Co-op Rules

— The entirety of the run (from time start to end) must be done on a external server or while Open to LAN
— F3+I is a banned F3 function in co-op
— The only cheats allowed in co-op are /time set 0 at the beginning of the run, and /difficulty for being able to change difficulties
— Setting difficulty to peaceful is not allowed unless specified. We recommend not using the difficulty button in the settings menu
— Any user with cheats enabled must be recording

Не проходит и недели, чтобы в мире спидраннеров Minecraft не случалось какое-нибудь крупное событие. Будь то новые рекорды, драма и читерские скандалы, открытие новых техник и тактик — последние два месяца стали одними из лучших за все существование спидранов Minecraft.

В связи с этим, неудивительно, что популярность спидранов Minecraft остается на высоте — как со стороны самих геймеров, так и зрителей. Тем более, что новые рекорды устанавливают так быстро, что модераторы, порой, не успевают проверить их.

Однако на фоне всего этого особое внимание привлек относительно малоизвестный спидраннер TwoLetterName, который смог побить мировой рекорд дважды в течение всего 12 часов. Это действительно впечатляющее достижение, возможно, единственное в своем виде, по крайней мере на сегодня.

Спидраны Minecraft фиксируются на сайте speedrun.com, где существуют различные категории, но самая популярная по Minecraft версии 1.16, где не разрешается использовать баги и глитчи. В этой категории TwoLetterName и смог поставить рекорды. До этого рекорд был за Illumina с временем 13 минут 53 секунды.

Достижение Illumina было серьезным делом в сообществе, так как впервые удалось преодолеть отметку в 14 минут. Кроме того во время прохождения не использовался экран дебага, где отображаются координаты игрока и различные параметры, которые спидраннеры используют для своих забегов. До Illumina никому не удалось поставить такой рекорд без дебаг-экрана.

Этот рекорд был поставлен 24 февраля, продержавшись день, пока TwoLetterName не представил свое время — всего на 1 секунду быстрее. Но прежде чем модераторы смогли верифицировать первый забег, TwoLetterName опубликовал еще один рекорд — 12 минут и 9 секунду. Он сократил свое время на 1 минуту 36 секунд, что рассматривается как невероятное достижение. Особенно, если учесть, что в начале года время менее 20 минут рассматривалось, как невозможное.

Что выделяет забеги TwoLetterName — геймер не только побил рекорд подряд, но и то, что он был почти неизвестен среди спидраннеров. Естественно, удача была на стороне геймера, но для достижения такого результата, требовалось правильно распорядиться условиями, что возможно только после долгой практики и оттачивания знаний.

Остается лишь гадать, каким будет следующий мировой рекорд среди спидраннеров Minecraft.

This was definitely a new experience. I had a lot of fun, but also a lot of headaches when trying to beat this record. I might start live streaming stuff like this in the future, although for now this was mostly a personal challenge for myself. It was a great feeling after all of the failure to come out with a success.

Но если Вы такой же ботаник, как и мы (а это точно, поскольку Вы читаете новости об игре), то Вашей традицией обязательно станет просмотр мероприятия Summer Games Done Quick, где лучшие спидраннеры планеты соревнуются в прохождении игр на скорость.

Чтобы игроки имели представление о том, как Minecraft проходят на скорость, проведем небольшую инструкцию. Спидран разделен на несколько режимов.

Первый вид спидрана называется any%. Здесь игроки проходят игру, используя любые инструменты, которые только смогут отыскать. К этим способам относятся и ошибки игры.

Теперь, когда Вы стали экспертом в спидране, поговорим с игроком Illumina.

Интервьюер: Когда Вы начали спидран в Minecraft?

Интервьюер: Как развилась тема спидрана в игре? Способствовали ли этому Ваши выступления на SGDQ?

Illumina: Определенно. Когда игрок Bismuth прошел игру с собственным сидом, удивлению сообщества не было предела. Затем начали появляться другие игроки, например, BastiGHG, который прошел игру с ошибками, что тоже поразило пользователей. Затем игрок tarokitchen прошел игру со случайным сидом и багами. Так несколько игроков способствовали тому, чтобы развить тему спидрана во всем сообществе.

Интервьюер: В твоем прохождении, тебе сильно везет. Как ты это делаешь?

Обычно, портал в Нижний Мир создается из лавы и воды, но этот сид позволил ускорить процесс. Портал находился рядом со спаунером ифритов, поэтому этот сид стал одним из самых крутых в плане генерации Нижнего Мира. Большая удача встретить такой сид на прохождении в SGDQ.

Интервьюер: Во время прохождения ты не забывал показывать свои скины. Откуда они?

Illumina: Скины были получены мной на Minecon 2015, где меня так же пригласили на спидран.

Illumina: Мне нравится мод Diversity 2 или кастомные пользовательские карты. Это хорошая смена темпа и везения. Немодифицированные категории особенны по-своему: люблю проходить случайные сиды без ошибок. Нравится придумывать маршрут прямо на ходу, даже если сегодня фортуна от тебя убежала.

Интервьюер: У тебя есть собственный мировой рекорд на немодифицированных картах, верно?

Illumina: Да, мне принадлежит рекорд на случайных сидах со сбоями. Но я предпочитаю играть без них, поскольку это больше приближено к реальной игре.

Интервьюер: Какой твой любимый баг игры?

Illumina: Больше всего мне нравится пропускать сражение с драконом. Это делается очень просто: нужно поместить кристалл Края сразу после входа в измерение. Тогда дракон не спаунится, а портал появляется. Такой трюк облегчает сражение с драконом, которое теперь стало сложнее.

Интервьюер: Каким было путешествие от начала до мировых рекордов?

Illumina: Раньше не было игроков, которые спидранили, поэтому мое путешествие начиналось совсем не так, как это происходит у новых игроков. Я начинал, основываясь исключительно на навыках PvP. В начале моего пути было лишь пару игроков, с которыми мы соревновались.

Runs which use the SpeedRunIGT mod will utilize those times primarily, with adjustments made in case some minor bugs are found, or in cases of time removal for significant in-game lag. Top RSG run retiming will also use the splits given by the mod to calculate final board time. You may use the option to only show 0-2 decimal places, but you must submit with the full 3 decimal places. Copy and pasting the text within «igt_timer.log» (in the saves folder for the PB) into your run submission description is encouraged.

For the DynamicFPS mod, only the version linked in the detailed mod rules document is allowed.

Save reversion and time travel are both glitches defined by crashing the game in order to revert the in-game time, as well as to a previous world state. Time travel reverts the in-game time whilst modifying the world. Glitches such as (but not limited to) chest loot resetting, scouting, and mob drop resetting are disallowed in non time travel categories, however glitches such as duplication are still allowed. You also cannot use the Fast Reset mod button (menu.quitworld) during a run, as it also can cause time travel.

For runners utilizing the Autoreset mod, the «Stop resets and quit» button within the options menu must be shown at least once during the run, otherwise logs for the PB session must be provided

Save reversion is not allowed in the glitched categories which do not allow time travel

Any program or macro which screen reads is not allowed, and any attempt to get around this rule will not be tolerated (i.e. taking a screenshot and a program reading from that, etc. would not be allowed). Other tools which utilize mathematical functions or macros to utilize a calculator or spreadsheet which do not interact with the game is allowed.

All runs must be begun within 5 minutes of world generation

Runs with long pauses will now be judged by verification team discretion. As long as the runner does not have any significant periods of inactivity and the run is otherwise okay, there is no strict hard line.

The old pre1.9 RSG co-op spawn finder is no longer allowed (this will not affect runs currently in queue)

Compact F3 can no longer be used.

Smooth world must be off, and you may not disable weather

Runs from known cheaters will be rejected immediately and not reviewed for verification. People may appeal this status if there is some exceptional circumstance such as them coming to us to confess before being caught, or positive presence in the community following previous minor offenses

If a custom language is used in a way which provides a clear advantage to the run (such as through crafting book searches), your run may be rejected

Mark your run as “F3” if you used the F3 menu, the Optifine FPS display, or any F3 hotkey

Advanced tooltips (F3+h) and render distance (F3+f) debug features are now considered F3 usage for future runs

For any categories that do not explicitly allow segmentation, if the world is quit for any reason other than working around a bug/glitch, the run will be rejected without exception.

Clarification for multi-instance:

Playing the game (not including menuing to reset) in any other instance invalidates the current run

— You may segment all advancement runs, so long as you show yourself both exiting the world, and rejoining it. Additionally you may not use the same instance of minecraft (game directory) to play between sessions.

— If the run is segmented, the log file(s) from the instance must also be submitted

Clarified AA Co-op Rules:

— If the run is segmented you must submit your server log files as well

— Runs may be segmented, but the server folder may not be used for other purposes between sessions.

— Top Level RSG Timing Rules

Top level timing rules are now lowered to sub-20 in 1.9-1.15.

For runs which are sub-13 in 1.16+, sub-20 in 1.9-1.15, and sub-23 in Pre 1.9; any pause which is not an initial load into a given location or a settings change will have the full duration of the pause timed. Runners may still request a pause to be untimed.

— Rules for Any% Glitchless Demo

Any% Glitchless Demo can now be played through the regular (non-demo) client, so long as the seed «North Carolina» (-343522682) is used, the starter chest is enabled, and the run is no longer than 1:40:25 (100 minutes 25 seconds) IGT.

4 function calculators are no longer banned.

«You must show either the title screen or the F3 menu before or after your run

«You must show the Full F3 screen either during the run or immediately after».

as a further requirement for runs in any% RSG which are sub-13 in 1.16, sub-20 in 1.9-1.15, and sub-23 in pre1.9.

Added the following clarification for this rule as well:

— Runs which must submit gameplay audio may do so either through the main submission video or a linked separate video.

— Due to the length of runs, submissions in this category are required to include the world file of the run to assist with verification, either in the description or to the Google form

— New splits are SS, RS, SSG, RSG, and Purist (RSG HC No F3)

The current splits will be moved into the new categories in the coming future, please excuse board mismatch for the time being as this occurs.

Clarifying rule has been added to the category:

You may play either purist or non-purist in category splits aside from All Portals Purist.

(As an example to clarify, SSG would include HC, Survival, F3, and No F3 runs)

— Added any% (Time Travel), a new category, under the misc tab.

— You may not time travel in glitched categories unless otherwise specified in its category rules.

— Runs which are sub-7 require world files and evidence of past attempts.

Combined RSG was renamed to Combined Any% Glitchless and split into Set Seed and Random Seed. Any runner who has a verified run in all three version splits (Pre 1.9, 1.9-1.15, 1.16+) for either RSG or SSG will have their times automatically combined and put on the board

Runs which are sub-17 in 1.16+ require world files and evidence of past attempts

Changed RSG timing rule standards to:

Runs which are sub-23 in pre1.9 are to be timed under the new timing rules

— A macro may be used during the scouting period, for the following commands only: /tp, /locate, /setblock, and /gamemode. Any other use of macros may result in the run being rejected.

— No commands may be executed outside of the chat (e.g. command blocks).

Updated general submission rules:

— Mark your run as “F3” if you used the F3 menu, the Optifine FPS display, or any F3 hotkey other than F3+H or F3+F

Since F3+F can be used to change the render distance, something that can also be achieved by changing settings, using this hotkey will not disallow a run from being marked as «No F3»

— Use only one world

— If you open multiple instances of Minecraft, they must each be in unique directories so they cannot influence each other in any way.

— Each instance must be shown in recording. If official submitted video does not have each instance being shown, a separate video must ALSO be submitted showing each instance.

Updated RSG Submission rules to account for multi-instancing

Previous world files and logs should be submitted from the instance of Minecraft in which the run was completed. We may request world files and/or logs from other instances, if other instances of Minecraft were being run at the same time.

Automatic reset macros are allowed in Set Seed categories.

Clarification: Automatic reset macros refer to a macro that automatically resets undesirable spawn locations without player inputs.

— The Minescreeper board must be 8 tiles by 25 tiles starting from when the first tile is revealed to when the game is completed. This can be achieved by using the default windowed resolution of 856×482.

— Previously submitted 15w14a Win Minescreeper runs using a different board size or window skip will be moved to Any% over the following days

— Do not alter options.txt to circumvent the bounds on them set by the game with the following exceptions:

— Gamma, which can be set up to 5.0

All runs must be begun within 5 minutes of world generation.

-sub-25 runs must submit world files

-sub-23 runs must submit world files and logs

-sub-23 runs must submit world files

-sub-20 runs must submit world files and logs

-sub-20 runs must submit world files and evidence of past attempts

-sub-13 runs must submit world files, evidence of past attempts, previous world files (5 preferable), and logs

You may also be asked to submit:

-A full raw recording of run

-The editing files from whatever program you edited the video on

We may request any additional evidence should we believe it to be necessary for ensuring the legitimacy of your run.

Please don’t delete anything until your run has been verified; it may be useful to help ensure its legitimacy. If you have any questions, please open a ticket in the discord immediately after your run so we may get in contact with you to help assist you in providing any evidence you need.

We will be manually moving runs over the course of this week. The leaderboard may look odd as we move the runs over.

— A boss is counted as killed if it dies as a result of the player’s actions

— For example, an elder guardian suffocating due to spawning inside of a block would not count

— It must be possible to unambiguously confirm the boss died. If it isn’t clear from the video, you need to provide world files so we can confirm.

— The statistics menu, progress towards the monsters hunted advancement, visually seeing the death animation, and subtitles all count as ways to confirm a death from video.

Previously accepted glitchless runs will be removed retroactively from the Glitched leaderboards over the following days

The first 5 seconds of setting change pauses will not be timed. Any obvious abuse of this system will be subjected to time added on (for example, changing FOV by 1 frequently to get free pauses)

1.14 retiming will be for sub-25 because in this version ranking by pure IGT is inaccurate as shown in the comparison to the old retiming method (which was RTA-Loads-Pauses-impeding lag)

For runs not under the threshold such as sub-14s, if the runner believes most of their pause time wouldn’t be counted under the standard used for top runs, they can request a retime.

Seed must be run after 10 minutes of scouting.

After 10 minutes RTA, the runner must save and quit, and immediately recreate the same world in survival mode, no cheats, and default gamerules.

Any texture pack is allowed for the scouting segment but should be de-activated after the scouting segment before save and quitting.

/datapacks must be run at the end of the run.

If the scouting segment goes past 10 minutes the excess time will be added to the leaderboard time.

SRG No /seed specific rules:

/seed cannot be executed

No external program may be used.

SRG /seed specific rules:

/seed can be executed at any point in the 10 minute scouting segment.

Any external programs may be used that are not a mod or client of the game.

Runs which are sub-13 in 1.16+, sub-20 in 1.9-1.15, and sub-24 in pre1.9, will follow a stricter guideline for pausing, retimed by us as follows: All other pauses longer than 10 seconds will be shortened to 10 seconds, and pauses shorter than 10 seconds will be unchanged and timed. Dimension change pauses will be untimed. You may request other specific pauses be untimed so long as you provide a reason, the length of the pause, and it’s timestamp. Some reasons may include mental health concerns (such as panic attacks), irl interruptions which couldn’t be reasonably avoided, and other reasonings that involve things that are beyond the runners control. The pause must also make sense for the reasoning given, e.g. if you have short and frequent pauses and your reasoning was an irl disturbance and asked to remove all of the pauses, it may not be accepted.

Math pauses will not be counted as distinct any longer and will follow under these rules as a normal pause.

This will affect any run submitted more than 5 days after this announcement, and previous runs will not be affected.

Ideally, we are working on a timer of some sort which can time these systems automatically, but we are not sure when that will happen, so as of now the retiming for top runs will be done manually.

Speedrunning is the art of finishing a game as quickly as you can. With Minecraft, the game finishes when you defeat the Ender Dragon by going to the End Portal. A lot of gamers have mastered speedrunning, and often keep trying to break their own world records!

There are tons of categories for speedrunning records — ranging from glitchless with a set seed or glitchless with a random seed. All these categories have their own sets of world records, all of which keep changing almost every day, since someone makes a new record!

In this article, we look at the speedrun record-holders in the Any% Glitchless with a Random Seed category in Minecraft 1.16. Let’s hope that while you’re reading, the top five list remains the same!

Minecraft: who holds the speedrun world record?

1) Korbanoes

In-game time: 14 minutes 56 seconds

About a week ago, the world record for speedrunning in the Any% glitchless with random seed category was broken by a Minecraft player from Michigan, USA, called Korbanoes.

The player spawned in a random world with the seed 3174965048156339597 and managed to finish the game in a record time of 14 minutes and 56 seconds! Due to the new feature of Piglin trading, Ender eyes were easy to acquire, and the player spawned close to a Nether fortress to help with managing time.

2) Dimaex

In-game time: 17 minutes 26 seconds

While playing in the Vanilla version of the game, on easy difficulty, Dimaex managed to beat the Ender Dragon in 17 minutes and 26 seconds. The gamer got lucky with a village right by spawn and managed to breeze through the Nether to defeat the game.

3) realbenex

In-game time: 19 minutes 20 seconds

A gamer from Germany, realbenex, is a mind-blowing Minecraft player who has managed to secure the third position in the Any% glitchless with a random seed category in Minecraft 1.16.

The most astonishing part about his run is that he completed the game without the help of a village, which is where most Minecraft speedrunners go to help acquire iron and beds. This Minecraft player, however, ended up crafting beds to take down the Dragon.

4) DreamWasTaken

In-game time: 19 minutes 24 seconds

We doubt that Dream needs any introduction to the Minecraft community. He is widely known to be one of the most popular Minecraft YouTubers, responsible for the viral series Minecraft Manhunt.

But when Dream is not busy confusing friends and tricking them in hilarious ways, he is a Minecraft speedrunner who is currently placed fourth in this category. He managed to finish the game in 19 minutes and 24 seconds. This speedrun record was made just today, interestingly!

5) Couriway

In-game time: 19 minutes 28 seconds

Couriway, a Minecraft YouTuber from Florida, USA, is known for securing the fifth position in the Any% glitchless speedrun with a random seed.

С самого начала стоит отметить, что удачное скоростное прохождение Minecraft в категории Any% Random сильно зависит от персональной удачливости игрока. Быстрый успех в нескольких этапах спидрана полностью определяется божественным рандомом. Например, нужно обменять золото у Пиглинов, которые с вероятностью 4,7% вернут игроку Жемчуг Края, использующийся для постройки портала в финальную локацию игры. То же самое — с Жезлами Огня, которые случайно выпадают из нескольких боссов с вероятностью 50%.

А вот игроку с ником Dream как-то слишком подозрительно везло — причём несколько раз подряд. Жемчужины в шести прохождениях он получал с вероятностью 16% (42 из 262), а Жезлы Огня — с вероятностью 69% (211 из 305). Сложно доказать чью-то излишнюю везучесть, но это смогли сделать представители портала Minecraft Speedrunning. Путём математических расчётов они вычислили, что вероятность такого везения равняется одному шансу из двадцати секстиллионов (2х10 22 ). Кажется, что это, мягко говоря, почти невозможно.

Тогда ситуацию разобрал канал Stand-Up Maths на YouTube — на куда более наглядном примере. Оказалось, что если бы 10 миллиардов людей один раз в секунду в течение сотни лет решали бы теоретическую задачу, то они смогли бы получить результат в 3х10 19 случайных испытаний. И это слишком широкая область, которая не гарантирует точное попадание в нужный результат, но не исключает возможность его возникновения с низким шансом. Спидраннер Dream долго пытался опровергнуть эти расчёты и даже прибег к помощи консалтинговой компании Photoexcitation, но в конце концов признался в читерстве — он использовал моды.

Minecraft is a game that is loved by all speedrunners. If you’re new to speedrunning, it is when players attempt to finish a game as quickly as possible. In Minecraft’s case, beating the Ender Dragon is the feat you must accomplish to finish the game. Speedrunning is so popular that its records keep changing every few weeks.

A gamer called Curcuit has a worldwide record of beating the game within 1 minute and 55 seconds. However impossible it may seem, Curcuit did accomplish this wonder in the Hardcore difficulty of Minecraft, but with the help of inevitable glitches.

Top 5 Minecraft speedrunning records in August 2020

#1 MinecrAvenger

At the top of the Minecraft speedrun chain is the gamer, MinecrAvenger. He has managed to finish the game in a whopping 3 minutes and 6 seconds. He broke the record only six days ago, in the 1.14.4 version of Minecraft and on Normal difficulty.

The gamer expertly spawns near a village, pillages, and loots enough beds from it to take down the Ender Dragon and then finally portals through the Nether to reach the End.

#2 RadVR

Losing by only 12 seconds, RadVR comes in second place with her incredible speedrun that lasted for only 3 minutes and 18 seconds.

RadVR played on the Easy difficulty of the 1.14.4 version of the game. Again spawning in the same seed as MinecrAvenger, she grabbed a handful of beds from the village and used Nether portals to jump to the End and defeat the Ender Dragon.

#3 Ontricus

Ontricus is another gamer who beat Minecraft in an incredibly short span. Even though the seed for each gamer remains the same, Ontricus defeated the Ender Dragon in only 3 minutes and 25 seconds, losing out by a few seconds.

However, his speedrun is extremely impressive, especially the speed and skill with which he accomplishes the feat.

#4 VisionXS

Finishing at the 4th place of the fastest speedruns in Minecraft, VisionXS is another very adept player who managed to crack the game in 3 minutes and 45 seconds.

Even though VisionXS hopped around with dexterity and defeated the game in record time, the gamer himself hates this specific seed and believes that he could have done it faster.

For those coming back to this from hearing that this (or other runs on my channel) were not verified, that’s false! Minecraft speed runs with random seeds can be incredibly frustrating due to their inherent randomness. Thankfully, you can speed run with seed codes to compete in the set seed speed run category. This will let you practice a speed run on a specific seed multiple times. You can do this to climb to the top of the set seed category or use it as consistent practice for your random seed runs. This guide will highlight the best Minecraft speed run seeds and what each of them offers.

Best Minecraft speed run seeds

Current world record seed

Hailed by many as the best speed running seed in the game currently, this seed spawns you into a massive town directly adjacent to a broken Nether portal. Next to the Nether portal is a Chest full of resources you can use during your speed run. On top of all of this, the portal will teleport you directly into a fortress, allowing you to collect blaze rods immediately. There is also a stronghold nearby for an End portal.

Desert Temple

Seed: 1955471898

This Desert Biome seed will spawn you directly next to a desert temple. Inside the temple lies iron and gold to aid you on your adventure. And if this wasn’t good enough already, there’s also a village nearby that will give you the beds you need to fight the Ender Dragon.

Large village on the sea

Seed: 3740645539312026983

You start off this seed in a very large village that will kickstart your resources beautifully. Across the water channel is a broken Nether portal with a Chest filled with plenty of Obsidian nearby.

Mansion, lava, and more

A mansion is a fantastic structure for gathering resources, and this seed has one right outside the spawn. And if you need gold, the mansion is conveniently located next to a Mesa Biome. After running this seed a few times, you will quickly realize how a Mesa Biome, a mansion, and surface lava all combine to create a fantastic seed for speedrunning.

Nether portal in a woodland village

Seed: 2483313382402348964

This seed starts you in a wooded area that has a village and broken down Nether portal in it. There are plenty of nearby chests to give you enough Obsidian to jump into the Nether and explore a bastion remnant.

Perfect portal

Although it’s not the flashiest seed, this one spawns you next to an almost complete Nether portal. And if you make your way over to coordinates (17,69,-350), you will see some surface lava waiting for you. Creating a portal on top of the surface lava will take you directly into a fortress connected to a Piglin camp.

Savanna village

Seed: 6254448515498253750

On this world, you spawn into a mashup area of a savanna and desert biome. In the nearby village here, you will have Blacksmith Villagers available to help you get the proper equipment you need to travel into the Nether.

Shipwreck and good spot for the Nether

Seed: 8767524212631430171

Starting out, you have a shipwreck nearby your spawn on this world, and nothing else seems to be that important. However, if you get a Nether portal made, you will teleport to a Nether Fortress and Bastion remnant.

Shipwreck and good spot for the Nether part two

Similar to the last entry, this seed will spawn you in an area close to a shipwreck to get some decent starting resources. There is also an underwater ravine nearby that is a perfect spot to travel into the Nether and find a bastion remnant.

Village and nether portal

Seed: 9009759197830545823

This seed is like the world record seed but varies slightly. It spawns you near a trench and a village. Head over to the village and collect beds and resources from the chests. Then jump into the trench where an almost complete nether portal awaits you.

10 Best Speedrun Seeds for Minecraft

Unlike most sandbox games, Minecraft has a competitive community. It means that people are trying to build the best, craft the smartest, and finish the game fastest. Focusing on only the final element of the mix, we have a collection to help you find out the best speedrun seed for Minecraft’s survival world. These seeds are chosen to keep both the Nether realm and the overworld in mind. We have personally tested each seed in the list in Minecraft version 1.17.1. Some of them have the best strongholds, while the others feature some of the best loot. We are covering seeds and key location coordinates, for both Minecraft Java and Bedrock editions in this article. Now, unless you plan to use the best Minecraft mods, there’s no faster way to beat Minecraft beyond these best speedrun seeds.

Best Minecraft Seed for Speedrunning (2021)

Speedrunning seeds in Minecraft are always exciting to try. But if you are planning to make a record using any of these seeds, keep in mind that most of the community doesn’t count custom seeds in speedrunning records. Nevertheless, you can try out the seeds that interest you using the table below.

Best Speedrun Seeds for Minecraft Java Edition

These seeds are the best for speedrunning Minecraft on any device that supports the Java Edition. You can even install and run Minecraft Java on Chromebooks to use the following seeds. With that out of the way, let’s jump right in!

1. Rarest End Portal

If you are only going to try one speedrun seed for Minecraft, we suggest you pick this one. It is almost impossible to come across an End Portal with more than 4 eyes of Ender. But this seed gives us a working 12-eyed End Portal, which is activated from the moment we spawn into this world. It means that you can skip the Nether realm altogether. All you need to do is get some weapons and grab some explosive beds from a village to fight the Ender Dragon.

To keep you covered in terms of loot and beds, we spawn close to a Ruined portal and a village. Then, the rare Ender Portal isn’t more than 1000 blocks away from the village. A skilled player can speedrun this seed within 5-6 minutes, making it one of the fastest Minecraft speedrun seeds out there. Meanwhile, the current world record is 9+ minutes.

2. Best Spawn Island Minecraft Seed

Major support that players get in survival Minecraft is from villages. This seed gives us one of the best village spawn ever. You spawn on an island that has three villages and a shipwreck. The shipwreck also has a buried treasure map, but I wouldn’t suggest looking for the treasure during a speedrun. As for the villages, you can find almost all types of villagers to help you with the resources.

3. The 2 Minute Seed

Yes, you read that right. This seed practically holds the ability to speedrun the game in just 2-3 minutes and is the fastest Minecraft seed for speedrunning. In many ways, this seed feels like a custom edit of the existing 12-eyed seed. So, the best thing about this seed is that it offers you a 12-eyed Ender Portal merely a thousand blocks from our spawn village. But that’s not all.

4. Instant Gateway to Nether

the next best Minecraft seed for speedrunning spawns you next to an almost complete Nether portal. All it needs are 2 more obsidian blocks. Fortunately, the village right behind the Nether portal has an ironsmith’s chest with 6 obsidian. The same village will also provide you with the rest of the essential resources, including food, for your adventure.

5. Smallest Stronghold and Lucky Spawn

This seed might not be for every player, but it can do wonders in hands of skilled veterans. Let’s break down what all this seed on our list of best Minecraft speedrun seeds has to offer. We spawn next to a Ruined portal, and you only need one obsidian block to turn it into a Nether Portal. And well, you can find obsidian in the chest next to it.

But, you will have to enter the Nether unless you are willing to go to a small village in the neighboring Taiga forest. The portal spawns you close to a Nether Fortress, so you won’t have to stay long in Nether.

Best Speedrun Seeds for Minecraft Bedrock

These seeds will run across all versions of Minecraft Bedrock, including PC, consoles, and even Minecraft PE. But keep in mind that you can’t expect ready-to-use End Portals in the Bedrock edition due to its programming. We did find one such seed while creating the list of best Minecraft seeds, but it wasn’t useable.

6. Exposed Stronghold at Spawn

Minecraft Bedrock doesn’t allow readymade End Portals, but it allows spawning next to the stronghold. This seed is one of the best examples of that. You spawn in a Taiga village that has an exposed stronghold library on its surface. It’s located next to an unblocked staircase, where you can find water and even some villagers.

7. Best Nether Speedrun Minecraft Seed

Usually, entering the Nether realm means struggling for a long time till you find the fortress. But not with this seed. It spawns us close to a plains village, where you need to make your portal. You will have to spend some time collecting lava for the portal, though, as there’s no Ruined portal near the spawn point. You can probably get diamonds from one of the villager’s chests. If not, there are multiple caves in the area as well.

8. The 10-Minute Seed

Our next recommendation in this list of best Minecraft speedrun seeds is my favorite one. It’s a highly competitive seed that can even beat a few of the Java Edition speedrun seeds listed above.

We spawn next to a fairly large village with multiple lava collection points and water for the portal. You can even use the nearby Ruined portal, but you won’t necessarily need it. In the Nether, we spawn next to a Nether fortress that has a blaze spawner in it. So yeah, you can get back to the overworld as quickly as you left it.

9. Stronghold in Ravine

This seed offers us plenty of good resources for speedrunning the game. As long as you can tackle the Nether in this seed, it will work like a charm. To begin, you need to travel a few dozen blocks to a plains village with a ravine next to it. The ravine and the village will give you plenty of resources and tools to get started. Then, you can locate a Ruined portal. There’s one close to our spawn point.

10. Best Village Minecraft Seed for Speedrunning

If you like villages in Minecraft, this seed is perfect for you. We spawn near a massive plains village that has a stronghold below it. You can find its walls peaking into the ravine next to the village. Moreover, there’s a desert temple with its amazing loot and TNTs near this village. But that’s not all. There’s a desert village with another temple in the same area, and you can even find a blacksmith in it.

BONUS: Best Speedrunning Seed for Minecraft 1.18

The best Minecraft 1.18 seeds are still finding their way to the users. So yeah, I won’t be surprised when people come out with the new best speedrunning seeds. But until that happens, we have you covered with this special seed that we tested on Java Minecraft 1.18 pre-release 4.

The seed spawns us between two large snowy villages. One of them has an ironsmith whose chest gives us 7 obsidian blocks. Meanwhile, the other village has plenty of farms to help with food.

After looting resources, under one of the villages is an underwater ruined portal. You can finish the portal with your obsidian blocks and light it with a fire charge in its chest. As for the Nether, you spawn close to a fortress. That means it won’t take long to come back to the overworld.

Finally, the stronghold is something you have to travel for. The closest one is located around 2000 blocks away from spawn, but you have plenty of time to reach there and still achieve an impressive speedrun record in this Minecraft 1.18 seed.

Best Minecraft Speedrun Seeds

As Minecraft is an extremely open-ended game by design, the notion of “speedrunning” it can seem a little wonky. However, despite its open-ended nature, Minecraft does have a designated endpoint, or at least a point where the credits roll. Since the world generates randomly each time, though, some Minecraft files are a little more predisposed toward reaching those credits faster. If you want to take a crack at a speedrun, it would behove you to use one of these predisposed worlds. Here are some of the best Minecraft speedrun seeds.

To start a world with a specific seed, just open your world list and click “Create New World.” Normally, when you create a new Minecraft world, your seed is randomly generated, which in turn randomizes the placement of things like biomes, villages, constructs, and so on. However, at the top of the Create New World Menu, you’ll see a box you can enter numbers into. If you enter a seed code into this box and create the world, it’ll be made exactly to that seed’s specifications. If you want a good speedrunning world, try one of these seeds.

Best Minecraft Speedrun Seeds

Here’s a few of the best seeds for speedrunning Minecraft:

Starting off with a quality candidate, this seed has been used to set a couple of world records! It’ll start you off within a short walking distance of a village, which is home to multiple blacksmiths with some truly choice gear to trade. Not only that, but if you dig straight downward from the village, you’ll end up smack in the center of a stronghold housing the End Portal you need to take on the Ender Dragon, though you’ll obviously need to source your own Eyes of Ender to get it running.

Another world record candidate, this seed drops you smack in the middle of town, which just so happens to be a stone’s throw from a partially completed Nether Portal that leads right into a Nether Fortress that’s stuffed to the gills with Blazes for Blaze Rod farming. Also, right next to the portal, you’ll find a handy chest full of useful resources.

This seed drops you in a savannah biome that houses a village, and it’s right next to a desert that houses another village, plus a desert temple! The savannah is also home to a surface-level lava pool that you can exploit for some easy obsidian to get a Nether Portal up and running quicker.

If you like free stuff, you’ll love this seed. This one spawns you right in front of a village, where you can find a lootable chest full of very rare materials like diamond and obsidian, as well as some free bread for snack time. It’s a quality boost to start a proper run.

This seed works great not only for speedrunning, but also for a traditional Survival game. This seed starts you off near a Village, a Witch Hut, and even a Woodland Mansion. Some users have also reported oddly high occurrences of gold spawns, which is great if you like trading with Piglins.

For anyone watching any of my old «professional speedruns», this run was officially valid and was world record for a short period of time! These runs were done on vanilla Minecraft/Optifine and did not have any mods. If you’re coming here due to an invalid run from 2020, that was for a 1.16 run that was never on my Youtube and was done on «fabric»! People confuse them sometimes, as that run is not counted towards the leaderboard and the runs on my Youtube all were. Any records on my Youtube were beaten a long time ago though! Really awesome for memories sake 🙂 I don’t speedrun competitively anymore, and the records you’ll see on my channel were before speedrunning Minecraft competitively was a huge thing, so don’t take these half decent times too seriously haha
This was definitely a new experience. I had a lot of fun, but also a lot of headaches when trying to beat this record. I might start live streaming stuff like this in the future, although for now this was mostly a personal challenge for myself. It was a great feeling after all of the failure to come out with a success.

Русский спидраннер прошел Minecraft за 17 минут — это мировой рекорд Видео

Русскоговорящий спидраннер Dimeax поставил мировой рекорд в скоростном прохождении Minecraft. Он сумел пройти основной сюжет игры всего за 17 минут и 26 секунд. При этом раннер не использовал глитчи или уязвимости внутри игры — это отдельная категория забегов. Dimeax зафиксировал рекорд на видео, а затем его внесли в общую базу на сайте Speedrun.com.

Спидраннер прошел Minecraft версии 1.16, выставив минимальный уровень сложности. Во время геймплея он не использовал баги, но активно абьюзил распрыжку и четко исполнял последовательность действий. Dimeax обогнал предыдущего рекордсмена на целых две минуты.

Minecraft доступна на ПК, PS4, Xbox One и Nintendo Switch. Ранее в игре появилась поддержка очков виртуальной реальности на PlayStation 4. Minecraft до сих пор остается одной из самых популярных и прибыльных игр в мире — продукт Mojang уступает только Tetris.
