There are only 5 rules to abide by while posting:

✘ Receiving Codes: If you got a code, please edit your original comment saying so. Just in case so people don’t keep sending you more!
✘ Offering Codes: If you post a group of codes, once they’re all taken, edit the comment and remove them (or mark off already used ones)!
✘ Posting Multiple Times: Limit your posts to once per page regardless of whether you are giving/asking for codes, this is to give others a chance to be seen.
✘ ‘Reserving’ Codes: Please don’t lie about having taken a public code as a means of ‘reserving’ them. Only post if you’re 100% sure your friend has taken it!
✘ Unsolicited Messages: Unless a user has specified that it’s ok to dm them for a code, sending messages to other users asking or begging for codes is prohibited.

These aren’t rules, but rather suggestions to help you out!:

✔ If looking for a code, say how many you need, to avoid multiple posts in a row.
✔ I’d suggest telling whoever is wanting to join to use their code asap. Lots don’t like hanging onto unused codes!
✔ If posting codes, regularly check your invitations list to which have been used, this prevents people from having to ping or message you when they use one.
✔ I would also say it’s preferable to PM codes as majority of the time people snipe them.

If you have seen someone breaking the rules or have received unsolicited messages from a user, please let me know with proof. If you have been scammed by a user, consider posting to the service reviews forum and messaging me with a link to the thread. PSAs with enough proof will allow me to ban them from this thread. The following is a blacklist of users who have scammed users in the past. These users are prohibited from posting in this thread offering/seeking Toyhouse codes.

Invite codes are, on rare occasion, given out when the site feels it’s ready for new users. More commonly however, users who pay for ‘Premium’, the site’s premium service that gives you a few extra perks, will get 2 invite codes each week, which they can then give to others to allow them to make accounts. Users may also use codes to make additional or alternate accounts, such as an account for a community, adoptables, or just another account to store different characters on for the same person.

DO NOT SEND UNSOLICITED DMS, COMMENTS, OR COMMUNICATIONS ASKING FOR CODES.
What does this mean? It means if someone has not made it expressly clear that they are giving out codes and want you to message them, do not assume that it is ok to message them asking for one. This also includes ‘suggestions’ or ‘questions’ that are a thinly veiled way of asking for codes (eg. «can you help me get a code?). This is also not limited to dms or pms. Commenting on their page, seeking them offsite, emailing them, or using any other form of communication to reach out to a user is not acceptable. Not to me, not to anyone on this thread, and especially not to any random user on toyhouse or offsite. Doing so continually constitutes harassment. Always make sure someone has made it clear that it is ok to message them asking for a code before you ask for one.

Since so many people are looking for a way to obtain a sign-up code for Toyhou.se and they can be a bit annoying to track down, here’s a way to find them that works most of the time.

Please note that I don’t have any codes, so I can’t provide you with any.

Now, what is Toyhou.se?

Toyhou.se is a site that focuses on OC profiles and adoptables. You can host your character profiles on there and have an unlimited amount of uploadable picture on each profile, making it ideal to collect all details on your characters. It has built-in trading feature and an active community on the forums. You can check out my profile and characters here.

The site uses sign-up codes as it started off as a personal project that accidentally got really big, and to avoid the servers being flooded a code is needed to sign up.

How to obtain sign-up codes?

So, how do you get codes?

▶︎ This thread. It was made just to give out codes. You can search for a user commenting that they have codes, go to their profile, and see if they have links to other sites that you can contact them on. This is by far the most efficient method.

▶︎ Search for people who give away codes for free on DeviantART. You can always search the journals section until you find a person that gives them out for free.

▶︎ Look on Tumblr. The Toyhouse and Toyhou.se tags are really good for codes but have slowed down a lot lately. It’s also filled with people trying to get art and money in exchange for codes, which you should stay far away from. You have a bigger chance finding a code in the above two points than here.

▶︎ If all else fails, try to Google search ‘free Toyhou.se code’. Here you may have to deal with old journals, but it can be a last resort.

If none of the above yield any results, I suggest checking that thread again every few days to see if anyone new posts there. If you have a friend on Toyhou.se, you’re also more likely to get something if they post on that forum. Most people get a code within the day like this.

IMG METHOD

Using the img tag is relatively simple. This will insert the image like so! However, doing this alone will insert it at its default size. I’d recommend styling it with style=»height: #px; width: #px; To make the text wrap around the image, use the float-left/right class.

CARD METHOD

This is my favorite method of inserting images, since they automatically size themselves. You’ll learn more about cards later on, but for now, this is the code I recommend using to make images with them.

PADDING is the amount of space on the INSIDE of an element, MARGIN is the space around the OUTSIDE of an element.

CONTAINERS

Containers come with their own default padding of 16px on both the left and right. To get rid of this padding, add your own padding class.

In addition to this, in order to make layouts mobile friendly, you should specify what size the column appears on certain sized screens, using: col-lg-#, col-md-#, col-sm-#, col-xs-#.
