder Harbor was dropping some level-inappropriate gear. This has been fixed.
Two missing housing items have been added to potential loot drops: Wooden Sidet Desk and Rickety Twig Table.
Increased the likelihood that caches from Major Corruption Breaches will grant an expertise increase.
Crafting
Several T5 weapon schematics were incorrectly displaying Legendary rarity, even though they crafted Epic items. These schematics have been corrected to indicate Epic rarity. Affected schematics: Voidforged Harbinger Longsword, Maker’s Mark Hatchet, Stonerend Warhammer, Eternal Dusk Greataxe, Needler Rapier, Inquisition Musket, Hidden Truths Spear, Veilpiercer Bow, Windsinger Lifestaff, Waning Crescent Firestaff, Frost Fairy’s Gift Ice Gauntlet, and the Empty Promise Void Gauntlet.
Fishing
Reduced the effectiveness of fishing bots.
Notable Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue causing certain weapons dropping in the Lazarus Instrumentation Expedition to not salvage into the correct tier of material. They now salvage into T5 material. This was also the case for some crafted versions of these weapons, which has also been fixed.
Forest Warden’s set previously salvaged into incorrect values for repair parts and coin and also had incorrect repair part costs. The Forest Warden’s armor pieces now salvage into the correct amounts and cost the correct amount of repair parts.
Fixed the description for the ‘Shard of Crystalized Azoth’ Perk Item. It now correctly states that it provides the Divine perk.
Fixed an issue causing the Skinner Tradeskill armor set to filter into the incorrect armor weight on the trading post. It now correctly filters into Medium Armor.
Removed several unused attribute mods from the trading post.
Fixed an issue causing some items to display on the trading post even though they were not tradeable.
Previewing weapon skins from the store while in housing area will no longer cause player to use incorrect weapon animations afterwards.

Players can now see both friendly and enemy progress towards the Brute at the corrupted portal in Outpost Rush.
The Crafting Screen should no longer select the first recipe if you quickly select another recipe while it is opening.

PTR Notes
The following notes were added or changed as a direct result of internal testing efforts and players submitting feedback in the PTR. Thanks to all those who participated!
End Game
Yellow Topaz no longer has a minimum drop time.
Black Gypsum minimum drop time has been reduced from 10m to 5m.
Purple Gypsum minimum drop time has been reduced from 2m to 30s.
Added a Gypsum Orb to the faction vendor which can be bought once per day for 7,000 faction tokens.
Aptitude Leveling
Smelter Crafting gear now drops from T3 Aptitude boxes.
Drop of Viscous Azoth now drop from armor Aptitude boxes.
General Fixes
Ancient Armor Plates, Ancient Metallic Thread, and Cold-Forged Buckles are not earnable in-game and are no longer incorrectly listed on the Trading Post.
Created a new icon and new font color for the new Trade Chat channel.
Removed the option to use Umbral Shards to upgrade an item when the item was removed from the Player’s inventory and in a bag on the ground.
Fixed an issue where expired orders from the Trading Post did not notify the player they would be returned to town storage shed.
Fixed multiple grammatical errors found on loading screen tips.
Fixed an issue where the Shield’s action menu was not working properly after canceling dyeing.
Open World
With lessons learned from lowering housing taxes in December, we want to further reduce housing tax costs and friction for players that own homes. With this update, we have greatly lowered the tax cost itself while also increasing the amount of company revenue earned from housing taxes directly (this change has been done in order to offset the lower incoming taxes so that townships can continue to operate at previous levels). After these changes are made, will will continue to evaluate the state of the economy and perform additional optimizations to the territory tax system where needed. In the meantime, here are the specific changes to be introduced in February:
Updated housing tax minimum band lowered from 5% to 0.1%.
Updated housing tax maximum band lowered from 10% to 1%.
Controlling company receives 5x coin generated from regional housing taxes.
Reduced the leveling experience curve for the Fishing gathering skill by roughly 38%.
The Cooking aptitude experience curve has been increased by about 30% since it was greatly outpacing other trade skill aptitude progression. This should bring Cooking aptitude reward frequencies more in-line with the other professions.
Mutated Dynasty Expedition now gives Sapphire Gypsum upon completion.
Dynasty Expedition bosses now give the same amount of coin as bosses in other endgame Expeditions.
Increased the Umbral gained from casts from 3-200 to 100-400.
Increased the Umbral gained from crafting from 1-85 to 25-100.
Fixed a bug causing some players to be locked out of chat for a few minutes at the beginning of their session.
Fixed bugs causing the tool-tips on Infused Silk apparel displaying incorrect gearscore.
Ensured that Expertise bumps are always granted by the first item dropped by Expedition bosses.
Corrected debug text displaying on the Starbound Remembrance Earring.
The server now teleports 2x as many people into and out of a war, resulting in less standby wait time.
Fixed an issue causing Fire Staves and Life Staves to roll with the incorrect attribute perk in mutated expeditions.
Reduced the amount of Powerful Gem dust on Mutator Orbs from 10 to 5.
Mutator Orbs can now be purchased from the Faction Store every 3 days, rather than every 7 days.
World
Fixed broken collision at Outpost Rush Northern Spawn allowing enemy players access to the spawn.
Fixed an issue that caused players to receive large amounts of Poinsettias. Adjusted to 4.
Quests
Level 60 quests in Reekwater and Shattered Mountain now reward Gypsum Orbs.
Increased rewarded experience for side quests (Level 10-60) by 50%.
Travel
Azoth cost for fast-travel has long been a pain point for players trying to complete quests, deposit items or just exploring the wilds of Aeternum. With an already high base cost plus additional penalties for distance and encumbrance, it could feel like getting to the next step of your quest was more of a burden than it had to be. In order to ease this burden on traveling, we are reducing the cost of fast-travel as well as the cooldown on recalls to your last inn:
Fast-travel from Towns and Shrines will now have a base cost of 20 Azoth.
There are no longer cost adjustments for distance or weight.
Default recall time to the Inn has been reduced from 1 hour to 30 minutes.
Reduced cost of resetting fast-travel cooldown on houses from 50 Azoth to 20 Azoth.
We realize these changes will significantly reduce the sinks for Azoth and will result in many players having more than they can use in the immediate future. We are also aware that it will result in Faction Control Point bonuses for certain regions being nullified. While we are planning out ways to address these issues in a future update, we didn’t want that to get in the way of improving your travel experience today.
Expedition Mutations
Updated the Combustible tool-tip text to properly describe the effect on players.
Resolved an issue causing Corrupted Priests in Invasions to repeatedly navigate back and forth inside forts instead of attacking.
Combat
Updated the Keenly Jagged perk tool-tip to state the correct duration. It previously showed the 10s cooldown duration as the DoT duration instead of the intended 6s duration.
Performing a melee attack will no longer have a delay before you can sprint again.
Reduced player sliding momentum that can occur after dodging and/or making sudden changes to movement direction.
Void Gauntlet
Void Gauntlet is currently a little too effective at locking down and killing targets before they can recover from the root on Petrifying Scream. We are increasing the cooldown on Petrifying Scream to lower the frequency of this kill combo and lowering the damage of Orb of Decay to make it less likely to kill tougher targets. As Orb of Decay already has many other functions — including healing and debuffing — we feel like it’s safe to reduce its damage in this way without hurting the ability’s overall viability.
Increased cooldown from 15s to 25s.
Base ability damage reduced from 100% to 90%.
Detonating Orb: Detonation damage reduced from 100% to 70%.
Rapier
We’re seeing a lot of players taking rapier as a secondary weapon for it’s defensive capabilities over its offensive ones. While we expected this behavior in a dual weapon system, we currently feel like this loadout is a bit too effective at running away. As a result, we are increasing the cooldown of skills in the Grace tree. To offset the longer cooldown of Evade, we are swapping the upgrades Crescendo and Breathe In so that players using Evade offensively have better access to cooldown reduction.
Increased cooldown from 12s to 18s.
Increased cooldown from 6s to 12s.
Swapped the positions of the Crescendo and Breathe In upgrades. As a result of this change, points in this tree will be refunded and need to be respec’ed.
Increased cooldown from 17s to 20s.
Great Axe
We’ve heard your feedback that the changes to Gravity Well on the PTR went too far in terms of reducing its effectiveness, so we went back to the drawing board and are trying a different approach. This new version of Gravity Well includes a root that occurs after the initial pull to help hold your targets in place and includes a stronger slow after the pull to make it harder for foes to escape the damage pulse without using a movement ability.
Improved pulling tech to more reliably pull foes to the center.
Foes who are pulled to the center of the vortex are rooted for 1 second.
Increased slow from 55% to 60%.
Slow field duration restored to 3s so that it will last until the explosion occurs.
Server
Trading and sending gold now requires players to be physically near each other. If players are in an invalid location, they will instead receive an error message alerting them of such.
Several bugs involving characters transferring to different worlds have been fixed.
Please note, in the February Team Update video, we mentioned that we would be reducing the logging XP needed to level up in this update. This change will occur in an upcoming weekly update. Additionally, We have seen multiple reports of issues with tuning orbs not having the correct cooldown after our February Update. The dev team has identified the issue and are working to correct it. We apologize for the inconvenience this confusion has caused.

Ну начну с себя, почему я решил написать и почему именно я могу дать инфу по игре.
За игрой я следил еще в далеком 2018 году, в начале 2019 года мне прислали доступ к альфа тесту с НДА (именно первый альфа тест был в 2019 году!) на котором я поиграл более 2 недель. Тогда не было раздела на гохе, была только тема с обсуждениями игры. Вот та самая тема в которой мы небольшим кружком общались по игре. 🙂
Вот мой один из первых постов в этой теме:
Как вы уже поняли из того сообщения, игра на первом альфа тесте в 2019 году была со всем другая. Я уже некоторое подзабыл, но распишу то что осталось в памяти.
1. В игре не было системы фракций. В игре была классическая система аля ла2. У нас кланы, союзы, один огромный мир без инстансов и захват территорий. Все верно. Мир игры был разделен на 30-40 территорий, который клан мог захватить и строить свой собственный город со станками для крафта, аукционом! И мы бегали осаждали города которые строили.
2. В игре была классическая система пвп\пк. Убивать мог любого, включая режим ПК. Ну и на севере карты у нас была фри пвп зона с топ ресурсами для крафта и строительства т3+. За которые мы конечно и сражались каждый день. К слову, у нас были ПК города, где ПК игроки могли крафтить и чинить шмот. В такой ситуации можно было организовать ПК клан.
3. Осады. Как я уже говорил, в игре мы осаждали города которые сами строили. На осаду мог прийти хоть весь сервер. У нас была помню крупная осада на которые пришли много кланов и была замес в 200 человек, где даже в небе помню летал разработчик и смотрел на это месиво. И хочу сказать, это было круто.
4. Система шмота и крафта. Для начало нужно понять, почему именно такая система была добавлена в игре.
Во первых при смерти с тебя падал весь твой инвентарь (то что на тебе надето оставалось)
Во вторых при ремонте шмоток макс. прочность отнималась и шмот в итоге после 6-8 починок просто ломался.
В третьих система добычи камня\дерево аля выживач была добавлена с целью строительства городов, где прям тонны ресурсов нужно было. Что бы вы понимали, на 2 неделю только у некоторых появлялись т3 стены и станки в своих городах. + шмот ломался и ресурсы были нужны всегда.
Все это в сумме давало просто идеальную экономику. Тебе нужно постоянно фармить, ведь любой шмот у тебя со временем ломается. Ты строишь города на 30-40 территориях, где нужно просто тонны ресурсов. На севере у нас фарм топ ресов и голды, где у нас фри пвп зона, где были постоянные стычки. И все это работало как часы.
И так, весной в 2019 году как раз альфа с НДА закончилась на которой я поиграл и получил кучу удовольствия. И разрабы ушли дальше разрабатывать игру. Тишина была пол года и вот в начале 2020 года разработчики вышли на связь и заявили о резком изменении направления игры. Для меня это конечно было шоком и я даже не поверил. Вот тот самый видос который они выпустили с которого все началось. С которого они начали ломать игру.
Под видео мы видим кучу дизлайков и кучу гневных коментариев.
Некоторые из уволенных разработчиков прокоментировали и сказали, что движок игры плохой и не способен в многопользовательские игры. По этому в игре плохая оптимизация и никогда в этой игре ее не будет. Для справки, утечка памяти была еще в 2019 году, но я думал альфа тест и НДА и потом исправят проблему, но как видим нет. Игра выходит в релиз, а болячки так и остались.

И так, у игры появилась новая команда разработчиков, которая начала *убивать игру* в моем понимании. А новая команда появилась по простой причине. Изначально НВ не был у них основной игрой, так еще проблемы с движком с которыми они не справились. И вот как раз в тот самый момент когда закончился альфа тест с НДА в июле 2019 года, разработчики из amazon game studios взялись за новый проект по вселенной Властелин колец вместе с китайцами.

Прошла волна увольнений, основные силы были брошены на новую игру. А New World отдали другой команде, которая начала игру переделывать, а не продолжать разработку. По этому мы наблюдаем такой проект в котором очень много проблем.
Ну и как стало известно, игру по Властелину колец отменили из за того, что компанию которая владеет правами на создания игры по Властелину колец выкупили Tencent и Amazon не смогли договорится о дальнейшей разработки игры.
Вот такая история, бросили New World ради новой игры по Влестелину колец которую прикрыли и теперь мы вынуждены смотреть на это чудище которое сотворили новые разработчики New World со всеми болячками и проблемами.
От себя добавлю. Я бы не рекомендовал игру покупать на старте. Все же у руля игры сейчас другие люди которые ничерта не шарят в создании игр и им нужны лишь ваши деньги. Это стало очевидным после вот этого поста, который нам говорит о многом, о человеке который делает New World. Где разработчики заявили, что у нас п2в не будет до 2022 года. Ну а потом.

General Fixes
Fixed a bug where rapidly dropping and picking up items from could cause them to disappear from the bag and inventory.
Fixed an issue where collision geometry could disappear at region borders.
To prevent limited time bags of Juniper Berries from being exploited, and to add a layer of progression and potential for extra coin for players at end game, we updated the coin rewards payout from the as follows:
Housing system has had an overhaul on how data is being stored. This is to prevent issues with players losing their houses or items therein.
Fixed an issue where players could not fast travel to home or respawn at home after relogging from exit to desktop.
Known issue: The weekly Mutator schedule rotation may fail to rotate. We have added additional code to help us track down the issue.
Fixed a bug where the UI could incorrectly select an incorrect item briefly after scrolling. Now, wherever the cursor currently is at the time of the click is the item that is selected. We suspect this was leading to players salvaging an incorrect item on accident.
Combat Updates
Fixed an issue where Mending Evasion would reset your lowest active cooldown.
Fixed an issue where sheathing the Rapier after triggering Evade would result in the player getting a persistent movement speed buff.
Fixed an issue where the Ice Gauntlet’s Punishing Storm was increasing all player damage and not just the Ice Storm’s damage.

What a week it has been! We’re humbled and honored by the amount of adventurers that have begun to make their mark on Aeternum.
Last week we shared that our top priority was ensuring that everyone could login and play quickly, without having to wait for queues. To accomplish that, we more than doubled the number of available servers, increased server capacity on existing servers, and are continuing to work on a feature to allow players to transfer their characters to different servers, which will be available soon. While members of our team are working tirelessly on ensuring players can find a server to call their long-term home with the character transfer feature, other members have worked on a few additional quality of life updates and bug fixes to ensure that once players have entered Aeternum they’re able to play and progress as intended.
General
We’ve implemented the groundwork for the character server transfer, and you may see elements of that work in the in-game store. We’re continuing to work on this feature, and will have more information on how the system works later this week when we release server transfers.
Changed turret projectiles in War from physical projectiles to use hitscan detection. This should help performance in War, with fewer objects being spawned in the world.
AFK Prevention
In an effort to ensure players can’t stay AFK, especially in higher population servers, we’ve made the following adjustments to the AFK prevention system.
Added additional AFK prevention to ensure players cannot fool the existing system with simulated mouse movement.
Shortened the AFK warning message from 20mins to 15mins.
Shortened the AFK disconnect from 25mins to 20mins.
World Queue
We added a confirmation screen when a player attempts to leave the queue for a world, asking the player to confirm if they’re intending to leave the queue. This should help ensure nobody accidentally leaves the queue and misses out on their spot in line.

General Bug Fixes:
Fixed an issue where players couldn’t gain more than 3 levels of Aptitude when crafting large quantities of items at once.
Disabled a short series of work-in-progress quests which were missing some aspects, most notably the rewards. These quests are being disabled for the time being, and they’ll be re-enabled at a later date. Players who have completed the quests in their current state can keep the XP and gold earned, but progress will be reset so you can complete the quests again for the proper rewards when they’re re-enabled. This week’s update brings in another swathe of bug fixes, alongside laying additional groundwork for the upcoming server transfer feature. Many members of our team are still working tirelessly on ensuring everyone can find a world to call their long-term home with the character transfer feature. Faction Missions:
We adjusted the rates of influence gain over time so that it will continue to require significant effort over time to flip a territory into conflict state:
Reduced the amount of influence increase over time significantly for attacking factions. This is to account for a bug we found where the increase was multiplied much faster than intended over time.
Removed the decrease in influence over time for defending factions.

Примерно в то же время пользователи из России и Беларуси начали оставлять негативные рецензии на New World в Steam, отмечая, что Amazon заблокировала их аккаунты по IP. Игроки начали жёстко критиковать разработчиков и требовать вернуть потраченные деньги на MMO.
За период с 21 по 22 марта New World получила свыше 70 отрицательных отзывов от российских и белорусских игроков.
Обсуждение на форуме, где один из пользователей спросил о возможных причинах блокировки, закрыли, сославшись на то, что в теме начали обсуждать мировую политику, что запрещено правилами сайта.
Комьюнити-менеджер New World не назвал точных причин массовых банов аккаунтов, лишь заявив, что игра доступна только в определённых регионах «из-за технических и других ограничений».
Amazon пока так и не дала отдельных комментариев на этот счёт, однако в группе в «ВКонтакте» сообщили, что разработчики восстановили соединение с серверами. Некоторые предположили, что MMO была недоступна из-за технических проблем на стороне Amazon, однако в таком случае до конца не ясно, почему это затронуло только игроков с российскими и белорусскими IP.

Fixed a handful of rare server crashes and errors.
Fixed an issue that caused World Transfer conditions to falsely report as not met. Players should now be able to use World Transfer tokens if all conditions are truly met.
Fixed an issue that caused Hidden Stashes to drop under certain circumstances. They are intended to be on hiatus and should not appear during the Summer event.
Added a speculative fix for an issue that caused far away players and objects to appear frozen. We will continue to monitor the forums to see if players are still encountering this issue after the update.
Both World and Regional transfers now have a 3-day (72 hour) cooldown after use. We will continue to monitor the results of this change to see if further adjustments are necessary.
UX/UI/Social
Fixed a visual issue impacting Music Sheet description text within the Buy panel of the Trading Post.
Improved visual polish for the Song Selection menu during a Musical Performance.
Fixed an issue that prevented the color of the Divine Vengeance weapon skin from showing accurately. The store preview will now match the weapon skin’s true color.
Improved confirmation messages when rebinding keys to the space bar.

Ранее Amazon отказался от русской локализации и изъял игру из местного Steam
Накануне учетные записи игроков из России начали блокировать в MMORPG New World — местоположение определяется по IP.
На это местные геймеры жалуются в Steam и на других площадках. Если аккаунт еще не получил бан, то можно использовать VPN, в противном случае вариантов остаться в Этернуме нет. Amazon не разъяснил ситуацию, однако ранее американская компания уже объявила об прекращении работы над русской локализацией и сняла игру с продажи в российском сегменте Steam.
[Обновлено] На официальном форуме тему про ситуацию быстро прикрыли за обсуждение глобальной политики. Кстати, на блокировки сетуют и жители Беларуси. Комьюнити-менеджер Luxendra дал пространный комментарий:
[Обновлено] Amazon по-прежнему воздерживается от комментариев, но не все игроки из РФ и РБ столкнулись с блокировками, так что речь может идти о некоем временном сбое со стороны компании или провайдеров.

New World Update 1.1.1 will release at 11pm PT (7am UTC) on November 30.
Motes from Elemental enemies:
Fixed an issue causing a large number of motes to drop from elemental enemies.
We also removed elemental motes as rewards from gathering elemental creatures and reduced the amount of other resources acquired from them to account for the number of them in the world and the frequency at which they respawn. The original intention with these creatures was to make them challenging and infrequent encounters in the world. The way we used them in practice resulted in them becoming less dangerous and more frequent which caused an imbalance with the amount of resources they provided, compared to the primary sources such as elemental plants and stones.
Missing Horticulture Gear
In our latest update, we made a mistake that treated all tiers of the in-game Horticulture harvesting gear as future content, and unintentionally removed them from the game. We apologize for this bug that has caused you to lose some items you rightfully earned. If you have lost an acquired piece of Harvester Armor you should have an extra Rewards Chest in your Inventory after this update.
These items will be provided at the highest tier you have personally acquired in the past for any piece of the Harvester set. Since they are at the maximum Gear Score for that tier, they will be gated by the appropriate player level to equip them. These items are marked as Bind on Equip like any Harvester armor piece you would encounter normally. Once you open the chest it will provide you 5 items:

Fixed a bug where Jewel crafting recipes were not granting enough trade skill XP
Recently we lowered the amount of trade skill XP provided by lower tiered items when a player reaches a new tier of crafting bases per skill. To use metal as an example, when a player unlocks Steel recipes they earn less from crafting iron recipes. We did this to emphasize crafting higher tiered items as you progress through trade skills and to also improve the value of higher tiered materials. Our intention behind this change is to reward players for crafting higher tiered items as they progress through the ranks of each trade skill. Before this change, we found players were spending too much time crafting low tier items as opposed to pushing their crafting skill up crafting items that they may actually use at their current level.

Fixed an issue that caused the Alacrity, Empowered, and Fortified Amulet perks to disable the Freedom, Vigor, and Invigorated Armor perks if equipped in a specific order.

World Experience
Rabbits’ Revenge Mini-Event
Corruption has possessed rabbits all over Aeternum. For a planned duration of 2 weeks, players can hunt them down for special rewards such as:
Defiled Rabbit’s Foot, an enchanted consumable that grants players extra luck for 40 minutes when used. The strength of its effect scales with player level, and players can collect up to 5 per day.
Diamond Gypsum, which can be used to increase expertise for a type of gear of the player’s choosing. Players can collect up to 3 per day.
Defiled Storage Chest of the Hare, an incredible rare drop which provides superior storage capacity and an intriguing Corruption visual effect for the player’s home. Limit 1 per player.
Earthly Hidden Stashes will temporarily be on hiatus while Corrupted rabbits are in season, but will return once the event concludes.
Quests
Disabled previous versions of the “Saboteur” and “Master of the Tempest” quests to allow completion via the new “Solo” alternative. Players that have either old quest versions pending in their Journal will have to re-obtain the associated expedition quest, but will now be able to take the alternative objective if desired.
Fixed several spots in both Isabella and Neishatun’s boss arenas where players could intentionally stand or go prone and avoid aggro or attacks.
Fixed an issue where Neishatun could become unresponsive during his encounter.
Added additional measures to prevent players from re-entering a blocked-off encounter arena.
Exploration
Fixed an issue that caused high-level elemental plants from dropping correct resources when gathered.

Игроки активно критикуют разработчиков за неспособность организовать доступность серверов New World. After we monitor Outpost Rush in South America to ensure no new issues are encountered, we will enable it for the following regions at the times below.

Removed the Everfall starting beach to funnel new players through the other 3 locations to increase the probability of new players and friends being able to start together.
Added a confirmation step in the housing UI to help ensure players don’t accidentally abandon a house they own.
The first house discount reduces the purchase price, but does not reduce taxes. However, the UI indicated to players that their taxes would be reduced, and it was only after purchasing the house and needing to pay taxes that they discovered they had to pay full price. We will compensate any player who purchased a house before the UI fix went out with 2,000 coins.
Slightly improved performance within Wars.
Slightly improved the performance of the Life Staff with changes to the passive abilities Mending Touch and Blissful Touch.
In update 1.0.3 we corrected a bug causing companies to lose income from owning multiple territories or from failed War declarations. With this update we are reimbursing lost coin revenue.
The Company treasury will be reimbursed for all lost coin revenue resulting from the issue.
The revenue returned will not exceed the treasury cap.
If a Company has been completely abandoned, they will not recover lost coin.
We increased the Faction token cap by 50% for each Faction tier. We made this change so that players can earn extra tokens even if they’ve hit the reputation cap and want to save up while working to advance to the next Faction rank. Here are the new values:
Tier 1: 5,000 tokens, increased to 7,500
Tier 2: 10,000 tokens, increased to 15,000
Tier 3: 15,000 tokens, increased to 22,500
Tier 4: 25,000 tokens, increased to 37,500
Tier 5: 50,000 tokens, increased to 75,000
General Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where the Faction token caps were not increasing after players had completed the rank-up quests for their faction.
Fixed a rare issue causing world time to skip ahead or behind, which would subsequently cause a variety of issues across the world.
Fixed several rare server crash issues.
Fixed an issue with the suspension/ban notification showing incorrect times.
Fixed an issue where players could use their world transfer token while they still had active trading post contracts, causing additional issues when the transfer resolved.
Fixed an issue causing some AI to not spawn in the world as intended.
Fixed an issue where Mrykgard Corrupted portals in Shattered Mountain were distributing higher tier gear than intended, and respawning faster than intended.
Fixed an issue where enemies in Myrkgard Corrupted portal events were dropping loot.
Fixed an issue causing an unintended animation when interacting with the bubbling cauldron housing item, and an issue causing the ladle object to not appear in the player’s hand while interacting.
Fixed an issue with Starmetal and Orichalcum ore veins where large ore veins were rewarding small amounts of ore and small ore veins were rewarding larger amounts of ore.
Fixed an issue where the War lottery timer would not pause correctly during the War lockout period.
Fixed the render distance of the Jack-o-Lantern Pumpkin lights.
Fixed an issue causing the GM chat tag to show on non-GM players.

Fixed an issue where players could obtain rings that had two perks sharing an exclusive perk label, and shouldn’t exist on the same ring.
Fixed an issue causing the projectile visual to be absent from Ice Gauntlet and Ice Pylon attacks.
Fixed an issue where players would be unable to complete a variety of game actions after fast traveling.
Speculative Fixes
The fixes listed below are tentative fixes and mitigations. Our goal is to get these changes out and see if issues persist, so we can continue to work on them and address in a future update if necessary.
Fixed a War exploit where players could use area of effect (AoE) magic effects to capture rally points without taking damage. This should be improved by the War performance and Life Staff performance updates, but we will continue to monitor to see if issues persist.
We have fixed several known causes of players being invulnerable. This issue is a top priority for our team, and we are continuing to track down fixes for additional causes of this issue.
We have speculatively fixed the issue where players could get stuck after leaving Outpost Rush. This was a rare issue and our team was not able to reproduce it. We will continue to monitor during the rollout.

New World Update 1.5.3 downtime will begin at 11:00PM PT (6:00AM UTC) on June 14, and includes adjustments to PvP rewards.
PvP Faction Missions
Adjusted PvP faction mission rewards to better align with other activities like Arenas and Outpost Rush. Players can now focus on their favorite PvP activities with less concern over whether their time would be better spent doing one specific activity to optimize rewards.
Players will now earn 200 Salt and 350 PvP XP from each PvP faction mission. These missions previously rewarded 300 Salt and 500 PvP XP.
Great Cleave ‘Retrieve’ & ‘Control Point’ missions now offer less Salt (100) and PvP XP (200) because they take less time to complete than other missions. Players can now accept a wider variety of quests to reap the same rewards within a similar time commitment.

Fixed the emissive texture on the Brimstone Fire Staff’s molten orb.
Fixed a bug that caused the cursor to appear and mouselook to disable while in the world.

Gameplay Overview
New World is an open world MMORPG that takes place on the fictional and supernatural island of Aeternum in the 17th century. It is set in an alternate-history in the twilight of the Age of Exploration and a “supernatural frontier” that attracts adventurers seeking the source of eternal life, a mysterious substance called Azoth. Players can scavenge resources in order to survive, craft items, discover settlements, claim territories, and to somehow rebuild on Aeternum. As players explore, they discover the “Corruption”, a malevolent force that twists and warps creatures and makes them hostile. These creatures are known as “The Corrupted” and are the main NPC enemies of the game.
Character Progression
Combine skill and strength in melee combat, attack at range with precision, or master arcane attacks. However you choose to fight, you’ll need to forge, discover, and customize powerful weapons to fit your combat style. In epic wars with other players or holding back waves of The Corrupted, your combat skills will mean the difference between life and death.

There are currently 5 game modes available in New World, these game modes are special systems that are distinct from the standard gameplay. Everything You Should Know About New World
New World is an action MMORPG heavily based on combat. The basic and advanced controls will help players understand the combat mechanics of the game, although the basic combat mechanics are demonstrated during the tutorial part of the game, you can click here for more information about Combat in New World.
Different Weapon Types in New World
New World offers 13 different types of weapons. Each of these weapons fall under one of the four categories namely: One-Handed Weapons, Two-Handed Weapons, Ranged Weapons, and Magic Weapons. Swords and Shields, Rapiers, and Hatchets fall under One-Handed Weapons. War Hammers, Great Axes, and Spears fall under Two-Handed Weapons. Ranged Weapons have three namely Bows, Muskets, and Blunderbusses. Magic Weapons consists of Fire Staves, Life Staves, Ice Gauntlets, and Void Gauntlets. Each weapon type comes in different versions with different levels of rarity, players will unlock more rare drops as they level up in the game. Each weapon provides different options and approaches to combat, allowing the player to deal damage in different ways.
How Damage Types works in New World
Damage Type is an important part of combat as different enemies are vulnerable to different damage types. Choosing the right weapon will allow players to maximize their combat efficiency depending on the enemy’s weakness. There are four damage types in New World namely Slash, Thrust, Strike, and Elemental. Elemental damage is a damage type that branches out different types of elemental damage that can be used on certain weapons and perks. These elemental damage types consists of Arcane, Fire, Ice, Lightning Nature, and Void.
There are certain weapons that deal multiple types of damage depending on the abilities and attack the player uses. Take the Sword for example, this weapon can deal Slash and Thrust damage, but other weapons like War Hammers can only deal a single kind of damage. Players can equip two weapons at any given time meaning they can quickly switch between these damage types and approach an enemy as they see fit.
In combat, you’ll notice a yellow indicator will show up once you attack an enemy, this means the attack is hitting at full potential. The blue color will show up if it’s not doing much damage or if it’s weak against the enemy. Orange will show up if you manage to perform a critical hit, and white if it’s a neutral attack.
The Importance of Crafting in New World
Crafting is the ability for you to create Equipment and Items in New World and it consists of seven professions. Each of these professions are related to the type of Equipment or Item you will create including the Crafting Stations. The seven professions are: Arcana, Armoring, Cooking, Engineering, Jewelcrafting, Furnishing and Weaponsmithing. Arcana focuses on crafting Magical Weapons such as Staves. Additionally, Arcanists can craft Potions and Tinctures which are consumables that can provide a variety of effects such as health and mana restoration, buffs and removal of harmful effects such as poison. Armoring allows players to craft both Armor and Storage Bags. Cooking focuses on making Meals and Drinks which offer a large variety of boosts including warding against certain enemy types, improved health or mana recovery, bonuses to crafting yield for other Crafting skills and many more. Additionally, Cooks can craft Dyes used to color parts of Armor. Engineering is used to craft Ranged Weapons such as Bows and Muskets as well as the Ammunition for them. Jewelcrafting focuses on crafting Trinkets such as Amulets, Rings, and Earrings. Jewelcrafters can also craft Gems that can be affixed to equipment with sockets. Furnishing focuses on making Furniture, Storage and Trophies for player housing. Weaponsmithing focuses on crafting Melee Weapons such as Swords, Rapiers, Hatchets, War Hammers and Shields. You can only level up each profession by crafting. Improving a profession will allow you to unlock new recipes as well as to craft higher tier items.
Crafting Recipes are a set of ingredients you can use to create different types of Equipment and Items. Certain recipes will require you to obtain the proper ingredients as well as reach a certain level of profession.
Leveling up Crafting skills is done by continuously crafting items of the Crafting skill’s type. By leveling up a certain Crafting skill, you will unlock more recipes, as well as more powerful versions of already known ones. A higher crafting level will also provide certain bonuses depending on the skill and items crafted.
In order to craft an item, besides the required Crafting Skill, you also have to be in the right place. Settlements have most, if not all, Crafting Stations and Refining Stations available for you to use at your pleasure and level up the Skill tied to the respective Station. For example, to craft a Sword, besides having the required Weaponsmithing level demanded by the sword’s recipe and the Materials, you would also need to be at a Forge of the correspondent level.
There are five Crafting Stations in New World, these are: Forge, Workshop, Outfitting Station, Arcane Repository and Kitchen. At the Forge, you will be able to craft Weapons, Shields, and Armor. At the Workshop, would will be able to craft Tools as well as Furniture for your homes. Ranged Weapons, such as Bows and Muskets, as well as their corresponding Ammunition, can also be created at the Workshop. At the Outfitting Station, you will be able to craft a vast array of accessories, such as Amulets or Rings but also Bags and Light Armor. In the Kitchen, you will be able to prepare food to enhance their stats, heal them, or even use as bait to attract wild animals. At the Arcane Repository, you will be able to craft Magic Weapons, such as Fire Staves and Light Staves. You can also create all types of Potions at the Arcane Repository.
There are also five Refining Stations in New World, which are special buildings that process Raw Materials into Refined Materials, granting them different properties, and allowing them to be used in different Recipes or even Crafting Stations in order to create special Equipment. These five Refining Stations are: Loom, Smelter, Stonecutting Table, Tannery, and the Woodshop. At the Loom, you will be able to create Cloth Materials. These are primarily used at the Outfitting Station. At the Smelter, you are able to turn Ores into different types of Ingots. There are primarily used at the Forge to create different types of Shields, Weapons and Armor. At the Stonecutting Table, you are able to turn Raw Gems into Cutted Gems. That, once cutted, can be used to slot into different types of gear, enhancing its properties. At the Tannery, you are able to tan the skins taken from hunted animals. Once completed, they can be used during the creation of Armor or Furniture. At the Woodshop, you will be able to turn Woods into different refined materials, such as Timber. They are primarily used at the Workshop.
For Crafting skills that create consumables, increasing the skill level can improve resource efficiency, yielding more items for the same amount of ingredients. For example, a beginner Arcanist will craft Healing Tinctures at a 1:1 ratio while an advanced Arcanist will have a chance of producing more tinctures per crafting attempt. This increase in efficiency becomes more evident when bulk crafting is performed, where you can see up to a 30% increase in crafting yield for the same amount of resources.
While you’re crafting a piece of Equipment, there’s a small chance of gaining one or more Perks or an Empty Gem Socket. While these outcomes are random, you can use the special resource Azoth during the crafting process to improve the chances of getting perks, a socket or both. Additionally, there are a large amount of special resources that can be gathered in the world that, when used during the crafting process, can dictate what Perk is added to the piece of equipment. Remember that there’s no guarantee that a Perk or a Gem Socket will be added to the Equipment you are crafting but the chance will increase as your crafting skill level increases.
What are the Enemy Types in New World?
There are five different enemy types in New World, all having their own strengths and weaknesses. It is important you know the resistances and weaknesses of each enemy to know how what type of weapon or skill you need to use to counter them.
The Ancients are shown as skeletal figures that you’ll find surrounding old buildings and ruins around Aeternum. They are resistant to Fire and Slash damage but are weak against Lightning, Strike, and Void.
The Angry Earth are creatures made of wood and other natural elements from Aeternum who consider the presence of others as infection. They are resistant to Lightning and Thrust damage but are weak to Fire and Slash.
The Corrupted are one of the main antagonists in New World, they tend to show up everywhere in Aeternum. They are resistant to Ice and Strike damage but are weak against Arcane, Nature, and Thrust.
The Lost are the ghosts and undead you’ll encounter on Aeternum. They are resistant to Thrust and Void damage but are weak against Ice, Nature, and Strike.
The Beasts are the wild animals you’ll come across Aeternum and they can also be found everywhere. They can range from wolves, bears, boar, bison, wild cats, etc. They are not resistant to any type of damage but all of them are weak against Thrust damage.

We are excited to announce the release of the Expedition Group Finder!
Players can use the Group Finder to more easily form parties and complete group activities. In this article, you’ll find step by step instructions as well as an FAQ. We plan to roll out additional features in future updates.
Group Finder is an Expedition-only feature. Once you’ve discovered (visited) an Expedition, you will be able to access the Group Finder UI in one of two ways:
At the Expedition Entrance, you’ll now see a “Find Group” button. Click it to view the Group Finder for that Expedition.
On the map, there is now a “View Expedition” button on the tooltip for each Expedition Icon. Click it to reveal that Expedition’s Entrance Screen from anywhere in Aeternum and then click the “Find Group” button to use the Group Finder.
You can now also enter any Expedition regardless of your location through the map’s “View Expedition” button, even if you don’t use the Group Finder.
Note that if you’re viewing a Mutated Expedition, the “Find Group” button will select whichever Mutated Difficulty level you have selected in the list on the left. There is currently no way to view Group Lobbies for all Mutated Difficulty levels at once. That functionality is a high priority for future versions of Group Finder.
After clicking “Find Group,” you’ll see a list of Lobbies. These are different than groups. Lobbies are staging areas with a dedicated Lobby chat channel for communication. Once full, the original poster can start the Expedition and convert that Lobby into a group.
You can either apply to existing Lobbies (up to 100 at a time), or create your own. You can also leave the Group Finder UI to keep adventuring while your applications are pending and even when you’re waiting for a Lobby to fill. A widget in the top right (similar to Outpost Rush and Arena queues) will notify you of their status as you play.
Lobby creators can set the minimum Level and Gear Score for their Lobby, and inspect all players within the Applications list and the Lobby itself to see their current Level, Attributes, average Gear Score, and equipped Weapons and Mastery Scores. Each player applying to a Lobby must designate themselves as a Role (Tank, Healer, or DPS) so that the Lobby creator is able to form an ideal group composition. Once the Lobby is converted to a group and enters the Expedition, these roles are displayed on the side of the Group HUD (currently only available to groups formed through Group Finder).

Annwyn — сервер с большим онлайном русских игроков, стремящихся закрепиться на руководящих позициях; там вы найдете много кланов, pvp активностей и рейдов; именно на «Анвин» ушли многие обзорщики и хардкорные игроки; если вы готовы заходить в игру как на работу — вам сюда;
Hyperborea — настоящая «столица» русских игроков в New World; если вы хотите чувствовать себя «как дома» в англоязычной игре — вам сюда.
Какой выбрать сервер New World? Где играют русские игроки и гильдии
Прямо сейчас (до релиза 28 сентября) русскоязычные игроки выбирают сервера на которых они будут играть. Многие опытные русские игроки получили доступ и изучали игру на стадиях альфа и бета-тестированиях. Со временем получилось определить ТОП 5-7 серверов, на которых играли русские игроки. Теперь же мы выбираем из них 2-3 сервера, где будет играть большинство наших игроков уже после релиза.
ТОП-7 русских серверов New World:
Hyperborea, Asgard, Lyonesse, Hellheim, Midgard, Hades, Baltia.
По предварительной информации, большинство наших гильдий уйдут на сервер Asgard. Обычные русские игроки планируют покорять европейский сервер Hyperborea. На остальных серверах из списка выше также будут наши ребята и вы легко сможете найти там сопартийцев.

General Updates & Fixes
Fixed an issue with healing hotkeys in Group Mode that caused the players assigned to each hotkey to change during combat.
Fixed an issue with the Region Transfer button so it displays a more accurate time for when a player can transfer between regions.
Fixed an issue where a character could get locked into an error message when attempting to log in.
Added a speculative fix for an issue that caused players to sometimes encounter a respawn screen with an infinite timer and no respawn. We will continue to monitor the forums to see if players are still encountering this rare issue.
Fixed an issue that allowed some players to instantly respawn and ignore the wave respawn timers during War & Invasion game modes.
Great Axe Insatiable Gravity Well (Perk)
Fixed an issue where this perk hit enemies around the player twice (instead of once) on use.
Reduced the weapon damage of the secondary burst from 125% to 100%.
Reduced block stamina damage of the secondary burst from 150% to 70% of a player’s base stamina damage.
Reduced the lifesteal amount based on gear score from an initial range of 20% to 50% down to a range between 15% to 35%.

Нет, в игре есть специальный PvP-режим, который можно включать либо выключать, находясь в городе. Некоторые задания автоматически включают режим ПвП для игрока. Кроме того, фарм в PvP-режиме дает прибавку 10% к опыту.
Зависит ли скорость передвижения от вида брони?
Нет. Скорость бега от веса брони не меняется.
В игре есть ездовые животные?
Нет, пока что в New World нет ездовых животных. Но систему маунтов могут добавить в будущем.
Можно ли плавать на кораблях?

We’re humbled by the wonderful response, and extremely thankful for all the ways players across the globe have helped us prepare for launch. We still have some work to do before releasing New World on September 28, and the Closed Beta has helped immeasurably by testing our servers, helping us find bugs, providing us with a ton of constructive feedback, and granting many more key learnings to help our team prepare and adjust.
During Closed Beta, we ran into both server issues and over-population resulting in queue times, preventing some players from being able to experience the danger and beauty found in Aeternum. To ensure that everyone has a chance to experience New World ahead of our September 28 launch, we’re excited to announce that we will be holding an Open Beta test. The Open Beta test will utilize Steam’s new Playtest feature, which allows all interested players in our supported regions to request access to the test, for free. Servers will be available in North America, Europe, Australia and South America.
Open Beta will begin on September 9 at 7:00AM PT (2:00PM UTC) and continue until September 12 at 11:59PM PT (6:59AM UTC).
How to Access the Open Beta
We’re doing things a little differently this time around. With Open Beta there will be no Steam keys to redeem. Instead, we are using a new feature called Steam Playtest. Interested players will be able to request access beginning on September 8 at 7:00AM PT (2:00PM UTC). To request access, follow these steps:

Yes, during the Open Beta test you are allowed to share, record, or broadcast Beta content or gameplay. However, aspects of New World may change between Open Beta and launch, which may cause captured footage to become outdated. Check out our Content Usage Policy to learn more.
Is the Open Beta server capacity indicative of launch server capacity?
Open Beta is an important test for our server infrastructure and will feature a higher server capacity than the Closed Beta, but will not represent the full server capacity available at launch. Players may experience queue times during the Open Beta test.
Will my Open Beta progress be carried over to launch?
No, there will be a progress wipe between Open Beta and launch.
What has changed in New World between Closed Beta and Open Beta?

Our official forums are the best place to communicate directly with the folks making the game and other players. One of the first things to do before jumping into New World is to set up a Forum account.

First, head to forums.newworld.com and click the Sign Up button in the top right corner
Next, follow the steps to log in to your Amazon account.
After entering your account information, you will be taken to a confirmation screen. Select “Allow.”
You will then be taken back to the Forum landing page where you will need to enter your Username. We suggest you choose something close to your in-game name, so people can recognize you.
Once you have entered a suitable Username, you will be taken to the Welcome Page. Click your avatar in the top right corner and then on your Username and select “Preferences.”
Scroll down until you see “Associated Accounts” and click the “Connect” button next to Steam.
Follow the prompts to verify connecting your Steam account to your New World Forum account.
Once you have finished that, you are now able to experience the New World Forums!

Restricted Coin Lockboxes earned from the Tree of Light to players level 14 and above to coincide with when Event Quests are enabled for players. This change was implemented to discourage bad actors from repeatedly creating new characters in an attempt to exploit the availability of coin.
Reduced the amount of characters that can be created per day per account.
Fixed an issue causing Azoth balances to not update after fast traveling or crafting. Azoth balances should now adjust to show the amount spent when traveling or crafting.
Fixed an issue that caused potions to drop at multiple gear scores resulting in inventory stacking issues.
To enable a level playing field for players, we reset the faction cooldown time for all players. Once players choose or change a faction the duration of the cooldown will be set to 60 days.
Fixed an issue that occasionally caused the “Weavers Needed” Town Project mission for the Winter Convergence to not be completed if attempting to craft in Everfall.

Всего в игре три фракции:
Отличия между фракциями сугубо косметические, и на геймплей они не влияют. У каждой из них своя предыстория, собственные комплекты брони и, разумеется, своя территория, которую они контролируют. Если вы играете один, то стоит постараться примкнуть к самой сильной фракции. Чем больше у неё подконтрольной земли, тем большие бонусы будут получать её представители. На каждом сервере своя сильная фракция, поэтому перед вступлением в одну из них стоит изучить карту и определить лидера.
Однако если вы играете с друзьями, то желательно, чтобы вы все вступили в одну фракцию. В этом случае вы сможете сражаться вместе в PvE и PvP-режимах, и вам будет проще координировать свои действия.
Как выбрать фракцию в New World. Как сменить (поменять) фракцию в New World
Вступить во фракцию вам предложат сразу после окончания обучения. К тому времени у вас будет примерно 10-й уровень. Сменить одну из них на другую можно только через 120 дней за 100 монет. Однако в этом случае выбора уже не будет — вы сможете присоединиться только к той фракции, которой принадлежит меньше всего территорий.
При желании вы можете не вступать ни в одну из существующих фракций. Правда, в этом случае вы не получите приятные бонусы на определённых территориях, а часть дополнительных заданий будет вам недоступна. Если вы решили пойти по этому пути, просто закройте меню выбора фракции, когда оно всплывёт.

Как повысить репутацию внутри фракции в New World
Когда вы вступите во фракцию, у вас появится возможность повышать собственную репутацию. Чем она выше, тем больше товаров доступно во фракционном магазине. Всего в игре пять рангов репутации:
В качестве примера мы привели звания для фракции «Мародёры». У «Синдиката» и «Ковенанта» ранги называются по-другому, но условия получения такие же.
Очки репутации вы будете получать за фракционные PvE-задание, PvP-квесты и просто сражения с другими игроками. Убивать новичков не имеет смысла — наибольшее число очков вы получите, если будете побеждать в поединках с равными соперниками или теми, кто сильнее вас.
Фракционные задания выдаёт её представитель, который есть в любом крупном городе. Если они закончились — двигайтесь в другой город и ищите такого же NPC. У него будет новый комплект квестов для вас.
Как повысить уровень (ранг, влияние) фракции в New World
Победитель в борьбе за спорные территории выявляется по ходу выполнения PvP-миссий. К ним относятся разведка территории, доставка сообщения или предмета, убийство определённых животных и так далее. Во время их прохождения вы уязвимы не только перед мобами, но и перед живыми игроками. Если вас убьют по ходу прохождения PvP-задания, то оно будет считаться проваленным, даже если вы выполнили поставленные условия, но просто не успели сдать задание квестодателю.
Обычно награда за выполнение PvP-квестов в 2-3 раза выше, чем за аналогичные PvE-задания. К тому же, помимо опыта и золота, вы получите очки влияния вашей фракции на этой территории. Как только у обороняющейся стороны окажется недостаточно очков влияния, земля будет доступна для захвата другой фракцией. После этого вы сможете принять участие в битве за форт, которая и определит владельца данной территории.
Обратим внимание на то, что сильной фракции сложнее осуществлять захват новых территорий и защищать уже имеющиеся. К тому же, она чаще подвержена вторжению Осквернённых, отдельной стороны конфликта, враждебной ко всем игрокам.
