Baby Puss

Chase After Him Anyway

You decide to chase after him anyway-who cares about the stupid little girl. The two of you run through out the whole room, until he finally runs into a little doll house, and locks the door. You peak in the window, to see him acting like he’s in the shower. He runs away upon seeing you. A few moments later, you are surprised to see a doll in a little yellow dress come waltzing out the door of the dollhouse. After a moment though, the dress falls off, and you realize it is Jerry. He knows he’s been caught, and runs back in the house. You continue trying to get him out of the house, but then, all of a sudden, you hear:

«BABY!» You’ve been caught. «You is a bad kitty cat for getting out of bed! Now you get right back in!»

This time, Mommy waists no time, and you find yourself over her lap, with your diaper down, being spanked with her hair brush.

She then picks you up, and plops you right back in craddle, tucking you back in, tight.

«Now, if you get up ONE MORE TIME, I will hold your little nose, and I will poor casture oil in your mouth! And it’ll taste awful bad! And that ain’t good!»

With that, she walks away again, leaving you in your craddle, with your bottle. This time, you decide to ignore Jerry as best you can, and just enjoy your yummy milk. You don’t wanna end up over Mommy’s lap again, and you CERTAINLY don’t wanna have to taste casture oil! You go back to your baby routine, enjoying your bottle, and having fun playing baby. Then, all of a sudden, you hear «Rock a bye baby» again. This time though, it’s not the record player-it’s your friends from the neighborhood! Now you are REALLY mad! But will you stand up to them like a cat, or be a good little baby? Maybe it’s best you cry for help from Mommy.

You now have these choices:

Meeting Mommy

The 30-something woman carries you into the room of your new owner: An 6-year-old girl, dressed in a little yellow dress.

Your parents hand you over to the girl, who is only just big enough to hold you. She squizes you against her body, nearly strangling you.

«Oh, little KITTEN! Mommy’s gonna take such good care of baby!»

Her parents smile at her.

«We’re glad you like him. You two have fun!» And with that, they walk out of the room, closing the door behind them.

The little girl finally loosens her grip on you, holding you out away from her, and looking at you.

«Now then, let’s get Baby properly dressed!» She exclaims. While you are wondering what she has in mind, she carries you over to what looks like a baby’s changing table. So far, this little girl and her parents have been really nice to you, so you still feel rather relaxed, as she lies you down on your back. The first thing she does, is put baby booties on your feet, and thick mittens on your paws. These are tied on tight, with ribbon, so there’s no way to remove them yourself.
‘That’s strange’ you think. The next thing she does though, REALLY freaks you out: You suddenly find her sitting on your chest, facing away from you. As a human, even at her age, she is much bigger than you, and you can feel the pressure of her plump bottom on your chest. Also, the back of her dress has managed to ride over your head, so you can’t see anything. Meanwhile, you feel her putting some sort of powder all over your mid section. Next, you feel a thick, soft, peace of cloth being wraped around your waist, and crotch.

She finally gets up. You look down: She’s diapered you! The finishing touch, is a big, pink, baby bonnet.

You are really freaked out. Normally, you would scratch her, but thanks to the booties and mittens, that’s no longer an option.

«Baby Puss» («

Synopsis

A cat and mouse by the names of Jasper and Jinx fight around the house before the cat is threatened to be thrown out if he breaks another item.

The camera shows an unamed mouse (named Jinx in pre-production) attempting to run but getting nowhere, then zooms out and reveals Jasper, a smug, superior cat holding Jinx’s tail so that he cannot move. The cat pulls back Jinx’s tail, opens his mouth, and releases him such that he will run into Jasper’s mouth. Jinx spots the trap, brakes in time, and runs toward his mouse hole, but Jasper catches him with his tail. Jasper tosses the mouse into the air, who lands on the cat’s tail, then runs down the cat’s body until he has to stop once again just in front of the cat’s mouth. Jinx dashes off and Jasper waltzes behind him innocently, hops in front of the door and opens his mouth. Jinx runs in this time, but rolls out of the cat’s mouth on his tongue. Jasper begins a chase and then sees a better idea: he runs down an adjacent hallway and sets up a quick trap. The cat dips his finger in ink, paints a fake mouse hole on the wall, and pulls down a sign that says «HOME SWEET HOME». Jinx spots this and attempts to enter the hole, but to no avail, inadvertently knocking himself out. Jasper then revives the poor mouse with a dash of water.

Jinx recovers and soon notices that something is next to him. He feels the cat’s head and grabs an eyelid; promptly, Jasper opens his eye and hoists him up. Jinx then jabs the cat in the eye; Jasper shrieks in pain and retaliates by giving chase. However, by chasing Jinx around a corner, he runs into a Greek pillar which has a flower pot on top of it and breaks them both. His owner, a black woman named Mammy Two Shoes, quickly arrives and scolds Jasper for his unacceptable behavior. Jasper attempts to tiptoe away but is soon nabbed under Mammy’s broom. She shows Jasper the mess he has made and subsequently makes one last threat that forms the basis for the cartoon: «Now, understand this, Jasper: if you break one more thing, you is goin’ out, O-W-T, out! That’s clear, ain’t it? One more breakin’, and you’re goin’ out! Now, get outta my sight before I get mad!»

Punctuating her last line, Mammy pushes the cat away with her broom. Jasper creeps away, but soon runs into a table. The cat sees a vase falling from it and rushes over to save it; although he succeeds, he soon spots the mouse laughing at him. Jasper crawls over the floor malevolently, and Jinx gets out of the candlestick as Jasper runs up onto the table. Before the cat can catch him, the mouse holds out a wineglass from the table and threatens to break it. Jasper skids to a stop to avoid serious trouble, retreats. The mouse nods in delight, but soon sees Jasper running after him once again and renews the threat. This time, Jinx adds a taunt for good measure: he whacks the cat with the glass, who once again is forced to retreat. The mouse then decides to try a different method; with a wink at the camera, he throws the glass down and whistles for the cat, who sees Jerry pointing towards the ground, panics and dashes at the glass, narrowly saving it. With another whistle, more glasses and a tray is thrown by Jinx; Jasper is lastly hit on the head with a decorated plate of flowers thrown by the mouse. Jasper sees Jinx taunting him with one more glass in his hand, and Jasper attempts to throw the plate to the ground in frustration, but realizes this would probably break it and hits himself over the head. Jasper then spots pillows of all sorts on a nearby couch and lays them out, determined to end this threat. As Jinx is marching along the table, Jasper pops his head up next to him, and Jinx’s threat fails to affect the cat. The mouse then twists his tail at the cat as if to say «Have it your way», and throws the glass to the floor in total arrogance. Not hearing the crash he expected, he looks down to the ground and sees that the glass fell on one of the pillows, followed by a smug grin from the cat.

Jinx is now forced to flee himself, but Jasper holds down Jinx’s tail. After Jinx says a quick prayer (Now I lay me down to sleep. I pray the Lord my soul to keep. If I should die before I wake, I hope and hope my soul He’ll take. Amen.), Jasper gets back at the mouse with a taunt of his own – he lets Jinx go, only to grab a hold of him again seconds later with his own tail. Jasper then tosses the mouse into the air and opens his mouth, expecting to eat the mouse when he falls back down. However, Jinx grabs a china plate on his way down. The plate then drops down onto Jasper instead of himself. Jasper is momentarily stunned, but still catches the plate; however, his troubles only begin as Jinx proceeds to run across the shelf of plates, knocking every one of them down. Jasper sweats increasingly more as he lugs around the stack of plates, then finally manages to stow it against the wall and pants from the weight of the dishes. Jasper is briefly safe, but he soon spots the mouse waving at him from the top of the stack. Jasper can only watch in terror as the mouse throws one more plate down to the ground, and it breaks.

The triumphant Jinx watches his opponent get thrown out, and then spots the «Home Sweet Home» sign used to trick him earlier. The mouse posts the sign by his real mouse hole and nods in confidence that this is the real one as he marches in.

Once upon a time there was a miller who had three sons. When he died he left his mill to the eldest son, his ass to the second son, and his cat to the youngest, who had always been his favourite.

The two eldest sons resolved to live together; but they would not let their brother live with them, because he had only a cat. So the poor lad was very sorrowful, and wondered what he should do to get his bread. While he was sitting thinking about it, Puss jumped up on the table, and touched him with her paw.

“My dear master,” she said, “do not fret. I will get your living for you. Only you must buy me a pair of boots and give me a bag.”

The miller’s son had very little money, but he thought it such a wonderful thing to hear a cat talk that he could not refuse her request. So he took Puss to the shoemaker’s, and got him to make her a very smart pair of boots, and then he gave her a nice large bag.

THE RABBIT WARREN.

Now, not far from the mill there was a rabbit warren, and Puss resolved to catch some rabbits for dinner. So she put some lettuce leaves and fine parsley into her bag, went into the warren, and held the bag very quietly open, hiding herself behind it. And little greedy rabbits, who knew no better, ran into it, to have a feast. Directly they were safe in, Puss pulled the string of the bag, and carried them off to her master. The miller’s son killed them, and cooked one for dinner; but Puss took away the other, which was a very fine one, and hung it up for their next day’s meal.

But although their larder was thus provided, early the next day Puss took her bag and went again into the warren, and in the same manner caught two more fine young rabbits. But instead of carrying them home she walked to the king’s palace and knocked at the door.

PUSS AT THE PALACE.

The king’s porter asked who was there. “I have brought a present to the king,” said Puss. “Please let me see his majesty.”

The porter let her in, and when Puss came into the king’s presence she made a low bow, and, taking a fine rabbit out of her bag, said, “My Lord Marquis of Carrabas sends this rabbit to your majesty with his respects.”

“I am much obliged to the marquis,” said the king, and he ordered his head cook to dress the rabbit for dinner.

By the king’s side sat his daughter, a very beautiful lady. She ordered one of the attendants to give Puss a good cup of cream, which she liked very much; and she went home and told her master all she had done. The miller’s son laughed; but every morning Puss caught a rabbit, and carried it to the palace with the same message.

THE OGRE.

Now, in that country there lived a cruel ogre, who used to eat children, so everybody was afraid of him; but nobody could kill him, he was such a giant. One day Puss went to call on him. He received her civilly, for he did not care to eat cats, so Puss sat down, and began to talk:—”I hear,” she said, “great Ogre, that you are so clever, that you can turn yourself into any creature you please.”

“Yes, so I can,” said the ogre.

“Dear me,” said Puss, “how much I should like to see your ogreship do it.”

Then the ogre, who liked to show how clever he was, turned himself into a lion, and roared so loudly that Puss was quite frightened, and jumped out of the way. Then he changed back into an ogre again. Puss praised him a great deal, and then said, “Can your ogreship become a small animal as well as a large one?”

“Oh, yes,” said the vain ogre; and he changed himself into a little mouse. Directly Puss saw him in this form she jumped at him and killed him on the spot.

THE MARQUIS OF CARRABAS.

Then Puss ran home and bade her master go and bathe in the river, and he should see what she would do for him. The miller’s son obeyed; and while he was in the water, Puss took away all his clothes, and hid them under a large stone. Now, the king’s carriage came in sight soon after, just as Puss had expected, for he always drove in that direction, and directly she saw it, she began to cry very loudly, “Help, help, for my Lord the Marquis of Carrabas.” The king put his head out, and asked what was the matter.

“Oh, your majesty,” said Puss, “my master the marquis was bathing, and some one has taken away his clothes. He will catch the cramp and be drowned.”

Then the king ordered one of his attendants to ride back to the palace and get a suit of his own clothes for the marquis, “who had so often sent him gifts,” he said. And when they were brought, Puss took them to her master, and helped him to dress in them.

PUSS FRIGHTENS THE REAPERS.

The miller’s son looked quite like a gentleman in the king’s clothes, and when he went to thank his majesty for them, the king asked him to get into the coach and he would drive him home. Then Puss told the coachman where to go, and ran on before and came to some reapers. “Reapers,” said she, “if the king asks you whose field this is, say it belongs to the Marquis of Carrabas; if you don’t say so, you shall be chopped up as small as mincemeat.”

The reapers were so frightened that they promised to obey her. And she ran on and told all the other labourers on the road to say the same. So when the king asked, “To whom do these fine fields belong?” the reapers answered, “To the Marquis of Carrabas.” The herdsmen said the same of the cattle, and the king, turning to the miller’s son, said, “My lord, you have a fine property.” But all had belonged really to the ogre, for it was to his castle the cunning cat had told the coachman to drive.

THE CASTLE.

At last the coach stopped at the Ogre’s castle, and Puss came out, and bowing very low, said, “Your majesty and the princess are welcome to the castle of my Lord Marquis of Carrabas.”

The king was delighted, for it was indeed a very nice castle, full of riches. They sat down to a great feast, which Puss ordered to be served, and the king was so pleased with the miller’s son and thought him such a good match for the princess, that he invited him to court, and in a little while gave him his daughter for his wife, and made him a prince.

You may be quite sure that the miller’s son was very grateful to Puss for his good fortune, and she never had to catch mice for her dinner any more, for dainty meat and the best cream were every day given to Puss in Boots.

Mammy Two Shoes (also known as Mammy, Mammy Two-Shoes, or Dinah in the 1940s Tom and Jerry comics) is a recurring disappeared in 19 of MGM’s Tom and Jerry cartoons. She is a heavy-set, middle-aged African-American woman who often has to deal with the mayhem generated by the lead characters, but whether she is the owner of the home or merely the house-keeper is never really made clear. She is based on the «Mammy» archetype that was prevalent throughout the U.S. in the 19th and early 20th century, during which Tom & Jerry gained popularity.

Due to the modern-day controversy of the archetype, beginning in the 1960s, the Mammy character has been dubbed, censored, re-animated, or edited out in television broadcasts.

Personality

Appearance

With dark brown skin (later changed to an ivory-colored skin tone) she is distinguished by her usual, sleeveless dress with frills in the shoulders, a white apron with frills in the trim, old, yellow socks (often seen with some kind of suspender holding it up), and red slippers. The color of her attire often changes, but the pieces remain virtually the same. These colors are yellow, orange, green, blue, and red. She is usually seen holding a broom. She also wears a red polka dot bandana on her head.

She is of mid-stature with dark skin, slightly rotund with a large bust and thick hands.

Mammy Two Shoes, in a scene from Saturday Evening Puss, whose full face is shown for the first and only time.

Mammy first appeared in Puss Gets the Boot, the first Tom and Jerry cartoon (when Tom was called «Jasper»). She always referred to Tom as his given name Thomas and almost always used «is» in conjunction with a pronoun («is you» and «I is»). The character went on to make many appearances through 1952’s Push-Button Kitty. William Hanna and Joseph Barbera initially portrayed Mammy as the maid of the house, with the real owners unknown to the viewers. Later, Hanna and Barbera seemed to suggest, through dialogue and occasional behavior, that the house was Mammy’s own.

Censorship, discontinuation, and callbacks

Mammy Two Shoes attacking Tom.

Director Gene Deitch stated that the «retiring» of Mammy’s character was one of the changes that he felt he needed to make for the 13 shorts produced by Rembrandt Films. [1]

MGM Animation/Visual Arts, under the supervision of Chuck Jones, created replacement characters for Mammy in the Tom and Jerry cartoons featuring her for television. These versions used rotoscoping techniques to replace Mammy on-screen with either a stocky white woman (in most shorts) or a thin white woman (in Saturday Evening Puss); Randolph’s voice on the soundtracks was replaced by an Irish-accented (or generic young adult in Puss) voice performed by June Foray. [2]

Three years after Turner Entertainment acquired Tom & Jerry from MGM, the cartoons featuring Mammy were re-recorded to remove Mammy Two Shoes’ use of potentially offensive dialect. Lillian Randolph’s voice was dubbed over by Thea Vidale. The re-recorded versions of the cartoons would air on Turner’s Cartoon Network-related cable channels, and have at times turned up on DVD. However, some European TV showings of these cartoons, especially the UK, as well as the US DVD release of Tom and Jerry Spotlight Collection, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Academy Awards Animation Collection, and Tom and Jerry: The Deluxe Anniversary Collection and the US DVD and Blu-ray releases of Tom and Jerry Golden Collection, retain Randolph’s original voice. The Region 2 Complete Collectors Edition DVD boxset has Vidale’s voice on the first DVD and Randolph in a number of the episodes after that (such as A Mouse in the House and Mouse Cleaning).

As of 2011, most cartoons that featured Mammy-Two Shoes are rarely, if ever, aired on Cartoon Network and Boomerang USA. They are also unavailable on the Boomerang Streaming Service. However, some cartoons such as The Lonesome Mouse, A Mouse in the House and Mouse Cleaning were already rarely seen due to scenes that are already controversial. This even affects cartoons such as Puss N’ Toots, The Little Orphan and The Mouse Comes to Dinner, in which Mammy-Two Shoes makes minor. These censorship policies were only prevalent in the United States, and not overseas, where racism is generally less of an issue or is outright irrelevant.

A white woman named «Mrs. Two Shoes» appeared in some episodes of Tom and Jerry Tales. She had most aspects of Mammy Two Shoes’ personality, a similar look, and a similar name.

Baby puss after story Puss in Boots has found renewed fame through his starring role in Shrek, but for many centuries he has been well known as one of the most cunning cats in all fairy tale literature. Like all cats though, he is more than just a fluffy bundle of cuddles. He has claws and he uses them. This is the Charles Perrault version, as presented in English by Andrew Lang. The pictures are by Walter Crane, and you might enjoy this flip book of some of the classic artists fairy tale illustrations.

Proofread by Claire Deakin & Jana Elizabeth.

If you like cat stories, also try The Cat’s Elopement, and Kissa.

Once upon a time there was a poor miller who had three sons. The years went by and the miller died, leaving nothing but his mill, his donkey, and a cat. The eldest son took the mill, the second-born son rode off on the donkey, and the youngest son inherited the cat.

“Oh, well,” said the youngest son, “I’ll eat this cat, and make some mittens out of his fur. Then I will have nothing left in the world and shall die of hunger.”

The cat was listening to his master complain like this, but he pretended not to have heard anything. Instead, he put on a serious face and said: “Do not look so sad, master. Just give me a bag and a pair of boots, and I will show you that you did not receive such a poor inheritance in me.”

The cat’s master had often seen him play a great many cunning tricks to catch rats and mice, as when he used to hang by the heels, or hide himself in the grain, and pretend to be dead. Thinking this over, he thought that it wasn’t impossible that the cat could help him after all, so he gave the cat his bag and spent his last pennies on ordering a fine pair of boots to be made especially for the cat.

The cat looked very gallant in his boots, and putting his bag around his neck, he held the strings of it in his two fore paws and lay by a rabbit warren, which was home to a great many rabbits.

He put bran and corn into his bag, and stretching as if he were dead, waited for some young rabbits, still not acquainted with the deceits of the world, to come and rummage in his bag for the bran and corn.

Baby puss after story Not long after he lay down, he had what he wanted. A rash and foolish young rabbit jumped into his bag, and Monsieur Puss immediately drew close the strings and caught him. Proud of his prey, he went with it to the palace and asked to speak with his majesty. He was shown upstairs into the king’s apartment, and making a low bow, said to him: “I have brought you, sir, a rabbit of the warren, which my noble lord, the Marquis of Carabas (for that was the title which puss was pleased to give his master) has commanded me to present to your majesty from him.”

“Tell thy master,” said the king, “that I thank him and that he does me a great deal of pleasure.”

Another time he went and hid himself among a cornfield, holding still his bag open, and when a brace of partridges ran into it he drew the strings and so caught them both. He went and made a present of these to the king, as he had done before of the rabbit. The king, in like manner, received the partridges with great pleasure, and ordered him some money for drink.

In this way, the cat continued for two or three months to bring presents to the king, always saying that they were from his master, the Marquis of Carabas. One day in particular, he heard at the palace that the king was planning to drive in his carriage along the river bank, taking with him his daughter, the most beautiful princess in the world.

Puss in Boots said to his master: “If you will follow my advice, your fortune is made. You have nothing else to do but go and wash yourself in the river, in the place that I shall show you, and leave the rest to me.”

The miller’s son did what the cat advised him to, without knowing why or wherefore. While he was washing, the king passed by, and the cat began to cry out: “Help! Help! My Lord, Marquis of Carabas, is going to be drowned!”

Baby puss after story. Смотреть фото Baby puss after story. Смотреть картинку Baby puss after story. Картинка про Baby puss after story. Baby puss after story At this noise the king put his head out of the coach window, and finding it was the cat who had so often brought him such good game, commanded his guards to run immediately to the assistance of his Lordship, the Marquis of Carabas. While they were drawing the poor Marquis out of the river, the cat came up to the coach and told the king that while his master was washing, there came by some rogues, who went off with his clothes, though he had cried out: “Thieves! Thieves!” Several times, as loud as he could.

This cunning cat had hidden the clothes under a great stone. The king immediately commanded the officers of his wardrobe to run and fetch one of his best suits for the Lord Marquis of Carabas.

The king was very pleased to meet the Marquis of Carabas, and the fine clothes he had given him suited him extremely well, for although poor, he was a handsome and a well built fellow. The king’s daughter took a secret inclination to him, and the Marquis of Carabas had no sooner cast two or three respectful and somewhat tender glances but she fell in love with him to distraction. The king invited him to sit in the coach and ride along with them, with the lifeguards in glittering uniform trotting along side. The cat, quite overjoyed to see his project begin to succeed, marched on before, and meeting with some countrymen, who were mowing a meadow, he said to them: “Good people, you who are mowing, if you do not tell the king that the meadow you mow belongs to my Lord Marquis of Carabas, those soldiers will chop you up like herbs for the pot.”

The king did not fail asking of the mowers to whom the meadow they were mowing belonged.

“To my Lord Marquis of Carabas,” answered they altogether, for the cat’s threats had made them terribly afraid.

“You see, sir,” said the Marquis, “this is a meadow which never fails to yield a plentiful harvest every year.”

The master cat, who went still on before, met with some reapers, and said to them: “Good people, you who are reaping, if you do not tell the king that all this corn belongs to the Marquis of Carabas, you shall be chopped up like herbs for the pot.”

The king, who passed by a moment after, wished to know to whom all that corn, which he then saw, did belong.

“To my Lord Marquis of Carabas,” replied the reapers, and the king was very well pleased with it, as well as the Marquis, whom he congratulated.

Then the king said: “Let us now go to your castle.”

The miller’s son, not knowing what to reply, looked at puss who said: “If Your Majesty will but wait an hour, I will go on before and order the castle to be made ready for you.”

With that, she jumped away and went to the castle of a great ogre and asked to see him, saying he could not pass so near his home without having the honour of paying his respects to him.

The ogre received him as civilly as an ogre could do, and made him sit down.

“I have been assured,” said the cat, “that you have the gift of being able to change yourself into all sorts of creatures as you wish; you can, for example, transform yourself into a lion, or elephant, and the like.”

“That is true,” answered the ogre very briskly, “and to convince you, you shall see me now become a lion.”

Puss was so terrified at the sight of a lion so near him that he immediately climbed up the curtains, not without difficulty, because his boots were no use to him for climbing. A little while after, when Puss saw that the ogre had resumed his natural form, he came down and admitted he had been very much frightened.

“However,” said the cat, “I fear that you will not be able to save yourself even in the form of a lion, for the king is coming with his army and means to destroy you.”

The ogre looked out of the window and saw the king waiting outside with his soldiers, and said: “What shall I do? How shall I save myself?”

Puss replied: “If you can also change yourself into something very small, then you can hide.”

In an instant, the ogre turned himself into a mouse, and began to run about the floor. Puss no sooner saw this but he fell upon him and ate him up.

Puss, who heard the noise of His Majesty’s coach running over the drawbridge, ran out and said to the king: “Your Majesty is welcome to this castle of my Lord Marquis of Carabas.”

“What! My Lord Marquis,” cried the king. “Does this castle also belong to you? There can be nothing finer than this court and all the stately buildings which surround it. Let us go into it, if you please.”

The Marquis gave his hand to the princess, and followed the king, who went first. They passed into a spacious hall, where they found a magnificent rum punch, which the ogre had prepared for his friends, who were that very day to visit him. The friends, however, dared not to enter, knowing that the king was there. His Majesty was perfectly charmed with the good qualities of my Lord Marquis of Carabas, as was his daughter, who had fallen violently in love with him, and seeing the vast estate he possessed, said to him, after having drunk five or six glasses: “If you do not, my Lord Marquis, become my son in law, it will be of your own choosing.”

The Marquis, making several low bows, accepted the honour which His Majesty conferred upon him, and forthwith, that very same day, married the princess.

Puss became a great lord, and never ran after mice anymore, except for pleasure.

This is one of the few Tom and Jerry cartoons I would never watch again. You know, there are many times when I watch these entertaining Tom and Jerry cartoons I root for Tom, just out of compassion. Many times he gets brutalized by Jerry but usually there’s a decent reason. Tom is usually chasing him. But in this cartoon, Tom gets literally tortured by other cats and takes a lot abuse physically and verbally for no reason, except incredible meanness.

Once again Tom has to endure this obnoxious girl. In all, it happens three times. Between the second and third, Jerry summons the neighborhood cats in to tease Tom about his outfit and baby acting. It becomes more than teasing and the cartoon becomes almost shocking in its sadism

There were some funny scenes but not enough to overcome the mean spirit in this animated short.

An annoying prepubescent white girl dresses Tom the cat up as a baby, a bonnet, little booties, a diaper, the whole nine yards. Tom only puts up with it to get the delicious milk and is having a good time until Jerry the mouse sees him which enrages him while the mouse mocks him. Later Jerry gets Tom’s feline friends over and embarrass’s him further. I hear some people say this one is too sadistic. Hello.. this is a Tom and Jerry cartoon people. If you think it’s too sadistic go watch the ultra-liberal crap-fest that is «Captain Planet» This hilarious cartoon can be found on disc one of the Spotlight collection DVD of «Tom & Jerry».

Jerry emerges from the doll house and runs to the window to get the attention of Meathead (from the short Sufferin’ Cats! ), Butch and Topsy, Tom’s three alley cat friends who are outside. When the trio see Tom, they begin to make fun of him. When Tom confronts the other cats, they continue to tease and humiliate him. poor Tom. Overall, I love this cartoon.

After he is forced to dress up and act like a baby by a sadistic little girl, poor old Tom becomes the victim of bullying by Jerry and a group of nasty alley cats.

Tom is physically and verbally attacked for the entire duration of this cartoon by every other character, and, although the level of violence is not particularly any higher than in other episodes, Baby Puss seems more mean spirited than your average T&J adventure. The result just isn’t as enjoyable as usual.

There is also an overlong musical number which feels rather incongruous, and an unsatisfying ending which sees both Tom and Jerry getting a dose of Castor oil that makes them violently sick (I wanted Tom to turn the tables on his tormentors).

Polka-Dot Puss is a 1949 one-reel animated cartoon and is the 39th Tom and Jerry short.

Tom is using Jerry as a yo-yo. Tom then hears Mammy Two Shoes telling him that it is time to put the cat out for the night. Noticing that the weather outside is rather unpleasant, Tom craftily fakes a cold, pretending to sneeze violently.

Mammy enquires if Tom has got a cold. Tom nods and sneezes again. Mammy has a change of heart and allows Tom to sleep inside for the night, but gives the cat a stern warning that she’d wash his mouth with soap if he was lying.

Tom grabs an onlooking Jerry, who appropriately shoves a bar of soap in Tom’s mouth. Tom spits out a multitude of soap bubbles and chases Jerry into his mousehole, but ends up with a mousetrap on his nose.

Tom is tricked after getting fake measles.

Tom prepares to sleep on the living room floor, nose bandaged up. While Tom is asleep, Jerry enters the room with a small pot of red paint, painting several polka dots on his face after removing the bandage on Tom’s nose. When Tom wakes up, Jerry convinces him that he has measles, showing evidence of a measles epidemic in the newspaper, and producing a mirror, showing Tom his own spotty reflection.

Jerry consults Dr. Quack’s medicine book and does a number of unorthodox treatments to the now hypochondriacal cat, such as placing a stethoscope next to a ticking alarm clock to intensify Tom’s apparent heartbeat, then setting off the alarm. Later, Jerry tests Tom’s reflexes, almost bludgeoning the cat with a hammer. As Tom screams in pain, Jerry places a thermometer in Tom’s mouth. Out of Tom’s view, Jerry holds a cigarette lighter underneath the thermometer, causing the temperature to rise, expanding the thermometer, such that it explodes.

The next chapter of the medical book urges Jerry to apply chills to Tom’s high fever. Soon Tom is in the freezer, teeth chattering. Jerry unloads a spoonful of ice-cubes into Tom’s mouth and Tom swallows them, then closes the freezer door for a few seconds. As he opens the door, a frozen-solid Tom slides out of the freezer. Jerry panics and following the book’s advice on extreme chills, shoves Tom into the oven, turning it onto a low temperature. Opening the oven door, Tom is now conscious, but still very cold, and baking in his own juices. Jerry pours some juice over Tom and then closes the door, adjusting the oven’s temperature to the maximum setting. Jerry waits, and smoke comes out of the oven. When he opens the door again, Tom is bright red and burning. Jerry licks his finger and quickly touches the hot cat and burns himself. Thinking quickly, he places Tom onto a baking tray and heads for the bathroom, giving the cat a cold shower.

Tom later emerges from the shower, covered in towels and using hot-water bottles as sandals as Jerry continues reading from the medical book. He observes himself in the mirror, and notices that most of his spots have gone. As he wipes his forehead, the final two spots are removed and transferred to his paw. Jerry, who sees this and realizes he’s about to get caught, drops the book and quietly tip-toes away from Tom. Just then, Tom sees a small jar of red paint hidden in the corner, and realization dawns on him; his mirror image changes to a jackass. Tom becomes furious and grabs a sword, ready to get back at Jerry. He finds the mouse sitting hunched-up with head in hands, looking very sorry for himself, and Jerry only blinks at Tom apathetically when prodded with the sword’s keen point. Only when Tom snatches him up does Jerry break out in genuine measles spots, which proliferate before Tom’s horrified gaze. Tom quickly dashes in terror to the bathroom medicine cabinet and doses himself frantically with everything he can find (throat sprays, pills, mouthwash, nasal drops, etc., but little does he know that there is no cure for measles), while a sped-up version of George Friedel Handel’s Dead March plays over. By the cartoon’s end, both the cat and mouse are covered in spots from head to foot and are being quarantined by Mammy-Two-Shoes herself. Jerry holds up a mirror, looks into it and sticks out his tongue, which, too, is covered in spots, which may also imply that Jerry caught a more severe case of the measles than Tom did.

Quote

Puss in Boots is a cat loosely based on the fairy tale character of the same name with the boots, hat, cape and sword commonly associated with the fairy tale. Puss speaks with a Spanish accent and is voiced by Antonio Banderas.

He first appeared in Shrek 2 as a mercenary hired to capture Shrek. After becoming Shrek and Donkey’s friend, he appeared in the rest of the Shrek franchise, including Far Far Away Idol, Shrek the Third, Shrek the Halls, Shrek Forever After, Scared Shrekless and Donkey’s Caroling Christmas-tacular. He has also appeared in his own spin-off franchise that includes Puss in Boots, Puss in Boots: The Three Diablos, The Adventures of Puss in Boots and the upcoming Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.

Contents

Appearance

He is a smooth-talking cat with a Spanish accent, usually wearing a cavalier’s hat, a belt with a sword, a small black cape, and small Corinthian boots.

Personality

Puss is a character parody of the popular character, Zorro. He is a proud and honorable fighter. He can come across as somewhat silly and has a lot of traits associated with cats but is also a smooth-talking, suave, kind-hearted, charming, and heroic character. Puss is also a «ladies’ cat» (similar to a ladies’ man). Puss likes to tell stories and sing and dance.

History

Background

Puss in Boots was born and raised with a moral compass, strong sense of justice and valour. Though he may appear self-serving and greedy at times he is actually a very selfless and honorable person. Part of this stems from his small beginnings as a stray, abandoned at an orphanage with the only person who ever had any hope for him was his adoptive mother. Because of this he strives to make her proud by being more than a criminal that others brand him to be. However he is also a survivor at heart and will protect himself and his interests in dubious manners such as becoming an outlaw to fight and steal. Despite this, Puss’ high sense of honor prevents him from stealing simply out of selfish reasons and believes in repaying debts.

Like many orphans. Puss has a high desire to receive love and affection. This crux in behavior from a typical thief acts as cause to his growing morality during his childhood with Humpty and his growing popularity among the town as a hero led him to abandon thieving ways. Puss can act vicious and possibly hold a grudge if he is betrayed, especially if it’s by ones he is loyal towards. He abandoned his childhood friend and surrogate brother, Humpty Dumpty, when the latter betrayed him, leaving get captured by the guards. After this betrayal and loss of the only family he knew, Puss became colder as he seemed concerned about only securing his survival by adapting the lifestyle of an assassin and would kill whoever demanded for a high price of gold. He would later abandon this due to his loyalty and gratitude towards Shrek for showing him mercy after years of rejection and loneliness. He would eventually find a job at a bar called Poison Apple Inn as a bounty hunter.

When people treat him with kindness, Puss will repay them in term. He will defend those who cannot do so themselves, such as the Three Diablos, three kittens whom he protected from their wrathful master, The Whisperer. Self-sacrificing and extremely generous for a thief, Puss was not a greedy cat and most of his felonious actions and robberies were based solely to repay the crime he was tricked into committing and give the people of his hometown the money that was stolen from them. A great example of Puss’ self-sacrificing nature was when he entered his hometown, San Ricardo, to save Humpty and Kitty, despite the high risk of his reputation. Puss, however, can act very vicious and vengeful at times. He held a massive grudge towards his former friend, Humpty for betraying him which did little to soothe even after years apart and still blamed him for turning him to a life of crime, only agreeing to help him on strictly business terms, making it clear there was no loyalty or connection between the two of them. Puss seems to have grown into a more forgiving person. Even after being betrayed by Humpty a second time he accepted his apology with little to no difficulty and took sympathy for him, accepting he had a part in creating the rift between them and putting a strain on their friendship.

Many things that are infamous about Puss in Boots is his legend and many relationships. A known ladies’ man, Puss possesses a suaveness, swagger and confidence in his movements which attracts the eye of many a fine woman. However Puss’ lack of interest in commitment normally lead him to even forget the names of his relationships. The one person who does match him, in both skills and reputation was Kitty Softpaws who was said to be the only cat Puss ever loved.

Despite his infamy and reputation as a fearless warrior, Puss is still a cat and has many traits of a common house-cat. For example, he licks himself clean, plays with a ball of yarn and light rays and occasionally suffers from hair balls. He has a fondness for milk and uses his cuteness and feline prowess to get what he wants; another famous trick of his. At one point of his life, he found a job as a bounty hunter at a bar called Poison Apple Inn and became famous for being able to defeat creatures like ogres or giants.

Shrek 2

Recommended to King Harold by Doris (the Ugly Stepsister and barmaid of the Poison Apple Inn) as a famous ogre assassin, Puss is hired by the king to assassinate Shrek. However, unlike his fairy tale counterpart, he does not try to trick the ogre into changing into a mouse, but instead makes a direct, frontal assault on Shrek, which works up until the feline gags on a hairball, spitting it up. Shrek and Donkey think of what to do with him as Donkey even proposes to give him the ‘Bob Barker treatment’, but the swashbuckling cat begs for his life. Puss claims to have taken then contract to help his poor family, consisting of a litter of siblings, a sick mother and a father who lives off the garbage (although he may have been lying so Shrek would spare his life). Ultimately, they spare his life, and Puss proposes to the ogre he owes a life debt to him, in thanks. Although there is some tension/rivalry between Puss and Donkey (who seems nervous that Puss is taking his place as «annoying talking animal» and as Shrek’s best friend), the three eventually become close friends and allies. Puss seems desperate throughout the movie to repay his debt to Shrek, for example, volunteering to test the «Happily Ever After» potion to prove that isn’t poisonous.

Shrek appears to have accepted this debt, as Puss in Boots stays with him throughout the course of the film. He has also stated that he «hates Mondays». When Shrek and Donkey enter the castle to find Fiona and are being chased by the castle’s knights; however in the Jail Tower after Shrek said “what you lack is the capacity,” Puss appears to be in chains. Puss repays his debt to Shrek by holding them off (he removes his hat, looks at the guards cutely, and then attacks them when they stop and say «aww!») After Shrek and Fiona get back together, and the king turns back to a frog, Donkey finds out he has become a dad. Due to the friendship that has developed, Puss decides to be Donkey’s dronkeys’ uncle.

Shrek the Third

Donkey and Puss remain in Far Far Away with Fiona and Shrek, helping the royal couple run the country in the place of the ailing king. Puss joins Shrek and Donkey on their journey to find Artie (Fiona’s cousin and heir to the throne) and later encourages Shrek to be kinder to Artie and take a diplomatic approach to gain the teenager’s trust. He also tries to advise Shrek who has just found out that Fiona is expecting a baby, on fatherhood.

When the group is magically sent back to Far Far Away by Merlin, Puss and Donkey have their bodies accidentally switched, something they were not happy about. The two swapped animals later join forces with the Far Far Away princesses and other captives of Prince Charming and help rescue Shrek. Towards the end of the movie, they confront Merlin and demand he put them in their correct bodies. He does so, although their tails seem to have been switched this time (in the next scene, this is shown to have been corrected as well).

At the end of the movie, Puss helps Shrek and Fiona care for their newborn ogre triplets. He has trouble with them pulling his fur and tail. Later, when Shrek and Fiona change their new babies, Shrek fastens a diaper on Puss as Puss glares at him.

Shrek Forever After

Puss is seen as a regular guest at Shrek’s home, eating dinner with Shrek’s family and telling the children of the tale of how Shrek met Fiona. He is not properly seen again until Shrek has entered the alternate reality made by Rumpelstiltskin. Here, he has retired from swordsmanship and has become obese and shiftless, and Fiona’s pet as well. He befriends Shrek when he realizes there was a spark of romantic interest between Shrek and Fiona. Puss takes part in the ambush on Rumplestiltskin’s ogre hunt, but Fiona’s army of ogres are captured by the Pied Piper. Puss and Donkey rescue Shrek and Fiona from the Piper, but Fiona leaves in anger when she thought Puss told Shrek everything about her.

Puss as seen in the fourth and final film.

Puss and Donkey later lead the ogres in the battle against Rumpelstiltskin’s forces, and helps save Shrek and Fiona from Dragon.

Fiona didn’t think Shrek was her true love due to her lack of faith, and just believes Puss told everything about her to Shrek. When, at sunrise, Shrek fades from existence, Puss is first to notice that Fiona is still in her ogress form.

Puss eventually disappears with everything else when Fiona’s curse is broken and reality is restored. In the real world, Puss celebrates the ogre babies’ first birthday with everyone else.

At the end of the film, when Puss admires himself in the mirror, he sees his alternative self.

Shrek the Halls

Puss tells the story of Santa Claus as a smooth Spanish cat (similar to himself). He is distracted from telling the tale when he sees a glass Christmas tree ornament and begins batting at it. When he realizes what he was doing, he walks away muttering «I have shamed myself». Later, when Shrek explains that he never celebrated Christmas before and wanted it to come right, Puss tells his friend «Christmas just comes».

Scared Shrekless

Puss takes part in the tournament to crown the «King Of Halloween». Shrek says they are doing it in Lord Farquaad’s ghost, who Puss (supposedly) doesn’t know who Farquaad is, not being present in the first movie. He and Donkey tell the story of Bates Motel, where they are invited in a hotel by its warm and friendly owner (who turns out to be Prince Charming), but Donkey that as Puss was taking a shower, Charming came and killed him.

Puss and Donkey argue over who was killed, and Donkey gets Pinocchio to spray him with water, making him run away.

Inspiration

Puss’ Shrek form is based on Zorro’s (whom Banderas also portrayed in the The Mask of Zorro and The Legend of Zorro) fighting style, accent (Spanish) and personality. While attacking Shrek, he used his sword to scratch up a P, a parody of Zorro’s trademark move. In Shrek the Third, Donkey, while in Puss’ body, scratches a D instead.

In Theater

Puss in Boots makes a silent cameo in the Shrek the Musical song, «Travel Song» as Donkey says «Hey look, a cat that’s wearing boots, that’s crazy!». Puss tips his hat to Shrek and Donkey and walks off. He is one of the many puppets seen in the song, along with a bunny Shrek scares away and some African-style animals that parody the opening number of The Lion King musical.

Puss in Boots

One year after the events of Shrek Forever After, Puss is back on his adventorous life and now searches for a way to clear his name and repay the stolen money to return home, when he found himself at a bar where he heard of two murderous outlaws, Jack & Jill, in possession of the magic beans he had long sought. He broke into their hotel room, set on the stealing the beans but so did a masked cat with the same intention, causing them to get caught and run out. Puss chased after the masked cat back to a bar with a bunch of other cats, where they both have a dance fight and a sword fight, ending with Puss smacking her over the head with a guitar, which upsets the cat so much that she rips her mask off and reveals to a surprised Puss that she is, in fact, a woman. Puss then reunites with Humpty Dumpty who also introduces her as Kitty Softpaws, named because she can take things without anyone even noticing they are gone (as she does frequently with Puss’s hat, boots, and money simply to tease him) and asks him to join them in finding the beans, planting them, and getting the golden eggs which lie at the top. Puss immediately refuses, and even after Kitty tries to woo him into going with them, he denies and then tells her his history with Humpty and how everything went wrong (though she falls asleep while he is telling the story out of boredom).

They make it to the perfect spot to plant them, being directed in the right way by Humpty, and plant the beans in a bare, sandy area, right as a storm cloud comes overhead, and a giant funnel of green-lit clouds and wind comes spinning down the place they planted the beans, cracking the sand, then suddenly disappearing, leaving only a small weed where the beans are buried. Kitty suggests Humpty talk to it, which he does, but barely gets a few words out before a giant beanstalk shoots up out of the ground, taking them with it, higher and higher into the clouds before it finally stops. The three got off and surprisingly are able to stand and walk on the clouds without difficulty, although their voices grow higher due to the thin air (their voices return to normal in the normal air pressure of the castle.) They see a castle type building and they enter it, not having to fear the giant, as Humpty says it’s been dead for years; although, there is a beast in the castle known as the Great Terror, which if gazed upon, allegedly turns the gazer to stone. They cross the water far below and get to the island. With only a small run-in with whatever the beast is, they find the golden eggs and the gosling that lays them. They take the gosling because the eggs are far too heavy and make it to the edge of the island before the rope they used to get across is broken, and they fall down into the canyon, the beast not far behind. As they are trying to get away, Kitty falls into the water, unable to pull herself back onto the branch due to her not having claws, but she is saved by Puss. They escape and get back down to the ground, cutting the beanstalk down and rejoicing over getting the golden goose. They briefly dance, and Humpty pulls Kitty aside to tell her to not lose focus, obviously talking about her falling in love with Puss. Kitty seems about to tell Puss something but is interrupted by Humpty and leaves to get rest, leaving Humpty and Puss outside with the goose. Puss tells Humpty he is glad to have his brother back, and Humpty goes to sleep with the goose lying on top of him. Meanwhile, Jack and Jill suddenly come up behind Puss and knock him unconscious.

He prepares to fight the guards, but Imelda arrives before he can. Out of empathy for all the grief he caused to his adoptive mother, Puss accepts his fate and doesn’t fight arrest. He sees Kitty as he is being led away in a carrier, knowing she has betrayed him. While in jail, he finds the Jack, who had the beans in the first place, as his cellmate. Jack tells Puss actual goal of Humpty’s plan. The Great Terror is, in fact, the golden goose’s mother and will destroy the town while trying to get her baby back. Puss escapes using his adorably big eyes to practically hypnotize the guard, and Kitty comes back to do the rest. She helps Puss escape, and he goes to find Humpty. Puss confronts him about his actions. Humpty claims that Puss was the one who betrayed by neglecting him and choosing the town over their brotherhood. Puss apologizes for this and the two reconcile. With the Great Terror arriving, they lead her to the bridge, which breaks under her weight, and Puss has to hold onto a rope that Humpty is holding onto to be sure he doesn’t fall into the wreckage. The gosling was also caught by a rope, but it is breaking. Knowing that Puss can’t save both him and the goose, Humpty lets go of his rope, so Puss can give the baby back to make sure the mother does not destroy the whole town. He does save her and later finds Humpty has been turned into a golden egg, which the mother takes and flies back to the castle.

After saving the city, Puss becomes a famous hero and his name is finally cleared but unluckily he’s still wanted. He and Kitty run togheter and later go back to the bar, becoming a couple.

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish

Puss returns in the sequel, set two years after the events of the first movie, he lost eight of nine lives, leaving it with only one left, then he sets out to the Black Forest to find the mythical star and restore his eight lives.

Baby Puss

The Beach

She returns a few minutes later, dressed in a cute, pink, one-piece swimsuit, with a tiny tutu around the bottom. She looks absolutely adorable.

«Ok, Baby, Now it’s YOUR turn to get ready!»

She gushed, grabbing you up, and sticking you into a light blue, one-piece swimsuit, which had rows and rows of frills across the butt. You are so embarassed now, that a few, small, tears begin running down your bright red face.

«Awwe,» She cooes, don’t cry. Here!» She then sticks a pacifier in your mouth, causing you even more embarrassment, but also bringing you the slightest amount of comfort.

«Good baby!» She says, placing a large, yellow, lady’s hat on your head, and straping the string around your chin.

«Now we’re ready!» She says, picking you up, and trapping you in the stroller.

As she starts off down the street towards the beach, you whimper behind your pacifier, blushing bright red, and crying from embarrassment and discomfort. The trip there takes quite awhile, and after a little bit, Mommy starts humming outloud. This, along with your pacifier, has a surprisingly calming affect on you, and soon your crying begins to go away. However, you soon realize that you have to pee. You try really hard to hold it in, but eventually, you lose the battle, and, sucking your pacifier for comfort, you release your bladder into your waiting diaper, letting out a defeated sigh behind your paci.

Soon after, you reach the beach, and she stops the stroller and gets you out.

«YAY! We’re HERE!» She announces, pulling you out of the stroller. You on, the other hand, are not so thrilled to be here, dressed in your humiliating baby clothes, in front of all these sexy, bikini babes.

«Ok, Baby! What should we do first!» She says.

Baby Puss is Fred and Wilma Flintstone’s pet saber-toothed cat and one of the recurring characters that rarely appeared in the original series, The Flintstones and the rest of the franchise.

Contents

Background

Physical Appearance

Baby Puss is a large saber-toothed cat with yellow-orange fur, with black spots, a tan muzzle on his face and ears, a black nose, whiskers and a long tail.

History

Though featured in early merchandise and in the series’ opening and closing credits, the prehistoric house cat is rarely seen in the actual episodes. Baby Puss is mostly known for Fred’s failed attempts at putting him out at night in the ending credit sequences.

In a What-a-Cartoon short, » Dino: Stay Out! «, Fred puts Dino in charge of keeping Baby Puss outside, only to often fail miserably. The short ends with Fred showing him how it is done. The cat locks them both out, leading Fred and Dino yelling for Wilma to let them in.

Contents

Description [ ]

Kitty is a black tuxedo cat. She has a white chest, whiskers, muzzle, tail-tip, eyebrows and white paws. Her eyes are bright, deep blue. She is the same height as Puss. She wears a brown belt in which she carries a short dagger/sword, along with dark brown heeled boots. Her fur is shiny and smooth. She has no claws because she was declawed by her former owners.

She has a similar appearance to El Guante Blanco.

Personality [ ]

Cool and sleek, Kitty knows how to be charming and alluring without reducing herself to a damsel in distress. She can be impatient but never falters under pressure. At first, she cared only about stealing the golden eggs, but that changed after she met Puss. She is incredibly sneaky, suave and alluring to all, especially to Puss in Boots. She can be sweet when she wants to, but dangerous at times. It was slightly mentioned that she could read. It was also noted she is called Soft-paws because she can steal things away from people without them ever noticing. She proves this by frequently stealing Puss’s hat, bag of money, and boots, just to tease him. When she and Puss are riding on the wagon, she reveals she doesn’t have any claws. Kitty is a fierce fighter, and almost beat Puss in a sword fight but lost due to him whacking her on the head with a guitar.

Relationships [ ]

Puss in Boots [ ]

In the beginning Puss and Kitty fought but when she took off her mask, Puss realized she was a woman, and tried to flirt with her. When he was upset that she worked for his ex-best friend, Kitty charmed him into helping them. At first, Kitty was very dismissive of him, but began to trust him. When she told him how she lost her claws, Puss felt sorry for her. During their dance after stealing the golden goose, Puss tried to kiss Kitty, but Humpty got in the way and took her away. After Puss was captured by guards, Kitty realized that she had fallen for him and went to back to break him out. However, Puss was still a bit angry that she betrayed him but was happy that she came back. Then she admitted that she loved him. After Puss saved the town, Kitty and Puss dance again and then kiss. In the end, Kitty became his girlfriend.

Background [ ]

Kitty Softpaws was a stray cat, until a nice couple took her in. She was very proud of her claws, and, unfortunately, used them to scratch the curtains and would sometimes play too rough with the hamster, so her owners declawed her. She ran away shortly after the incident, using the loss of her claws to her advantage, becoming an expert thief thanks to her soft touch.

Appearances [ ]

Puss in Boots [ ]

In Humpty’s scheme to use Puss, Humpty calls upon Kitty for her talent and manipulation. On the night, Puss tries to rob Jack and Jill, Kitty (in a mask) seems to be after the beans too. Things don’t work well and they end up in a cat club. It’s dance night so instead of just boxing the two cats duke it out with dance. Puss is impressed by the stranger but after slipping milk on his boots they begin a sword fight. Kitty was about to win when Puss whacks her with a guitar. She takes off the masks and a stunned Puss realizes she’s a female. Puss gets infatuated with this kindred spirit but is furious to see her in alliance with his ex-best friend, Humpty. Kitty charms Puss into helping her steal the golden eggs, and quickly kisses him on the cheek. But when Puss explains his history with Humpty, she falls asleep.

Eventually, Puss is convinced to help them steal the eggs, for the sake of San Ricardo and Imelda (the human woman who adopted him as a kitten).

During the adventure, she and Puss become close. She explains the sad story of how her previous owners declawed her; Puss comforts her with the knowledge that cat people are crazy.

After stealing the golden egg laying gander, she and Puss enjoy a dance. Puss and Kitty were about to share a passionate kiss when Humpty pulls Kitty away from Puss and warns Kitty not to get too close (Obviously talking about falling in love with Puss). The next morning, Puss awakes with everyone gone, thinking Jack and Jill have kidnapped his friends.

Puss travels to his hometown to find Humpty and the evil duo celebrating their swindle. Puss is thrown in jail for his old crime while Kitty watches sadly, realizing that she has fallen in love with Puss.

When Puss finds out from old Jack of the bean stalk tale tells that the Mother goose will destroy the town, he attempts to escape with his big eyes but fails, just as Kitty knocked out the guard. She gives him his sword, belt, boots and hat which were taken by the guard. Kitty admits that she loves him, which makes him happy, but doesn’t make them even. As they escaped Kitty’s boot was grabbed by a guard, she let guards grab her and fights with them, so Puss could escape. Kitty fought guards and escaped, which makes them even.

In the end, the town loves Puss again but he’s still wanted by the law. As he leaves, Kitty is by his side matching his moves to her. He promises they will meet again, and Kitty replies ‘Sooner than you think,’ then she shows she’s stolen his boots again and takes off after she blows him a kiss. She then becomes Puss’s girlfriend a while after she and Puss dance then the cats finally kiss on the lips.

Baby Puss is a 1943 one-reel animated cartoon and is the 12th Tom and Jerry short directed by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera and produced by Fred Quimby, Baby Puss was released to theaters on Christmas day, 1943 by Metro-Goldwyn Mayer.

This is the first Tom and Jerry short to be animated by Ray Patterson, who arrived from Walt Disney Productions after working on The Old Army Game, a Donald Duck cartoon also released in 1943. Except some time spent at Walter Lantz Productions in the 1950s, Patterson would continue to work for Hanna and Barbera into the 1980s.

A little girl named Nancy is playing house, and pretending to be the mother and has also dressed Tom, apparently the family pet, up to be her baby. She scolds Tom, who is hiding under some furniture. She drags Tom out by his tail and threatens to spank him. Tom is resentful over his treatment and feels humiliated. She carries him to the bassinet, tucks him in, and shoves a bottle of milk in his mouth. She warns him, under threat of more spanking, to stay in bed while she goes downtown to buy a new girdle. Indignant at first, Tom gets a taste of milk and quickly accepts his lot, cooing like a baby and drinking from his baby bottle.

Jerry peeks from behind a dollhouse and sees Tom. Incredulous at first, Jerry proceeds to mock him by playing «Rock-a-bye Baby» on the phonograph and pretends to be a baby himself. Tom is furious and chases Jerry into the dollhouse and puts a sign that reads «Measles» and Tom looks in the window to see that Jerry is in the bathtub with a brush, humming the melody of «How About You?» and he screams and hits him with the brush and he goes downstairs to the bedroom and goes to bed followed by a doll saying «Mama!» and he uses the doll’s clothes to be in disguise as a girl holding an umbrella, but his shirt fell off of him leaving with his shoes on his feet and white pants that goes under it and Tom opens the dollhouse roof until Nancy returns and scolds Tom again. Tucking Tom back in bed, she threatens to feed him castor oil if he gets out again.

Tom goes back to playing. Jerry emerges from the dollhouse and runs to the window to get the attention of Butch, Topsy, and Meathead (first seen in Sufferin’ Cats!), Tom’s three alley cat friends who are outside. When the trio see Tom, they begin to make fun of him. When Tom confronts the other cats, they continue to tease and humiliate him, tossing him like throwing a ball, causing him to land in a fishbowl, resulting in a wet diaper. They then capture him and change Tom’s dirty diaper with a fresh diaper, a safety pin, baby oil, baby powder, and a tight frilly pair of girl’s rubber pants over the new diaper and Topsy throws the fish from the fishbowl into his pants and they sing Portuguese-Brazilian Carmen Miranda’s «Mamãe Eu Quero» with Jerry joining in. A few minutes later, the whole song stops as Nancy returns and demands to know what is going on. The other cats flee three as Nancy prepares to scold Tom. She then takes Tom to a highchair, forcing him to eat castor oil. Jerry then squeezes a nutcracker on Tom’s tail to make Tom yell in pain and therefore eat the spoonful of castor oil. He gets sick and rushes to a windowsill to vomit. Jerry laughs at Tom’s misfortune, but the castor oil bottle, having turned over after Tom ran off the high chair he was sitting on, spills a dose of castor oil into Jerry’s mouth, which results in Jerry joining Tom at the windowsill.

Baby Puss

Baby Want His Ba Ba?

«Awwe, what’s wrong, Baby?» She cooes.

The next thing you know, she sticks her finger right up inside your diaper.

«Is Baby Wet?» She says, wiggling her finger around your privates. She then pulls it out. «NOPE!» She exclaims, as she pats your diapered butt.

«hmm. I know!» She then grabs a baby bottle of milk, before carrying you over to the loves seat it laying you in her lap. She then thrusts the bottle in your mouth. You don’t like how rough she’s treating you, but you have no choice but to nurse the nipple in your mouth. You quickly realize it’s milk, and suddenly, it no longer matters that you’re dressed as a baby, drinking from a baby bottle. After a moment, you even begin to purr a little bit.

«That’s Mamma’s good baby!» She cooes, while petting your head. Finally, once the bottle is through, you find yourself hoisted over her shoulder, being roughly patted on the back, until you let out a large, embarrassing belch, making you blush bright red, and causing her to grin at you, as she squeezes you against her in another strangling hug.

«Awwwe! Baby’s so cute!»

She then picks you up again, and starts carrying you through the nursery.

«Now, let’s take baby to.

Synopsis

In this episode, a smug grey cat named Jasper takes great pleasure in tormenting a small mouse named Jinx. Jinx is trying to run away from Jasper but the cat keeps grabbing the mouse’s tail to keep him from running anywhere. Eventually Jinx breaks free but goes into Jasper’s mouth, narrowly escaping. Jasper then draws a mousehole on the wall to trick Jinx into entering it. Jinx bangs against the wall until he is knocked silly. Jasper revives him using water and picks him up. Having slowly realized the situation, Jinx punches Jasper in the eye, making him yelp in pain. The incensed cat chases the mouse into a flower stand, where it explodes and destroys the flower and its pot. His owner, Mammy Two Shoes, an African-American woman, enters the room and scolds Jasper for his unacceptable behavior, issuing him an ultimatum that if she catches him making one more mess, he will get kicked out of the house for good. The cat promises to follow her orders and sulks off, but not before nearly running into a vase as he tries to keep the vase from falling. Jinx chuckles at him as he puts the vase back and this causes the cat to chase him, but when the mouse holds a cup over the edge of the table, the cat backs off after seeing a furious Mammy walking away with the remains of the broken flowerpot, afraid that he will get himself into trouble again.

After Jinx puts the cup down, seeing his chance, Jasper rushes at the mouse, but the mouse holds back the cat by threatening to drop the glass again. The mouse then drops the cup and Jasper rushes to catch it. Jinx throws more cups, making it very hard for Jasper to catch them all. As Jinx walks away with the last cup, the angry cat drops a bunch of pillows on the ground. When the mouse tries to humiliate the cat by dropping the cup, it stays intact when it lands on the soft surface of the pillows. The mouse tries to escape but Jasper catches him by the tail. The cat inadvertently throws the mouse onto a shelf, where he escapes and begins pelting the cat with dishes, making sure that to blackmail the cat, he will force the victim to immediately «get the boot» once and for all. Jasper begins to tire of holding all the dishes, after which, in humiliation, the cat tries to stop the mouse from dropping one last dish on the ground, but it is too late.

Mammy once again enters the room in frustration just as Jinx swims in Jasper’s milk bowl, uses the cat’s tail as a towel and finally kicks the cat, causing him to scream in pain and drop all the dishes, creating a huge mess and blowing up the entire house and causing Jasper to take the blame. Nothing remains of the house except Jinx and his mousehole; however, Jinx remains unharmed. Enraged, Mammy throws Jasper out of the house and shuts the door. Once the cat is expelled from the house, Jinx waves to Jasper, sticks his tongue out, puts a HOME SWEET HOME sign in front of his hole, and enters it.

Dinner time

After what felt like an eternity on that horse you could hear mommy from the kitchen “put on your yummy face baby cause it’s feeding time”, she removes you from the horse and carries you into the kitchen.

She carries you towards a homemade wooden high chair and slams you down into it, it’s clearly too small for you as your arms are immediately pinned to your sides and the tray presses against your stomach.

She walks over to the kitchen counter and returns with a large bowl of chunky dark green and brown coloured mush and a large spoon, as she stirs the bowl she says “strained beef liver with puréed green beans, yummy yummy”, she scoops a large spoonful of the mush onto the spoon and moves it towards your mouth “ok baby, here comes the yum yum train, right into the station, toot toot, yum yum express coming through, toot toot, next stop tummyland” says mommy as she puts the food in your mouth, “good job baby, but we’re not done yet, there’s many more trips that the yum yum express needs to make to tummyland” says mommy as she prepares another spoonful.

Eventually the bowl is empty and mommy says “now it’s time to play

The High Chair

“Well would you look at the time, it’s almost dinnertime so let’s go fill your tummy wummy with some nummy nummies” says mommy as she picks you up and carries you into the kitchen.

She carries you towards a homemade wooden high chair and slams you down into it, it’s clearly too small for you as your arms are immediately pinned to your sides and the tray presses against your stomach.

As mommy gets to work in the kitchen she says “baby is going to love mommy’s cooking so much he’ll never wanna stop eating, you can tell this is bad because there’s a strong smell of fish in the air.

She sticks her finger into the bowl and says “this food feels cold, a little time in the microwave should fix it right up”, little did you know that the microwave would only make things go from bad to worse.

Eventually the microwave goes off and she takes the bowl out and the already strong fish smell has now become even stronger and even worse, she grabs a spoon and carries the bowl over to the high chair, places it on the tray and says “liver and sardines, yummy yummy”.

She scoops up some of the mush and says “now here comes the airplane *airplane noises* open up the hanger” you keeping your mouth shut tight and this makes mommy angry “come on kitty, eat your food or mommy will get the castor oil!».

The threat is enough proof that she means business so you open your mouth and she shovels spoonful after spoonful of chunky brown mush into your mouth, every spoonful or so you’d feel a sardine head on your tongue and want to spit it out but mommy was just going too fast.

Eventually the bowl is empty and she removes you from the high chair and says “ok baby, now it’s

Does this short feature Tom’s most humiliating endeavour yet? It appears so, because I can’t imagine what happens to him in later entries is any worse than what he goes through here.

So there’s this little girl who is straight-up abusing Tom for some reason, forcing him to wear baby gear and shoving him into a cradle. When she’s out the room, Tom decides to embrace the embarrassing situation he’s been thrust into, goo-goo-ga’ing while sucking from a milk bottle. Unfortunately, Jerry is watching from aside and begins to mock him, even bringing in a trio of mangy alley cats (Butch, Meathead and Topsy) to degrade him even more.

By 1843, the Tom and Jerry series was at the peak of its popularity. The beloved cat and mouse were going from strength to strength and even had an Oscar for best animated short film under their belts. However, even at this early point in Tom and Jerry’s history, there are some entries which are much stronger than others. For me, Baby Puss is one of these weaker entries. Baby Puss is an entry which I remember enjoying at lot more when I was younger. Now, at the age of 23, I can see that Baby Puss just doesn’t quite match the quality of the previous shorts.

This short follows Tom as he reaches an new incredibly embarrassing low point.…

I never understood why my Dad would laugh his ass off at Tom & Jerry and then give me a hard time for watching The Simpsons!
This for me isn’t one of their better efforts but it’s a fairly early outing.

Just embarrassing to watch most of the time and there’s way too much talking but the tournament of Tom at the hands of the other cats is so deliciously performed that I laughed so much that I can’t dislike it.

Tom degrades and infantilizes himself in some kind of perverse fetish, while Jerry takes the opportunity to publicly humiliate Tom for what should be a private moment, no matter how bizarre. One thing can’t be denied: cats do indeed love milk.

Is that girl retarded and blind? Can’t she see that Tom is already a fully grown cat? Couldn’t she see that Tom was being victimized by the other cats who had to flee in front of her very eyes??

New characters are introduced for the sake of detriment. The way Tom is treated is overproportional to his extremely brief conflict with Jerry and he suffers and is humilliated up to the point of physical torture.

Even for slapstick/MGM cartoon standards, this is ugly. A Latin American version under the username «Parodianimado» made a YouTube Poop version out of this short. It’s definitely better. and scarier, but for the good reasons.

Watched this to escape the election and instead I got mean-spirited bullshit. Tom gets bullied and tortured by three random cats (not even Jerry!) for the majority of this short, all for doing literally nothing, besides being happy. It got to the point where I thought Jerry would feel bad and start helping Tom, but nope he’s just laughing right along. What I like about Tom and Jerry is the give and take they have, and it is usually in the form of one character trying to do something malicious and then immediately getting their comeuppance for it. Instead this was just Tom being beat up for seven minutes without instigating anything or even trying to fight back.
